- Managed by Alpha Management so I decline
- They want a broker's fee upfront with an application. Which I decline
- Want an application signed before viewing the listing in which I say no
- The apartments that I do end up viewing end up being too small, or need a bit of renovations so it doesn't work for me.
- The potential landlords just end up ignoring my message, or ghosting me when I ask can we proceed with you showing me the listing
- A couple of brokers/realtors reached out to me but they were unsurprisingly not helpful either.

Hey, I have been accepted in a German-US exchange program and will be studying at UMass Boston for just one semester (1st of September until the 1st of January). I am going with 5 other Germans, but there are also quite a lot of students with different nationalities. I am quite unsure on how to approach the issue of finding a flat / room because I have never lived or even been to the US. Do you think it is easier to search for an entire apartment for multiple people for the duration or to just search for a single room on my own? What are your experiences with sites like Roomster or Craigslist? I have tried searching for more information in the wiki entry: https://www.reddit.com/boston/wiki/housing but a lot of it seems outdated.

Hi everyone! I work for an app that connects skilled baristas with shops needing shift coverage. We also handle staffing for one-off events that offer specialty coffee. The pay for these events is very good and we've gotten really positive feedback from baristas who've worked similar events with us in the past. I am part of a small team based in NY, but a few of the events we're staffing are in other cities (Chicago, Boston, and DC specifically). Unfortunately we can't visit these places in person. What do you think the best way to find skilled baristas in these other cities would be? I'm wary of posting on craigslist because job posts there always feel sort of sketchy. Are there any city-specific online communities of baristas where a post about event work wouldn't be frowned upon? That type of post doesn't feel right for this particular subreddit but I figured someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. I've done some googling myself but haven't found anything so far, which is why I'm here. Thanks in advance for your advice!

2023.05.20 21:58 butterflyeffect222 Breed identification for preventative healthcare. Boston Border Collie?
 | This is my first post so I don’t really know how to go about this. My mothers dog was just put down due to genetic reasons and now I am getting filled with anxiety and want to make sure my own dog is okay and that I’m not missing any signs. I bought her from a guy off of craigslist claiming to be a husky breeder but had many other personal dogs and his parents had their own personal dogs. Apparently my dog was a mistake between a Boston terrier and border collie. She is extremely high energy & can learn a new trick within 15 minutes. She maintains an average weight of 35lbs. She is faster than any husky, german shepherd, and many other dogs that are way larger than her. And she does do circles around people sometimes but I can’t tell if it’s just from excitement or instinct from her possible herding roots. Most people ask if she’s mixed with some type of pit, and the guy I got her from did have pit bulls, but I have been raised with pits and don’t think she is one. I don’t have money for a DNA test or else I would do that.
