Introduction:
Hey everyone, I'm Charlie (20 y.o., he/him), and I'm looking for 4 players to run Pathfinder: Kingmaker 2e (or maybe something else, I'm easily persuaded!) for! This is going to be quite a long post, as I only want to filter through people I already know would be a great fit for the game, so please bear with me!

About You:

• I'm looking for players with at least some experience in other somewhat crunchy d20 systems. DnD 5e, 4e, 3.5e, Worlds/Stars without Number, PF1e, Starfinder, d20 modern, 13th Age, anything OSR, etc. Experience in PF2e is greatly appreciated, but not necessary! As long as you get basic arithmetic, and how dice and modifiers work, you'll be good to go!
• I'm looking for an enthusiastically inclusive table. I'm queer myself, and far too many people in the tabletop space are queer for there to be bigoted tables.
• I'm looking for people between the ages of 18-30, but if you're above that, feel free to apply anyways! I will generally turn down people below the age of 18, however.

Important Stuff:

• Ideally, we'll be playing every Tuesday from about 6-11pm CST. This time can be negotiated slightly, but the Tuesday evening frame cannot be shifted.
• We will typically take a break halfway through, for some mental recharge and some dinnesnack/drink harvesting.
• If we have a group that is overwhelmingly new to the Pathfinder 2e system, we will spend 2-3 sessions running the Beginner's Box with pregenerated characters.
• If we are not entirely new to the system, we might run the Beginner's Box anyways! It's a great way to get to know your players and GM and is generally good fun.
• We will be using discord for voice/video, and FoundryVTT for gameplay. I have not run a fully online campaign before, so this is a bit of new territory for me!
• As noted in the note above, we will likely be using video in our games. It is not necessary for every moment and every session, but please only apply if you are comfortable with displaying video.
• Please have a good mic and audio setup! There is far too much hassle that comes with constant crackling and cutting out.

About Me:
Throughout my 13 years of TTRPG experience, I've played a variety of games - from B/X, to 3.5, to 5e, to Lancer, to PbTA, to BitD, and now PF2e, which I've been playing in for about 2 years, and running for about 1.
The greatest thing I've learned with my experience is that the GM is ultimately a player too, with just a little bit more power. I love roleplaying and improv, I love tactical and crunchy combat, I love designing levels and creatures and stories, but most of all, I love collaborating with the brilliant people I meet at my tables, and throwing all pre-determined narratives and ideas to the side for the sake of which is novel and made at the table. TTRPGs are all about having fun and making shit up with a group of friends, and no matter what game or system or table we play at, I hope that we can achieve that.
Outside of this, I'm a huge music and film nerd. I'm current a student studying classical voice, and most of my time is divvied up between singing, watching movies, thinking about TTRPGs, and maybe playing some FFXIV.

I’m well passed late to the party, I know, but I just watched Ant-Man: Quantumania and…what is this movie lol.
I want it to be known for starters, this is not a pure hatred post, I did ENJOY the movie. However I am speaking on a more comics focused perspective (much like a book viewers perspective to Harry Potter) and it just doesn’t work for me.
First off, the tone. It tries so hard in the first half to feel mysterious, ominous and frightening. When all it’s met with is mediocrity. The quantum realm is shown with nothing but bright and vibrant pretty colors and creatures and people. Then they reference HIM, the aaaall ominous and terrifying HIM…but nothing goes to show why he is powerful, at least not yet. I’m a sucker for the whole “show, don’t tell” rule as you can imagine.
Secondly, and let’s just get this out of the way, MODOK…why is he even in this movie lol. Say what you will on looks, he just did not hit that FEELING of unrelenting arrogance and power. MODOK is supposed to be full of himself, though in measurable reason-as he is a high level robotics and engineering intellectual mind. In this movie? Dumb as a stump!! He is like the hulk or drax or korg for crying out loud!! His final moments are spent as a joke and each time he’s on screen he’s treated as one because, well, HE IS ONE!!
Now finally, for my final part…Kang. Let me expand on this firstly. Kang? Was the best thing in this movie for me-and all due credit is given to Jonathan Majors (I am more than aware of his current ongoing legal issues, of which I do not support and am horribly appalled by). His portrayal screamed nothing short of all that Kang is: a conqueror. To be a figure of power, sheer confidence, willpower, drive and more is required. And he brings this in spades-not only this but he DOES portray the arrogant and self righteous ruler that he is! To boot, whenever he had moments of heart, moments to reflect and show his true underlying character? I swear he was the only person with true humanity to them, all others felt cliche to me.
Which lies my next problem. This Kang, self proclaimed to be exiled by THE council of Kangs…because they feared him. What this means is he is close to being the most powerful version of Kang…who gets taken down by ants and a guy who shrinks and grows. The figure, who can travel across space and time, dominate entire universes and then conquer the next? THE power house who killed hundreds of versions of the avengers; which do include mind you Thor, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange-arguable massive power houses in the MCU to date…is beaten by ants…and a guy who grows and shrinks. I will leave this final thought: next avengers film-Avengers: Kang Dynasty. Huge, right? Daunting, terrifying, ominous, down right horrifying.
Just go get antman :) if he can’t beat antman, but supposedly can kill all of these avengers? There’s your ace in the sleeve! ANT MAN AND ALL HIS ANTS!!!
For any and all who did love this movie, all the love and wishes and good things in your future blessed on you. Truly. For the causal movie goer who loved this movie? I so hope you win a million dollars tomorrow and you see your grandma.

So i was told that anarchism is idealist. Unscientific. When arguing about whether socialism or anarchism are better alternatives to capitalism.
I was told authoritarianism, its good. Free speech is a tool of oppression, that there needs to be a strong state, to enforce the will of the working class.
Im a leftist not just because it seems to be a better system that would have a more sustainable distribution of resources, but because I think it is morally right.
I think its absolutely evil that a man in a suit can profit off of healthcare, when he plays no part in the treatment of people. I think its evil that a man can profit off the labor of others.
This person defended the regime of Stalin and Lenin, and also praises North Korea, he said North Korea is the closest to true communism.
But.... in my opinion from what little I have read on this subject, conquest of bread and currently the ABC of anarchism. Anarchy is true communism. True communism can not have a state.
The argument also was all the millions who died in these regimes, the anarchists who were killed, the unions who were suppressed is "good" because it just is. When I said its wrong, he said "socialism isnt a moral argument, morality is a social construct." Which is easy to say when youre not the one under the boot of the state.
But in reality, during the soviet era, according to Alexander Berkman, the soviets and Lenin actually took power from the working class organizations that were formed. The peasants and workers took it upon themselves to seize the means of production without a state.

The workers clearly did not need a state to take matters in their own hands. This is anarchy at work. Lenin actually betrayed the revolution.
The argument then was that "Oh yeah? Ask an anarchist to describe how society would work, and he will describe feudalism!"
This just shows a clear misunderstanding of anarchism. This is more of an an-cap view or a libertarian (american version) view. Where they really just want unregulated capitalism, which yes, would be somewhat similar to feudalism.
Me and this guy ended up disagreeing hard when he praised oppression by the state, and Stalin. When I said I dont agree with that, i was told i am not a real leftist. He said Marxism-Leninism is the real left.
I told him, I simply can not agree with Marxism-Leninism.
He said "oh so youre one of those why i left the left types!!!!!" which idek what that meant.

Hi all, I know this is an old issue but I'm hoping to revive it and see if someone has a new fix since none of the existing ones I can find are working.
Platform: Steam
My system: 6700XT, Ryzen 7 3700x, Windows 10
Issue: The Launcher will run. Selecting "Options" makes the Launcher flash but nothing opens. Selecting to play the game either results in the Launcher flashing and nothing opening, OR, depending on my settings, it fully blacks out my screen and crashes my GPU beyond use, forcing me to hard reboot by holding my desktop's power button down.
Attempts I've made to fix (and that have failed):

• Tried running it in administrator mode
• Tried running it with only 1 core, only 2 cores, only 3 cores, only 4 cores using affinity settings
• Tried using CDPR's advice by going into the registry editor and changing the pathing
• Tried using the command prompt to launch with the various affinities pre-set
• Updated graphics drivers
• Verified the game files more than once, and tried deleting all the executables and directx plugins and reverifying them
• Tried opening in various compatibility modes\

any other ideas? :( I've never played and I would really like to.

Calibrations
A few days ago, I suggested that Calibrations could be a way to do Interior content, as well as to moderate the Engineering grind. Well, I thought I'd expand on that here, without the Interiors focus.
There are several core issues with engineering. One of those is that players don't really know what they want before they get it. If you go grind mats to get focused pulse lasers, but they turn out to be terrible, you'll be really discouraged from going for something else. Making a major grind a requirement just to try out some common engineering effects is a harsh approach.
Another issue is that some weapons simply aren't worth using without engineering effects. Torpedoes are the most notable case, where they're basically ONLY good with Reverb Cascade. But that means unlocking an engineer JUST for those, and that's annoying.
The basic premise of Calibrations is simple.
An example of what a calibration minigame might look like. There could be different minigames for different modules.
Players can do a calibration minigame to improve the performance of(IE, temporarily engineer) some or multiple of their internal modules. The better they do at the minigame, the better the results of the calibrations. The main limiting factor will be time; it takes some time to do the minigame, maybe you'll need to do it multiple times to be successful, and you need to do it for each individual module. The effects of these calibrations will wear off after a preset time period. For weapons, it'd be after a certain number of shots, while other modules will either fade after a certain amount of time, or a certain number of uses.
This inherently makes Calibrations more useful for smaller vessels with less internal modules. A sidewinder could fairly easily calibrate both their weapons, but a Challenger or T10 would be spending so much time calibrating it wouldn't be worth it. This would encourage using the Engineering system instead, for more permanent effects.
Calibrations would function somewhat similarly to engineering; you choose an effect, and on success, it takes you up to, say, G3 effectiveness. This provides a powerful bonus, but still maintains the usefulness of engineering. It would basically be a middle ground between the two.
Even engineered ships could find benefits from calibrations. For example, a player fighting near an installation could calibrate their weapons for Smart Rounds(an effect currently never used) to avoid accidentally damaging the installation. After the calibration fades, the normal effect would return.
Wouldn't it be nice to NOT get a fine from hitting this?
Ultimately, Calibrations would serve as a teaser and middle ground between unengineered and engineered ships, as well as offering utility to combat ships wanting different options on the fly. It could allow players to try out different engineering effects without the harsh grind, but without removing the benefits of engineering entirely. It could make the game better both for newer players and older players alike.

So this happened back in 2020, during the summer. I was 18 at that time, working a summer job at a local beach bar. I had just gotten my driver's licence and my first car. That day I was working the night shift, I got to work at 6pm and got off around 2am. For reference, I live in a suburb that has a max of 10000 permanent residents. There are more people during the summer, as many people rent vacation properties because the beach is literally 5-10 minutes away on foot.
I got off work and on the drive back home, I felt kind of nauseous (I had eaten a chicken sandwich at work, maybe the chicken had gone bad), so I thought a soda would make me feel better. In my country, we have these small 'shops' (you can find them in every corner). It's more like a kiosk where you can buy refreshments, chips, ice cream etc. So because my city is a small suburb, there is only one of these kiosks that is oppen 24/7. I drive there and park my car directly in front of the kiosk with my hazard lights on, as I was only parking there for just one minute.
As I exit my car, I notice that right across the street there is a man sitting on the hood of his car, looking right at me. As soon as I saw the way he was looking at me, I knew he was looking for pray. He was around 45-47yrs old, short and chubby, with a bald spot on the top of his head. I ignore him, I grab a soda from the kiosk's fridge, I pay and I get back in my car. The moment he saw that I was heading back to my car, he got in the driver's seat in a rush and drove off. I knew something was fishy so I didn't take my eyes off that car. He thought he was being all smart and shit, because he drove a few meters ahead and he parked his car on the side of the road, in a spot that you wouldn't be able to see him unless you had witnessed him park, and he turned off his lights and engine.
I start my car and drive past him, acting as if I hadn't seen him. Just then, he starts up the car and follows me. He wasn't riding on my bumper, thinking that I wouldn't suspect anything if he kept a safe distance. Just because I was sure he was following me, I had already made a plan. I call 911 (not the number we use in my country, I live in Europe) and I tell the operator that I think a guy is following me and I need them on the line as I am about to make a few turns to confirm that he is following me. So I choose to go around the block, and get back to the same point, as that would mean that he was for sure following me, I mean why would someone go around the block just to get to the same spot they were before, if they know where they are going they wouldn't need to do that.
So as you can imagine, he turned every single time I turned and we now both are right where he started following me. That's when I look at my rearview mirron and spell the licence plate to the 911 operator. She wasn't even saying anything, so I tell her: '' Please stay on the line just in case anything happens, I'm gonna lead him right to the police station ''. The police station was straight ahead from where we were, so I shift gears and drive faster. He does too. The police station is not visible if you're driving and looking straight, you would have to turn your head to the left in order to spot it. So I slam the brakes right outside the police station, and I pull to the side. He pulls up from the left, his car is now right next to mine, I roll down my window and he rolls the window on the passenger's side. Before he was able to say anything, I point with my finger and I show him the police station. He turns his head and he sees it. There was a cop guarding the outside door. I tell him: 'See where I brought you? You wanna follow me you pervert, let's go to the cops right now.' I hadn't even finished my sentence and the guy sped off so fast he didn't even roll up his window.
I hang up the phone to the police and I watch his car turn left and dissapear. I stay there for a few minutes, just to make sure he's gone gone, and I drive to my house, which is also straight ahead, just two streets above the police station. I get in my house, but I first check my surroundings, because I was paranoid, thinking he was hiding in a bush or smth. I wake my mom up and tell her all about it. She asked me for the number of his licence plate was but I had already forgotten it.
A month goes by, and I was again coming back home from the night shift. This time I hadn't eaten anything at work and I was very hungry, so I stop at that kiosk again to buy some chips. FYI, there isn't any other place to buy food at that time, no restaurant in my city is open 24/7. I look around and check if the man was there, since I suffered from ptsd because of my last experience in this kiosk. I buy the chips and as I am paying I hear a car pulling up across the street. Sure enough, there he was, coming out of the car and sitting on the hood, as if he was reenacting our first encounter.
He starts staring at me again. It felt as if he didn't remembed what had happened the last time. So I was like, no, this time, I'm calling the cops on you. I get in my car, and of course he rushes to get in his. I call 911 an I explain that the situation. I tell the operator that this is the SAME man that did this to me a month ago. She told me to wait there and that she would send a few officers over, but that it might take some time until they get here. So I thought, since this guy is now making me lose sleep, I might as well have some fun. Also, note that he seemed a little bit retarded. As if he had some kind of mental issue.
So for the next 40 minutes, he would copy my every move. I got out of the car, he got out of the car. I got back in, he got back in. I started the engine, he started the engine. I turned on the lights, he turned on the lights. This little game was going on for the whole 40 minutes. A few times, I tricked him into thinking that I would actually drive off, so he drove a few meters, checked if I was coming, and then did a U turn and came back. After these long 40 minutes, 4 officers on bikes arrrive at the scene. I immediately point at him and say: 'That's the guy'. He was sitting at the hood of his car so he couldn't just drive off this time.
The two policemen start asking him questions, and the other two ask me for my ID and my version of events. After I explained everything to them, they do a quick search of his car and they find some rope in his trunk. That didn't proove anything though. At some point, this guy started walking up to me, yelling at me, saying: ' I don' t know you miss, when did I ever cause you any trouble, I've never seen you before, I didn't do anything to you! '. The policemen stopped him right away. I was infuriated so I replied and said: ' Yeah right act as if you don't know me you piece of shit, you followed me home a month ago, don't you remember? '. He insisted, telling the police officers that he hadn't done anthing and that he had no idea who I was or what I was talking about.
After the police officers collected all of the information they needed, they pulled me aside (one of them was watching him) and they informed me about my options. Me, being naive and not knowing many things about the law, I listened to the police officers, who basically told me that there was no point in pressing charges. He hadn't taken any action. He hadn't physically hurt me. So taking him to court is basically pointless. That's what they said.
They told him to get in his car and leave. They asked me if I needed anything and I hesitated but I eventually asked them if they could escort me to my home because I wasn't feeling safe after that.
A year goes by. It's 2021. It is around that same time that guy had followed me home the year before. I am sitting in the living room with my mom, watching the news. And this title appears on screen: 48 yr old man tried to abduct a 13 yr old girl riding the bike to her home in _____(the name of my city). They show a blurred picture of him on the news. I immediately knew it was him. There were no public pictures of the guy yet. I tell my mom: 'It's the guy that followed me home, I'm sure it's him'. I sit and watch the whole coverage on the case. It happened in broad day light. They found sleeping pills in his car. He was calling her beautiful and he was following her with his car as she was riding her bike back home. He asked her if she needed a ride and when she declined the offer, he started shouting at her and demanding that she gets in his car now. The girl escaped and went straight to her parents and they called the police.
I immediately got dressed and went to the police station to give my statement. I sat there three hours, recalling every moment from those two times he tried to follow me. There were phone call records where I was saying the licence plate. There were police records from the time I called the police on him. At the end, they showed me a picture of him and I confirmed that I recognised him.
After the trial, he was sentenced to 6 months in prison and 6 months house arrest. Do I think that's enough? Absolutely not. But at least I know that I did everything in my power so that he would get locked up. I know I could have pressed charges but honestly the officers made me think there was no point in doing that. Also, I had just finished school, it's not that I am all wise now but life has taught me a few lessons since then.

For the record. It is an amazing arc and croc-sensei did spectacularly on it. I just think it didn't reach its peak potential. Structurally I think some of the battles should be reorganized. In my rewrite most of the arc will stay the same, though there will be new sequences and new characters.
Hashira training arc preemptive rewrites:
In order for my Infinity castle rewrite to work I'll have to add a character that's introduced in this training arc. Though the rewrites here aren't that extensive so it's just a small section.
First off, I didn't like how the Demon Slayer corps didn't even attempt to fill in the empty spots for Hashira left behind by Kyojuro and Tengen. So here I am introducing a new character that is going to be Rengoku's former Tsuguko and now the current Flame Hashira as she has replaced Rengoku after his death. I don't wanna put too much thought into names or this will come off as fanfiction so I'll just call her Yurei for convenience sake.
The basic character profile is that she was student under Kyojuro after he saved her from a Demon that killed her family yada yada. She always lived in the shadow of her fellow senior disciple-mate Mitsuri Kanroji who was also a student of Kyojuro's and originally the first pick to be his Tsuguko. That was until Mitsuri decided she wanted to be a Hashira herself and entered the ranks without replacing anyone. So the Tsuguko position fell to Yurei being the second choice for Rengoku's succession. So there's a bit of jealousy between this new character has Mitsuri.
She is teaches one of the rounds of the Hashira training that takes place before Mitsuri. It focuses on [insert cool anime martial art aspect here]. The point here is that Tanjiro isn't liked by the new Hashira and is purposefully and unfairly withholding him from progressing to the next round. Stemming from jealousy that Tanjiro was there in Rengoku's last moments and she felt like he valued him more as an apprentice despite never officially being his master. The goal here for Tanjiro would be to resolve this inferiority complex and show that Tanjiro is just a nice dude that doesn't want to steal other people's mentors.
She stops hating on Tanjiro but tells him to make sure he completes Mitsuri's training round faster than he did her's to prove her regimen is more difficult that Mitsuri's. That's it for Hashira training.
Muzan's conversation with Kagaya Ubuyashiki Rewrite:
This entire scene in the Infinity Castle arc I thought was perfection and really no need for changes. This is simply my alternative version that includes some cool ideas. So if you don't want to hear it and just want to see my rewrites for things I thought could be improved, you can skip this section.
So my alternative for this scene keeps basically all the dialogue in the exact same way it was depicted in the manga but has a new scene after it. Instead of Kagaya kamikazing his own home, he unsheathes a family heirloom sword with a pitch-white blade. Now I know what you're thinking. Kagaya isn't a fighter, and that's part of his charm that you don't need to be physically strong to be a good leader. But hear this out.
I am going by logic that since the Ubuyashiki family were the first victims of the Demon scourge and leaders of Demon Slayers, it would be hard to believe they didn't have any in family defenses. In my rewrite I have them be the progenitors of a new type of breathing, Light breathing.
This breathing style has 15 forms total, second most behind Moon breathing, and not a single one of these forms are used for attack. Yep, heard that right. In this rewrite, Light breathing is an evolved version of basic recovery breathing utilized to its maximum potential. In the lore it would've been used for seemingly inhuman feats of healing and regeneration from physical trauma and disease. It would also make sense that this style would be created by the Ubuyashiki family during efforts to find ways to mitigate their curse. And although it has no effect of canceling out curses or magics, Kagaya uses it to temporarily heal the physical effects of his curse.
Thinking Kagaya wants to fight, Muzan instantly unleashes a fury of attacks. And this scene we get to see full destructive utilization of all Muzan's blood demon arts, not limited by any poisons or miracle medicines procured by Tamayo yet. Kagaya doesn't attack, but instead, in his new temporary healthy state, uses Light breathing to deflect attacks, continuously mend wounds, and temporarily blind/stun Muzan. Kagaya won't throw a single attack the entire fight, thus preserving his Buddha like nature.
In reality, the confrontation is to stall for time until the demon slayers arrive. Using his mystical foresight, Kagaya skillfully calculates how to evade each of Muzan's destructive attacks. Muzan realizes this and thus procures situations where even if Kagaya can forsee different ways of how he evades in the future, all options will involve him being fataly injured. But even after he is gravely mutilated by Muzan's attacks, the Light breathing forms he uses in response heals all wounds and poisons completely.
Another fact about Light breathing is that, the breathing method itself is derived from Wisteria plants' respiration and transpiration of chemicals. So in a sense it mimics the qualities of Wisteria. Thus including another added affect. Any demon in close proximity of someone using Light breathing has their Blood Demon Arts temporarily weakened at an exponential level and so is their regeneration slowed down massively. This comes into play when Kagaya thinks he's stalled enough and then detonates his house, killing him and his family. Muzan doesn't die but since he regenerates almost instantly, it was essential to be in proximity to the Light breathing so Tamayo could have time to insert the medicine and give the Hashira an advantage.
The sequence of events immediately before and during entering the Infinity Castle stays the same.
First Round Infinity Castle Battles - Shinobu vs Douma Zenitsu vs Kaigaku:
Nothing changes from the manga. Perfection. Just think, it should be more apparent that they take place semi-simaltaneously.
Second Round Infinity Castle Battles - Tanjiro & Giyu vs Akaza Urokodaki, Tengen Uzui, Shinjuro, & Nezuko vs Jigoku Uzui (New Upper Moon 5):
The events of the Akaza fight are not changed and neither are the events surrounding it.
Simply adding another battle that takes place at the same time. This battle is with the former Hashira and certified Nezuko protection gang, fighting against Tengen Uzui's brother and current demon shinobi, Jigoku Uzui. I chose the name because Tengen means heaven and Jigoku means hell.
(Flashback) After the dispatch of Gyokko in the swordsmith village, Akaza was tasked with finding a good candidate to replace him. He stumbled upon the ruthless shinobi culture cultivated by the Uzui family. Seeing how they're a group of efficient warriors that don't hold any ethical qualms, Akaza challenged both Tengen's father and Jigoku to combat at which they fought him at the same time. If Akaza won they'd agree to become demons, and they'll keep they're clan but as long as they're loyal to Lord Muzan. But if father Uzui and Jigoku won, Akaza would leave them alone. The fight devolves and eventually involves Jigoku's children joining in. Akaza defeats Jigoku and kills his father as well as a few of his children. Recognizing the ones that have survived as strong and Jigoku as a worthy adversary, he gives him and his surviving children Muzan's blood to be turned to demons. The Uzui clan is now loyal to Muzan and Jigoku Uzui has been nominated as Upper Moon rank 5.
(Current) I think it will be an interesting dynamic with Tengen encountering his brother again and this time as a Demon. It will make for lots of drama as well as an interesting fight between two shinobi and two swordsmen. Nezuko would stay asleep most of the fight with Urokodaki directly protecting her. Speaking of, in this rewrite Jigoku was sent by Muzan to directly collect Nezuko and bring her to him.
Now about Jigoku's Blood Demon Art. I decided he should have the full arsenal of basic shinobi weaponry like Tengen and his wives, however his main weapon and instrument of the Blood Demon art is that of a double sided kusarigama. Basically a staff with dual sickles on each end and a chain holding a miniature mace extending from the staff's center. The blood demon art entails rapid spinning of the dual sided kusarigame of which blood tendrils extend from the ends causing extreme destruction while boosting speed.
At first, Jigoku is overwhelmed by the pure skill of these three master former Hashira. Even though they're rusty techniquewise, their coordination is perfected through endless battle experience. Jigoku's head is severed but wait, it's not over. Three more demons sprout from his neck and seperate. Jigoku's sons/Tengens nephews turned demons. Jigoku regrows his head and the real battle begins.
The fight plays out as a team battle with constantly switching opponents and locations around the Ubuyashiki estate. When it comes to the oldy swordsmen, Shinjuro is almost a mirror image of his son Kyojuro when Tengen sees him in battle, warming his heart. The only difference is that the sincerety that once inhabited the former flame Hashira is gone and has been replaced with a new layer of ferocity when fighting. Shinjuro isn't only fighting to protect or for honor, but to utterly crush his opponent in raging fire. Urokodaki still has that veil of sympathy and sincerity but his fighting style is different from Giyu's. The former fights in the style of a raging river controlled yet violent, while Giyu's is more calm and feeling, using current like movement to use the energy of the attacker back at them.
The 3 Uzui demon brothers all have Upper Moon 5 on their eyes despite not being the main threat. From strongest to weakest, there's the eldest brother, the youngest brother and the middle brother.
In the second half of the battle Nezuko wakes up and realizes she has limited time as a Demon left as she is slowly reverting to being a human. So she participates in the battle aiding the former Hashira. I thought this would be a good parallel to take place at the same time as the Akaza fight as it would be brother and sister fighting different Upper Moons simultaneously. She would also use her exploding blood to make Urokodaki's blade turn red.
At the climax of the battle Tengen manages to get a Demon Slayer Mark over his right eye with a series of parallel curved lines, increasing in size the further up the forehead they go. This is supposed to mimic soundwaves. Eventually all heads are severed with Jigoku's specifically being cut off by a marked Tengen. But one of the Demon brother's head was instead ripped off by Nezuko and not by a nichirin blade. So they don't disintegrate, which gives headless Jigoku enough time to surprise attack Shinjuro, stabbing him through the heart with one of the broken off kusarigama blades, killing him. Tengen avoids the attack of the headless Jigoku because he's also a Shinobi and Nezuko protects Urokodaki. Nezuko uses one last push of power to use her exploding blood to completely disintegrate the body of one of the headless demon brothers before any of them can reattach their heads. Now all demons left are headless by nichirin blades, they disintegrate.

It's been great to see people discussing the upcoming game and speculating on what might happen. But one thing is really dampening discussion, and that's mutual insecurity over a potential fight between Miles and Peter. People can't seem to stand the idea that their favourite character won't come out on top in a potential match-up, and it devolves into the most juvenile squabbling imaginable, even down to people saying they'll come back in 6 months time to rub their preferred outcome in their opponents' face (ignoring the presumptuousness that their preferred outcome will even occur, how pathetic is that?).
On the one hand, Peter fanboys get super defensive about Peter's experience and put down Miles in an attempt to say he couldn't possibly win a fight against symbiote Peter, even though he may well have the symbiote's weakness built into him (that's not guaranteed, but it's certainly possible). On the other hand, Miles fanboys get incredibly incensed at the idea Peter could beat Miles, and then project their own insecurities onto their opponents, emphasising Miles' extra powers and how he can do everything better than Peter can, and in some extreme cases accusing their opponents of being fundamentally evil people, all because they don't worship the ground beneath their favourite character's feet.
In both cases, it just completely stifles discussion for the rest of us who are just interested in what direction Insomniac will take the story. Peter's always been my favourite of the two (though I enjoy both), but if Insomniac choose to have Miles beat Peter and execute it in an emotionally and narratively compelling way, I have no issue with that. Likewise, I would hope that someone who prefers Miles could see how Peter beating him and then having a crisis of conscience, leading to him rejecting the symbiote, could be a vehicle for compelling drama and interesting character development. Unfortunately, neither of these perspectives seem to be the norm. It's all the more absurd considering all of this vitriol is in service of a hypothetical event: they may may not even fight in the actual game. Even if they do, I think it's far more likely there won't be a clear winner: Peter will come to his senses mid-way, and then he and Miles will work together to defeat the symbiote, Miles physically from the outside, Peter psychologically from the inside. Which would make all of the squabbling look more foolish in hindsight than it already is.
I suppose my request would be for everyone to calm down a bit and just enjoy the discussion. It's still a while to go until the game releases, and we're all fans here, so why not try and get along and enjoy the ride.

Morning hombres ✌️. Some traditions die hard... but no around fucking here I guess - ah no. A miserable cunt of a time we had there through the summer: June and July both costing Dad much too much... if it werenae for the recovery enjoyed in August, then particularly in September - the end may have arrived (no really of course, come on to fuck). Given that's now cash-losing 4 months on the trot - that's really alls one can fucking hope for, that Dad manages to suss out the Cash Cows the World has to offer and really grabs the bullock by the fucking horns 🤘. Rest assured (when dinnae yous), Dad is hellbent (as ever) in discovering such facts... no rest'll be had during the hunt (except the obvious times: night-time, doctor-advised nap time(s) etc etc) 👍. Early it is the now sure - so as one'd imagine, no glances yet at what next Satday has to offer. No just DWT that failed of course - the Dons pummelled at parkhead... maybes no the biggest surprise given the furore of Wednesday. Dad wasnae much bothered sure... ne'er fun getting pummelled of course - but the partying had been done... the goals had been achieved. Lots and lots of work to do over the summer, which means plenty of intrigue and hope for us Dons Fans - a rich time in securing proven hero-type cunts to the club seems fairly inevitable... the money flowing about the place has been breaths of fresh air aplenty. Plenty to do of course... the thinness of the squad has been much hollered about - lost a couple top cunts and it's a challenge 'n' a fucking 'alf in replacing them seamlessly. The squad-fillers are of course awash with those whom we placed hope in last summer... just hasnae worked out alas - in many cases for eye-bleedingly obvious reasons, which for sure is a frustrating cunt of thing to be the case. But for Dad - and presumably many, many others - the current regime appears to be loaded with a good shit-ton more ability in effectively identifying solutions than the last bunch. Signatures secured as effectively as those gained back in January '23, will see us in a terrific, terrific place - of that, Dad has little to no doubt. Crapshoot signings were a staple of last summer - it's paramount we dinnae make the same mistakes this time round. None of this spending cash for the sake of it, or signing a cunt because a few arseholes are interested - just good honest wondrous scouting, with an emphasis on diligence. Duk proves magic can be bought for a reasonable price... he's no the only affordable hero out there 🫶
Dads been busy - no doubts there... every day awash with activity. Maybes that in itself has drawn Dad away from consistently wondrous selection-making over these past few - who knows. But one things for sure: Dad is Determined to get pish right 👊. Balance is fore'er summat sought - if pish dinnae make no sense - Dad Acts ✌️. And for sure - there's thought that needs to be put in, to just how one takes all the responsibilities one hath. The list of shite to do will grow and grow as the sun becomes more a regular thing in the day-to-day... so more than just a desire: tis a fucking need sure. My (28f) boyfriend (28m) and I went out with a few friends of his after work. One of his friends, Anthony (30m), used to be coworkers with him and still is coworkers with my brother, Jesse (30m). Anthony has always been an outward asshole, one of those guys that will push buttons and "never truly means it" according to my boyfriend.
Before tonight, I had him in the neutral category if not slightly disliked. Tonight, however, as we were out, he decided to bring up how he thinks my brother Jesse is gay. This is constant work conversation for them, I have intimate knowledge of these interactions as Jesse and I have talked before about how brutally he is ridiculed at work and is the butt of every gay joke in the shop (these are construction type guys). I can see the hurt on his face and know him so well that it hurts me too. When Anthony started joking I ignored him but he continued to say "no for real, Jesse is gay! Have you seen his hair?!?! Here, let me show you photos of this guy he looks like" with me directly there. Jesse was not even there so I'm not sure why the conversation came up other than it was an opportunity for Anthony to be a dick and claim he was just being funny. I'm the younger sister but I've always been very protective of Jesse. He has the kindest heart and has been screwed over by women so many times that he has given up and keeps to himself even though he is lonely.
I got upset at Anthony but told my boyfriend I didn't want him to say anything to Anthony for fear it would make the bullying worse at work for Jesse. At the next bar we went to, my boyfriend and I got into a heated discussion about Anthony and his assholery. I was fed up with him even though he hadn't said anything else about Jesse. I told my boyfriend Anthony was a bully and an asshole and if he said one more word about Jesse I'd kick him in the nuts. BF got upset about this and said why can't I just relax and let it go, I said if his sister was being called a whore repeatedly by someone I called one of my best friends he would feel the same way. (It made sense in my brain). I stormed out and said "I'm done with Anthony, he's an asshole, I don't know why you keep defending him, I'm effing done" and walked out.
BF said that Anthony is just that way on his exterior and that I'm being too sensitive and Jesse should stand up for himself. In a perfect world, Jesse would stand up for himself but he goes along with the jokes to not get hurt more I think. Either way, I deeply despise Anthony and don't want anything to do with him. They became best friends through the job MY BROTHER got my BF after I had started dating him.
Tomorrow we are going to discuss what to do about the fact that I can't STAND Anthony and think he's a bully but BF is close with him. Honestly I don't want them to be friends unless Anthony can stop being such a dick to everyone in the name of "tough exterior" because I don't want to put up with him and have to see him all the time.
Am I the asshole for asking my BF to reconsider his friendship? And what do I do if he wants to be close friends with him still?

Wow okay, where do I begin?
I moved to a new place a month ago tomorrow, and it’s been weighing heavily on me. I’ve tried and tried everything I can possibly think of in order to stop feeling this way and to reframe my mindset, but it hasn’t been working.
The first bad thing (if you can call it that) is that I’m living in a house right now, but I’ll have to live in a trailer (on the property of my work. Which sucks doubly.) very soon. Not looking forward at all to it and that’s been weighing on my mental health a ton. I think I will be very isolated and unhappy there. I know myself and I just feel like I shouldn’t have taken this job because of the fact that my boss has required this of me. I knew before I came here, so why did I accept?
Also (as far as we know right now) we are moving a few states away in the winter. I know that’s also a long time from now, but I’m worried I’ll make friends where i am now and start to actually be in a better place mentally and then have it all taken away from me cause of some stupid winter company move that I apparently will be forced to do.
Aside from these things, I’ve just been.. so lonely. I have no one really my age here, I’m the youngest in the company working here right now and even as I am proud of that, it’s very stressful. I have no friends, no boyfriend. No one to love me. I’m just… here.
My mental health has been declining, I believe. I’m already a very VERY anxious person to begin. These dark and bad thoughts I’ve been having are unlike me. I don’t know where they came from and I’m praying so much that the Lord will give me power to overcome them. I’ve been attending my church, and I will be again in the morning.

Inspired by the popular Kaizo Ironmon Pokemon challenge, I present Vamp-Iron Survivors. This is an idea for a challenge run to keep the end game interesting for those looking to do more than make a trillion golden omelets.
Here are the rules: 1) All characters should be unlocked, and all powerups should be purchased. Set up: No eggs. 4 weapons limit. Hyper Mode, Arcanas, and Limit Break on. (going through the charactestage select and choosing these options will set them up to work for quick start) 2) Before starting your run, choose a base weapon and an evolved weapon. If you get a candy box or candy box 2, you may choose one of these weapons. 3) Use Quick Start for a random character and level. 4) Choose a random arcana (the '?' button) 5) Every level you may choose the weapon or power up in the first (top) slot or "skip". You may "banish" an item only if you already own it. 6) For arcana chests, you may choose the first (left) slot. You can "reroll", but you can still only choose the card in the first slot. 7) Survive.
What do y'all think? I'm open to adjustments. Thinking about incorporating the shop weapons (maybe you can purchase one as your fourth weapon?)

I always have tried to help people. Am emotional too. But am not the smartest. In life's competitions with regards to money, power,etc. I have been failing. Due to my inability to deal with stress and politics, I oost my well paying job and now am jobless. Because of which I slipped into depression and have never been able to get off.
I have ageing parents. My dad was born poor, but worked hard and became rich. They had a lot of expectations from me, gave me a good education, etc. but I have failed miserably to live upto their expectations. In childhood, I studied hard and was good at stuff. As I aged, I couldn't handle the pressure well.
Now I feel like I will push my family into poverty and I wouldn't even be able to take care of my parents. I have been depressed from approximately 6 months. I did try therapy and all, but I have come to the realisation that just because my dad worked hard and was also somewhat smart, the expectation that I will also be same is unrealistic, even though I always wanted to be better than my dad.
Buddhism gives me solace. I love Budhhism and meditation. My practice isn't perfect, but I try.
However, at a very practical level, in a third world country like India, applying Buddhism is really difficult. People are very political, with a crab-like mentality fighting for limited resources. And I empathise with them, it's not their fault, reality is difficult. Corrupt politicians, religion, pseudoscience, crony capitalism is rampant here. So is casteism and gender discrimination.
I used to get angry at my dad for involving in untethical practices like corruption. But reality is that, without that nothing runs here.
Yes there are honest and hardworking people too, but I unlike in childhood I can't get myself to work like that. I don't know. Life feels difficult and full of contradictions. Even survival feels difficult at this point. Therapy is freaking expensive and some counselors in India are outright fraud. Living in a low trust society is extremely difficult, especially if you're lower caste.
I know a lot of people have it worse than me, and I should show gratitude for my priveleges, which arguably are disappearing these days. Nonetheless, I don't know what to do anymore. Professionally, personally, every way life has hit rock bottom. Is this my karma? Is this because of my over ambition? My dad's over ambition? But there are still rich people in the world. Also, my dad a lot of social service and helped the family too, despite being an asshole in someother circumstances. He was well respected in the community. I don't know.
What to do. How to get a job? I have lost confidence in all my skills too. I used to work in IT, which is very competitive. At a point I used to love the job, but now am just cynical.

Today is the 691st anniversary of the birth of Abū Zayd 'Abd ar-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad ibn Khaldūn al-Ḥaḍramī, better known to posterity as Ibn Khaldūn (27 May 1332 – 17 March 1406), who was born in Tunis, under the Hafsid Sultanate, on this date in 1332 AD.
Happy Birthday Ibn Khaldun!
There is an extenstive literature on Ibn Khaldun. Majid Fakhry writes in A History of Islamic Philosophy:

“The role of Ibn Khaldun in the philosophical history of Islam is a complex one. We have already referred to his philosophical education and his possible introduction at an early age to the writings of Ibn Sina and Ibn Rushd by one of his most important teachers. One tradition even ascribes to him the writing of epitomes of Ibn Rushd’s works. But it is not clear whether these works are Ibn Rushd’s theological and Maliki writings or his commentaries on Aristotle. Be this as it may, the two most important aspects of his philosophical contribution are the extensive remarks on and criticisms of Greco-Arab philosophy and the formulation in original theoretical terms of the first and last major philosophy of history in Islam.”

Of Ibn Khaldun Toynbee wrote:

“‘Abd-ar-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Khaldun al-Hadrami of Tunis (vivebat A.D. 1332-1406)—an Arabic genius who achieved in a single ‘acquiescence’ of less than four years’ length, out of a fifty- four years’ span of adult working life, a life-work in the shape of a piece of literature which can bear comparison with the work of Thucydides or the work of a Machiavelli for both breadth and pro- fundity of vision as well as for sheer intellectual power. Ibn Khaldun’s star shines the more brightly by contrast with the foil of darkness against which it flashes out; for while Thucydides and Machiavelli and Clarendon are all Prilliaine representatives of brilliant times and places, Ibn Khaldun is the sole point of light in his quarter of the firmament. And Muhsin Mahdi had this to say in his Ibn Khaldūn’s Philosophy of History: A Study in the Philosophic Foundation of the Science of Culture:

“…a factual acquaintance with the conclusions of Ibn Khaldûn’s reflections on history is not the same as the full comprehension of their theoretical significance. This latter requires the comprehension of the principles from which, and the complete method of argumentation through which, his conclusions were actually reached. The proper introduction to these principles and that method should determine Ibn Khaldin’s philosophic position with respect to the nature and principles of scientific knowledge and of the social order, or his conception of the nature and principles of theoretical and practical philosophy. This is the object of Chapter II, which begins by showing Ibn Khaldûn’s philosophic intention in writing his major work, the ‘History ’, and attempts to analyse his attitude toward the various schools that posed alternative answers to the fundamental problems of philosophy, to examine his conception of the nature of philosophy and its relation to the religious and revealed Law, and to explain his conception of the social role of philosophy and the philosopher in the Islamic community. When these fundamental questions are answered, it becomes possible to pose the specific question of the relation of Ibn Khaldûn’s philosophy of history, or his new science of culture, to other practical sciences and, particularly, to the art of history. Title pretty much says it, and I honestly hate that I am typing stuff out rn because I'm so tired of trying to explain my feelings in hopes of being understood and then not and cycling deeper into this exhaustion. To the point where here I am running on fumes and frustration simultaneously not wanting to do this but feeling I need to in hopes that someone at least understands me a little bit.
I just constantly find myself talking with people in group settings and typically I can be the life of the party despite my introversion. Mainly because I can be a push over too and I suck at getting conversations to go where I want them but I'm great at amplifying where other people want them to go lmao. I honestly thing my extroverted appearance is just a coping mechanism since I can't get what I want which is deep conversation and understanding of each other. So instead I settle for fun and laughter because I think I'm those group settings although we may not understand each other, if we all understand a comment made or understand a joke or funny remark there is still something powerful in play and that's nice. But when everyone's gone home(I typically find myself being the last person in hopes that as the group dwindles the conversation deepens, and sometimes it does but only because I play listener) I find myself sitting and wallowing by myself just wishing I could be understood.
Not to mention the moments when I do finally get what i want in terms of a more intimate conversation I tend to blow it being too talkative because its such a non commonality for me that I yearn for so much when I get my hands on it I ruin it. And then I get an even worse result than not being understood... Being misunderstood. It just sucks.
I'm so tired of not necessarily putting on a mask but definitely playing to the crowd, but those little bits are the only thing keeping me sane, it's just so much work for so little gain.
