2023.06.07 00:22 dergruneapfel Is my styloid process elongated?

31M.
I've been having pain along the jawline, underneath my ear, and into the side of my hyoid. Around the carotid artery. This is occurring on my left. My right side is almost entirely pain-free. This is just a quick picture I took of the X-Ray. This is only one side, though, and not the side I have pain on. Still, it looks like my styloid is a bit longer, even on this side, than it should be.
I had this scan performed back in January of this year at the office of a local Orthopedic Surgeon. Haven't shown it to anyone else. Had a bilateral MRI scan done on my TMJ joints last Fall. Unremarkable.
I'm worried that this may be Eagle's Syndrome.
My apologies if this quick picture with my phone is poor quality. You should be able to see what I'm referring to, though.

2023.06.06 23:48 Minute_Basket_2055 WC nurse case manager

Hello so I had a terrible experience today went to my orthopedic appt after waiting a month for this to be setup sat in a room for like 40mins waiting for the dr she seemed nice and answered my questions and her opinions of what I was dealing with anyway when I walk out of the room the nurse case manager is sitting in the waiting room about an hour later I had no knowledge of this at all or if they were going to show up she did not have authorization to just sit down without my consent. It made me feel pretty uncomfortable and her hovering over my shoulder with her phone ringing . Talking about other client appts . Anyway my dr handed her all of my paperwork I was suppose to be prescribed a medication I don’t even know what was stated in the report / or what medication Im suppose to be on. All she said was the dr might think you need a lumbar decompression worst case scenario she exaggerated saying that and then the office told her Also mentioned about needing authorization for an MRI and future medical appts that she had to handle which she’s slow doesn’t do much just makes excuses on why it takes so long to do things..
Overall I just felt uncomfortable and she was trying to have me sign release forms and permission for her to be at appts like right after I sat down how is this there approach? I have an attorney as well I don’t understand how that was even legal to do I’m aware of who they are because we spoke on the phone a couple times but they never had my permission to just show up randomly. Do they have to be around? I understand there the middle man for the adjuster but that’s what I have an attorney for.

2023.06.06 23:03 mjh8212 Summer Time

I have this thing where I wake up not able to bend my knee. It’s like the connective tissue is so tight if I move it’ll snap it’s usually on the soft tissue on the left side of my my knee. I am able to bend it but sometimes I wonder if it’s the day it’ll snap.
My knee hurts in the winter because it’s cold but the first signs of summer my knee gets swollen and painful. I have lots of braces some are a little snug some are too big. None fit right or feel right because I’m plus size and even though I have my husband measure it just don’t work. I’m also dealing with numbness and tingling in my right leg mostly from the knee down to the bottom of my foot. I have a nerve issue they haven’t figured out in my back.
I bought my first compression sleeve I got a 4 x just in case a 3x would be too small or roll down when I wear it. This sleeve has a strap to support my patella. It’s better than my bulky hinged ones. The compression helps with the swelling and the tendinitis I have.
I have a phone appointment with my primary care soon and I’m going to ask to go to a specialist for orthopedic at another clinic. I visited this clinic when I went to a Dr for my back and I love it. Drs were engaging and not dismissive. I was seeing a neurosurgeon and he asked about my knee and I told him they call it mild arthritis. He said something about bones rubbing together and joint damage and needed surgery when it gets to that point. I told him I have all that, all my PAC orthopedic has done is give me gel shots and send me to physical therapy. He says my knee has to last 20 years before any kind of surgery can be done. Not just a replacement any surgery. So that’s what I’m dealing with. Anyone else worse in the summer?

2023.06.06 22:39 SPACE_LEM0N Final batch of albums from my revamped Custom Linkin Park Collection now available! – 11 albums comprising the Ziggurats Era, and The Phoenix

In redoing my extensive custom Linkin Park collection, I've decided to post about them in groups of 9 to 11 albums, as I complete them. This is the last of seven such posts. This batch of albums consists of 11, and covers the Ziggurats Era (including Cognition, Platonic Love, and the remaining CoronaJams as ShinodaJams) and The Phoenix.
The albums in my custom collections are designed to have seamless transitions between all tracks on albums, and a consistent number of tracks per album (16 tracks in the case of Linkin Park, but sometimes 20, 24, or even 32 tracks when most of the tracks are really short and there are many of them). These albums are also intended to be as complete as possibly, excluding only tracks that are redundant, or have been deemed... unworthy. These albums are primarily intended for my spouse and I to listen to (hence the exclusion of a few tracks that we find hard to listen to), but I also love sharing them with others.
I will not be posting download links here – please message me privately if you would like access to the albums (which I will happily grant you).
See below for the tracklist.

2023.06.06 21:12 Sea-Airline8764 (Spoilers Main) Davos's role in TWoW

So I just finished reading the book series for the first time about a week ago and of course was left with many questions. One such question that I don't hear many people talk about is the role of our favorite Onion Knight and Hand of the One True King, Davos Seaworth.
So as many know at the end of ADwD Davos leaves White Harbor to go and find Rickon Stark in Skagos. Since Davos's final chapter is still in the first half of the book I think it is safe to assume that he has been traveling for the rest of the book allowing him to land on the shores of Skagos during his first chapter of Winds. Now, we know that there is a chance that Rickon may end up being a character of little importance due to the name of his direwolf being Shaggydog, a literary term used to describe something/someone with a lot of build up and time devoted to them but ultimately ends up being rather inconsequential. Therefore I subscribe to the theory that when Ser Seaworth finds Rickon he will be a feral child who has spent too long warged into his direwolf and cannot be reformed into a person of lordly stature. This will cause Davos to leave him there either out of fear of his own life or he will choose to let him live peacefully as a boy-wolf thing.
My thinking is that this cannot take up more than 3 or 4 chapters, so what is he to do for the rest of the book? Well I have a theory as to what the rest or a large chunk of his story could be. I believe that Davos will be picked up by Night's Watch ships sailing for Hardhome from Eastwatch. It's worth mentioning that when looking at the map Skagos is on the way to Harhome from Eastwatch. There it will be Davos who experiences the massacre of the Wildings and Night's Watchmen by the Others and White Walkers.
Jon Snow was planning to sail to Hardhome in his final chapter before he gets the Pink Letter and then get murdered. We know there are more ships waiting to be sent and that they are waiting for the arrival of Jon, assuming they have not yet gotten the news that Tormund will be leading the expedition to Hardhome instead. Anyway, I think that the ships will sail for Hardhome either out of loyalty to Jon and their mission or they receive a raven from Cotter Pyke saying that they desperately need those ships. One way or another the ships take up masts and sail. Around the same time Davos leaves Skagos and goes back towards the main continent. I'd imagine Davos is on a small smugglers boat with a skeleton crew or possibly just by himself. We know that there are lots of storms in this area which might cause his boat to capsize which a larger ship would have a better chance surviving the storms. Anyway, somehow or another Davos comes in contact with the Night's Watch ships and gets picked up. Most likely he could recognize them since he spent some time at Eastwatch at the end of ASoS and approach the ships. From there he would travel with them to Hardhome not expecting too much to happen before they turn back to the wall.
We know that there are definitely Others around due to the letter than Cotter wrote to Jon. Also we know that during the show (which I know isn't always the best thing to go off of but I think that it worth mentioning at least) that the Whites attacked and caused a massacre. So after a while the Others would attack similarly to how the do in the show except it's from Davos's POV instead of Jon's. Of course the Onion Knight escapes and makes it back the ships where they leave and sail for the wall. After this he would probably inform Jon, who at this point would probably be resurrected and then ride south to Stannis assuming he doesn't lose the battle of ice.
Obviously Jon would be the first pick to witness these events but I could also see something like this happening if Martin wanted to let someone other than Jon get some action since he would also be busy with the Boltons and recapturing Winterfell. I could also see a series of events where both Jon and Davos are present for the massacre. Basically the same stuff as above except Jon is resurrected and leaves for Hardhome after hearing Stannis won the Battle of Ice and has recaptured Winterfell and saved Arya (Jeyne Poole) and Mance Rayder.
TL:DR - Davos doesn't get Rickon and runs into Night's Watch ships heading to Hardhome on his way to the main land. He gets picked up and sees the wilding massacre at Hardhome.
I'm curious to hear other opinions on this and possibly other info suggesting this course of events. Let me know what you guys think and if you have anything to add. Thanks for reading. Have a good day!

2023.06.06 20:47 puff_puffash 34F 5'2 202lbs, white, Adult born premature with comorbidities. FL,Long post

Hi there, I am Ashley- I am 34 and I was born 1lb 6oz. I was 3 months early and stayed in the NICU for 3 months. I only really had fainting spells and seizures here and there into adulthood. I have ADHD. I have suffered a lot of physical trauma in the last few years from surgical error and an assault. prior to 2019 I had very few medical issues- and my decline has been progressive. I am now currently homebound, unable to drive anymore within the last year. I have lost most of the vision in my left eye. I found out I have a tumor on my brain behind my eye that is putting pressure on the back of my eye. I am living with chronic pain, chronic anxiety and I feel so isolated.i am so very grateful for the love and support from my family and close friends.. I am going to therapy weekly. I am trying to reach out and find support. I keep trying to tell my drs how I was born early and my neurological issues have really amplified since my nerve damage... but no one wants to listen. I guess I'd just like someone to listen.
I use a walker with a seat for stability and for a seat :)
First Seizure was in 3rd grade, Grand Mal. averaged a seizure every 2 years. my triggers are hearing or seeing anything medical surgical related. strobe lights.
I have Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disk Disorder, C-PTSD, I am anemic. I have neuropathy and now nerve damage from an SA. I am going through menopause. History of a TIA.

in 2019 after an exploratory surgery for suspected endometriosis- which was found and my right ovary was removed it was 3x the size...
January 2020- 6 months after the first surgery, I ended up needing an emergency total Hysterectomy because my uterus had prolapsed.
During the surgery, my body was placed in a position that tore my Acetabular Labrum.
I have not been placed on any sort of HRT and I am fully feeling the effects from menopause the first year was the worst IMO so far..
I didn't find out about the tear until months later when I hadn't been healing from the surgery.
I got an MRI arthrogram done and it showed the tear.
the day after that procedure I had an appointment with a new dr and I had a new patient consult...
I was SA'd and assaulted by the MA while he was injecting me with medication.
That has left me with C-PTSD, crippling anxiety, soft tissue damage, nerve damage and I feel this pain every single day.
In May of 2021 I had a TIA.
Was pushed back and forth from Orthopedic Dr to Surgeon and no one knew what to do with me...so they pushed me off to pain management.
I went to pain management and was pushed for opioids- I said no because I am on the medical cannabis. It was then suggested I get a lumbar epidural for the pain relief in my lower body.
The procedure was rushed and I was not allowed to lay on the table, I was not given any instruction or what to look for. I fell asleep when I got home, woke up with a migraine- I googled everything myself and I saw that that was a common side effect.
(There is waaaaaayy too much to explain but I was calling the Drs for weeks after telling them about my symptoms and I was bullshitted and lied to and finally-)
I ended up in the hospital from a wet tap for a week...got a blood patch done, that failed a couple days later. and since then-
All of my symptoms have progressed and my health has rapidly declined.
I started off with just vision issues in April/May, now I have lost most of the vision in my left eye.
I went to the hospital because I was losing my vision in September- did MRIS and they told me I have a meningioma on my brain behind my left eye. it's 2cm but it's showing mass effect.
I fell and fainted was November 2022- I had a concussion for weeks and went to the hospital for it, I still don't feel right.
I have been suffering from horrible vertigo and bedspins since.
When I was in the hospital twice so far this year, my imaging showed more mass effect and it shows that my spinal cord is being flattened.

I am just taking my medical cannabis (I lie in FL it is legal) I am prescribed but rarely ever need to take my Xanax 1mg I take my Prozac 80mg daily I am on Trileptal 300mg daily I take Atorvastatin since May 2021 40mg I take Iron and my biotin gummy.
I am in so much pain when I turn my neck, when I try to move....I shouldn't have to be stuck in bed.
I know I have so much going on, but this is my life....does anyone have any advice on where to turn now?
I just got approved for Medicaid and I have no idea who to turn to next. Because I don't know what to tackle first...
I appreciate whoever takes the time to read all this. I am very grateful.

2023.06.06 20:38 thatsinkguy My Experience so Far (Dr. Ramineni, DC)

Long post, important information.
Hey so I wanted to post here about my top surgery experience so far as I haven’t seen too many people talking about Dr. Praful Ramineni too much here, and felt it would be important to document for any friends pursuing top surgery with him.
First off, he was recommended to me via a friend who got top surgery with him, and another friend went with Dr. Cassie Nghiem (same plastic surgery office and surgical center). Both are excellent surgeons with fantastic results + reputations. Going into my consultation was very easy, but be ready to provide your insurance (if you have any), ID, payment method, and I highly recommend bringing your therapist’s referral on the day of consultation as it will make the process go to much faster.
The office is very nice and they were able to get me in and see me very quickly, a bit before my appointment time. It is important to ask him lots of questions as he will explain the procedure and what you qualify for, but doesn’t go too in depth about scar options, placement options, etc. My advice is to ask about those aesthetic options on the first appointment, even though I didn’t. I asked about common complications, pain management strategies (as I didn’t want to take opioids), and post operative care and treatment options. It is important to note any pre-existing medical conditions/neurological conditions as it may affect the surgery.
After that consult, because I was able to provide documentation from my psychiatrist regarding the surgery, he immediately gave me a date, May 30th.
Important thing to note is that my friend had previously struggled with insurance issues at his office so emailing their insurance team and getting in contact with your insurance to see how much it will be is very important. I will admit I am still in the blind about the true amount I owe. The surgical center bill was around $800 with my insurance (BCBS) and that is not counting the separate bill for Dr. Ramineni or the anesthesiologist, so do keep that in mind.
I got my pre-op instructions two weeks before my appointment and was also called by Glen Echo Surgical Center staff in order to verify the price I would be paying that day as well as my previous medical information that might be pertinent to the surgery. They were super helpful over the phone and the pre-op instructions were very clear. I received my post-op meds around the same time.
Day of, the worst part was the wait. Got there a bit early so it was partially my fault, but they were also running a little behind. I needed my ID, form of payment, insurance card, and proof of vaccination. Paperwork was easy, and eventually I was pulled in to get ready. The woman helping me through pre-op was named Barbara and she was extremely sweet and calmed my nerves a lot. Essentially the process is: pee in a cup, get disrobed and in a gown, take the meds the pre-op nurse gives you, and then get the heart monitor and IV hooked up. Easy peasy.
Like I said, my appointment was late and I was unsure as to why but too excited to really care. The anesthesiologist came in and asked me questions to ensure he would be able to provide correct dosages and explained to me that while I would be under, they would intubate me. After this, Dr. Ramineni came by, asked me a few questions, and at this point he asked “any special requests?” to which I didn’t understand what he meant, and said “no.”
This is the time where I should have showed him pictures of placements or physiques I liked, but due to this misunderstanding, didn’t. I’m not super upset about this, as I know he has great results, it’s just one of those miscommunication things that might impact potential overall satisfaction for the surgery. (please keep in mind I am still wearing the surgical binder and have been unable to see my results yet, though i’ve peaked under a little and am pretty satisfied with nipple placement and whatnot.)
Staff at Glen Echo were more than kind and helpful upon returning from my surgery and offered me drinks to help wake me up from anesthesia. I cracked jokes in my half-awake foggy brain and they all laughed along— spirits were high and it was an excellent experience. I was able to go home within that hour and recovery since has been very smooth.
One thing I am very grateful for is the swiftness at which Ramineni and his staff respond to emails and questions. I once emailed him concerns about my drainage outputs at 9:30pm (felt a bit bad about that) and he was still very quick to answer.
I will make an update post on Thursday, as that is when I see my chest for the first time and get the drains removed! If you have any questions, feel free to AMA! this is mainly for my Virginia/Maryland/DC friends seeking out top surgeons in the area!

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 76%. (I'm a bot)
A Florida judge blocked enforcement of the state's ban on transgender affirming care on Tuesday, calling the rule "An exercise in politics, not in good medicine."
U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle granted a preliminary injunction against Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, the Florida Board of Medicine, the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine and other state leaders, and will allow parents to access medical care for their transgender children as the ban's constitutionality is debated in court.
LGTBQ laws in Florida: A rundown of Florida bills causing 'massive panic' in transgender, LGBTQ communities.
'We're just people': As care ban becomes law, trans Floridians face excruciating decisions.
Banning gender-affirming care for trans youth has been a priority of Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration, which pushed the Board of Medicine to look into the care last year.
Hinkle states the defendant's arguments that gender-affirming care is harmful to minors, that it is banned in European countries and that Florida is joining "International consensus" in medical care are false.

2023.06.06 16:55 OphthoMDtn Turns out it’s piriformis syndrome. When in doubt, get an MRI.

I wanted to share my story to emphasize the importance of a correct diagnosis.
I (male in early thirties) suffered from sciatica for two years. It started after a leg day session, back pain and tingling in the buttock area, rarely radiating down my leg. I assumed it was a herniated disc. Besides the first flare up, it was mild (I did the big 3 daily and returned back to the gym, but nothing overhead, no bending nor twisting, always wearing a belt, back supported in most exercices such as chest against an incline bench).
What I find important is to evaluate the triggers for symptoms. For me, it was prolonged sitting. Actually, I had a second flare up 3 weeks ago. I had an important exam, spent almost two months sitting for prolonged periods of time. Two days before the exam, it flared up (that would be my luck!). I was bed ridden for almost two weeks (I passed the exam btw, thank you NSAIDs 😁).
Then, I decided I had enough. I can’t live like this. If surgery is necessary, so be it. So I saw a neurosurgeon. He found a negative lasegue sign and said it’s unlikely a herniated disc. He asked for an MRI. I did it and it only showed a mild protrusion at L4-L5 (no conflict with nerves). That’s when I started looking into piriformis. So I went to see an orthopedic surgeon, he did some manœuvres and said it was definitely piriformis! After a lot of stretching of the piriformis, I can say I’m 80% better and back to the gym and driving… but no prolonged sitting is advised. Btw I did everything in the private sector. It was expensive! But definitely worth it. I could not deal with the uncertainty.
So please get a proper diagnosis, don’t assume anything (get an MRI++). If it’s piriformis, it gets better with less sitting and more stretching.
Hope you all get better.

2023.06.06 16:32 soupyhands /r/climbing and the upcoming site wide blackout

Hey fellow climbers, thanks for taking an interest in this topic. Some may feel it's not exactly relevant to our community since it doesn't involve hanging by nubbins on the side of a greasy cliff in some far flung corner of the globe, but I feel differently and let me tell you why. I'm no John Long but I hope you will bear with my poor writing skills, however for the sake of mercy there will be a tl;dr at the bottom of this.
Like a lot of you, I have been on reddit a very long time now. Over 13 years now on this account. I joined back when there was really only one way to access reddit....what they now call old reddit. You can still read anything on reddit via old reddit, simply by taking the URL of whatever you are looking at and replacing www with old. This is still my primary way of spending my time on reddit, whether I am commenting, posting, or engaged in volunteer moderator duties. The reason I prefer to access the site this way is because the third party support for old reddit is unmatched. I use browser extensions like reddit enhancement suite, toolbox, imagus, imgur uploader, reddit check, reddit hover text, and tampermonkey in order to quickly make adjustments to things like our weekly new climber thread and semi regular discussion thread, as well as to prune spam that occasionally gets posted here. These extensions work through the reddit API. I have heard the concept of what an API is likened to a closet door. If you want to access what's in the closet, you must open the closet door to get in there. Many of you use apps like Apollo, reddit_is_fun, Reddit for Blind, and the official reddit app to access the site, and those also involve the reddit API to varying degrees. Many moderators rely on Apollo in particular as it's suite of mod tools is comparable to old reddit browser extensions. The official reddit app is woefully underpowered in this respect.
A few days ago I became aware of a number of users reacting very strongly to reddit's upcoming API changes. Reddit's CTO KeyserSosa discussed the changes here fleshing out the new vision of paid API access to certain third party clients, such as Apollo and reddit_is_fun. I'm no developer by any stretch of the imagination but I have been doing my best to learn how these changes will affect reddit in general, since everyone seems to be making a big deal out of it. There is an incredible amount of information regarding these changes out there right now. I keyed in on an excellent summary written by Toptomcat here of what the upcoming changes will do, and more recently followed off-site coverage of the planned protest.
What really got me fired up was this video from Snazzy Labs which is an interview with Christian Selig, the creator of the Apollo app. If you have some time to watch Christian really lays out how blindsided he has been by these changes, and how the narrative from the reddit side has suddenly shifted from supportive like a new Misty Mountain harness to incredibly aloof and tone deaf. Where once reddit felt like a community collaboration, with many people bringing their skills to bear on a project that benefits everyone, it is increasingly beginning to feel closed down and proprietary. Christian made a post in the apolloapp subreddit discussing exactly how monetized the API is going to become, and how untenable that is. He even admits that a free API might not have been permanently feasible but ultimately people want to browse reddit differently than by using the official app, and pricing the API should reflect the value these additional users bring to the site. In fact they appear to be taking an extreme stance with the pricing. I did some googling to find out how expensive some volume API calls are. Google API Gateway per call pricing would put the quoted 7b calls Apollo makes per month at around $10,500.00. Reddit wants to charge Apollo $1.7m for this service. It really feels like reddit is having a Martin Shkreli moment here.
So, the protest. On June 12th, and for as long as it takes, a massive list of some of the biggest subreddits will be taking part in a black out. Right now my understanding is that the aim is to demonstrate to reddit that they need to listen to their users and avoid price gouging the people they had previously supported. In order to accomplish this, /climbing will "shut down" (by that I mean go private) which will prevent any subscribed users from seeing content on this subreddit. This is really the only form of organized protest we as users have on reddit, and is a time honored tradition in a sense.
I understand there are still ongoing talks between high level reddit employees and 3rd party stake holders, so possibly things may change in the next few days. Whatever I hear that is relevant I will relate back to you. Feel free to ask questions in the comments here, I will do my best to answer or point you to where you can find an answer. If you want to argue, no problem but please be respectful. This was kind of stream of conciousness so I probably forgot something important, will edit this post as required.
tl;dr: reddit decided to charge for something they have given away for free for over 15 years, and the pricing is egregious and not in line with their actual costs for this service. This will cripple or destroy the ability for 3rd party app developers to help people experience reddit in a way that isnt the official way.

2023.06.06 16:23 Luminescentzelda Progesterone: to take or not to take?

Hey all! I had my full hyst on 5/15, taking the left ovary. I’ve been on a long road of PMDD, GI issues and paaaiiiin. I’m starting to turn a corner with recovery but am having some (what I think to be) hormonal reactions. My hair is falling out and thinning rapidly and mood swings are still there. One of my reasons for getting the hyst was a long history of downward pressure-like pain in my pelvis. It’s still there. I’ve always believed I have low estrogen but for whatever reason, over 10 years of trying, no doctor is willing to give me a hormone panel or whatever. I mentioned the moodiness to my surgeon at my 2 week follow up, and she prescribed progesterone. I looked up the effects of it and it’s all the symptoms I’m trying to avoid? Racing thoughts? Anxiety? No thank you.
I really don’t know what to do and my dr isn’t someone I can discuss these things with really. I get the impression that she sees me as a stress head who overstates things. I’m not, I’ve just been in this body my whole life and I’d like for it to change.
If anyone has firsthand experience with progesterone or knows more about it’s effects, I’d love to hear! ♥️

2023.06.06 15:54 BadHairDay-1 How to ask for this rx?

I am considering asking my Dr for this. The only other alternative is weight loss surgery. I've already seen 2 bariatric surgeons. I'd like to give this a try, though. It's worth a shot, imo, if it can help me.

2023.06.06 15:50 rudaw82 Pudendal nerve decompression surgery with Dr Bollens — 6 weeks post-op update

This is a follow-up to my previous post: https://www.reddit.com/hardflaccidresearch/comments/13t6bo7/pudendal_nerve_decompression_surgery_with_d?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1
Today I completed 6 weeks post-op. This is when surgeons say the scar tissue formation is at its peak and you can usually resume normal activity again. Unfortunately, all of my incisions are painful and also most of the abdominal muscles around, above and beneath them.
So I saw a surgeon on Sunday who suspected an incisional hernia at the umbilicus (where they had stuck in the camera for the surgery). This was confirmed by MRI (though it was only found when I sent the imaging to Docpanel - Thanks tilli!).
I now have to do another surgery to close it up with a mesh, scheduled for early July, followed by another 12-week recovery period.
So, yeah the risks for incisional hernia are real (anywhere from 10-30%). I’m sure that if I had been given those odds before surgery I would not have done it, so I want guys here to be aware of them before they make their decisions.

2023.06.06 14:41 SmellUpset1646 [30M] Wrist self diagnosis after no diagnosis from experts

30M, Netherlandsdrink: nosmoke: noweight: 83kgheight: 182cm7 weeks ago i had some trauma to the wrist, first I thought it was just a sprain but after some time passed i kept having pain and issues.I went to an orthopedic surgeon to get a good look at it.They made an x-ray video and an MRI but without any real diagnosis. He told me I might have some ganglion and that he found no signs of torn ligaments. I still experience a lot of pain at the top of my hand/wrist specifically when i put my hand in push-up position and can't use my right wrist fully.
Since I could get a proper diagnosis from the doctosurgeon I decided to do my own research. I bought my MRI images and studied the wrist. This took quite a while since I'm not a medical professional. But after two weeks I think that I found something.
I think that I have:
- Partially torn Scapholunate Ligament (Dorsal side) - Dorsal intercalated segment instability (DISI)
X-Ray top: https://imgur.com/GOf3ldc
X-Ray lateral: https://imgur.com/nb5vXCm

Is there someone with knowledge about wrists that could take a look at the MRI? Would really appreciate feedback

2023.06.06 12:37 boutell New US CHAdeMO chargers in May 2023

Here are all of the new US CHAdeMO (Leaf fast-charging) stations that rolled out in May 2023, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
There were 124 "new" CHAdeMOs added in May. To put it in perspective, there were 112 CHAdeMO chargers added in April. I think the pace of CHAdeMO rollout has stabilized, while the pace of CCS rollout is still increasing. This makes sense given that only Nissan still makes a CHAdeMO car.
Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the Alternative Fuels Data Center data.
We all know that CHAdeMO is a legacy format and will eventually go away, but clearly Nissan and their partners are continuing to support it for the time being. This shouldn't be surprising. After all, you can still buy a new Leaf.
If you'd like to know about new chargers along your routes right away, or reading these monthly reports is just frustrating in your state, I've set up a free service that provides email notifications only when new stations actually open. You can sign up at evpov.com. I built it to help EV owners like myself (especially my fellow Leaf owners). You can pick other plug types as well.
To streamline this post, multi-chargepoint locations are listed with the number of chargepoints first, so that's why the post is shorter than in previous months.

2023.06.06 12:32 boutell New US CCS chargers report for May 2023

Here are all of the new US CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in May 2023, according to the Department of Energy. These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:
  1. Tesla drivers who haven't bought the official CCS adapter yet. Certain older Teslas need additional work done to accept the adapter.
  2. Leaf owners like me, and some owners of older cars that also use CHAdeMO. If you drive a Leaf, or an older CHAdeMO car, see my matching post in leaf.
Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the Alternative Fuels Data Center data.
There were 222 CCS charge points added or refreshed in May 2023, which is up from 171 in April. For comparison, there were only 74 new CCS charge points in May 2022. Things are speeding up.
"What about CCS charging at Tesla superchargers?" Tesla is in the process of rolling out their "magic dock" for non-Tesla cars, but so far in very few locations. If they start doing this at scale and reporting it to the Alternative Fuels Data Center then it will be reflected here.
"What about Ford vehicles with NACS (Tesla) plugs?" They are not on sale yet. Current-generation Ford vehicles have CCS plugs. The next generation will have NACS (Tesla) plugs, but will also support CCS via an adapter.
If you'd like to know about new chargers along your routes right away, or just prefer not to check this list monthly when new openings are rare in your area, I've set up a free service that provides email notifications as soon as they open. You can sign up at evpov.com. Or not! I don't really have a business plan here, I built it to help EV owners like myself.
To streamline this post, multi-chargepoint locations are listed with the number of chargepoints first, so that's why the post is shorter than in previous months.

What is cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC)? Cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) is an advanced procedure for managing several types of cancer. The doctor may perform the procedure in patients with abdominal cancer which has spread to and limited to the inner lining of the abdomen called peritoneum. It offers several advantages to the patients. It helps in delivering the drug at the site of action and improves the overall survival rate. Less amount of drug is systemically absorbed leading to fewer systemic side effects.
How should I know that I need cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC)? Your doctor will recommend you undergo cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC if you are suffering from cancers of the abdominal cavity. Cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC is used for metastatic cancers of the colon, rectum, ovary, and stomach. It is also used for the treatment of peritoneal mesothelioma, pseudomyxoma peritonei, and other disorders. It is important to accurately diagnose the peritoneal malignancies.
What is the procedure for performing cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC)? The procedure of cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC is of two steps. In the first step, the doctors perform cytoreductive surgery. During this procedure, the GI surgeon removes the visible cancerous tissues and leaves the microscopic tissues. Apart from the tissues, the surgeon may also remove the organ or part of an organ if it is not possible to remove the cancerous tissues. The doctor may remove organs such as the gall bladder, section of the small or large intestine, and spleen.
The doctor then performs Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) to remove the microscopic cancerous cells. The surgeon heats the chemotherapeutic drug and delivers them directly into the abdominal cavity through the catheter. The heating temperature is around 42-43°C. The cancerous cells die at 40°C, while the normal healthy cells die at 44°C.
What are the advantages of cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC)? Cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC is an advanced procedure for several types of cancers.
