Extra Car’s Insurance is $1,200/yr. Keep or Sell?
2023.06.04 00:45 FeeDisastrous3879 Extra Car’s Insurance is $1,200/yr. Keep or Sell?
I’ve got three cars: 1. Wife’s 2022 Mercedes GLE 350 (7k mi) 2. My 2013 Hyundai Genesis (200k mi) 3. Her old 2014 Ford Focus (75k mi)
I’ve been keeping a hold of both older cars expecting the Genesis to die, but it runs great and has been well maintained. It’s fun to drive and is a smooth, comfortable ride. The Focus is in better shape, but it’s interior rattles like mad and it feels like I’m riding a wagon down the Oregon Trail. Great AC in the Focus for the summer and remote start for heating in the winter. Plus the Focus is smaller for parking downtown and has a backup camera. Great on gas. If I could magically merge the Focus and Genesis, I would, but as it stands I enjoy using both when I want certain features.
But the $1,200 Insurance cost is just a bummer. I don’t want to lower my coverage as I’ve got it set to match my assets. It’s cheaper than a car payment though if my Genesis died mechanically or was totaled in a crash.
The Genesis is maybe worth $2.5k and the Focus $10k. Trading them in wouldn’t get me very far into a better ride in this market.
While the Mercedes is paid off and I could afford another car, I’m just not a car snob and would rather just drive my beater(s) to work.
I’m just torn on what to do. Beyond treating wife with the Mercedes, I’m not really into burning money.
Anybody else keep extra cars despite it not being that frugal?

Whale of a Tale (December 13th, 2017)
Caution - Wall of text incoming.....don't say I didn't warn you....
I started playing FFBE shortly after launch in July of 2016. It was a fresh take on an old classic, my favorite series of all time, Final Fantasy. When I was 11, in 1988, living in New Jersey, I went to the Nintendo CES in New York City. Nintendo had demo booths for all the upcoming games, and the original Final Fantasy was one of them. It was the coolest game I had ever seen. I got it when it was released and it remained my favorite series of games for years. FFII and FFIII on SNES, I bought a Playstation so I could get FFVII, I got a PS3, but all I wanted to play was FFXII (I personally like Vaan).
Along came married life, kids, jobs, responsibilities, and I could no longer spend time on a console. I didn't have time to sit and play and grid out levels and complete the extra quests like defecting Ruby Weapon. Then FFBE was released. A short format game that I could play for 5 or 10 minutes and put it away. It didn't require a console or a TV, just a few minutes to play a couple of dungeon runs or a quick exploration, then I could put it away for later. It was perfect.
Expedition into the Abyss. The first banner I spent money on. I had been playing the game for 6 weeks or so and I had not found the
FFBreveExvius subreddit or the Exvius Wiki, I went into the exploration blind and got wiped out. I leveled my team, I maxed my stats and I just could not win. I got to Ansel finally and beat him, but I was so low on energy. I used lapis refills just to limp past him. Then I got to the exit with the 3 bosses that kicked my but with their 10,000V attack. I was frustrated beyond belief, I had spent all my resources to pass this exploration, and I couldn't leave it like this. I broke my F2P resolve and put down $20. That should be enough to get me out of this dungeon and replace some of the lapis I sepnt so I could at least do the dailies again. I was adamant that I would not spend again.
The first Mog King event I recall was Festival of the Autum Moon, baking Mog Cakes. I spent hours, day after day, grinding the Coast for recipe ingredients. I kept my 2 ovens going, then I increased my capacity to 4 and I stayed true to my resolve, I did not spend any more money. I made it through, I got the Stellar Shield, I got the Lunar Pestle and the Rabbit's Foot. I acomplished my goals without macros, without more resources. My family though kept asking me, what am I tapping on my phone all the time? Why am I always looking at my screen?
I put the phone away and tried to limit myself, only a little while in the morning before I got everyone up for school, I would play for a little while at lunchtime when I wasn't around anyone. I would play on the toilet since I had nothing better to do while I poop. I would play after putting the kids to sleep. I was not taking anything from anyone. I was just playing a game.
I made it to November. The Crystal Tower. The release of Luneth and Refia. The best DPS and the best Healer available at the time. I had saved my lapis, I could do a 10+1 pull, I had maybe 20 or so tickets saved. I used all my resources and was trolled by a rainbow Edge. I was enraged, insenced, insistent that I get Luneth. I put in my card number into my digital wallet and upped myself $99 of Lapis. Then I pulled and pulled and pulled, and I got nothing. So I put in another $99 and pulled and pulled and I got Luneth! I could advance and defeat all new content and share the best DPS possible to all my friends.
It was only $200. I can spare that. I haven't bought a video game in 6 years. I deserve it, I earned it.
I didn't pull for the Brave Frontier cross over event. I saved my resources. I was depressed by all the Elza's I saw my friends sharing, but I was not lucky enough to pull her. I conceded that it was ok, and I could get her again in the future. I still beat the Trial of the Creator and got Maxwell. I had to work hard, but I got the Power of Creation TMR. That made my Luneth a king again.
Then came the Big Bridge. Gilgamesh. The BEST TMR you could get. I still have a 10+1 pull left after my Luneth. I had saved the tickets from the Mog King. I pulled for Greg and failed again. It was only $200 to get Luneth. How bad would that be for the best accessory in the game? I can make my Chizuru or my Cecil so strong. I put in my money again, $99....no Greg, $99....no Greg, $99....no Greg.... I took a break for a little bit. My family had plans for the day. I was angry now. How could I have spent $300 and not gotten what I wanted. When nobody was looking, around everyone, I did it again. $99....no Greg, $99...no Greg, $99...no Greg, $99.....
Finally. I had Gilgamesh. I had maxed out all of my unit inventory. I had to spend time to fuse units, I got my first Excalibur that day as well as some other great TMRs. But I finally had the Genji Golve and I could now make Chizuru strong enough to share with others. She could DPS at 350 attack and more! I could beat all the content with ease using her and Luneth. Yeah, I spent $700, but I would stop now. I had enough. I didn't want to be caught spending money I shouldn't on a video game. It was enough.
Lightning strikes, and I didn't spend anything. I was in control. I didn't need anything new. I was still in the game and doing great. So many events passed and I was still killing everything in sight with my team. I cleared all of the events and new story content. It was fun, I was not an addict, I spent time with my family, I didn't take their time away. I was on top.
Noctis, Prince of all Trades came along. I got greedy. I pulled again...another $300. I got off easy there. I was again in the lead. I was on top. I had the best attacker, best support, best all around at everything. I didn't need anything else.
The Mana Mystery Event came. I was excited! Randi, the Secret of Mana! The Secret of Mana was, hands down, one of the best games to ever come out for the SNES. Open world, exciting characters, fantastic story and fighting. The Nostalgia was incredible for this event. I had to have Randy. I had paid down most of the bill from getting Gilgamesh. I could afford it to have a piece of my childhood back, no matter what the cost. It cost me about $400. I was back to square 1 with paying my bill back. I had spent nearly $1700 on this game now, I couldn't spend any more. It was getting out of control. I unlinked the credit card and got back to my senses. I could keep playing my game. I put my maxed out Randi as my friend unit. I was determined to get the most out of him, no matter what. It was my hard earned money, I should not spend it frivilously.
I made it almost 4 months.
It was my birthday. The Brave Frontier banner was back. The Scyth weilding Queen Elza was back. It was my birthday and I wanted Elza. This was the first double 5* banner I ever tried to pull on. This was the first banner I pulled on after the guaranteed 5* base for Rainbows was announced. It was my birthday and I had to have Elza. I have to get what I want on my birthday. I charged $1500 that day to get her.
I was sick of my actions. I de-linked my card again. I now had a balance of nearly $4000, including other non FFBE related purchases. I had to find a way to stop. I transferred the balance to a new, zero interest card. My family was going on vacation and I needed to be clear to help with expenses. I had some cash saved, I was paying down my debt slowly, I had a plan, I was still in control.
While on vacation, the Veritas Banner was announced. The most anticipated unit since Orlandeau. I had an Orlandeau from tickets, it would be awesome to get a chaining partner for Orlandeau. Veritas of the Dark is the coolest, with the black armor, Dark Damage heals him, and Dark Retribution attack. Something in me snapped, and I was back to I had to have him. It was another double Rainbow banner, maybe I would be lucky this time.
$1000, no Veritas of the Dark. I had 4 Veritas of the Flame. I was angry. How could I have spent so much and not gotten the unit I wanted! Why would Final Fantasy, Gumi, Square Enix, not give it to me? How could I spend so much and not get what I want! Another $1000. I got 2 more Veritas of the Flame, another Orlandeau, a second Freviya, Olive, Emperor, but no Dark Veritas! How! Why! Now I am stubborn. I am not putting this much money out there to not get what I want. $99...no Dark Veritas, $99...no Dark Veritas, $99...a second Emperor, I almost threw my phone against the wall. $99....Finally, Veritas of the Dark. $2500, 9 Veritas of the Flame, half a dozen other 5* base, and I finally got the Veritas of the Dark.
Wait....WTF did I just do?!?!
Did I just really spend $2500 to get a little animated piece of code? What is my wife going to think? What will my kids say? I tell them I don't have much money to spare, I dutifully split my paycheck 3 ways, household expenses, savings and my spending money. I can do what I want with my spending money. I just won't get anything for myself for a year or so, pay this back to my card a couple hundred at a time.
Fuck it. I have what I want. I put in another $1000 just to keep me going with energy refils and I can play whenever and however I want.
Neir came, I pulled with the lapis I had left and got A2 and 2B. Luck is on my side now. Onion Knight, I got on 3 10+1 pulls. I am on top of the world. Gumi must have had some mercy on my account. I have all the units I need, sure there are some I want, but I can get by without Rem and Wilhelm. But who is this awesome new healer! Ayaka, dual white magic, reraise, the things I was missing for Agaion, the Robot Trial! With her, I could be at the top again. I could beat all the trials, all the new story content. It would all be a breeze. I had to get her. I moved all my debt to the balance transfer card. I have a clear card to work with. I can get it and make it go away and I can continue on as normal, just pay down the card and not spend on myself.
Next came Nyx. The Hero of Kingsgalive. I know most people thought it was aweful, but I even like Spirits Within, so hate all you want...I wanted to have Nyx. Another $400. I skipped halloween, but decided I had to have Loren for her TMR. It was a good as the Genji Golve, even better. It would make my team unstoppable for the 10 man trials. Another $500. Honestly I don't know what I spent here, I lost count.
The Tower of Zot! We can have Rubicant! Barbariccia would be cool, but Rubicant is one of my favorite enimies of all time. $99...no Rubicant, $99...no Rubicant. WTF!?! This is a 4* base! What is happening!? F&k it, AGAIN. $500, just to be sure. Get Rubicant, keep pulling for Barbariccia, don't need her, I already have 2 Trance Terra's, but why the F*%k not. Its good for the Raid Bonus.
All right! Rainbow Rate is up! EX rewards are 1.5X! Cloud is coming in December! This is the best time to put some $$ in so I am guananteed to get Cloud. Cloud is Awesome! Cloud is iconic! Cloud is the heart of Final Fantasy! I have my zero interest card at $11K, but I am paying it. I have a way of making it look like I am paying off an old debt to cover if my wife asks where the money went. I went all in. $3000 in lapis. That will last me a good long time, then I can pay off my debt and play and just let it all go away.
On December 7th, 2017, my wife asked if she could use my credit card to buy food and send it to a family member celebrating a huge accomplishment. Offhand, she asked if she could see the balance. She saw something in my response trying to dismiss it and wouldn't let it go. I asked her to go upstairs so we could talk in private. I confessed to having a balance of $5600 on my card due to Final Fantasy. A couple days later, I told her the rest of the story.
I am currently $15,800 in debt. My wife no longer trusts me. My kids, who ask me why I am playing Final Fantasy all the time, will never understand how I selfishly spent money I should have been using for their activities. Their birthdays, their festivals, their clothes, their school events, their weekends, their movies.
I have never spent more than $1000 on my wife at one time. I spent $16,000 on digital garbage in about a year. If she decides that she will not divorce me, I owe her more that I could ever repay. I am not playing anymore. I will not get Cloud. I will leave 500K lapis in an account that will stay idle. The "friends" I have will drop me as my days since last played increases. I will not get to beat Marlboro. I will not see how Chapter 2 plays out. I will not have any 7* units. FFBE is over.
I became a gambling addict over a game where there is no return, no reward, for spending my money.
I Flushed $16,000 down the toilet over a game.
TL;DR - Don't whale irresponsibly, the consequences WILL outweigh the investment.
TL;DR #2 - Some people are on this planet to be an example to others, don't be that Guy.
Edit -
Thank you all for your support and ideas. I have a lot of feedback on how I can improve the situation, I will update in some time after getting a few actions completed first.
I really appreciate each and every comment, I have read them all, and I plan to continue to read them to reinforce my resolve to keep my promise to my wife and to my family to remain open and honest.
Please be patient and OP will update.
Whale of a Tale-1 year later (December 7th, 2018)
Well....Its been a year. A year of repentance, a year of ups and downs and everything in between.
One year today marks the day my wife uncovered my FFBE gambling habit. If anyone is unfamiliar with the story, sort by Top (all time).
In the past year I have made a lot of progress. I have substantially paid down my debts, made amends with my family and worked hard to move forward. I cannot say I have been a perfect husband or father, but I would like to think I have improved in many areas. My life is changed beyond measure because of my inability to control myself playing this game.
The biggest blessing I have in my life is my wife. She looks out for me, for our family, and everyone she knows so that people are happy, do not go overboard and keep on a right path.
"Too much of anything is never a good thing" she tells me often. It can apply to food, exercise, work and gaming. I have changed my habits and work hard to include her and my children in everything, instead of trying to escape from them.
To people who wondered, I am 41, a hardware development engineer building servers and father of 3. I help get kids up and ready for school, help them with their homework and make sure bedtime and brushing teeth are enforced.
At my worst, I was pulling for Veritas of the Dark on a trip to the Aquarium with the kids and cousins, spending ~$2500 that day and ignoring my family as they joyfully wandered around looking at fish, octopus and seals. Playing raids on nature hikes with the Cub Scouts.
Now, I would like to believe I am more attentive, more present, in their lives and their mother's life.
My worst guilt is that I still want to play a game that nearly ruined my life.
I just wanted to say to everyone, thank you for your support. Thank you for your kind words, and even many of you who said outright how stupid I was. Thank you for the chance to be a part of Final Fantasy. May all your summons break into Rainbows.
Whale of a Tale - Epilogue (December 7th, 2020)
3 years ago, I posted a story of how I fell. I fell in the eyes of my family, the ones I swore to protect, opening them up to a mountain of risk and debt. Today, I have paid off my debt fully and I hope that I can leave this chapter of my life, my lies, my hidden obsession, my half truths, fully in the past.
Over the past 3 years I have seen a lot of changes. Since the pandemic began, it has been hard to watch as my children spend more and more time playing Roblox and less time playing outdoors, less time studying, physically active and spending time as a family. I realized that I set the precedent of this behavior. I do try to be a more engaged father and husband, it is a daily challenge to keep everyone happy, healthy and well fed.
As to the state of the game, I have followed what is going on at a distance. When I stopped playing, at the release of OG Cloud, a top tier DD was in the 1500 ATK range. When I started, Chizuru was a beast with a 300 ATK. Now, I see NV Remake Cloud at 5000+ ATK. Power creep is real and basically every dollar that I spent ($16000 and then some) has little to no value at this point in the META.
It has been a long period of reflection. There have been fights where all I can do is hang my head in shame as I accept the guilt of spending selfishly on a game when I could have redone the floors in my home and replaced the kitchen counters, the two of these desires of my wife have been postponed due to my lack of self control. These are my priorities now, doing things for my home, saving for my children's future, and I hope doing more to show my wife that she is the most important connection in my life. She forgave me, she supported my recovery and she kept me on the right path. She deserves all the credit for keeping our family together.
Do I miss playing? I do. I said it in the 1 year update and I will say it again. I hate that I still have a desire to play a game that nearly ruined my life. Do I regret my decision? I regret hiding what I was doing from my family and I strive to be more open and honest about what I want and what I am doing.
I don't want to ramble, so I will end here. I did it. I paid my debts. I hope that no one else falls into the same trap and spends beyond their means, or hides what they are doing from their loved ones. Good luck everyone!

2023.06.01 01:21 Code_PM Long distance trip and advice with second car
Hello, wanted to get some advice on my upcoming trip, we're moving from Kentucky to Oregon (2000+ m).
We'll be driving our Subaru Outback 2016 because we have pets. I'm looking at those u-haul pods that they ship out to move the majority of our stuff.
The biggest issue I have now is our second car, a Ford Escape 2005. Ideally I'd like to bring it with us, having a second car in Oregon would be best for our needs, but we're looking for a solution that doesn't involve us driving separately for the whole trip.
I was considering renting a car-hauler and towing the Ford behind the Subaru, but I see that it's over the recommended towing capacity. How bad would it be to try this?
Car moving companies are too expensive, wanted to ask if anyone else had experience with this or know of other methods for moving a second car affordably, any private drivers for hire etc.?

2023.05.30 17:47 honkygrandma88 GLK vs GTI vs V60 vs NX200T vs QX70
Looking for an upgrade from my current car, a 2008 Infiniti EX35. I’ve been happy with the performance and driving dynamics, but I need more headroom and at 15 years old the issues are piling up. For context: I live in a big city, make $120k yr, drive less than 5k miles/yr. Tired of the EX, but don’t want much of a car payment if I can avoid it.
Requirements:
Budget: $23k<10 yrs old, <100k miles
AWD
Auto
Practical--Wagon, small SUV or hatchback. Good headroom (I’m 6'4" and the EX35 feels cramped), short length (EX is 182" long, I wouldnt want to go more than an inch or two longer) for city parking.
FUN to drive--quick (>250 hp), good handling/steering feel
Luxurious-- Heated leather, good looking dash, nice materials. We don’t need all the bells and whistles, but the car should be a good-looking and comfortable place to be
Maintenance--Reliability is important, as are reasonable maintenance costs. Obviously we want something that is safe and won’t leave us stranded, but given how little driving we do I’m willing to spend a bit more on maintenance and such. That said, we hope to keep this car for at least 5 years.
Some cars I’m considering:
2013-15 Mercedes GLK 350-- A little old and not super luxurious, but they seem to be reliable, practical and fun to drive. Probably the worst in terms of infotainment.
2016-18 VW GTI— Comfortable, fun, and practical. Some reliability concerns, but the Mk7 generation is supposed to be pretty decent in that respect. Don’t love that it’s FWD, but the Golf R is out of my price range.
2017-ish Volvo V60-- Have not driven one, but I know that Volvos interiors are super comfortable. A T5 or T6 should be fairly reliable, and pretty engaging to drive.
2015-17 Infiniti QX70-- Performance should be pretty good, and offers a bit more headroom than the EX35. Would be nice to get something more different from what I have now, but definitely a contender
2015-ish Lexus NX200t-- Everyone says get a Lexus and this is one. Seems like performance will be mediocre, but it checks a lot of other boxes.

2023.05.28 22:38 AvgHeight510 Dealer didn't put the oil filler cap back on. How worried should I be?
Recently I took my car (2016 Mercedes) in for an oil change at the dealership. When I was driving it home (it's approx. 25-30 miles freeway driving between the dealership and my house) I went to make a stop at the store along the way, and as I was maneuvering into a parking space I realized something was really wrong. Smoke was billowing up from under the car and the HVAC started pulling in a ton of terrible burning-smell. Shut the car off and got out really quick because I thought maybe it was on fire, thankfully it wasn't, but pulled the hood up and found that the oil filler cap hadn't been put back on. There was oil that had sprayed up all over the engine bay which appeared to be the primary cause of the smoke, but you could see that there was also smoke coming out of the oil filler with the engine off (although I'll admit, this may have just been a trick of the light and physics from hot air coming out of the open oil filler).
Called the dealership and they immediately took full responsibility, covered the cost of a tow truck, refunded the cost of the oil change and offered to also cover the costs for an UbeLyft if I had anywhere to be right at that moment, and have provided a loaner car until it can all be fixed up. Their words were, "we're going to do whatever it takes to make this right."
Next day they started working on it, and one of the service managers said that it was 1-1.5 quarts low on oil. The paperwork for it (so far) says that they've confirmed it doesn't leak oil now that the cap has been replaced, they've steam cleaned the engine and all belly pans, found that it may still smoke or smell because oil was baked onto the catalytic converter. To check for damage to the engine, they removed the engine cover, air boxes, "charge air cooler" (it's a V6 engine with twin turbo), and all spark plugs, performed a cylinder leak down test (finding that each cylinder has 8-13 PSI loss, but spec is less than 25 PSI loss), an electronic compression test (finding each cylinder returning 202-215 RPM), and a bore scope test to check for metal shavings and found none. They also checked the undercarriage for damage from the tow truck.
The thing I'm really worried about is that this has somehow impacted the overall lifespan of my engine. I've never had a car with a bigger engine or turbochargers, let alone a German one, and everything I've read is that they turn into money pits as they age, especially if you don't keep care of them. I'd told both the service manager and the general manager of this concern, and had asked how they warrant their work in situations like this; they told me the manufacturer's 2-year unlimited-mileage warranty would apply to all parts that have been replaced. They did say that the amount of oil that was lost would not have starved the turbos while the engine was running.
Is there anything more that I can ask the dealer to do or or for them to check/look into for peace of mind?

2023.05.28 21:09 B-e-a-u Questions about Active Emergency Stop Assist
I have epilepsy and have a grand mal seizure about every year (I’ve already been cleared by my neurologist to drive and am on medication so I really don’t need your opinions on my ability to drive) so I’m looking at 2020 GLB 250 because it has “Active Emergency Stop Assist” with the drivers assistance package which would seem like a good feature to have if, god forbid, I ever were to have a seizure while behind the wheel. So the questions I have are about the functionality of the system, does the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist have to be on for the AESA to work and does that mean I couldn’t use the system for non-highway driving? Has anyone else had an experience actually using AESA or tested it out? In the American models does it still call sos or is that only on European models? Also is the system in any older Mercedes suv models like the 2016-2019 GLC or older GLE/ M-class models?

2023.05.28 06:43 reichert 2016 SE - Towing Upgrade / Capacity
The wife and I are wanting to get a pop-up camper to tow for family trips, but we’ll need to get and install / have installed a hitch.
I’ve read a few things about this and still am not sure… Some say buy your own trailer hitch (<$200) and installing will suffice for anything 3,500 lbs. or lighter. The pop-up we’re looking at is under 2,000lbs.
Others are saying the self-install route, while less expensive, is really only suitable for hooking things like a bike rack to. They suggest paying ~$1,600 to have one installed with an additional install of a transmission cooler (?).
Anyone have experience with upgrading their Odyssey with a trailer hitch and / or pulling a pop-up trailer?
Any and all input appreciated.

2023.05.25 14:05 Still_Speaker9132 First time BMW owner, need help.
Hello good people,
Can someone please help me with a towing capacity question? I'm looking at two SUVs, and I'm trying to figure out which one of them is reasonable to tow a camper between 1,800-3,200lbs. Googling the towing capacity on each one of these individually turns up ridiculously different numbers. As in, 5 sites will all say different numbers for each car. It's maddening.
Car #1:
2016 BMW X3 XDrive35i
6-cyl, Turbo Gas, 3.0L
3,500-6,000lb.
How can the results be 2,500lb different? That seems like pretty unreliable info.
Car #2:
2018 BMW X3 XDrive30i
4-cyl, Turbo Gas, 2.0L
4,400lb.
How can a 4cyl 2L possibly tow 1,000lb more than a 6cyl, 3L automobile?
I realize that both of these have a sufficient towing capacity for the camper. My goal is to figure out if the weaker 2018 can do this with no problem, or if it'll get sluggish up hills. Because I want the 2018 more, but not if it's going to struggle.
Thanks,

2023.05.23 18:24 Then_Marionberry_259 APR 03, 2023 IPT.V IMPACT SILVER CLOSES ACQUISITION OF THE HIGH-GRADE PLOMOSAS ZINC-LEAD-SILVER MINE, MEXICO
| https://preview.redd.it/4wg1sn3lxl1b1.png?width=3500&format=png&auto=webp&s=a61c7c44fb1ef67e602e504018c3b44b72d6d4dd Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - April 3, 2023) - IMPACT Silver Corp. (TSXV: IPT) (OTC Pink: ISVLF) (FSE: IKL) ("IMPACT" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed the Share Purchase and Sale Agreement (the "Sale Agreement") with Consolidated Zinc Limited (ASX: CZL) ("CZL") of Australia, previously announced on February 9, 2023, regarding the purchase of all outstanding shares of its subsidiary, Minera Latin America Zinc S.A.P.I de C.V. ("MLAZ"), which holds a 100% interest in the high-grade, Plomosas zinc-lead-silver mine in the state of Chihuahua, northern Mexico. Closing of this acquisition solidifies IMPACT's position as one of Mexico's most well-funded and growth-minded intermediate miners - one that is well-positioned to offer investors high-grade production, balanced and aggressive growth, and exciting exploration upside going forward. TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT - The total purchase price of US$6 million consists of US$3 million in cash and the balance in the form of IMPACT shares (a total of 11,441,647 shares will be issued). Post closing adjustments based on changes in working capital will be made, as previously agreed to, between the two parties.
- Contractual restrictions have been applied to 75% of the share transfer component such that IMPACT Shares will be released from restriction in three equal tranches of 25% of the total number of shares issued to CZL, every 6 months, over 18 months from closing. 25% of the IMPACT Shares will be immediately held by CZL (subject to a statutory 4-month hold period from the date of issuance of the IMPACT Shares); and
- A 12% net profit interest ("NPI") royalty on production from the Plomosas project to CZL.
"We are thrilled to have completed this transformative acquisition that provides IMPACT with production in a second mining district, bringing with it both production growth and exploration upside to the Company going forward. Plomosas is a unique and fully permitted operation built on a large mineral system with global tier one historic grades at 13%+ zinc providing exceptional potential to both upgrade and expand its current level of operations. We intend to lean on our 17 years of successful underground operating experience at the Royal Mines of Zacualpan and leverage this know-how to provide meaningful shareholder value and significant upside potential for all stakeholders across our exceptional ESG-centric operation," said Frederick Davidson, Chairman and CEO of IMPACT Silver. HIGHLIGHTS - The acquisition will expand IMPACT's production profile from one to two producing operations - the Plomosas zinc-lead-silver district in northern Mexico and the Royal Mines of Zacualpan silver-lead-zinc-gold district in central Mexico.
- At Plomosas, CZL reported JORC mineral resources1 of 215,000 tonnes grading 13.5% zinc, 6.3% lead and 34.0 g/t silver (indicated), and 772,000 tonnes grading 13.1% zinc, 3.0% lead and 19.0 g/t silver (inferred), at a 3% zinc cut-off at December 2021.
- IMPACT plans an aggressive drill program in 2023 to both infill the Plomosas resource and test extensions of known mineralization.
- Plomosas is known to host high-grade mineralization. Historical mining indicates grades in the global upper quartile for zinc, with approximately 2.5MT mined since 1943 grading 15-25% zinc, 2-7% lead and 40-60 g/t silver with low deleterious elements2.
- CZL has been mining Plomosas since September 2018. IMPACT plans to upgrade the mill and mine with the aim to continue mining alongside a meaningful expansion of operations.
- IMPACT's highly skilled operations team has 17 years of underground mining and flotation milling experience at its producing Zacualpan area assets, which will help up grade accelerate the efficient expansion of the Plomosas operation.
- Exploration potential at Plomosas is exceptional, with only 600m of the 6 km-long strike length having been explored to date. This is in addition to other exploration targets on the 3,019-hectare property including untested copper-gold targets with indications of high-grade material from surface.
PLOMOSAS PROJECT OVERVIEW In 2021, CZL processed 31,695 tonnes of mineral resulting in 2,442 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 599 tonnes of lead concentrate. Mineral processing is currently done amidst a potential 150+ tonne per day capacity, conventional flotation mill that is currently operating below design capacity. The Plomosas Property is subject to an underlying 1% Net Smelter Royalty. The 3,019-hectare property covers extensive carbonate replacement deposit-type ("CRD") zinc-lead-silver mantos (beds) mainly hosted in carbonates (limestones, marbles). Regionally, Plomosas lies in the same mineral belt as some of the largest CRD deposits in the world (see Map 1 below)2. The historic Santa Eulalia Mine is the world's largest historic CRD deposit and is located 100km west of Plomosas. Historic resources and production of regional CRDs include: -
- Santa Eulalia produced over 450Moz silver from 51MT averaging 350 g/t silver, 8.2% lead and 7.8% zinc and was mined over 300 years.
-
- Cinco De Mayo (Mag Silver Corp.) with limited drilling since 2012 reports Inferred Mineral Resources of 12.45 million tonnes at 132 g/t silver, 0.24 g/t gold, 2.86% lead, and 6.47% zinc at an NSR cut off of US$100/t.
-
- South32's (formerly Arizona Mining) Taylor deposit at the north end of the CRD belt in Arizona- reported Measured plus Indicated Resources of 115MT averaging 3.85% zinc, 4.34% lead and 79 g/t silver, and Inferred Resources of 24MT averaging 3.73% zinc, 3.82% lead and 91 g/t silver, and remains open at depth and along strike.
-
- Other large CRD mines also occur in the region (see Map 1 below).
Reference to these regional CRDs are for information purposes only and there are no assurances that Plomosas will achieve similar results. 2023.05.23 15:55 KVthegreatest Totaled 2015 ML 350, need help picking new Merc
Hello everyone!
Unfortunately, I recently totaled my ML 350. I bought it when I was an undergrad, and I was so proud to own that car. Now, I’m in a bit of a predicament because I have more money since I’ve graduated and work full-time, but my age and credit history still spike my rates a bit.
I have 2 courses of action: Lease or buy a pre-owned.
I’ve long desired to upgrade, and I wanted to go all-in and get a G-Wagon. However, leasing one is out of the question because the monthly would be too high for me to justify paying. So, I’m not against buying a used one, it’d just be about 8 years old and have 60,000+ miles on it.
The other option is to lease. But when I went to my local dealer, my best option would be a GLC or GLE. I don’t want the GLC since I would be downgrading in size from my ML. And while the new GLEs are beautiful, I’d be getting something very similar to my previous SUV.
So, I just wanted to hear if you all had any recommendations for a good course of action or any models. I’m open to hearing anything, and my mind is not made up yet. I’m just in a weird spot right now since I know I need to get a new car soon, but car buying is such a slow process. So, I need to make up my mind within the next 2-3 weeks max.
Thanks!
Edit: I'm also considering a Porsche Macan, but 1) Mercedes has always been my top brand and 2) I've heard that maintaining/fixing a Porsche can be hell.

2023.05.22 15:55 mariachidesconocido 2 weeks after....
Have had my '23 Genesis Electrified GV70 Prestige for 2 weeks and what can I say.... The car is great. My daily commute is short, around 12 mi one way, and I've gotten great mileage, up to 277 miles on a full charge. Have charged maybe 2 or 3 times a week (will get a home charger soon). The vehicle is great on the road. Really feel the luxury and so smooth and comfortable (oh and the massage!!!!). So really no complaints about the vehicle itself (will talk about some annoyances later).
Charging......
Would definitely recommend to have a home charger!!!! Can't wait to get mine! Although I got 3 years of Electrify America for 30 min DC charging and 60 min AC charging, the system is still hit and miss. Every station is different!!! Some have Ultra fast charging (up to 350 kWh), some have fast charging (up to 150 kWh) but most are slow charging (up to 50 kWh). I'm in Southern CA, specifically Alhambra (a sunburb of Los Angeles about 15 miles East), and there are a quite of few EV's out here so a lot of the stations do tend to get full quick and no matter what time. Have had 80% success in finding an EA charger but have had a couple of issues with capacity and also gas cars parking in EV spots (because all the fumes causes them to not be able to read signs!!! They should threaten towing or ticketing for parking in those spots if not an EV!!!), anyway, and one time I was at a pump that had 2 plugs and found out that if one is in use you can not use the other one!!! No sign on the pump warns you about that! So EA does have some work to do and parking lots and structures need to police non EV vehicles better.
Other charging companies are available but also hit and miss. Now Ultra fast charging is even harder to find. Was hoping to be able to test the 10 to 80 charge all the day long but closest one is 15 miles away!!! And got as fast as 194 kWh, which is great, but not as fast as I was hoping and was also not EA. Was so excited about having the EGMP platform because of that feature but it will be rare when I will have to go out and enjoy it.
The onboard navigation and other frustrations.... Well, it sucks. It's not the smartest routing system. Fair warning! You must use it to navigate to an EV charger to take advantage of the battery preconditioning!!!!!! So when I use Android Auto it will not work also it does not show my navigation on the HUD or the cluster!!! Come on Hyundai!!! My wife's 2016 Honda Accord did that why can't a 2023 beast of an EV do that!!!! Oh and not 1 USB C plug!!!! I still have some USB A to C cables but come on let's fix that! Wireless charging over heats my brand new Samsung S23+ so I tend not to use it. Which brings me to the lack of wireless AA or Car play.... I'm paying over 75k for this vehicle and we can't get that sorted out??? Don't understand why you want me to plug in my phone to get AA, which also charges the phone while it's plugged but it must lay on top of the wireless charfing pad??? Very dumb design in my opinion.
Anyway other than those small inconveniences would highly recommend this car and I love not seeing too many out there on the road not like Tesla's which are taking over the road out here.
Hope this will help some if your thinking of owning.

2023.05.22 00:42 Amazing_Flounder_461 Nissan Titan (OBD-II)
The Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck that was first introduced in 2004. It is a reliable and strong truck with impressive towing capacity. However, like any vehicle, it has its advantages and disadvantages.
One of the main advantages of the Nissan Titan is its powerful engine with excellent towing capacity. The 5.6-liter V8 engine produces up to 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, making it possible to tow up to 9,350 pounds. Additionally, the Titan offers a comfortable and spacious cabin with many advanced safety and infotainment features.
On the downside, the Nissan Titan's fuel efficiency is not very impressive. It takes up a lot of gas, which can be a concern if you plan to use it as your primary vehicle. Also, some drivers have reported issues with the transmission and suspension system.
However, OBD2 diagnostic tools can help detect any faults in the Nissan Titan's system. These tools can be used to check for any issues with the engine, transmission, or other systems. Some of the common faults that can be detected by OBD2 on the Nissan Titan include the transmission slipping or failing, misfires or engine hesitation, and problems with the fuel system.
We recommend using TOAD (Total OBD & ECU Auto Diagnostics) for performing comprehensive health and performance checks on your Nissan Titan. TOAD is a complete professional OBD2 scan tool software that can be used with ELM327 interfaces. This powerful tool can be used to detect any faults in your vehicle so that you can fix them before they turn into a bigger problem.
You can access TOAD through the link
https://bit.ly/TOADKitTool. We highly recommend this tool to every Nissan Titan owner to ensure the health and longevity of your vehicle.

2023.05.21 01:36 1quirky1 Replacing the wife's grocery getter
Background: My wife's car was totaled. We occasionally tow a 2,000-LB trailer. We had a 2003 Durango 4.7L V8 that did okay. Being a Dodge it needed a lot of my work to keep it going.
In 2018 we replaced the Durango with a 2015 $48,500 Porsche Cayenne Diesel 3.0 V6 VW TDI with 48k on the odometer. I know that's a big jump. The used Cayenne was less expensive, had all the options, and had a better warranty than a new Durango Citadel. We didn't miss the third row seat.
We loved that Cayenne. It towed that trailer like it wasn't there. We didn't care about the Volkswagen Touareg diesel in a "Poorsche" body hate. That Cayenne gave us zero problems for five years until a month ago when some clown hit it and totaled it. I really wish they would have fixed it. :( Insurance gave us $44,500 for it. I would be happy if having only $4k of depreciation didn't come with having to replace it in today's market.
Our search: We were spoiled by the Cayenne. I can't find a replacement diesel Cayenne with all the options. The used market doesn't have any good ones.
Our budget is higher than the $44k payout because pandemic and inflation - Max $65k maybe $70k if we find something we really like. We're looking at well-optioned used luxury mid-size SUVs or new mid-size SUVs with all the options.
We run our cars into the ground. We are not excited about this because we're likely getting a pandemic/inflation downgrade at a higher cost.
Must haves: - My wife is short. I am tall. It must fit her. She is out trying on cars like shoes. That's our "short" list below, pun intended.
- Seat/mirrosteering-wheel memory, so power telescoping steering wheel (or movable pedals)
- Ventilated seats (which pushes us to the higher trim models of any model)
- Lane change assist
- Parking sensors
- Towing Class 3 hitch
Preferences:
- Panoramic roof
- 6cyl over a 4cyl w/turbo
Initial short list because we must start somewhere: - Mazda CX90 2024 - I'm leery of getting a first model year of anything, but the Mazda brand is well regarded. I like the inline 6 with turbo. It is a bit on the small side, but it is big for a Mazda.
- Porsche Cayenne 2019-2021 model year gas V6 with or without turbo. Avoiding the V8 due to cost and coolant pipe issues. If only we could find a replacement diesel!
- BMW X5
- Acura MDX
- Mercedes GLE 450 (We have a W212 2010 Mercedes E350 that is awesome)
- Volvo XC90 - no 6cyl available
- Toyota Highlander - no 6cyl available
Initial no-go list because we must start somewhere - biases and prejudices ahead -
let me know if I'm being unfair and limiting myself: - Anything Nissan because it is the Dodge of Japan
- Mazda CX-9 because the CX-90 is bigger and nicer, if we're going Mazda
- Lexus are ugly with those predator-face grilles - I'd rather have a fully-optioned highlander
- BMW X7 is too big/expensive - we'd rather get a Cayenne first
- Anything Korean - their quality fluctuates, engine issues, kia boyz, and they're cheap knockoffs of other, better cars
- VW Atlas looked good until we learned about VW's reliability ratings
- Audi because "see VW" and they tend to screw over their customers outside of warranty while we plan on keeping this vehicle a long time.
- I have never been a fan of american cars, except for one awesome pre-Opel Saturn I owned for several years. I grew up wrenching late-70s/early-80s Hondas when cheap american cars were utter garbage, and have owned a flawless Prius for 18 years

2023.05.18 01:36 That_Car_Dude_Aus Is it fair to compare RAM models to other vehicles in their price range?
So looking at the RAM Trucks in Australia, looking around $150,000AUD ($99,842.55USD) for a 1500, around $175,000AUD ($116,482.98USD) for a 2500 and around $210,000 ($139,779.57) for a 3500
At $150,000AUD ($99,842.55USD) for a 1500, a vehicle that is still fundamentally a family car, albeit a big one, it hasn't got the same tech features as other vehicles in its price range in Australia being Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assistance, Blind Spot Monitoring, Auto Lane Follow, Adaptive Cruise Control, and the one we looked at didn't even have ISOFIX Baby Seat points.
Then when you start looking at the 2500 and 3500, you're looking at a work vehicle for those prices.
Starts being comparable to an Isuzu N series, a Mitsubishi Canter, Iveco Daily, Hino 300 and other light trucks.
But then you start looking at their service plans, guaranteed uptime (8, 16, or 24h return to service or a guaranteed rental), roadside repair (RAM just offers towing), and other perks that you get when buying a commercial vehicle
After speaking to the RAM dealer they said they don't have any kind of setup infrastructure for that kind of support when it comes to service and maintenance, it's more like a passenger car, but even then, when you look at the price range, there's no kind of priority on breakdowns like you would get with say, a $175,000 Mercedes.
They kind of exist in this weird middle ground where you're not getting the support you would expect from a work truck from a mainstream brand, and you're not getting the support you would expect for the $$ value
It's like you're buying a $175-200,000 Camry.
I mean I want one, the 2500 was excellent to drive, has the best bang for buck towing capacity, the service intervals are a little bizarre (13,000kms, most comparable vehicles are 15-25,000kms), the ride was excellent for what it is, it's definitely is a small truck pretending to be a car, and it pulls that off really well.
It's just the economics of the whole situation, it just doesn't seem to make sense no matter what way I look at it.
