It was down to two spellers, a girl and a boy. The pronouncer gave the girl the word “daively,” meaning “listlessly.” The word’s origins were Scottish. The girl, like myself, obviously heard a “K” sound because she spelled it with a “K” at the end.

The Bee Movie recently came on Netflix, and me and my family decided to watch it for the meme. I largely enjoyed, but as the movie went on I noticed something sinister. The Bee Movie is fascist propaganda. My family thought I was insane but it's true. Let's look at the story here. Barry B. Benson, faced with the soul-sucking repetitiveness of proletarian life working for Honex, decides to try to free himself and goes outside of the hive. After doing outside stuff, he figures out that bees are being exploited by humans, because humans are expropriating their honey/surplus value. Barry, having achieved class consciousness, starts a lawsuit/proletarian revolution. Barry, with the help of the bee proletariat, wins. Post-scarcity is reached, and fully automated luxury bee communism is achieved. It should be paradise. However, this is not where the movie ends. Because of some bullshit mismanagement, bees just stop doing anything, including pollination. The world's vegetation begins to die, and Barry has to deal with the guilt of closing his class-traitor girlfriend's flower shop and spelling the end of life on earth as we know it. To solve the issue, the bees work with the humans to solve the crisis, and afterwards, bees continue to make honey and allow humans to use it. In other words, they solve their problems by ending fully automated luxury bee communism and promoting FUCKING CLASS COLLABORATION. How dare Jerry Seinfeld imply that fully automated luxury bee communism would doom us? How dare he try to tell us that fascist class collaboration is the answer? Who knew that by watching and sharing increasingly accelerating apian cinematic memes we were helping the enemy? I don't beelieve it.

2023.06.02 18:36 Cinderfell1 Whats the name of a book about a mother and daughter that crash in a magical valley in the middle of a road trip. (The car broke down) The cover has symbols of both circular shape and square shape with a squigly line through it and a larger symbol in the middle that looks like an incorrect triangle.
Its a fictional book about a Mother and Girl of greek heritage who was very smart. It has a red cover with magical symbols on it. I seem to remember that she had a really great memory and was really good at spelling bees. Anyways, they go on a trip and find themselves in a mysterious valley after their car breaks down. There is magic, bees and beehives, and a house on a hill that she isn't supposed to see. There is a man in that house who is forced into immortality but may never leave the house. They form a relationship and she works to break the spell. Theres like this woman who seems to be in charge of it all, she might have been the mysterious guys sister? And then there was this other dude that took care of the beehives and also made sure that the man on the hill had food and supplies that he needed. One scene example was that he wanted to scare the main character, so he offered to have the girl help him with the bees in return for some free honey. He made sure not to handle the bees correctly so that they would swarm the smart girl but instead of panicking she made the symbols for "calm" and "go down," easily subduing the bees. At one point she's forced to leave the valley towards the end of the book. She's told if she leaves the valley she will lose her magic and memory of such magic as well. However, she makes a special magical box when at one point she goes into this magical contraption that the mysterious guy puts her in which causes her to go back in time and see her history and her families history, realizing how much magic their family had. Anyways... she puts this magic box somewhere that she would stumble accross it and she does eventually, when she leaves and she gets her memories back of the valley and its magic. At the end of the book she returns to the valley, surprising the woman and guy and says shes going to free their brother from the magical house. She goes up the mountain to the house and meets with the guy again and it ends with her starting her plan.
