2023.06.03 07:15 ExtraWoodpecker8602 Half vent/half proud of what Iâve done
So, obvious throwaway account - cause Iâm fairly certain my wife may stalk some of the reddits I subscribe to on my main account.
Some history to begin - M39 - I got read the riot act from the doctor late last year. Scales tipped in at 199kg - 438 pounds⌠Iâm not wanting to ever condone the way we lived and behaved during the time before vaccinations, but covid isolation policies in Australia, newborn just before covid blew up and all the challenges of sleep deprivation combined with WFH in a very stressful job and the convenience of Uber eats made my weight skyrocket.
Anyway, doctor tore strips off me, I buried it, as I always do with these things. Iâm male, itâs what we do.
I would take my child to activities on the weekends, important life skills that I feel are vital for children to learn given how dangerous things are now. Anyway, it was also a gym. So, I signed up and started. For context I did all this stuff 12 years or so ago, got down to a weight where I did obstacle racing with friends - running 20k a day and loving life. Met my wife when I was at my peak and my nights rapidly changed from worshipping at the iron church to worshipping the idiot box or playing computer games. Pissed at myself for that.
Anyway, I started at the gym, I got checked out, all those things in March, Iâd lost 6kg - so down to 193kg - the joys of catching covid - apart from the side effects of it, its a great way to cut weight /sarcasm - but still a long way to go considering how far I need to go.
My trainer, was supportive. He said for the first week all he wanted me to do is show up, spend 5 minutes on the treadmill and go home. By the end of that week, I was doing 20-30 minutes - the briefest flicker of what I missed had come back to me. The second week, we got into food prep, and weights - foundational stuff to get me back into the groove - nothing heavy, nothing complex, just tighten the up the ligaments and make sure everything would handle what would come over the next couple of months. I threw myself into it each night, after the family were sorted out for the evening, Iâd spend an hour to start off with in my church.
I then had to travel for work - itâs not uncommon, but put a distinct damper on what I wanted to do. I bought a blender, packed it in my stuff and went away for work for a couple of weeks. I ended up signing up to a gym where I was - I spent my days at work, my evenings with my team members and the late evenings/very early in the morning (till 12.30-1am) in the gym each night. My food prep stuff was changed to allow me to do it relatively low effort - a couple of smoothies, packed with fruit/vegetables and one with protein powder and coffee. Iâd go back to my apartment at lunch, make the next one and come back to work - so there was more incidental walking than I expected, anyway, caught gym flu. Whoâd have thought, my calorie intake was so low, plus my expenditure was higher than my body would take, I had managed to grind myself into the ground. I eased off slightly, ate more food - not necessarily better food, but I ate, needed to build up again. By the time I got back I had lost 2kg, I wasnât happy, but anyway, loss is a loss.
Over the course of the next month or so, I lost another few kgs, like 4 or so, but i was living at home again. When I train, I can be a moody, emotional shit, I know this. Iâm like a bear with a sore paw.
This is where the rant comes in - My wife, and her family - arenât exactly the most supportive in this - some never had to exercise in their life, lucky people. I constantly had to hear about it, defend my position - no, I donât want a beer, I donât want lasagne and I should live a little.
My wife on the other hand, has struggled all her life, and apparently itâs easier to just use the credit card and buy McDonaldâs, kfc, multiple times a week at dinner and for lunch at work - then leaves the bags, boxes, etc in clear sight - kitchen bench, coffee table in front of the couch, in the car. Sheâs had weight loss surgery and it helped, but apparently, itâs easier to tap a few buttons on the phone instead of defrost something sheâs made and chucked in the freezer. One of the things I do, at least 3-4 times a week is go around the house and tidy up after her, throwing out empty packets chips, fast food bags. I can feel the support there eh? Nothing like having my willpower tested every few days.
I had it out with her a few weeks ago, told her I couldnât afford this and apparently cause I donât eat with them anymore and my food is so expensive, itâs my fault. To be clear, itâs not cheap, itâs certainly less expensive than Uber eats multiple times a weeks.
We didnât talk for a few days and I went away for work again, so I could cool off. I got to do my meal prep in the apartment again and didnât have to see any takeaway boxes for a few days. Just to be clear - I do not ask her to make my food, and I often make my childâs meals, but the limit of how Iâm helped is her ordering shopping online or may be take something out of the oven.
Whilst this was all happening, I was frustrated as anything. Scales werenât moving, for like 2 weeks, despite how much I was putting in. I got sick as well whilst I was away - so I was like the bear with a sore paw. But, I persisted, and as of this morning, in a single month of persistence, I managed to drop 7.7kg (a sliver under 17 pounds). A proverbial shit tonne of cardio, and workouts anywhere between 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours a night that helps me live in my life that I . And I had to buy all new clothes - I probably should have bought the size lower than I got cause these ones are baggy too - oh well, first world problem right theređ¤Ł
Anyway, my journey so far 199kg to 174.9kg (438 to 385) dropping 24.1kg (53 pounds) through highly regimented cico, being stubborn and working out now I I have that thirst for trying to get back to my best life.
Itâs the start of another month for me - I count my progress on the 3rd of the month, wish me luck đđ

So let's dive in and get started on your path to becoming a DevOps pro! ¡ DevOps certification DevOps certification has become increasingly popular among IT professionals, as it allows them to develop the necessary skills for successful DevOps implementation within their organizations. With the rise of DevOps practices and principles, companies are looking for certified professionals to lead their digital transformation efforts. Obtaining a DevOps certification can not only enhance your career prospects but also help you gain a deeper understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools. Whether you pursue certification from organizations like AWS, Microsoft, or Docker, or opt for vendor-neutral programs like the DevOps Institute's certifications, investing in a DevOps certification is a wise choice that can open doors to new opportunities and higher salaries. By getting certified, you will learn how to collaborate more effectively, automate processes, and deliver quality software faster. This will make you a valuable asset to your organization and give you an edge over your peers in the job market. Additionally, with DevOps becoming more mainstream, it is essential to stay up-to-date with the latest industry-leading practices and trends. In conclusion, investing in a DevOps certification can improve your skills as an IT professional, enhance your career prospects, and provide you with the confidence to lead successful digital transformation initiatives within your organization. ¡ DevOps training DevOps training is becoming increasingly popular among IT professionals, as it provides a comprehensive understanding of DevOps practices and principles. With the right training program, you can learn how to effectively implement and manage DevOps workflows, automate processes, and integrate different tools for seamless collaboration between development and operations teams. A good DevOps training program should cover areas such as agile methodologies, continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure as code, monitoring and logging, security, compliance, and more. Whether you're a beginner looking to get started with DevOps or an experienced professional seeking to enhance your skills, investing in DevOps training ¡ DevOps tools DevOps tools are essential for implementing and managing DevOps practices effectively. There are several tools available in the market that can help you automate processes, monitor systems, ensure security and compliance, and collaborate seamlessly with your team members. Some popular DevOps tools include Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery, Ansible for infrastructure as code automation, Nagios for monitoring and alerting, Docker for containerization, Git for version control, and more. When choosing DevOps tools, it's important to consider factors such as ease of use, scalability, compatibility with your existing systems, pricing, and community support. By selecting the right DevOps tools and integrating them into your workflow, you can streamline your processes, increase efficiency, and improve collaboration between development and operations teams. However, it's important to note that tools alone are not enough - a successful DevOps implementation also requires a cultural shift towards collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation. ¡ DevOps practices DevOps practices are a set of principles and methods aimed at improving collaboration between development and operations teams, streamlining processes, and achieving faster and more reliable software delivery. Some common DevOps practices include continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure as code, automated testing, monitoring and logging, security and compliance, and more. By implementing these practices, organizations can reduce time to market, improve product quality, and enhance customer satisfaction. However, the successful adoption of DevOps practices requires cultural changes and a willingness to embrace new ways of working. With the right mindset and approach, any organization can benefit from DevOps practices. ¡ Continuous integration and deployment Continuous integration and deployment is a key DevOps practice that involves automating the building, testing, and deployment of software changes. By continuously integrating code changes into a shared repository and automatically deploying them to production environments, organizations can deliver high-quality software at a faster pace while reducing errors and downtime. Continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, and CircleCI enable developers to test their code in a consistent environment and receive immediate feedback on any issues. However, successful implementation of continuous integration and deployment requires close collaboration between development and operations teams, as well as robust testing and monitoring processes. ¡ Agile Scrum Master Agile Scrum Master is a methodology used in software development that emphasizes collaboration, flexibility, and customer satisfaction. This approach involves breaking down complex projects into smaller, manageable tasks and working on them in short sprints. The Agile Scrum Master acts as a facilitator between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals and priorities. By embracing the Agile Scrum Master approach, organizations can increase their efficiency, reduce waste, and deliver high-quality software products that meet customer needs. However, the successful adoption of Agile Scrum Master requires a willingness to embrace change and a commitment to continuous improvement, as well as a focus on communication and collaboration across teams. The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in maintaining this focus by facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, and retrospective meetings to ensure that the team stays on track and continuously improves its processes. Embracing an Agile Scrum Master methodology can help organizations stay competitive in an ever-changing market by delivering products that meet customer needs quickly and efficiently. ¡ Infrastructure as code Infrastructure as code is a practice that involves managing and provisioning infrastructure using code files, rather than manual processes. By defining infrastructure configurations in code, organizations can automate the deployment of their infrastructure, improve consistency and reliability, and reduce the risk of errors caused by human intervention. Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef allow engineers to define their infrastructure in a declarative manner and manage it like they would manage software code. However, successful implementation of infrastructure as code requires careful planning, testing, and version control practices to ensure that changes are tracked and managed effectively. By embracing infrastructure as code, organizations can increase their operational efficiency and agility, allowing them to respond quickly to changing business needs. This approach also enables teams to work in a more collaborative manner, reducing silos between infrastructure and development teams and improving overall productivity. While it may require some initial investment in training and tooling, the benefits of implementing infrastructure as code are significant for modern organizations seeking to scale their operations. ¡ Containerization Containerization is a technology that allows developers to package applications and their dependencies into lightweight, portable containers that can run consistently across different environments. Containers provide a way to isolate applications from the underlying infrastructure, making it easier to deploy, scale, and manage them in a consistent manner. By using containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, organizations can achieve greater flexibility and agility in their software development process, enabling them to respond to changing business requirements more quickly. However, containerization also requires careful consideration of security, networking, and storage requirements to ensure that applications are deployed in a secure and scalable manner. By combining infrastructure as code with containerization, organizations can create a powerful approach to managing their IT infrastructure. By defining infrastructure configurations in code files and packaging applications into containers, engineers can achieve a high degree of consistency, reliability, and flexibility in their IT operations. This allows organizations to respond quickly to changing business needs while ensuring that the underlying infrastructure remains secure and scalable at all times. However, it is important for organizations to establish clear guidelines and best practices around version control, testing, and deployment processes to ensure that changes are managed effectively across the entire IT stack. With careful planning and execution, the combination ¡ DevOps Engineer As a DevOps engineer, your role is crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of containerization and infrastructure as code within organizations. 2023.06.03 06:29 dbrobinssdfsdfd How likely is it to unintentionally invalidate the results of a Visual Field test?
Recently during my annual eye checkup, I underwent a visual field test that revealed apparent blind spots in my eyes, which my doctor attributed to glaucoma. However, due to my young age, my doctor decided to re-test me this week to confirm the initial findings.
To my surprise, the results of the second test were completely normal. My doctor expressed satisfaction with the outcome, and everything seemed fine. However, I can't help but worry that I may have unconsciously "cheated" during the second examination. I experienced anxiety during the test and occasionally clicked the response button more than necessary, particularly after a series of rapid and prolonged light sequences.
When I discussed my concerns with my doctor, he assured me that the results account for such factors and dismissed my worries. However, I remain somewhat skeptical because typically the machine emits a sound when lights are presented, and it's possible that I clicked even when I couldn't see the lights.
Could my unintentional actions significantly impact the test results, and should I be worried about this?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

2023.06.03 05:58 vertigorecord [real] (06/02/2023)
I found out that my friend was just diagnosed with cancer. It really disturbs me because this is my second friend in a year who has been diagnosed. Iâm going to support him as much as I can, which means working even harder despite the sweltering heat thatâs rapidly consumed our town over the past few days.
Iâm waiting to receive my tests in about two weeks and I donât have a great feeling, if Iâm honest. I just have a feeling something is wrong. My lymph nodes have been swollen and tender for weeks, and thereâs an obvious lump in the center of my chest. Iâve noticed I canât lift things like I used to. Carrying, for instance, a huge pack of bottled water used to be nothing to me, and now I struggle to lift it at all.
Counting down the days til I get this screening, because it feels like I canât concentrate on much else. I feel so weak and sick all the time. Like a constant flu. I really hope the second half of this year picks up for me and itâs nothing. More than anything I donât want to tell my parents because I donât want to upset them. Iâve already hidden the testing from my mom, which I feel guilty about but I canât let her worry. Fingers crossed that this resolves sooner than later.

2023.06.03 05:39 ThaloGaze My life is hell
Starting over for the umpteenth time
I'll try to make this as short as possible. I was abused in every possible way throughout my childhood. Suffered through an attempted murder in high school. Left the area I grew up in as soon as I turned 18. But I kept getting myself into the wrong crowd. Left my verbally abusive boyfriend of 11 years after graduating from art school. Took a few years after that to finally get to live life on my terms. For nine blissful years things were going well for me. It wasn't perfect. I had some disappointments but I was self-assured. Then I got in a bad crowd again. One guy really bamboozled me. Acted really nice but there were red flags. Separated me from friends and family. Tried to get me to give up my home and move in with him.
He gave out free weed. Set aside a pipe and "special" weed that was only for me. I was constantly sick to my stomach. He kept giving me weird seed like stuff for my stomach aches.
One day his son smoked the special weed while we were out. He got freaked out and said he would have to have a serious talk with his son and not to follow him. I didn't follow him. Later, when I got sick, he came out with those damn seeds again. I innocently asked what was in them. He got defensive. The next day he accused me of accusing him of trying to poison me. I had been dismissing those suspicions for awhile but never said anything. I told him that that was all I needed to hear and bailed. He tried to make up but I wouldn't have it.
So I found myself aged rapidly (which took years to undo) and having cognitive and mental issues that I never had before. He always brought up how he permanently effed himself up in prison by sniffing glue. Whenever I brought my struggles he would go on and on about how there was no hope for me while bringing up how he had no hope himself. After I left him, he sent harassing emails and phone calls. I moved out of state to get away from him. I have not heard from him since and that was years ago.
Now I am still struggling to get back to the person I was. I miss the real me. I think maybe I will never be able to undo the poisoning this POS did to me. I never told my doctor or anyone else because I'm afraid they won't believe me or worse - that I will be committed. Is there a test to check for poisoning? How do I bring this up with my doctor? Or am I better off keeping my mouth shut and continuing to undo the damage on my own?

2023.06.03 05:34 Vbf121423 Abnormal NT scan
Hi! Iâm 35 and I just had my NT scan. Baby measure 6.9 mm for fluids. NIPT is normal. Cvs and amniocentesis is suggested but we are refusing until baby is 16 wk old. We know that these invasive tests can cause miscarriage and we wanted to give the baby a chance to grow. We also are aware that the tests gives us an idea of what it might be rather than pinpointing what it actually is,
Back story-This is our one and only embryo that we transferred for ivf. We did all screenings before transfer. We new my husb has a genetic marker for a translocation (mosaicism) that doesnât affect him at all.
Can anyone relate? Or give me similar stories? Send me hope and encouragement?
Iâm so torn.
Thank you.

2023.06.03 05:18 ChillGuy047 Rules for Walking Alone at Night
You have either decided to test your confidence or you've been forced to do this. You are walking along a sidewalk in a local neighborhood when it's dark out. You are the only one there to your knowledge. But you truly aren't. You are never truly alone. I will guide you on how to survive this with an optimal mental state following this occurrence.
1: You walk along the sidewalk with your hands forming fists when you notice something is balled up in your fist. You open it to find this paper. Don't trust the rules in italics. They are lies and plan to deceive you into your demise. The rules in bold are rewritten by previous survivors. Follow them if you decide to trust the ones before you.
2: If you ever see a car coming from where you are heading, then give the driver a wave. They deserve it after what happened. However, if the car is coming from where you came, then ignore it completely. Try to resist looking back towards it, if you can.
3: If you hear rustling in the trees by you as you walk. Don't look at the fruits. They are fakes.
4: If you see someone walking towards you on the sidewalk you're on, then continue walking and stay the same path.
4a: If that person is faceless, you must acknowledge it's feature.
5: If a car pulls up beside you and stops or slows down, then you must get in continue walking and ignore it.
6: Don't look towards the windows in the houses beside you. They will stare back.
7: Time will not pass until you have made it to your house. A friend's house will be safe.
8: If you find money on the ground as you walk, pick it up.
9: You will eventually notice that there are eyes watching you from the dark. Pay no attention to them. Continue on your way.
10: You have made it to your house. Enter it and relax, knowing that you are safe.
Consequences:
1: If you decide to ignore these rules, you will be possessed by the Watchers.
2: If you fail to greet the oncoming car, you will be far more unlucky in the coming events. If you acknowledge the car coming from behind you, then you will find a book on the sidewalk ahead labeled, "The Visiting." It will help to read it once you're home.
3: If you stare at the fruits, your sanity will drop dramatically, and you will see eyes staring at you from the dark.
4: If you fail to continue on the path, you will be rapidly chased by the figure. If the figure catches you, you will join them.
4a: If you fail to acknowledge it's feature, you will be torn to pieces.
5: If you fail to continue walking, you will be taken and will never be seen again.
6: If they stare back, you will see them in your own home if you manage to survive.
7: If you fail to make it to your home before you go "out". The insane will join them while the dead will be reminders for the next ones.
8: If you **pick up the money, there isn't really any consequence to not picking it up either. It just helps you if you survive or need to bribe savage or feral survivors.
9: If you don't pay attention to the eyes, you will experience such trauma through their gazes that it will drive you insane.
10: You have made it home. If you leave your house late at night again, you will have to suffer through this more.

Chapter 2: In Inertia
In this chapter I took inspiration from a very creative venlil who decided to remain anonymous
---
Memory Transmission Subject: Kos, Venlil Civilian
Date [Standardized Human Time]: July 12 2136
It happened in a fraction of a second.
I was on my ship, traveling FTL in a subspace. I served as a captain of an interplanetary transporter Fertility. On board I carried loads of green fruits destined for a venlil colony where they meant to ripen upon arrival. Now they were exploding from the vacuum.
My very ship was torn into pieces within an instant. There was no time for my brain to process what happened. I braced myself for a slow death. I felt the oxygen leaving my vessel and temperature dropping rapidly. I felt pain in my chest.
Death⌠never came to me. I remain seated in my chair and the pain begun to subside. I watched as inertia took hold of my cockpit, lifting everything around me. The sight was bewildering, but I still donât know why I wasn't suffocating. I released my harness and floated out of the room. Behind the doors was a dark hallway. The power was long gone so I decided to walk straight instead of trying to breach the doors in the darkness. At the end of a hallway, I reached an intersection. Only one of these tunnels had a light at the end, which was the way I chose.
Was this the afterlife? Was I dead, about to meet the creator? I was wondering as I floated through the tunnel. The light was just a reflection of whatâs behind a corner. When I peeked, I saw that the entire vessel was torn in a half. The further corridor was abruptly cut by a precipice. I could even see the generator room that wasnât spared by a sweeping force. I drifted across the ship, awestruck by the surreal scene. It was when I noticed that I had full control over the direction of my floating in inertia, which was against the laws of physics, more akin to out of body experiences.
And so I found myself suspended between two halves of my ship, unable to fathom the reason for this purgatory state. I lived a good life. I wandered out to open space, to try and see my ship in full. I noticed another object lingering close to my ship. It was a wreck of what looks like a space buoy. It collided with my ship, which means I was torn out of subspace before that.
Was that an FTL disruptor? It started working a moment before I passed through it. That was the best theory I could have thought of. I decided to investigate the buoy to test my hypothesis. The hull of the buoy had imprinted lettering in venlang.
MADE ON VENLIL PRIME
The name of my homeworld did not give any answers. I needed to look further. I tried to check behind the hull of my ship and I was met with an immense pain in my paw. It was illuminated by this systemâs star. I pulled my hand behind the hull and hugged it, trying to ease the pain. Even after hiding in the shadow of a shipwreck, the pain was so unbearable, it was clawing on my senses.
I felt tears accumulating around my eyes, they were also affected by inertia, rendering my vision blurry. I returned to my cockpit. There was nothing rational in this place. I just wanted to see my family and friends. Whatever deity rules this universe, I was pleading for their mercy. The void remained indifferent.
When my feelings calmed, I began to think of my crew. They were still on this ship. I went to look for them on the other half of the vessel. Behind the precipice was a maze of corridors. A faint beam of light penetrated through the broken hull at the starboard side of my ship. It means that any illuminated area was off limits. Most of my crewmates must have been ejected, because I only found someone at the stern. It was my FTL engineer, Qualen. He was pale from freezing and suffocating. His eyes were popping out of the sockets, and his mouth expressed a pure terror. I wondered where his soul could go, or be. Maybe he didnât die yet. Perhaps I was the first to die, and time passed unbearably slowly for the rest.
I returned to my cockpit resigned. I decided to wait for something to happen or to think of some bright idea. None of it ever came. I only noticed more anomalies. The objects that floated in inertia were now frozen in time. Even Qualenâs body wasnât moving across the corridor. I started experimenting with the new laws. I threw an object and watched as its momentum was decelerating. Everything was trying to reach the frozen-in-time state. A thought came to me, that I am in fact Faster Than Light, and the entire world has come to halt. If that was true, then why was the starlight so painful?
I went exploring the front part of the ship. Despite being engulfed in darkness, the sun was my enemy now. Iâve reached the front sleeping quarters, which were reserved for the highest rank personnel, including captain. Iâve found a journal on a shelf. I returned to the cockpit to use the remaining light to read it. The journal belonged to Vesen, the first officer. I couldnât find her anywhere. Maybe her body was floating in a dark room, or she was engulfed by the rays of the star and I couldnât reach her. Maybe she was ejected and she disappeared forever. I decided she wouldnât mind if I read through her journal.
Most pages contained a standard overview on Fertilityâs state. Fuel, food, water, oxygen, power, crew. In the middle Vesen started writing more personally.
âDay 7 [July 10 2016]
Iâve read thoroughly through the crewmatesâ dossier. There are individuals acting strange. I have seen the rations shrinking slightly faster than in the past 7 days. Even the social meetings were dropped more rarely, or very late. Those are the tiny hints for something bad. There is a predator disease developing on Fertility. I couldn't find it without commissioning a brain scan, so I had to guess based on the dossier.
There was one individual with an uneasy past. The FTL engineer Qualen was caught in a ln arxur invasion on one of the colonies. He barely survived and escaped by hiding in an unexplored by exterminators forest. He was hiding among wild predators, until the arxur took every survivors as a cattle. I am positive that Qualen was afflicted with predator disease after that time, and now he's spreading that behavior among the oblivious crew. In a meantime i must isolate him until we return to Venlil Primeâ
I was shocked after reading this. Qualen had a predator disease? I have known him for many years, he couldn't possibly be dangerous. He was like a brother to me! His name would have been cleared if we ever reached civilization and brain scanned him.
But then again, he was the only other venlil who wasn't ejected from Fertility. Is he the reason I can not rest? It must be, there's literally nothing else on this shipwreck!
I have realized the purpose of this place. Itâs a judgment. The sun was an instrument of execution, like a flamethrower for exterminators. I have to incinerate the body of a predator diseased crewmate before I can finally reach peace. The danger keeps me trapped from eternal rest, I have to burn it! I rushed out of the cockpit and reached the familiar precipice.
And I froze. The frame of the hull on the other side was lit by a star, locking me out of the stern. The rays were slowly traveling towards me. It made no sense! Everything was supposed to be frozen in time, but we are still orbiting around the system! I have returned to a dark hallway to gather my thoughts. I had to cross the precipice and burn the body of Qualen, but to do this I need to walk through hell itself. The alternative was to wait until the sun passes me unnoticed. I could not see any good spot to hide, as the ship was full of reflective surfaces. Both choices are equally risky but I chose the first option. It would be a problem if the chance I had was also time sensitive.
I returned to the great crack and took a good look at the spotlit surface of the corridor. I mimicked taking a deep breath for good luck and launched.
I felt like I was boiled in water, when I dived into the starlight. Whatever I tried to do on my most primal instincts, I was thrown out to square one, and even now the pain did not abandon me. I screamed into the aether, floated erratically, anything to let the endorphins ease my suffering. It took a long time to find relief, and I remembered that I donât possess a body anymore and no natural pain relievers are produced in my brain. The only thing that suffered was my very soul.
When I returned to the precipice, I saw the starlight was already licking on my part of a ship. In no time I will be caught by dawn. I thought of going outside of my ship, while I still could. The reflective interior couldnât be safer than the vast space. But I still could not outrun the starlight. I would be hiding in an umbra of Fertility. If I stray too far, I will be caught in penumbra. More than that, I couldnât expect it, there are no reference points in space.
It was too late to do anything now. There was only one thing to test. The starlight might be an absolution. Maybe if Iâm engulfed in it, I will be able to find the real afterlife. Absolution was not a concept from the venlilian faith, but again I can not think of any religion where the star smolders the soul of the wronged. Whenever I wanted to test it or not, the rays were approaching through the reflective walls of the hallways. I returned to the cockpit to wait for my fate. I thought of just closing the doors, but the electricity could not work and I was in inertia, I had no way to grapple and pull the doors together manually. I could only sit in my seat and wait.
What if thereâs no good ending for me? If the star was an act of extermination of a soul, only a predator hell was awaiting me. Will I suffer for nothing forever? Will the souls of predators eat me until I stop existing? Will they keep eating me until the end of time? Or maybe they acknowledge me as one of them, as I could also have predator disease? Do predators even have souls? I was caught in a stream of thoughts as the starlight was closing in. I launched to the furthest corner, buying as much time as I can. I didnât think the reflections even allowed the light to reach me. It seemed like the starlight was approaching me no matter what. If thatâs the case, wouldnât they reach Qualenâs body as well?
I had to stop that thought, as I was out of time for pondering. I took another nonexistent breath, closed my eyes and tensed all my muscles.
It was impossible to describe the agony I felt at that moment. My impulses forced me out to the center of the room, and my entire body was exposed to the scorching force of the star. My very soul was screaming out of my control and I was torn out of my mind. I lost my vision and heard ringing in my ears from the noise of my own throat.
Soon the blurry vision returned to me, but I was still screaming in pain. Through the pain I saw I was in a completely different room. There was a spotlight above me, and the walls were dim. I was laying on a bed that felt like it was made of cracked concrete. Everything that touched my body and the light itself was painful. Even the ungroomed hair was piercing through my skin. I heard a hum in my head, coming from a translation implant. There was someone in that room speaking an alien language. The figure appeared in my range of vision. It was tall and wearing a coat. It said that the others will come in a quarter of a paw, and that everyone was expecting me for a long time.
It came closer and I felt numbness as I deciphered the face of a blurry figure. It had front-facing eyes! IT WAS A PREDATOR! It truly must be a predator hell! I tried to move, back off, run! But my entire body was heavy. It felt like I hadnât slept in a whole life. All my limbs, tail and neck were completely exhausted! The pain could not mellow either. I was trapped in a painful reality, awaiting to be tortured forever! The monstrum said that I must not worry about anything and allow my body to rest. It finally introduced itself
as a human.

2023.06.03 02:44 itoodislikeit Rapid positive, PCR negative - same person, multiple times & months apart
Wondering if anyone has experience with a similar case to my wife's...
January: Symptoms after exposure. Multiple positive rapid tests (various brands, and I was testing negative with the same boxes) both before and after a PCR, which came back negative.
March: no symptoms (or symptoms indistinguishable from teacher burnout) but 2 of 3 rapids were positive after exposure (and again, I tested negative from the same batch of kits). PCR and rapid administered at a testing site the next day both came back negative.
Since then, my wife and her administrators now believe that her body has a "weird relationship with rapid tests" so she has been discouraged from (and consequently refuses to) take them. Now it's June and her coteacher tested positive yesterday afternoon (after spending the day in meetings together)... wife has no symptoms but "no energy to go out again and find a PCR test," and I'm sort of at a loss.
Is there any universe in which "my body has a weird relationship with COVID" makes sense? Is there an explanation for a person consistently testing positive on rapids with negative PCRs?
My assumption has been that rapid positive means positive + likely infectious, but I haven't found any way to explain this pattern. I am deeply uninterested in catching this virus from her & unsure of how to think about the risk level of sharing space for the next few days, with or without a mask.
Any thoughts? Appreciate you, COVID reddit!

2023.06.03 02:39 HardstuckBronzeRank Am I disabled?
I started playing Valorant a little over a year ago, having had considerable FPS experience in the past (I sucked at all of them). My first rank was Bronze 1, I oscillated between bronze and silver for a bit, but I never really got any better. Eventually I got close to htting level 100 with my rank still in silver, and I quit the game for what I estimate to be around 6 months.
When smurfs come to play in my lobbies, it really bothers me that a lot of them probably aren't even as experienced as I am, but I'm still so much worse than them anyway. After the hiatus I began by playing the odd game here and there, I did my placements once and landed in Iron 3, and made my way up to Bronze. I had this one game where I got flamed pretty badly about how hardstuck I am, I'm not even sure what was so special about it since it's not at all an unusual occurrence for me, but for some reason that game really had an impact on me. I decided to stop going for kills, forget fun, just to focus on protecting or defusing the spike at all costs, to get the wins I needed to get my elo up to where it should be by now. It sort of worked at first. About a week ago I actually hit my peak of gold (at an embarrassing level of 100+ though), but really it was more like touching gold, because almost as soon as I made it, this stopped working and I began a rapid plunge back to bronze, where I am now.
And even here I feel sort of boosted. My K/D is almost always negative, everyone else is just so much faster than me, they can headshot me before I even get a chance to fire. No matter what I do I can't seem to contribute to my team at all, I make so many stupid decisions despite trying really hard not to. And the chokes that would be once in a lifetime embarrassments for most other people happen pretty much every game for me. I recently died to an opponent's Classic (save round) after missing every shot in an entire Vandal mag.
That is to say, I'm almost level 120, but I'm still exceptionally bad at Valorant, I can't even keep up with bronze players. It seems like my raw cognitive abilities are limiting me, this wouldn't be the first time either, I also suck at pretty much every other game because of this and have a lot of difficulties in real life too, everything feels so hard to me. I'm just wondering if there's any way to test whether I have the potential to ever be good at this game, or whether I'm just wasting my time trying, because it seems to me that this goes beyond being bad, that it might be a sign of an actual problem with my brain. There's no reason Bronze players should be able to demolish someone who has invested this much time in the game.

2023.06.03 02:33 GopherDrive Vitamin D Deficiency - A story for all those Googling Symptoms!
For near to a year my life has been on hold⌠itâs been absolute hell at times.
I wanted share my story with anyone who is going through the same thing, in the hope it can help those who have searched the same thing.
Over a year ago, I went through a pretty stressful time in work and my personal life. My life was wake up, work 12 plus hours, home⌠bed and repeat.
Things were going wrong and stress levels high.
I found myself getting emotional more, and as we headed into Autumn, pains in my hi, groin and stomach started occurring.
I started to find sleeping on my side painful and the pain travelling to my testicle⌠what in earth was going on with my body.
I went to the Docs but was told I most likely pulled a muscle.
Alongside this, I wasnât sleeping well and more stress with life endured into the winter.
I began coughing, which went on for weeksâŚ. Followed by enlarged tonsils and a large unsightly puss like spot on my tonsil.
At this stage I started to make the ultimate mistake⌠Googling.
I went to the Docs and was told I had tonsillitis⌠which was a relief⌠but the doctor then wanted to do a stool test when I mentioned I still had pain in my stomach and groinâŚ
The docs call a week later⌠weâve found blood and youâve got H Pyoli âŚ. Great another illness!
More antibiotics later and low and behold both Tonsilitis and H Pyoli returned⌠what the hell was by body doing.
Back onto Google I went. I may as well done a course in becoming a Doctor with the vast amount of reading I done over the months!
Now it doesnât take a rocket scientist to know if you type in âcough, swollen glands, groin pain, blood in pooâ what Google is going to throw back at you.
Weâve seen the adverts⌠cough for over 3 weeks and blood⌠itâs not a good sign.
From then on I become obsessed with googling and checking my body for new symptoms.
Other than Cancer, the other worst things illnesses populated, including HIVâŚ
I wracked my brains, surely not, how, who, when, it shouldnât be possible⌠but I have to know. I hit a low point and tested⌠negative⌠tested againâŚnegativeâŚ.3, 4, 5, 6 times all negative⌠my brain on overdrive⌠each test causing more stress anxiety waiting.
I was also asked to do a bowel cancer test⌠I kept the whole thing to myself and worried in secret not telling friends or family what I was going through.
My mental health was rapidly changing.
Then one night I woke up at 2am⌠in searing pain. Calves tight and cramped, pins and needles in my hands, my feet, my shins. Burning pains in my muscles⌠sweating., my blood felt like it was boiling, and my knees and ankles felt bruised. My body was telling me something and it wasnât good. I wanted to go to A and E, but I felt stupid about going, so rode the pain out.
The pain was unbearable and painkillers were doing nothing for me.
3 weeks passed, with these pains being with me 24:7 and the only rest from it was sleeping. It felt like nerve pains, and the only way to alleviate the pain was though heat or ice on my back or at the source of the pain.
My appetite had gone, I was loosing weight, I couldnât sleep, my tongue was looking odd, my skin was getting bad More symptoms ⌠great
One day it all got too much. The pain grew more intense and I ended up have a full blown melt down and in a panic called the Docs who ordered a blood test.
As I waited for the blood results, Iâd never felt so low⌠had the HIV tests been incorrect⌠how has this happened, how long do I have left, I donât understandâŚitâs impossible⌠but hereâs a another symptom⌠it canât be a Coincidence.
I had no one to talk too for months, how could I even begin to have that conversation with anyone⌠how have I arrived at that conclusion just because Google led me that wayâŚanother set of std testsâŚnegative, but does little to comfort me. The damage is done ⌠thanks brain, thanks Google.
My blood results come backâŚ
The Doctor asked me⌠have you been under a lot of stress.
âYes âI burst out, âI canât been begin to explainâ
Well that explains why your Vitamin D levels are at less than 10% of what it needs!
I never realised how important Vitamin D was to so many things, and I had ploughed along for over a year with essential no Vitamin D, no proper functioning immune system and eventually my body was starting to play up and constantly get ill.
Now I opted to tell the full story here, because Iâm sure people are going through a similar thing of these random pains and wouldnât even think of Vitamin D deficiency and itâs certainly not what Google will Chuck at you.
Iâm two months in to taking very high dosages plus antidepressants and Iâm on the mend⌠hopefully not too much longer.
Please, please donât do what I did. Please see a Doctor, DO NOT GOOGLE!
Googling made my stress 100% worse and it was obsessive. Donât try and play doctor as your two clicks away from the worst illnesses.
Iâm now recovering from Anxiety as well, thanks to vitamin d deficiency and my unhealthy google obsession!

2023.06.03 02:12 Omansurver The second part of the fourth section of a certain super well-made-like-oh-my-god-this-is-so-good literary piece of media that was inspired by a animated piece of media, or the second part of the fourth chapter.
So yeah, second part. I forgot to say the page count last time of this chapter last time, so I'll say it now. Chapter four is about fifty pages long, so it fits the bill when it comes to these things. Not much else to say, so enjoy.

Jacob pondered.
On what exactly? Oh fine, Iâll tell you.
Jacob had just received what was, hopefully, a relatively unfiltered version of the recent events and situation on the planet. After about an hour of explanation, A had finished on the arrival of the disassembly drones, and the subsequent widespread assault on the worker drones. When Jacob had asked for the specific story of Aâs squad, A had skirted around it, only lightly touching upon the subject. It was slightly suspicious, but Jacob didnât plan on doing anything about it.
However, if it was the truth, it only raised more questions than answers. The fact that a company was willing to exterminate the entirety of what was probably a massive investment was just baffling. Jacob could only come up with two explanations, one of which was rather worrying to think about. The first was that of changing times; perhaps the company was so rich, and technology so advanced, that the worker drones could be replaced with the ease of buying another shipload of tissues. If you threw away an entire box of tissues, it would be annoying to say the least, but it wouldnât cost a lot to just get another one.
But, it just didnât make sense to Jacob that that would be the case. The United States military in the time of Jacob had heaps, thousands of missiles, and could afford to replace them as they were used. But if they all disappeared at once? It would take lots of time, money, and effort to replace each and every single last one of the lost payloads, and not to mention the logistical nightmare it would be.
So, that led Jacob to his other solution, one that insinuated a scenario far more confusing and sinister. If the company decided to just annihilate every worker drone, which is a very radical and illogical decision by a galaxy-spanning megacorporation, then it would line up with certain other decisions made by other people in the past.
During the Second World War, the U.S. government was fearful of a potential Japanese invasion. They believed that, if they did land boots on American soil, that the Japanese-Americans would rise up, taking the side of the invaders. And so, Roosevelt made the Executive Order 9066, ordering over one hundred and twenty thousand Japanese-Americans to be interned in concentration camps, where they would remain until near the end of the war.
This was an apt example for how even the most level-headed of individuals could make bad decisions under the influence of fear. If Jacob assumed that the same was true for this day and age, then perhaps the administration at the company had sent machines to kill the entire worker drone populace due some or maybe even all of them being much more dangerous than what was being let on. It was a bit far-fetched, but was the one of the only viable solutions at the moment, aside from his theory that nothing was real and they were all figments of the imagination of a being so complex they were nothing but fiction to it, but the chances of that were little to none.
Right?
Jacobâs pondering was interrupted by someone waving their hand in front of his face.
âUgh, hello?â A snapped his fingers twice. âYou there?â
Jacob blinked, refocusing on his present company. âUh yeah, just processing.â
A scoffed. âProcessing what? I thought humans were superior or something?â
Jacob smacked Aâs hand out of his face. âMe too.â
A raised an LED eyebrow.
âDoesnât matter.â Jacob waved hand in a dismissive way. âWhat now?â
âI dunno. That's all I had.â A shrugged.
âNothing else youâre hiding?â Jacob questioned.
âNo. There isnât.â A glared at Jacob. âNow drop it.â
Jacob held up his hands in surrender. âOkay, jeez man, calm down. I just donât wanna be bored for however long Iâm stuck here.â
âYeah well, that's not really my problem.â A stated.
Jacob didnât reply, only sighing, before standing and getting up out of his seat.
A startled. âWait, where are you going?â
âOut.â Jacob simply replied.
âWhy?â A inquired.
Jacob shrugged. âBored.â
A got to his feet as well. âFine then. I guess Iâm going as well.â
âYouâre coming with?â Jacob asked incredulously.
âYeah. I canât have you running off and getting yourself killed.â A reasoned.
âThey kept saying that too.â Jacob grumbled.
âWho said that?â A tilted his head.
âK and X.â Jacob answered. âAlso, why donât yâall have normal names? Why just letters?â
âI dunno.â A non-committedly replied.
âHuh.â Jacob took that as a cue to leave, turning to the ladder.
A followed closely behind, waiting until Jacob had gone through the small exit to ascend himself.
Jacob didnât bother to use the ladder on the way down, buckling his knees and dropping the last few feet, hearing the snow crunch beneath him. He had been prepared to absorb the impact, but it seemed like whatever advanced mechanics his suit possessed had done the job all by itself, which was pretty nice. He made a mental note to test out the capabilities later on, just to get a general sense of the limits and what would be a danger to him.
Jacob heard a similar crunching noise behind him, causing him to look backwards, seeing A just awkwardly standing there.
âJust gonna follow me? Really?â Jacob was slightly annoyed.
âYeah. Iâve gotta keep you safe until someone else takes you off my hands, or else Iâll-â A cut himself off.
Jacob took note of that, inferring what he might have been about to say. It only served to confirm his notion that he was sort of a VIP on the planet. He was to be protected at all costs, which was pretty nice for Jacob.
âSo, you gonna do anything?â A asked.
* * *
The sound of snow crunching filled the empty room as the pair walked into it.
âCan we go back already?â X complained.
âNo, and be quiet.â K scolded him. âItâs too echoey in this room, itâs annoying.â
X scoffed. âPff, itâs fine. Nobodyâs around for miles, weâre all good. Now when can we go back?â
K rolled her eyes. âWe can go back when we find something, You heard what he said.â
âWhat who said?â X inquired.
âYou idiot, our squad leader!? Our boss that weâve spent who knows how long with!?â K cried out.
âCalm down, just messing around.â X leaned against the wall.
âWhatever, you know what A said. We canât come back until weâve found water.â K reminded X.
âWhy do we even need it? Iâm sure heâll be fine.â X waved off the issue.
âHeâll die.â K deadpanned.
âHe can walk it off.â X waved off the issue again.
âI donât care, just get off the wall, weâve gotta search every building.â K gestured for X to follow.
âHow can we even find anything in here? Everywhere else weâve checked has been empty.â X took his place next to K.
âYou never know, now get to it.â K kicked over a rock, exposing a small marble.
X trotted over to a dented metal counter on one side of the room, peering underneath it.
âNothing here, this is useless.â X whined.
âShut up.â K called out.
X surprisingly obliged, kneeling down and searching the small cabinets that were connected to the counter. After finding nothing but a small skeleton huddled inside one of them, X sighed heavily, before making his way over to a large metal box. It mightâve been taller than him if it wasnât tipped over on its side, with an assortment of power cords snaking out from an outlet on the back of it. Seeing a small handle on the front, X tugged on it, the slight rust giving way to superior strength.
However, Xâs eyes went wide with shock, which changed to glee.
âHey, look what Iâve found!â X called out to K.
Kâs head whipped up, staring at the prize that X was brandishing. âYou found- what is that?â
If the two had any idea what warm food was, they wouldâve recognized the lumpy frozen good that X had in his hands as a perfectly preserved rotisserie chicken. If they had any sort of reheating device, and if they had proper taste buds, they might have been able to enjoy the sweet experience of a Thanksgiving dinner. However, they were ignorant robots who were about as smart as a middle schooler, so the only reaction that they, or at least one of them had, was confusion.
âI dunno, but it says chicken on the side!â X proudly exclaimed.
âWhatâs chicken?â K questioned.
âIâm . . . not sure . . . but Iâm pretty sure it's food.â Xâs LED eyebrows furrowed in thought.
âHow do you know that?â K asked.
âUh, I don't?â X seemed more confused than ecstatic now.
K shook her head. âDid you find anything useful?â
âWell I found this clear thing, but it only says something called âDasaniâ on the side.â X held up a clear plastic bottle, putting his finger in quotation marks when he said it.
âGive me that!â K dashed across the room, snatching the item out of Xâs hands.
âWha- hey!â X tried to grab at it, but K held it out of his reach.
âBack up!â K swatted X in the face, inciting a squawk of surprise.
âI found it first, give it back!â X shot back, tackling K, causing the bottle to roll across the ground.
The two began slugging at each other, scrabbling across the ground for dominance over a goddamn bottle, like a gang of the aforementioned middle schoolers. Nearly crushing the contested item multiple times, the two spent a good thirty seconds duking it out. And after K finally managed to curl into a ball around the bottle, X tried to no avail to recapture his former possession.
âYou motherfu-â X was cut off by a noise from the door that led deeper into the building
The two highly professional disassembly drones shot to their feet, their gazes snapping to the origin of the sound. Standing there was a figure, about the same height as K and X, with familiar black plating and armor, kneeling down to grab a small blue marble that was on the floor. It appears as though the idiot had been trying to be sneaky to avoid capturing the attention of the killer robots, which clearly didnât go as planned.
âUh, hi.â The drone said after a moment of silence.
Even more silence.
The military drone took that as a cue to scoop up the marble, before dashing out of the room.
K and X instantly took chase, with K pocketing the small bottle for later. The military drone wasnât quite fast, but it did make use of its head start well. The unnamed drone disappeared behind the corner, with the pair of disassembly drones right on his heels. However, when K turned around the edge, a bullet tore through the air, finding its home in her head. Completely unprepared, she fell to the ground.
X, contrary to what some might do, didnât stop to assist her, instead just simply vaulting over her body, speeding onward. He was rapidly closing the distance between him and the military drone, when his prey suddenly whipped around with a pistol in its hand. X, unlike his comrade, was prepared for this inevitability, turning to the side and out of the path of the trio of bullets as they flew by him. X followed up on this by diving down onto the hapless drone, trying to skewer it on gleaming metal claws.
The drone didnât have a chance to fight, but unknown to X, he did have time to press the small panic button on its jawline, or where the jawline would be if it was a human. If anyone on this planet was familiar with standard police or even military practice, they would recognize the small button as the useful yet annoying panic button.
For a bit of context, the panic button is usually represented as a small and easy-to-access device that, when activated, sends out an emergency distress signal that would notify the proper authorities of the panic buttonâs location and a dire situation. The panic button is common in the military, police personnel, elderly homes, schools, corporate buildings, apartment buildings, and basically everywhere else that isnât a ghetto.
The drone, however, proved to be much smarter than his predecessors, much to the dismay of X. It dove to the side, dropping down and through a weakened rusty grate. As Xâs claws scraped against the wall, the fleeing drone tossed a metal panel that was blocking the way out to his side, before dashing through the door. X jumped down to the lower floor, before continuing his chase.
A flurry of bullets ripped towards him, but X brought his arm up, letting his forearm absorb the projectiles that hit, and most missed. The drone ran down a comically long flight of stairs, taking three steps at a time. The stairs continued downward, eventually opening up to a basement with a gaping hole in the wall, which led straight into darkness. The drone nearly fell into the hole from the momentum of jumping down the stairs. But, it just managed to skid to a stop at the edge.
X landed at the foot of the stairs, crouching to absorb the impact. Xâs gaze focused on the drone that was pointing the pistol at X, sights drawing a solid bead on his head. However, when it pulled the trigger, it was only met with a slight clicking sound. The drone gaze jerked down to the pistol, then straight back up to X, who was now diving towards it, claws outstretched.
The drone jumped backwards, losing his balance. Its foot slipped off the edge, and while the sudden space between it and X saved its life for the time being, it did have to contend with gravity, which was now pulling on the drone by a considerable amount.
X watched as the drone tumbled down the pit, hitting the sides. However, the sides of the pit were both sloped and slick with a thin sheet of ice, causing the drone to slide down to the bottom. The drone slammed against a large rusty metal pipe, which was a solid indicator of the pitâs identity as a sewer.
The drone scrambled to its feet, caving the skull in of a skeleton that appeared to have been a former inspector when one took into account the corpseâs clipboard and tattered clothes. X slammed down onto the large pipe, causing it to resonate like a gong. The drone snatched up a small length of rusty metal rebar that had impaled itself on the ground, the edge of the steel surprisingly sharp. The drone adopted a fighting stance, pointing the business end towards X.
The robotic predator didnât care, however, just simply stabbing his prey with his own pointy stick, the sharp end of his nanite acid tail. The sharp tool stuck itself in the droneâs shoulder, causing it to drop the bar and curse. X took the opportunity to grip the drone by the head, while digging the claws of his other hand in its chest. X then looked into the opaque black visor of the military drone, before pulling in two opposite directions.
The effects were made known quickly, with the head of the military drone migrating away from its home connected to the body. Oil splashed down onto X, who took the opportunity to feed. X dropped the head, letting it hit the ground with a clang, dropping the body as well.
X stood over the fallen corpse, claws gleaming with oil. K landed next to him, retracting her wings.
âSo you got it?â K asked.
âNo I didnât, he got away. This body right here is just a random pigeon, and youâre just hallucinating.â X replied sarcastically. âAlso, how the hell did you get here so fast?â
K rolled her eyes. âOh, be quiet. Iâm just making sure, because knowing you, you would probably let him go for the funny.â She ignored his latter question.
âWell now that you mention it . . .â X looked sorrowfully at the body.
K punched him in the arm. âWhatever, we gotta go. I seriously doubt that he was alone-â
She was cut off yet again by a loud crash that originated from the hole up on the wall. The duo whipped around, only to see several guns pointed straight at them.
âSup.â X nodded at the intruders.

The sound of conversation could be audibly heard from the lit tent.
The tent had been designated as the de facto headquarters for the former facility personnel, with a smaller offshoot serving as a meeting room for the leadership. The offshoot tent in question was currently being used for its purpose, with an emergency meeting being called. Not because of the discovery of a dead body, but for a different matter entirely.
âCan anyone at least tell me how this happened?â The Lead Engineer leaned on the table.
One of the data officers stepped forward. âWe believe that when we were evacuating the facility, an error occurred that declassified the file.â They answered.
âAn error did this.â The General wasnât convinced.
âWell, yes. The computers had been degrading for a while now, and we had noticed that several of our autonomous programs were misbehaving, or just outright not working at all.â The data officer replied.
âAnd we did nothing about this?â The General glared at the trio of data officers that had joined them.
âWe actually were doing all we could, but we didnât have the materials to make a complete fix.â The Lead Engineer interjected.
âWhy didnât you tell me then!?â The General exclaimed.
âI did. You probably just forgot again.â The Lead Engineer suggested.
âWhat? I have the best memory here.â The General puffed out his chest proudly.
âAlright then, what were we just talking about?â The Lead Engineer inquired.
The General frowned. âWe were talking?â
The Lead Engineer facepalmed. âGoddamn idiot.â
One of the data officers stepped up. âUh, sir? There is still the matter of the ones who discovered the information.â
âOh yeah, uh, dump them off the eastern bridge.â The Lead Engineer waved off the issue.
With a simple nod, the data officers left, accompanied by a few guards as well. The Lead Engineer sat back in his chair, before steepling his fingers on the desk. He looked back and forth between the assembled leadership, before the General spoke up.
âSo, are we gonna continue or what?â He crossed his arms.
âYes, sorry.â The Lead Engineer motioned to one of his ministers. âYou take the lead, Kane.â
Kane got up, walking to the front of the tent, dragging a projector on a cart with him. When he arrived, he pulled down the white screen, securing the hook on a latch on the bottom. He then adjusted the cart, facing the lens towards the screen. He then attached a laptop to the projector, pressing a few buttons and fiddling with a few switches, cursing once. Finally, the projector flickered to life, shining an image onto the screen.
Kane cleared his throat. âAhem, so. What you are seeing here is the first page of the document in question. As you can see here, it appears to be warning against a drone viewing whatever the contents of this file is.â Kane flicked to the next slide. âIt continues to vehemently express this multiple times, not really differing in its warning at all.â
One of the military ministers, Alicia, raised her hand. âUh, question?â
Kane paused. âWhat is it?â
âIts warning against drones? She asked.
âYes, it is. Iâll explain this later on, so save your questions for the end please.â Kane looked back to the projection, skipping through the slides until he landed on the first one without a warning.
âAh, here we go. So, as you can see here, this appears to be a logo for JCJenson-'' Kane was interrupted by a faint, âIn Spaaaaacee!â from an unknown source. âUh, anyway, as all of you know, JCJenson was the company that owned this planet, and the one that provided the drones that the government were using in their facility, which was us.â Kane flicked to the next slide.
âHere we can see a title for a project, along with several bits of accompanying information, like locations, associates, page number, references, you get the picture.â Kane then produced a long ruler from what seemed like thin air, before pointing the end at one of the words. âPay attention to this one here âAbsoSolvâ as itâll come up several times later on.â Going to the next slide, Kane cleared his throat yet again.
âThis page is more confusing, as it appears to be mentioning several unit serial numbers that donât match up with standard format, which are mixed in with several other ones that are in different format, like this one here,â Kane pointed his stick at a random one from the line. âThis one says, S-010011X01, which I believe has a main identifying letter instead of a string of numbers based on time of construction.â
âAdditionally, while some of these feature the normal serial numbers that worker drones use, they have another identifier after it, separated by a dash.â Kane flipped to the next slide.
âThis one is more straightforward, as it appears to be featuring a set of technical designs of a modified worker drone with the serial number and other associated information listed at the top. The notes on the side are observations on the modifications that can be seen in the designs. Some of the original worker drone parts can be seen, but a majority of the inner and outer mass seem to have been altered or replaced with a substance that is described as âfleshyâ. You can see at the very bottom a signature of an unknown human administrator, and a notice that marks the drone for âdisassemblyâ as an addendum can be seen that marks whatever this is as a failure, and a recommendation to request more data from their source.â
Kane took a breath, before going to the next slide. âThis is essentially the same as the last one, and this continues for a few slides. Nothing of note can be found in them, save for a few different serial numbers that were listed in one of the prior slides.â
Kane flicked to the next slide. âThis one has two addendums, which I will say in a moment. The image is different as well, with noticeably less random mutations and more of a form taking place. This one was supposedly much more successful than the others, and while it was still marked as a failure, the first addendum said that the team working on the project should strip the data from the drone in as best a condition as they could. The second one simply noted they were naming the specific strain of code they were using to âAbsolute Solverâ. The addendum does not mention any reason or motive behind the name, only noting the fact that their shareholders would be pleased.â
âThe next one is the first apparent success in the line of experiments that JCJenson seemed to be doing. A single growth can be seen protruding from the back of the spinal transmitter, and several other growths have sprouted inside. However, it is noted that the drone survived the process, and remained somewhat coherent for a period of time afterwards, which seems to be an outlier when considering the others. There isnât an addendum on this one, only a request from the team for more extensive data from their source to compare to this experiment.â
âThis trend continues for a good while, so Iâll just summarize the important bits for all of you.â Kane stated. âEach version continued to show more and more productive attributes and traits, as is par the standard course. Throughout the notes, requests, and addendums, whoever was typing up the document repeatedly noted some things that I will review later, such as Absolute Solver, the âsourceâ, Camp 98.7, Cabin Fever Labs, and disassembly drones.â
Kane flicked to the final slide. âThis is the final page, with some items to note. It appears to be a reiteration of the specifics of the agreement between the government and JCJenson, with a few additional key things. It includes the standard formalities and the usual junk that we all know, but something else as well. When mentioning the exchange of data that came from the asset-â Kane paused as the room underwent an uncomfortable shuffle in their seats. âThey mention a clear correlation between this project that JCJenson is, or was, working on, and the asset. They also instructed the government contacts that any unauthorized personnel, which included government agents, were now barred from entering Camp 98.7 due to âhazardous environmental conditionsâ and that this was nonnegotiable.â
Kane turned away from the projector, clasping his hands in front of himself. âAnd now to explain.â
âFrom what me and the team I assigned could gather, we deduced the meanings and purposes behind several items that were mentioned in this file. The first and most obvious, the âsourceâ that is mentioned. They are receiving data from this source, which seems to be essential to the development of what they were working on. Based on their words, we figured that the source is likely the asset, and yes, the same asset that we are all familiar with.â Kane paused, seemingly to let his words sink in.
âContinuing on, we began to dissect what Camp 98.7 was. It was very clearly a location of sorts, but where it was and what it was used for was more complicated. While we never arrived at a solid conclusion, we believed that the most likely avenue was that Camp 98.7 might have been an outpost of sorts, perhaps used in conjunction with these Cabin Fever Labs.â
âOn the matter of the Cabin Fever Labs, we can clearly assume that research and development of this Absolute Solver was being conducted there, and perhaps Camp 98.7 was a sort of staging ground or other type of location related to the lab. We believe that the location of one or both of these sites are hidden within another file.â
âAnd perhaps the most intriguing and complex matter of them all, Absolute Solver. We figured that it was likely that this Absolute Solver was instrumental in whatever experiments they were doing, or even being one of the subjects of the experiments themselves. From what we gather, Absolute Solver is something, maybe a piece of alien machinery, some sort of unknown lifeform, an experimental strain of cutting-edge code, one of those things, but whatever it is, it is not something that is ânormalâ. It appears to have a unique effect on those it hosts or comes into contact with, rapidly generating new organic material, with sometimes uncontrolled effects. While the file only shows the experiments that used drones, we donât know if any humans or other organic lifeforms were included either. Likely not, considering the legality of the situation, but it's open to discussion.â
Kane took a large breath, before continuing.
âAnd finally, the disassembly drones. They seem simple, but my team believed it to be heavily related to our current situation. They arenât mentioned very often, but they appear to be a direct result of their experiments or related to one. From what we could gather, they are meant to, well, disassemble. Drones on par with military-grade ones that are capable of a variety of things, like bullet fire, rocket launching, melee combat, flight, digital warfare, and regeneration.â Kane watched as his words dawned upon his audience, expressions filling with shock.
âYes, those drones. The disassembly drones that we read about are likely some variant of the unknown assailants that attacked the facility, and stole the asset in the process.â
The General sputtered. âB-but that would be a severe political incident! If those drones were under the command of JCJenson, and they stole GOVERNMENT property, then they would be liable for retaliation!â
Kane tried to calm the room. âNow, hold on, Iâm not done-â
The Lead Engineer also appeared to be shocked. âWhy didnât you tell me this earlier!?â
âYou told me to wait for the meeting!â Kane exclaimed.
The room erupted into disarray.
âWe need to mobilize, hunt down those damn traitors!â
âWhat's their last known location!?â
âWhere is the nearest transmitter, send out a request for retaliatory action!â
Suddenly, a drone burst into the room, knocking over the projector cart in the process. Everyone turned to look at him, ceasing the chaos for a moment.
âEr, uh, sirs?â The drone asked.
âYes?â The General and the Lead Engineer stood up at the same time.
âI, uh,â The drone looked back and forth between the two administrators. âWell, we received a panic signal from one of our scouts.â
The General scoffed. âWhy would that be enough to warrant our intervention? He probably just tripped on a conveniently placed banana peel.â
The messenger fidgeted nervously. âWell, his partner reported moments before the signal came in that he heard gunshots.â
The administrative drones shared a collective uneasy look.
âWhat did you do?â The General asked slowly.
âThe officers who received the signal first sent in two of the patrol squads that were nearby at the time.â The messenger answered.
The drones in assembly all either looked down in disappointment or facepalmed.
The General spoke up after a moment. âSend in a squad as fast as you can to their last known location. Only veterans, and outfit them with heavy weaponry and explosive ordnance.â The General paused, before adding an afterthought. âAnd give them some cutting equipment too.â
The messenger blinked in surprise. âWait, sir, are you sure-â
âJust tell the officers already!â The General slammed his fist down onto the cheap plastic table, which formed a crack.
The messenger saluted quickly, before dashing out of the room.
The Lead Engineer took a cursory look at the assembled drones, before he sighed.
âWeâre screwed.â

âAre you going back anytime soon?â
Jacob looked back at his unwanted companion.
âNo.â He answered simply, before resuming his casual trot.
âWeâre getting too far away from the spire, and the sun is coming up in an hour or two. I for one donât want to get caught out.â A insisted.
âWell I donât die from a bit of sunlight, so too bad.â Jacob stepped over a tire rim.
âIâm not sure thatâs your choice.â A stated.
Jacob paused and looked backward. âOh, so youâre bossing me around now?â
âMaybe, if you keep on making dumb decisions like this.â A stopped as well.
âPff, Iâll be fine.â Jacob waved his hand in the air to emphasize his point.
âYou wonât last ten minutes.â A dead-panned.
âNah, Iâll speedrun this stuff, Iâll be off-planet in an hour.â Jacob proudly said.
A shook his head and sighed. âWhatever you say.â
Jacob didnât answer.
Jacob then looked around. âWait, where are we? I wasnât keeping track.â
âAnd you said that you would- whatever, weâre like, three miles away from the base.â A replied.
âHuh, went that far?â Jacob asked.
A frowned. âThree miles isnât that far-â
A was interrupted by a rather loud crack that resonated through the landscape.
Jacob blinked. âUh, ok then-â
Jacob was also interrupted by a trio of cracks and bangs, sounding slightly familiar.
âAre those-â Jacob was, yet again, interrupted by even more bangs.
â-gunshots?â He finished.
âI wouldnât worry, those idiots are probably either messing around, or they found a worker drone to kill.â A nonchalantly answered.
âShouldnât we go check it out though?â Jacob inquired.
âIt isnât a problem.â A said, annoyed.
âWell it would give me something to do.â Jacob insisted.
A checked the time, before looking at the horizon for signs of sunlight.
âEh, fine. Wouldnât hurt, I guess.â A shrugged.
âNice.â Jacob grinned underneath his ballistic visor.

K sliced through the head of the last desperate drone, before spitting out a bullet.
âYou done?â K called out to X.
âYeah, I guess. By the way, do you still have my Dasani thing?â X looked at K hopefully.
âYes, I do. And besides, it isnât yours, it's for Jacob.â K answered.
âWhat? Why is he getting it? Why not me?â X exclaimed.
âBecause it's water, idiot. An uncontaminated source, like A told us, remember?â K glared at X.
âI guess, but that's water?â X asked.
âYes, it is. It matches the description.â K replied
âDescription?â X questioned.
âYeah, the description. You know what description means, right?â K seemed even more annoyed.
âI know what it means.â X snapped. âBut how do you know what water looks like?â
K just shrugged, before turning towards the exit.
âCome on, we gotta get back soon.â She flew upwards, landing on the ledge.
X followed suit, tracing their steps back through the building. X looked back up at the rusty grate that the drone had fallen through, which he now identified as being part of a weirdly placed catwalk. Scanning the environment, X found that the only entrance to the small alcove would be the hole in the catwalk. The basement that the small room was connected to didnât have an entrance either, only having the gaping hole in the side of the room, which likely wasn't intended. That would mean that a person would have to chop through the sewer wall to get into the basement and adjoining alcove, or jump off the catwalk. Both of those options didnât make any sort of sense at all. In fact, the catwalk wasnât even needed, someone could have just removed the entire basement-and-alcove plan entirely, which also removed the necessity for a catwalk. All in all, whoever designed the building was either high off of some crazy drugs, an idiot, or both.
But, none of these thoughts went through Xâs head, as he was only thinking about the devastating loss of his cool plastic bottle.
K hefted herself up onto the rusty catwalk, with X following close behind. K went through the doorway, only for a rather eventful event to stop her momentarily.
A rocket screamed through the air, smacking K straight in the chest. The resulting explosion blew X backwards and K apart, with oil splashing onto the ground in the process. With a clatter, X hit the ground, slightly dazed. He looked to his left to see what looked like the arm of K, twitching slightly. X tried to get up, only to fall again, after he put his weight on a hand that wasnât there.
X, seeing the failure of Operation: GTFU, adjusted his position so that he could get up with his other hand only, which was thankfully still there. Investigating his left arm, he could see that everything down from the elbow had been separated from himself in the blast. He didnât have time to look for it or go get it, so he simply let the matter go.
Standing up, X stared through the smoke, before diving back down onto the ground when another rocket came streaking past him. It scratched his face, sending small sparks up, before heading down the other hallway. X pointed his own rocket launcher into the fog, before firing off a flurry of shots. He heard explosions, but wasnât rewarded with screams or grunts of pain. Problematic, to say the least.
X took the opportunity to kick Kâs assorted dismembered body parts down into the lower alcove, where she should eventually reassemble herself. She was really taking a beating recently, and she would probably be frustrated about that when X was all done, but that wasnât his problem-
X nearly met the same fate as K when another rocket flew from the open doorway, the fog starting to clear up. X jumped up and over the RPG, letting it fly into the unexplored depths of the building. He couldnât do this dance forever, so he made the executive decision to charge into the unknown.

2023.06.03 01:56 Vbf121423 Abnormal NT scan
Thank you.

2023.06.03 01:56 Dismal-Jellyfish âShadow Banksâ Account for Half of the Worldâs Assetsâand Pose Growing Risks: 'no one seems to have a firm handle on the risks that nonbank financial entities could pose if numerous trades and investments sour.'
| Source: https://www.marketwatch.com/articles/shadow-banks-account-for-half-of-the-worlds-assetsand-pose-growing-risks-8f4b5961 The sudden failure this year of three sizable American banks demonstrated one way in which the financial system can âbreakâ as the Federal Reserve and other central banks press a campaign to normalize interest rates. There could be others. Risk-minded regulators, policy makers, and investors are eyeing the huge but nebulous world of largely unregulated nonbank financial intermediaries, known colloquially as shadow banks, as a potential locus of future problems. It includes sovereign-wealth funds, insurers, pension funds, hedge funds, financial-technology firms, financial clearing houses, mutual funds, and fast-growing entities such as money-market funds and private credit funds. https://preview.redd.it/cgymd43tvo3b1.png?width=1050&format=png&auto=webp&s=bcacf11db745f213831425f72b9c0030210d287f The nonbank financial system now controls $239 trillion, or almost half of the worldâs financial assets, according to the Financial Stability Board. Thatâs up from 42% in 2008, and has doubled since the 2008-09 financial crisis. Postcrisis regulations helped shore up the nationâs biggest banks, but the restrictions that were imposed, coupled with years of ultralow interest rates, fueled the explosive growth of nonbank finance. https://preview.redd.it/47cnlnpewo3b1.png?width=1030&format=png&auto=webp&s=8fc71b7cf09f7ba1523db038e13efd6354640deb To be sure, these financial intermediaries play an important role in the economy, lending to many businesses too small or indebted to tap institutional markets. Moreover, while talk is rife on Wall Street about problems brewing in shadow banking, few have surfaced since the Fed began tightening monetary policy in the first quarter of 2022. To the contrary, disruptions caused by rising interest rates have been most evident so far in the regulated banking sector. And any turmoil in the nonbank arena could prove relatively benign, especially if the economy avoids a severe recession. Yet, no one seems to have a firm handle on the risks that nonbank financial entities could pose if numerous trades and investments sour. Nor is there a detailed understanding of the connections among nonbank entities, or their links to the regulated banking system. To date, this system hasnât been tested, at this scale, for a wave of credit losses and defaults that could stem from higher rates and a weakening economy. History suggests caution: Shadow banking was at the epicenter of the financial crisis, as nontraditional financial institutions turned subprime mortgages into complex securities sold to banks and investors, often using high levels of leverage. As homeowners defaulted, these products lost value, and the damage cascaded through the financial system. While nonbank finance looks a lot different today, as do the potential risks, it remains a source of concern. Some policy makers and bankers use the shadow-bank moniker to refer to that segment of the nonbank universe considered most likely to trigger the sorts of liquidity-draining events that sparked prior financial contagion. The Institute of International Finance ballparks such exposure at about 14% of nonbank financial assets. But the links remain cloudy between the riskier elements of shadow banking, a term that rankles many nonbank entities, and the more resilient world of market-based finance. âThe enormous size and high leverage levels of the nonbank financial-institutions sector, along with the more lax reporting and regulatory standards applied to this sector relative to banks make it a potential tinderbox,â says Eswar Prasad, an economics professor at Cornell University and a senior fellow at Brookings Institution, who formerly worked at the International Monetary Fund. Worried economists and financial analysts have been urging regulators to gain a better understanding of nonbank financial intermediaries because they see telltale signs of potential trouble, including illiquid assets, increasing leverage, lack of transparency, and rapid growth. The nonbank universe is âeveryoneâs obvious candidateâ for more breaks, says Simon Johnson, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a former director of research at the IMF, who has spent much of his career working to prevent economic crises. There are no direct parallels to the asset mismatches and bank runs that took down Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic Bank earlier this year. In part, thatâs because the pension funds, insurers, and endowments of the nonbank world tend to hold assets for decades through funds that lock up their money for five to seven years. Also, big players such as private credit funds tend to use far less leverage than banks. Still, there are indications that inflation and the sharp rise in rates may be causing strains in some parts of the nonbank system. High interest rates have sapped demand for new mortgages, for instance, hurting nonbank lenders. Liquidity in parts of the bond market, such as emerging market debt and high-yield, is at the lowest levels since the Covid pandemic. And cash flow at some companies financed by private credit is shrinking due to inflation, a slowing economy, and higher debt payments. One thing is clear: What happens in one corner of this sprawling world doesnât stay there. Consider the collapse of the hedge fund Archegos Capital Management in 2021. Its losses on concentrated bets on blue-chip stocks triggered a margin call that led to the sale of about $20 billion of assets. That left big banks exposed to the fund, including Nomura and UBS, with billions of dollars in losses. âRisks came back to banksâ balance sheets from the back door,â says Fabio Massimo Natalucci, deputy director of monetary and capital markets development at the International Monetary Fund and co-author of its global financial-stability report. Federal Reserve governor Michelle Bowman said in a speech this spring that losses related to riskier activities pushed out of the banking system could come back to haunt banks through activities such as the banksâ extension of credit to nonbank lenders. According to the Fed, bank lending to nonbank financial intermediaries totaled $2 trillion in commitments at the end of 2022, a level the Fed described as high. https://preview.redd.it/vxfirsbuwo3b1.png?width=1042&format=png&auto=webp&s=d7e6505de660463394cd513dd7dce78326151fdb While many nonbank entities are regulated in some way, no regulator has attempted to assess the overall financial stability of the nonbank world. The Financial Stability Oversight Council, or FSOC, is now seeking comments on designating some nonbank institutions as systemic and subjecting some to Federal Reserve supervision. That would reverse some of the changes made during the last administration. A look at three types of nonbank financial intermediariesâprivate-credit providers, open-end bond funds, and nonbank mortgage lendersâoffers a window into the prevailing concerns about shadow banking, and suggests how conditions could unravel in this sector in ways that roil the economy and the markets. Private Credit Rapid growth in the world of finance tends to draw attention, and few business segments have grown since the financial crisis as much as private credit. Private-credit providers typically lend directly to midsize, privately owned businesses that generate from $10 million to $1 billion of revenue and canât get funding in the institutional market. https://preview.redd.it/ywxrglx0xo3b1.png?width=1031&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f37c7b40949d458cabeb5beab46227134bea781 As banks retreated after the crisis and each minicrisis that followed, these financial intermediaries stepped in. Private-credit assets have mushroomed to nearly $1.5 trillion from $230 billion in 2008**,** putting the private-credit market in the league of the leveraged-loan and high-yield markets. Drawn by high yields, attractive returns, and diversification opportunities, investors have poured money into private-credit funds. Insurers have doubled their allocation to these pools of largely illiquid assets over the past decade, while pension funds have more than doubled their allocation to alternative investments, including private credit, since 2006. The Fed said in its financial stability report, published in May, that the risk to financial stability from private-credit funds appears limited. It noted that the funds donât use much leverage, are held by institutional investors, and have long lockup periods, limiting the risk of runs. But the Fed also acknowledged that it had little visibility into loan portfolios, including the traits of borrowers, the nature of deal terms, and default risks. Some observers are concerned about the connections between private lending and other nonbank activities, as well as lendersâ links to the banking sector. âWall Street says they arenât going to lend to subprime borrowers, but they lend to funds that lend to them,â says Ana Arsov, who oversees private-credit research at Moodyâs. There is no public view of banksâ total exposure to private credit, Arsov says. Given the scale of the business and limited visibility into the risks, analysts worry that any widespread deterioration of asset quality could ripple through other parts of the financial world before regulators could act. Business development companies, some of which are publicly traded, offer some insight through disclosure documents into this $250 billion market. âMost managers that have both BDCs and institutional structures share deals across their platform, providing insight into the types of credits in their portfolios,â says Dwight Scott, global head of Blackstone Credit. Moodyâs sees increasing challenges for some BDCs over the next 12 to 18 months as the economy slows and companies grapple with higher borrowing costs, inflation, and market volatility. Although liquidity looks adequate for the next 12 months, loan maturities for portfolio companies will accelerate after that. If rates are still high and the economy is slumping, that could hamper the prospects for further borrowing. Similarly, lenders could become more conservative. Blackstone Private Credit fund, or BCRED, the biggest private-credit fund, said late last year that it had hit its 5% quarterly investor-redemption limit. While Blackstone had no trouble meeting redemptions, and has reported that redemption requests fell in this yearâs first quarter, Arsov worries about how smaller players would handle a similar situation. The industryâs efforts to court retail investors, she says, could increase the possibility that risks in private credit seep into broader financial markets, potentially by creating confidence issues. What could trigger problems in the broader private-credit universe? One concern is a potential wave of struggling borrowers larger than the anticipated 5% to 6%. Arsov says expectations may be too rosy, based on the low default rate during the pandemic, when the Fed stepped in with trillions of dollars in stimulus. With the Fed now raising rates to curb inflation and trimming its balance sheet, such assistance is unlikely to be repeated. Leverage metrics also have deteriorated, and covenant protections have weakened as the growth in private credit has increased competition for deals. Many have been concentrated in software, business services, and healthcare, in companies backed by private-equity funds. Given the benign interest-rate and economic backdrop of recent years, many private-equity investors were willing to pay higher multiples of enterprise value for companies with sustainable revenue, which allowed them to take on more leverage, says Richard Miller, head of private credit at TCW. âOur markets stopped focusing on debt to Ebitda [earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization], the longstanding gauge of risk, and looked at loan to value,â Miller says. âThat was fine as long as enterprise values didnât contract and the [interest] rate on that elevated debt didnât go up. We have had a change in both.â Now, some of these companies are generating less cash flow, which affects their ability to cover interest payments. While leverage isnât as high as during the financial crisis, limiting potential systemic risk, Miller sees the risks today transferred to the individual borrower, and worries about the prospect of some borrowers running out of money. A shift in the market might weed out weaker private-credit upstarts. But a potential combination of rising defaults, elevated interest rates, and flagging investor appetite for private credit could exacerbate a downturn, albeit in slow motion, given the nature of borrowing. Not surprisingly, industry leaders are more upbeat. âPeople conflate default with losses,â says Blackstoneâs Scott. But much of direct lending involves senior secured debt, he notes, which should minimize actual losses and enable lenders to help businesses through the challenges. âRather than increasing risk to the markets, private-credit asset managers are typically a stabilizing force, given the ability to invest patiently and opportunistically, and with little to no use of leverage, when banks and other traditional market participants either canât or wonât,â says Michael Arougheti, chief executive of Ares Management, one of the largest alternative-asset managers. https://preview.redd.it/8kxrl8eexo3b1.png?width=396&format=png&auto=webp&s=a0fc605506d01955897874827fecff078f2e73ba Bond Funds Unlike private-credit funds, which lock up investorsâ money for a set period, most mutual funds allow investors to buy and sell whenever they want, offering daily liquidity. But that could turn problematic for bond funds under certain conditions, as some corporate bonds change hands only once a monthâand less frequently in times of stress. If credit losses pile up or markets become stressed, some policy makers fear that bond funds could face demands to liquidate holdings at fire-sale prices, as investors scramble to sell funds with assets that have become illiquid. Liquidity in bond markets dried up in the early days of the pandemic as investors scrambled for cash and some bond funds sold assets to meet redemptions. That set off a further frenzy as investors tried to unload assets before they became more illiquid. The selling pressure eventually forced the Fed to intervene and offer to buy corporate bonds for the first time ever to keep credit flowing. Hoping to minimize the damage from another fire sale, policy makers are looking to develop new rules, including on fund pricing. The Investment Company Institute, which represents the mutual fund industry, has pushed back against this effort, arguing it is based on an incorrect view of the role that bond funds played in 2020. Citing its own research, the ICI says bond sales didnât spark the Treasury market dysfunction that disrupted the flow of credit, but started only after markets began seizing up and, at that, represented a fraction of the selling. The ICI notes that concerns about fire sales during periods of market stress arenât unique to the mutual fund structure. Bond funds have seen net inflows of $1.74 trillion since 2013. Global fixed-income funds, a subset of the sector, have crowded into some of the same corners of the market in the past two years. The IMF has raised alarms about that, citing fears of a stampede out of certain assets if a single fund runs into trouble. https://preview.redd.it/4dj15yznxo3b1.png?width=1017&format=png&auto=webp&s=14d2e757c94a8a0d3a63cc276dff2b214821e715 Bid/ask spreads, a common gauge of a marketâs liquidity, have widened in areas such as high-yield and emerging market debt to levels last seen in the spring of 2020, according to the IMF. Mara Dobrescu, director of fixed-income strategies for Morningstarâs manager-research group, also sees increasing vulnerabilities, but notes that most funds are equipped to handle stresses and that not many bond funds have had to institute limits on redemptions. Warning SignThe liquidity risk in high-yield bond funds increased in 2022 as bid-ask spreads widened.Portfolio-level bid-ask spread across fundsSource: International Monetary Fund https://preview.redd.it/kxm1xjgrxo3b1.png?width=1016&format=png&auto=webp&s=eea6c6ccea84a93126edda215efa99bb98300c2e Nonbank Mortgage Lenders The mortgage market has seen dramatic changes in the years since the global financial crisis. The business of originating and servicing loans has migrated steadily away from banks, with nonbank lenders accounting for more than two-thirds of all originations. Rocket Cos. â [ticker: RKT] Rocket Mortgage unit and UWM Holdings â [UWMC] United Wholesale Mortgage top the list of the biggest lenders. Neither company responded to Barronâs requests for comment. Housing finance is raising flags again, not so much for risky lending practices as in 2008, but because of the business models of these nonbank lenders, which donât have to hold as much capital as banks. With people buying fewer houses, mortgage originations are down 60% in the past two years, raising concerns that potential losses will eat into these businessesâ slim capital cushion and raise leverage levels. https://preview.redd.it/5p3dewayxo3b1.png?width=1051&format=png&auto=webp&s=b398b224d9378bc4159a61405d55fd616238b93d Nancy Wallace, a finance and real estate professor at the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, has been warning for years about these nonbank lendersâ business model. She fears that a rise in defaults could lead to disruptions in the mortgage and housing markets. One concern is the companiesâ reliance on short-term funding through warehouse lines of credit from banks. Those presumably could be pulled during periods of market stress, or if the borrowersâ financial health were to deteriorate. In this yearâs first quarter, delinquency rates were only 3.6%, the lowest level for any first quarter since the Mortgage Bankers Association started tracking them in 1979. A sharp rise in delinquencies, however, could bring added pain, as the companiesâ servicing businesses, which collect monthly payments from borrowers and funnel them to investors including banks, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, would need to advance the money. On its own, analysts donât see the nonbank mortgage-lending industry triggering a financial crisis, although distress throughout the industry could diminish confidence in other nonbank lenders. In a worst-case scenario, credit could dry up for riskier borrowers, hitting home prices and sapping mortgage demand. Peter Mills, senior vice president of residential policy for the Mortgage Bankers Association, has pushed back on recent regulatory efforts aimed at designating nonbank lenders as systemic, noting that the framework under consideration doesnât include a cost/benefit analysis or an assessment of the probability that an entity could default. Plus, he doesnât see a financial-transmission risk from the industry, which is working on tools to mitigate strains in the event of delinquencies. âItâs less a financial earthquake and more of an operational challenge,â he says. That may prove to be the case throughout the nonbank financial sector as interest rates normalize and the era of free money ends. Plenty of things might bend without breaking in this vast and opaque world. Just the same, it pays to be vigilant. TLDRS: Shorter Version: - The nonbank financial intermediaries, or "shadow banks," controlling almost half of the worldâs financial assets, are being watched closely as central banks work towards normalizing interest rates.
- Though few problems have been noted since the Fed's monetary policy tightening in 2022, there are concerns about the risk these nonbank entities could pose if numerous investments fail, especially given the lack of understanding about their interconnections.
- Rising interest rates and inflation may be causing strain in the nonbank system, with decreased demand for new mortgages and reduced liquidity in some bond markets.
- The collapse of Archegos Capital Management in 2021 highlighted the risk of problems in one area of the nonbank system impacting others, prompting calls for regulators to improve understanding of nonbank financial intermediaries.
- Despite private credit growth, concerns persist due to limited visibility into these funds' loan portfolios and connections between private lending and other nonbank activities, as well as links to the banking sector.
- Bond funds, with their daily liquidity, could face challenges in times of stress when certain corporate bonds are infrequently traded, potentially leading to liquidation at reduced prices.
- The shift from banks to nonbank lenders in the mortgage market, combined with the latter's reliance on short-term funding from banks, has raised concerns, especially in the event of a sharp rise in delinquencies.
Longer Version: - As the Federal Reserve and other central banks work towards normalizing interest rates, the largely unregulated nonbank financial intermediaries, also known as shadow banks, are being closely watched due to their potential to cause future financial issues.
- These entities, which include everything from sovereign-wealth funds to financial-technology firms, currently control $239 trillion, almost half of the worldâs financial assets, an increase from 42% in 2008.
- These intermediaries serve a crucial role in the economy, lending to businesses that are too small or too indebted to tap into institutional markets.
- Despite concerns, few issues have emerged in the shadow banking sector since the Fed began tightening monetary policy in 2022.
- However, it's unclear what risks these nonbank entities could pose if numerous investments go sour, especially considering the lack of detailed understanding about their connections among themselves and to the regulated banking system.
- The shadow banking system hasn't been tested on this scale against a potential wave of credit losses and defaults that could result from higher rates and a weakening economy.
- The sector, with its size, high leverage levels, and lax reporting and regulatory standards, could potentially become a "tinderbox" according to some economists.
- There are indications that rising interest rates and inflation may be causing some strain in the nonbank system.
- High rates have reduced demand for new mortgages, affecting nonbank lenders. Also, liquidity in some bond markets is at the lowest levels since the COVID pandemic.
- Still, there have been instances where problems in one part of the nonbank system have impacted others. The collapse of the hedge fund Archegos Capital Management in 2021, for example, resulted in significant losses for big banks exposed to the fund (and those continue as that bag is passed around...).
- Given these risks, regulators are being urged to gain a better understanding of nonbank financial intermediaries.
- Private credit has grown exponentially since the 2008 financial crisis, ballooning from $230 billion to almost $1.5 trillion.
- This sector lends directly to midsize businesses that can't obtain funding in the institutional market.
- Investors are attracted to private credit due to high yields, returns, and diversification opportunities.
- The Federal Reserve stated in a recent report that risks to financial stability from private-credit funds seem limited because these funds don't use much leverage, have long lockup periods, and are held by institutional investors.
- However, there's limited visibility into these funds' loan portfolios, including borrower characteristics, deal terms, and default risks.
- Concerns arise from connections between private lending and other nonbank activities, as well as links to the banking sector.
- The lack of public view into banks' total exposure to private credit is a cause for concern for some analysts who worry that asset quality deterioration could impact other parts of the financial world before regulators can intervene.
- A potential wave of struggling borrowers larger than the anticipated 5-6% could trigger problems in the broader private credit universe.
- Leverage metrics have also worsened, and covenant protections have weakened as competition for deals has grown.
- The market's focus has shifted from debt to EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) to loan to value, which could lead to some borrowers running out of money.
- There is concern that a potential combination of rising defaults, high interest rates, and waning investor appetite for private credit could exacerbate a downturn.
- Most mutual funds offer daily liquidity, allowing investors to buy and sell whenever they wish.
- However, this could be an issue for bond funds in certain conditions, as some corporate bonds are traded only once a month and even less often during stressful times.
- If credit losses accumulate or markets become stressed, bond funds could face pressure to liquidate holdings at reduced prices as investors rush to sell funds with illiquid assets.
- Bond funds have experienced net inflows of $1.74 trillion since 2013, with global fixed-income funds investing heavily in certain market areas in the last two years.
- The IMF has expressed concerns about this, noting that if a single fund encounters issues, it could lead to a rush out of certain assets.
- Liquidity risks in high-yield bond funds have increased in 2022, with bid-ask spreads, a measure of a marketâs liquidity, widening.
- Since the global financial crisis, the mortgage market has undergone significant changes, with nonbank lenders now accounting for over two-thirds of all originations.
- While the shift away from banks isn't due to risky lending as in 2008, concerns have been raised about the business models of nonbank lenders.
- These lenders don't need to hold as much capital as banks, and with a 60% decline in mortgage originations in the past two years due to decreased house purchases, potential losses could deplete their modest capital buffer and increase leverage levels.
- One concern is the nonbank lenders' reliance on short-term funding via warehouse lines of credit from banks, which could be withdrawn during market stress or if the borrowers' financial condition worsens.
- Although delinquency rates were just 3.6% in Q1 of this year, a sharp increase could cause issues, as these companies' servicing businesses would have to advance the money.

2023.06.03 01:00 Somewhere-Human recurrent low grade fever
Has anyone had a recurrent low grade fever of 99.5-99.9 that persists everyday? I also have nausea, severe shortness of breath, lightheaded, looking pale chills, rapid heart rate sketches low blood pressure and just feeling like the flu. I tested negative for flu and covid, and Iâm not sure if Iâm that anemic to cause all of these symptoms have Lyme and co infections but this is new) I know babesia can cause some of this but I feel like this has to do with like red blood cells Iâm not sure I just wanna know who else has had a fever that wonât go away and what to do about it

2023.06.03 00:32 zeekoes [WP] Humanity... Should have lost. The hordes were too great- our numbers to small. However, we broke time itself to unite a team. A team of the most skilled, unhinged, most dangerous individuals... We called them: Seraphs.
The following document outlines our proposal for the composition of Project: SERAPH. These individuals have been selected for a variety of characteristics and laurels that were deemed integral to the success of the project and ensure the continued existence of our species.
Subject one â Charlemagne â Codename: THE UNIFIER
This subject has been selected for his unique ability to unite people of different cultural backgrounds. He also possesses a keen sense for strategy and facilitates the development of knowledge and processing of information. He can both present himself as a diplomat or a tyrant based on what the presented situation warrants. A man of courage and conviction, he will be one of the pillars of the Seraphs.
Subject two â William the Conqueror â Codename: THE STRATEGIST
This subject has been selected for his skill in strategy and timing as well as bring an unrelenting ambition to the table. Our expectations are that â besides his battlefield manipulation â his strong personality will quell any internal friction. He is able to adapt to new technology when presented, which will be our key to victory over our enemy.
Subject three â Genghis Khan â Codename: THE SUBJUGATOR
A brutal warlord that will enable the Seraphs to not only possess the means necessary to turn the tide in the war on paper, but execute it in battle. His brutality can be used to intimidate opposing forces. However, he also possesses the ability to implement a top down structure within the team, to facilitate all areas to work together and at full capacity.
Subject four â Socrates â Codename: THE PHILOSOPHER
A man of philosophy and debate. While not useful in actual warfare, he will provide the Seraphs with insight and the ability to test theories, before resources are spend on executing them. Not scared to voice his opinion, nor to test those of others, his ability to scout weaknesses in information structures and battlefield analysis can prove integral to our success.
Subject five â Joan of Arc â Codename: HOLY SWORD
With an innate ability to inspire and drive forward our forces she is indispensable. She will fuel our efforts through rhetoric and zeal, making sure our enemies will never underestimate us. Her word can bind even the most desperate of men to courage and push us over the edge in battles we might on paper have already lost.
Subject six â Ada Lovelace â Codename: THE COMPUTER
With Adaâs understanding of mathematics and computing, we expect her to be the driving force behind our rapid advancements in technology. Be it surveillance, weaponry or communications, Miss Lovelace will be the STEM of our blooming resistance. She will be pivotal in intercepting and decoding enemy communications, as well as encrypting our own.
Subject seven â Amelia Earhart â Codename: AERONAUT
Amelia Earhart will take command over our airborne fleet. Her understanding of current, flight patterns, weather conditions and navigation will ensure that our fleets will always hit true to their target. She will be able to manage our ships to utmost efficiency and plot the best course of attack at the right time. She is also a master in concealment and cover tactics and can proof useful in making key members of out Seraph team disappear from the surveillance of our enemies.
Subject eight â Malcolm X â Codename: THE MINISTER
This position was one of internal strife. There is a lot to be said for filling this position with the individual known as Martin Luther King. However, after much debate, the choice has landed on Malcolm, for his ability to not only assertively focus on the goal and galvanize the people around him to do the same. Unlike Mr. King, he also is more familiar with battle tactics and the dirty side of achieving liberty. His expert knowledge of towing the line between diplomacy and violence, make our Seraphs more flexible and able to adjust quickly when presented with adversity.
Subject nine â Jesus Christ â Codename: MESSIAH
Known as the son of God, this man is there to provide our team with a moral compass and the believe in a goal beyond. Providing the injured with immediate care and providing the doubtful with guidance, he cannot be underestimated as a member of our team. While his personal philosophy of anti-violence might seem to contradict with the core task of the unit, he has been known to understand the need of measures beyond diplomacy if the goal is righteous.
Subject ten â Vlad III Dracula â Codename: VAMPIRE
This asset should be handled with care and be observed at all times. His preference for obscene violence to demoralize the enemy is a useful tactic, but also a double edged sword. His defiant nature may present a danger to the unity of the Seraphs, if left unchecked. We believe that his tactical prowess and unrelenting blood lust provides an edge to our forces that we need to defeat the enemy. Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to win. Yet, we would do well not to lose ourselves in the process. Subject is also rumored to be immortal, but there is no scientific data to back this up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the council would recognize and approve the SERAPH task force, we would be able to start the immediate process of retrieving these individuals from their native locations on the timeline. Our proprietary time extraction technology is efficient and trustworthy and will assemble this team without destroying the continuity of our history.

2023.06.03 00:21 themasterpodcaster Water Shielding Complete Enclosure
This post is part two of my plan for a enclosure of basalt rock and water shielding combined. You can use water alone but in general at least its much more effective to use basalt and water together as far as I know.
Part one is here
Basalt Shielding Complete Enclosure
https://www.reddit.com/TargetedEnergyWeapons/comments/13yrfez/basalt_shielding_complete_enclosure_and_frame/
Method One
Sea water is best and Im assuming if you cant get sea water then salt water must be better then normal. Try to make the water as similar to sea water as you can Im guessing.
This uses 1.25 wide 2.33ft tall 15 gallon cylindrical water containers. I'm thinking I need two layers so that I can offset the first with the second layer on the outside. Each container on the outside has its center blocking the spot where the two containers on the inside layer
meet. This makes a wall of water without weakness I hope. The wall needs to be 3.25f so it needs to be taller. On top of these containers on the inside layer of them is a single row of collapsible 5.3 gallons water containers.
I'm thinking Ill put a plywood between them and the containers underneath them so they can be pushed together and fit closely together and so the different diameter doesn't cause them to go off.
The top of the 15 gallon containers has a spot at the top where there's a gap thats a weakness. Im thinking Ill put 1 gallon water bag there perhaps partially empty to make it more malleable and the weight of
the 5 gallon container will hopefully mush it down so it fills in the uneven gaps in the top of the 15 gallon container. In front of the row of 5 gallon containers on top of the 15 gallon containers Ill put a pool tube to help block the weakness on top of the 15 gallon containers.
Ill overlap these pool tubes at the end in order to create a totally unbroken wall of water. Because the wall needs to be little taller Ill add large fomentek water bags at the top. The large fomentek bag has its top 6 inches lying on top of the 5 gallon container
and its held in place by a couple bricks wrapped in tarp or something temporarily. The bags hang down on the inside and overlap hopefully by 6 inches from bag to bag. Then you put 4 3x6x1.25 giant 140 gallon water bags on top of the structure lying perpendicular
to it. They overlap all the water walls by a foot. Then the pool tubes are put over the gaps between them. When there full you slide your hand under and remove the bricks from the water bags if possible. Or the top could be made of water bags.
Method 2
You use 6 or possibly 8 140 gallon water bags for the main wall of water. There 3ft wide, 6ft long and 1.25ft thick. First you position and fill the 15 gallon containers. You put 4 on the outside of every water bag. They weigh 120lb each and the water bag weighs
1100lb. So with 4 on one side weighing almost half as much as the water bag and the basalt and frame wall on the other side it might keep them standing up well enough. They 15 gallons are 2.33ft high and the water bags are 3ft tall standing on there side so tall
enough to hold them up. Putting another 500lb of sandbags on top of the 4 containers might work well if the water containers arnt enough. You position a 15 gallon in front of the spot where two water bags meet and then put a 5.3 gallon container on top so its
as tall as the water bag. You can also put fomenteck water bags over the crack as well if you can make them stay in place. You could two to shield one end and then two each side. The two on the end extend way outside of the actual area your shielding.
The ones on both sides form a tight wall along with the two on the end but then extend of the other side somewhat. The width of the basalt structure is 4.25ft and the length of the water bag is 6ft. So you could push the two that extend from the side of the end over
.85ft each to make room to fit the final end water bag between them. You might be able to overlap the where the waterbags meet on the lengthwise sides as well. There are different sizes you might be able to use to make it fit better. The roof of the water shielding might
bend down .25ft to meet the wall or you could put fomenteck waterbags on top perhaps. Like with the first method you might need to put something light weight on top of the structure to help prop up the water ceiling that the top of the basalt structure is roughly
level with the top of the water wall. This is a nice method in that you be able to set it up quickly because there you dont have to postion a bunch of things carefully. They just start in the position and it will only take a small number of hours for a garden hose to fill all
the containers from what I read. Its also nice because you can keep better track of the small amount of cracks. You could also use 4 inch fence posts and fence post foam or concrete possibly to hold up the water bladders. You could dig it with a 3 inch auger attached
to a well powered drill instead of using a fence post digger, shovel or a real auger. To protect the fomenteck water bags and the 5.3 gallon constrainers the more delicate ones you could use 1 or two layers of heavy cheap moving blankets.
Hopefully this would block pretty decent air guns and stuff that gang stalkers might try to shoot at them and you could protect it with plywood from the most vulnerable direction. Can also protect them from any natural damage. Then you can put a heavy tarp
to help protect them from the sun. Poly tubing might also work for water shielding especially for the roof where there isnt much pressure on it or for shielding cracks but I dont know about how you close them so no idea if it works.
The water shielding can act as an automatic sound barrior as you build I think and while you test the structure.
HOW MANY 15 GALLON WATER CONTAINERS FOR A DOUBLE LAYER AROUND A 9XFT LONG 5FT WIDE BASALT STRUCTURE 6o of them about $10000
9 containers long is 11.25ft nearly long enough to the length of the structure 9 plus 2 containers which is 11.5
18 for first layer on sides
8 for first layer on ends since it takes exactly 4 to equal 5ft and fill in the space
26 for first layer
sides second layer is 22
ends second layer is 12
second layer is 34
total is 60 for double layer 1 height containers costs $1000

HIDING THE STRUCTURE
You could use a pop up gazebo or a more quickly set up greenhouse or possibly a soft storage shed wich is similar if there big enough. You set up the pop up gazebo and then build it inside of it. The gazebo is more respectable and accepted by
landlords and stuff then a big tent or tarp. Put a heavy tarp over the gazebo possibly to protect it from weather and other damage. If the amount of steel or aluminum in it is too much in the gazebo and messes up the shielding you might be able move it off of the
structure with a person or 4 wheeled doly on each leg ( just a random idea).
IMPORTANT TO MOVE WITH URGENCY
The economy will get worse as far as I know and will possibly collapse. Gas prices will rise during the summer at least. Basalt and other materials and items might become less available.
The warm weather will end eventually making it a lot harder to complete a large structure. I certainly feel texteme urgency because of my rapid mental and physical decline and also these reasons.
Also as far as I understand it which is quite limited the world is getting worse and more controling, gang stalking will probably get more alot more empowered and there technology is getting better.
But the best way to move effectively is still to be smart and deliberate to test things as far as I know. It takes time to be smart so you should get started on it.
QUESTIONS
I didnt condense my questions enough i just tried to cover everything mostly even though I must have missed alot of things. I leave it to you to judge what information I need the most and to answer the questions and give other information
in the most helpful way you have time for. What I need urgently is to order my basalt and my water containers and I can figure out the other details as the stuffs on the way. So I need to be able to decide on a rough plan and on a type of basalt so I can order my
basalt. I need to know if water shielding is going to helpful for me and how much water I need.
So I'm trying to block RNM because sinking up there attacks with my thoughts is an incredibly important part of the attacks. I want to block the mental attacks themselves but blocking the RNM will probably be enough to make that stop
by itself. I also need to block them making me feel emotionally numb, low energy, extremely depressed lack a void of happiness chemicals or something and making extremely unintelligent and cant form thoughts. These symptoms all vary at the
same time and seem parts of the same attack. Sometimes when its bad its also very hard to move and I can perceive my body as heavy and stuck and strange. My consciousness is compressed and receads as if I dont exist and I become dethatched
Also reduces anxiety. Happened when I was writing this because speaking about it is a trigger for them and I had to wait for find the words. Other TIs talk about similar symptoms.
These symptoms can all change
an extreme amount in just a second since its artificial and they change based on triggers that hold an emotional charge and significance to my attackers.
So i'm only trying to block them attacking my brain.
How should the basalt be around my body compared to around my head?
How thick should it be around my feet compared to my body?
I think you said that you need it double thick above your head and behind it but in the pictures of your set up it showed 1 full crate above and 1 full crate behind the same as the full crate on either side.
Is it true that you need it double thick above and double thick protection behind while in a prone position?
Why is that? Is above more important just because of the angle of attack or that part of the brain?
Is this also going to be true with me whos not trying to block physical attacks? Will my forehead or face or top of head or both be more vulnerable?
Since all im trying to block are the RNM, mental attacks and perhaps nervous system influence ( just totally guessing about that last comment )
In your photos you have pillowcases with basalt on top of the side crates and back crate covering the crack where they meet the top crate. The pillowcases only give you like 3 inches of protection. How does that actually work to block the crack?
Why dont you need basalt to block the vertical cracks between the crates?
I cant get a good handle on why you dont need 2 crates high 2 crates deep and 3 crates wide with one removed for your head to get the protection.
Why dont you need basalt to block the vertical cracks between the crates?
How much do you think the protection varies by thickness? If you double it or half it how much does the protection multiply or divide?
What's the highest amount you think youve divided the attacks by and what was the weakness that stopped you from dividing it further?
Could I divide it more than that and how?
Do you think RNM and mental attacks will require more or less basalt then physical attacks. They seem to be able to intrude on my mind for reading or attacking to a
very unusual degree and none of my shielding tests have effected it at all for many years although I've done some which might be very strong ones.
WATER SHIELDING QUSTIONS
Do you think I need water with my basalt since it will cost me $1000 or $1500 to $2500? I think i've seen you say it blocks DC heavy pressure. Is that a single type of physical attack or an important aspect of electromagnetism?
What are the chances they could use DC heavy pressure in a mental?
Will all types of attacks be blocked with the combination of basalt and water if you have enough?
is that the magic combination for everyone or just for your physical attacks.
Whats the ratio in thickness of water to basalt for a full shield of water?
How much do you think the amount of time I spend inside it will affect how well it works. Like will spending only 2 hours in it be a lot inferior then being able to spend 24 hours or a week.
What do you think about how to build it?
Do you think it would be ok to use small nail gun nails in the frame since the mainstay bags that you have metal on them?
What are angles of attack and how does it make sense to set up my thicker protection
I need any kind of help you can give me with this project. Iv been working on this plan and this post for 6 to 12 days where the majority of my work everyday was on it. Then other weeks and months
on similar plans and research on making basalt shielding happen. So it takes me forever to do anything even though I labor all day during the time im not recovering from it. It doesnt seem like I'm capable of
taking in the information on what basalt shields and on the measurements and to figure out how to classify my attacks. I had to make a simple summary of the most simple aspects of using basalt and water
to understand it and that must have taken me a day or more of work to piece together different posts and to organize.
