No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc.
Always mention working safely.
Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books,
you are a qualified applicant.
Explanation of MVO/TTO to save time:
MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.
TTO= CDL A Can drive anything.
USPS provides the training. (Maintenance jobs at least. TTO and management...GOOD LUCK)
You don't have to be crazy to work here. We'll train you. Everything but proper email usage. submitted by

2023.05.24 05:27 User_3971 RCA/MHA/CCA/PSE: Skip the line! Career jobs posted within. 5-23 rollup.
Good afternoon. Brief listing of CAREER JOBS pulled from
usps.com/careers/ for your convenience. Tell HR User_3971 sent you, let's see if they pay more than .25¢ per head. NOTE: Maintenance jobs are drying up - the In Service Register may finally be seeing results for our already career people.
Some jobs may be part-time regular however
all listed jobs should qualify for federal benefits from day one. To save text I have only listed the location and date of posting for each. Use the posting number for your search term. LC and MM are entry-level Maintenance.
Here is a Maint overview and
here is Exam 955 info. You can DO it!
NOTE: USPS NEVER charges a fee for entrance exams. If payment is requested during the application process, walk the fuck away, go to usps.com/careers/ and APPLY THERE. We even has a video walkthrough prepared.

2023.05.19 17:04 le_printemps_arrive Is $1700 a month for 1 bedroom expensive?
Hi all,
I'm a grad student from Chicago, gonna intern in Burlingame for the summer. I've been looking for a place to stay and didn't have much luck. The rental market in Burlingame doesn't seem active, so I didn't find any on Fb groups. I'm offered a spacious bedroom in San Mateo for $1700 a month (+utility), is that a good price? What's the average in this area? Should I keep looking (I'm flying on June 1)?
If you know any resources for looking for a summer stay, please let me know. Any tips on housing, and living would be awesome! Thanks!
(From the midwest, the rent here is so insane, I'm currently paying $600 in a good neighborhood)
Edit: Thank you so much for everyone's response! It's a master bedroom in a big house of 3000 square ft, with my own bathroom, includes utility, 20 mins walking distance/4 min drive to downtown San Mateo. Based on the comment, I think I should look for somewhere cheaper, would appreciate if people can direct me to websites I should look at! (e.g. craigslist)

2023.04.28 22:10 Rheny026 Humming noise Tesla Model 3, Service Center can’t hear/identify if
| disclaimer: I’m not even sure if this noise can be described as “humming”, so if you know how to describe this noise better, please leave feedback Car is 2019 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, 19 inch sport wheel with Continentals ProContact Tires My car makes this subtle humming noise that starts becoming noticeable around 50-60 mph at the begin of every drive, and then exists for the rest of the drive regardless of speed. This humming noise changes according to the speed of the vehicle—it resonates fastelouder at higher speed, and softens/slows down as the vehicle slows down as well. The noise seems to come from the front of the vehicle—almost sounds like it comes from the front drivepassenger wheel well area. It is reproducible on almost any roads, but especially much more noticeable when driving on smooth roads/highways. I have attached a recording—it is quite difficult at first to hear the humming from the recording, but if you keep listening closely to it (max volume, set it close to your ear), you should be able to hear the noise throughout the entire 30 seconds I did a little bit of online searching and found a couple of potential issues: 1. Bad front control arm/arm bushing 2. Wheel issue—wheel deformity/balance, bad wheel bearings 3. Bad strut/shock I took it to the Tesla Service Center in Burlingame, California, had 2 test drives with 2 different technicians. The first one was able to hear it but wasn’t sure what causes the noise. The 2nd technician, apparently more experienced, didn’t hear it at all and deemed the vehicle completely normal and made me sound like I’m out of my mind to even hear something abnormal. I’m not sure what to do next. The noise is getting to me, it’s so annoying. I’m hoping someone can give me a glue I appreciate it so much. Thank you. submitted by Rheny026 to MechanicAdvice [link] [comments] |
