So since May 02, I’ve diligently been on this nofap journey, and it’s been rewarding, but there’s also been a flip side— I’m still having sexual thoughts like CRAZY. Waking up in the morning, at work, at home, literally wherevewhenever.
Today was particularly interesting— I had a dentist check-up since my job covers 80% of charges.
Going in for the appointment, I was introduced to this really attractive assistant, who had me perform some exams with her.
For context, I’m about 6’3– tall, lean and plus I had on pretty tight slim fit pants (32x32).
So during the exam, she had me stand straight up and kept adjusting this X-ray contraption she had me in, touching in particular my face, arms and back. This had me completely aroused, to the point that I had a boner. There’s just no way she couldn’t see it— I’m sure of it.
She smiled, locked eyes with me a bunch and kept remarking how tall I was. It was all a nice ego boost, but all this did was enhance my sexual thoughts.
But the most embarrassing thing happened after the appointment— I saw that my pants were a bit soiled, so I reached in, and noticed the pre-*** on my fingers. I hope that’s not too graphic for this community, but I just thought I’d share.
Currently I’m 39 days into this journey, but these raging boners are too much. Is there any way to suppress these thoughts?
Luckily I haven’t had a single wet dream (never actually had one in my life), but I feel I’m going to break.
I’m going for a follow-up appointment next weekend and I don’t want this same episode re-occurring.
My plan is to keep this streak going into early 2024. Do these thoughts suppress after day 60? 90? Would appreciate you guys’ thoughts

I’m still figuring out what style I want to approach to help out this community. Still at the meta stage, so please be patient. Anyways… I’ll answer the most asked question this month.
How does one start a cafe?
There are 2 ways to start a cafe.

• Empty box - You lease/buy a space and buy everything from ground up.
• Turn Key - you buy an existing space and all you have to do it “turn the key”

This will depend on your character. But to me, the most important thing to consider in starting a business is your risk/reward ratio. I knew a couple things about myself.

1. I have no knowledge of cafe business
   
2. I do not anything in regards to franchise business
   
3. I have no on coffee/boba IQ
   
4. Coffeeshop Margins are miniscule.
   

When you don’t have actual experience besides reading books, your business IQ is 0. I can say this now for sure because…. despite my love for books, I was wildly shocked how much I didn’t know. The gap between theoretical knowledge (although important) and practical application are so distant it was quite eye opening. Even more so in true knowledge.
I told the broker that I will not do this unless the cafe is turnkey and it was the right move. In a turn-key, you tend to lose control of how you want to build but you save at least 2x the amount of $. You gain knowledge, you see what's actually possible, what is needed, what is unnecessary and here is why.
Blender Theory
As an example...I have what I call "blender theory". The previous owner bought a open blender (vitamix, which I recommend as well) because we use the blender often for frappe, smoothies, and slushes. But there is an issue with the blender.
The blender is loud. In a small cafe (open style), it echoes quite loudly and disrupts the vibe of the shop. Oftentimes, I can’t hear customer orders, customers can’t hear their order, complain they can’t hear them talk, etc. The difference between an open blender and caged blender is $300 vs $1000.
What if we had a cafe that makes our drinks on the back (back style)? Then we don’t need a caged blender. There are these little things that add up. The refrigerator that opens from left instead of right, the ice machine that's bottom scoop vs height scoop, mixing spoons that's too small vs too wide, size of the equipment, etc. All these little minor details seem irrelevant, but $1 x 10,000 problem is the same as $10,000 x 1 problem. You should do your best to make your mistake thats "time" rather than "money." Because you can always find ways to work more, but there isn't always time to get more money. That's why its important to work in the industry first.
Why your 1st shop should be turn key
The dangerous thing about not having any actual experience is that you have no base to know what is right for you. If you built a coffee shop from the ground up and designed an open style cafe, you needed a caged blender, but because it was too expensive you bought an open blender. Then you wasted extra $300 that you didn’t need to waste if you had the previous experience. Because well...you’ll need to get a caged blender later on.
What is “correct” and what is “right”?
Let's say you want to start a cafe from scratch that is an open style cafe and hire a consultant and you ask them “find me a blender that's budget friendly under $500” Then they’ll offer you the $300 blender even if you needed the $1000.
If you are at the Starbucks level, they’ll tell you every variation of every blender and every scenario but….those company won’t even look at your request. Their consultation fee alone is $10,000. They are not going to bother with small cafe. And the ones who will take your request will do just enough to get you to buy their services. After all, they fulfilled your conditions.
As a devil's advocate, If they happen to offer the two choices, what do you suppose someone with no experience would say?
“$1000? That's 2x the budget I asked for. I can see how it could be ‘loud’ but how loud could it be? Can it justify paying that much more? I saw one online for $300. I shouldn’t get fancy in the beginning i should try to reserve fund as much as possible for emergency. This is the right move”
Well...this was my line of thought, as well as the previous owners thought, and pretty much all the owners I talked who didn't have cafe experience. And guess what…I’m buying the $1000 blender this week.
I can’t say if this is naivete or arrogance but…it stems from not having experience. Because if you have no experience, you become one of the three; everything makes sense, you think you know everything, or everyone is out to get you. I have been all three.
That's why these management companies, food consultants, efficiency experts whose job is to save you money aren't necessarily the best thing... And scarily enough… even if the number looks right.
Imagine if you open 10 open style café and buy the open blender, only to have all the customers complain and you buy the new caged blender later. Or worse, you don't know why your business is not thriving. That alone is enough to break the cafe’s profit. Everything looked right on paper but it didn’t translate well later on. These small things snowball into huge success or failure.
This lesson is hard to explain but if I can try its... what is “right” isn’t necessarily “correct.” and what is “correct” isn’t necessarily “right.” That's why its hard to replicate success based on what someone else have done. And I’m only talking about blenders. Do you know how much an espresso machine, refrigerator, layout, chairs/table cost? I'll give you a hints, its more expensive than blenders.
Why vague advices exist
To gain…. "TRUE" understanding...you have to experience it yourself.
That's why there is so much truth in the advice “just try it.” because it's simply impossible to encompass experience into words. No amount of book learning can help you appreciate what it's like to be inside the storm and how to weather it.
How to connect the dots.
And from my humble experience, it's almost impossible to connect the dots unless you experienced them yourself.
If I had a blender at home, I would think, “man this thing is loud.” You have that experience in your pocket and maybe you visit a coffee shop and notice “man they make so many frappes, but its not loud, I wonder why?” and you notice that all the blenders are caged blenders. The dot connects. You level up.
So whatever you want to pursue, experience it in any form possible. Try that new coffeeshop, taste something you haven't before, buy that home espresso machine, look at that new layout, fuck that blender, and etc…
Knowledge in incremental and experience is exponential, so experience what's out there for you in the field you want to pursue. Its the best way to learn.

I lost my mother at the beginning of this year to GBM. At the same time, my employment contract expired and we then cared for her at home until she passed away and lived off of savings. After the funeral (which was very expensive as well), I pulled myself together and finished my master’s degree and have currently been applying for new employment for a few weeks, but it’s proving more difficult than I had hoped. The bills are piling up, I can’t pay my health insurance (which Is obligated in my country), bills for a refrigerator repair, cell phone contract and dog tax are still unpaid. And I have completely exhausted my overdraft with over 2,000€, the wallet is completely empty. I’m trying to get on my feet after the sudden loss of my mother, but I’m not succeeding with all the debts. Because I have been powering through my master thesis so much i think the grief is now really catching up to me. I am so exhausted, so drained and now completely broke. It’s a situation that came so unexpected and no one was prepared and all those medical bills drained the whole family’s bank accounts. And now I can’t take care of myself. I seems like i just can’t take a breath. Diagnosis, this horrifying experience, then her passing away, then finishing my thesis, then struggling so much financially. I can’t do all of this anymore. I don’t know how to support myself until I find a job and I don’t know how to do all of this without my mom. My dad is struggling so much aswell. Financially but also mentally. I don’t recognise him anymore.
Does anyone have any advice? Any nice words? How do you cope with all of this? Oh financial advise is probably not helpful since I am not from the US. I already asked for the financial help my country offers and I was denied because i am a student.

I like to batch cook to save money. Maybe cook a couple of things on a Sunday arvo with a beer. But you end up with loads of containers, which is expensive, and also takes up a lot of freezer space/cupboard space when not in use, as it's rare you'll find a container the perfect size for what you are freezing, so they are usually way bigger than they need to be.
What I do now?
I have a few containers. I freeze my food in batches (usually 4 - 6 containers worth.
Once they're frozen, I take them out of the freezer, leave them for 5 mins to warm a little.
Now, turn them upside down, gently push down on the base til the frozen food drops onto the lid in a solid frozen lump. You can now put this portion into a freezer bag, or alfoil, or baking paper, or cling wrap, label it, and stack it neatly back in the freezer.
You now need less containers, and it will save you loads of room in the freezer as these portions are only as big as they need to be - there is no wasted space.
I make labels from old cardboard from coke can boxes. Hole punch one end, and tie with string. You can reuse the labels too, as I find I often make the same things (pasta, chill, stews, Currys, shepherds pie etc)
It's a nice feeling when you have 15 or more meals in the freezer ready to go.
Just remember when you want to defrost, to unbag it and put it into the container you froze it in. It's hard to get it all out of a plastic bag once it has defrosted.

Hello! I'll start by describing myself a bit:
I'm 28, between 5'7" and 5'8" and have short brown hair and eyes, I'm unsure of my weight but I wouldn't consider myself either fat nor slim, somewhere in between, hoping to be closer to the slim side by the end of the year!
My main hobby is gaming but I also love music of most genres and enjoy live music (most recently I've seen Bullet For My Valentine and Post Malone), I enjoy exercising when I can, spending time with friends and family and watching TV, Anime and streamers/youtube! (I also make YouTube videos sometimes and stream even less frequently, partly due to anxiety but mostly because I prefer gaming with people and I don't get that opportunity as much as I'd like these days.) I also write music (rap as I'm not the best singer) but also not particularly well haha. Oh and thought I should add, I do smoke weed. No other drugs, no alcohol other than special occasions and even then it's not guaranteed and no tobacco. I don't care if you smoke or drink but for me it helps me with pain and helps me relax and sleep, hopefully you're okay with that! Though I feel it's worth mentioning, I am more than happy to go without and am actually consider keeping it solely to bed time.
I struggle with some health stuff sometimes, I have Fibromyalgia and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos which can be a pain (quite literally!) And on top of that, I'm pretty anxious, likely due to childhood trauma and have some ptsd stuff that occasionally causes me some issues.. But this anxiety has essentially stopped me from having a relationship, they've always made me anxious so I've just avoided it but I definitely feel like I've missed out in that department.. I've never been on a date or had a serious relationship, I had a short (3 month) relationship when I was younger but it definitely wasn't serious. By extention of this I feel it's worth noting that I've also never had sex. I've kissed people before but not much more than that. Also due to anxiety haha, such a cool aspect of life! 😂
Ideally I'm looking for someone I can be friends with first and build a relationship with, I feel like friendship is an important foundation in a relationship, after all. I'd prefer someone in London (the closer the better considering my conditions) and although I know looks aren't everything, I definitely feel like being attracted to a partner is fairly important. I'm happy to pic exchange early on, though I very rarely take serious pictures so expect me to be pulling a stupid face 😄

I'm a PC, PS5 and Switch gamer and regularly play multiple FPS (valorant/overwatch etc..) but I also enjoy other games ranging from Rocket League to Pokémon to horror games and so on, absolutely not necessary that you game, though!

My Opinion/Summary:
The only season where there was actually only one contestant making it to the end, due to pretty strict judging from Matsumoto. Also the season with the highest amount of helpers. The regular cast is good (Jimmy laughing at absolute nonsense is pretty funny). The Chinese parlor skit with Jimmy and Hollywood included is also really funny (even if it is a repeated routine), to me it feels like a "passing of the torch" from the more experimental "newer" era of Documental to a more established (with a touch of formulaic) Documental. It's tricky to rate because the regulars (especially as zombies) do very well and it's interesting to see a "one man left standing" situation finally happen, but I personally think the group dynamic in this season is a bit weak, and I just don't care for a lot of the non-regular cast, especially Yamauchi getting laughs by licking toes.

My Opinion/Summary:
The season known for having a large amount of female contestants, who ally for some pretty great improv routines. The Yuriyan / Tomochika alliance works pretty great, and Matsumoto is entirely right to say it would have been ok if Tomochika won too. I suspect that a lot of people really like this season, given how popular Joshimental is, but for me the non-female cast is weak. Especially the regulars: this is probably Jimmy's weakest season, and Fujimoto, as much as I like him, isn't really as good this season or the seasons after as he was in the classic era (I guess this is after the divorce, and after he changes his hairstyle to the horrible bangs he has now). Like Season 5, a bit of mixed bag for me.

My Opinion/Summary:
I suspect a lot of people dislike this season because of Kato (and Seiya, as per a commenter in the last thread) getting away with laughing and take a lot of control. But I actually like this season more than Seasons 5 and 7! I guess the group dynamic reminds me of Season 4. We have a lot of fresh faces, Hollywood is somehow even stronger than he is in Season 5 (this season marks the most dominant performance of a contestant we'll probably ever see: a whopping eleven points), and the mix of contestants just feels right to me (except Hachimitsu doesn't do much). It's probably objectively worse than Seasons 5 and 6, but it just hits the spot for me. Koyabu's face peeling and Miyasako collapsing to his knees in the penultimate minute at Hollywood's gag will always live on in my mind, as will Seiya managing to hold on, asking to let him finish with the Guitar Samurai reading even as he starts laughing, people start pointing, and the siren goes off - Zannen!!!

We have been married for 14 years. She hasnt spoken to me in 2 months. Neither has our daughter. It was my birthday last month. We all live together and see eachother every day. I havent hit/abused any of them. EVER. I screamed and cursed in frustration last we spoke, because of the things they were doing to me. They are walking around the house whispering in my presence, and it gets quiet every time i enter the room. I feel like a monster in my own house. Im just going through the motions waiting to get to bedtime, so i can be unconscious . I ask them both why havent they talked to me. "Well, you havent talked to us either". They leave together, do things, i just go to work for 13 hours and sleep. They sometimes passionately hug in front of me like they havent seen each other for years. "I love you so much !". Im still not being talked to. They go in the bathroom and talk, or whisper. I come from work, no one acknowledges my presence. She comes from work, daughter gets up and hugs her. Before all this I had asked our daughter to watch a movie, tell me how was school. "No. Fine". Meanwhile, she binges entire TV shows with her mother. She takes the blankets in our daughter`s bedroom and sleeps there with her, while i sleep alone. Dont drink from that, your father drank from it. Do put that blanket on you, your father used it. I feel like a leper, but i have no disease. When are not talking she likes to buy herself flowers, just to make me wonder if this is it, and she has someone else. I hear my wife talking to her mother on the phone. Her mom is basically a saint in her mind. I hear bits and pieces. She tells her im a dickhead, dumbass, that i was whining about my legs hurting one week when i came from work, that ive done this and that. Basically painting me a psychopath with stuff taken out of context, or borderline lies. Yeah, i scream and swear, logic and common sense just hits a wall, but what she tells her, isnt me. Her mom probably asks about divorce cause wife then says "yeah, but this asshole will probably try to stall". They talk about how she hasnt enough money to move out right now, and how i am able to move if i want, cause i drive. She says i make more money than her, even though im less educated. I can hear the despise in her voice. She has been using money from our shared account to pay for rent and everything, while she collects money in her private account, from her salary. I dont have access to that. Ask why ? Cause you make more money. In the past 12 years i have paid for 80% of all expenses. Vacations they both went while i worked, lessons for this, lessons for that, new teeth for her, braces for the child, etc. A few years ago she let 6 months go by without talking to me. She has made it clear she hates how i look. She hates my used clothes. I try not to spend money on clothes, we are almost poor, and her vacations arent helping. She "suggested" my pay go into her account, and then she would send me what i need, back. Why ? "Because i will save our money in my account". Fine. All our arguments go nowhere, if i point out something true that doesnt help her argument, then she changes subject. If i follow that new subject to its completion, then go back to what we were talking, she either changes it again, or pretends like she has had enough of this discussion and usually ends in an ultimatum or just pouts. She usually changes the subject until i get angry, at which point she changes the subject to why am i screaming. She has NEVER, during an argument, stopped and said "ok, youre right, its my fault". She will act upset for ever, as ive mentioned above, 6 months is the record. How did i get here ? Going back 14 years ago, our first weeks together, i noticed she would get upset very easily, about the most random pointless things. I tried joking about it, thought it was some sort of game. Nope. I tried avoiding making mistakes. Nope, again, random shit no one would think about at random times. I once said, in our first month together "Cmon, dude". Had to apologise for that. Thats how i started apologising for everything, even stuff i didnt believe in. After a while, i had developed a morbid curiosity, i wanted to see how far she will push me to apologise before something might click in her head that "ok, ive gone too far making this guy feel guilty". It never did. At one point I was apologising for apologising, and she was frustrated that i was doing so much apologising, and maybe i should stop making mistakes. Our daughter would also develop this apologising automatic response as a child. When we dated, she used to ask me to make her sandwiches. How many do you want ? 8. Ok. And no, she didnt eat 8 fucking sandwiches, she just liked to see me comply. She found it cute that i "took care of her", and said thats what a man is supposed to do to a woman. And when i asked what her "duty" was, she would avoid the subject, and try to get angry that i wasnt thankful enough that a woman like her would even look at me, and that i might expect something from her.
Just some things that always bothered me

• She never answers when you call. She will call you back. Asked why. Cause her phone is loud at work. But usually she was alone in an office. And when she stopped working for 6 months, she still did it.
  
• In 14 years she refuses to sleep with me in the same bed. Asked why. Cause i snore. Ok, so we will never sleep together ? Not my problem, solve your snoring.
  
• She always berated me for eating sweets. Thats not healthy ! No,but you smoke. Oh, thats ok, cause i dont smoke a lot, and my type of cigs are less bad. She smokes one pack every 2 days.

• Weird hate towards my family. I have one of the coldest relationships a son can have with a mother. She beat me and never said sorry. But my wife seems to think i was coddled by her, even though i explained exactly what happened. Also wife always had issues with mothers of her previous boyfriends, even breaking up with one that supposedly listened too much to his mom. I was also accused of that a bunch of times, despite the fact i talk to my mom not even once a month, and barely give two shits what she thinks about my life. When that didnt work, she started hating my grandmother, with which i have a better relationship with.
  
• She constantly just "yeets" plans. Got me upset ? I dont care how many resources or planning went into what we were about to do. Fuck you. Make me not upset and maybe i wont waste it all.
  
• Things that can make her upset : Disagreeing with her point-blank. Disagreeing, but expressing only uncertainty whether she might be right. Disagreeing, but agreeing with her reluctantly. Disagreeing, but not agreeing with her enthusiastically enough. And finally, Disagreeing, but not agreeing with her fast enough. These will happen randomly, literally just the way the wind blows at the time. Sometimes you might get lucky and be able to disagree somehow, but never point-blank.
  
• She is fake with others. This is what brought me here. Smiling, giggling, elegant and perky. Always clean, slim and perfectly dressed. Her face of disgust and resentment,only i see. Her screaming. She is very careful not to show it to others. She HATES getting photographed inside the house in her normal clothes, just sitting on the couch or something. We probably have 3-4 pictures inside the house, in plain clothes, in 14 years.
  
• She never point blank asks for things. You need to guess or know what she needs, otherwise she gets upset. She would basically tell you she is leaving work, like she does every day. But that day she expects you to pick her up, for some reason. You need to deduce that from the tone of her voice, which is barely different from the other days she talked to you. You also need to do this quick enough, if she senses any hesitation, its over.
  

I know im done. I hate i forgot so many bad things she did, if only i could remember them all at once, i could leave with a clear head. And i hate that i gave a shit. I hate that i gave precisely the shits i knew i had to give, not to end up here. Dont fuck other women, dont drink, dont throw money out the window. I hate i somehow have become my father, and will have to leave my family. My emotionally abusive family led by a narcissist that has taught our daughter to hate and ignore and hurt others. And our daughter will do that to whatever SO she ends up with, probably blame it on me, cause i was a bad father that left. I hate continuous stupidity. Stupidity that crosses the generation to infect the next generation, just cause the parents couldn't be honest about their own faults. I hate she drained the patience out of me, and now i cant deal with this shit coming from my daughter, and all i can do is scream. I hate she changes the rules of the game just to suit her, when i would have been perfectly willing to comply to whatever game she would have wanted to play, just be consistent. I hate that it that wasnt enough for her. I hate every minute of my life, nothing is worth doing, its all tainted by stupidity, waste and mean-ness. The future isnt worth putting effort in, and the past is just a reminder of where exactly i fucked up. I hate that i dont have the balls to kill myself, and in the years ive thought about it, i havent come any closer to get myself to do it. I hate that i have to end this post, cause it means i go back to the fucking waking nightmare.

I am also open to looking at your list, as there's tons of stuff that interest me asides from what I have listed. However, I am not interested in digital items as I prefer to collect/own games physically if possible.

In 2013 I moved to NYC with big dreams of making it somehow, someway, in something. I knew nobody, had no connections, my English was good but not great and I had never before started a company of any kind. Company 1: in 2014 I launched Beyond Neutral it was an organic cold pressed alkaline-forming line of fresh juices (when juicing was a real trend). Our problems were: 1. Saturated market 2. Short shelf life 3. Some were high in sugar 4. Needed refrigeration 5. Pricey Company 2: In 2015 we pivoted to Shotco. A line of organic shots. Meant to be taken at different times of day like a vitamin. These shots solved many of our previous problems but they created one big one. At the time it was only us and maybe 2 other companies, we were going to need to do a lot of consumer education. We raised a 6 figure seed round but ultimately after 2+ years we shut down the company. Company 3: 4 Months before Covid hit I had this idea to eliminate single use cups in coffee shops. The idea was a cup that would connect to an app, you would pre order your coffee, and the barista could scan and make your desired cup. I raised a small pre seed of 50k, found a manufacturer in China but right then Covid hit and we hit a wall. Our biggest issue was that coffee shops would not under any circumstance accept cups from outside and China was a big issue as well. Bye Bye coffee business. Company 4: This was more of a little side project, Lettair was a way to write someone a letter online and we would create and mail the actual thing on your behalf. Bad idea, bad execution, I shut it down pretty quickly. Company 5: 2021: Wilde,r a marketplace for booking outdoor guides. This was crazy, I managed to get a decent amount of hype with people who wanted to join the company, people who wanted to invest and I was able to create a waitlist of a few hundred ppl before we even launched. however within a few months (as we were building) my cofounder left unexpectedly (family issues was the official story) and after that, everything kinda dissolved fairly quickly within a couple of months. The momentum, the hype, the inertia, all gone. Company 6: 2023, I reconnected with a childhood friend who I hadn’t talked to in a long time. We had a long conversation and at the end decided to both make a list of potential ideas we would like to work on. Which is how The Woof was born. While it's still early we are both really into it, enjoying what we are doing, enjoying working together and solving problems and learning how we grow & scale. So far we are happy with our progress and hope we can hit our end year goal. Conclusion: While I still do not have that fairytale ending (yet) I never let my failures dissuade me from trying again, learning my lessons, and improving. Don't listen to all the overnight success stories you see on social media they are either lies or outliers. Most of the entrepreneurs I know and have chatted with have taken the long hard road. If you fail 3 times, you get up 4 times. Don't let the fact that it didn’t go your way today, stop you from trying tomorrow, that's it.

Anyway, I am 25 years old, and I am studying medicine. I work part time as an uber eats driver. This is going to be a long post.
Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies are similar to most people, and we don't have to share the same hobbies or interests. - Movies and TV (Sci-fi, horror, and crime) - Exercising, especially running - Food (Thai, Mediterranean, and Indian) - Reading - Boardgames and videogames - Nature-y stuff. Walking outside. - Music (Instrumental, orchestral, and rap). I listen to songs from each genre. - Investing
I want to pickup more hobbies and interests. I would like to learn how to play the piano and violin. I want to learn a new language. I want to do outdoor activities such as hiking and maybe even camping. I have always wanted to learn video effects. It's great if you do one or multiple of these things, so I can learn or participate too. We can pickup a joint hobby too. However, I am a homebody, but I do want to try new things. Hence, I would describe myself as reserved, calm, but adventurous.

• I have no physical requirements because I like people of all sizes and shapes. My tastes vary. However, I do want someone who is healthy. I believe romance and intimacy are vital to a relationship, so I am drawn to physical affection. I love food, so that is one way to get to my heart. I want an open and an understanding partner. I want to know each other well and to be comfortable in silence when we are around each other.
  
• Physical Description: I am 5' 7" ~ ish. I have short black hair right now, but I am looking to grow it out again. My skin is light caramel, and I have dark brown eyes. My body is slim to average, but I would like to think I am fit. I enjoy running, and I like lifting too. I workout at home since I do not have a gym membership. I might sport some stubble, but I am usually clean shaven. My clothing style is atrocious. I usually wear shorts and a shirt. I need to improve my clothing game.
  
• Religion & Politics: I like to call myself a non-resistant nonbeliever, which is similar to agnosticism. I attended a Christian church when I was younger, and my undergraduate school was Catholic. My parents practice Hinduism, so I have some exposure to religion. I am open to anyone regardless of religious affiliation, and I would definitely like to learn. The same applies to politics. I think it is important to be challenged and to grow as a result. It's hard to pinpoint my political stance, but it is neither conservative nor democratic. My political ideology is always evolving. I do not believe your political views should be a cause for exclusion.
  
• Matrimony & Kids: I envision a meaningful connection that is built on the premise of transcending the confines of societal expectations of matrimony and children, for I firmly believe that true love and commitment cannot be reduced to a legal contract or the obligation of raising offspring. I do not see myself getting married. While some people might find it strange, I believe that a strong and meaningful relationship doesn't require a matrimony certificate. I prefer to focus on building a connection with someone without the added pressure and expectations of matrimony. I also do not want kids. I value my time, and I would prefer to focus on my partner. If anything, I'd consider adoption, but I'm leaning towards no kids. This subreddit doesn't allow the use of the word m a r r i a g e.

Once upon a time, in the magical kingdom of Thelastone, a newly crowned king and queen were besieged.

The fortress Caer Espin was old, and its walls stood strong. But the people were unaccustomed to war. Neighbors on every side were less than friendly, but very rarely did the ancient rivalries flare up.
​
Legends tell of a hero, a man of unmatched strength and wisdom, who would appear when Thelastone faced its most dire threats. Stories passed down by kings spoke of a silver tipped horn which could be used to summon the hero.
​
The king, an elf (for many creatures called Thelastone home), feared for his people and his life. Horn in hand, he climbed the tallest tower and blew a mighty blast. But only the softest of notes came forth, and vanished in the wind. The king waited, but the enemy’s fires were undimmed, and their banners did not lower. Dejected, he joined his queen and retired to their bedchamber.

There waiting was a man. Humans had not visited these realms for millennia, the last being driven out in ancient war. This man stood tall, clad in silvery mithril armor and armed with a sword on his hip and a dagger on his thigh. Platemail and chainmail, not bulky but slim, woven together in a fashion lost to Thelastone with the humans themselves. His face was clean shaven and his features sharp, and his head unadorned.

Alarmed, the king called for his guards. They rushed in and attacked the intruder. In a blink of an eye, they had been disarmed and pushed back. The man had not taken a single step. It was then the king noticed the crest of Thelastone on the man’s armor, below the personal crest of a king.
​
He introduced himself to the astonished king and queen. He is a great king of Thelastone of ancient days, the last of twelve great kings, lord of the realm, and master of Caer Espin. He heard the horn, and had arrived to lead them to victory.
​
The crowned king wept with joy at this news. Together they made plans, and the very next day the great king appeared to the troops, organized them into an army, and drove back the invaders. But the war was not over. The enemy was still gathering their forces at Caer Tresiv, beyond the border of Thelastone.
​
The great king was not concerned. He had fought this nation many times, and knew all their tactics. He knew when they would charge and where they would ambush, and how they would surrender. A simple strategy, one he had used dozens of times before, would be enough to win the war with few casualties.
​
It would take a week to prepare their counterattack. In that time lay an annual banquet, a tradition as old as the fortress itself. “Do it”, the great king said, “It will be good for morale”. So the banquet went on as scheduled.
​
While both the banquet and the counterattack were being planned, the great king joined the crowned king in the courtyard. Surrounded by statues of kings past, they sparred together. The great king slowed his movements and explained his motions as best as the crowned king could understand. He told him to wield his sword and attack with all his might. The crowned king fought with the skill of a seasoned swordsman, but the great king defended himself easily. He bested his opponent without ever moving his feet. The crowned king thanked him and took to heart what he learned.
​
But during a planning session, the crowned king was humbled. As the great king was explaining their path to Caer Tresiv, the crowned king made an adjustment. With the great king’s expertise, he said, it would be trivial to attack head on rather than from the side. To beat a superior force without sneaking around the mountain would both reduce the cost of supplies and instill fear in the enemy for generations to come.
​
The great king scowled, and turned to face him. “I win every battle because I only fight the battles I can win. You are the crowned king, and you rule these lands in the name of your fathers and kings before you. But I am the great king, lord of Thelastone, master of all who live in my realm. I am the final authority while I stand in my kingdom.” With this the crowned king raged for a moment, and nearly ordered his guards to subdue the great king. But the guards would have refused. The crowned king came to himself and trembled, and bowed to the great king. The great king accepted his apology and held no ill will from the crowned king’s challenge.
​
The night of the ball came. The great king, despite his rebuke earlier, declined the king’s seat at the head of the table and chose a simple chair at his side. With music and dancing and all manner of food, only slightly diminished with preparations for the war, the merrymaking lasted long into the night. The great king joined the dancers, and every maiden clamored for his hand as he showed them elegant dances from the founding of the kingdom.

But the great king was saddened by something. He would sometimes ask if they had a dish they had never heard of, or stare at a wall and explain a tapestry describing a battle was missing. The night wore on, and eventually the great king wandered into the moonlight courtyard. The crowned king followed him.
​
The twelve statues surrounded them with dull, weathered stone. They had been magnificent once, the great king explained. Twelve statues, each wielding a golden crown and a silver sword. Those had been sold long ago, and now the crumbling stone was all that remained of the twelve great kings of Thelastone. With a start, the crowned king realized they were standing in front of the statue of the great king himself.

The great king was lost in thought for some time. Go back inside, he said. He would stand for a moment more. The crowned king rejoined the ball. After some time he looked for the great king. But he was not at the banquet, nor was he in the courtyard.
​
Silently, the great king moved through the bowels of Caer Espin. Dusty passageways long since forgotten led to a secret room. Torches burst into blue flames at his entrance. Across one wall were suits of silvery armor, with the great king’s crest just visible under millennia of dust. The other walls held weapons and multicolored vials and bookcases full of secrets, all standing in order. But the great king ignored all of these and opened an ornate cabinet. He withdrew a single, shining gem and turned back the way he came. The room closed behind him forever.

The day of the battle came. The grand army of Thelastone, with both kings at its head, marched on Caer Tresiv with great resolve. The first line of defense met them in the field. Archers rained arrows on the enemy ranks, and when enemy cavalry responded, pikemen appeared from the bushes and broke their charge. Swordsmen rushed at the enemy ranks, and ballistas battered the enemy from the hills. The first line of defense collapsed, and the Thelastone army followed the routing troops to Caer Tresiv itself.

It was here the great king flung himself into the melee. His horse was felled by an arrow, and he jumped to the ground. He strode through the enemy ranks as if through a garden, and only the flashing of his sword suggested he was in combat.

The catapults had focused on the cavalry charge, but now they could not fire without hitting their own troops. Too late, they noticed the archers creeping up to the south wall and notching their arrows. Volley after volley cleared the walls of defenders. Infantry rushed forward with hooks and ladders.

The crowned king pushed on, lamenting that the great king had left him so early. He and his troops reached the main gate and the courtyard beyond, where bodies of the great king’s enemies still bled. But the great king was nowhere to be found.

The great king had left the courtyard. Only a few defenders remained there, and the Thelastonian horsemen could take care of those. Someone had closed the gate, but it mattered little. If the crowned king had followed orders, and if the defenders neglected the south wall like they always did, infantry would be climbing the walls and entering the outer ring. He entered the keep unnoticed and climbed the stairs to the great hall.

I’m a 33 year old male with no job living at home. I’ve suffered with mental illness my entire life. I have a criminal record because of it. Not to mention I hate my appearance I’m 5’7, have crooked teeth, a small penis and I’m possibly balding as well as being fat. I am far from a catch for any woman. I have no friends. I’m also scarred from self harm and have stretch marks from my weight and I’m missing a tooth due to neglect of myself. My jaw is misaligned as well resulting in me having difficulties.
I’ve read studies that taller men get more money, and tend to be seen as more powerful and wealthy. I’ve read studies that basically prove women statistically don’t want me. The only good things I have going for me are that I’m funny, somewhat intelligent and somewhat handsome and I consider myself a genuinely kind person. I look for all ways to help people. I’m working on being a volunteer firefighter and I’ve worked in the past as a crisis counselor. But I know this world has plenty of kind people. Nothing I’m doing is anymore special than someone without my short comings . I hate everything about myself, I’ve compared my penis size to porn, both professional and amateur.
But I even feel like I’m just blowing smoke up my own ass. I’m making attempts to better myself by going to college and taking it seriously this time. I’ve contemplated suicide for the longest time, I attempted to swallow pills and die and it didn’t work out. I for some reason cling to the hope that things will get better. The first step toward making this vision a reality over the coming months is to stand up an effort in the U.S. government to develop the diplomatic track. An entire new U.S. military command element, the Security Assistance Group–Ukraine, has been devoted to the aid and training mission, which is led by a three-star general with a staff of 300. Yet there is not a single official in the U.S. government whose full-time job is conflict diplomacy. Biden should appoint one, perhaps a special presidential envoy who can engage beyond ministries of foreign affairs, which have been sidelined in this crisis in nearly all relevant capitals. Next, the United States should begin informal discussions with Ukraine and among allies in the G-7 and NATO about the endgame.
In parallel, the United States should consider establishing a regular channel of communication regarding the war that includes Ukraine, U.S. allies, and Russia. This channel would not initially be aimed at achieving a cease-fire. Instead, it would allow participants to interact continually, instead of in one-off encounters, akin to the contact group model used during the Balkan wars, when an informal grouping of representatives from key states and international institutions met regularly. Such discussions should begin out of the public eye, as did initial U.S. contacts with Iran on the nuclear deal, signed in 2015.
These efforts might well fail to lead to an agreement. The odds of success are slim—and even if negotiations did produce a deal, no one would leave fully satisfied. The Korean armistice was certainly not seen as a triumph of U.S. foreign policy at the time it was signed: after all, the American public had grown accustomed to absolute victories, not bloody wars without clear resolution. But in the nearly 70 years since, there has not been another outbreak of war on the peninsula. Meanwhile, South Korea emerged from the devastation of the 1950s to become an economic powerhouse and eventually a thriving democracy. A postwar Ukraine that is similarly prosperous and democratic with a strong Western commitment to its security would represent a genuine strategic victory.
An endgame premised on an armistice would leave Ukraine—at least temporarily—without all its territory. But the country would have the opportunity to recover economically, and the death and destruction would end. It would remain locked in a conflict with Russia over the areas occupied by Moscow, but that conflict would play out in the political, cultural, and economic domains, where, with Western support, Ukraine would have advantages. The successful reunification of Germany, in 1990, another country divided by terms of peace, demonstrates that focusing on nonmilitary elements of the contestation can produce results. Meanwhile, a Russian-Ukrainian armistice would also not end the West’s confrontation with Russia, but the risks of a direct military clash would decrease dramatically, and the global consequences of the war would be mitigated.
Many commentators will continue to insist that this war must be decided only on the battlefield. But that view discounts how the war’s structural realities are unlikely to change even if the frontline shifts, an outcome that itself is far from guaranteed. The United States and its allies should be capable of helping Ukraine simultaneously on the battlefield and at the negotiating table. Now is the time to start.

The literature on war termination suggests that such perceptions can lead to protracted conflict. Our analysis suggests that this debate is too narrowly focused on one dimension of the war’s trajectory. Territorial control, although immensely important to Ukraine, is not the most important dimension of the war’s future for the United States. We conclude that, in addition to averting possible escalation to a Russia-NATO war or Russian nuclear use, avoiding a long war is also a higher priority for the United States than facilitating significantly more Ukrainian territorial control. Furthermore, the U.S. ability to micromanage where the line is ultimately drawn is highly constrained since the U.S. military is not directly involved in the fighting. Enabling Ukraine’s territorial control is also far from the only instrument available to the United States to affect the trajectory of the war. We have highlighted several other tools—potentially more potent ones—that Washington can use to steer the war toward a trajectory that better promotes U.S. interests. Whereas the United States cannot determine the territorial outcome of the war directly, it will have direct control over these policies.

In an op-ed in The New York Times in May, Biden wrote that U.S. military assistance to Ukraine was intended to put the country’s leaders in “in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table.” Quoting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he wrote that “ultimately this war ‘will only definitively end through diplomacy.’” Five months later, that diplomacy has yet to materialize—a fact for which Russia bears primary responsibility.
But the United States could be doing more to enable diplomacy. As Ukraine has gained the upper hand on the battlefield, Washington has coalesced around the view that it should let the war play out because escalation risks can be managed, Ukraine will keep winning, and Russia will eventually be forced to accept defeat. Western military support should continue, in this view, so that Ukraine can take back its territory and frustrate Russia’s annexation efforts. The United States should not reward Putin’s nuclear saber rattling by backing down or by pressuring the parties to negotiate. No give-and-take is necessary. Russia can either accept the terms laid out by the G-7 now or it can accept them once it has been defeated on the battlefield.
It is possible that this optimistic scenario will come to pass. But the assumptions underlying it are questionable. And if they prove wrong, the result will be at best a protracted conflict and at worst a catastrophic escalation. Laying the groundwork for eventual negotiations could reduce the risk of these dangerous outcomes.
That doesn’t mean that Washington should seek to launch direct talks today. The parties are not yet ready. But the United States can do more to create the conditions for eventual negotiations to succeed. For instance, Washington could begin discussions with its allies and Ukraine about the need for all parties to demonstrate openness to the prospect of eventual talks, and to moderate public expectations of a decisive victory. The Biden administration could work with these partners to develop shared language to that effect and feature it more prominently in official statements. Making “this war will only definitively end through diplomacy” as much of a mantra as “supporting the Ukrainians for as long as it takes”—and emphasizing that one does not contradict the other—could help begin to change the narrative.
The United States can also make clear that a negotiated settlement would not be an act of capitulation. The G-7 statement anticipates an outcome—effectively, total Russian surrender—that seems highly implausible. Diplomacy, by definition, will entail some give-and-take, so it is important to be vague about the terms of a possible settlement at this stage.
Finally, the Biden administration should consider keeping all lines of communication with Moscow open, from the president on down, both to signal openness to an eventual negotiated end to the war and to have channels in place to facilitate peace talks when the time is right. There is no guarantee that these steps would lead to peace any time soon. But they could mitigate the risks of dramatic escalation and indefinite war. Letting the conflict play out may seem like a wise decision. But a negotiated outcome—still the Biden administration’s stated goal—will likely remain elusive unless it lays the groundwork for one now.

So, I bought an Xbox 360 slim 4g edition yesterday and 5 games(Dragons Dogma:Dark Arisen, Borderlands GOTY, Fallout 3 GOTY, and Rage: Anarchy Edition). So I assume everything is good, get it home, set it up.....and can't set it up as there was no Internal memory whatsoever, so I couldnt download or create an Xbox profile, therefore I couldn't play any games. Obviously not happy with this I called my retro game store and they did the right thing, I'll give them that,but I still had problems afterwards lol. So they give me a 120 gb Xbox 360 slim model to replace it, a free game (Oblivion Goty), and $20 in store credit (which I used to buy Dark Souls 2:Scholar of the first Sin,Dead Island Goty, and Tiger woods Golf 2010). So far so great, I'm happy as hell cause I basically just got a 120 gb hard drive for free and 4 games for free on top. So I get home, hook it up and create a profile(which works), then the wifi adapter they gave me shit the bed, so I can't access the Internet atm. But idc, I'll buy a wireless adapter next week, I can still play most games without it. I'm just happy I finally got an Xbox that works and I can blissfully zone out on some Borderlands for a few hours (though admittedly I do own Borderlands 2,3, and pre-sequel on PC, I was missing the first one).

I love to cook and learn new things. For Father’s Day my wife gave me the go ahead /budget to try something i wouldn’t normally try.
I have no clue what to do.
I’ve got most of the go to culinary gadgets (kettle grill, Webber gas grill, traeger pellet grill, air fryer, deep fryer, sous vide, etc) so I feel like I can attempt a lot.
