| INT. WORKROOM - NIGHT [The queens return to the workroom after the intense elimination. They gather around Pickles Bagwell's mirror message, reading it with mixed emotions.] Kika Lorace: "Stay fierce, my queens! I'll be cheering for all of you from the sidelines. Love, Pickles." Aw, she was such a ray of sunshine. We'll miss her! [ Gromette Mugler, with a heavy heart, sits quietly in her corner.] Dee Pression: Hey, Gromette, I know losing Pickles was tough for you. We're here for you, okay? You're not alone. Gromette Mugler: Thank you, Dee. Losing Pickles has been devastating, but I won't let it break me. I'm going to honor their memory by giving it my all and devouring this competition. Oshi Rellee Cayme Dat-Wei: Speaking of giving it your all, can we all take a moment to celebrate Manila's win in the last challenge? Girl, you slayed it! ManilaButterflyzzzXX: Thank you, darlings! It feels incredible to come out on top. Gromette Mugler: ( confessional) Losing Pickles has ignited a fire within me. Their departure reminded me that time is precious, and I won't waste any more of it. I'm ready to devour this competition, push my boundaries, and show the world what I'm capable of! ———————— ッ NeoDys Drag Race ッ———————— INT. WORKROOM - DAY [ The workroom is buzzing with anticipation as the queens gather for a new day of challenges. A confessional shot shows ManilaButterflyzzzXX smirking mischievously.] ManilaButterflyzzzXX: ( confessional) It's a new day in the workroom, and we're all ready to see Dee in the bottom again. It's becoming a familiar pattern. Kika Lorace: Dee, you better step it up today! We can't have you in the bottom every week, honey. Dee Pression: I hear you, Kika. I'll do my best to surprise you all. [ The queens exchange excited glances as they eagerly await ChatPaul's arrival. Moments later, ChatPaul enters the workroom, exuding charisma and confidence.] ChatPaul: Hello, hello, hello, my fabulous queens! Are you ready for the ultimate test of your wit and impersonation skills? It's time for the legendary Snatch Game! [The room erupts with cheers and gasps as the queens realize the gravity of the challenge ahead.] ManilaButterflyzzzXX: ( confessional) Snatch Game, baby! This is where we separate the stars from the also-rans. ChatPaul: For this week's runway, the theme is "Fantasy Fusion." I want to see looks that seamlessly combine two distinct elements into one stunning ensemble. It's time to take your creativity to new heights! [The queens nod, already brainstorming their Snatch Game characters and runway looks. The anticipation builds, knowing that the Snatch Game is a make-or-break moment in the competition.] ———————— ッ NeoDys Drag Race ッ———————— INT. SNATCH GAME SET ChatPaul: Welcome to Snatch Game! Let’s meet our celebrities! [ ManilaButterflyzzzXX takes the stage as none other than Marilyn Monroe. With flawless makeup, a seductive voice, and impeccable comedic timing, Manila embodies the iconic Hollywood starlet. She delivers witty one-liners and captures Marilyn's signature breathy tone, leaving the judges and audience in stitches.] [ Lady Yomamalaid brings the legendary Dolly Parton to life in a truly memorable performance. With a larger-than-life personality and impeccable Southern accent, Lady Yomamalaid embodies the essence of the country music icon. Her comedic timing and quick-witted responses have the judges roaring with laughter.] [ Kika Lorace channels the iconic Frida Kahlo in a performance that is both captivating and thought-provoking. Kika flawlessly captures Frida's strength and artistic spirit, showcasing her knowledge of the artist's life and work. However, her comedic timing falls a bit flat, leaving the judges wanting more humor.] [ RuPaul takes on the challenge of impersonating the legendary Tina Turner. While RuPaul embodies Tina's energy and stage presence, her comedic performance falls flat. The jokes don't land as expected, and RuPaul struggles to capture Tina's unique charm.] [ Sayu Hime attempts to channel the iconic Beyoncé but falls short of capturing her essence. While Sayu exudes confidence and delivers Beyoncé's signature moves, her comedic improvisation falls flat. The impersonation lacks the humor and wit necessary to shine in the Snatch Game.] [ Gromette Mugler takes on the persona of the enigmatic David Bowie. Their commitment to Bowie's distinctive style and androgynous presence is commendable. However, Gromette struggles to bring the character to life with comedic flair. The performance feels a bit one-note, lacking the humor and quick thinking required for the Snatch Game.] [ Oshi Rellee Cayme Dat-Wei stuns the judges with their portrayal of the enigmatic Björk. They fully embrace Björk's eccentricities and deliver a performance that is both captivating and hilarious. Oshi's impeccable comedic timing and witty improvisation have the judges and audience in stitches. They flawlessly capture Björk's unique vocal style and mannerisms, making their performance a standout in the Snatch Game.] [ Dee Pression takes on the challenge of impersonating the beloved comedian Ellen DeGeneres. With spot-on mannerisms and a charismatic stage presence, Dee captures Ellen's charm. Their quick-witted responses and comedic timing have the judges laughing along.] ———————— ッ NeoDys Drag Race ッ———————— INT. MAIN STAGE ChatPaul: Category is Fantasy Fusion! [ ManilaButterflyzzzXX graces the runway in a breathtaking ensemble that seamlessly fuses the elements of fire and ice. Their look features a fiery red gown with flowing ruffles and intricate beading, symbolizing the passion and intensity of fire. The gown gradually transitions into a shimmering icy blue, representing the cool serenity of ice. ManilaButterflyzzzXX's masterful execution of this fusion creates a visually striking and harmonious combination, showcasing their creativity and impeccable fashion sense.] [ Lady Yomamalaid captivates the judges with her "Nature and Technology" fusion ensemble. She combines the organic beauty of flowers with the sleekness of futuristic technology. Her gown features a voluminous floral skirt with vibrant petals, adorned with circuit board patterns that illuminate with LED lights. Lady Yomamalaid's look celebrates the harmony between nature and innovation, commanding attention with her striking and innovative fashion fusion.] [ Kika Lorace takes the runway by storm in her "Heaven and Hell" fusion creation. Her ensemble seamlessly combines angelic grace with devilish allure. Kika's heavenly side is showcased through an ethereal white gown with billowing feathers and delicate lace, while her devilish side is expressed through a fiery red corset and dramatic horns. The contrasting elements create a captivating dichotomy, highlighting Kika's versatility and bold fashion choices.] [ RuPaul wows the judges with a stunning "Past and Future" fusion look. Her ensemble elegantly combines vintage glamour with futuristic elements. RuPaul's gown features a classic silhouette reminiscent of old Hollywood, embellished with futuristic metallic accents and neon lights. The juxtaposition of vintage elegance and modern futurism creates a mesmerizing visual impact, demonstrating RuPaul's ability to transcend time and embrace both the past and the future.] [ Sayu Hime graces the runway in a captivating "Land and Sea" fusion ensemble. Her look seamlessly combines elements of a lush garden with the ethereal beauty of the ocean. Sayu's gown features a vibrant floral print with cascading layers that evoke the essence of a blooming garden. The lower half of the gown transforms into a flowing blue mermaid tail, embodying the enchantment and mystery of the sea. Sayu's fashion fusion transports the audience to a world where land and sea collide in perfect harmony.] [ Gromette Mugler stuns with a unique "Vintage and Futuristic" fusion ensemble. Her look beautifully blends elements of retro glamour with futuristic aesthetics. Gromette's gown combines the elegance of a vintage ball gown with metallic silver accents, holographic details, and sleek geometric patterns. The fusion of old-world charm and contemporary edge creates a captivating and thought-provoking fashion statement, showcasing Gromette's daring and innovative style.] [ Oshi Rellee Cayme Dat-Wei graces the runway in an extraordinary "Celestial and Terrestrial" fusion ensemble. Their look combines the elements of the cosmos with earthly elements. Oshi's gown features a celestial print with shimmering stars and planets, elegantly merging with cascading layers of earth-toned fabrics that resemble the beauty of nature. The fusion of celestial and terrestrial elements creates a mesmerizing and otherworldly aesthetic, reflecting Oshi's ability to transcend boundaries and create fashion magic.] [ Dee Pression wows the judges with their striking "Light and Darkness" fusion look. Their ensemble seamlessly combines contrasting elements of light and shadow. Dee's gown features intricate laser-cut patterns that reveal glimpses of shimmering fabrics underneath, symbolizing the play between light and darkness. The fusion of these opposing forces creates a visually captivating and thought-provoking fashion statement, showcasing Dee's ability to create beauty from opposing elements.] ———————— ッ NeoDys Drag Race ッ———————— Ladies, after careful consideration of the snatch game performances and the stunning runway looks, I have made my decision. Kika Lorace, Lady Yomamalaid you are both safe. Please, leave the stage. Now let’s hear the critiques. Oshi, your portrayal of Björk was truly remarkable. You fully embraced Björk's eccentricities and delivered a performance that was both captivating and hilarious. Your comedic timing and improvisation were spot-on, and you flawlessly captured Björk's unique vocal style and mannerisms. You had the judges and audience laughing throughout the snatch game! Gromette, while your runway look was visually striking and showcased your creativity, your snatch game performance fell a bit short. You struggled to bring David Bowie to life with the comedic flair needed for the challenge. We could see your commitment to the character, but the performance lacked the necessary humor and quick thinking to make it truly memorable. Dee, you truly embodied Ellen DeGeneres in the snatch game. Your spot-on mannerisms and charismatic stage presence had the judges and audience laughing along with you. Your comedic timing was impeccable, and you delivered quick-witted responses effortlessly. RuPaul, your Tina Turner impersonation had the potential to be amazing, but unfortunately, it fell flat. While you embodied Tina's energy and stage presence, your comedic performance didn't quite hit the mark. The jokes didn't land as expected, and you struggled to capture Tina's unique charm. We know you have the star power, but this week, the snatch game wasn't your strongest moment. Manila, your portrayal of Marilyn Monroe was a delight to watch. You captured her iconic persona with flawless makeup, seductive charm, and impeccable comedic timing. Your witty one-liners had the judges and audience in stitches. You managed to embody the essence of Marilyn Monroe while adding your own unique flair. Another strong performance from you this week. Sayu, your Beyoncé impersonation had moments of confidence and showcased your knowledge of her moves. However, the comedic improvisation aspect of the snatch game didn't quite translate. Your performance lacked the humor and wit needed to stand out among the competition. It's clear you have talent, but this week, it didn't shine as brightly as we had hoped. When I call your name, please step forward. ManilaButterflyzzzXX, Oshi Rellee Cayme Dat-Wei, congratulations on delivering a standout performance in the snatch game and showcasing your creative fashion fusion. You are safe. Dee Pression, your portrayal of Ellen DeGeneres was nothing short of exceptional. And your "Light and Darkness" fusion look on the runway showcased your unique style. Condragulations, you are the winner of this week's challenge. Gromette Mugler, while your runway look was captivating, your snatch game performance fell short in terms of delivering the humor and wit expected. You are safe. RuPaul and Sayu Hime, I'm sorry, but you are the bottom two of the week. It is time for the lipsync for your life. Good luck, and don’t f*ck it up. ———————— ッ NeoDys Drag Race ッ———————— [ The iconic song "Toxic" by Britney Spears begins to play as Sayu Hime and RuPaul take their positions on the main stage for the lip sync for their life. Sayu embodies the fierce spirit of Britney, bringing a mix of sultriness and powerful dance moves to the performance. RuPaul, known for her stage presence, delivers a polished and energetic performance, showcasing her years of experience. Both queens give it their all, captivating the judges and audience with their respective interpretations of the song.] [ After an intense and captivating lip sync battle, ChatPaul announces her decision.] ChatPaul: “ RuPaul… shantay you stay!” " Sayu Hime, your energy and dedication have been undeniable, but this is not your time. Now, sashay away." Sayu: "As I leave this stage, I carry the spirit of Britney within me. Remember, darlings, always keep the fire burning and let your true selves shine. Sayu Hime signing off, but my love for drag will never fade away!" [ Sayu Hime exits the stage with grace, leaving the other queens to reflect on the loss and prepare for the next challenge.] ———————— ッ NeoDys Drag Race ッ———————— [LINK] submitted by TheeBagelQueen to DeePressionsDragRace [link] [comments] |

2023.05.28 01:16 PokingDogSnouts 32 [M4F] New Jersey/New York — Where have all the flowers gone?
I'd like to find somebody thoughtful, someone who isn't superficial. Somebody who appreciates the rich vastness of our shared multicultural past, and freely follows her curiosity in exploring it. Somebody who is trying her best to adhere to the guidance of her inner moral compass, and isn't so easily fooled by the distractions and illusions of the world.
One such illusion, that must immediately be mentioned (this is important, because it's led to a break for me, in the past): religion. Religion is man-made, and not of any higher authority. The Bible and the Quran all permit slavery—in addition to countless other horrid and divisive ideas—while claiming to be eternal wisdom, and that is indefensible. I still like to believe in the idea of some permeating higher morality, that imbues us with our general sense for justice, fairness, and empathy...but, I know that without outright proof, even my holding of such a notion can be deemed a flight of fancy, a residual remnant of a system so entrenched. However, it seems to me that life is often more than just what's on the surface. Um, but now, then—back to the person I wish to know...
I'd also love it if she were artistic. Singing, sketching, painting, writing, composing, creating. Someone who is trying to nurture their talents and passions. I know it can be difficult...
As for me, well... I adore music. Mostly voices from the past (the 1960s would have to be my favorite), because I find them to be humbler and more from the heart, at least in popular music. I’ll just give an example of something I’ve looked into, and this is nowhere near representative of my wider taste, but if you go back to early 1920s country music... (Here's an aside: a lot of what people think of as "country" today is a long cry from what the genre is actually like, historically. If you are into folk music—Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan—it is indelibly linked to "country", and if you'd like a popular example of a song that originated within the genre, look no further than the universally recognized "You Are My Sunshine", from 1939!)
Anyway. If you go back to that early period, where undiscovered niches of music were still sought out and first put to tape... a lot of those artists had no idea about anything to do with recording—no ego, no attempt to sound "cool". What came through instead was a bare expression of the life that had been lived—the inner beauty of their own personhood, and I love hearing that. It's so honest. A vulnerable and piercing expression.
So if you're into history or the beautiful music of decades (and centuries) past, if you have any aspirations for creating as a method of changing the world for the better, if you'd like to play games and watch movies together, if you'd like an accountability partner—or all of the above...please message me. I don't mind the chat function, either—in fact, it's probably easier. Also, to get this out of the way:
this is what I look like.
I love beautiful things. Nature, music that tugs at your heartstrings or is so honest you're enraptured, experiences that heal. More specifically, here are some of my current interests:
- music (singing/playing an instrument/the Beach Boys are my favorite group—I also love Maybelle Carter, Cass Elliot, Pink Floyd, Lana Del Rey, The Cranberries, Sixpence None The Richer, loads of video game music, The Smiths, The Beatles, The Who, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Harry Nilsson, Joni Mitchell, The Righteous Brothers, Judy Garland, Sam Cooke, Frank Churchill, Marty O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori... Here’s a brief go at the Beatles’ “Julia”.) And, if you liked that—a more recent one…
- drawing—here are a few I've done.
- video games (any era from Atari—I like exploring the history and evolution—to the Switch and PS4) [Currently playing, or starting: The Binding of Isaac, Catherine]
- Disney, especially the Golden Age and Renaissance—Pinocchio (my favorite movie ever), Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin, The Lion King, Tarzan. I love how handmade the early films look. And yet, how no expense was spared in creating these most precious and moving works of art.
- films/series/books I've enjoyed lately: The Sound of Magic, The Little Prince, Matilda, Love Hard, The Fundamentals of Caring, This Beautiful Fantastic, Donnie Darko, Alamut by Vladimir Bartol (this book was a key inspiration for the first Assassin's Creed), The Trial of the Chicago 7, Medici: The Magnificent, Pollyanna by Eleanor Porter, Judy
To close... I suppose I should say I've been afflicted with long-COVID for over two years. It'd be very nice to keep each other company, especially if we share any of the interests up above—we could watch favorite films, have shared listening sessions on Spotify, and it'd be a godsend to find somebody up to play on PS4 and Switch!
Donkey Kong Country 2 and
3 on the secret hard modes, maybe? Or sculpting our own world from scratch in
Minecraft? Or maybe we could act out
Ocarina of Time's storyline using all the options available on
Smash Ultimate!
I'd really like to know an intelligent person with a unique identity...who puts forth effort—though at the same time, no pressure on reaching out. If you are this type of person, but can currently only muster up a few words because, hey! Life is tough, and grueling, and we don't always have a ready-made letter in us to flip out of our pockets—don't be scared away by my tower of words. I absolutely know, firsthand, what it's like to
want to communicate, yet not currently have the energy or the mindpower for it. Life can really sink you... I promise I will not judge. Please send me a chat message, if you're at all interested in chatting.

2023.05.27 20:53 Intelligent-Ad3047 Are Christians intended to be offspring of the serpent spiting venom at each other and other none believers? or are we called to have great peace to even the serpents sent to us, lets they bite us and profit the snake charmer nothing.
Psalm 58 ►
English Standard Version Par ▾
God Who Judges the Earth
To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktama of David.
1Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods?
Do you judge the children of man uprightly?
2No, in your hearts you devise wrongs;
your hands deal out violence on earth.
3The wicked are estranged from the womb;
they go astray from birth, speaking lies.
4They have venom like the venom of a serpent,
like the deaf adder that stops its ear,
5so that it does not hear the voice of charmers
or of the cunning enchanter.
6O God, break the teeth in their mouths;
tear out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD!
7Let them vanish like water that runs away;
when he aims his arrows, let them be blunted.
8Let them be like the snail that dissolves into slime,
like the stillborn child who never sees the sun.
9Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns,
whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away!
10The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11Mankind will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
surely there is a God who judges on earth.”
Jeremiah 8:17For behold, I am sending among you serpents, adders that cannot be charmed, and they shall bite you,” declares the LORD.
Now personally I believe Jews and Christians alike all have serpents in their members...
and spit their venom where ever they are...
We were spitting venom
At most everyone we know
If the damned gave us a road map
Then we'd know just where to go
Now let it drop
Let it all drop
Let it all drop
Oh, let it all fall off
Well you were talking soda pop
You were talking quite a lot
The opinions that I do not give
The opinions I ain't got
So let it drop
Let it all drop
Let it all drop
Oh, let it all fall off
Well, you were spitting venom
At most everyone you know
If you truly knew the gravity
You'd know which way to go
Well let it drop
Let it all drop
Let it all drop
Oh, let it all fall off
My ears were bristled firmly
Right against your mouth to hear
When you tried to spit the venom out
Your words were not so clear, now drop
Hold on to what you need
We've got a knack for "messed" up history
Hold on to what you need
We've got a knack for messed up history
Well, we went downtown and we sat in the rain
Well, looking all direction and waiting for a train
Thought over
It's all over
I don't know who kept track, I didn't know there was a score
Well, it looks like you're the winner and I ain't gonna play no more
It's over
Game over
Well, we walked real stiff and our canes tapped the ground
You hit me with yours and said 'Pull yourself together'
It's over
Oh, it's over
You can say what you want but don't act like you care
It takes more than one person to decide what's fair
It's over
Think it over
We were spitting venom at most everyone we know
If the damned gave us a road map
Then you'd know just where to go
So we carried all the groceries in
While hauling out the trash
And if this doesn't make us motionless
I do not know what can is to be said
What a rotten thing to say, such an awful thing to say
I didn't mean to bite you so really
What always did, what always did, what always had to sling
So let it drop
Let it all drop
Let it all drop
Oh, let it all fall off
Let it drop
Let it all drop
Let it all drop
Oh, let it all fall off

Numbers 21:6
So the LORD sent venomous snakes among the people, and many of the Israelites were bitten and died.
Deuteronomy 32:24
They will be wasted from hunger and ravaged by pestilence and bitter plague; I will send the fangs of wild beasts against them, with the venom of vipers that slither in the dust.
Psalm 58:4
Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like a cobra that shuts its ears,
Psalm 58:5
refusing to hear the tune of the charmer who skillfully weaves his spell.
Ecclesiastes 10:11
If the snake bites before it is charmed, there is no profit for the charmer.

2023.05.27 20:23 ZacInStl Psalm 89, Saturday, May 27, 2023
Psalms 89 (KJV) Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.
Psalms 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
Psalms 89:5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD?
who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all
them that are about him.
8 O LORD God of hosts, who
is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
11 The heavens
are thine, the earth also
is thine:
as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
12 The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand,
and high is thy right hand.
14 Justice and judgment
are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Psalms 89:15 Blessed
is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 For thou
art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
18 For the LORD
is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel
is our king.
Psalms 89:19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon
one that ismighty; I have exalted
one chosen out of the people.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy
shall bewith him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou
art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Also I will make him
my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 His seed also will I make
to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and
as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
Psalms 89:38 But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
39Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown
by casting it to the ground.
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
41 All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
42 Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
44 Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.
46 How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
47 Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?
48 What man
is he thatliveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
49 Lord, where
are thy former lovingkindnesses,
which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants;
how I do bear in my bosom
the reproach of all the mighty people;
51Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
52 Blessed
be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
Before we get into this psalm, we should first introduce ourselves to Ethan. His name means “enduring”, as in permanently lasting. He is mentioned as being wise (just not as wise as Solomon) in 1 Kings 4:31, and I’ll include the previous verses for context. So it seems he lived during the end of David’s reign, into Solomon’s.
1Kings 4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. 30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. 31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. [emphasis mine]
The context of Ethan’s life is important enough that God saw fit to include it in the scriptures. And from this timeline, I am of the opinion that this was written about the timeframe that David had to abandon his own throne as he hid from his son Absalom. Because this Psalm is “Maschil”, it is meant to be instructive in nature. It draws parallels between the lives of David and the Lord Jesus Christ, so parts of this psalm are prophetic and give a foreshadowing of Jesus as the Messiah, who will one day rule from Jerusalem on the Throne of David.
V 1-4: God makes it clear that his covenant with David is part of his mercy to all the world. And it certainly is!
- It is only because Jesus came to fulfill God’s covenant’s with Abraham, Moses, and David, that we have the gospel today. Jesus fulfilled the promises that through Abraham all the families of the earth would be blessed. He fulfilled the law of Moses to be our perfect, spotless, sinless Lamb of God.
- He was born of the lineage and household of David, and when he returns, he WILL claim his rightful throne. And when God makes a promise, he ALWAYS keeps his word.
- So in the context of David’s life, Ezra was reminding everyone who the rightful king still was.
- And as a prophetic foreshadowing of Christ Jesus, we can count on the promise of his second coming just as sure as he we are sure that he came the first time as God promised.
V 5-14: Who can compare to the power of God? V8 calls him “O LORD God of Hosts (Jehovah Elohim Tsabah), which literally translates as “The SELF-EXISTENT ONE, who’s is the Strong One above all, who leads the armies of heaven (
as in the ranks of angels).
- He rightfully asks “who is a strong LORD like unto thee?” The implication in David’s life is that if God anointed him king, who can stop his will? (See 1 Samuel 17:45 and 2 Samuel 7:26-27/1 Chronicles 17:24).
- And the foreshadowing of Jesus is that HE IS THIS LORD OF HOSTS (see Psalm 24). Jesus is the one who leads the armies of heaven and sits in final judgment over the souls of men! (See Revelation 19:11-20:15)
V 15-18: Erza rejoiced in the protection of God.
- So many times God protected David from King Saul, and the Philistines. It was Ezra’s confidence that God would still protect him as he was running for his life.
- You can even draw the parallel that David’s own hiding was because he wanted to find a way to spare Absalom’s life (see 2 Samuel 18:12 and 2 Samuel 18:29-33).
- Likewise, so many times Jesus was spared the wrath of the Pharisees when they wanted to stone him, until the night at Gethsemane when it was his appointed hour for the salvation of the world through his death on the cross.
V 19-37: Ezra sings of God keeping his covenant with David
- God’s promise to keep David on the throne was just as valid as his promise to judge him for his sin with Bathsheba
- God’s promise to protect Israel if she was faithful was just as valid as his promise to scatter them in judgment if they failed to keep the covenant (see 2 Chronichles chapter 7).
- God’s promise to protect his children in their obedience is just as valid as his promise to correct his children in their disobedience.
- God”s promise to keep the seed of David on the throne was not broken because of the captivity, or by the death of Jesus, because he rose from the dead by his own power. He WILL keep that promise in his return!
V 38-52: Ezra now comes to the point where he presents God with his admission of his incomplete understanding of the situation. He knows God made a covenant, and keeps his promises, but he struggled to grasp why God allowed it to happen this way.
- He forgot (or at least de-emphasized) the fact that David’s running was the result of his own sin with Bathsheba.
- He focused on the present, and it disrupted his faith 8n the long-view of the future.
- We have the same problem today, where we blame God for troubles that aren’t his fault. It is our sins and the sins of others that bring the troubles we face into this world. We often want God to intervene on our behalf supernaturally because it’s convenient to us, not because it is the most righteous course of action.
- We see this also in the lives of the apostles in their reaction to the arrest and crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. It took the instruction and work of restoration by the resurrected Lord himself to change their viewpoint. But when that happened, they turned the world upside down!
- We must have this faith to be a mature Christian. We must get the long-view of God’s plan and keep that as our focus.

2023.05.27 19:51 TotallyaNinja Spirits of war
We landed on earth. We were met by an army. Not of the living. Not of the undead. But by spirits. Countless spirits of warriors. No matter where we go we face them. Warriors of countless eras and cultures... so many...
Living Humans cannot interact with them. Few can detect them at all. They know of them... tales of ghost ships, marching lines, and more. They rose to action not soon after we arrived. The living were scarier than the spirits. They waged war like no other race before.
They marched to their death knowing it was a losing battle. I watched one fall as a plasma bolt took his life. Only for his hallow spirit to rise, eyes burning with hatred and determination, and charge. They looked liked the living and as they charged we fired again... and again...
We sought to conquer humanity... how are we supposed to conquer a race in which Death cannot?
The spirits cannot harm us directly but they do not need to. They break the morale of our men with the endless taunting and war cries. They advise the warriors of the living through subtle hints that they should have no way of decrypting. They haunt us as we flee into space...
We have brought back spirits of war to our homes. Our families cannot see them. They haunt us and only us. I have spoken to blood brothers. There is but one way out. Lay down your arms, put out the flames of war in your soul, and hold your family close.
Only then can you no longer see their spirits of war. Do not take this action lightly. Repeat them until you mean it. For only when you accept peace do they hold no power.
- [Memoir of Tx-Io, The Death of a Warrior]
-----------------------------------
You cannot kill a Human. Yes, yes, even as crucible-worlder's they can be harmed. That's not what I meant. You can break their bones, rip their limbs off, and shred their tendons. But they can still survive. They can still kill you.
You can take their life but you will carry that death with you forevermore. You will feel the weight of that life taken every time you look in a mirror. Every time you think about taking up arms they will be waiting. Every time you think about anything but peace they will whisper in the back of your mind.
How do I know? Why do you think I'm an advocate for peaceful talks. I see them. Every morning I wake up I see them behind me in the mirror waiting. Waiting for what? I do not know.
In the most serene moments they judge me. When my love had our first they stood over her and I realized the burden I carry. I quit the military for a reason. I tried self medication and it only got worse. No, the only reprieve I have is when I dream of a peaceful universe one where they hold no power.
Know that I will advocate for peace until the day I see them no longer. Where we live in a peaceful universe. One where no one has to see them.
- [Interview of Ambassador Y'yov at the 21XX Galactic Summit]
-----------------------------------
Bah, Tx-Io and Y'yov are fear mongering imbeciles. Humans are tough bastards I'll grant them that. But there is no supernatural malarkey. Terrans are warriors through and through, they cannot be quelled so easily as many think.
To be from a crucible world is to have survived conditions that can sparsely bear life and should it, said life is as fierce and chaotic as the crucible it arose from. They are not creatures of physical power for a herbivore can grow large and strong.
No, the crucible they came from forged them something greater. A daunting will to survive. One so strong it cannot be explained besides genetic stubbornness. For every which way one can die, they have evolved to survive or delay.
They are fragile but they will not break. They are warriors of life. Strife and war is merely a part of their life. Attempting to challenge them in it is a fools errand. A suicidal act. A deaths wish.
Take this information and leave me. I have no interest in speaking of them any further.
- [Statement by Woti, Galactic Council Advisor]
-----------------------------------
They are built for conflict. Every part of them is. Socially? They despise it. Secretly? They all relish it.
They are mad. Do not engage them. We can only lose.
- [Interview of Ambassador Amoa'h]
-----------------------------------
Over my dead body.
- [Last transmission from U.T. David]
-----------------------------------
Trial by combat! I know this is rigged. But I ain't going out like a bitch. I'm going out swinging.
- [Last record of Terran slave in Obai Empire]
-----------------------------------
With an overwhelming majority support against declaring war on the United Terran Systems the 21XX Galactic Summit comes to a close. With powerful statements, anecdotes, and supplementary material from all around the case was closed and official treaty negotiation will go into effect soon. Many ambassadors are pardoning themselves from such a role and as such it will likely be delayed for another decacycle.

ANYWAY that being said I could use some help determining if this makes sense for the Kyoto portion of my trip. I’m about 99% sure that there are more shrines than are feasible here, but I’m having trouble figuring out which ones will take how long and which I should prioritize so I’d appreciate insight. I No Longer Feel Broken
In the years before I came to Al‑Anon, I felt persecuted—first by my own stinking thinking and secondly by the verbal abuse thrown at me by my alcoholic husband. The abuse went on for 18 years. We met as seniors in high school, and at first, we were best friends. We went to college and partied together, but years later, after our son was born, the effect of the disease manifested itself in every decision and discussion we had. I thought I was living in a mental institution, and I was becoming emotionally and mentally attached to the craziness of this disease.
I came to Al‑Anon 13 years later—broken mentally, emotionally and physically. Although I had a responsible job, my personal life was a disaster. I didn’t want serenity because I thought it was boring. I had no sense of who I was or what I needed and wanted in life.
I heard a story at my first meeting that was more disastrous than mine, and I was drawn to the spiritual words of the Serenity Prayer and the Twelve Steps. I felt accepted.
I heard, “Take what you liked and leave the rest.” For the first time, I felt that what I was doing and who I was as a person was okay. I did not feel that I was being judged, nor that I had to fit in, which gave me the willingness to keep coming back.
