When I try and make a 'spruce chest' or 'acacia barrell' for instance, they always come out as the minecraft basic type. This happens even when it specifices in the crafting table that it is an alternative variant, like the ones mentioned above. Any ideas? Any similar experience?

I am NOT talking about toxic players who are rude and inconsiderate.
What I am talking about is those players who care so much about the game that they make sure to craft the perfect character, usually for combat, by taking the right levels, feats, etc. These players care so much; they are invested!! They want to do things they couldn’t do in real life AKA ROLE PLAY. Give them this opportunity!!
Their carefully crafted build is HUGE for role-play.. is their character particular about certain things? Attention detailed? A long term planner to the point they lose sight of the present? I embrace their build and help them see the role play aspect of it as well. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT. I Ask them, “what’s your goal for this build?” If they want a level in hex blade, well they need to find a patron don’t they? That could be an entire 3-4 sessions right there.
I love my rules lawyers. I even ask them about rules in game because I know they can give me an answer faster than I can look it up. This empowers them, and speeds the game up at the same time! Rules Lawyers are just DMs in training, so I really try to cultivate that.
They can be so useful too! I usually ask my “min/maxers” to help some of the new players level up, or even help them make their character. For some reason it comes across better from a player than from the DM.
These players are passionate about the game, and it just feels good to have players at the table who make it so obvious they care about the game.
If any of my players are reading this, DANIEL, I love you and your Aasimar Sorcerer Hexblade, but Ryan, your 19 passive perception can go to hell.
Edit: I know my players follow me on reddit, so the dig on Ryan’s passive is obviously a joke.

A little back story: a little over a week ago, I had pain and swelling in my big toe. I thought I had injured it and just not realized it. After raising it and icing it enough that I could put a shoe on without much pain, I went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with gout. I was given colchicine and prednisone, and I did a blood test. The colchicine did wonders… although I misunderstood some of what the doctor said and had beer that night. 😬 So the next day. I was a little worse, but not as bad as before the pill. My UA level was 6.5, which they said wasn’t too high but my symptoms were still normal for gout.
I have drank craft beer, 12-16 cans a week and mostly IPAs, for 12 years or so. I have no doubt that the beer has led to my condition. I have seen a few posts on here that say diet can drop your UA by one point, and that you can reach a point of saturation (I think that was the term… I may have that wrong) at 6.0. So my question is, since my current UA is less than a full point from saturation, am I in a position to control my gout with diet - namely, by cutting out beer and possibly red meat? I never eat organ meats and rarely have sea food.
I already drink at least a full gallon of water everyday - I did 75 Hard last year and didn’t stop that. I could probably drink more…. But I’m really drinking water most of the time throughout the day.
I really would like to avoid medication. I already have hypertension and am on lisinopril, which I am to understand has some complications with allo and unfortunately is another contributor to high UA levels.
Also, I’ve seen some contradictory posts here as well as articles on the internet about two things: dairy and walking. Is dairy good for gout or bad for gout? What about walking?

In the latter years of the Horus Heresy, isolated reports, collated by Imperial scribes from war zones throughout the galaxy, began to describe a horrifying new threat to Loyalist forces. The fragmentary reports, teased from incoherent, near-insane individuals, survivors wracked and broken by the horrors of what they had witnessed, told of an apparition that haunted the fields of battle – a being of sheer terror. Blacker than the deepest void but with a form that shifted and rebuilt as it prowled, the abomination was unaffected by the physical restraints of reality and seemed to hunt with an extrasensory perception of its prey and surroundings. It would dissolve and reform into the very thing that those it hunted feared most, spawning armaments of nightmarish aspect to tear its victims apart in a tailored agony. Such a being – a weapon given animus – was originally suspected to have been a product of the clandestine temples of the Officio Assassinorum, but even investigation at the highest level of access priority yielded no information of a clade of killers of this form

Osmeotic Regeneration

To an Infernus Abomination the briefest physical contact with the flesh of living, or even recently deceased, acts as if it were a narcotic substance, invigorating a powerful and overwhelming bloodlust. Simple blood or muscle cells are consumed to fuel the murder-instinct of the Infernus but of particular potency are the tissues of the brain and nervous system. With the ingestion of cerebral matter, saturated with the darkest thoughts and deepest fears of the being it once constituted, an Infernus Abomination nourishes its physical form, its sundered flesh and torn musculature knitting together anew.

Boneshard Spitter

The horrifying, gore-soaked appendages of an Infernus Abomination morph and distend into an almost limitless number of biological forms but often take the shape of a cluster of orifices, each lined with rows of tooth-like spikes or shards of splintered bone, coated in a gloss-black bio-toxic ichor. With a sharp contraction the Abomination is able to launch these growths in a hail of shredding projectiles that cause the blood in the veins of their targets to thicken and clot in a dark spider web that rapidly spreads from the site of even the slightest puncture wound.

Transmutative Armaments

To look upon an Infernus Abomination is to observe a thing of utter darkness, less simply black and more the absolute antithesis of light itself. Even at rest, the Infernus is said to be of a constantly shifting form, both growing and contracting like the ceaseless billowing of a thunderhead before the breaking of a storm; its skin visibly crawling with a barely-restrained yearning to butcher and flay all living things. The tools with which it indulges its base desires can seemingly be conjured at will, its human-like limbs transmuting in a horrifying contortion of bone and sinew to form savagely barbed blades, viscous flailing tentacles or fans of razor talons dripping with poisons, in the blink of an eye.

Unlike the synthetic suits used by operatives of the Assassin Clades that wraithskin appears to mimic, it is not a closely guarded technological treasure. They are an abhorrent fusion of forbidden craft networked with a psy-conductive matrix that draws power from the negative emotions of its wearer, selectively amplifying and concentrating them. Instead of working in harmony with the anatomy of the wearer to enhance their capabilities, a wraithskin effectively overrides the neural impulses controlling motor functions. The resulting effect is continuous agony as tendons are ripped, muscles are torn and bones fractured as the body is pushed beyond the thresholds of its normal capabilities. For the Infernus Abomination, this vicious cycle of self-destruction and regeneration must be sustained by continuous hunting and killing.

I have a beautiful jacket in a jersey fabric that has these hardened food stains on the lapel. I can't remember how or when it happened I just realized one day when I was going to work in it. The house is dark in the morning which I why I didn't notice until I was outside and it was the first time wearing it in months due to weather.
I've tried a stain remover and scratching the residue off but it doesn't work effectively - and I've damaged some of the fibres (I can darn them).
I imagine I need to soak it to soften the residue enough to remove it. But I'm not sure if I need to use a specific solution. Any suggestions would be amazing.

I made a post earlier about this, so I went ahead and started working on the armor that said it would take 2 seasons to make. Like I was told, the proficiencies needed went up and the time requirement (when I checked the item in the crafting menu) went down to 1 week. But it certainly feels like it’s been a lot longer. Not helping things is that I’m losing a lot of weight because of the intense labor and to combat this I starting eating a lot of my food; going through my quickest to rot first. Now that’s become a problem since the best things for that are fruits that I scavenge, but those are generally low calories and will often rot before I’m able to finish them.
I’m at 66% and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to continue. I feel like I should just debug the armor in at this point. It feels like I only get 1 percent done every six hours.

Galadriel scoffed, continuing to work. "Ah, how decent of him. You'll forgive my hesitation to--" Her blue eyes went wide as she saw what was clearly a love potion disguised badly as her favorite drink.
The goddess's blood boiled and she shook with fury. How dare that monster attempt to deceive her so disgustingly. His depravity truly knew no bounds...... Galadriel was about to smash it when she got an idea.
".......thank you," she replied coolly, calming down enough to smile politely at the shadow. "I..... appreciate his thoughtfulness. I will need time to think.....I do not give an answer yet. Will that suffice for now?"
The creature smirked and bowed. "Of course, my lady. Enjoy." He disappeared, and Galadriel considered the vial in her slim white fingers.
So, this is how he wanted to play it, then? Well, if he was willing to give her the perfect cover, remove any suspicion of rebellious motives or discontent from her, while also allowing her into his kingdom, his confidence, his bed.....exposing his soft underbelly, as it were.....then who was she to refuse?

HOW TO USE IT?
