2023.06.07 00:58 Iseeyoucutopen The Japan Bourbon Hunt
While I know there are some amazing dusty, rare-finds to be had in Japan, I am with the family and just popping by stores in areas where we are doing other adventures. I am trying to find stuff that I can’t easily buy in the US. So far I have gotten a few bottles of WT12 and EW12 to bring back. Anything else I should look for? I have seen Four Roses Premium as well, but I am not a huge FR guy. I have found Blanton’s black and gold fairly easily, but I have no interest in the black. No Red at all so far. The Gold is pricey, but is it worth it? The reviews all seem to indicate it is. I am in Osaka/Kyoto area for the rest of the trip.

2023.06.07 00:58 UnderestimatdEdible I think solo buffs to traits should only apply in solo v. trio, not solo v. duo.
High MMR solos usually don't push, they run back if pursued. If you down them, they have ample time to get up since they are behind cover. This is exceptionally annoying in duos. If your partner is down, you have severely limited options. Even if you kill the solo, you cannot get your partner up. Solo traits seem fair in solo v. trio. But, severely unfair in solo v. duo.

2023.06.07 00:57 PokingDogSnouts [32/m] Company in rough seas!
Is anyone also in need of company through the rough waters of life? Four favorites of mine are the Beach Boys,
The Sound of Magic, The Little Prince
, and the *Banjo-Kazooie series. Just putting major interests down, in hopes of connecting with somebody similar. I love to sing and play music, primarily from the sixties, but anything lovely and meaningful will do. The era best exemplifies the open-heartedness I wish more people would embrace. Though, I know how tough it can be. To trust, and have it trodden on and torn apart. But, I know it doesn’t mean there aren’t better people in the world.
Here’s a song recorded just for anyone reading my post. I’m still grappling with long-COVID after 2+ years. My favorite show I’ve seen this year is
The Sound of Magic. Its soundtrack is incredibly beautiful in that lush, dreamlike vein that all the original Disney films were made in—
Pinocchio,
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I love the medium of games, from its primitive origins in titles like
Breakout and
Defender, to
Yoshi’s Island and
Ocarina of Time, all the way up to the present-day. It’d be nice to come across somebody who shares any of these things in common. It’d be especially nice to play games with somebody, whether on Switch or PS4! And, of course, anything you would like to share with me, that hopefully has the same spirit, would be more than welcome! Anyway, thanks for reading… Hope it reaches somebody, out there.

2023.06.07 00:57 lifeDNP Pairing HD25s with Fidelio X2HR
I have an old pair of HD25s but looking for something over ear with wider soundstage and better detail retrieval.
Mostly listen to electronic, acoustic, rock.
Will lean more to enjoyment than faithful reproduction.
Home use so open back is good. Have an amp if required.
Was thinking the Fidelios are in the budget but wondering if the sound signature or improvement from HD25s would be noticeable or I should look at something else?

2023.06.07 00:57 joeluvsbuds I feel like I could be trans how do you know for sure?
As a gay man I have been questioning myself on and off. I know for sure I don’t identify with the masculine traits as much. Personality wise I feel like I am more of a female in that sense. So it feels like a threat when I be myself as a man because people expect me to be more masculine.
I remember memories of me dressing up as a girl when I was way younger and I question myself, did I enjoy doing that?
I started looking into makeup and I question if I look good in that
I started looking at what women wear and I question if I look good in that.
The thing is, some days I look good as a man but other days I feel like I enjoy looking like a woman and feeling like one as much as I can even though I’ll never be one biologically speaking.
It’s just that, I don’t like the fact that I am constrained by a gender when gender itself is a social construct. I can still be a female if I please but the thing is, I feel ultimately confused. I know for sure that I don’t want to get surgery to remove my you know what and I refuse to take estrogen pills. I just want to experiment more though. I’ve seen makeup videos, I’ve seen myself in a female filter, I’ve pretended to be like a female several times as a “joke” but now I am starting to question who am I really?
As a gay man I never was masculine dominant. I am more of a feminine bottom if that makes sense. I find empathy, compassion, and openness to new things much more compelling with the added bonus of looking like a female on some days.
What would you even classify this as? I am frustrated at myself that I can’t be the same gender that I was born into. Because society tells you otherwise. But I am tired of acting like someone I’m not. I am still a male but some days I want to dress up and live this barbie doll fantasy if that makes sense.

2023.06.07 00:57 SCP_radiantpoison I asked Chat-GPT for an original episode of Criminal Minds based on a cool idea I saw in another thread!
Title: "Blast from the Past"
Opening Quote: "The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." - William James
Episode Summary:
The episode begins with a series of devastating bombings across the city, leaving the population in a state of fear and panic. The BAU is called in to investigate the case, and the team's resident genius, Dr. Spencer Reid, takes the lead in delivering the profile of the elusive unsub.
Spencer Reid meticulously studies the crime scenes and evidence, searching for patterns and insights that will aid in understanding the bomber's motivations. As he delves into the twisted mind of the unsub, Reid's profile begins to take shape. He determines that the bomber is likely driven by a deep-seated need for control and power. Their meticulous planning and execution of the bombings point to a person who thrives on instilling fear and chaos.
In a meeting with the team, Reid shares his profile, highlighting key characteristics of the unsub. He describes the individual as highly intelligent, methodical, and meticulous. The unsub's need for control stems from a past marked by a lack of power or failed attempts at asserting themselves. Reid hypothesizes that the unsub may have experienced significant personal setbacks, such as failed relationships or career disappointments, leading them to seek revenge against the city and its inhabitants.
Meanwhile, the team faces an unexpected twist when Penelope Garcia, the BAU's tech analyst, discovers a suspect with a highly suspicious search history. The individual's online activities align disturbingly with the profile provided by Reid. Convinced they have found their unsub, the team mobilizes swiftly, determined to prevent any further attacks.
The BAU conducts surveillance on the suspect and gathers enough evidence to obtain a search warrant. During the raid, they discover a cache of bomb-making materials and blueprints, further solidifying their belief that they have captured the perpetrator. However, as the investigation progresses, doubts begin to emerge.
The team digs deeper into the suspect's background and conducts thorough interviews. They soon discover that the individual's search history, which initially appeared alarming, was actually research for a crime thriller novel they were writing. The suspect, an aspiring author, had no intention of causing harm but was simply immersing themselves in the world of their fictional work.
Realizing their mistake, the BAU must confront the consequences of their hasty assumptions. The innocent suspect, traumatized by the experience, is released, and the team refocuses their efforts on finding the true unsub.
Regrouping, the BAU reexamines the evidence, seeking any overlooked details or connections that may lead them closer to the real perpetrator. As the city remains on high alert, the pressure intensifies for the team to solve the case before the next bombing occurs.
Through dogged determination and painstaking analysis, the BAU uncovers a potential suspect—a disenchanted former employee who harbors a deep grudge against the city's government. The team races against time to locate the unsub's hidden location, armed with a cache of explosives and plans for future attacks.
In a heart-pounding climax, the BAU confronts the unsub, employing their expertise and teamwork to neutralize the threat and save innocent lives. With the apprehension of the true perpetrator, the city can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The episode concludes with a reflection on the dangers of rushing to judgment, emphasizing the importance of thorough investigation and critical thinking.
The BAU's dedication to justice and their ability to adapt and learn from mistakes ultimately ensures the safety and well-being of the city and its residents.

2023.06.07 00:56 Throwaway_2747294 Fence over property line
A few years ago, I bought a house in Maryland. We get to the closing and it was brought to my attention the survey showed the fence around our backyard goes well past our property line. I was so excited at closing that I stupidly said not to worry about it. Behind our house is a wooded area, owned by our county, with a small piece of HOA common area between my yard and the woods. The fence encroaches on this HOA common area. So here’s the thing, in my area you need a fence permit and an HOA approval for the fence, both of which were obtained by the previous owners in 2015 when the fence was installed. We currently maintain the entire area, we have fully gardened it, etc. If some day, someone on the HOA were to find out, do I have any legal grounds to keep my fence where it is or would I have to comply by moving the fence and ripping out the garden? Currently, my neighbors, not on the HOA, know about this and don’t care.

2023.06.07 00:56 chickasawcool How do I reduce the number of cards that I currently have? What are the two best cards for my situation?
I have collected quite a bit of credit cards over the years. They've also gotten me into trouble with debt and has been difficult to manage. I've recently just paid off all my credit cards (with the exception of the Petal One card) and I'm looking to reduce the number of cards I have and to have the best selection of cards to get rewards. This has affected my credit score which I'm looking to work on building.
I travel for work around 2-3x a quarter and would like to travel 2-3x a year for fun (weddings, trips, etc.). So I think a travel card would be cool. Other than that, I'd just like a card with the most perks. I like to go out to eat, nightlife, sporting events, concerts, etc.
Any recommendations would be awesome. Thank you!

- I want the two best cards. Maybe one for Travel and one for cashback
- Do you have any cards you've been looking at?
- Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card?
- I think general spending is best for me. Category spending might be too complicated for my use case.

Another morning came upon the Tuskir settlement, which's inhabitants have been shambling about with a bit less tension in their steps.
The perimeter walls of their small village have been reinforced by Runhar's earth molding magics. Rok and Brekda have been assisting him in keeping the perimeter watched at all times.
This precaution was necessary as a lot of the Tuskir village's able bodied fighters have been rendered less than optimally effective in combat. Although generally safe, a small tension filled thought gnawed at the back of their minds. The chance of a second assault was something the tribe considered.
Honestly, at a first glance this would be a most opportun time to assault the place, especially with their elder and most skilled healer, Urla, still mostly bed ridden due to exerting herself when healing others.
Still, they tried to go back to a normal state of operating as best as they could, having to make certain compromises. Discussing among themselves the whole group decided to give as best an aid as possible to the two wounded Hay-yen that they still found alive within their walls, asking their previous captives, the ones more willing to co-operate to take care of them. The procurement of constant supplies of food and water up to the present time made them quite willing to assist.
During this time Michael had been spending his time along Zurra and Woh. Zurra, having taken on the responsability to assist the, hopefully temporarily, crippled hooman, has been going about this task while giving aid in any other mundane endeavors like taking care of the children along side Runny, Brekda's wife.
In one such moment did Michael find a moment to reflect upon the situation as he was left at the base of Spek's tree alongside Woh. Still, contemplation would have to wait as the human's amphoran companion seemed rather excited for chit-chat, indicated by repeating irregular and excited croaks leaving her throat.
"Michael! Michael! Its been a few days! Can you walk, yet?" Woh asked her question with such a light hearted and casual tone as if she expected Michael to grow back his legs if he actually lost them.
The young man, taking a moment to process the question, shook his head while arching an eyebrow. "Pfft. I'd wish, honestly. To be fair they hurt as all hell, but I am glad whatever herbs Zurra's been reapplying my bandages with have been numbing them. I don't know how well healing magic will work to help me if... at all, but I have been terrified that... I might not walk again. At least... not properly." Michael said choking a bit on his words.
Nervousness washed over him as he looked down at his wrapped up legs, faint blood stains covering them here and there. He only looked at his legs once when Zurra was changing the bandages, he was numbed up good, but the sight of them was something too visceral to not make his mind aware of the pain he should be in. Although suppressed, he could feel his legs burn in a muffled agony.
The mana burn had turned the young man's skin and toe nails to actual ashes that Zurra had to clean off, a rather painstakingly slow endeavor due to how caked in blood the ashes were. From bellow the knees the young man was akin to one of those skinless statues showing the human's body muscular fiber, only minor patches of actual skin hanging on here and there.
Woh kind of grew silent for a moment, before shaking her head as her big round eyes looked at Michael. "W-well don'tcha worry! Even if you can't walk we're here, s-so... we'll be able to help! If I was bigger I wouldn't mind lugging you about like a sack of timber! 'Cause you'd be the best sack of timber to ever be and 'cause we're friends." Woh said with a happy croak, trying her best to cheer up the young man.
Michael snickered and smirked and he shook his head, petting Woh's covered back. "Thanks. It'll be my honor to do my best interpretation of a heavy sack, but I'm hoping I can be fixed." After taking a moment to lean back against Spek's trunk and to look up at his crown of branches and leaves, the young man took in a deep breath. "Woh... I'm going to need your help with something. I know you might be not too happy about it, but if you'll allow it...I'd like us to make some vials of your poison, even if it is distilled with some water."
"O-oh... uhm... well... uhh... ya been sayin' that it doesn't do you much harm and... it has been helping you fight, so maybe I don't mind if we make a small bottle or two of it, but ya gotta promise to still be careful, ok?! Ribbit, last thing I want to do is hurt you with it." The tiny pink frog like woman said with a small croak of worry leaving her throat.
Michael sat silent a moment as he looked at his hands and forearms and at the slight yellowish hue they had. His skin has taken to the color just recently, bit by bit. His brown irises with eyes ever so faintly yellow as well, would look at Woh, a small smile accompanying it, although preceeded by the human sucking in his lips slightly. "Y-you won't be hurting me. You can trust that. Hell after what happened, you're the last person that could do that. So no need to be afraid. Whatever choices you make, you can do me no foul."
Woh looked at him, with an ease washing over her tiny form. "Fair enough then. Say. Since its been kinda borin' around 'ere, mind using your magic thingy, what ya called it... ah! Your
phoon! To put on that one song you said it is about happiness and not worrying? I liked how it sounded."
"Hah. Gladly. We'll be around here a while, at least until Zurra wants to do my physical therapy. Still kind of regreting telling her about that when she asked about what my kind do to help maintain one's muscles when they can't train and how to deal with pain." Michael said with a small laugh, followed by a grunt of discomfort caused by a stab of his sore body at itself due to the contracting muscles. He'd soon go through his phone and put the tune in question to play on repeat.
"Hah~ there it is... I don't get why, but the song does make me happy. Thanks!" Woh said with a greatful ribbit as she laid down inbetween some of Spek's roots and using them like a lounging chair. She would look up at the tree for a moment too, mouthing a silent
'thank you' to it.
The day would go on to pass as calm as can be, until the late afternoon, when Runhar nearly had a scare for a moment, when he saw torch light coming from deeper within the woods. Still, with a sniff of the air and feeling the scents of Gharna, Oinna, Azhul and Yenna, the guard captain would calm down as he then asked Rok to prepare opening the gates.
When the group came within sight they could be seen pausing as they looked about, their heads clearly turing to examine the surrounding outskirts of their village on the outside.
"What in the name of The Hunt Father happened?!" Gharna yelled out eventually as they got closer, their pace having increased as they saw their home in shambles. "The wall is lookin' like a mess. Is everyone alright?"
"Most, aye!" Runhar yelled and after a moment paused. "Come, there's more to discuss!" The guard captain added as he descended from the watch tower he had climbed up on while on watch.
The group of four was eventually welcomed in and after a quick retelling of their journey and a quick stock of what they brought, which was pulled to storage, Runhar would recount the events that occured here. The whole endevour was burned upon his mind... he couldn't help himself to not go into details, some of which made him visibly look saddened or furious. He eventually even backtracked to what happened to Spek and... how it happened.
To say the least... it was a lot to process, and the news about Spek becoming a... tree... had a mix of reactions.
"Gah... the situation is shite, but I'm kinda pissed I missed ma' using the family technique. I still can't do it nowhere as good as her. Got the getting bigger part down somewhat though." Azhul said with a huff.
"S-seriously? That's yer first concern?!" Gharna added with a snort as she stared up at her bigger hunt sister.
"What do ya wan' me tha do?! Cry about it? I feel like shite, but I ain' gonna break apart over it. Not when we have tha keep things together." Azhul oinked back in retort.
"I-... I have to agree with Azhul. I will check on Urla and see to who's still wounded. If Michael is taken care of at least somewhat for now, I will see to make sure everyone else that can be dealt with quicker, is up on their two feet!" Oinna said with a determined huff as she excused herself and trotted off.
"I'mma be sleepin' a bit. Sleepin' on the road has been a pain." Yenna added with a half dozing off snort as he left. Although he was hit by the initial shock of the situation as well, it only added to the mental exhaustion that traveling has taken on him.
Azhul and Gharna were still lightly huffing at one another, until the latter's eyes sparked with a realization. Gharna's eyes would look at Runhar. "Say, cap'. Ya said Zurra's been takin' care of Michael. Thought we should talk with her, too. Where's she?" She asked very curious, a snort leaving her flat nose.
"Ah... think she might be in his shack with 'im. She said that she wanted to do- " Before Runhar could finish his sentence properly, Azhul seemed to be hit by panic.
It didn't take long to the large Tuskir woman to realize what Gharna was asking and partially hearing Runhar's reply, sent her in nearly a frenzy of embarrasment. "DO HIM?! MA! STOP!"
On the way here Azhul tried telling herself it wasn't possible for something like this to happen, but as her heart rate spiked she attempted to take off toward's Michael's hut.
The nearly stampede like charge though, would be prematurely stopped by Gharna, who wrapped her arms arounds Azhul's waist. While trying to not snort out of sheer amusement, she coughed trying to sound serious. "Wait a wee moment. If ya barge in there while she's doin' him, ya really want tha see that? Might be better to see what the situation... pft... ahem... is... quietly."
Runhar a bit surprised by this whole situation, wanted to finish his sentence, only to be interrupted by Gharna's clear gaze to not utter another word. He even took a moment to chuckle internally, appreciating the bit of amusement after the shit show they have been through.
"Y-yeah... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah... Don't wanna make it worse... oh... h-ho... Hunter Father... please don't let it be too late." Azhul muttered as she walked at a really fast, yet quiet pace.
Gharna would follow up after whispering some words of thanks to Runhar. "Ya kno' can't really blame her, if Michael faught like Runhar says he did. Yer mother did always... pft... ahem... a-appftt... preciate a... ahem... sturdy warrior type o' man."
"I will wrangle your throat if ye utter another bloody word." Azhul said to Gharna, without even looking back.
Still, as they approached Michael's hut and listened, Azhul's expression would only change to that of someone who has seen or heard the most disturbing of the secrets held by eldritch gods of the cosmos.
The sound of a creaking bed frame, the moans of Michael in a mix of pain and pleasure and the groans of Zurra as if she was riding a most unruly beast. The trifecta of trauma had fully hit Azhul into a silent stunned coma as he charge stopped to a full halt.
"Agh- god... you're working the knots out of me." Michael could be heard groaning in pain before letting a grunted moan of relief.
"Told ya boi. If we huff... just changed positions a bit and ye gave me a pointer or two... I could get ya done. Ya ain't so different from any ol' tuskir man. Huh... yer givin' me a bit o' a workout." The older smithy woman could be heard lightly panting.
Gharna got silent as well, feeling embarrased as all hell, but nowhere nearly as bad as Azhul, who seemed to have been shell shocked, her eyes staring into nothingness.
"O-oh! Oh no! Hah! That's sensitive t-take it easy on me a bit! Hah!" The young man groaned, which prompted Azhul to crumble to her knees.
The sudden sound of the short fall made the sound from the hut stop. Heavy steps would soon approach the door and open it, as Zurra looked out towards the two.
"Oh! Yer back! Glad to see ye two fine an' well. Uh... what are ya doin'?" The old Tuskir woman asked as she stretched herself a bit, then popping her knuckles.
The two younger women stood silent, until Gharna could finally utter something. "We-... uh... we're good. W-what... uhm... what were ya doin'?" She said nearly choking.
"Ah. Just givin' da boi a massage. After the fight we had he's in shambles if ya haven't 'eard. Gettin' a wee bit tired, so I could use a hand." Zurra said most casually.
To this reply, Azhul go on her palms as well and pressed her snout to the ground. "Thank ye, Hunt Father... oh huh... thank you..." she said whispered, in a slightly whimpering tone, with sighs of relief leaving her.
Gharna calming down too, nodded. "Ye. Gladly." As she passed by Azhul though, she snickered and whispered to her. "Nearly had tha call 'im daddy there, ay?" She asked before stepping up and inside.
Azhul took a moment to calm down, as she contemplated the repercussions of murder, before approaching the shack and talking with her mother. Glad to see one another, the two went into detail about all the events that happened, together with Michael, who was happy to see them both her and Gharna.

2023.06.07 00:56 ShadowZealot7 First time printing a bigger piece, should I hollow it?
Heya everyone,
Just started doing resin printing recently, using an Elegoo Saturn 2. So far I've just been printing 25-50mm miniatures for use in the Pathfinder campaign I'm running for my friends, which has been awesome so far! These pieces haven't required any hollowing due to their size.
However, I wanted to try making a gift out of a larger dragon mini I found online for my dad (linked below), but after some preliminary research I'm worried that even the modular pieces would be too big to cure thoroughly enough without hollowing it, something I have no experience with, but am willing to spend the time figuring out. I'd like to avoid the thing cracking open and spilling resin at my folks' place.
I was curious if there's a good rule of thumb more veteran printers use for determining whether or not hollowing is necessary.
Thanks for any advice!

2023.06.07 00:56 RustyManHinges2 Strategies for taking the king?
There’s a reason I’m using this sub instead of the chess one😂my knowledge of chess is improving and I’m analyzing various openings. So I know how to move and open up my pieces for the play, but I just don’t know anything further. I draw blanks for when it comes to actually having a plan to take it, so it comes to me literally having just the king and a little pawn to get rid of and I’m just dancing over the board trying to checkmate. Any tips or plays?

2023.06.07 00:56 Psychological-Ad7125 Visiting for the first time
Hey all, I'm (30F) bringing my bf (29m) over to Cardiff for two nights end of June (Fri night in at 10pmish and flying home 1pmish on Sunday). Quick visit. Were both Irish. We're staying beside the castle, however apart from that I'm wondering does anyone have suggestions for something not super touristy, or where a million children won't be 😅 he loves castles so we will do that but we are child free and not exactly mad into super touristy events. He also doesn't like theatre or museums. We like drinking (alcohol, coffee), good food (both into fine dining and open to everything but prefer casual) and he is mad into techno music but I couldn't find any events on that I didn't think we'd be the oldest at. Budget is probably in the middle! We will go to the market as well as I love them and get Welsh cakes. Might do a boat trip but I think the goods ones are booked out (my bad) unless anyone knows where I can rent our own boat/speedjets!!! Thanking you in advance and looking forward to visiting your city :D x

2023.06.07 00:56 girlhelpimdying I'm really sick of all the 'it sucks to be a man' posts on this sub
There's been so many for the past two weeks. Everything from 'I don't get compliments', 'I don't get touched', to 'I hate my life as a guy'.
Honestly. Get new friends. I get that it's hard, especially to make friends as an adult. But supportive people aren't going to fall out of the sky. Join clubs. Do things you enjoy. If you want compliments, give compliments. If you want someone to hold open the door for you, make a habit of opening the door for other people. If you don't want to be seen as a threat in public, don't do things that made you feel unsafe when you presented femininely.
If you surround yourself with dickheads, your life is going to be full of dickheads.

2023.06.07 00:56 mexicadean Asked my ecrush to be gf at said the sky (EDC LV 23)
Been going to uni on the east coast, just getting by down in lil rhodey where I find myself joining the closest thing to Frankenstein of an edc group. We start out this fairy tale with the new england cast (all of which nvr been to edc): my rave homie for the past year, his roommate, his gf from another school (who btw still has school until mid juneeeee wtf) and me. The LA cast also all in uni made of the liaison and her 4 friends. Rewind to the fall, before this is even kickstarted, work calls and my homie is called into NYC, met a colleague, and before you know it the two are already talking up a storm bout insomniac's greatest event of the year … without doubt, EDC LV. Upon dedicating their respective party people to embark on the birth of a new rave family, no one can deny neither how far fetched nor flat out one of the most lenient investments of trust any of us could ever give. In currency, however, the two exchanged photos of his roommate and I as well as photos of her friends. The chase was on, those who wish to participate stick their neck out v far all in hopes of finding something lasting past the weekend. Yet, I can't help but think that in these most improbable of moments, the universe just happens to send someone your way … in due time. Before you know it, she reaches out.
Fast forward to the end of our salutations, we talk get to know each other, graduate to ft and spend many hours throughout the course of a month figuring out how we like to occupy time together, how we converse, and how we react. Almost as if she and I took a pulse on what vibed and what didn't. It goes by painfully slow, day in and out trying to close out the end of my semester. Nevertheless, we await the day we are scheduled to meet in person. If everything goes as planned, she and the rest of the gals driving up from LA, check in to the Airbnb and pick us up at the airport the next day DDD: scary. Yet, it follows through, after traveling already close to 6 hours to vegas, the party was just getting started the moment we landed. Greated with shots, the warm vodka scraped the walls of my throat only to be received by a chaser that had more alc IN it … argh oh well, might as well get fucked up. Step 2 completed.
After navigating the usual congestion of opening day, both her and I strangely feeling v lovey dovey. There was some energy in the air that I couldn't have imagined before this night. We go to a few sets, enjoy our time out together, and end up at said the sky. Climbing up to the bleachers one by one, the edc skyline begins to emerge the tops of every stage starting to appear further and further until we find our seats center stage. After what felt like only but a moment after the start of the set, my ears begin to thump as I hear the fireworks go off across the electric sky. And as if I wrote the script to begin with, a light rain begins to fall. Nothing but a drizzle, yet I pull out an e blanket to share. With a rush of what felt like a pure flow state, I effortlessly said the words which I'd never felt so compelled to say before in my life. As rush over me approaches its apex in the background, hiding under the veil of the blanket, I ask her to be my gf. With a smile erupting from her face, no amount of mdma could reproduce the moment she said yes. Core memory to be guarded forever.

2023.06.07 00:55 PokingDogSnouts 32 [M4F] Is anyone also in need of company through the rough waters of life? Four favorites of mine are the Beach Boys, The Sound of Magic, The Little Prince, and the Banjo-Kazooie series.

2023.06.07 00:55 johnsgurl CCTV Options for home and livestock
Hello! So I'm looking for options for my farm and home. A little backstory. I have a small farm. I live on the property. We are in the process of opening the farm as a nonprofit that serves those is early substance use recovery, felons and veterans. We'll also be open to the public for events and tours.
Recently, I was outside after dark and I could hear people talking. I heard a bunch of laughter and then, someone said, "I'd ride the little one!" I have alpacas, highland cows, pigs and horses. The pasture is right next to the road. Sound carries weird out here as well. That got my hackles up because nothing out there is rideable and well, I don't want drunken people on my property without my permission.
Two days later, I was outside with my dogs during the day. I heard the voice again. Same voice. Two men were riding by the pasture on bikes.
In addition to that, given the clients we're serving, I do need to protect my home and livestock. This is not a situation of judging people based on their past. I fall into two of those categories myself and I know what happens when addiction and hopelessness are in play. It's less a matter of fear and more a matter of not setting clients up for failure.
I need a system that I can view in real time while also allowing recording. Alerts would be awesome too. We will have an armed security detail with dogs as well. By security detail, I mean my husband walking the property with our Belgian Malinois. We're not that fancy.
I'm mostly worried about my livestock and the barn we're going to build. I have electric fence. I'm looking to add a coded entry gate as well. I do not want game cams. The system does need to be affordable. I'm not looking to drop 30k on a security system.
I appreciate all your suggestions! TIA!

2023.06.07 00:55 Nutellabrah Feels like not enough people see Dota as a race of timings rather than what you actually build. It’s not just what you build, but when.
This might seem obvious to say but I feel like from what I see out there in the theory crafting of people, not enough people see past the fluff of Dota items and understand what's actually conceptually happening under the hood at the core of the stat and leveling system and the colors. One of the theories I have about Dota is that we should consider the benefits of heroes and builds on a parallel timeline of potential power spike timings, alongside just the logistical benefits of items, and consider alternative potential solutions to winning games by just being quicker. Almost any hero that has stat growth over 2.9 or so should stack as many stat items of their color as a basic default strat and only build something else if it’s so good that its worth being weaker, slower and less effective during fights.
Imagine you’re in a game and you start to build items and many good players will look at the enemy lineup and build things that directly counter them like armo armor reduction, magic protection, utility and logistical solutions such as direct hero mechanics counters and all these things; but have you also considered just being faster than them to melt them as a tool in your repertoire? Theres no need to direct counter them if they're dead so fast that they cant fight back. well if theres an option out there on the timeline to straight up melt your opponent early mid game/mid game if you were to build this this and this... would you know to take it? Or will you always stick with the passive route?
Sometimes there are timings with various heroes and builds that if reached at a critical mass of efficiency, at a fast enough time, they can just win the game on timing alone -independently of any particular hard counters.
Like one hero might be a natural hard counter to another, unless that other hero gets to a certain point too fast and achieves too much relative value too soon. And there are many such gaps and spike possibilities in Dota. Theres tons of tricky ways to find snowball possibilities.
There’s many counters to many strategies, but sometimes the solution could be one where it’s just a faster timing. It’s not always what you get, but how fast you get it.
Let’s talk DPS. Any one item is just ok but when you stack slots to compound and double down on things its potential to be devastating is unlocked. As far as standard damage there is in order of hierarchy base damage, attack speed, and augmenters. Base attack is self explanatory, but only getting base damage has diminishing returns past a point. The major multiplier is attack speed. But you can’t have it without damage or you just attack really fast doing not much damage. If you have only damage but no attack it’s too slow and it’s ineffective unless you’re attacking for like 2k which would be impossible to achieve raw damage. So then after decent base damage and decent attack speed they have diminishing returns to add more so the next is augmentors. This can be many categories like armor shred/reduction, crit, additional dot, increased dot, slows or cc. You don’t want these without damage and speed but these can give you a higher DPS total for less money and more value much faster when added on.
This is true in many games not just dota or Mobas. Having a stack of these concentrated as much as you can fit in 6 slots is a wide open world of micro spikes. The classic is 2 or 3 early wraiths/nulls into treads into 1000$ based item of your color into a short stack of mid game items of your color such as pikes, mantas and desos/revenant brooches. Don’t forget every color has massive benefits stacked in an encounter. You have more HP, more Armor, more magic, more attack speed. More everything you need to feel stronger. If the enemy doesn't have that you will feel a strong advantage of efficiency and can choose tontine fights and take obj.
Sometimes I consider how many possible parallel lines of theoretical courses a game could take, and I try to think of it on a timeline of power spikes overlayed with each other and I consider: if I try to get the proverbial finish line of that power spike fast enough, will they be able to stop us?
Sometimes the traditional build for a hero is slower than a build that might have flat out won the game one way or another on the basis that the opponents didn't have time to get to a good place.
I always go back to the old adage that if we had infinite slots, we would just buy a branch every 50$ we get because it’s 50$ per 1 stat. While end game items give you 1 stat for around 200$ or more. So the cheaper low and mid items are the most cost effective, just we have no space. But within the space we do have, there is room for min-maxes of efficiency. Whats the most you can fit? Tier 1 and Tier 2 stat items are the quickest builds in the game, if you have a mini critical-mass of them. It’s ok if you have one or two stat items, but if you have like 6 of them too soon, it’s a huge problem for anyone in general who isn't doing the same or is instead playing passive or slower, so there’s nothing else available to your opponents to do to keep up, except mirroring you or extremely effective TI level turtling (unlikely in pubs).
I always try to think about not what I want to do, but what my opponents dont want me to do. —What is the last thing they would want me to do to them? What would-be devastating to what they need and want? Then I do it. Usually the answer to that question ends up being they dont want me to attack yet, they want more time to farm their medium-slow mid-game build, they dont want me to do a quick build and press them now.
Keep an eye out for the ability to build like this sometimes. Most of the time they won’t punish you for it in any way, and you’d be a fool to be the strongest character on the map prematurely, and not take advantage of it with objectives and early dominance.
It’s not always a counter of logistical items that is available to you, but also a potential counter on the timeline of build spikes that should be happening in your minds eye.
