One of my player's characters took part in a devastating battle offscreen at the begin of the campaign. Now the party is pretty close to visit that place. I have a little text description of the battle from the POV of an NPC. Apart from the text and the "plot progression" that can be done on the battle field, I'd like to somehow build the trauma of the battle into a minor curse or similiar. My players are young, quite careless men, none of which has any experience with war or violence. Even though I do not want to go overboard with this and dip the campaign into a dark theming.
Any ideas apart from generic "1d4 psychic damage" or "next LR no restoration"? :)

I been a GC for about 3 years now in the Los Angeles are. I initially started out as a water damage restoration contractor so I signed up with networks that give water damage jobs for a percentage. I tried Thumbtack but that was a bust. Just wondering where else I can look to get leads.

TLDR; we have dodgy leaky plumbing & a blocked toilet pipe caused water to leak resulting in substantial water damage to our floors. Also into the cafe below us. Idk what to expect from the realestate & what we should do.

Recent issue occurred when my partner had a shower while the laundry was on, the downstairs neighbour came knocking on our door to alarm us of a leak that was dripping on his customers. (Cafe directly below us, we have the same landlord but separate realestate.)
Then my partner noticed our laundry floor drain had overflowed, our toilet was bubbling & then he walked into the kitchen which is on the other side of the wall of the laundry & water has leaked up through the floowall & damaged all of the floating floor. It’s warped rippling & it had water sealing out of gaps. It’s also on the carpet in the bedroom.
When we moved in we noticed minor water damage to some of the kitchen floor & skirting I’m certain it was acknowledged with photos in the real-estates condition report before we moved in.
I sent videos of all the current water damage to the realestate emergency contact the day it happened & explained the situation. We didn’t know if the leak was on going or where it was coming from. We also can’t turn off our water bc were in a unit.
They didn’t answer my calls & replied 4 hours later only saying ‘did your washing machine cause the leak?’ … nothing said about the water damage or when a plumber would come ect.
My partners best mate is a certified plumber & he had come over to take a look since the realestate took so long to respond. The washing machine is fully functional without leaks.
It turns out the pipes under our laundry & in the shops ceiling are not up to code, according to the plumber friend. We’ve seen photos it’s very dodgy looking. There’s an open waste pipe that hovers into another pipe, it’s not sealed so if there’s a block it just overflows.
Which the shop owner had asked to be repaired previously when we had a leak. It’s a health hazard especially above a cafe.
The realestate sent the plumber today, he filled up the bath & flooded the floor again, causing more damage. It leaked into the shop again..we got another knock on our door. He told the cafe owner ‘this stuff just happens.’ Gave him no heads up that he was testing the pipes.
Our bedroom carpet has now been wet for 2 days we’re trying to dry it but the weathers cold.
He says there’s a waste blockage, toilet paper n shit. he used a camera. He’s coming back tomorrow to screw the toilet back in..
I will need to contact our agent about the floor damage through out the apartment.
Do I request a detailed report from the plumber?
Do i get a second report done from our friend?
What happens in this situation regarding the floor?? It looks like the floor needs to be replaced.. which sounds like a huge expensive job. This whole thing is stressful already. I don’t wanna deal with potential mold, I have enough health issues.

My girlfriends brother was at a bon fire where most people were in their early 20s. They started doing donuts and when we tried to do one he hit a truck. So the people at this party proceed to beat him up. Then when he tries to leave in his car they run him off the road. Open his car door they piss in his car and on him and beat him up more. They also at the same time completely finish wrecking his car. Smashing the windshield and windows and doing mor damage to the body. Police was involved. But he states that they didn’t do anything when he told them he wanted to press charges. What should he do now? This happened in Salem WI. Not known if the person who’s house this happened was involved.

There's a TLDR at the bottom, if needed. I'm 27F with a family history of severe bruxism and been a severe grinder my entire life. I've worn a NTI since I was 14 and religiously maintain my teeth. I've been told many many times I am the worst case dentists have ever seen for being the age I am. All bottom molars have been replaced with gold crowns, as I've broken the natural teeth one by one even with the dental guard. My mother is the same, as is my grandmother. We also all struggle with joint dislocation/instability of other joints (elbows, knees and hips). Often times I skip meals because my teeth aren't meeting and I can't chew. I have all general symptoms of TMD except trigeminal nerve pain (thank god), or sleep apnea. I have a deep bite, but it's not severe. My side profile appears normal.
I've seen 3 dentists, and every single one recommends wearing the occlusal splint for 3 months then doing "biorejuvination" to restore the mouth. I genuinely don't understand how this will fix the joint and prevent further damage, as they all insist this is the solution. When I ask questions I am always met with a condescending comment about how if I don't want to pay for it it's because my priorities are wrong. My grandmother had it done and she paid $55,000 out of pocket to have it done and goes in every 8 weeks to fix chips, that doesn't sound like a solved problem to me. When I ask about a surgery referral they stonewall me and steer the conversation back to selling me restorations. I went to another TMD specialist this week and got the same sales pitch.
I know I need to consult a surgeon, but I can't even get a straight answer on what is considered a surgical case, let alone a referral. I'm unable to get an appointment at a surgeons office without a referral and I understand why, but if they took one look at my mouth they'd see I'm far past the "have you tried a mouthguard?" diagnosis.
TLDR: Ultimately my question is, what procedures are being done to correct bites in cases of severe bruxism? I'm not looking for a dx on here, just a direction to point my research so I can learn what direction to point my search for answers.

I have a 1TB LaCie HDD which I currently use for Time Machine but it is inconvenient since I constantly forget and have to plug the drive into my Mac which is inconvenient. Plus, my new MBP has 1TB of storage, meaning my LaCie drive likely isn't enough. What is a good solution to a drive I could connect to my Wi-Fi for seamless automatic backups and restores? I am looking to spend no more than $100.

On Thursday, two of the units on my floor caught fire. There was substantial damage in our hallway. The units on my floor, as well as the 2 floors above have significant smoke damage. The 5 floors below have water damage. All of the tenants in our tower were given a few minutes to grab some basic things and were sent out. My personal belongings were not destroyed from the fire, but the smell has purmiated into everything. I have washed clothes on multiple cycles and it still smells like a skunk.
I filed claims with my renters insurance but the damage isn't visible. My deductible is 500.00, which is less than the cost of damages. I'd like to assess what I can salvage, like plates, etc. I also have some valuable and sentimental things I'd like to grab. But, the fire marshal has padlocked the units and the building.
The apartment's representatives cut us a 500.00 check, sent us the address to a shelter and told us that we wouldn't be able to stay at the complex until they restore the properties. This will take months. My lease ends in August. There are fees for breaking the lease. I am not going to wait around, crashing on my coworkers couches.
I have a lot of questions, this has been a complete shock. Can I be released from the lease? And if I break the lease, since the units are barricaded off, do I forfeit my property in the unit? How do I get access to my unit after breaking the lease? I was unable to take any pictures of the damage because I was given minutes to grab and go.

Had a power outage this morning in the entire neighborhood. Everything I have is on backup power, so no equipment gets turned off. Not tech savvy will try to explain.
It lost the public ip address and assigned a local ip address to my router with the IPPassthrough manual MAC address set.
My router thinks that it has a valid ip. The ip does not update from a local to public ip with ip pass through enabled when public ip is restored.
Ip passthrough is enabled so my voip phones don’t get a double nat issue and disconnect which has happened.
I’m thinking dhcp is enabled and assigning non public ip, disable that, not even the ip pass through will be assign the public ip when the manual Mac set with dhcp disabled.
My specific questions to Att first line support 30 minute call. Asked for an engineer. If the gateway loses public ip address does it assign a local ip address to the ip passthrough manual set Mac device? This gets passed to the manager with a call back.
Manager does and goes through everything. 1 hour call. Can’t answer my last question.
Seriously thinking about switching back to my simple cable modem. It gives me only an public ip address with no gateway/ router functions. I even asked the manager another question does Att provide a fiber modem (a non gateway) without any router, gateway dhcp, Wi-Fi functions. And her response is that the 320- functions the same modem gateway router. Am I not asking right? Does Att have a simple fiber modem?

1. Gather financial and critical personal, household and medical information.
2. Consider saving money in an emergency savings account that could be used in any crisis. Keep a small amount of cash at home in a safe place. It is important to have small bills on hand because ATMs and credit cards may not work during a disaster when you need to purchase necessary supplies, fuel or food.
3. Obtain property (homeowners or renters), health and life insurance if you do not have them. Not all insurance policies are the same. Review your policy to make sure the amount and types of coverage you have meets the requirements for all possible hazards. Homeowners insurance does not typically cover flooding, so you may need to purchase flood insurance from the National Flood Insurance Program.
