Much like in several of the previous conflicts in Lombardy, Cremona was bitterly contested by the French and Imperial armies, having been the victim of a lengthy Imperial siege in 1515 and a much shorter French siege in 1516. The results were devastating, and the scars of the sieges were still readily apparent when Francesco Maria arrived in the city in late 1517.
Though he meant to spend the beginning of 1518 helping to heal these scars, God had other plans. The treason of the Gonzaga of Mantua revealed at the Trial of Cesena, and the following declaration of war by Pope Leo X turned Francesco Maria’s attentions from peace to war. By March, he was already in the field.
Before long, the campaign year settled into a siege. Sieges are long, plodding affairs, leaving Francesco Maria with an abundance of downtime between directing engineers and commenting on maps of proposed trenches. Throughout the year, a flurry of letters flew between his camp and Cremona, managing and directing the repair of his new city from afar. In time, he hopes that these repairs and reforms will build Cremona into the wealthiest of his many possessions.
With the creation of this new position, Francesco Maria has appointed a loyal administrator from La Marche as Provost, while filling the assessor positions with local notables (a mix of local nobles and upwardly-mobile merchants). To ensure that they have the proper facilities available to them to complete their tasks, he has designated Palazzo Cittanova as their permanent headquarters.

The successive sieges of Cremona caused extensive damage to the navili. The besiegers--first Austrians, then French--regularly diverted the navili to supply fresh water to their siege camps and deny it to the city. Within the city proper, collapsed buildings and sunken ships had clogged narrower portions of the navili, while other sections had been intentionally dammed off to build reservoirs for firefighting or drinking. While the worst of the damage had been repaired since the war ended, the navili were still operating well below their full capacity, causing serious economic damage to the city and its inhabitants.
Addressing this persisting damage is the first task facing the new Prevost--one that is likely to earn near-universal support in Cremona.

To this end, France has transferred its best and brightest military engineers (many of whom have already had experience upgrading the walls of other Lombard cities, such as Novara, Asti, Milan, Pavia, Lodi, Bergamo, and Crema), and agreed to fund the upgrades (M: we’re waiting to see what the cost is to work this out). The planned upgrades will introduce modern defensive innovations to the walls, such as reinforcing bastions to allow for enfilade fire and earthen ditches and glacis to protect the base of the walls from cannon fire. Furthermore, the Castello di Santa Croce, the castle and ducal residence on the western edge of Cremona, will be upgraded to bring it in line with modern defensive works (M: I’m not sure how much of the historic upgrades occurred--I’m mostly just looking to make it so that the OTL 1503 fortifications and 1520 fortifications are built with these upgrades). In order to help restore the agricultural wealth of Cremona--the lifeblood of the province--Francesco Maria has authorized the disbursal of additional funds to the Castellan-Provosts, who will distribute these funds to replenish livestock herds and seed stores throughout the County.
Settling Property Disputes
While many farmers return to their fields after a war, some do not--some because they found a new life elsewhere, and others because they died. Ownership disputes over the lands they leave behind are common. Neighbors expand their farms into the abandoned lands while sons, cousins, uncles, brothers-in-law, and people pretending to be those things lay claim to the land of families who died. Sometimes, these competing claims turn violent.
Sifting through these claims and keeping the peace is the duty of the Castellan-Provosts. To help ensure that these legal claims are dealt with quickly and efficiently, Francesco Maria has transferred funds to the Castellan-Provosts to hire additional administrative and legal personnel.

These provinces currently have almost no holdings in them (not counting the city, there are only three holdings between them), so I’m hoping to attract estates to build them out a bit. Not sure what estates are around these parts, but I imagine it’d be stuff like Lombard/Milanese/French merchants/clergy/nobility. Merchant/noble families in the county who make considerable investments will be favored when it comes time for the count to make political appointments in the future (most notably, the assessors of the Provost of the Merchants of Cremona and the Castellan-Provosts of the Castellan-Provostships of the county’s Castellany-Provostships).

I'm fully enjoying Season 20 due to the World All-Stars premise (winners and finalists). Kudos to Top Chef in pulling this season together. Thus, it's surprising the number of comments describing this season as boring. I can imagine some potential reasons for this:

- Include the winner from last season? IMO, Season 20 includes the best contestants from across the world. Absolutely yes, a US TC winner needs to compete in this format. Do past winners see more downside if he/she doesn't win or, at a minimum, reach the finals? Would I rather see a more statistically dominate TC US winner compete instead of Buddha? - Buddha is too dominant? A lot of folks suggest the winner as fait accompli. Knowing nothing about the non-US contestants, I never adopted this view. Yes it's clear Buddha is the favorite in the finale. However, what matters is the final meal, not the cumulative wins throughout the season. Look at the #8 seed Miami Heat playing in the NBA finals. Yes, they probably won't win but that was true against the Bucks, Knicks (maybe), and Celtics.
- However, I think the biggest reason is the international component itself.
- In previous seasons, the chefs were less of a mystery. You had someone that knew Southern flavors and cooking, someone that was farm to table, molecular gastronomy, etc. If not the food style, we could identify with their city (New Orleans, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, etc). That's not the case with the international competition. France gets an asterisk as ~90%+? of the contestants mention their background in French techniques at some point during the season.
- It made it more difficult to identify who you liked. I feel an important component of dislike is the contrast to a contestant one likes. Thus, boring: I don't really care who wins and for some reason I can't put a finger on, I prefer that contestant X does not win.
- Keeping the ~60 minute episode duration exacerbated the sub points above due to this new "confusion".

This first and most difficult because I forgot to screenshot on another phone and text the image to this one is a sky blue house numbered 12752 with a large paned window and a brick leading path with brick work near the entrance. The second is a parking lot near solar canopy's and ticky tacky houses. Key not the light fixtures are square not circular and there are notable eucalyptus. I suspect that the residence is near the house but here are images of the parking lot. If you can help me find these today you are god. 2023.06.03 20:40 throwstuff165 The Case(on) for Wallace: Some musings on the potential fit of one of our theoretical PG options in the Draft.
Apologies for the pun in the title, but the fruit was hanging too low to pass up. And apologies as well to the folks here that think the word “trade” is an affront to their Spurs fandom, but until the draft gets here in a few more weeks, there’s going to continue to be discussion around making a move for another first-round pick, presumably to address the long-term-PG-shaped hole in the roster right now.
Based on a few polls that have popped up on this sub lately, it seems like most people here (including u/paxusromanus811, whose opinions as a draft evaluator and Spurs fan are some that I greatly respect) like Anthony Black the best of our presumed options, but everyone seems to recognize that it might be hard to find a trade partner in his projected range. Amen Thompson is a fun pipe dream, but I’m incredibly wary of the fact that he and his twin were overagers in the mess that is OTE, and I don’t know if I’m a believer in his shot ever being fixed, either. Then you’ve got Kobe Bufkin, who’s been a bit of a late riser as a jack-of-all-trades sophomore but isn’t quite as polished as a defender or playmaker.
I like all three of those guys quite a bit, and if the Spurs end up with any of them on the 22nd I’ll be very pleased. But I wanted to take a little time to focus on Cason Wallace, because I think if you told me we had our pick between any of the guard prospects in the first round outside of Scoot, I’d want him. That’s not to say I’d bet on him being the “best” player of the four in 10 years (though I don’t think that’s impossible), but I think he fits in the best with what the San Antonio identity is going to be now and in the future. I think the advantages that the other guys have over him are of less consequence to the Spurs than vice versa.
OVERVIEW
The Spurs have a lot of player development to focus on this year. Wemby is going to command a lot of usage for obvious reasons. Sochan’s second season is going to be big as far as his potential progression as a shooter and playmaker while also likely getting some run as an actual point forward / lead ball handler. Branham probably isn’t suited to be a PG, and running him in that position too much carries a risk of hampering his growth as the smooth scoring SG he’s meant to be.
Enter Cason Wallace, who could bring some really valuable versatility. He spent the first half of the season with Kentucky as a movement C&S guy, then took over as the starting PG in a very ball-dominant role after Sahvir Wheeler went down. He had success in both roles, and combined with his overall high level of understanding of the game, he’d be the perfect complement for the roster now and in the future - he can be a high-level kickout option and floor spacer for possessions where we want Victor or Jeremy or Vassell to mostly run the show, but he can also competently run the offense as the lead at any given time as well.
SHOOTING
Wallace shot 34.6% from 3-point range this season, which is good but not amazing. That number needs a little context, though. In the fifteen games before January 10, he shot 41.9% from 3 on 4.9 attempts/game. I’m using that as the boundary point because he started to suffer back spasms on that date and pretty much just played through them for the rest of the season, where he shot 24.5% on 3.3 attempts/game. Back injuries are, generally speaking, the toughest injuries to shoot through - those muscles are involved in so much of your body movement that it’s basically impossible to maintain the same mechanics, and Wallace’s form is visibly more rigid and square in the second half of the season. His natural form is very smooth and free-flowing, but there were some games post-spasms that he was barely even getting off the ground. That Jan 10 date is also, interestingly, when he took over lead guard responsibilities, so as you can see from his 3PA/game, his catch-and-shoot opportunities went way down. Still, his 3P% ended within 1% of Bufkin’s for the full season on higher volume, so I’m comfortable calling him the most projectable spot-up shooter of the popular Spurs options.
Really, the bottom line here is that we already have Sochan, who may never be much of a shooter, and Wemby, whose shot I think will develop but isn’t guaranteed to turn into something that other teams have to gameplan for in a significant way. Without Chip Engelland still in the fold, I’d be a little concerned about adding another guy to our long-term core that needs a lot of work in that area.
Other notes:
Kentucky’s adjusted offensive rating with Wheeler as the starting point guard was 109.3. After Wallace took over, that number jumped to 115.7 - top 20 in the country over that period - in what was easily the tougher half of their schedule. Much has been made about concerns over whether Wallace can truly be a lead guard, but the kid can run an offense. He put up more AST/game than Black and Bufkin on a significantly better AST/TOV ratio (over 2 to 1). Here’s the stat I don’t think is getting nearly enough attention, though: of the 86 two-pointers Wallace made this year, only 9 were assisted (9.5%). By comparison, 28.9% of Black’s and 25.4% of Bufkin’s were assisted. Marks under 10% for that stat are generally very, very good indicators that we’re looking at a skilled primary creator. It’s also probably worth noting that Black’s numbers at the rim were considerably worse than Wallace’s despite his size and the fact that he had twice as many dunks.
Other notes:
This is Wallace’s calling card as far as being the skill that gives him such a high floor as a pick, and yet I still think it’s being a little underrated comparatively. Black has 3 inches of height and 15lbs on him, and is seen as a guy who’ll be able to comfortably defend 1-3 and maybe even 4s at the next level. But Wallace actually has the longer wingspan of the two (6’85” vs 6’75”) and I think he’s the more polished defender as far as fundamentals and disruptiveness. He’s deceptively strong, too. I think he’s equally capable of guarding up to 3s as well and even some small ball 4s in the vein of Andrew Wiggins or our very own Keldon Johnson - those sorts of lineups are still steadily gaining popularity. The fact that Black averaged effectively the same amount of blocks as Wallace and Bufkin despite his advantages in height and bounce is either a slightly worrying sign for Black or a big credit to the other two. Either way, the guy we’re theoretically drafting here gets to play alongside Sochan and Wemby, so even if Black does have a slight switchability advantage, I’m not convinced it’ll be all that impactful in the long run. Give me that small extra bit of refinement any day.
CONCLUSION
Wallace has some detractors for being a bit of a “safe” guard that doesn’t get too creative with his passing and playmaking, or at least he hasn’t yet. And look, some of the things Anthony Black pulls off make my jaw drop the same as everyone else’s does. But we’re Spurs fans - we saw the Beautiful Game in real time. For the most part, that wasn’t a system that relied on crazy passes but on the right passes, and on guys making smart movements to be in the right place at the right time. Even as one of the worst teams in the league last year, the Spurs were still top 3 in the NBA in assists/game and bottom 5 in TOs/game - this isn’t a system that is in desperate need of a guard to shake things up.
Wallace excels at those things, and he just comes off as a Spurs-y player in a lot of other ways too. He hustles like a madman - you couldn’t watch a Kentucky game without seeing him dive on the floor for a loose ball and running like hell to get back in transition - and is more than willing to play whatever role he has to to help his team win. And while he certainly gets fired up after some big plays, he’s a guy that mostly just goes about his business on the court. I can’t remember a time where I saw him do anything that could possibly be construed as taunting.
The Kentucky Guard Effect is something that can’t be ignored at this point, either. He isn’t the same style of player as a Tyrese Maxey or SGA, but when you go back and look at the scouting reports for those guys compared to Wallace’s, you see a lot of similarities - questions over whether they can really be a lead guard or if they have talents outside of the singular role they played as Wildcats. I’m not saying Wallace can be the next SGA, but I think a Maxey-like breakout is well within the realm of possibility. He accelerates well on drives, and even though he struggled to create significant separation at times, he’s such a good finisher that all he needs is a half step - he hardly ever got blocked. But Calipari’s system never allowed him to play both roles at once, and if the Spurs are truly going to commit to this positionless basketball ideology (which they’ll have the personnel to do), that flexibility could fit in perfectly. Based on a few polls that have popped up on this sub lately, it seems like most people here (including u/paxusromanus811, whose opinions as a draft evaluator and Spurs fan are some that I greatly respect) like Anthony Black the best of our presumed options, but everyone seems to recognize that it might be hard to find a trade partner in his projected range. Amen Thompson is a fun pipe dream, but I’m incredibly wary of the fact that he and his twin were overagers in the mess that is OTE, and I don’t know if I’m a believer in his shot ever being fixed, either. Then you’ve got Kobe Bufkin, who’s been a bit of a late riser as a jack-of-all-trades sophomore but isn’t quite as polished as a defender or playmaker.
I like all three of those guys quite a bit, and if the Spurs end up with any of them on the 22nd I’ll be very pleased. But I wanted to take a little time to focus on Cason Wallace, because I think if you told me we had our pick between any of the guard prospects in the first round outside of Scoot, I’d want him. That’s not to say I’d bet on him being the “best” player of the four in 10 years (though I don’t think that’s impossible), but I think he fits in the best with what the San Antonio identity is going to be now and in the future. I think the advantages that the other guys have over him are of less consequence to the Spurs than vice versa.
OVERVIEW
The Spurs have a lot of player development to focus on this year. Wemby is going to command a lot of usage for obvious reasons. Sochan’s second season is going to be big as far as his potential progression as a shooter and playmaker while also likely getting some run as an actual point forward / lead ball handler. Branham probably isn’t suited to be a PG, and running him in that position too much carries a risk of hampering his growth as the smooth scoring SG he’s meant to be.
Enter Cason Wallace, who could bring some really valuable versatility. He spent the first half of the season with Kentucky as a movement C&S guy, then took over as the starting PG in a very ball-dominant role after Sahvir Wheeler went down. He had success in both roles, and combined with his overall high level of understanding of the game, he’d be the perfect complement for the roster now and in the future - he can be a high-level kickout option and floor spacer for possessions where we want Victor or Jeremy or Vassell to mostly run the show, but he can also competently run the offense as the lead at any given time as well.
SHOOTING
Wallace shot 34.6% from 3-point range this season, which is good but not amazing. That number needs a little context, though. In the fifteen games before January 10, he shot 41.9% from 3 on 4.9 attempts/game. I’m using that as the boundary point because he started to suffer back spasms on that date and pretty much just played through them for the rest of the season, where he shot 24.5% on 3.3 attempts/game. Back injuries are, generally speaking, the toughest injuries to shoot through - those muscles are involved in so much of your body movement that it’s basically impossible to maintain the same mechanics, and Wallace’s form is visibly more rigid and square in the second half of the season. His natural form is very smooth and free-flowing, but there were some games post-spasms that he was barely even getting off the ground. That Jan 10 date is also, interestingly, when he took over lead guard responsibilities, so as you can see from his 3PA/game, his catch-and-shoot opportunities went way down. Still, his 3P% ended within 1% of Bufkin’s for the full season on higher volume, so I’m comfortable calling him the most projectable spot-up shooter of the popular Spurs options.
Really, the bottom line here is that we already have Sochan, who may never be much of a shooter, and Wemby, whose shot I think will develop but isn’t guaranteed to turn into something that other teams have to gameplan for in a significant way. Without Chip Engelland still in the fold, I’d be a little concerned about adding another guy to our long-term core that needs a lot of work in that area.
Other notes:
- Shot 48.4% on corner 3s on the season on good volume, one of the most important shots in basketball and one that we know Pop appreciates. Bufkin shot 36.8%, Black 31.8%. NBA average is about 35%, and success from that spot in college has generally carried over well to the next level even for guys that have otherwise struggled adapting to NBA 3s.
- Shot 41% on transition 3s on the season. Can very easily envision Sochan or Wemby getting a defensive board, pushing the ball upcourt, and finding Wallace on the kickout when the defense is forced to collapse, because those guys will definitely run transition a lot in future years.
- Small sample size because it’s not a huge part of the Calipari system, but Wallace shot 9/17 on attempts where he relocated and immediately received a return pass after making one (i.e. entry passes to bigs, drive-and-kicks, as the inbounder), which is a window into how smart and comfortable he is in getting open as a movement shooter.
- This is not meant as a disparagement, because I don’t think the shot is unfixable, but Black shot 21% on unguarded catch-and-shoot attempts this year. That sounds bad because it is bad - there’s a big gulf between the two right now and even if Black improves I have a hard time seeing him getting to Wallace’s level.
Kentucky’s adjusted offensive rating with Wheeler as the starting point guard was 109.3. After Wallace took over, that number jumped to 115.7 - top 20 in the country over that period - in what was easily the tougher half of their schedule. Much has been made about concerns over whether Wallace can truly be a lead guard, but the kid can run an offense. He put up more AST/game than Black and Bufkin on a significantly better AST/TOV ratio (over 2 to 1). Here’s the stat I don’t think is getting nearly enough attention, though: of the 86 two-pointers Wallace made this year, only 9 were assisted (9.5%). By comparison, 28.9% of Black’s and 25.4% of Bufkin’s were assisted. Marks under 10% for that stat are generally very, very good indicators that we’re looking at a skilled primary creator. It’s also probably worth noting that Black’s numbers at the rim were considerably worse than Wallace’s despite his size and the fact that he had twice as many dunks.
Other notes:
- Wallace didn’t draw a lot of shooting fouls this year, which is something he definitely needs to improve. When he did, though? He converted the and-1 53.6% of the time. That’s an absurd number - the highest in college in at least the last three years by far. For reference, Black and Wallace both drew 15 total and-1s, but Black drew a total of 50 more shooting fouls to do it (Black’s rate of drawing free throws in general is equally absurd). And Bufkin, considered an elite finisher, only completed them at a 31.3% rate.
- Close to 50% of Black’s assists came at the rim, but he and Wallace put up roughly the same rate there per 40 minutes and Wallace’s rate was better in almost every other zone on the floor.
- Great PnR operator with room to grow. Makes deceptive passes in the pocket and around big men, and he’s great at finding open teammates on the shake action, which I imagine is a look we could see Devin get a lot due to the attention Victor is going to command.
This is Wallace’s calling card as far as being the skill that gives him such a high floor as a pick, and yet I still think it’s being a little underrated comparatively. Black has 3 inches of height and 15lbs on him, and is seen as a guy who’ll be able to comfortably defend 1-3 and maybe even 4s at the next level. But Wallace actually has the longer wingspan of the two (6’85” vs 6’75”) and I think he’s the more polished defender as far as fundamentals and disruptiveness. He’s deceptively strong, too. I think he’s equally capable of guarding up to 3s as well and even some small ball 4s in the vein of Andrew Wiggins or our very own Keldon Johnson - those sorts of lineups are still steadily gaining popularity. The fact that Black averaged effectively the same amount of blocks as Wallace and Bufkin despite his advantages in height and bounce is either a slightly worrying sign for Black or a big credit to the other two. Either way, the guy we’re theoretically drafting here gets to play alongside Sochan and Wemby, so even if Black does have a slight switchability advantage, I’m not convinced it’ll be all that impactful in the long run. Give me that small extra bit of refinement any day.
CONCLUSION
Wallace has some detractors for being a bit of a “safe” guard that doesn’t get too creative with his passing and playmaking, or at least he hasn’t yet. And look, some of the things Anthony Black pulls off make my jaw drop the same as everyone else’s does. But we’re Spurs fans - we saw the Beautiful Game in real time. For the most part, that wasn’t a system that relied on crazy passes but on the right passes, and on guys making smart movements to be in the right place at the right time. Even as one of the worst teams in the league last year, the Spurs were still top 3 in the NBA in assists/game and bottom 5 in TOs/game - this isn’t a system that is in desperate need of a guard to shake things up.
Wallace excels at those things, and he just comes off as a Spurs-y player in a lot of other ways too. He hustles like a madman - you couldn’t watch a Kentucky game without seeing him dive on the floor for a loose ball and running like hell to get back in transition - and is more than willing to play whatever role he has to to help his team win. And while he certainly gets fired up after some big plays, he’s a guy that mostly just goes about his business on the court. I can’t remember a time where I saw him do anything that could possibly be construed as taunting.
The Kentucky Guard Effect is something that can’t be ignored at this point, either. He isn’t the same style of player as a Tyrese Maxey or SGA, but when you go back and look at the scouting reports for those guys compared to Wallace’s, you see a lot of similarities - questions over whether they can really be a lead guard or if they have talents outside of the singular role they played as Wildcats. I’m not saying Wallace can be the next SGA, but I think a Maxey-like breakout is well within the realm of possibility. I (38M) have 3 kids (6M, 13M, 15F) with my narc ex (37F). I posted a little bit about this here previously. We've been divorced since 2020, and then she moved to another state, taking the kids with her. I get them on their breaks from school.
Earlier this year, I got a phone call saying that 15F doesn't want to see me anymore, and that the law says she's old enough to make the decision to just stay with her mom if she wants to. I took her word for it, and didn't bother verifying it, because it sounded reasonable... although the fishy thing is that 15F and I had always been extremely close. I just assumed that Ex was telling her lies about me, and that she'd eventually figure it out. I'd rather not make waves with this crazy lady, so I let it be.
Specifically, the lies that she tells include that I was abusive toward her, and that I raped her. This is absolutely not true, and I've since found out that she's told people the exact same story about other guys, including the guy she was with immediately before me, as well as her affair partner that she cheated on me with. I guess that's just part of her discard phase, and an attempt to discredit those that she's wronged. I've actually lost some pretty close friends because of this, and I know that she's been doing this because one of our mutual friends told me, "hey, I got this weird text from your ex..." and proceeded to show me the whole thing. I was prepared to have lies spread about me, so losing a few close friends was something that I had already mentally gotten myself ready for, and while it's certainly heartbreaking, life goes on. It wasn't a surprise.
So I knew I wouldn't be getting 15F this summer. A few weeks ago I got a text from Ex saying that I wouldn't be getting 13M until the end of June, as he had failed some of his classes and was required to take summer school classes to make up for it. That wasn't a big surprise, he's always struggled in school. However, earlier this afternoon, I got his report card in the mail. While it IS true that he failed the subjects she said he failed, there's also a note on there that says he will still advance to the next grade and isn't required to take summer classes. In addition, the note also says that all summer classes this year are going to be online, which means he can do them from here. More lies.
I posted a few weeks ago about how she's been trying to get access to my accounts for some reason.
One last thing that's fishy about all this... usually when I get the kids, we meet up in the city where my mom lives, which is halfway between where I live and where Ex lives with the kids. Ex said that this summer, when I get 13M at the end of June, they'll be bringing him all the way to my city which is a 5 hour drive for them, one way. There's no way they're bringing him all the way here just to save me a trip. It can't be out of the kindness of her heart (there's a laugh). She's up to something, and whatever it is, it can't be good.
I haven't confronted her about any of this. Alienating my oldest, trying to access my accounts, lying about 13M's summer school, or trying to bring him out here personally. What could be going on here? What should I do here? What the hell is she thinking? This is causing me a huge amount of stress and I don't know whether I should confront her, get a lawyer (which would be a hassle because I'm broke ass broke), or let it play out and see what happens. Any thoughts? This is really eating me up.

Coming in at 83rd on the list is the team representing the least populous state, Wyoming. While the Cowboys are mostly known by the average fan as being the school Josh Allen played at, they have a fairly rich history of success, and have produced many great coaches. College Football Hall of Famers Bowden Wyatt, Bob Devaney, Pat Dye, and Dennis Erickson all ran the show at Wyoming before moving onto bigger football powerhouses. Former Texas coach Fred Akers and Purdue coach Joe Tiller as well, and the current head man is Craig Bohl, who started the North Dakota State dynasty and won 3 national titles there.
Armed with a new coaching staff led by Vic Koenning, Wyoming’s defensive coordinator for one of the better 3 year stretches in Cowboy football history, Wyoming was full of confidence for the turn of the century. After predictably losing games to Auburn and Texas A&M, Wyoming rebounded to beat Central Michigan 31-10, and had a 21-7 point lead over Nevada, looking for their second straight win. The season ended there, and everyone went home happy. Kidding, Nevada scored 21 straight points to pull off the win in Laramie, and Wyoming didn’t win a game for the rest of the year. The closest loss was by just 12 points, and shutouts included 0-34 to San Diego State and 0-34 to Utah. But the Cowboys were certainly not without talent! Tucked away as the backup QB was Casey Bramlet, who would throw for 3000+ yards in each of the next 3 seasons and is an all-time great Wyoming QB. The receiver room was also loaded, with future NFL WR Malcolm Floyd (5500 receiving yards at the next level), and future CFL veteran WR brothers Brett and Brock Ralph. Brock won 2 Grey Cups, and Brett was a 4 year starter for the Calgary Stampeders.
5. 1999 (7-4 overall, 4-3 Mountain West)
Get ready for a history lesson, because each season in the top 5 predate the 21st century. 1999 was the first official year of the Mountain West Conference, formed by some of the longtime members of the WAC. Wyoming was known as a solid team around this time, but the class of the conference was clearly LaVell Edwards and BYU, who had won 18 of the last 25 WAC titles. So late in the season, when #15 8-1 BYU rolled into Laramie to face 5-3 Wyoming, the Cougars were heavy favorites to win the game and clinch the Mountain West in its inaugural season. The Cowboys had other plans though, and held BYU to just 29 rushing yards in a 31-17 upset. The fans stormed the field and tore down the goalposts, and Wyoming was right back in the conference title hunt. With a win in the final week they would’ve shared a 4-way title with Utah, BYU, and Colorado State, but lost 7-39 to San Diego State to finish 7-4 and 4th place in the MWC. Despite a winning record, they weren’t invited to play in a bowl either.
4. 1998 (8-3 overall, 6-2 WAC)
Conversely, this was Wyoming’s last year in the WAC. And they had a damn tough defense to play against. After beating Montana State 17-9 in week 1, the Cowboys flew to Athens to play #12 Georgia, and held them scoreless in the 2nd half in a 9-16 loss. Wyoming forced 4 turnovers, and could’ve even pulled off the upset if Georgia didn’t have one of the better defenses in the country. Fast forward later in the season with just 2 weeks left to play, Wyoming still had just 1 loss, to Georgia, and was 8-1 and ranked #25, with wins over .500 or better teams Louisiana Tech, TCU, Colorado State, and Utah. That set up a matchup with #23 Air Force for the WAC Mountain Division title in Laramie. In a battle of the top defenses in the WAC, Air Force did enough for the 10-3 win. Wyoming just needed to win their final game against 3-7 Tulsa, and Las Vegas Bowl representatives were so confident in a Wyoming win that they attended the game, ready to invite the Cowboys after the final whistle. Tulsa played their best game of the year though, in a 35-0 upset, and Wyoming missed out on a bowl.
3. 1996 (10-2 overall, 7-1 WAC)
As the season kicked off, Wyoming celebrated the 100th season in team history. This would be coach Joe Tiller’s last season at the helm before going on to success at Purdue. A 9-0 start came with its up and downs. An opening week 40-38 win over Idaho was too close for comfort, and Wyoming trailed Iowa State 23-38 with just half the 4th quarter remaining, before miraculously coming back to win 41-38 in OT. The defense started to find its stride afterwards and the offense kept clicking, averaging 43.3 PPG in the 9-0 start. A surprise 24-28 loss to 5-2 San Diego State ended the perfect season, but after beating Colorado State the Cowboys were headed to the inaugural WAC championship game to face BYU. A record crowd of 41,238 showed up to Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas that day, for the bout between #6 BYU and #20 Wyoming. BYU QB Steve Sarkisian was the most accurate passer in the NCAA, and their offense was top 5 in the country. Holding a 25-20 lead with just 3 minutes to go, Tiller elected to take a safety instead of punting deep from their own end zone, but BYU would go on to tie it 25-25 before eventually winning 28-25 in OT. Wyoming surprisingly wasn’t invited to a bowl game, but finished #22 in the country.
WR Marcus Harris was the best in the country, earning consensus All-American honors with 109 catches for 1650 yards and 13 TD, also finishing 9th in Heisman voting (the only WR to finish top 10). Harris finished his career as the NCAA’s all-time leading receiver with 4518 yards in just 3 years of starting. S Brian Lee was arguably the best defensive back in school history, ranking 2nd in the nation in interceptions with 8. A year later in 1997, he’d repeat with another 8 INTs, this time leading the country, and earned a consensus All-American spot because of it.
2. 1987 (10-3 overall, 8-0 WAC)
After coach Dennis Erickson left for Washington State following the 1986 season, Wyoming’s athletic director, Paul Roach, hired himself to double as the head football coach. Fans and media members weren’t sure of the move, but would quickly come to enjoy the fruits of his labor. An opening 27-13 win over Air Force was a big one; the Falcons had gone 12-1 just 2 years prior. After dropping a game to Washington State + Erickson and Oklahoma State, a few weeks later the Cowboys were 4-2 heading into BYU. Down 0-14, the Cowboys headed into halftime in front of a record BYU crowd of 65,291. 29 straight points later, Wyoming was up by 15, and would hang on to win 29-27, the game now known as the “Silence of the Cougars”. BYU fans, who just 3 years ago had watched their team win a national title, filed out of the stadium in stunned silence. Wyoming players believed they’d run the table after that and they did, going 10-2 and winning the WAC with a perfect 8-0 record. Wyoming faced Hayden Fry and #18 Iowa in the Holiday Bowl, and the Hawkeyes needed a blocked punt return for TD, pick six, and blocked FG to eek out a 20-19 win. Wyoming QB Craig Burnett was top 10 in the nation in passing yards/TDs with 3131 yards 21 TD 16 INT. RB Gerald Abraham was also top 10 with 1305 rushing yards. The year set up nicely for the 1988 team that would end up being Wyoming’s best team in the last 40 years…
1. 1988 (11-2 overall, 8-0 WAC)
Was the win over BYU a fluke? Going 8-0 in the WAC a farce? The 1988 team set out to quell those doubts. Armed with a new QB in Randy Welniak, Wyoming faced off against BYU in the season opener, a grudge match with the Cougars out for revenge. This time, Wyoming left no doubt. A 24-14 win was even more dominant than the score looked, with Wyoming intercepting 4 passes, recovering 3 fumbles, and racking up 9 sacks. Freshman BYU QB and future Heisman winner Ty Detmer was just 9/26 for 133 yards 1 TD and 4 INT. After that, things were just easy for Wyoming. 44-9 over an 8-3 Louisville team. 38-6 over Louisiana Tech. 55-27 over San Diego State. 61-18 over Utah. Late in the season, ranked #10 and matched up with 8-1 UTEP for the WAC title, Wyoming put on their best performance of the season, beating the Miners 51-6 and winning the WAC title for the 2nd straight year in the process. Wyoming entered their bowl at 10-1, with the only loss to Houston and Andre Ware, who’d win the Heisman a year later. Unfortunately this is where the fun ends, as the Cowboys faced #12 Oklahoma State in the bowl. Do you remember who was on that Oklahoma State team? Yeah, Barry Sanders ran for 222 yards and 5 TD…and sat out the 4th quarter. Oh you thought I was talking about Mike Gundy? Yeah, he had a good game too, 20/24 for 315 yards.
But the focus is on Wyoming. An unreal year. They averaged 39.3 PPG (4th best in the nation) while giving up just 21.5 PPG. 6 wins were by 30+ points. QB Randy Welniak had one of the best seasons by a quarterback in school history, throwing for 2791 yards 21 TD 11 INT with 415 rushing yards and 16 TD. Welniak was 2nd in the country in TDs with 37, and won WAC Offensive POTY. DT Pat Rabold won WAC Defensive POTY. Paul Roach hiring himself as head coach in 1987 turned out to be a shrewd move in hindsight, and would go back to being just AD in 1991 after going 35-15 in his 4 years as coach.

Top 5 Seasons
Worst Season: 2000 (1-10 overall, 0-7 Mountain West)Armed with a new coaching staff led by Vic Koenning, Wyoming’s defensive coordinator for one of the better 3 year stretches in Cowboy football history, Wyoming was full of confidence for the turn of the century. After predictably losing games to Auburn and Texas A&M, Wyoming rebounded to beat Central Michigan 31-10, and had a 21-7 point lead over Nevada, looking for their second straight win. The season ended there, and everyone went home happy. Kidding, Nevada scored 21 straight points to pull off the win in Laramie, and Wyoming didn’t win a game for the rest of the year. The closest loss was by just 12 points, and shutouts included 0-34 to San Diego State and 0-34 to Utah. But the Cowboys were certainly not without talent! Tucked away as the backup QB was Casey Bramlet, who would throw for 3000+ yards in each of the next 3 seasons and is an all-time great Wyoming QB. The receiver room was also loaded, with future NFL WR Malcolm Floyd (5500 receiving yards at the next level), and future CFL veteran WR brothers Brett and Brock Ralph. Brock won 2 Grey Cups, and Brett was a 4 year starter for the Calgary Stampeders.
5. 1999 (7-4 overall, 4-3 Mountain West)
Get ready for a history lesson, because each season in the top 5 predate the 21st century. 1999 was the first official year of the Mountain West Conference, formed by some of the longtime members of the WAC. Wyoming was known as a solid team around this time, but the class of the conference was clearly LaVell Edwards and BYU, who had won 18 of the last 25 WAC titles. So late in the season, when #15 8-1 BYU rolled into Laramie to face 5-3 Wyoming, the Cougars were heavy favorites to win the game and clinch the Mountain West in its inaugural season. The Cowboys had other plans though, and held BYU to just 29 rushing yards in a 31-17 upset. The fans stormed the field and tore down the goalposts, and Wyoming was right back in the conference title hunt. With a win in the final week they would’ve shared a 4-way title with Utah, BYU, and Colorado State, but lost 7-39 to San Diego State to finish 7-4 and 4th place in the MWC. Despite a winning record, they weren’t invited to play in a bowl either.
4. 1998 (8-3 overall, 6-2 WAC)
Conversely, this was Wyoming’s last year in the WAC. And they had a damn tough defense to play against. After beating Montana State 17-9 in week 1, the Cowboys flew to Athens to play #12 Georgia, and held them scoreless in the 2nd half in a 9-16 loss. Wyoming forced 4 turnovers, and could’ve even pulled off the upset if Georgia didn’t have one of the better defenses in the country. Fast forward later in the season with just 2 weeks left to play, Wyoming still had just 1 loss, to Georgia, and was 8-1 and ranked #25, with wins over .500 or better teams Louisiana Tech, TCU, Colorado State, and Utah. That set up a matchup with #23 Air Force for the WAC Mountain Division title in Laramie. In a battle of the top defenses in the WAC, Air Force did enough for the 10-3 win. Wyoming just needed to win their final game against 3-7 Tulsa, and Las Vegas Bowl representatives were so confident in a Wyoming win that they attended the game, ready to invite the Cowboys after the final whistle. Tulsa played their best game of the year though, in a 35-0 upset, and Wyoming missed out on a bowl.
3. 1996 (10-2 overall, 7-1 WAC)
As the season kicked off, Wyoming celebrated the 100th season in team history. This would be coach Joe Tiller’s last season at the helm before going on to success at Purdue. A 9-0 start came with its up and downs. An opening week 40-38 win over Idaho was too close for comfort, and Wyoming trailed Iowa State 23-38 with just half the 4th quarter remaining, before miraculously coming back to win 41-38 in OT. The defense started to find its stride afterwards and the offense kept clicking, averaging 43.3 PPG in the 9-0 start. A surprise 24-28 loss to 5-2 San Diego State ended the perfect season, but after beating Colorado State the Cowboys were headed to the inaugural WAC championship game to face BYU. A record crowd of 41,238 showed up to Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas that day, for the bout between #6 BYU and #20 Wyoming. BYU QB Steve Sarkisian was the most accurate passer in the NCAA, and their offense was top 5 in the country. Holding a 25-20 lead with just 3 minutes to go, Tiller elected to take a safety instead of punting deep from their own end zone, but BYU would go on to tie it 25-25 before eventually winning 28-25 in OT. Wyoming surprisingly wasn’t invited to a bowl game, but finished #22 in the country.
WR Marcus Harris was the best in the country, earning consensus All-American honors with 109 catches for 1650 yards and 13 TD, also finishing 9th in Heisman voting (the only WR to finish top 10). Harris finished his career as the NCAA’s all-time leading receiver with 4518 yards in just 3 years of starting. S Brian Lee was arguably the best defensive back in school history, ranking 2nd in the nation in interceptions with 8. A year later in 1997, he’d repeat with another 8 INTs, this time leading the country, and earned a consensus All-American spot because of it.
2. 1987 (10-3 overall, 8-0 WAC)
After coach Dennis Erickson left for Washington State following the 1986 season, Wyoming’s athletic director, Paul Roach, hired himself to double as the head football coach. Fans and media members weren’t sure of the move, but would quickly come to enjoy the fruits of his labor. An opening 27-13 win over Air Force was a big one; the Falcons had gone 12-1 just 2 years prior. After dropping a game to Washington State + Erickson and Oklahoma State, a few weeks later the Cowboys were 4-2 heading into BYU. Down 0-14, the Cowboys headed into halftime in front of a record BYU crowd of 65,291. 29 straight points later, Wyoming was up by 15, and would hang on to win 29-27, the game now known as the “Silence of the Cougars”. BYU fans, who just 3 years ago had watched their team win a national title, filed out of the stadium in stunned silence. Wyoming players believed they’d run the table after that and they did, going 10-2 and winning the WAC with a perfect 8-0 record. Wyoming faced Hayden Fry and #18 Iowa in the Holiday Bowl, and the Hawkeyes needed a blocked punt return for TD, pick six, and blocked FG to eek out a 20-19 win. Wyoming QB Craig Burnett was top 10 in the nation in passing yards/TDs with 3131 yards 21 TD 16 INT. RB Gerald Abraham was also top 10 with 1305 rushing yards. The year set up nicely for the 1988 team that would end up being Wyoming’s best team in the last 40 years…
1. 1988 (11-2 overall, 8-0 WAC)
Was the win over BYU a fluke? Going 8-0 in the WAC a farce? The 1988 team set out to quell those doubts. Armed with a new QB in Randy Welniak, Wyoming faced off against BYU in the season opener, a grudge match with the Cougars out for revenge. This time, Wyoming left no doubt. A 24-14 win was even more dominant than the score looked, with Wyoming intercepting 4 passes, recovering 3 fumbles, and racking up 9 sacks. Freshman BYU QB and future Heisman winner Ty Detmer was just 9/26 for 133 yards 1 TD and 4 INT. After that, things were just easy for Wyoming. 44-9 over an 8-3 Louisville team. 38-6 over Louisiana Tech. 55-27 over San Diego State. 61-18 over Utah. Late in the season, ranked #10 and matched up with 8-1 UTEP for the WAC title, Wyoming put on their best performance of the season, beating the Miners 51-6 and winning the WAC title for the 2nd straight year in the process. Wyoming entered their bowl at 10-1, with the only loss to Houston and Andre Ware, who’d win the Heisman a year later. Unfortunately this is where the fun ends, as the Cowboys faced #12 Oklahoma State in the bowl. Do you remember who was on that Oklahoma State team? Yeah, Barry Sanders ran for 222 yards and 5 TD…and sat out the 4th quarter. Oh you thought I was talking about Mike Gundy? Yeah, he had a good game too, 20/24 for 315 yards.
But the focus is on Wyoming. An unreal year. They averaged 39.3 PPG (4th best in the nation) while giving up just 21.5 PPG. 6 wins were by 30+ points. QB Randy Welniak had one of the best seasons by a quarterback in school history, throwing for 2791 yards 21 TD 11 INT with 415 rushing yards and 16 TD. Welniak was 2nd in the country in TDs with 37, and won WAC Offensive POTY. DT Pat Rabold won WAC Defensive POTY. Paul Roach hiring himself as head coach in 1987 turned out to be a shrewd move in hindsight, and would go back to being just AD in 1991 after going 35-15 in his 4 years as coach.

(This feud continues as Rated-RKO are granted another championship match against DX by Vince McMahon. The stipulation is decided by DX though after Shawn Michaels beats Edge in a match. DX choose to have it in a place Orton & Edge can’t run… a Steel Cage! DX promise that Rated-RKO are going to get their ass kicked because they deserve it for the way they’ve been acting since aligning with one another. Rated-RKO win the championships via escaping the cage.)

Batista says Kennedy can talk the talk but at the Royal Rumble, he won’t walk the walk when he beats the utter crap out of him.)

Batista promises to get rid of this distraction in Kennedy at No Way Out and will then focus on the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania. Batista wins here and after the match while celebrating his victory… GONG! The Undertaker appears and stares down Batista as No Way Out draws to a close.)

(Batista says with all due respect to The Undertaker, his streak is coming to an end and he’ll further cement himself as the face of not only SmackDown but the entire company. Batista says he’ll not be intimidated by any sort of mind games Taker tries to play which is indeed the case. Taker tries to play mind games on The Animal but it doesn’t work in the slightest. Batista says he’s without doubt the biggest threat ever to The Undertaker’s streak and also goes on record to say he doesn’t fear The Undertaker like others have and he’s just another normal man in his eyes. Undertaker says despite Batista not being intimidated, he’s going to find out The Deadman isn’t any normal man and his ballsy pride will fall at the feet of the reaper when he once again wins gold in his illustrious career while keeping his WrestleMania streak in tact. Batista comes very close but in the end, The Undertaker wins the World Heavyweight Championship to go 15-0 at WrestleMania!)
Hair vs Hair Match for the Intercontinental Championship - Stone Cold Steven Austin is the Special Guest Referee:
Umaga (c) w/Armando Estrada & Vince McMahon vs Bobby Lashley w/Donald Trump
(Same build up as in real life but with Umaga’s Intercontinental Championship on the line. If Umaga wins, Donald Trump will have to shave his head. If Bobby Lashley wins, Vince McMahon will have to shave his. As much as Vince tries to screw Lashley, Austin ensures he doesn’t, stunners McMahon, stunners Umaga and Umaga then falls into a Spear from Lashley who then pins Umaga to win the Intercontinental Championship! After the match, Austin, Lashley and Trump shave McMahon’s head and celebrate with beers. Austin then stunners Trump and the crowd pops big time as he and Lashley continue to celebrate.)

(Shawn Michaels wins a #1 Contender’s match against Edge and Randy Orton on Raw to earn this shot against John Cena at WrestleMania. In the build up, Shawn Michaels says it’s been 9 years since he’s been the WWE Champion and with him not having many years left ahead of him, he wants to be on top of the mountain again and feels he has a massive chip on his shoulder to win the big one again. Michaels says just like at WrestleMania 12, the boyhood dream will become a reality even at John Cena who he respects expense. John Cena says Shawn Michaels is an all time great, Mr. WrestleMania, The Showstopper! And it’ll be an honour to face him at WrestleMania but he’s not willing to let Shawn Michaels take his title in favour of a boyhood story that he’d be in favour of if it wasn’t at his expense. John Cena forces Michaels to submit to the STFU. WrestleMania draws to a close with Cena holding his title up high.)

(After WrestleMania, CM Punk says that this is just the start of his rise in the WWE and one day he’ll go onto bigger things but right now, ECW is his home and he welcomes all challenges thrown his way. Vince McMahon interrupts and tells Punk he doesn’t like the thought of him being the face of ECW. Vince also says that Punk’s fantasy of going onto bigger and better things won’t happen while he’s in charge because he’s never WWE or World Championship material. McMahon says Punk will defend the ECW Championship at Backlash against 3 other men in an attempt to be proved right that Punk isn’t good enough. Vince chooses Rob Van Dam, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Punk says Vince can stack the odds if he wants, he’ll overcome them and be the fighting champion he promised to be. CM Punk retains the championship after delivering a GTS to Cor Von.)

Last Man Standing Match:
The Undertaker (c) vs Batista (Draw)
(On the SmackDown after WrestleMania, Batista interrupts The Undertaker and tells him “Congratulations, I want my rematch”. Taker nods in approval and the match is set. Teddy Long ups the stakes and announces this match will be contested in a Last Man Standing Match! Batista says Taker was the better man at WrestleMania but he took him to his limit and maintains The Deadman is like any normal man and he can slay him at Backlash. Taker promises it’ll be the same story as WrestleMania and Batista will Rest in Peace! This match ends in a draw after Batista spears Undertaker off the stage and both men fail to answer the referees count of 10.)
WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton vs Edge
(Shawn Michaels asks for another shot to face John Cena for the WWE Championship but is interrupted by Edge. Edge says Michaels lost at WrestleMania so he can get to the back of the line, it’s his turn to face John Cena and get revenge on him after losing the championship to him in his hometown back at Unforgiven. Randy Orton further interrupts and says Edge has also lost to John Cena so he can get to the back of the line too. Orton says he’s never faced Cena so it’s only right he gets the opportunity because he knows if he gets it, he’ll beat him! This causes tension between Edge and Orton as they’ve also just lost their titles and they officially split in the build up to this and start fighting every time they see each other. Jonathan Coachman says all 3 men have a case so at Backlash, John Cena will defend his title in a Fatal 4-Way. In all time classic main event, Shawn Michaels delivers a Sweet Chin Music to Cena who then falls on top of Orton and covers him to luckily retain the WWE Championship! Michaels can’t believe since he had the match won. Backlash draws to a close with Michaels walking backstage in utter disbelief and signals he’s not done with Cena yet.)

DX promise that Rated-RKO are going to get their ass kicked because they deserve it for the way they’ve been acting since aligning with one another. (Batista says with all due respect to The Undertaker, his streak is coming to an end and he’ll further cement himself as the face of not only SmackDown but the entire company. Batista says he’ll not be intimidated by any sort of mind games Taker tries to play which is indeed the case. Taker tries to play mind games on The Animal but it doesn’t work in the slightest. Batista says he’s without doubt the biggest threat ever to The Undertaker’s streak and also goes on record to say he doesn’t fear The Undertaker like others have and he’s just another normal man in his eyes. Undertaker says despite Batista not being intimidated, he’s going to find out The Deadman isn’t any normal man and his ballsy pride will fall at the feet of the reaper when he once again wins gold in his illustrious career while keeping his WrestleMania streak in tact. Batista comes very close but in the end, The Undertaker wins the World Heavyweight Championship to go 15-0 at WrestleMania!)

(Same build up as in real life but with Umaga’s Intercontinental Championship on the line. If Umaga wins, Donald Trump will have to shave his head. If Bobby Lashley wins, Vince McMahon will have to shave his. As much as Vince tries to screw Lashley, Austin ensures he doesn’t, stunners McMahon, stunners Umaga and Umaga then falls into a Spear from Lashley who then pins Umaga to win the Intercontinental Championship! After the match, Austin, Lashley and Trump shave McMahon’s head and celebrate with beers. Austin then stunners Trump and the crowd pops big time as he and Lashley continue to celebrate.)

(Shawn Michaels wins a #1 Contender’s match against Edge and Randy Orton on Raw to earn this shot against John Cena at WrestleMania. In the build up, Shawn Michaels says it’s been 9 years since he’s been the WWE Champion and with him not having many years left ahead of him, he wants to be on top of the mountain again and feels he has a massive chip on his shoulder to win the big one again. Michaels says just like at WrestleMania 12, the boyhood dream will become a reality even at John Cena who he respects expense. John Cena says Shawn Michaels is an all time great, Mr. WrestleMania, The Showstopper! And it’ll be an honour to face him at WrestleMania but he’s not willing to let Shawn Michaels take his title in favour of a boyhood story that he’d be in favour of if it wasn’t at his expense. Vince McMahon interrupts and tells Punk he doesn’t like the thought of him being the face of ECW. Vince also says that Punk’s fantasy of going onto bigger and better things won’t happen while he’s in charge because he’s never WWE or World Championship material. McMahon says Punk will defend the ECW Championship at Backlash against 3 other men in an attempt to be proved right that Punk isn’t good enough. Vince chooses Rob Van Dam, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Punk says Vince can stack the odds if he wants, he’ll overcome them and be the fighting champion he promised to be. CM Punk retains the championship after delivering a GTS to Cor Von.)

Last Man Standing Match:

(On the SmackDown after WrestleMania, Batista interrupts The Undertaker and tells him “Congratulations, I want my rematch”. Taker nods in approval and the match is set. Teddy Long ups the stakes and announces this match will be contested in a Last Man Standing Match! Batista says Taker was the better man at WrestleMania but he took him to his limit and maintains The Deadman is like any normal man and he can slay him at Backlash. Taker promises it’ll be the same story as WrestleMania and Batista will Rest in Peace! This match ends in a draw after Batista spears Undertaker off the stage and both men fail to answer the referees count of 10.)
WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton vs Edge
(Shawn Michaels asks for another shot to face John Cena for the WWE Championship but is interrupted by Edge. Edge says Michaels lost at WrestleMania so he can get to the back of the line, it’s his turn to face John Cena and get revenge on him after losing the championship to him in his hometown back at Unforgiven. Randy Orton further interrupts and says Edge has also lost to John Cena so he can get to the back of the line too. Orton says he’s never faced Cena so it’s only right he gets the opportunity because he knows if he gets it, he’ll beat him! This causes tension between Edge and Orton as they’ve also just lost their titles and they officially split in the build up to this and start fighting every time they see each other. Jonathan Coachman says all 3 men have a case so at Backlash, John Cena will defend his title in a Fatal 4-Way. In all time classic main event, Shawn Michaels delivers a Sweet Chin Music to Cena who then falls on top of Orton and covers him to luckily retain the WWE Championship! Michaels can’t believe since he had the match won. Backlash draws to a close with Michaels walking backstage in utter disbelief and signals he’s not done with Cena yet.)

Bit of a weird post this is gonna be, but when a Mattenga's pizzeria opened up near me last year, I had a chance to try their calzone and really enjoyed it. I ended up looking for different restaurants that offer calzones in San Antonio and here's a list ranking the ones I've tried, in no particular order.
Pizza Hut's melt: This might not even be a calzone technically but I just wanted to include it since it is calzone like and avaliable pretty much anywhere. The crust has a consistency similar to cardboard lol
Braza Brava: Went here for my Bday, the calzone crust was kind of burnt and dry, but they did include a good amount of toppings inside to counter for that. It wasn't bad by any means, but I feel like if you're gonna go here there's better stuff on the menu.
Guillermo's: Easily the best one in my opinion. Something about the meltiness of the cheese and crust just made this one a pleasure to enjoy. My girlfriend really enjoyed it too, and she really doesn't like calzones all that much. This is the most expensive option, nearing $20 for the one calzone, but it was absolutely worth IMO.
Rome's Pizza: A good amount of meat, cheese and bread. I don't have much to say for this one except that it's good lol.
Zio's: Zios has now closed their locations but I wanted to mention it in case anyone else was interested in how it was. I remember going here as a kid and always getting the calzone and being so full that I had to take some of it home. I remember I tried the calzone because my dad was like "its just like a big hot pocket" in his attempt to get me away from chicken tenders. It worked lol.

I specifically order it with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and extra cheese, and they do a great job with filling it. I usually eat it myself though, so that's not a big deal in my eyes.
I know this it's not nearly a comprehensive list of all the calzones in SA but just the ones I've tried. If anyone knows of any better ones let me know! I told my girlfriend I would try each calzone in the city once lol.

I was passing through her town a few weeks ago and we planned to get ice cream after she got off work. The night before, she texted me asking if I was open to making it a date. I was absolutely thrilled that she also felt something and called her to officially ask her and make it a date.
That evening having ice cream was amazing with both of us being open about our feelings that we both liked each other, both committed (though it would be long distance which she was a bit weary about but we talked it through that we would still see each other when we could but we also have our own lives so can balance both), but also open to seeing what happens either good or bad. She was saying how she feels so comfortable around me and really enjoys spending time with me (and same for me with her). I brought her flowers to the date and then when walking to her car in the empty parking lot, a romantic song was playing on the mall speaker so we danced in the parking lot together which was amazing. The next week I would be passing by again so we decided to go on a second date which we were both very excited for. That week in-between we were continually texting each other and things were going great.
On the second date, I picked her up from her house and we went to a nearby park and we had so much fun hiking, kayaking, I brought a picnic which we ate at the park, danced, and then we made it official to be in a relationship. We were both ecstatic and both saying how we see something together and want to see where it goes. We have many mutual friends in common and were looking forward to telling them that we were dating. We planned to see each other the weekend after and meet halfway where we lived. This worried me since I thought something was wrong so after eating lunch in the park I asked her how the past week went and if there was anything we wanted to talk about since we both promised to be open and honest with each other. She said nothing was wrong and she had enjoyed it and after that she started warming up a bit more, though I wasn't fully convinced. After dinner we said goodbye and on my way home she called me saying she always wandered what would have happened if we dated, but didn't feel it anymore and wanted to be done. She was saying she values our friendship but lost feelings and then said she wanted to wait for a bit before we started talking to each other again.
I was (and still am) just absolutely blindsided, shocked, confused, feeling like a fool, and taken advantage of. She was saying all of these amazing things about me, saying she sees something with me, and then a week later feels nothing and cuts it all off. I said ok but was confused why she didn't want to bring it up in person since it felt like an in-person conversation and how I asked her about it during the day. She was apologizing since she knew she hurt me, but I was saying thank you for being honest and not stringing me along more than needed. I have received mixed signals from her and she has mentioned she is extremely indecisive which I don't think helped her thought process of overthinking. Though I feel like she didn't give me a chance and barely counts as dating (for a week!?!) and only went on 3 dates. I don't understand and am confused how she initiated and must have felt something, was saying she was very committed, and then took it all back and seems to want nothing to do with me. Neither of us have went on a date since our last relationships ended 3-4.5 years ago so it is definitely new territory both in the dating world and being friends for so long, but I don't know what went wrong. If it was something I said in the the first week (though we knew each other so well already I don't think it could have been anything), she realized she didn't want to do long distance, isn't ready to date yet, or just really doesn't like me romantically. I really want to reach out and talk to her and be friends again (I know it is too early), but it pains me how we had something so great and now it is all over. I have been really good friends with this girl I knew in college for several years and we would constantly be texting each throughout the week keeping each other updated on our lives. Whenever we were in each others towns we would make a point to see each other and hang out which was wonderful. We wouldn't call super often, but would send lots of voice memos to each other telling about our days, funny stories, etc. I grew to really like her and we had so much in common and similar views on life that I wanted to let her know how I felt the next time I saw her. I was passing through her town a few weeks ago and we planned to get ice cream after she got off work. The night before, she texted me asking if I was open to making it a date. I was absolutely thrilled that she also felt something and called her to officially ask her and make it a date.
That evening having ice cream was amazing with both of us being open about our feelings that we both liked each other, both committed (though it would be long distance which she was a bit weary about but we talked it through that we would still see each other when we could but we also have our own lives so can balance both), but also open to seeing what happens either good or bad. She was saying how she feels so comfortable around me and really enjoys spending time with me (and same for me with her). I brought her flowers to the date and then when walking to her car in the empty parking lot, a romantic song was playing on the mall speaker so we danced in the parking lot together which was amazing. The next week I would be passing by again so we decided to go on a second date which we were both very excited for. Assuming a customer needs virtualization infrastructure for a few dozen VMs per cluster in 4 different sites/physical locations, duplicated for each site (so 8 total clusters with VMs being able to migrate between clusters inside each site in case of failure) and which have to be redundant and reliable (manufacturing), what would you propose in 2023?
I admit I've been out of the onpremise game for a while and, while I heard that VMware is not recommended anymore, I'm unaware of the current meta concerning the actual hardware and the virtualization software.
Is the old 2 virtualization servers cross-connected to 2 different switches with a redundant SAN connected via fiberchannel still recommended or is it now all about Hyper-Converged or even Azure Stack HCI?

Hello paranormal Reddit. I 22F have a small Bichon 4M curently vibing in my feet.
He is the love of my life and the goodest boy possible to exist . He never barks or chase cats and dogs he is always quiet and understands when my anxiety hits me and cuddles with me untill I sleep.
Even when I shave him (which he completely hates and whines about ) he gives me his paws and moves around for me to be able to reach him better with the shaving machine. When it's time for bath I just go bath time and he zooms in the bathtub.. he is really the greatest and I fear for the time he will not be around .
A few nights ago i got home a little bit late due to some work and we went for our night walk at 2AM.
I don't mind the time cause we live in a small village and I usually take him around the corner and back . So for context I live in narrow street.
My house is right at the start of the street and further down at the end there is a homeowner with a pitbull that goes vivid even if he hears just wind. All their yard is covered in thick metals just for their dog to not see and bark at others..No residents confront to pass from there and enter my street and if they do trust me you will hear them. That pitbull also goes to extreme lengths for dogs that pass by and barks just if he hears them 2 blocks away.. between the start and end of my street are exactly 6 and 6 houses opposite it's other. And none of them connects to other streets and have dogs (quess why) but me. Even if my dog goes more than 200 meters beside the pitbulls house it goes vivid and barks all night.
So as I am reaching about halfway and looking at my dog. ( I always have my eyes on him cause some neighbors put poisoned food a while ago as bait and I nearly got to him. He hears me but not in regards of food he completely demolish every single bite ) Suddenly I see him frozen looking at something and he steps back and starts growling .
He never growls! Not even barks so I raise my eyes and see the figure of an older mister with a lease and a dog at its end. The lamp of the street is exactly behind him so I can only see black and his figure. I immediately turn to my dog and go 'Bad boy! Don't growl! My dog in now in a normal state and I turn and say" I am sorry he barked at you sir "within no more than 1 second I raised my eyes and there was no one there.. Like the guy I was talking to didn't even exist. I freaked out and rushed me and my dog home. If this mister was just a person walking his dog he could not have come from the end of the street cause the pitbull would bark. And also he couldn't have come from behind me cause I would hear or see him as the figure was like 10 meters in front of me. None of my neighbors there is elderly or with dogs...
So what the hell was 'that'? My dog has never growled since then...
