I'm sure you get posts like this constantly. Please don't feel obligated to respond. I'm mostly getting my thoughts on paper so to speak. If you do read this and have advice though, that's great. I'd love to hear it.
So I've struggled with panic attacks and agoraphobia for many years. My doctor is well aware of these issues and I don't see there being any difficulties getting paperwork from her to back me up on that. I only leave my house once a month to pick up a prescription that can't be mailed. It's a rough way to live and my husband recently left me which is making everything worse.
Yesterday I had to drive to the pharmacy and decided to bring along a cat I've been babysitting for my stepdad. She's a very outgoing and confident cat but she wasn't particularly thrilled with the unexpected car ride. Thankfully it's only about two blocks from my house and I always use the drive thru. It got me thinking though... having her on the seat next to me made things easier. I'm sure I would qualify for a service dog, so I just started looking into it a few hours ago.
First of all, I've never had a dog of my own before, so that's something to keep in mind. I've been around plenty of animals, but due to my soon to be ex husband's allergies, we didn't have cats or dogs. I would say I'm very good with most pets as my anxiety kind of leads to an extreme focus on body language. I know a lot of people say that though and then you'll watch them go up and yank on a dog's tail. It's okay if you're skeptical when someone says they're good with animals. It makes me skeptical, too.
Secondly, I'm currently going through a lot of changes. There's a divorce, we'll be selling the house, and I'll be moving to a different state. Finances right now are abysmal, but we might have a lot of equity to work with soon. Nothing close to being able to afford an already trained $20,000 dog though. My plan would be to have a professional trainer work with me.
Since I'm still very much in the preliminary stages of considering a service dog, the only action I've taken so far is to email a highly rated dog training company in my area and ask if they offer assistance in choosing and training dogs for service work.
I'm concerned about whether or not I will feel more self conscious in public if people confront me about having an animal. That's why it's important to me that I have paperwork and a very well behaved dog. I don't think an ESA is right for me. Tasks I would like the dog to learn would be things that help stop a panic attack before it gets worse and possibly help distract me or act as a barrier to protect my personal space. I also tend to stare at my feet when walking in public and can bump into people or things. As for breed, I'm not overly picky, but I'd prefer a medium to large sized dog. Maybe a lab/retrieveshepherd mix? I'm not sure.
And that's all I have for now. I'm sure there are things I'm missing or haven't considered yet.

So my prom is coming up in just under 2 weeks, and I (18M) already asked out one of my female friends (18F) over a month ago since tickets went on sale pretty early at my school. She was super open to going to prom with me (I actually almost went with her last year too), and we both agreed we’d be going as friends. Now while we both live in the same town, we go to different schools, so I had to buy her tickets to my prom, and even though her prom isn’t until a few weeks after mine, she told me she was going to give her extra ticket to her (female) junior friend who brought her to their school’s junior prom a few weeks ago. (Ftr, they’re practically besties and on the same sports teams so I never found this weird.) I discussed “going” with her to that prom too by getting one of my guy friends at her school to buy me a ticket letting me meet her there, and she didn’t object to it.
I thought things were going great until we were looking at some of her recent insta posts and she told me to scroll past a photo of her with another guy, and she just said told me he was “her thing.”
While I can say we’ve only been friends, I feel like she’s been sending me mixed signals for a bit: after I asked her to prom she started replying to some of my texts with “🥰🥰🥰”, she started saying we should “hang out more” before we go to prom, and she even suggested the idea of a movie night at my house that sounded like would just be the two of us. Hey everyone I need some help. I just finished a new build and i'm getting the VGA led on my mobo and it doesn't post. This is a brand new build so I just need something to get to the bios to even start. I have tried checking all the connections, seating everything again, checking ram slots, etc. I even tried to QFlash the mobo to the most recent update which successfully completed I believe. The only thing I have seen that may or may not be an issue is the ver. of the Ram, but I'm not sure that even matters. I bought my wife the same components for her set up so I assume I'll be having this same issue with that build. Since I have those extra parts I tried using that GPU as well since its the same thing, and it yielded the same result. I also tried to boot from integrated graphics and it still didn't post.

I'm starting a very small collection of video game consoles. I already got 5 (all in their boxes), and I don't plan on opening them for at least a few years. I really wanted to shrink wrap them for an extra protection (avoid scratching the boxes etc) and to also look good. Has anyone ever done that?
I'm thinking I would need at least 30" polyolefin film to cover the boxes, but online I see all of them are industrial i.e. 3500ft and over $200, and I need way less than that.

...And I need to get this out. I'm a dog walker and just recently expanded to offering in my home boarding. My first sleepover was 2 senior (10 & 12 yrs old) Frenchies that were recommended to me by my best friend who is in the same line of work as me, but she was busy this weekend and couldn't take them. I've known the dogs through her for years. One of them is special needs - was born with multiple defects and has had multiple surgeries throughout her lifetime.
Today, I went out with my family for a few hours and put the 2 Frenchies in a large wire crate with a memory foam bed. One of my dogs was crated, and my other dog kept in my office (with the other 2 crates) with a baby gate (office door open so my dog wouldn't scratch at it).
I was gone for just over 4 hours, and came home to find the special needs Frenchie had passed away. She looked like she was sleeping but had also pooped in the crate (she has severe back end issues and couldn't always feel when she had to go so did have incontinence issues sometimes). Needless to say, it was devastating and traumatizing to find her deceased. I had to call her Mom (who just lost her own Mom less than a month ago) and tell her - and she's destroyed. I had to take her sweet dog to a pet mortuary where they will keep her there for her Mom to come back. She was due home tomorrow but started the trip home right away after I called her. Her brother in law met me at the mortuary to grab the otheg dog from me.
It's been about 10 hours since this happened and I cannot stop the tears or the guilt. I love these dogs and cannot fathom that the spunky little firecracker has passed. I keep replaying today over and over in my head trying to figure out if I did something negligent that caused this.
My best friend who is their regular caregiver insists it was just her time and that she's had many health scares in the past, and that I did nothing wrong. Deep down I know this. But I can't stop crying, and my mind keeps racing with all the "what ifs". Did I somehow miss something critical that led to this? If I hadn't have left for those few hours would this have happened?
Her mom will be having a necropsy done so I'm hoping that will shed some light. But a small part of me also fears that it will show that I did somehow mess up and cause her death - and I don't know what I'll do with myself if that's the case.
Part of me is also very triggered due to losing my Mom 4 yrs ago, and my 15 yr old lab 3 weeks after that. It was a devastating time for me, and I hate so much that my client is now going through the same thing.
It's been an exhausting day and this was truly something I needed to unload, so I'm appreciative of this sub for being here for that.
If you have pets, please cuddle them extra and send some love to my client and her beloved Frenchie.

I'm looking for components, mostly mobo + cpu + ram, to build a new PC/Workstation for hosting couple of VMs. I'm currently running Dell T7910 with Dual Xeon and 80 threads but I'm dissatisfied with single core performance. I'll be runing Proxmox (Linux) on it.
My main requirement is ability to run three separate video cards: - first for the host system (proxmox), ideally a low performance, builtin gpu, that you can find on server motherboard, rarely used - Nvidia GPU (RTX3060 or better) with GPU passthrough to a Linux VM (machine learning) - Nvidia GPU (any?) with GPU passthrough to a Windows10 VM (CAD/EDA software)
I need reasonably powerful CPU, prefferably Intel because of software I run in VMs, with high singlecore performance as most software sadly is not able to utilize lots of parallel cores. Mobo must support at least 128GB ram, ideally 256GB, ECC is not needed.
I need extra PCIE slots for extra controllers and ideally at least one NVMe slot for 2280 disk.
Any recommendations? Is there any workstation grade motherboard on the market or am I stuck with sever components only?

As the title states I'm considering buying the Lenovo Yoga 7i or the Lenovo Yoga 6. Currently the price difference between the two is $52, with the 7i being more expensive. The 7i has a slightly higher resolution screen, also slightly larger at 14" vs 13.3" on the yoga 6. The 7i also has a 512gb SSD vs. the 256gb in the yoga 6. The biggest thing I'm hung up on is how the ryzen 5 7530u with integrated radeon graphics comapres to the intel i5 1335u with intel XE graphics. The laptop will primary be for media consumption, however, I do play some games (very old titles that are not all that demanding). Unfortunately I couldn't find a lot of solid data on how these two platforms stack up to one another. For $52, having the 14" higher resolution screen and extra storage space seems like a no brainer, but if the intel CPU is going to lag behind the Ryzen, it may not be worth the additional money for me.

Eto na nga, nawala daw wallet niya and he lost 6k daw, ung pera na supposedly gagamitin niya for expenses hanggang unang sahod niya. Wala na rin ung pera n ibabayad niya para sa tutuluyan niya.
Ayun wala na daw siya food and all. So I offered to help, pahiramin muna para pangkain kasi gutom na raw siya. With all hopes na babayaran niya. In good faith naman kaya ko pinautang, baka totoo so kawawa naman kung di ko tulungan.

He told me uuwi muna siya sa nueva to ask money from his fam, kaso naubos na ung naipautang ko na money kasi (lunch dinner ata binili niya) so he ASKED for money, babayaran niya daw. Ayun di muna ako nagreply agad, tinimbang ko muna. Nagchat pala siya nakatambay daw siya sa labas ng establishment. Naawa ako, like sobra. I don’t want that for anyone, kaya ayun nagsend ako pamasahe niya. Tas ayun he asked for a little extra pa kasi kulang daw ng pang trike. I sent. And ayun umuwi na siya.

I don’t understand what benefits signing up for a work study would give me as opposed to just earning the regular salary from my job.
