2023.06.04 19:39 Iheartpuppies04 Remedy for high cut door jams

We ripped up the carpet and are putting in Lifeproof LVP flooring. The door jams are cut super high (not by us) and I'm not sure how to remedy this. There's about a .75 gap between the flooring and the bottom of the door jam. Obviously quarter round won't work on the textured jam. Is there anything that can be done here? Thanks!

2023.06.03 14:28 Bballwolf Does anybody have this type of LifeProof bamboo flooring?

https://imgur.com/a/BnRkE6Y
I'm thinking about getting that flooring to replace the super crappy, cheaply made, LPT flooring in my kitchen and bathroom.
The flooring I have now is breaking at the joints and has been a disaster. So I'm wanting to get something nicer to replace it with. This bamboo flooring is also waterproof and looks really nice.
Does anybody have any experience with it? Positive or negative reviews?

2023.05.31 19:32 Senorclemente Fair price for my 2015 Promaster Conversion?

Fair price for my 2015 Promaster Conversion?
My partner and I are prepping to post our van for sale and wanted to see what this group thinks is a fair price. Here’s the details:
Backstory - I bought the van from another vanlifer with a basic build in 2021. Since then I’ve traveled across the US east to west, north to south, and slowly updated the interior to the current setup which we’ve been very happy with. I love this van, but my partner and I have settled in Denver now and I’m just not using it enough to justify keeping it.
VAN 148k miles, no mechanical issues and has been well maintained with regular oil changes V6 Cylinder Engine Front-wheel drive High roof 159 inch wheelbase Backup camera LoJack security system 2 new all terrain tires put on last winter and still like new, other 2 tires still have good tread Brand new battery Brand new windshield (my colorado people will understand how important this is!)
BUILD 2 - 100Ah AGM batteries (can be charged via solar power or by driving via battery isolator) 2 - 120W solar panels 5 gallon water tanks (easy to fill/dump) Electric water pump for sink Lifeproof Waterproof Vinyl Plank flooring Fan Fridge with freezer USB & USB-C outlets, standard house outlets, and 12v outlet WeBoost Diesel heater - clutch if you’re hoping to use this for ski/mountain adventures! Smoke detector & CO2 detector Mattress is between a full and queen size - we fit two people comfortably without issue Lagun swivel table - move it out of the way when not in use, adjust to different positions as needed. I have a spare mount I can throw in as well if you want to give yourself more options (toyed with the idea of one that could swivel outside but never got around to it) Large open garage space - great for bikes, gear, whatever else you need to store This van is completely stealth from the outside which makes it great for city camping and it can fit in a normal parking spot
Other notes: there are a few small dings on the outside of the van from the previous owners - these are all small/cosmetic and haven’t caused me any issues
I’ll do my best to answer questions on the electrical, but most of this was done by the original owner. I’ve had zero issues with it since I’ve had the van and have been able to work remotely / run all my electronics off grid and never ran out of juice.
I love this van and am still enjoying it on the weekends I can until it sells. I’ll be waiting for the right price and owner who can enjoy it moving forward.

2023.05.29 22:50 Striking-Attorney-61 Best flooring?

I have heard lifeproof and lvp flooring are the best for rentals. Any recommendations that anyone has used that stood the test of time or a certain store that tends to give best bulk pricing? Looking for 2k sqft at under $3/sqft.

2023.05.29 22:41 hoi_polloi9 Small Kitchen Ideas

It's time... It's way past time to refresh this kitchen and I'm stuck on where to go with it and I'm looking for help. It's a small kitchen. Roughly 66 square feet walkable space. Roughly 115 square feet for the kitchen itself when appliances, countertop and pantry are included.
Let's go over what you see. Pictures are in the afternoon with pretty much their fullest natural light + lights on. An ancient laminate countertop. An over the sink light fixture that has done the Lord's work but needs to retire. An even more ancient vinyl sheet on the floor which transitions to hardwood floor (pine) on both sides of the kitchen. Oak cabinet doors and door frames with oak covered particle board everything else. New stainless steel range and dishwasher. Stainless steel microwave and fridge will have to be done later as we'd like to do stainless appliances throughout. Ceiling and walls are Ben Moore White Dove.
In an ideal world, I'd bring the hardwood floors into the kitchen but that's a no-go for right now as it would trigger a full blown kitchen remodel. I'm torn between LVP flooring and tile. I've been looking at Lowe's Gary Ashe and White Aspen. Home Depot's Chancellor, Calhoun and even Slate. I'm going to re-cover the laminate countertops. I'm not sure how viable an option restaining the cabinets is as the faux oak tops on particle board have some visible sides. We don't want to default to the white and gray look for cabinets, floors and countertop but it seems to be where we wind up. I know we need to be on the lighter, warmer side but just not sure how to get there. What's in the budget is to replace the flooring, re-cover the countertop, replace light fixtures, paint or possibly restain the cabinets, new cabinet fixtures, repaint the walls if needed. I'd rather not do a backsplash at this stage but I won't say no either.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this and help!
Edit to add: it would be nice to actually include the images, lol

MET Team: We changed the prices on the beams, not the samples.
"I don't like walking up and down ladders" is literally what the MET associates told me. Causes a $15 a box markdown since customers see the old tag which is cheaper. Guess I'll change it myself, where's my free MET swag?

2023.05.26 00:08 hmidontgetit DMX 1-Step and Lifeproof Vinyl Floors (12mm) - will this work?

Hi all,
Getting to the final stages of my basement flooring project and deciding between using the DMX 1-step or putting the Lifeproof LVP right on the bare concrete. The floor is 99% dry, with no standing water ever.
Reading things online, it seems as if some people have had issues with the DMX not providing a rigid enough surface for the LVP installation. That said, many more people have left reviews and such that it worked fine with LVP. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do.
Does anyone have any experience with DMX 1-Step and 8mm LVP that can provide some insight?

2023.05.16 20:50 mahershalalhashbazzz Lvp over plank flooring

Hi! We're replacing carpet with LVP. under our carpet we have old plank flooring which I've screwed down to the joists to help remove squeaks. Our current plan is to install 5mm plywood underlayment over the plank subfloor with LifeProof LVP on top of that. My question is, is this a good plan? Do we need thicker ply or would that work? The plank has some flex to it if I put all my weight on a plank in the middle of the joists, and the hallway still has some squeaking despite screwing it down. I've never done a project like this so your help is appreciated!!!

2023.05.05 18:53 Big_Igloo_plz Any experience with this product?

Product is Dryloc Masonry Waterproofer https://imgur.com/gallery/unMpRf2
TLDR: Is etched the medium grit that important?
Redoing the floors in a partially below ground level apartment. It's a super smooth slab atm, on the down hill side of the structure. The slab has been here since the 70s, french drains were installed a couple months ago, and yet no indication of a moisture issue with the slab. I can see plastic coming up the sides of the slab where it meets the exterior wall. Also, new flooring will be LVP with underlayment attached (Like Lifeproof, but not that brand). My 3 questions are: 1) do I even bother applying it? Seems overkill. 2) if I should, how important is that finish the instructions list 3) is it easier to pour and spread or would I be better off just rolling it out?
And before "follow all instuctions", the instructions on cookie dough say don't eat it raw, yet here we are.

2023.05.05 00:51 No_Taxes Sticky flooring solution

Hi everyone trying to see what my options are after removing fake vinyl brick. The floor is sticky with little residual glue on the floor. We can scrap away the glue but used baby powder to help with tackiness. We plan on using lifeproof lvp. Would it be fine to install if it is slightly tacky? I read somewhere that using primer over the floor will stop the tackiness but would that cause moisture or expansion issues? Thanks for any insight.

2023.05.04 16:27 PepeTheMule Pergo Outlast+ and cork underlayment?

My in-laws are replacing the carpet in their condo. The HOA says they need a 6mm underlayment of cork since it's concrete floor. They picked Outlast+ by Pergo but I notice it has an attached underlayment and Pergo recommends as 3mm underlayment they produce. But the Outlast+ underpad is 2mm and their underlayment is only 3mm so we are short 1. Will it be an issue installing an Cork Underlayment that will fufill requirements? I know with Lifeproof LVP, you'd void the warranty if you added an underlayment.

2023.05.03 01:11 haehee Where to buy flooring and installation in St. John's

We have a 300 square foot space in our house which needs new flooring and I can't be assed to be at it. Got enough home projects on the go.
I'm planning on buying some lifeproof vinyl. I'm generally familiar with the shops in town which sell flooring, but I'm curious as to what people's experiences are, particularly for installation.
If you had flooring installed by a local company, how was it? Do you recall roughly how much it cost per square foot?

2023.04.24 05:13 DailyThinker100 LVP Flooring for a 2nd Floor Kitchen and Tenants - Choosing Which LVP to buy.

Anyone have a brand LVP they've installed and know from experience it is good and holds up to tenants?
I'm redoing a kitchen on a 2nd floor unit and can use some recommendations. I'm digging into the details and went and looked at some LVP at Costco, Home Depot, and Floor and Decor just so I can start seeing the details and options. The rooms in the house have oak and I'm having then refinished either natural, or with a light stain so I'm trying to keep the LVP a natural style wood, not the trendy colors.I'm shooting for at least 5mm-6mm thick, and a wear layer of at least 12mil from what I can tell is a decent baseline. I'm open to regular core, or some type of more rigid plank. The floor below already has an extra layer of 3/4" plywood so I'm trying to keep it on the slightly thinner side, not too thin where it will buckle or be bad, but thinner than some of the premium ones that start getting close to the thickness of real wood.
I've seen some people on the web say a 6mil wear layer is better than a 12mil if its ceramic vs. older UV Cured or Aluminum Oxide coating.
My budget is $3-$4 per square foot, and I'm doing about 275 square feet total.
I find so many people praising and bashing big box store product, but I would be fine buying one from a big box if its decent and price is reasonable considering.
Costco and their Mohawk Home Line looks great, but their color selection in storeis pretty poor, but its on sale for about $2.15 per sq/ft so I'm tempted to go with their gray color, but I know grey color trends are moving along, so I was hoping to find something more natural color, or more in the brown family and Costco doesn't have anything like that, but the price is truly hard to beat and the product feels great. They have a natural color I was hoping would work, but I laid out a bunch of planks together and it looks like unfinished wood, so sadly that color is out and gray is the only choice here. I read that you can order only for closer to $2.75 per sq/ft shipped, but I don't have the time to wait for samples and then shipping so I need something off the shelf within the next few days/week.
Home Depot (LifeProof) has the 6mil, 12mil, and 22mil products. They are all $3.50-$4.25. Not sure if its true but I saw some saying the 6mil product is newer ceramic coating and is better than many other brands 12 mil and higher wear layer. Unsure if true, but I'm curious.
Lumber Liquidators (LL Flooring) product was closer to $4, comparable to Home Depot LifeProof taking scratches and test damage, and wasn't all that more impressive than the Costco product for roughly double the cost.
The Costco Mohawk Home Rigid Plank right now is winning at around $2.15 per sq/ft, I just didn't want gray color.
Anyone have any specific brand/model they recommend?

Anyone have a brand LVP they've installed and know from experience it is good and holds up to tenants?
I'm redoing a kitchen on a 2nd floor unit and can use some recommendations. I'm digging into the details and went and looked at some at Home Depot and Floor and Decor. The rooms in the house have red oak and I'm having then refinished either natural, or with a light stain so I'm trying to keep the LVP a natural style wood, not the trendy colors.
Floor and Decor has some decent ones around $3 sq/ft, and Home Depot has Lifeproof brand closer to $4 that has mostly decent reviews, with some haters on the web.

2023.03.28 01:25 chesser45 Fixing broken groove on lvp

During the installation of our LifeProof LVP flooring the last plank in the first row of planks broke in the groove. Luckily, it is on the short end but it sort of holds now.
Is there a way it can be held in place or otherwise resolved without attempting to disassemble the entire thing again? It broke following installing a couple other rows so not confident that other grooves will not also fail if we have to pull them all apart.
Thanks for any advice.

2023.03.20 16:13 yes_imnewhere Wear Layer on Lifeproof Luxury Vinyl Plank

Thinking about installing about 750 sq ft of Lifeproof luxury vinyl plank in our kitchen and main floor living area. Of course the color we liked ended up only being made in a 6 mil wear layer. I've heard mixed things about wear layer - people on one end saying it's a scam to get consumers to pay higher prices and people on the other end saying that anything under 20 mil is garbage and not worth your money. No kids or pets, so I'm wondering if 6 mil will be enough or if anyone has installed Lifeproof 6 mil and has any advice about the general durability of it as far as scratching/damage goes. Thanks!

2023.03.19 01:16 flexela LVP flooring from local store vs. Big box?

Hey all, just got back from HD and am interested in LifeProof LVP that is $3.60 per sq foot. It is 6mm and has a 12mil wear layer. I was scrolling on facebook and came across a local store not far from me that claims to order straight from a manufacturer for $2 per sq foot. There’s is 5mm with a 20mil wear layer. The have a store front and their facebook has traction. Their floor looks pretty nice. Should I consider them? How do I know if it’s cheap? They say they offer manufacturer warranty too. This would save me a lot of money.
