Letters of Recommendation LOR 1 - IB Biology teacher. He was my original mentor for my science fair project, and writes good recommendations for anyone who does well at science fair state/nationwide. Knew him since freshman year and was top ~3 students every year he taught me. Probably 5/10 LOR 2 - IB Language Arts teacher. This was a wildcard, as this teacher was new and I definitely messed around in class a lot. However, she (luckily) mistook this as charisma, and I also performed well in the class in general. Got to read this letter of rec after admissions were over, would rate it 5/10 as well. LOR 3 - Principal Investigator of lab, T5 school (from EC #1). Said I was better than any undergraduate student he'd ever advised, and on par with most PhD students in his lab. Overall was a really nice rec letter, especially from someone so high up at that school. They let me read it before applications, would give it 8/10. LOR 4 - counselor - Probably quite generic. The only thing my counselor knew about me was that I really wanted to get into good schools, and I had barely spoken to her outside of this context. Probably 3/10. Interviews MIT - spent 4.5 hours, was really amazing. Turns out that I had actually cited this guy in one of my papers, and thus we naturally spent most of the time talking about research interests. Thought it went very well, and I still sometimes talk to this guy - 8/10. Harvard - most bland interview ever. Basically just went over my resume and why I liked Harvard (name-dropped some faculty in my area of interest). She was a partner at McKinsey, and kept trying to convince me to consider consulting as a career. Lasted only 45 minutes - 2/10. Stanford - went really well. Guy was 70 years old. Was about 3 hours long, talked about everything from research interests (his work was orthogonally related to my work) to 19th century German philosophers to James Bond soundtracks. Was a great experience - 7/10. Penn - interviewer went to my HS, but besides this it was just sort of going over my resume and a casual chat. Lasted 1 hour, nothing notable - 3/10
Cornell - interviewer ghosted me after I gave certain dates, and then next emailed me congratulating me on my acceptance like 2 months later. Weird. 0/10
Yale - She was class of 1951 (!!) and was very sweet, but I didn't really give any indication of exceptionalism and the call was very mediocre. Good conversation, but probably nothing notable she would have written in her report - 2/10
Princeton - interviewer was an MD at a private equity firm. We clearly shared very few values, but he ended the call saying that I would be a good fit (probably generic feel-good commentary tbh). 2/10 Essays (Briefly reflect on the quality of your writing, time spent, and topic of main personal statement.) I was very underconfident on my application going into application season, so I tried to make essays my main focus. I estimate that I spent upwards of 1000 hours on essays total, and started working on them in March of my junior year. However, looking back at those essays nearly 3 years later, I still believe they were as true to who I am now as I was when I wrote them. Common app essay was an amalgamation of research interests, personal philosophies, etc. Didn't fit any particular prompt, but looking back I'm still somewhat proud of it. I tried to make it very polarizing, since I thought that I had to be memorable (maybe a mistake in hindsight). Friends who were more successful in admissions than I was who read it said it was great. I probably overthought the "mini" essays for Stanford, Yale, Columbia, and Princeton, and looking back they felt sort of tryhard, but I think my larger 250-word essays were well thought out. After reading through my admissions file, it seems like AOs thought my common app was very polarizing, so I guess I accomplished my desired effect. Decisions (indicate ED/EA/REA/SCEA/RD) Acceptances:
University of Michigan (EA)
Caltech (EA)
Cornell (RD)
Penn (RD)

2023.06.11 02:21 Telund967 [fans servant] Mysterious Villainess X (Alter) / Mysterious Bancho X (Alter)

[fans servant] Mysterious Villainess X (Alter) / Mysterious Bancho X (Alter)
*this the Alter of a previous Servant idea "Mysterious Villainess X (Mordred)"*

Name: Mysterious Villainess X Alter (VX-Alter, Va-chan, Vae, World Breaker,)
Servant Class: Berserker
VX Alter is actually the twin of Mysterious Villainess X but they were seperated at birth due to how uncontrollable she was and the danger she posed to others. living a sheltered life at the far edge of the Eastern kingdom she never developed people skills and the discomfort of this often leads to destructive tantrums. She eventually "Moved" to a new school after destroying the town she used to live in. she currently lives inside of the school of which she's created numerous hidey holes to stay in rent-free. she has a suprisingly large fanbase due to her similarity to Mysterious Villainess X though she isnt much of a fan of the attention this brings her. she was eventually nominated for the schools shadow council, "Rounders" named after a rumored evil orginization.
A rather absent minded girl, while others might see a serene beauty the envokes the same regality as MVX in actuality she simply has nothing going on in her head. VX Alter doesnt posess much interest in anything going through the motions because she assumes she should and primarily in service of not being bothered in her freetime. this lack of forethought leads to her often agreeing to do things that take up her freetime.
This is air-head like persona is a direct attempt to contain the blind rage with as when pushed too far or stressed too much she switches into an extremely agressive, selfish, and pushy persona whose primary objective is to satisfy whatever desires or interests she has at that moment. ironically it is easier to have a conversation with this persona as there is purpose and intent behind her actions. this also means she can be convinced to do thing by appealing to her as opposed to her regular persona that that wont change her mind if she's already decided on something.
A result of her only being interested in enjoying her freetime she sees food primarily as fuel so she does differentiate resulting in her often picking the worst, greasest, loaded foods possible to eat... she typically has massive mounds of fast food waste strewn about her hidey holes that she only cleans once it gets in her way.
VX Alter inhereted the same universe shaking might as Mysterious Villainess X comparable to the X-Factor. Many Servants that faced argued that should her power fully awaken good and evil would come together to topple this mutual threat.
VX Alter fights with the gauntlets Exter-myniad, An Anti-[ ]. original called the Laz-myniad which was a large beam lance display piece that VX Alter aquired durring one of her many impromtu tasks and subsiquently customized to her liking. now a pair of gauntlets the [ ] in it's discription can either be seen as a result of Alters faulty modifications or the fact that through it practically anything can be concidered Alter's enemy to which it shall become the bain of. the gauntlets have many outlets for which beams can be emitted creating beam studs, beam claws, or a torrent of moving beams around Alter's fists acting as drills or hand-held lances, it even has a secondary function to launch a potion of the gauntlet out like a tethered spike.
Alter's hand-to-hand combat reaches such a level of mastery that she can hold out against high level servants and the Nobel Phantasms unarmed. Heroine X and Villainess X have both stated that if a fight with VX Alter ever came down to raw strength they'd be nearly helpless. though this combat prowess and brute strength is fueled primarily by instincts and as such in her primary state she is still somewhat restrained with a more reactionary fighting style. when her switch flips Alter goes full offense to the point that she uses anything in her environment as a weapon alongside her gauntlets showing the true ferocity that laid hidden before.
Class Skill
  • AExtra-reactor (Rank A): not exactly a reactor but more a continuous energy reaction caused by a certain factor inside VX Alter's body. this reaction converts all manner of things that pass into Alter's body into energy with calories and fat having the highest conversion rates. this general absorption also applies to things like fate leaving her as a walking "plot hole" that few are aware of without directly observing her. this means she isn't considered in any prophecies made by those that haven't met her
  • Mad Enhancement (Rank C-A): Complex thought for Alter is purposefully restricted so as not to have frequent outbursts. thinking and communication are possible but Alter doesn't engage much. while it may seem like the skill isn't active all one needs to do is attempt to attack or harm them and the degree of enhanced might would become apparent. once actually enraged the skill advances a few levels but rather than a decrease in higher-level thinking Alter experiences an increase. this is likely because this is a separate persona defined by Alter's rage and it is now free to act as it pleases
Personal Skill
  • Eternal Arms Mastery (Rank C-B): Alter has such an innate affinity for violence that ingrained in her is the ability to turn anything into a weapon seamlessly. in her more subdued form this skill manifests as an adept handling of the terrain allowing her to fight in nearly any situation unhindered. once enraged she becomes far more aggressive making use of anything that is or isn't nailed down as a weapon and she now has an even better command of her environment turning even it into a weapon.
  • Instinct (Rank A): This preternatural sense seems to exist as a direct result of Alter's true nature as this level of instinct allows her to easily wield her destructive power not only to not injure herself but to also effortlessly defend against attacks. with a combination of this skill and arms mastery Alter's attacks are so precise that to even to some servants she wouldn't even need to consider an actual weapon to finish them.
  • Monstrous Strength (Rank A): if anything were to signify Alter's true monstrous nature, this skill would be it. a drastic increase in her already monstrous power that can only be achieved in her enraged state. the convergence of all her skills along with this one makes for a perpetual motion machine of mass destruction. it's very likely that this skill is only so high because she has her other skills making it manifest at a higher rank.
  • Expired 2-for-1 coupon (Rank A): a special possession of Alter that taught her the values of chance and opportunity as 200% percent more of what you want is a deal that most logically couldn't refuse but if you fail to put in the effort to capitalize on such opportunities you risk losing more than simply not getting what you wanted in the first place. Alter took this to heart and attempted to manage herself accordingly

Noble Phantasm-------------------------

Exter-myniad Twin Drills Harboring Extinction:
  • Type: Anti-Unit
  • Rank: A
  • Range: 1~99
  • The Gauntlet Alter uses derived from the beginning and the end each first utilizing the power of each end. with the left the enemy is slowly undone as if they were never there while the right brings them to an absolute end. repeated strikes from both is extremely dangerous as on should not experience the beginning and the end at the same time
Antagonizer: Petty Punisher's Quantum cascade:
  • Type: Anti-Unit
  • Rank: EX
  • Range: 1~99
  • Alter's ferocity reaches its zenith and by firing on all cylinders the powers of Exter-myriad cause her to flicker between both the beginning and the end. now shifting existing between any two positions Alter performs an omnidirectional onslaught as if she took hold of both ends and crushed them down on her enemy. Alter could only do this due to her unique makeup but the attack still has a backlash as even she isn't immune.

(excuse the lack of flair, I only have so much PSO2 fashion to spruce up the design)

2023.06.11 02:08 Silent-Nature1540 AITA- Group Science Project

So this happened in 7th grade, most likely. At this point I honestly can’t remember since it took place in 2006, Group science project, I’ve never liked group projects, for obvious reasons. So we had to make the project, example, like when you make that volcano and watch it erupt. Anyways we did the building portion now was the presentation portion with our hypothesis (scientific guess about what would happen and why.) and what actually happened. We got to pick our group partners so I thought it was actually going to be fun for once…WRONG! We had gotten some stuff done, but there was still A LOT more to do. The project was due by Monday, and it was Friday. Well that just gave us the weekend. The teacher had asked us to talk with our group about where, presumably who’s home we’d meet up and finish the project. This is where it didn’t go as planned. My 2 so called friends Rachel and Sarah (not their real names) where too busy talking about going to the mall and completely ignored me like I wasn’t even there. I said to them that we needed to figure out where to meet up to finish this. I got the response of yeah we will, then went back to mall talk and ignored me. Thankfully my next class and last class of the day was study hall. So with that in mind when the bell rang, I headed to my next class with the poster board, did my other homework first then did my science project, my teacher came over and saw I was doing all this work and asked why. I told her what had transpired between myself and the other 2 girls and you could tell she wasn’t happy with them but had my back. I knew they wouldn’t call that weekend to make plans to do the project and I wasn’t about to get a bad grade for their nonsense. Now before you ask how I knew it’s just one of those things where your gut feeling just knows. Fast forward to Monday Science class, time to present! The teacher either called on my group or asked who was ready. Either way I was gonna get this over with. (Side note, I know for a fact my study hall teacher told the science teacher because she pulled me aside before hand and told me she knew what was going on.) The girls looked at me and said but we didn’t fish the project!? Shocker…I flat out ignored them. I presented got the full grade, and lost the two leeches. The 2 leeches where mad because they had to do one now and because it was late would be getting half credit. I told them that wasn’t my problem, they played the we’re a group card. I said yeah, and when I asked Friday you 2 where too busy talking about going to the mall, so group project went out the window at that point. They hated me after that, but I didn’t care because I did my part and got the grade I deserved.

2023.06.11 01:24 clegay15 Tales of Middle Earth Flavor Critique: Denethor, Ruling Steward

I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan; I re-read the books typically once a year. I also adore the movies, and find all of Tolkien's legendarium absolutely awesome. Truly one of my favorite hobbies so I'd like to offer some critiques and excitement of flavor gems from Tales of Middle Earth. I won't do every card, but I'll comment on some individual cards and how WOTC did on it. I will comment on the cards abilities but only insofar as it impacts the flavor; i.e. what the card is doing not power level, etc.
To be clear: I understand there are sacrifices you need to make for the greater game, and sometimes those come first. For these articles: I am looking at each card in a vacuum, so if I seem harsh it's because I am using a single lens.
Next up: Denethor, Ruling Steward!

Flavor Preface
Denethor is the Ruling Steward, ruling "in the stead" of the King as the Stewards have done for centuries. Denethor, more than anything, is a proud man. A man who years for things to stay as they are, who wants for his son (Boromir) to continue after him. And yet, Denethor is also a complex man. Denethor resists Sauron, not just for his own sake, but to truly resist and protect Gondor from evil.
Denethor's twin weaknesses are his pride and his grief. Unlike in the movies: Denethor prepares Gondor for the storm. He calls on Gondor's armies to aid Minas Tirith in the siege, both lights the beacons requesting aid from Rohan and sending a messenger to Theoden. But when Denethor sees his son seemingly dead: he loses heart, abandoning his post and forcing Gandalf to step into the role Denethor should have played.
But, crucially, Denethor has reason to feel hopeless. Denethor, foolishly, used the Palantir kept in Minas Tirith to try to find more information in his war against Sauron, and Sauron used this to show Denethor his full strength. Here is what Denethor saw:
"For a little space you may triumph on the field, for a day. But against the Power then now arises there is no victory. To this City only the first finger of its hand has yet been stretched. All the East is moving. And even now the wind of thy hope cheats thee and wafts up Anduin a fleet with black sails. The West has failed. it is time for all to depart who would not be slaves."
In fact, Gandalf confirms this in "The Last Debate" (and it is crucial to Tolkien's story): there is no victory to be had by force of arms. The only way to defeat Sauron militarily is to use the Ring; but to use the Ring is to become the Dark Lord yourself. It is the humility that Gandalf, Elrond, Aragorn, and crucially the Hobbits show by rejecting the Ring and seeking to destroy it that the War of the Ring is won.
Finally, Denethor's motivations are both sympathetic and poor. Here is Denethor explaining himself to Gandalf:
"I would have things as they were in all the days of my life," answered Denethor, "and in the days of my long fathers before me: to be the Lord of this City in peace, and leave my chair to a son after me, who would be his own master and no wizard's pupil."
Denethor wants what many would want: for things in their good life to stay the same. To pass on an inheritance to their children, and to live in peace. But part of life, as Tolkien points out, is to accept change and to move with it. Denethor is not willing to do this, and chooses annihilation instead.
Denethor is an incredibly complex character. I could see arguments for White, Blue, Black and Green in his character. I think White is necessary as a Lord of the City who wants to live in peace, and depending on what aspects of his character you want to emphasize you could pick the others. White-Black is fine, and this plays into his desire for power (Denethor himself lusted after the Ring) and to use pawns on the chessboard.
I like the second ability as Denethor makes specific reference to using pawns to defeat your enemies. Sacrificing your other creatures to his plans so he can chip away at the enemy makes sense. The first is not quite my favorite, but I like how it works with his first ability and can be repeated over and over.
2/4 is fine; Denethor is not feeble (like Theoden was) but instead chooses not to fight.

2023.06.11 01:16 4321five (Mostly) All the differences between The Mario Movie 2023 and the games

Thank you all for your answers in my previous post, now let's go with the updated and complete list.

1. Technical differences:

These differences do not affect the canon, but they are differences nonetheless that must be taken into account.
  1. Characters in Mario games don't usually speak, they just make shouts or sounds to represent their voice, but because the movie is a movie, the characters speak a lot more.
  2. Related to the previous point, the characters have a very different voice, not only because of the voice actor, but also in their tone of voice (notably Mario and Luigi).
  3. All the characters here have a changed personality, to a lesser or greater extent (notably Peach).
  4. All characters have a different design
  5. In the movie the effect of the superstar (being invincible) seems to last longer
  6. When Mario is hit with the Mini Mushroom effect, instead of dying, he returns to his normal form.
  7. The mini mushroom also doesn't give any of its advantages (like being faster or jumping more), it just makes Mario smaller.
  8. Some of the things in this movie have other names. (The Mini Mushrooms were renamed Blue Mushrooms, the Banzai Bills were renamed Bomber Bills, and the Spiny Shell was renamed Blue Shell.)
  9. Fire Peach looks slightly different than she does in the games (no ponytail).
  10. Cat Mario's design also looks slightly different (he has visible claws).

2. Presumably differences:

This movie establishes some things that have not been established in the games, and while you can't say it's a difference for sure, due to not having an official source in the games to do so, you can't say it's not a difference either, because technically it is.
  1. The Mario games have never established that Mario has a very large family (the only thing that has been seen in the Mario games have been his parents, but other than that nothing).
  2. The existence of Lumalee in the games has not been established.
  3. Kamek was Bowser's surrogate father in the games, and although the movie never contradicts this, it is not confirmed either, so it remains a presumable difference.
  4. It looks like Toadette sings in a band or something, but that has never been established in the games.
  5. Bowser in this movie seems much more in love with Peach than in the games, normally in the games he kidnaps Peach for reasons other than marrying her, for example in SMB1 he kidnaps Peach so she won't undo the Magic Spell that Bowser used to transform the mushroom people into blocks, but in this movie it seems that he really wants Peach to marry her, so genuinely, while in Super Mario Odyssey, he wants to marry Peach to annoy Mario more than anything (he doesn't look really in love), but there's no evidence in the games to say that he doesn't love Peach, maybe in the games it's just not so exaggerated, we don't know, so that's why this "difference" is presumable.
  6. The blue shell comes from a Koopa in this movie (in the games it is never said that it does not come from a Koopa, but neither is it said that it comes from one, so this is a presumed difference).

3. Differences in the canon:

in this section is any difference that directly contradicts the canon in the games.
  1. Mario and Luigi in the games grew up in the world where the mushroom kingdom is (in New Donk City to be specific), but in this movie they grew up in another world different from the mushroom kingdom, and then they were teleported to the world where the mushroom kingdom is.
  2. Related to the previous point, Mario and Luigi were delivered by storks to their parents in the games, but not in this movie (it could not have happened, because Mario and Luigi in the movie were born in a "normal" world, therefore there is no possibility that they were delivered by storks or magic green dinosaurs).
  3. Mario and Luigi in the games met Peach when they were babies (as seen in Partners in Time), but in this movie they meet her as adults.
  4. Related to the above, Peach in the movie was teleported to the mushroom kingdom as a baby instead of being born there, as seen in Partners in Time.
  5. Cranky Kong does not recognize Mario in the movie, this should not be so because Mario fought against Cranky Kong in the arcade "Donkey Kong".
  6. Also, Donkey Kong is Cranky Kong's son, instead of being a grandson.
  7. Mario jumps very high in the platform games even without using power-ups, that is seen since "Mario Bros." for the arcades, while in this movie he needs power-ups to even jump high.
  8. Related to the above, the red mushrooms should return Mario to his normal form when he is small (in the games), but in the movie they give him more power and make him bigger.
  9. there are Clear pipes and Bell trees in the Mushroom Kingdom, even though they shouldn't be there.
  10. There are power-ups in Jungle Kingdom/DK Island in the movie, but not in the games.
  11. Snow Kingdom does not look similar to the one in the games (Super Mario Odyssey)
  12. Also, Snow Kingdom was not inhabited by penguins in Super Mario Odyssey.
  13. Peach's castle has another design
  14. Toadsworth doesn't exist in the movie, simply... he doesn't exist, he doesn't even have a mention or a cameo.
  15. Donkey Kong Island is a kingdom that Donkey Kong rules in the games, but in the movie it seems that instead of Donkey Kong, it is Cranky Kong who rules.
  16. A lot of generic monkeys live in Jungle Kingdom/DK Island in the movie, but not in the games, in the games only the Kong family lives on the island.
  17. This movie is about the 1st adventure Mario had in the mushroom kingdom, and if you have played the 1st NES Super Mario game (SMB1), you will know that the two stories are nothing alike.
  18. Speaking of which, Bowser kidnaps Peach in SMB1 because she was the only one who could undo the magic spell of the Mushroom People and return them to their normal state, but in this movie (which is supposed to be the 1st adventure mario has in the mushroom kingdom), Bowser has a very similar plan to the one he had in Super Mario Odyssey, which is to marry Peach.
  19. Many enemies that for the 1st Mario adventure should not have been introduced yet (like the Shy Guys), appear in this movie anyway.
  20. Rainbow Road is very close to the ground in the movie, while in the games it is in space.
I know I could probably put more things on the list, but the purpose of this list (to put most of the reasons why Mario movie is not canon) is already fulfilled in the state it is now, so I doubt I will update this.
And well those were the 36 differences that I could compile from Mario's movie, if you have more differences or want to correct me on something I said, you can put it in the answers, you can pass this list to someone if that person wonders if the movie is canon and you want to answer quickly, I think this list is very complete, and well that was all, have a nice day.

2023.06.11 01:06 Ok-Ask9227 Debrief:operation middle kingdom

After a blitzkrieg that made it all the way to the capital of Cologne, a ceasefire was signed during late october in order to prevent a french Intervention from the west, placing the Luxembourg region, which fell only after a month of bombardment, as well as most lands east of the Rhine, in the hands of the reik. There were only 1.4 thousand casualties from the kassel division, with enemy forces sustaining double that number.
With the arms trade finalized with the U.S.G.A.(united states of greater austria), fresh offensives are said to be in the works for the remnants of the kaiserlauten to the north.

To start I saw the announcement in this community about no story spoilers till June 10th and today is that day, I humbley hope I am not violating anything by posting now as I'm seeing other spoiler posts, also I couldn't find anything else saying otherwise. Please feel free to strike this down if I did anything wrong regarding the community rules, I apologize. I just hope this spurs discussion about Diablo's story & company writing decisions.
I would like to state the obvious first & foremost: Spoilers ahead, this is my personal opinion/vent, I will primarily be focusing on the story, of which I am disappointed in & lastly, I do not take the hard work put in by the developers lightly, not everything about Diablo 4 is thrown away just because of my opinion.
There was a god entity, it split into 2 halves, angels good, demons bad, nephalem middle, they all fighting.
The only nuance with characters I've noticed is with Lilith, Inarius, Malthael, Rathma & Elias.
This makes the story predictable but I found it nevertheless enjoyable because of the execution. I, as the player, had perspectives the characters did not. At times I felt the story was executed well, you could easily see why hardly anyone could've predicted the twist between Leah and Adria. The characters didn't make any unusual decisions, they usually made a degree of sense.
But in this Diablo, I can CLEARLY see that the will & thoughts of the characters are being over-riden by the company & it's employees, namely the writers. I CANNOT stress enough how I find this method of storytelling unacceptable.
I knew there would be a cliffhanger because of course they gotta release more Diablo's for money. BUT at least make the cliffhanger feel.... Satisfactory.
I fear Diablo is reaching that point where the story should've ended but the companies are forcing it to continue on.
It truly feels like an "unknown" entity like Featherine Augustus Aurora, warped into Diablo's universe for some reason & used the power of "I am the author" to blatantly over-rule everything.
This was the Diablo, I was hoping to see a lot of nuance in.
After-all it was advertised as their darkest Diablo yet. Although it did turn dark a few times that were interesting more so than usual, it usually felt like the typical edge, you get in any Diablo. I was additionally also hoping to see some plot continuations that were left unanswered, where is The Nephalem from D3, where is Tyrael, will Imperius finally turn evil as hinted before & much more, but I digress.
The story played out predictably, a few curious writing decisions but it at least made sense up until Act 3, that is where the cracks began to form most clearly. Liith was making extreme decisions in the name of the greater good but characters couldn't see that yet. There were also character introductions & world building.
The characters being skeptical & weary of Lilith made sense from a lore perspective. Which is why I held out hope that my character would learn she was trustworthy or I'd get a choice option to side with her or perhaps see things play out differently, which only partially happened but alas I never got a good answer to that original question.
Just.... Let Inarius kill him? No attempt at self defense? To be honest, I was expecting it to turn out Mephisto killed Rathma, which would've been a sublime plot twist, as the prophecy merely states he saw the key lifted off his dead body, not by whom takes the key nor who killed him. However, I thought Rathma dying was acceptable because it played up Lilith being a caring mother & the tragic dynamic she had with Inarius.
Quite simply put every time he's on screen, I had a burning question "And why isn't my character telling him to literally go to hell?"
I was so happy my character was able to figure out The Wolf was Mephisto, and then.... My character just keeps trusting him? Wow & I thought Diablo was the cunning one. Apparently all Mephisto had to do to mostly win us over was.... Be mostly upfront & genuine?
His character pleasantly surprised me occasionally. He clearly enjoys walking around like a good boi for one. The "we all have our ups & downs" when called out about getting crushed, line was hilariously wholesome for a Prime Evil, the "I'm not going to lie, we will be enemies after this" felt genuine but still manipulative, him showing up being like "Hey buddy.... you seem to be in a bind" lines, him admitting to infecting Inarius with hate, the "all of humanities fate rests in your hands..... No pressure" vibe he gave off at the end, was funny but manipulative & at the end in hell, it really did feel for a moment he was a genius, using hate to turn everyone against each other almost effortlessly.
No, my issue is my character's opinion & response to Elias. My character has a right to be after Elias up until the part of the Underwater Rathma Temple. After-all he doesn't know Elias well & he could be getting manipulated since Lilith can apparently look into people's hearts.
My character finds out Elias is doing all this to save Sanctuary from a full on hell invasion, to which my character unironically says "I can't wait till I don't gotta listen to that guy" essentially
What???? You're literally doing anything you can to save Sanctuary, why are you upset?
And THEN your character learns that he didn't trust Lilith after-all which is why he made himself immortal just in-case he needed to stop her.
At that moment Elias is the best candidate to side with in the whole story. Join Lilith & if she turns bad you & Elias stop her.
At least she's not fully dead, I think, since lesser evils can reconstitute as well.
THESE characters are the ones I mostly, namely mean when I say it appears their characters were over-riden by the company & writers.
These characters are not fools, & once enlightened to the situation, they are over-riden by the authors to do otherwise.
I apologize if I jump around a bit here. The obvious good decision is to side with Lilith, the characters basically admit this multiple times.
Thankfully the writers were kind enough to let you ask questions, the kind of questions you know the characters would be asking themselves, the writers could've done worse & FORCED the characters to act stupid.
The whole story is "We're stopping Lilith for no other reason then she isn't human & she is possibly sus, even though we have proof she is no longer even sus, she has no alternate motives after-all"
The characters admit hell is coming, soulstones are hardly even a temporary solution & the eternal conflict is an awful cycle they are stuck in.
Nyrelle, Lorath & your own character all know not to trust Mephisto but do so anyway, trusting him on any level is bad, period.
Nyrelle thankfully points Lilith is LITERALLY the lesser of 2 evils. Imprisoning him was better than sealing Lilith, but it would've just been a better permanent solution to let Lilith consume Mephisto because she isn't a threat to Sanctuary, she just wants free of the cycle & her children to be ok without her. Mephisto wins regardless because soulstones are a temporary solution, nothing more, which the characters admitted.
Being a little tentative of Lilith at first made sense, she is indeed a demon who could be long gaming & her methods were extreme but compared to the endless conflict the hardship she caused was nothing by comparison.
The characters even admit being in Mephisto's hell feels you with hate & could barely handle it. Great, now imagine being born there but eventually learning empathy & love growing up in such a place, that's a miraculous feat Lilith pulled off. Lilith to my knowledge is literally the only trustworthy demon. She's no less trustworthy than Imperius.
It greatly annoys me that your character doesn't just align with Lilith.
Lorath at the end is like "Golly Gee everything is still awful & about to get worse but we knew that was going to happen"
Then why didn't you gamble on Lilith, what's the worst that could happen? Nothing worse than what Legion did or The Primes/Lessers are going to do in the future XD
Now it feels like we're back to square one with zero story progression. All the evils are roaming, no plans & Nyrelle is the Dark Wanderer 2.0
I feel the story they had could've been saved, if the final act was revised a bit to where you fought Lilith not as foes but as a test to prove humanity is fine without it's creators & you convincing Lilith to believe in your plan, than her fading away happily in peace knowing that although things are uncertain, her children are ready to face the oncoming threat. Then the cliffhanger better suggesting Nyrelle has a idea for a more permanent solution.

2023.06.11 00:31 NotAHappySunshine I hate Mr. Perfect Pt. 3

I hope y’all enjoy this :) sorry it took me so long! I think this might be a little NSFW as it is a little kinky but let me know if it is not. (Btw this is Zane’s POV)
1.5 months ago: My head is spinning, I feel so dizzy. I think something happened, I can’t remember what though. I remember… I was at a balcony, yes I was at Steel-Skull’s apartment and he was accusing me of having faked my death. I don’t know how or where he got that idea. I did my best to convince him otherwise but I doubt he believes me.
He knew my name, while my old name. Could he know? How would he? I don- shit. I know him. All my work of faking my death was for nothing. Camden knows. Camden, who is apparently my nemesis, knows me. My best- sorry ex-best friend knows who I am not only that but they are my worst enemy. I never thought he would remember, the doctors said he wouldn’t. They were positive he would forget, but he didn’t. I am screwed.
Wait. Where the hell am I? I am not at my house, I am not anywhere I have ever been before. I need to get out of here.
I stand up and look around the room. I see the rusty walls with corners covered in black dripping mold. Just looking at it makes my stomach churn. I forcibly shift my view to a door with a small window in it. I take a step forward and fall to my knees. My right leg has a thick metal band curled tightly around my ankle, the metal strap has a small 2 foot chain on it and is somehow part of the wall. How strange… normally something like that would just break or bend to let my leg pass through. Maybe I can break it by flying so high it just snaps. I adjust myself so I am properly prepared to let the wind pull me up. I move my fingers in the correct way I have always done to summon the wind. I expect to feel the air surrounding me but instead I feel the cold ground still touching me.
“What the fuck?”, I scream.
I feel a sharp pain in my ankle and realize I have been pulling against the metal. By doing that I ended up causing a major gash in my leg. I see blood pouring out of the wound and down my foot.
“Shit! My leg is bleeding! Why am I bleeding? I shouldn’t bleed! I don’t remember the last time I bled! How-?”, I rant trying to make sense of it all. I am so freaked out I don’t realize that I have curled into a fetal position as close to the base of the chain as I can. I start feeling my nose clog and notice the floor is soaked with tears. Shit, I shouldn’t cry. Crying is bad. I can’t cry.
I sniffle and try to calm myself down, when I am finally able to go a few seconds without a tear falling down my cheek I feel something stab into the back of my neck.
“Ow! What the hell?” I scream, feeling the sharp pain. I spin and see a figure cloaked in black sprinting out of the room and then slamming the door behind them. Ughhhh… what was that? I don’t feel so good. My vision goes blurry and slowly darkens. Fuck, I am so screwed! I am gonna die…
Ow… everything hurts. My eyelids won’t separate, I can’t move my limbs, my lips won’t part, my head feels so impossibly full that thoughts seem too difficult. What should I do? I feel… powerless. I hate this more than anything, I would rather do anything than feel this way.
My grandmother always said time wasn’t real, that everything was happening all at once. I was being born, taking my first steps, going to my first day of school, graduating highschool, getting my bachelors degree, suffering in whatever hell-hole I am in now, and… dying. All at the same time. I beg to differ, if everything is happening at the same time then how does this state of torture feel like forever. I have no way to know time, there is no pattern to the way anything goes. Sometimes I will be able to feel and wiggle my toes with no trouble for short amounts of time, others I will be fully out of it, sometimes I will hallucinate, sometimes I will just have long periods where I just endlessly think about anything.
I have noticed a pattern, before my mobility and thoughts are taken out of my grasp, there is always a small sharp object jabbed into my neck. I jump every time I feel it.
I am terrified. I don’t know how long I have been here. Why hasn’t anyone found me yet? I would think someone would come looking for a lost hero. Unless… people forgot about me, what if they stopped thinking about me as a hero? Who would replace me? How could they replace me?
Once again almost like clock-work I feel a sharp stab in my neck and feel myself get more sleepy. Right before I lose what consciousness I had left I feel a second jab, this time in my side. This one hurts more… I think it was a larger needle… It is hard… to breathe…
My eyes open for the first time in a while, it takes a while to adjust to the lights. Once I do, I see the shadowy figure again, they almost look 2-D. There are no highlights, or shadows, or any form of depth. They walk towards me holding something in their hand, it is made of metal. It makes a rattling sound. It looks like…chains? I try to move my hands and realize the reason I couldn’t move for all this time was because I have some sort of metal…thing sticking out of my wrists and ankles. It looks like a loop with a bar attached that goes through the opening in my skin. There is a lot of dried blood around it. The loop is attached to the wall by more metal hooks. I attempt to open my mouth to let a scream out but my lips don’t seem to separate.
“Stop that”, the shadowy figure says in a raspy voice. “You can’t remove the stitches, trust me it is impossible.”
Stitches? What… Is that why my mouth won’t work? I start wiggling my lips in all directions to hopefully break the stitches open or at least loosen them.
My moment of fear is stopped swiftly by a slap in the face. I look up and see the figure’s hand on the side of my face.
“I told you not to do that. Behave or else I will sew your eyes shut again”, they move to my left and snap the top hook in half letting my hand slide free. Before I could move my hand in any way they put the chain through the loop.
“Don’t worry this will only hurt for a moment”, they take the chain and hook it to something and press a button. Suddenly my wrist gets yanked forward, my arm and side follow in that direction. The chain keeps on getting pulled forward and I think my arm is going to dislocate. Then out of nowhere it stops being pulled. I am stuck in an awkward position that hurts my arm an unbelievable amount.
Over the course of what feels like days, my right arm and left leg are stretched in a similar fashion. Break the hook, let the limb be free for a millisecond, slide the chain in the loop, attach the chain to the hook, press the button, and suffer to the point of dislocation only for it to be stopped. Then the process repeats. The figure talks to me every once in a while, telling me to behave and do what they say.
“Alright… almost done… now I just have to…”, the figure says to themself. What are they talking about?

2023.06.11 00:26 ln4444 Stay away from this Company Beacon Fire Solution INC, New Jersey

If you want to hear my whole story about this company and see any similarities please quit immediately, and continue to read:
I was one of the candidates and got an offer from this company. First, there will be a person named "Anna" or some people who approached you after applying on Handshake, LinkedIn, or any job search website. They definitely will give you an offer after a couple of interview rounds, then they ask you to join their training program. Now, Your nightmare just begin !!!
After you complete the online training within 3 months (which cover some basic about JavaScript for my case). You will need to move to New Jersey. For those who live in the western states like CA (like most of my friends they come from California, Chicago, ...) you need to move in and pay for the rent no matter what. They will assign 3, or 4 people to an apartment and you have to pay the rent. I paid appx $700 per month (I think the rent may increase now)
After relocating to the company's location they assign you to stay (50 Millstone Rd, Building 300. Suite 120, East Windsor, NJ 08520). They MUST COME TO THE OFFICE EVERY SINGLE DAY. They will give you time to practice coding, do some leetcode, build projects, ... and start working on your resume which you MUST LIE. YES, you did not hear it wrong, COMPLETELY LIE ON YOUR RESUME. They TOLD you to find any companies (not too famous or not too big) then I put 2,3 companies to your resume and make it up to show you have at least 5 years of experience even if you just graduate. Depending on the requirement of the vendor (another third IT consultant that connects you to their clients like Goldman Sach, Google, Samsung, EOG, American Express, and bla bla bla ... ), you need to make up your resume. Every week, you need to practice behavior questions with an Indian girl, and of course, you HAVE TO FAKE IT ALL. LIE LIKE THE SAME ON YOUR RESUME.
At this point, some of my friends found this absolutely ridiculous and left. And you know what? They ask you to pay UP TO $9000 even more if you signed the contract and quit. (One of my friends paid the amount which is absolutely ridiculous and nonsense at)
THEN, if the marketing team assigns you to a client. You will have an interview with a vendor round and a client round. Some interviews directly come from clients. They will send you the list of all previous interview questions you need to learn and practice. In the interview, the coaches will stay behind the screen and support you during your interview. "SUPPORT" WHAT A JOKE! They send you all the answers that you are asked by the interviewer which is completely cheating. You will be on a group on Wechat, open Wechat during the interview and they will type the answer on the Wechat group in order for you to answer the questions.
The whole process is completely fake, a lie and it will destroy you if you are lucky enough to get an offer and then start working with a client. Another night just starts, because you lied on your resume for about 7 to 8 years of experience. Your team expects that you have that experience that you do not have. How do you handle the daily task of 7 to 8 years of an experienced developer? In fact, you just graduate.
The whole thing is just really ridiculous.

2023.06.11 00:11 Lordofthe305 CPWA Deception

CPWA Deception
The show opens with a moment of silence and a ten-bell salute for The late Iron Sheik.
The Iron Sheik 1942-2023
We open with a video package highlighting Shelton Jordan winning the CPWA World Heavyweight Championship and "The Number One Pick" LeJuan Jones scheming to regain the gold. We then see highlights of Keith Yang's matches and the return of Logan Lemming. We are then shown highlights of the Super Junior Carnival tournament, more specifically, Rory Irvine and "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon's path to the finals. The video package ends with slowed-down clips of Keith Yang, Logan Lemming, LeJuan Jones, and Shelton Jordan, who raises the CPWA World Heavyweight Championship over his head.
Sticky Fingaz's "Man Up" plays in the arena as we see pyro go off for a few seconds, followed by cheering from the crowd.
Brian Kinsley: We welcome to CPWA Annihilation! We are coming to you live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Brian Kinsley along with Anthony Harris and Sir Samuel Stewart, we have an action-packed pay-per-view that includes six championship matches, including the CPWA World Heavyweight Championship as Shelton Jordan defends his title against Keith Yang, Logan Lemming, and "The Number One Pick" LeJuan Jones.
Anthony Harris: Plus, we have the finals of the Super Junior Carnival tournament. I can't wait for that to go down.
Sir Samuel Stewart: It's definitely going to be a thriller of an event, and I think we may see some new champions.
Brian Kinsley: Let's get right to the action.
We cut to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for...
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Leo Arnaud's "Bulger's Dream" plays in the arena
Announcer: Introducing first, representing The Olympians, the team of Chip Day, Miles Orozco, and Devon Gatlin-Tyson.
Brian Kinsley: Devon Gatlin-Tyson looked like a would-be favorite to win the Super Junior Carnival tournament, but came up short against "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon in the semifinals.
Anthony Harris: Give Chip Day and Miles Orozco credit for helping DGT with those victories up to that point. I still believe he's going to be CPWA Cruiserweight Champion one day.
80s Synth Track Nightscapes plays in the arena.
Announcer: And their opponents, introducing first, from Los Angeles, the team of Mark Starr and Ricky Vice, StarrVice!
Brian Kinsley: Mark Starr and Ricky Vice competed in the Super Junior Carnival tournament, but it would be Ricky Vice who would face Devon Gatlin-Tyson in the quarterfinals and would lose thanks to the interference of the aforementioned Chip Day and Miles Orozco.
Sir Samuel Stewart: It really hurt Ricky's chances, but he wasn't the only one affected by The Olympians' number game.
M.O.P.'s "Fly N***a Hill F***a" plays in the arena.
Announcer: Their tag team partner, from Brooklyn, New York, he is one-half of the CPWA Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions, "The Hi-Fli Kid," Jerome Evans.

Brian Kinsley: "The Hi-Fli Kid" took on Devon Gatlin-Tyson in the first round of the Super Junior Carnival tournament and while it was a tremendous match, it would be soured by the interference of Day and Orozco.
Anthony Harris: Best believe all three competitors want some payback on Chip, Orozco, and DGT. Don't get it twisted, however, StarrVice may be teaming up with "The Hi-Fli Kid," but they also got their eyes on regaining the CPWA Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships.
Match 1: The Olympians (Chip Day, Miles Orozco, and Devon Gatlin-Tyson) vs. StarrVice (Mark Starr and Ricky Vice) and "The Hi-Fli Kid" Jerome Evans
You would think that an opening match like this one would get the crowd hyped for the rest of the event, but it felt underwhelming at times. While the story here was StarrVice and "The Hi-Fli Kid" looking to get a measure of revenge on Chip Day and Miles Orozco, neither competitor was looking sharp in the ring. Devon Gatlin-Tyson carried much of the match for his team, which was the only highlight for the Olympians. The action then became a spotfest, leading toward the end of the match, where DGT nailed Mark Starr with a Split-Second DDT to get the win for his team.
2 out of 5 stars.
We cut to backstage and we see Kevin Meyers interviewing CPWA World Heavyweight Champion Shelton Jordan. Shelton says that he's tired of LeJuan Jones's mind games and wants to put him away for good. He also says that he welcomes a challenge from Logan Lemming and Keith Yang, both of whom he will also defeat tonight.
We return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the CPWA Television Championship.
Nu Breed's "Florida" plays in the arena
Announcer: Introducing first, accompanied by his alligator Sunshine, from the Sunshine State, he is the CPWA Television Champion, "Florida Man" Gary Strange
Brian Kinsley: The last time "Florida Man" Gary Strange held an open challenge for the CPWA Television Championship, he lost to The Mortician.
Sir Samuel Stewart: Only for him to regain it back a few days ago on Octane.
Anthony Harris: No thanks to Pretty Boy, who will defend the CPWA Hardcore Championship against The Mortician later on tonight.
Gary Strange enters the ring and takes the mic as Nu Breed's "Florida" stops playing.
Gary Strange: Well well well, Florida Man holds CPWA gold once again and looking to take on any challengers brave enough to challenge me. Come on, don't be shy. I'm ready for ya.
Yoshida Brothers' "Storm" plays in the arena.
Announcer: Introducing first, from Kagoshima, Japan, he is Kenshiro Ishii.
Brian Kinsley: We haven't seen Kenshiro Ishii since High$takes and he looks more than ready to bring the fight.
Anthony Harris: Brotha looks jacked and he knows he means business.
Tego Calderon's "Mil Cosas" plays in the arena
Announcer: Finally, from San Juan, Puerto Rico, he is Ramon Vega!
Brian Kinsley: The last time we saw Ramon Vega, was back in January when he was teaming up with his brother Raymundo.
Sir Samuel Stewart: He took some time off to compete in his native Puerto Rico, but now he's back and looking to win some gold.
Match 2: CPWA Television Championship: "Florida Man" Gary Strange vs. Kenshiro Ishii vs. Ramon Vega
A solid yet rough-around-the-edges kind of match. There was lots of brawling from all three competitors, along with some technical wrestling from Ramon. It looked like Ramon Vega was close to winning the CPWA Television Championship, but "Florida Man" managed to prevent the three count from occurring. Gary Strange continued fighting back, leading to him hitting a WTF (Welcome To Florida) on Vega to get the three count and to retain the CPWA Television Championship.
3 out of 5 stars
We cut to the locker room area and we see "The Number One Pick" LeJuan Jones discussing strategy with Brother Julius about how to deal with Shelton Jordan, Keith Yang, and possibly Logan Lemming. Brother Julius tells LeJuan to focus more on his match and that he will deal with the other competitors tonight. LeJuan nods and Brother Julius sets out to put his plans in motion.
We return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 25-minute time limit.
Johann Sebastian Bach's Air on G String plays in the arena.
Announcer: Introducing first, from the posh hills of the Hamptons, she is Priscilla Pierce.
Brian Kinsley: Priscilla Pierce won big a few days ago on Octane in tag team action with help from "The Dominican She-Devil," Ivy Fernandez.
Sir Samuel Stewart: Priscilla Pierce looks to be on the fast track to challenging for the CPWA Women's International Championship.
DaniLeigh Ft. Fivio Foreign "Dominican Mami" plays in the arena.
Announcer: And her tag team partner, from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, she is "The Dominican She-Devil" Ivy Fernandez
Brian Kinsley: "The Dominican She-Devil" may have won gold in Puerto Rico, but word has it that she may challenge for the CPWA Women's Championship.
Sir Samuel Stewart: It could be a possibility, but let's see what happens.
GACKT's "Redemption" plays in the arena
Announcer: Introducing first, from Osaka, Japan, she is the CPWA Women's International Champion, Shiori Yoshimura.
Brian Kinsley: Shiori Yoshimura gained a victory over Priscilla Pierce two weeks ago on Octane, but lost in tag team action a few days ago. She's looking to get a measure of revenge.
Anthony Harris: Shiori's going to be a fighting champion for CPWA, and I know she's got to be fuming after that loss.
Estrada de Estrela plays in the arena
Announcer: Her tag team partner, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, she is the CPWA Women's Champion, Cristina Moreira.
Brian Kinsley: Cristina Moreira has been kept busy ever since winning the CPWA Women's Championship. She's been on a media whirlwind in her native Brazil, promoting CPWA.
Anthony Harris: I would love to do a show in Brazil. To all our Brazilian fans out there, CPWA sees you!
Match 3: Shiori Yoshimura and Cristina Moreira vs. Priscilla Pierce and "The Dominican She-Devil" Ivy Fernandez
Another solid match that saw some technical wrestling on display. While Cristina, Priscilla, and "The Dominican She-Devil" appear to be improving with their technical wrestling skills, Shiori was leagues ahead of them. Shiori controlled much of the match, even going as far as to utilize some power attacks. The match ended with Shiori hitting a Spinning Bison Bomb on Priscilla to get the win.
3 out of 5 stars.
We cut to backstage and we see Kimberly Reynolds interviewing Rory Irvine. Rory says that nobody believed in him when he decided to enter the Super Junior Carnival tournament and that he could go all the way. Rory says that he's made believers out of those who have followed his journey through the tournament and knows that he is going to become the inaugural Super Junior Carnival Tournament winner and challenge for the CPWA Cruiserweight Championship.
We return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 25-minute time limit.
Blood Brothers' "Replica" plays in the arena
Announcer: Introducing first, representing The Commonwealth, the team of Owen Benoit-Jericho and the CPWA Cruiserweight Champion Kelly Lawton!
Brian Kinsley: Both Owen Benoit-Jericho and Kelly Lawton entered the Super Junior Carnival tournament and while OBJ managed to go further than Lawton, neither one was able to reach the grand finals.
Sir Samuel Stewart: I know Kelly Lawton has to be feeling some of type way about that loss. Let's hope he can redeem himself should Rory Irvine win the whole thing.
Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" plays in the arena.
Announcer: And their opponents, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the team of Steve and Adam, the Odenkirks!
Brian Kinsley: Much like OBJ and Lawton, Steve and Adam Odenkirk also competed in the Super Junior Carnival tournament. Steve managed to reach the quarterfinals, while younger brother Adam lost in the first round.
Anthony Harris: The Odenkirk brothers look like they got something to prove and they're not looking to hold back anything.
Match 4: The Commonwealth (Kelly Lawton and Owen Benoit-Jericho) vs. The Odenkirks (Steve and Adam Odenkirk)
A solid tag team match that had a little something of everything: Technical wrestling, brawling, MMA, and high-flying. It was an evenly fought match until the Commonwealth uses underhanded tactics to keep the advantage in their favor, isolating Adam from Steve. Anytime Adam would tag in Steve, the referee did not see it. Eventually, Steve got the tag and was a house of fire, knocking down Lawton and OBJ. Steve looked to have the match won with a 450 Splash but "The Iron Maiden" Mary Addams interfered on behalf of the Commonwealth, pushing Steve off the top rope. This allowed Lawton to hit the Outback Cutter on Steve to get the win for his team.
4 out of 5 stars.
We get a one-minute video package hyping up Pretty Boy and his path of destruction. The hype package ends and we return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the CPWA Hardcore Championship.
An organ cover to Runaway Casket plays in the arena.
Announcer: Introducing first, from Resting Peace Funeral Home, he is The Mortician!
Brian Kinsley: The Mortician lost the CPWA Television Championship, thanks to Pretty Boy, who maniacally beat the living daylights out of him.
Sir Samuel Stewart: The Mortician knows what it takes to win the CPWA Hardcore Championship, but against Pretty Boy, I don't know.
The arena lights go out and we hear an ominous female voice.
Ominous Female Voice: Pretty Boy...oh Pretty Boy...punish...them...all!
Glitter Wasteland's "Cold War (Nightcrawler Remix)" plays in the arena as blue and red lighting fill the arena.
Announcer: And his opponent, he is the CPWA Hardcore Champion Pretty Boy!
Brian Kinsley: Pretty Boy has been on a rampage since winning the CPWA Hardcore Championship, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
Anthony Harris: That man is cold-hearted. I don't think I've ever seen him blink once.
Match 5: CPWA Hardcore Championship: Pretty Boy (c) vs. The Mortician
If you wanted a balls-to-the-wall, knock-down, drag-out hardcore match, this one was it! The Mortician and Pretty Boy wasted no time beating the living hell out of each other, but Pretty Boy gained the upper hand. Pretty Boy threw the Mortician around like a rag doll at times, followed by beating him with clotheslines and rainmakers. The Mortician started to fight back, using steel chairs, lead pipes, and even the ring bell on Pretty Boy. The Mortician looked to have made some dents in Pretty Boy, causing him to bleed, but it only made Pretty Boy aggressive as he battered the Mortician, leading to a chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver for the win.
4 out of 5 stars.
After the match, Pretty Boy continued beating the Mortician. Suddenly, Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" (Elliot Loud version) plays in the arena
Brian Kinsley: IT'S MANGOD!!!
Mangod rushed the ring and started beating up Pretty Boy, causing him to flee. Mangod then headbutts the turnbuckles as the crowd cheers wildly. Mangod helps the Mortician to his feet, raising his hand to the crowd's approval.
We cut back from intermission and we see Brother Julius walking down a hallway. He stops when Monroe Storm approaches him. Monroe tells Brother Julius that Logan Lemming has his sights on the CPWA World Heavyweight Championship as well and will stop at nothing to get it. Brother Julius warns Monroe that Logan better not cross "The Number One Pick" or he knows what's good for him. Monroe scoffs and walks away. Brother Julius shakes his head and does the same.
we return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the CPWA International Championship.
The Wellerman plays in the arena
Announcer: Introducing first, representing The Commonwealth, from Auckland, New Zealand, Jason Black
Brian Kinsley: We haven't seen Jason Black in a long time, and that's because he's been touring between Japan and his native New Zealand.
Sir Samuel Stewart: The Kiwi looks like he's poised to bring home some gold to The Commonwealth.
The March of Death theme plays in the arena.
Announcer: Next, from Guadalajara, Mexico, this is El Colibri
Brian Kinsley: El Colibri was one of the favorites to win the Super Junior Carnival, but it wasn't meant to be as he lost in the first round to "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon.
Anthony Harris: It was quite a shock, but let's see if he can rebound and get back to his winning ways.
Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth's "The Creator" plays in the arena.
Announcer: Finally, from Miami, Florida, he is the CPWA International Champion, Deron "Ron" Jordan.
Brian Kinsley: Deron "Ron" Jordan has been helping his brothers in their feud against "The Number One Pick" LeJuan Jones, but here, he's looking to defend his CPWA International Championship.
Anthony Harris: Let's hope he can retain it to keep more gold in the family.
Match 6: CPWA International Championship: Deron "Ron" Jordan (c) vs. Jason Black vs. El Colibri
This match wasn't good, but it certainly wasn't bad either. It was all over the place at times as there were some brawling mixed with some high-flying from Ron and El Colibri. Jason Black had control of the match, beating down El Colibri, but Ron prevented any chance of a three-count from happening. Both Ron and El Colibri double-teamed Jason Black, but they would turn their attention to attacking each other. El Colibri had Ron in the La Mistica, but Jason Black broke the hold. With Ron out of the way, this allowed Jason to hit the Blackout on El Colibri for the win and become the new CPWA International Champion.
2 out of 5 stars.
We get a one-minute video package hyping up The Hart Sisters (Crystal and Tracy) and their dominance over the Women's Tag Team Division. The hype package ends and we return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the CPWA Women's Tag Team Championships.
"Hitman" plays in the arena
Announcer: And their opponents, from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, they are the team of Crystal and Tracy, the Hart Sisters.
Brian Kinsley: We are in Canada, and the Hart Sisters are getting a huge ovation.
Sir Samuel Stewart: The Hart Sisters look to win big here tonight, and I have a feeling that they will.
Eminem's "Venom" plays in the arena.
Announcer: And their opponents, they are the CPWA Women's Tag Team Champions, Carnage Ayano and La Venena.
Brian Kinsley: Carnage Ayano and La Venena are a dangerous combination of Japanese Strong Style wrestling and Mexican Lucha Libre wrestling.
Anthony Harris: These ladies are psychotic in the ring. I've seen their matches in Japan and Mexico, so I know what they can do.
Match 7: CPWA Women's Tag Team Championship: La Venena and Carnage Ayano (c) vs. The Hart Sisters (Crystal and Tracy)
A somewhat decent match that had some great moments but at times, it was a botchfest, which was unusual for both teams. The Hart Sisters had control of the match, but Venena and Ayano started making a comeback. Crystal Hart managed to win the match for her team, placing Ayano in a sharpshooter to give her team victory and regain the CPWA Women's Tag Team Championship.
2 out of 5 stars.
We cut to backstage and we see Kevin Meyers interviewing Keith Yang on his title match. Keith says that he hopes that the third time is the charm and that he will become the new CPWA World Heavyweight Champion.
We return back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the CPWA Tag Team Championship.
GACKT's "Redemption" plays in the arena
Announcer: Introducing first, from Osaka, Japan, the team of Ryota and Daigo Yoshimura
Blake Shelton's "Good Ole Boys" plays in the arena.
Announcer: Next, from the great state of Tennessee, Roy and Zechariah, the Newton Boys.
Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" plays in the arena.
Announcer: Finally, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, they are the CPWA Tag Team Champions, William and Jake, the Odenkirks!
Match 8: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match for the CPWA Tag Team Championship: The Odenkirks (William and Jake) (c) vs. Ryota and Daigo Yoshimura vs. The Newton Boys (Roy and Zechariah)
This was a chaotic match with tons of high spots and lots of brawling. At one point in the match, Jake Odenkirk and Zechariah Newton climbed atop the ladder and beat each other with forearms and fists, leading to both men crashing through a table. This was followed up by a 450 Frog Splash combo from Daigo Yoshimura. Roy Newton saw an opportunity to reach for the gold, only for Ryota Yoshimura to powerbomb him off the ladder and onto some chairs. Unbeknownst to Ryota, William climbed atop the ladder and retrieved the CPWA Tag Team Championships.
2 out of 5 stars.

We get a three-minute hype package about the Super Junior Carnival tournament, along with highlights featuring Rory Irvine and "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon. The hype package ends with clips of Rory Irvine and Han Sang-Hoon staring at each other.
We cut back to the ring.
Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is the grand finals of the CPWA Super Junior Carnival Tournament.
The O'Reillys and Paddyhats' "Barrels of Whiskey" plays in the arena.
Announcer: Introducing first, from Dublin, Ireland, he is Rory Irvine.
Brian Kinsley: If you were to tell anyone that a young, plucky, yet scrappy wrestler from the Emerald Isle would find himself in the grand finals of the Super Junior Carnival Tournament, after going through numerous trials and battles, no one would've believed it, but here we are.
Sir Samuel Stewart: Young Rory Irvine has been waiting for such an opportunity and he's going to make the best of it.
Rain's "It's Raining" begins to play in the arena
Announcer: And his opponent, from Seoul, South Korea, he is one half of the CPWA Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions, "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon!
Brian Kinsley: "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon blazed a path of his own throughout the Super Junior Carnival Tournament, defeating the likes of El Colibri, Steve Odenkirk, and Devon Gatlin-Tyson. Could he win it all?
Anthony Harris: He may, but also keep in mind that he's also CPWA Cruiserweight Tag Team Champion with "The Hi-Fli Kid" Jerome Evans. How will that all turnout?
Match 9: CPWA Super Junior Carnival Tournament: Finals: Rory Irvine vs. "The Korean Idol" Han Sang-Hoon
This match was the highlight of the event and the best match overall. Rory had the early advantage, but "The Korean Idol" came fighting back. Rory hit the Celtic Crucifix Drop on Han, only to get a 2 count. Rory look to put the match away but Kelly Lawton, Owen Benoit-Jericho, and Mary Addams provided distractions toward the referee and jumped Rory. Han would get himself involved, chasing off Lawton, Addams, and OBJ, only to be met with a superkick from Chip Day and Miles Orozco, plus a split-second DDT from Devon Gatlin-Tyson. "The Hi-Fli Kid" Jerome Evans, along with StarrVice rushed to the ring and fought The Olympians. It was complete chaos as everyone began fighting on the outside. Rory went for the Celtic Crucifix Drop, only for Han to reverse it into a falcon arrow, leading to the K-Pop Drop for the victory becoming the inaugural CPWA Super Junior Carnival Tournament winner.
4 out of 5 stars.
After the match, Han Sang-Hoon extended his hand to Rory for a handshake. Rory accepted the handshake as both competitors celebrated together. Although Han won the tournament, the crowd cheered loudly for Rory, chanting his name.
We get a four-minute hype package featuring Shelton Jordan, Keith Yang, Logan Lemming, and "The Number One Pick" LeJuan Jones. The hype package ends and we return back to the ring.

Announcer: Introducing first, from Shanghai, China, he is Keith Yang.
Brian Kinsley: IT'S YANG TIME!!!
Buckshot, Skyzoo, Promise, and Sean Price's "I'm Better Than You" plays in the arena.
Announcer: And their opponents, introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Brother Julius, from Columbus, Ohio, "The Number One Pick," LeJuan Jones.
Motley Crue's "Shout At The Devil" plays in the arena.
Announcer: His tag team partner, accompanied to the ring by Monroe Storm, from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, he is Logan Lemming.
The Roots' "Do You Want More" plays in the arena.
Announcer: And their opponents, introducing first, representing The Jordan family, from Miami, Florida, he is the CPWA World Heavyweight Champion, Shelton Jordan.
Match 10: CPWA World Heavyweight Championship: Shelton Jordan (c) vs. Keith Yang vs. "The Number One Pick" LeJuan Jones vs. Logan Lemming
There was lots of action going on in this fatal four-way. Everyone seemed evenly matched at first, but Logan Lemming took control of the match, suplexing anyone that got in his way. Not to be outdone, Shelton Jordan performed several Exploder Suplexes on each of his opponents. Although Keith Yang got in some offense, he would be taken out by Ivan Markov. This allowed Logan Lemming and LeJuan to double-team Shelton Jordan. It looked like the double team was working, but both competitors weren't going to allow the other to get the pin. This led to Logan and LeJuan fighting each other. Logan was about to hit LeJuan with Logan's Run, but the Soldiers of Misfortune (General Wade and Guerrilla God) prevented that from happening, saving LeJuan from any harm. The Soldiers of Misfortune double power-bombed Logan and then Shelton, leading to LeJuan to hit a Game Winner on both Logan and Shelton to get the win and regain the CPWA World Heavyweight Championship.
4 out of 5 stars.
LeJuan Jones is presented with the CPWA World Heavyweight Championship as the pyro goes off and the crowd jeers and boos. LeJuan Jones and Brother Julius celebrate as Deception fades to black.

2023.06.11 00:05 sophie9709 Sekiro critiques blind obedience and advocates for intelligent disobedience

“Its fundamental causes are to be found in the ingrained conventions of Japanese culture: our reflexive obedience; our reluctance to question authority; our devotion to ‘sticking with the program’; our groupism; and our insularity.”
- Kiyoshi Kurokawa (at the time, Tokyo University professor emeritus), on the causes of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
Welp, I was wrong. Turns out, you can indeed write a long-form post about intelligent disobedience in a subreddit about video games. By the way, I'm not Japanese, but I will be writing about my take on Japanese culture. If you are Japanese, feel free to correct me regarding anything that I have written.
Spoilers the size of GENERAL GYOUBU ONIWA's ego ahead because I will be talking about the endings a lot. You have been warned!

Japan's issues with 'reflexive obedience'

Do you guys remember the Fukushima nuclear disaster? It did happen 12 years ago so it is indeed possible that some of you guys are not even aware it even happened. I did. I remember the talks of nuclear water spewing into the ocean, and how it might affect the Pacific Ocean. I remember seeing on TV the whole area evacuate, and how there are refugees even now from the disaster. I remember being aghast in horror when I learnt that the disaster was partially caused by bad building design, including how backup diesel generators were placed at sea level, vulnerable to any tsunamis. It, however, took me many many more years to learn that the disaster was not wholly natural. Rather, not only did it have a major human element, it was almost completely preventable. Yet, because of Japan's cultural quirks, it wasn't. As Kurokawa pointed out in the inquiry report, the disaster was "made in Japan."
So, what exactly is it about Japan's culture, especially in the workplace, that made Fukushima nuclear disaster pretty much inevitable? As Kurokawa had succinctly summarised, Japanese workplaces are notoriously hierarchical. Subordinates are expected to show respect to their higher-ups. This includes not disagreeing with them to their face and of course doing what you are told. Higher-up's decisions are not always questioned as much as they should be...such as the decision to build a nuclear power plant on a known fault line. Heck, the area even had stones dating from hundreds of years ago warning people not to build below that line because of the dangers of tsunamis, and the power plant was built below that.
An extreme example turned out to have happened during the Fukushima disaster itself because the Prime Minister at the time, Naoto Kan, had a notoriously strong personality. He wanted to help make the most minutiae of decisions, and would even yell at experts that disagreed with him. Kan at the time got away with it because he was at the top of the hierarchy, and people were afraid to question him. As a result, the disaster response was not as good as it could have been.
But there is a little bit more to Japanese hierarchy than the whole "top-down" approach you might be used to. Japanese culture also emphasises consensus (the "sticking with the program’" "groupism"). A fantastic example would be Nemawashi (根回し). In summary, this practice has people make extensive consultations with everyone affected within the company regarding a proposed change or project. Before the project or change can go ahead, everyone needs to agree to it. 99% Invisible did a fantastic side piece on it in their episode on Hanko stamps. Of course, if there is momentum within the company to support a change, you don't want to be the one to disagree with it and potentially stop the project in its tracks. That would make you pretty unpopular. So sometimes, people would be pressured into agreeing to something, even if they privately disagree with it.
Did the Fukushima nuclear disaster influence the themes of Sekiro? I don't know. The disaster happened in March 2011. The inquiry led by Kurokawa released its report in 2012. The development of Sekiro was said to have started in 2015. No doubt Miyazaki was deeply aware of the disaster being a Japanese person himself, and it could have influenced him to write about the follies of leaders in his other video games, such as Dark Souls III and Elden Ring. I'll leave this thread to someone who has more knowledge on the matter.
By the way, 'reflexive obedience' has caused other issues in Japan apart from the Fukushima disaster. For example, it is cited as one of the causes of the Toshiba accounting scandal, in which it was found that its PC division was overstating profits by at least $ 1 billion.
With that said, I don't think this 'reflexive obedience' pattern of behaviour is just a Japanese thing. Sure, it may be more prevalent in Japan, but it has popped up in Western situations, practically in contexts of widespread company fraud. A much more macho, toxic, and greedy version existed in the final years of Enron, and no doubt helped the directors create the fraud as big as it was. I recommend Alex Gibney's documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room regarding the matter.
(By the way, I'm not even going to begin speculating how the whole 'reflexive obedience' came about because I don't want to suddenly have a Bachelor of Japanese Culture or something like that. From what I can tell, it has roots in Confucianism and the whole 'obey your elders' thing that is prevalent in East Asian cultures, but I don't know).

Reflexive obedience in the game

I hope by now that I have laid down the groundwork well enough that you would be reminded of one very specific thing in the game: The Iron Code.
One! The parent is absolute. Their will must be obeyed
Two! The master is absolute. You give your life to keep him safe. You bring him back at any cost.
Three! Fear is absolute. There is no shame in losing one battle. But you must take revenge by any means necessary!
I have heard this many times from Owl, because quite frankly it took me a long time to git gud. Back to the Code. According to it, as Owl is his father and therefore his superior, Sekiro should obey everything Owl says... up to and including killing friends and abandoning Kuro. And we know how that goes! Miyazaki was certainly not subtle in critiquing blind obedience in that regard!
But the critique goes further than that. Miyazaki is saying in the game that we should question all of our superiors, even the ones that are benevolent and well-meaning because even they might not know everything and you might come up with an even better solution to issues at hand. For example, if we had blindly followed Kuro's orders instead, we end up...not actually solving the problem. Sekiro ends up being a former shell of himself. In nine months' time, another divine heir will be born. In a few years' time, everyone will start fighting over their blood again. Another shinobi will come to the temple and look for the prosthetic. Kuro's sacrifice will be for naught. So, by even disobeying Owl, you accidentally land yourself in another bad ending. Sure, the ending in which Kuro sacrifices himself is not the worst ending ever, but it's still depressing.
So, how do you get to the good endings? How do you actually go about fulfilling Kuro's wishes of stopping the bloodshed and corruption of humanity caused by the presence of the divine blood? By practising intelligent disobedience.

What is intelligent disobedience?

Intelligent disobedience is when an order is given but deliberately ignored because following that order would lead to unforeseen negative consequences the orderer might not have predicted. The most common example of intelligent disobedience is the training of service animals. For example, a seeing-eye dog would immediately stop in front of the stairs. If the blind person the dog is assisting gives the command to go forward, the animal would not budge. The dog would only move if given a specific command that indicates the blind person is aware of the stairs and that it is safe to move. If the dog had blindly (ba dum tsh) followed the command to move forward, then the blind person would not be aware of the stairs. They would then tumble down, and hurt themselves badly. By disobeying the command to move forward, the dog is preventing a negative outcome. Note how intelligent disobedience is different from plain old disobedience.
  1. Intelligent disobedience is done in good faith e.g. to prevent a negative consequence, or to protect people, or to help achieve a better outcome; and
  2. The being disobeying the order has knowledge the orderer does not.
Ira Chaleff has advocated for intelligent disobedience to be used in human-to-human interactions as well, particularly in contexts where negative outcomes can be disastrous. He does note that respect is still needed and that the best way to go about it is to collaborate with the authority figure. Do question questionable orders, give your reasonings as to why you think the orders are unsuitable to attain the suitable outcome and work with your authority figure to find better solutions.
In the good endings, Sekiro...doesn't quite follow Chaleff's version of intelligent disobedience. He seems to more closely follow the guide dog's version of it by not just obeying Kuro's commands. Sure, he goes around collecting the ingredients for severing immortality on Kuro's command, but as soon as he figures out what it truly entailed and what it meant for Kuro, he can start doing his own thing. He can do research independently of Kuro and even decide to keep it a secret from his master.
I can see why he won't want to talk about it with Kuro however. He might not want Kuro to know that he is going against his master's wishes or is afraid Kuro will just command him to stop. After all, he is very socially awkward. He might not even know how to broach the topic.
(I do like the Purification route because it is when Sekiro learns to trust someone else that is not Kuro. If you complete the requirements, Emma becomes one of Sekiro's confidants and conspirators. He even becomes fond of her at the end.)
The Purification and Dragon Homecoming endings follow intelligent disobedience because:
  1. Sekiro does it out of love for Kuro and respect for Kuro's wishes. In the Purification route, he is giving Kuro a mortal life, unburdened by his divine blood, and a chance to be able to open a tea shop. In the Dragon Homecoming route, he is going to return the Divine Heritage back to its rightful place, which in turn will permanently stop it from corrupting the people and land (hopefully). Kuro wants the outcomes from the two endings, sure, but this is a FromSoft game. Completely happy endings are illegal. Sekiro can only fulfil one wish but not the other.
  2. Both endings require Sekiro to not only just get information from Kuro, but to listen to everyone around him. For example, Sekiro and Emma collaborate to meet the requirements for Purification, while he has to interact with the Divine Child a lot to get any chance of being able to pull of the Divine Homecoming ending. By the end, he comes to know of two other options that Kuro does not know about.

In conclusion: Sekiro is a critique of 'reflexive obedience' prevalent in Japan and a subtle advocate for intelligent disobedience

And if you want to achieve the best endings in life? Be smart, be kind, and listen to everyone around you. If you know something bad is going to happen, speak up and don't be afraid to collaborate with your authority figures. If you are in a position of authority, be aware of your follies. Listen to your underlings; they might know something that you don't.

GLORIOUS Estonia Sends Me Their Entire Population as an Expeditionary Force submitted by PreussenEwige to hoi4 [link] [comments]

2023.06.10 23:49 redditorguymanperson I’m playing dmc: devil may cry for the first time this thread will be little notes I make along the way.

So as the title says I’ll just be saying what I like or dislike as a big fan of the classic devil may cry games. So far my biggest issue is how they make Dante kind of a douchebag instead of a badass like he once was.
Note after mission 1: Well I don’t like the lack of lock on. It really fucks with me in gameplay regards. However I will say I like the combos, the combining feels smooth but less free then the classic dmc’s. However it does still feel smooth with the exception of the movement however it’s only the first mission so maybe it’ll be better later on. I’ll say the same with the styles because I’m really missing Royal guard. As for the characters and story of course my number one complaint is Dante himself. He doesn’t look like Dante he looks like a Supercuts model wearing a dirty burlap sack as a fucking coat. But the fact they covered his cock and balls with a piece of pizza in the first cutscene almost makes up for it. But unlike his cock and balls the demon has a big grappling hook and bigger ambitions of sending donte back to the frat house. Overall so far the game is a solid 6/10.
Note after mission 2: I’ve gotten a little bit more used to the lack of lock on however I’ll consistently accidentally press B when I get hit on instinct for Royal guard which is more of a me problem but I figured it was worth mentioning. I’ve unlocked 3 weapons in one level. An axe called the arbiter. It’s slow but hits like a belt from a stepdad. The ophion which is spelt weird but is basically just a grappling hook. There are 2 variations an angel one and a demon one. Personally I prefer the angel one but the demon one is helpful against shield enemies. And last and my personal favorite the Osiris. I don’t know who the fuck keeps coming up with these names but the Osiris is pretty fucking cool. It’s just this big ass scythe that feeds off of the souls of enemies making it do more damage. It also does great damage against multiple demons at once. I personally really fuck with it. As for the story aspect Vergil pulled up with a fucking fedora. They literally turned the most based character in the original series into a goddamn trench coat wearing, katana wielding, fedora enthusiast, weeb. Why? Why would they do any of that? But they’ve fleshed out donte a little more trying to make him give a shit now which is interesting im curious to see how the story will develop knowing fuck all about this game except people said it was caca pee pee poo poo. So far as of this a good 7/10 also I like that Dante can keep his sword in his tattoo that’s cool.
Notes after mission 3: Do all the damn missions take place in limbo? What is this a fucking beach? Jokes aside I’m really starting to get into the flow of the combat. It’s not as good as dmc 4 or 5 due to the restrictiveness of the combat but I still enjoy it. It reminds me more of Spider-Man shattered dimensions or edge of time than dmc which is fine because I love those games. I’ve also unlocked the angel boost which is just trickster style off a perc but I still appreciate and makes the movement more fun. The story is even getting ok. If you literally just took the dmc name off of this it would be infinitely better. Because when I hear Vergil pronounce Yamato like he has 49 retainers in his mouth or not saying anything about power I want to go down the route of my grandpa and grab a bottle of Jack Daniels. Or just any of dontes dialogue just hurts me because it’s not the Dante, it’s nothing like the real Dante. He’s more like 13 year old me going through my emo phase. “No mom I told you I’m a loner with trust issues.” I get his whole arc is supposed to be revolving around him changing that but when he still acts like that it hurts me. Anyway overall 6.5/10 and also I like the blue rose nero reference that’s kind of gamer.

What Ranked Distribution is Vs. What it should be (TL;DR)
I'm not a good player, which is why I'm posting this here. I would like to hear the opinion of more seasoned players. I've always found ranking interesting regardless of what game I've played.
Season 17
Season 11
I've noticed most ,if not all seasons, have groupings of players at a certain rank, which seems unhealthy/flawed. This is what it should look like instead:

More Detailed Info
SC2 Ranked History Distribution
Obviously, they can play around with the percentages, amount of ranks, and the number of top players they have for the highest rank.
The idea is that each rank has a set number of players that changes based on the number of people that play ranked. If a player from Silver moves to Gold then the lowest MMR player from Gold is demoted to Silver. You are only rewarded at the end of the season based on your rank at that time, which gives players an incentive to keep playing.
Additionally, there should be numerous divisions within each League, with each division being composed of up to 100 players. Each of these divisions should have a leaderboard that you can access in-game that shows players' names, their finish in the last five games, and their most played legend. I think it will make progression much more meaningful, fun, and competitive. It also gives the best players a lot of exposure.
You can also have separate leaderboards and progression for solo queuing with randoms, 2 stacks in trios, 3 stack in trios and the same with duos.
Of course you cannot just copy pasta the SC2 system in Apex, but it feels like a solid foundation to work from. I can write a lot more about this, but it's already too long for today's attention span. I am curious to hear your thoughts.
Stay safe my friends.

2023.06.10 23:22 fulminic UFO lore and recent revelations seem to be largely based on a 1998 story from UFO mag. It covers crash retrieval programs, various alien types, "biological robots," and project Zodiac. Puthoff and Kitt Green have referenced this story. Here's a text extract.

Edit; title better should have said "aligned with" instead of "based on"
Deep Files: Trans-"X"Communiqué: Letter to a UFO Recruit by Greg Halifax
What you're about to read is largely unverified. But that doesn't mean it's not true. It's the type of UFO information that would typically be deeply buried, then carefully studied and compartmentalized by a small faction within the intelligence community, as suits any sensitive black operation. As such, straightforward corroboration is difficult at best. But UFO Magazine has the advantage of more than a decade's worth of collected bits of information and broad-based facts on which to construct some fair extrapolations. Drawn from a range of sources, the following incident reflects upon one of the blackest of American covert operations that deal directly with the UFO phenomenon.
Recruitment and Background
They recruited him when he was fresh from a not-too-harrowing assignment in the Middle East. This was one area of the globe, at least, where the CIA had little trouble justifying its existence. Having some military background, Sedge Masters wasn't too surprised when he was called back for another briefing about the new foreign technology assignment overseen from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. What he'd heard at the first briefing didn't exactly fire his professional instincts. The task sounded less than challenging. He was assured that more information would be coming his way, and that much of it would change his mind about the degree of intrigue his new assignment would hold.
Induction into the Program
Clearances intact, Masters arrived on the base in short order. He was issued a security badge and escorted by an airman to an unmarked building. Once inside, he was escorted by the airman into a room where his security badge was taken from him and a different one given to him in its place. A different airman with a uniform that Masters had not seen before, armed with an M-16 and a sidearm, escorted him into a private room. That man left, and in less than two minutes, another armed and uniformed man entered. He said nothing: Masters was used to this routine. When the soldier had positioned himself in front of the door, Masters turned around to a table on which lay a thick packet of papers. One more glance at the impassive soldier, and Masters began to read.
Introduction Letter
The letter on top carried a number on the first page, but no date or letterhead. "Dear Mr. Masters," it began, "Consider this a deeper introduction to your present assignment. As you were told in last week's special briefing, you were selected for the program less for your wide intelligence background and technical skills than for the results of your psychological profile, both the one you took when you first joined the agency and the one administered earlier this year..."
Pre-WWII Sightings and Post-War Investigations
During the years preceding World War II, informal contacts made by Americans touring in Europe - tasked to do so by then-attorney William Donovan (who was later the head of the OSS in World War II) - revealed that there had been a number of sightings of unusual aerial phenomena and craft over European skies, particularly in the vicinity of German military facilities. The rush of events focused the attention of the military and the OSS on other matters of more pressing concern, although it had been resolved to look into these reports again at the war's conclusion.
The Roswell Incident
Before there could be a full assessment of the implications of these events, in July 1947, two crafts were recovered from the desert near the Roswell Army Air Corps bomber base. One of the crafts was a deltoid wing "lifting body" which had suffered a rupture to the crew compartment and some impact distortion, but which was otherwise intact. The other craft had completely disintegrated either before or upon impact.
Hypotheses and Discoveries
Although there were working hypotheses that these crafts were either (1) secret Soviet surveillance craft designed to spy upon the many advanced technical and military facilities in that region, (2) crafts from some "other dimension" the details of which were and remain unspecified by the proponents of this hypothesis, or (3) crafts from our own future exploring the past through an unknown temporal travel mechanism, it soon became clear that these crafts were from some planet or solar system other than our own, as they were occupied by two kinds of beings which clearly were not of earthly origin.
Extraterrestrial Evidence
The occupants of the deltoid craft were largely intact after the crash. When the special recovery team established for this purpose located the crash, two of the occupants of the deltoid craft were still alive, although one was badly injured and would later die upon being taken to the Roswell Air Corps base. The other survivor was alive and remained so for almost 30 days after the crash. It was able to walk and seemed to understand that it was a captive among intelligent beings like itself. All efforts at communication with the survivor were inconclusive and largely unsuccessful. The three other occupants were dead when the recovery team found them. The general appearance of these creatures was as reported in the recently published, somewhat fanciful 'investigative' books on the subject which have received a certain amount of popular acceptance and which resulted in the recent 50th-anniversary celebration of this event. (Popular attention to this event remains strong.)
Second Craft and Biological Robots
The occupants of the second craft were not found for several more days, as their bodies had been ejected in what appeared to be safety pods similar in purpose to those later employed in such high-performance aircraft as the B-58 Hustler and XB-70 supersonic bombers. These creatures were longer in dimension than the ones of the deltoid craft, and their bodies were dispersed over a much wider area due to the disintegration of their craft. All were dead when found, with their bodies much deteriorated from prolonged exposure to the elements and some having been partially eaten by coyotes and other creatures, all of the latter of which were found dead near the alien corpses.
Analysis of the animal remains and the alien bodies led to the conclusion that the animals died from poisoning caused by ingestion of chemicals in the alien flesh. It appeared that the second group of aliens could not survive if exposed to the Earth's atmosphere. The need to remove all evidence of the event from the two crash sites limited the amount of crash reconstruction which could be accomplished by the recovery team, with the consequence that it has never been made clear what exactly caused the crash.
Cover-Up and Suppression
Unfortunately, the large number of civilian and military personnel who witnessed physical evidence at the crash sites and back at the Roswell base created a significant security hazard which was dealt with by intimidation and bribery of the witnesses to the extent that those means proved effective. Until unofficial investigators, journalists, writers, and others began renewing investigation of the subject in the early 1980s, these techniques were largely successful in keeping the truth of the Roswell event from the public, as well as its ominous implications.
Alien Autopsies and 'Biological Robots'
The autopsies on the bodies of the creatures showed that they were of very light build and clearly not from this planet. The simplicity of their brain structures and non-communication in the face of stalwart efforts by researchers led investigators at the time to conclude that they were not the original designers and builders of the craft involved in the incident. Rather, it seemed that they were 'biological robots,' designed and bred for the purpose of undertaking such dangerous missions as flying through the atmosphere of an alien world. The survivor finally died when its body accumulated toxic waste products from its metabolism. There were no apparent excretory system or sexual organs. Consistent with this 'biological robot' hypothesis was the complete absence of any galley or food stores aboard the craft. Of course, the possibility of there being a 'mother ship' from which these craft came was also considered, as was the less likely possibility that these small craft could themselves attain transluminal speeds.
The Alien Technology
The propulsion system of the craft, of obvious priority interest to our group, was indeterminate for long after its recovery. While still subject to the laws of physics (as we imperfectly understand them), the craft's workings went far beyond our technological grasp at that time. Unfamiliar, nearly magical technology was displayed, devices that we now know as integrated circuits, fiber optics, supertenuous fibers and metals, and an unfathomable power source and drive mechanism, as well as other technology which it is not necessary to discuss in this document.
Implications and The Zodiac
The military implications of the presence of these craft in our atmosphere and the possibility that they may have established friendly communications with our Cold War enemies were obvious and unsettling. The discovery of these craft led to an equally unsettling reexamination of the European intelligence reports referred to above, as well as the postwar investigation by Gen. Jimmy Doolittle of the "ghost rockets" of Norway (see appendix C, attached, top secret report of Gen. James Doolittle). The President was made aware of these developments and ordered the formation of a special group of prominent scientists, Cabinet, military and intelligence officers.
The popular literature bandies about the name of "Majestic 12" or "MJ-12" for this special, secret task force formed by the President. Other names by which it has been identified in the public mind through disinformation programs are "Project Saucer" and "Aquarius." While it is possible that any one or more of these was the name of the group at one time, for most of its existence the code name for the group and the extensive program which it spawned has been and still is "Zodiac," with each of its operational subdivisions known by the name of a different zodiacal sign, including Aquarius.
The Decline of Government Involvement in Zodiac
As the years passed, the operational involvement of high government officials in Zodiac waned to a certain degree, especially with the conclusion of the Eisenhower Administration, although most presidents were still kept informed of key overview facts as they came to light. However, it fell to the Agency's supervisors of Zodiac to determine who else in the government should have access to this very closely-held and highly compartmentalized information, to the point that, like the heads of military intelligence before World War II, they sometimes decided not to share information with certain presidents, including Nixon and Ford.
All other presidents were kept reasonably well-informed, including Jimmy Carter, who went back on his pledge to reveal all of the information the government had on UFOs once he was elected president.
Agency Control and Alien Craft Recovery
As of the early 1980s, the Agency exercised complete control over Zodiac, with the cooperation of the rest of the intelligence community and the military branches, particularly the Air Force and the Navy. From 1947 to the early 1980s, Zodiac recovered eleven other alien craft in various states of disrepair, from a diminutive single-seat flying wing to a rather large craft that had to be trucked into Wright Patterson by dead of night.
Extraterrestrial Beings and Technological Discoveries
Besides the technology, the beings found with these craft are central to the Program's investigations. There seem to be at least four types of occupants, the two described above, as well as humanoids that appear to be almost human and Nordic in appearance, and small, strong, hairy ones.
An Unsettling Incident and New Assignment
Details of the following incident should be carefully considered and recalled, as they will be useful to you during the first phases of your assignment. By the late '60s, Zodiac had been able to recruit members of an elite recovery team.
Within the last 48 hours, the team was dispatched to a remote site in the Midwest where a craft and bodies were collected and ferried to the appropriate locations, seemingly without incident. This time, it’s become clear to our debriefing teams at Wright Patterson that the first members questioned could not account for an hour and a half's worth of time spent at the site.
You have been selected to be part of a newly forming debriefing team whose task will be the correlation and analysis of these events. Your assignment is to find out why even the most senior members of the team shared in this memory gap, and to find out what happened during that hour and a half.
Instructions for the Report
Your report is to be in writing and is to have one original and no copies. It is to be hand-delivered by you to me. It is to bear the security stamps "TOP SECRET," "ZODIAC" and "EYES ONLY." You will let no one see your report but me and you will not share its contents with those with whom you are working at Wright Patterson without my authorization.
Very Truly Yours, Col. David H., USAF
Masters read it through again. When he looked up, an Air Force captain had entered the room. "Are you finished with the letter?" he asked in a flat tone. "I'm done with it," Masters sighed, and for the first time in his professional career heard his own voice waver with what sounded like nervousness. He handed the letter to the captain, who took it without comment, counting the pages.
The captain took out a cigarette lighter and lit the corners of the pages, gingerly dropping them into a red "burn barrel," stirring the ashes with a metal rod. After the papers had been reduced to small wisps of white ash, the captain took another piece of paper out of his briefcase, signed it, and presented it to the airman, who also signed it. The airman then presented it to Masters, who signed the sworn declaration of witnessing the destruction of the document.
Here's the deep dive article by Dolan that also includes the full scan of the UFO mag article. It connects dots between the recent revelations, the Davis/Wilson notes etc.
ChatGPT helped convert the barely readable pdf-to-text conversion to something readable, but preserving the content, only added headers and formating. I was out of tokens so I couldn't convert the other chapters, they're very interesting as well. All chapters are in the provided link.
Just to be clear, not making claims or drawing conclusions just wanted to share this before 3rd part Reddit apps will be killed at 30 June. Yeah fuck you, spez

* * * PLAN A * * \*
RACE WARS: We will see the fanning of the flames of their planned RACE WAR program in the months ahead as government, through some of their covert national organizations, promotes "whites hating people of color" and vice-versa. Aided by their controlled media, and N.W.O. government-paid agitators/"leaders" on both sides, the goal is to frighten Americans, of all colors, into accepting Martial Law.
These elitists actually have no love for "minorities" or "commoners" of any race. Those who have studied these imperialists will notice that there is continual intermarriage among these super-rich Internationalists' families. NEVER do they participate in the mixing of blood other than BLUE BLOOD.
The race mixing program was created for their "subjects" - i.e. the world's common people of all races. Some of these Internationalists have stated over the years, "...when all other humans are of one color, (brown), then they will be more easily managed."
Racial strife is one of their most important N.W.O. tools and they mean to keep it going. It has worked well for promoting the globalist cause in the recent past. HATE must be kept flowing to prevent the various races in America from finding out the truth. If they find out who is destroying their freedoms and economic future, they might find some way to work together to overthrow their COMMON ENEMY.
Our problem is in identifying these N.W.O. lackeys (agent/provocateurs). Incoming intelligence over the years has informed us that these provocateurs are of all racial mixes. Yes, whites, blacks, hispanic etc. are involved in promoting planned racial hate incidents and tensions to assist in causing the masses to accept Martial Law and serve the N.W.O. gang. Although these employee/provocateurs have been promised a position of power in this "utopian" Socialist society, it is a shame that they are not smart enough to know that they are to be "eliminated" when their usefulness has run out. (As has been the practice of every Marxist/Socialist conquering army after taking power.)
There is sound logic in this "execution of your agent/provocateurs", after you're in power. The logic is: "If these agents will spy and turn against their own people, then their is no way you can trust them to not turn on you." VERY TRUE! The other shame is that no tears will be shed for these traitors to their own people.
* * * PLAN B * * \*
The globalists, along with their controlled media, are well along in the promotion of their PLAN B program. Here it is: With the threat of nuclear war supposedly subsiding, the American people "must have" a new Boogie Man!
ECOLOGICAL COLLAPSE: This phase involves the fraud of the "imminent ecological collapse of the world". This phase is being promoted by those who were not able to completely destroy America with Marxism. These N.W.O. Marxists have therefore started, or taken over, the various GREEN (environmentalist) parties.
Many of these environmentalists are rightfully labeled the "Watermelons of the world". That is to say, green on the outside, but RED (Marxist) on the inside. Many wonderful, good, well-intentioned Americans are being duped into assisting with this fraud. Sadly, some are our families and friends.

* * * PLAN C * * *

VISITORS FROM FAR: This phase makes certain that few Americans escape the N.W.O. program. How? By creating TOTAL PANIC. This is accomplished with 3 choices being offered to the gullible. The Globalists have "suddenly" brought to light their long planned and well established "UFO-Little-Devils-from-Outer-Space" CON, to strike utter fear in the hearts of all the people of the earth.
In other words, this particular plan is to convince gullible Americans that anyone or anything (but that Jesus Christ "guy"), WILL SAVE OUR WORLD!
Quite "coincidentally", these same "funny little fellows" are also here to set up a UTOPIAN GLOBAL SOCIETY! Surprised?
Is there something there? ..."OUT THERE"? Absolutely! But, are THEY truly coming from "out-there"? We are not to be told, at this time, the truth about what these entities are, or who has absolute control over them. If we were told the truth we would never fall for their New World Order UFO con.
It is sad to see coming true what the Scriptures foretold, namely, that some of the most spiritual and intelligent people in our world are being completely deceived by our government and "spiritually enlightened" con men ...(and women).
As foretold, it's happening before our eyes. SHAME!
In all seriousness, for anyone that does not believe that the UFO scare is a contrived fraud, it should be agreed that the wise position to take is on the side of caution. Consider it possible that those who promote the N.W.O. plan are presently involved in a "trial run" of all three of the above described UFO scenarios. Such plans are being promoted by the Globalists, among those whom they consider to be the "Wacko", "Radical", "Extremist", Nationalist, Pro-American organizations, in order to test which scenario is more acceptable. For example, pick any one of the three scenarios below:
  1. The evil little devils from outer space, who will dissect, destroy or devour us all.
  2. The sweet, funny, little COSMIC critters who, like our government, are only "HERE TO HELP YOU!"And lastly, for the gullible religious masses:
  3. The Space "Disciples of God" bringing salvation to earthlings.
Indeed the Globalists care not which we choose. For they all lead to their NEW WORLD ORDER. Tell our brothers and sisters to just - think about it!
(Some of the above information has come from those on the "inside" and some from "outside" our government. It's nice to have our own agents inside their anti-American, anti-God cliques. What is that French word - TOUCHE'? )"
