I picked this GPU version specifically because it has 2 HDMI outputs. 2 of my 3 screens only have HDMI or DVI-D. Keep that in mind if you're going to recommend a different brand/GPU.
 
One thing to note, the power supply in this build is a "EVGA Supernova 750 G3" that I still have lying around. It hasn't been used at all but it does not have a 12VHPWR cable for the GPU. Will the GPU come with it's own cable? Can I simply buy one from somewhere if it doesn't? Do I really need to buy a new PSU?
 
I tried to pick the best case to prevent dust/cat hair. This is very important. I'm very happy with my current NZXT case (H710?). If you have better suggestions for a case than the Corsair 4000D feel free to link it.

This topic has been brought up a few times and I've seen some posts, though I wanted to clarify since I'm not super savvy with monitors and the latest GPU's. I'm planning on doing a huge rebuild after 10+ years of using my current setup. For context, the new build would be rocking a 4090 FE & AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
I'll try n' run through my thought process in short bullet points and hopefully it'll help ya'll to understand what I'm getting at so you can answer questions easier ;) I'm Autistic so just wrapping my head around things just to make sure I know what I'm doing before I actually have any new gear in front of me. May not fully understand the tech but trying to get to grips with it!

• I know peeps can get really into colour depths, pixel densities, etc - Not something I understand or take deep interest in. I've been on an Acer GN246HL for a long time, so simply getting a G9 would I'm sure look phenomenal in comparison. I guess I just need to know what it will be capable of.

• DSC / DP 1.4 - I don't fully understand it so here's a question if you can ELI5: Will the 4090 run general usage & games at 240hz consistently?
  • For instance; League of Legends & Age of Empires support ultrawide. Is it a case that the 4090 simply won't handle it at 240hz due to issues with DSC / DP 1.4 OR is it based more on performance of the game and what settings are used?
  • What can it run at 240hz over DP 1.4? - Certain colour settings need to be enabled / disabled? Massive drop in performance or quality when this happens?

Just want to clarify this because making use of the ultrawide and 240hz simultaneously is tremendous but knowing where it can and can't do this is very helpful.

  • What changes would I make in the settings on the monitor or in Windows?

I'm not a stickler for the insane quality people compare between these crazy monitors and it's more about the immersive size & refresh rate to me, so I don't feel the need to demand 5120x1440 be used in every game. For instance Escape from Tarkov doesn't support ultrawide, which is fine. This means I can just use Fancy Zones or something on the G9 or Windows to resize easily and have the sides of the monitor for Discord / Wiki's / Etc?

• I've read posts & comments here and there on how the G9 has had issues some time ago though was possibly updated, including firmware updates - How would this impact a purchase now?

  • Issues with QLED?
  • Some reports of flickering on 240hz - Was this individual users or a common occurrence; has it been fixed?

I only need the Beard Oil for Kappa but I just cannot find it. I've checked the Tarkov wiki and it actually listed a few ""more common"" locations for the item - but I have not found it yet. Been running mainly Interchange for the past 5 days, and looted about 700 stashes so far. I always check the metal shelf at the power station but I think the wiki is not up to date anymore at this point... I even found all of the other items multiple times too

I've followed the exact build that appears on the Tarkov wiki for the 100 round mag version, as it turns out that the 60 round one can't be bought from flea. Still, it does not meet the specs, specifically the ergonomics. Is the Wikipedia outdated, or am I really missing out on something? Edit: just fixed it thanks to YouTube, but the wiki 100 round build does not work anymore, please contact the mods about it. The build that works (100 round version) is using a MP7A1 stock, 1 rail on each side for extra ergo, an ACOG sight instead of the Prism 2,5x, and a skeletonized pistol grip. With that, I was able to turn it in.

Does anyone know which gun actually has the lowest base recoil? Tarkov wiki says you get more xp for the recoil control skill with each bullet, the higher the base recoil is. I want to see how much and how fast you could lvl it.

• I would like like to be able to play Rust 1080p at 50-60fps, Escape from Tarkov 1080p at 50-60 fps, Sid Meier's Civilization VI, Destiny 2 at 1080 60 fps, modded Minecraft, modded Fallout NV, and modded Skyrim. Also other miscellaneous FPS games at 1080p. All of this on a 27" monitor. If higher fps is capable I am all for it that just being the baseline. I would also like to have a second 24" or 27" monitor but I don't think I'll use it too much besides maybe having a wiki open. I also would use this PC for lighter work such as Excel or Word.

I would like to have 2 monitors. I would also like to have lots SSD space though it's not a huge priority to start. WIFI-Capable is a requirement as I won't be able to run ethernet immediately.

I would prefer minimal LED lighting and would like to maximize the keeping the temperature low. I don't care too much about how it looks I just don't want a monstrosity. Black is preferred but not required.

Yes I need windows included in the budget. Windows 10 or 11 is fine.

However does this mean I'll get the quest in 1-8hrs? I haven't finished peacekeeping mission, tarkov shooter part 7, decontamination service or living high is not a crime pt 2. These are all quests listed on the wiki which I thought had to be completed prior to unlocking network provider but this message has me stumped!! I don't have the quest available to be accepted yet but my understanding is that it's time gated?
Can anyone shed any light on if this is a bug and I should continue to work on the above quests or prep for the lightkeeper quests?

I am asking a question about other communities for tarkov where I can get actual useful information and in general a better informational experience.
Before you say wiki, I am talking communities.
Usually, Reddit is pretty good about having updates, changes, tips and tricks, funny moments for other games.
However, as bad as the cheaters are, and desync and all the other bullshit, I am tired of it being the only thing I see.
I am aware of the official EFT Discord, but I don’t seem to get that “spot itched”
If anyone has any other forums, or communities that you frequent for tarkov that do not seem like nothing but a complaint show please let me know!

Hello Stalkers,
Apologies in advance if this is not on topic for the sub, I (briefly)tried looking for a Roadside Pinic sub but the most "popular" one hasn't been active for a while now. Apologies in advance for the tangents :)
To provide some context, I am taking a deep dive into the fascinating world of all that encompasses the STALKER trilogy, the aforementioned book and its surreal film adaptation. Tarkovsky's film has obviously come up a lot as a timeless piece of art itself, and has obviously influenced this genre of games and universe. I love longer movies, and love so many things about the film that would be better suited for a standalone post. I have always had an inclination and curiosity around the real world Chernobyl NPP disaster and its effects on the immediate surrounding area and of course its impact to our earth, and generations to come. I watched the excellent HBO mini-series about the event a while ago before even discovering the world of STALKER, and will go into deep-dives into the wiki/articles from time to time to learn more about what caused it, what the immediate response was, the implications and handling of the event by the USSR, the history behind the book and the roadblocks the Strugasky brothers faced to get this magnificent book into our hands.
I stumbled across the STALKER series in my search of related/inspired media of the CPP disaster, and wanting to find a game as immersive & challenging as Escape from Tarkov (knowing it's many, many flaws and prolonged sate, as well as the problem with cheaters). Despite wanting to sink thousands of hours to play each game and discover as many anomalies in The Zone, I instead opted to download GAMMA and watch Avalanche's Reviews amazing in-depth retrospect of the trilogy, Anomaly standalone, and the inspiration behind the games (planning to watch his video on the Metro series next). I only have about 20 hours in GAMMA and really want to explore the game more, but I'm in a rough patch at this point in my life and will get to it when the time is right.
I finally got my hands on the book, and I am happy that I came across it. I'm sure the words are out there somewhere, but I cannot express the satiation I got from reading the book. I'm just happy to have come across this work of literature, and can see its influence on the games and resonate a lot with the character of Redrick and his journey into the Zone.
To start wrapping this post up, I want to give my take and rendition on the book and want to incorporate elements of the game trilogy as well into a graphic novel. I acknowledge this is easier said than done, and very much so want to stay true and honor the source material and fans of the series, while showcasing my unique vision. I pride myself as a writer ironically and would have to see about hiring an illustrator, pitch to a publisher, etc.
My question to you, fellow Stalkers; assume I have good intentions and that IP/copyright issues have been sorted out, would you rather see something "original" and more in-line with the novel, or would you want to see the world of the game brought to this medium?

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Mostly League of Legends, streaming and recording. I would like to play Tarkov with more than sub 30fps. I've owned it for a long time, but it's practically unplayable and I'd really like to, preferably taking advantage of my monitor. There are some single player games I want to play as well.

1080, 144fps, multiple monitors (sometimes) with the 2nd being 60hz. High settings in Tarkov but will settle for smooth play.

Looking at the 5800x3d and 6700xt, and just upgrading to 32gb of RAM. Reusing mobo, case, powersupply (if psu ends up not being enough will upgrade).

Trying to decide if overkill? I'm really not sure what games I will play if I'm being honest, but would like to play/record/stream League without any hiccups at max fps, high bitrate, high frame recording. And again, Tarkov, being able to play at high fps, and potentially stream.
Current build is 4gb rx480, ryzen 5 2600, 8gb ram.
So I'm guessing whatever I do will be a big upgrade.
edit: I don't really plan on going to a higher resolution for quite a while unless I start making more money and have it to blow.
