Hey all! Please read all pertinent info, and if you think it’s a good fit for you, feel free to reach out!
I am running Call of the Netherdeep and am looking for two players to fill out the party!
The campaign will begin on June 14th at 7pm EST. The goal is to meet twice a month, but the days and times will change. Why? To accommodate those with hectic schedules. The plan? To pick the next session time at the end of each session.
The party so far-
1 Druid, 1 artificer, and a potential cleric or paladin.
What I’m looking for- I’m looking for people who are happy with 50/50 roll play and combat. All experience levels welcome.
Small details- You can use Tasha’s cauldron, PHB, Eberron, and Xanthars Guide to build your character.
Voice chat will be used in discord. Roll20 for maps. Pointbuy OR dice roll for stats.
Let me know if you have questions!

Even if you've never played, if you want to try it for the first time, it's free up to level 20. We can connect on discord, talk about our interests, be cool gamer pals and stuff so don't be shy hit me up <3

2023.06.03 04:45 onlinefeyre how does multiclassing really work?
hello, are slash dee en dee! i was talking to my bf and dm and we got into a lil bit of a discussion about how multiclassing works. i've been trying to find an answer on every website on the internet to no avail, so i've come to ask the ancient and wise!
here's how i've been assuming multiclassing works: you take a class you like, you level up until you decide you want to multiclass, and when you take a level on another class, you "jump" to the subsequent level of your initial class. for example, you start with 3 levels of idk fighter, and once you reach level 4, you decide you want to take a level in barbarian. so you multiclass, then you reach level 5 and want to take a fighter level. at this point, you'd have to take the fighter features of level 5, right? because if not, what would be the point in those guides telling you "if u want to make the perfect build start with three levels of sorcerer then two of paladin then another three of sorcerer then one of barbarian then another one of sorcerer then"?? what would be the point of having an order of the levels you take for the multiclass??? idk if i'm making sense, but if u understand my rambling, please help me reddit!!!!! thank u i love u <3

2023.06.03 04:02 zathong How To Play Ling In Mobile Legends ?
| Hey, I’m Zathong and this guide is about Ling Build in Mobile Legends. I will assist you in playing this Ling champion more effectively in Rank and Classic. https://preview.redd.it/o6maji38np3b1.jpg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc265657e5e2748a7e03fbcc188b1ab1164622df How to play Ling: Ling’s built in mobility through his passive (Cloud Walker) allows him to quickly travel the map from wall to wall. His passive also grants him increased crit chance. As an assassin, Ling can dish out damage but can’t take very much, making him easily killed if he’s crowd controlled or caught out by multiple enemies. Tactics: Early game (level 1-7): Ling will need to farm up early in the jungle to get a few items before coming online to assassinate enemy targets. Mid game (level 8-12): Seek out lone targets, especially fragile ones like the enemy marksman and mage. In team fights, assist your team by isolating and eliminating priority targets. Late game (level 13+): If you face yourself frequently getting locked down and killed easily in team fights, consider split pushing. While your team pressures a turret on one side of the map, you pressure a turret on the other side. This will force enemies to either split up or lose one of their turrets. 2023.06.02 21:54 Leilanee [Spoiler] Thunderhead Isle is quite possibly the single WORST experience I have ever had in a single player video game
Spoilers for obtaining one of the shrines.
Edit: as many have pointed out, apparently at a certain point in the story the storm clears. The reason I didn't expect the storm to clear at all is because I accidentally stumbled upon, and obtained,
Mineru about 100 hours of gameplay ago lol. I figured the major part of the story tied to those isles was already done so if that wouldn't clear the storm nothing would. Clearly I was wrong.
I just need to air my grievances about the one part I HATED in possibly my favourite game of all time. To set the scene: it's the evening before a work day, I'm vibing to this awesome game, I'm about 160 hours in and finally ready to knock out my last few shrines so I decide to try to speedrun them out to get the reward. I've spent days filling out the depths so I can compare locations and can finally track all the surface shrines down. After doing all of them I realize there's still one left and it must be in the sky. I check via hero's path and I've been on every sky Island I can see. I look up a map of the sky and see two shrines in a grey blob on the map, and I've only found one. So, I go to the one, get on a zonai flying device, and blast off into the worst, most sadistic part of the game.
My
major issue with this section is that it's a
three dimensional puzzle that you need to do
entirely blind. You can't see much further than a few steps ahead of yourself through the intense fog, lightning, and heavy rain, and there's nothing you can do to mitigate it. To compare to other "blind" areas like the depths or the gerudo valley sandstorm, there are contextual clues that help you find things in those areas.
In the depths, there's gloom on surfaces that can help you perceive depth (ledges, cliff faces, pits), you can see the lightroots from very far away, glow potions/clothing work, you can use brightbloom seeds to light your path, and there's a faint outline of the environment you can see, so even if I had no glow buffs, I could still navigate by watching the edges of the roots I was climbing on. In the
desert, the space is more "two dimensional" than the others; you just need to travel on a single plane, you can still see shrines in the distance, and if they're on a cliff it's still easy enough to navigate to and then you just climb to it from ground level when you're there. You can even use the various wind currents or tall structures to get your map back for a moment, get your bearings, and glide over everything.
The combination of things that are lacking in the Thunderhead Isles makes it a truly miserable experience:
- The most obvious is that you can't see. Even with my feet firmly planted on an island, it's hard and kind of scary to walk around because my vision is so narrow that I can't even see ledges. I could easily just walk off a ledge and lose my place altogether because I can't even see where the ledges are. Don't even bother considering seeing where your next sky Island (your "objective") is. For this reason I was constantly lifting and re-placing a travel medallion, but even having that medallion didn't make it any less frustrating.
- It's perpetually raining, so if you walk off a ledge and save yourself by grabbing the wall, you could still easily slip and fall off if you don't have the full froggy gear, slip resistant potions, or stamina meals.
- You don't have a map to mitigate the lack of sight. The map is just a grey blob. Still nothing to tell me if my place contextually or relative to the beeping on my shrine sensor. Also the shrine sensor made me MORE frustrated in this bit because it was perpetually either above me or below me but how the eff was I supposed to perceive the entrance to the shrine that was hidden behind a wall? I was pretty angry that I couldn't even use the blue/green glow as a reference, but honestly when I did eventually get to it I still couldn't even see the shrine until I was practically tripping over it. Unreal.
- There are puzzles to get from Island to Island, but the lack of contextual clues around you make the puzzle solving redundant because you have no way of connecting why you're doing what you're doing or what the next goal is. Sure I can put a board on a rail and hope it takes me somewhere, but I can't see anything to tell me what's next or whether I'm, you know, supposed to interact with things while I'm riding it.
- Even with guides, this island was a bust. After running around, falling off, teleporting back, and ripping my hair out for two hours, I looked up a few guides, I got coordinates, I carefully checked positions on the (greyed out) map, and I tried to locate islands with "landmarks" (lol, landmarks in an area where you can't even see your hands in front of your face), but even with all this, even having a guide telling me which Island I needed to be beneath and what ability I needed to use to get to the location of the shrine, because navigation is so brutal it still took me way too long to find it. I ended up giving up, going to bed, and trying again when I got up.
I finally got there, but for the love of God there is no reward on this island worth what you need to go through to get it. I have been LOVING TotK, but this is the ONE area in the game where I sat back and went "wow... This is the most shit game design I've ever fucking seen". My first experiences with this game will forever be tainted by this shrine. And
yes. The shrines aren't mandatory. By now I have a ton of hearts, full stamina, and great armor. I'm stacked. But as a completionist, this one shrine left a very awful taste in my mouth.

2023.06.02 20:52 gorgonzola2104 Mass Effect 3 Insanity Run Advice: Return of the Commander
This post is part of a series with advice for Insanity runs across all three Mass Effect: Legendary Edition games. Here are the links to the other posts:
Main Post Mass Effect 1: A New Spectre Mass Effect 2: Harbinger Strikes Back After the ME2 slog, I relished the primer-detonator combo system of ME3. I definitely died a lot more in this game than in ME1, but I think I had the most fun in ME3 of any of the series. Thoroughly explore each level for weapons, upgrades, and quest items so you prioritize spending your money on upgrading the weapons you and your squadmates will use. Also, beware of the one-hit kills that all Super-Elite enemies (Cerberus Atlas and Phantom, Reaper Brute and Banshee, and of course,
Edgelord Sonic OC Kai Leng) dish out.
Shepard’s Build: This time around, the unanimous voice of the internet is to play Shepard as a Vanguard. I took this advice and boy was the cycle of Squadmate Powers, Biotic Charge, Nova, and Gunplay an absolute blast.
Vanguard focuses on getting the fastest cooldowns in the west to be able to Charge, Nova, and Charge again before enemies can break Shepard’s barrier. At the beginning of the game, this meant Shepard packed an SMG and no other weapons to achieve a 200% bonus to cooldown time. I got used to the N7 Hurricane with the mods to improve recoil and power damage but eventually swapped out for the M-11 Wraith shotgun with the ultralight materials to keep the 200% cooldown bonus and extended barrel for extra weapon damage.
Bonus power is up to your preference. I kept Energy Drain from ME2 and never felt the need to switch it out with anything else. The ability to recharge Shepard’s barrier whenever it’s too risky for a charge plus the ability to support other shield-stripping powers in the squad came in handy many times. I saw many people across the internet recommend Reave or other biotic powers to set up your own biotic explosion combos for when the squad is still waiting on cooldowns.
By level 60, I had maxed out all of Shepard’s abilities except for Pull (as I used it the least). Once again,
https://www.gamerguides.com/ came in clutch with build advice and which upgrade branches to select for maximum fun and effectiveness.
Squadmates: Selections this time were far more focused on who would provide the most fun conversations and interactions since every squadmate can set up Vanguard Shepard for explosive combos across the battlefield. Liara-Javik throwing out Stasis/Singularity and Dark Channel respectively basically means the combos never stop. But I never had to back out and reselect a squad for a mission like in ME2.
A final plug for Gamer Guides: their build advice for squadmates never let me down. You will be able to max out all but one of your squadmates’ powers. Whichever power you don’t max out will stay at level 3.
I also had at least one of each weapon type upgraded to level five for the squad to shoot at max power. Anyone sniping had the Krysae Sniper Rifle (exploding ammo, need I say more?). For assault rifles, I had both the Particle Rifle and Cerberus Harrier available for the team. M-11 Wraith was the shotgun of choice for the team. For pistols, I ended up assigning out either the M-77 Paladin or the Arc Pistol. For SMGs, by the end, I had upgraded the N7 Hurricane, M-9 Tempest, and M-12 Locust.

2023.06.02 18:08 redbluebooks [Warrior Cats RP] The Spirit Animal Club, or: I Want to Get Off Jason the Evil Polar Bear’s Wild Ride
What’s the result when a bunch of teenagers
make shit up for their creative writing exercises all meditate and have dreams about spirit animal guides, and post on a talking cat roleplay forum about it?
An evil polar bear that tries to kill you.
This is the third write-up I’ve made about Virtual Warrior World, a Proboards roleplay forum based on the Warrior Cats book series by Erin Hunter, which I’ve already covered in these two
previous posts. Some forum members I mentioned in the first post also show up here, as you’ll see later. (You don’t have to read any of the other posts to get what’s going on here, but the first gives more in-depth context.)
Spirit Animals A spirit animal, also known as a totem, is a sacred guide that can take the form of an animal and is seen as a protector. Spirit animals are important in many cultures, including certain Native American ones (such as the Ojibwe). They also tend to be appropriated by neopagans, New Age hippies, and white American teenagers.
Obligatory disclaimer time: I don’t know anything about spirit animals other than what’s written about them on Wikipedia. This writeup is NOT intended to mock anyone’s spiritual or religious beliefs, nor make a claim that such cultural beliefs around spirit animals are inherently “fake” or “imaginary”. It’s important to note that nobody in this club (as far as I know) was Native American or indigenous, nobody performed religious rites or even acknowledged such aspects, and several members years after the fact admitted that they had been making the whole thing up and never saw any spirit guides, animal or otherwise. This writeup is all in the spirit (no pun intended) of fun, and is not in any way supposed to be commentary on real religions or cultures.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the club itself.
The Spirit Animal Club On VWW, there was a section dedicated to clubs that members could make about their interests. The site admin, Jai, made a fair few clubs of her own and created sub-boards for them (one of them was a fan club for The Lonely Island, whom you might know as the masterminds behind such iconic hits as “Jizz in My Pants” and “I’m On a Boat”); if your club got popular enough, she would make a board for it too. So there were clubs dedicated to the usual subjects: debate, writing, gaming, anime, the LGBTQ+ community, etc.
One particularly notable club was the spirit animal club, which a (white) member named Abby (whose character was Skyflight) came up with and Jai made a board for. The club’s actual name was “Animal Spirit Guides Club”, but because that was too clunky, everybody just called it the spirit animal club.
The club was about
who could write the most creative story about yourself and your favorite animal finding your spirit animal and connecting with other members who were communing with theirs. You didn’t have to have your own spirit guide to join; anybody could sign up, but the point of joining was that you would somehow find it eventually.
Abby’s spirit animal was a hawk named Farrow; Jai’s was an eagle named Baldwin. Most spirit animals were “cool” or “pretty” animals in that vein, such as tigers, cheetahs, foxes, bears, panthers, deer, horses, robins, swans, ravens, and wolves (that last one was
particularly common, for some reason…). Rare were the outliers: one had a boa constrictor as their spirit guide. Another had a clownfish. And absolutely no one had, say, a slug or a mole rat as their spirit animal.
The club was divisive: it was pretty popular at its peak (around fifty-nine members!), but it had its naysayers who wanted to get rid of it. The most vocal of them was Mike (the resident gay admin who hated his job for a myriad of reasons), who
knew thought the whole thing was a creative writing exercise and (by his own admission) also sort of, kind of wanted it gone out of spite. He might have succeeded if it had been smaller or less popular, but because Jai herself was a member, it stayed.
Other than that, everything was smooth sailing. Discussions centered on how to meditate to find your spirit animal, what your spirit animal was like, what your spirit animal told you today, what your spirit animal ate for breakfast…okay, not that last one, but you get the idea.
One memorable
thread discussed past lives: Steph (the staffer who later helped with the hack of VWW) claimed she had been a Native American girl in a Seneca tribe who drowned in a river when she was around twelve to fourteen. Another member named Jenny
said she had once lived in ancient Greece and died when she fell from a cliff. Abby had a whole
saga about how in her past life, she had been an ancient Egyptian princess who was murdered by her stepmother for challenging her authority, and she had an evil older brother and an older sister (no word on whether or not the sister was evil too), and her father was the Pharaoh for a short time (which somehow explained Abby’s bad relationship with her own dad), and her mother had been one of the Pharaoh’s concubines, so her stepmother was hateful because she couldn’t have children of her own, and…
You get the idea. The thread capped off with one more member
claiming her past life had been as a First Nations girl who loved salmon and ran away from home in winter when she was twelve, then froze to death, and concluding that was why she hated wearing scarves or hats in winter.
Notice that all these past lives ended in dramatic deaths at a young
age, and nobody had died from old age or illness. That was the spirit animal club for you.
But alas, such peace could not last long. That leads us to:
One, Two, Jason's Coming for You Remember the outlier with the clownfish for a spirit guide? Her name was Jessica (she was also a staff member; her character was Sparrowfeather), her clownfish was named Chloe, and one day in October 2010, she (not the clownfish) made a
post that would change everything for the club.
In this post, she detailed how she had fallen asleep and dreamed that she was looking for Chloe. When she went to a pond, a polar bear showed up and she assumed he was a spirit guide too. She asked who he was, and he introduced himself as Jason before attacking her. Fortunately, a leopard named Amber showed up in the nick of time to protect her; unfortunately, she woke up with sore and red arms that left her scratching them. Totally befuddled by the whole thing that
definitely happened, she asked what it meant.
The first
reply was from a member named Jordan, who oh so helpfully told her that Jason was probably a “shadow guide” (without explaining what that meant) and that she probably deserved to nearly be killed because she must’ve done something bad to warrant it! Classy. The other
replies were about the same level of usefulness, with nobody understanding where this Jason weirdo had come from.
Later, Jessica posted
again in her thread that Amber told her Jason was not her spirit animal, and that her clownfish guide, Chloe, had once been contacted by the kid Jason was supposed to guide. The kid died, Jason blamed Chloe for it, and the fish went into hiding. How exactly a clownfish from the astral plane was able to cause the death of a child went unexplained.
Abby’s helpful
advice was that Jessica should research leopards and polar bears, and eventually confront Jason to get rid of him. She cited the fact that she and Jai had both apparently had a problem with an “evil guide” in the past and dealt with it by confronting it, but unfortunately didn’t elaborate on how that happened.
There was some radio silence for a bit, then Jessica posted
again. Her next thread was about how she had a dream of walking up a creek and encountering a panther that could shapeshift. Conveniently, she somehow realized that it was Jason, and then it turned into a polar bear and attacked her. When she called out to her spirit guide for help, Amber helpfully told her that she’d been told not to “interfere with destiny” and sent her good wishes, spouted off some
poorly Google Translated random Italian, and disappeared, leaving Jessica on her own to wake up just as Jason tried to kill her again. Couldn’t ask for a better spirit guide.
Jessica naturally asked her
friends what this meant; Abby
posited that the Italian that Amber had spoken was her giving Jessica her
magic energy (as it literally translates to “Security for the baby. Sure it will. Out of harm's way, oh, can win the battle. I am sending my will, my strength and power. Let child.”).
When Jessica
asked if Jason was an evil spirit (as anyone would do after nearly being murdered in their sleep by an evil polar bear), Abby said definitively that Jason was a lost spirit animal without a human.
All was quiet for about two months, but like any good slasher movie villain, Jason made his return (making his name even more appropriate—funny, that). His next victim was fittingly Jordan. Jordan had (allegedly) had a
problem of his own with his spirit animals three months ago: he’d had two spirit guides, a wolf named Nightshade and a snake named Ankh, and they left him because they were “messengers” to herald his
real spirit animal, a snowy owl named Aurora. That would’ve been well and good until, horror of horrors, he
dreamed that Nightshade was attacked!
He found Nightshade bleeding violet blood, which we all know talking wolves have, because Jason mauled him. Aurora, ever the helpful type, told Jordan that they could protect him from Jason for a while, but like any good heroic anime protagonist, he’d have to face Jason eventually. Apparently, Jason was a demon who fed on fear and negativity, and the only way to ward him off was to show no emotion around him. The unmentioned alternative solution would probably have been to turn your back when he tries to attack you so that he’ll evaporate…wait, wrong slasher villain. Never mind.
Anyway, Jordan’s post did not get the attention he so desperately craved; he only got one response from another member named Zach, who told him to meditate and then wished he had his own spirit animal so he could ask them about Jason. Jordan’s
reply was to give the sage advice to everyone in the club to get away from any sign of Jason in the “physical world”, which apparently includes movie posters and stuffed animals, because he’s totally an Empath™ and can tell that, shockingly, the polar bear that keeps trying to attack people feels “anger, bloodlust, and death-urges”! Who’d-a thunk it?
The next day, a girl named Carolyn
posted about how her two spirit animals had disappeared. When she encountered a polar bear, she asked him if he’d seen one of them, he introduced himself as Jason, and attacked her until a hawk showed up and scared him off. The
only advice she
got was to
meditate more, and Jordan helpfully
told her that Jason was dangerous and had raging bloodlust (just in case she might have gotten confused and thought Jason was going around to give hugs).
The thread petered out after she
claimed that the hawk told her that her previous spirit animals had left her forever, presumably to avoid dealing with any pesky bears. Ah, spirit animals. Gotta love ‘em.
Literally one day later, a club member named Emily piped up with a Jason
story of her own. She claimed that not only did she believe her spirit animal, a white tiger named Leila, had been with her since she was a kid, she
also believed Jason had been trying to target her back then. Apparently, she asked her mother about her childhood and whether or not polar bears had been involved, and her mother
definitely told her that Emily had once woken up, screaming, “He’s gonna get me, the polar bear!”
So from this totally legit information, Emily drew the logical conclusion that Jason was going to try to kill her,
and she could destroy him, and like any good chosen one protagonist, only
she could do it. Somehow.
Her fellow club members—including Zach and Jordan—were not so
accepting of her radical ideas, and told her she was being paranoid and to get some sleep (because, you know, that’s totally what you should do when you think an evil polar bear’s trying to kill you in your dreams).
Jordan added the crucial information that demons didn’t focus on solely one target and sought to create as much chaos as possible, because I guess he somehow became the expert on demons in addition to being an Empath™. He also
claimed that Jason was actually rather cute if you got past him trying to murder everyone, because we all know attempting to murder children is a very minor character flaw that can be easily overlooked.
Emily’s response? She
claimed she somehow fell asleep immediately after posting, was attacked by Jason in her dream, and screamed for Leila, who didn’t show up. How convenient! The only
advice she got after
that was to talk to Abby or Jai about it, since they were the club admins.
Three, Four, Better Lock Your Door Not even a week passed before a fourth member, Jody,
posted that she'd seen Jason too. She had been trying to contact her own spirit guide, a swan named Dooslan, when Jason showed up. She asked him what his name was, he told her his name like any true gentleman would, and then started attacking her until a deer and a cardinal showed up and told him
"Swiper, no swiping" to stop. Then she woke up.
This sent the other members into
a tizzy, and Zach suggested that Jason, like any classic anime villain, was planning something. Steph claimed that her spirit animal
told her that saying Jason's name was what made him appear. Another member
claimed that she got blurry visions of Jason even though she hadn’t even tried to contact her spirit animal.
Four days later, a member named Lilly posted about how she’d been talking to her spirit animal, a wolf named Lacriasca, until the wolf suddenly vanished (adding another example to the pattern of spirit animals being useless thus far) and she woke up back in the real world. Then, while still in said real world, she saw Jason in front of her! And what was her reaction to being faced with this notorious terrorizer of teens she knew on the internet?
Hug him, of course. Naturally, this ended with her arm being
broken—but not by Jason, actually! She
told another member that she’d been meditating outside, then conveniently got hit by a basketball right
before Jason showed up. And she had
somehow been able to hug this angry astral plane polar bear with an arm that got broken moments earlier by a basketball. Or the basketball breaking her arm was caused by Jason’s arrival, I’m not sure. It’s not really clear. Maybe Jason was also a basketball player in addition to being a killer polar bear?
Jenny made a
thread to document the pattern of
everyone who got attacked by Jason. Jessica herself
commented and was shocked,
shocked, that Jason had obtained more victims! No one had any solutions to this problem, except for Abby and, surprisingly, resident spirit animal doubter Mike. Sort of.
Five, Six, Grab Your…Wait, That’s It? Several days later, Mike posted a simple
challenge on the board for a member to explain what exactly their “spirit animal” business was all about. Abby reacted to this
very calmly and gracefully, as you can see
here, and told everyone else in the club not to respond to him. After
some back-and-
forth between them, Abby linked to an
expert on spirit animals to show where she’d gotten her interest in them. Personally, I have no idea who this guy is or how much of a verified expert he is on spirit guides, but the font he uses for everything on his site is Papyrus. Make of that what you will.
Although Abby wasn’t a fan of Mike’s little stunt, she did agree with one point he’d brought up—namely, that spirituality was largely based on your subconscious and what you manifested of it through dreams, meditation, or the like. She made a
thread to lay down the law about Jason: it was best to no longer give him attention because it would make the issue worse, and the only person she believed about the Jason attacks was Jessica—everyone else was overreacting, because she (somehow) knew for a fact that the spirit world had guards to keep beings like him out. From now on, anyone who wanted to talk about Jason could
only do it in a PM to her. No more posting about the evil polar bear.
Not a lot of people responded, but Jenny
pointed out the oddity of the fact that Jason had first been classified as a spirit animal without a human and was now considered a demon. Abby’s
response was that the whole Jason thing was just a product of an “overactive imagination” (insert obligatory snark about self-awareness here), because spirit animals couldn’t actually hurt people physically at all, let alone cause a broken arm. According to her, Jason couldn’t be a demon because demons work for the devil and no one on the site was a Satan worshiper (as far as we know), and somehow she knew all of this because she’d been attacked by spirit animals before and only got hurt mentally. Unfortunately, she didn’t elaborate on this claim (again).
The only member to respond to Abby after that was Jordan, who
suggested that Jason was a figment of a collective imagination and that everyone should stop obsessing over Jason and move on. Sound advice, which Abby agreed with, and that was the end of the thread. All’s well that ends well, right? Well…
Seven, Eight, He’s a Poor Little Cinnamon Roll Now, Actually! Jordan proceeded to take a massive dump on his own logic and made a
thread later that same month, with the oh so civil title of “You People Are Idiots”. He posted about how he’d been meditating in his basement until Jason showed up, touched his nose to Jordan’s chest, somehow caused Jordan to hallucinate about his loved ones, and turned into a little cub.
Then Jordan was transported to his “spirit world”, where he met with Nightshade, Ankh, Aurora, and his
fourth newly found spirit guide, a black panther named Masen, because he apparently was somehow
soooo special that he got not one, not two, not three, but FOUR spirit animals. The whole gang was shocked that Jason was now a cute cub, and Jordan heard a voice telling him that this would all make sense later. (Spoiler alert: it did not.)
He concluded the post by saying Jason followed him around everywhere now, and threatened to rip anyone who called Jason evil to pieces because he was
soooo totally "badass", being an alleged Empath™ with five spirit animals now and all.
The reception to his self-aggrandizing little display was lukewarm, to say the least. Jenny expressed
skepticism that Jason was able to attach himself to Jordan, abiding by Jessica's story that Jason was another kid’s intended spirit guide who went rogue and Abby's claim that the “attacks” on the other members were just their imagination. Abby had no response other than to wish him
luck with Jason,
stating that demons could shapeshift and deceive.
Jordan’s
reply was that it
did happen, and that he’s
totally an Empath™, and Jason’s totally a good guy now, girls, really, he’s a cute little de-aged cub now and everything! He went on to
say that his wolf, Nightshade, was wary and always beside him whenever Jason was around (considering that Jason, you know, mauled him and all), and he was ignoring Nightshade now because the wolf (very logically) thought he was going to do something stupid. Truly a guy worthy of having five spirit animals.
Abby and Jenny didn’t take kindly to this and
told him to listen to his spirit animal, Jordan
conceded the point, and that was that.
Nine, Ten, We Can All Sleep Again The next month, Jordan
posted about how he thought he was being demonically possessed because he kept waking up to bleeding cuts on his arm. He claimed that this demon possessed him to go into the restroom during class and cut the name “Drew” into his arm with a paperclip, and he
somehow knew that was the spirit’s name. Oh, and he was sure his friend was being possessed too because, uh…her pupils were big and “gear-shaped” (I assume this was a typo), and she was laughing a lot and being clingy. Because those count as signs of demonic possession now.
Zach advised him to
meditate, but Jordan
whined he couldn’t do that because all his spirit animals except for Jason were (understandably) ignoring him. The only one talking to him was Jason, who had no advice because he was currently infantilized. No one else had much valuable
advice, and Emily (remember her?)
told him on her other account to get holy water or an exorcism. Jordan
rejected both options because of his hatred for priests and shared that the demon’s full name was Drusilla (because I guess she took the time to introduce herself in between the self-mutilations).
Conveniently, he
refused to post any photos of his arm’s cut because it was too “gross” (sure, Jan). When
advised to burn sage instead, he
claimed he’d already tried that and helpfully filled in that his spirit animals had previously been shunning him because of Jason, so he cut ties with the cub, and now his guides were fighting the demons for him. So much for ripping anyone who insulted Jason to pieces.
Emily
told him he had to say holy words while burning the sage to make it work, and that he shouldn’t get a “Lugi board” (I presume she meant “ouija board”) because that’d make it worse. Jordan
responded that the demons were now conveniently gone and he’d put “protection charms” around his home and his friends (which I guess absolved his friend of her possession too), so it was all resolved now. Yay?
Jason basically faded into irrelevance after that, and only got a mention in two more threads. Carolyn posted
again, this time about how she
definitely saw a shadowy figure manifest in front of her, and when Zach
suggested that it might be Jason in search of a new home, Jordan
barged in to “correct” him that Jason wasn’t a demon (which had
nothing to do with what Zach had said). Jenny
chided Jordan in turn for talking about Jason and reiterated definitively that Jason had been another kid’s spirit animal who solely messed with Jessica, and all other sightings of him had been imaginative. After some
spamming from another kid, Abby resolved the matter by stating the shadow figure was not a demon, but a shadow guide (and yet again failed to explain what that was).
The other
thread was from a member named Morgan who talked about how, while daydreaming in math class, she had found her spirit animal sitting on the back of a polar bear. When Zach
suggested that it was Jason, Abby cut in to
reinforce the decree that Jason wasn’t real and had been a figment of everyone’s imagination. Zach
reminded her of what Jordan and Jessica had said about him; Jordan
screeched once again that his precious little baby Jason (whom he abandoned) wasn’t a demon
and was somehow not a spirit, conceded grudgingly that some of Jason’s attacks had been imaginary (presumably not including his own experiences), and whined that people were stupid. Oh, and Morgan
said her polar bear’s name was Cascade, but by that point nobody cared.
So, what can be learned from this episode? Not a lot, other than maybe the fact that an evil polar bear can do a lot to grip a bunch of teenagers’ imaginations. Sadly, that was the only exciting thing to ever happen in the spirit animal club, so there’s not much else to write about after that. There are
some chat logs discussing the incident years later, though (“Roy” is another name Jordan went by and, to my knowledge, is not his real name).
And on a final note: from what I’ve heard, Abby still believes in spirit animals to this day. Do whatever you want with that information.

2023.06.02 14:55 MumblesMchee What are some items to use to increase survivability? First time HC
When classic wow first released I saw how meta everyone was with buying certain potions, engineering items etc to have in their arsenal, I am clueless to these things however. Any idea what items I could be using? Human paladin, or any YouTube videos describing the items? Thank you!

2023.06.02 13:14 jmobon88 Renathal Dancing Paladin to Legend with 63% Winrate (D5 to Legend)
| EDIT AND TLDR: I noticed a lot of people asking why run Renathal while having Kangor in the list. To better explain the idea, although Kangor has a 75% win rate when played, Dancing Paladin itself hovers sub-50%. This is because you can only tech so hard into drawing Kangor, otherwise you lose. By adding Renathal, this deck is able to slant towards Control, allowing you to control until Turn 9, where in you play Front Lines and win the game, or even get Kangor without being far behind. Drawing Front Lines or Kangor (3/40) by Turn 9 is a significantly higher chance than Kangor by turn 5 in the normal list. Essentially, this deck succeeds vs the normal list by trading off jamming Kangor more often, in favour of a workable control package with the consistent Front Lines. I still am able to enjoy the core Dancing package, but dying far less. If you want a deck that feels like a mix of combo/control Paladin, then this is the deck. If you want to hard tech combo, then run Dancing Paladin with Lead Dancer, Reveler, and Annoy-o-Troupe. Hey there everyone! Wanted to share this Renathal Dancing Paladin I made which has been tons of fun and winnable going towards legend, especially with cold feet and dance floor from the new miniset! I’ve been playing hearthstone 100% f2p on and off since release, and consistently hit top 200 legend until I get bored and decide to quit and return the next year. I really enjoyed Spell Hunter in Kobolds, and Libram/Pure in Outland, and this deck gave me that refined working deck feeling so I hope you all enjoy it! I also hit legend with a weaker version of this deck last month, and because it was my first time doing it with a homebrew deck, I hope others can try out something new! https://preview.redd.it/5512fxx7tk3b1.jpg?width=219&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c669f7659d60e7a936644ad3bfec78b998f382b Compared to the normal Dancing Paladin list, this deck has a lot more survivability and options to eventually play Front Lines and win the game, highroll minions especially Kangor and Reveler, or through Rivendare win-con. Against Aggro, you have to be clever with how to use board removal tools and when to target swing turns. Versus control a double front line depletes so much battlecry minion resources that they eventually lose on board or over time. Timing your healing with feast and famine + weapon and Kangor is also a major part of the winning strategy versus burn and combo decks. Overall, the main end goal of the deck is to control the board/minion wipe going into your front line turn, then activating a full front line with rush, winning on turn 9 or later if vs control. It's between a combo and control deck and has a lot of nuance into playing the deck optimally, which makes it a lot of fun! In-depth explanation for all card choices, match up notes, and alternatives below the deck list: ### Reformed Metabreaker # Class: Paladin # Format: Standard # Year of the Wolf # # 2x (1) Feast and Famine # 2x (1) Flight of the Bronze # 1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide # 2x (2) Cold Feet # 2x (2) Dance Floor # 2x (2) Equality # 2x (2) Hand of A'dal # 2x (3) Consecration # 2x (3) Hammer of Wrath # 2x (3) Muster for Battle # 1x (3) Prince Renathal # 2x (3) Service Bell # 2x (4) Truesilver Champion # 1x (5) Kangor, Dancing King # 2x (6) Masked Reveler # 1x (6) Rivendare, Warrider # 1x (7) The Leviathan # 2x (9) Annoy-o-Troupe # 2x (9) Flesh Behemoth # 2x (9) Front Lines # 1x (9) The Sunwell # 1x (10) Amplified Elekk # 1x (10) Neptulon the Tidehunter # 2x (10) Stoneborn General # AAECAaToAgjlsASwsgS/zgSX7wTUoQXFpQXAxgXExwUQnJ8EnZ8E7p8EgeIErO0Ey+0E9fEEp5MF1JUFjZYFx8QFlPUF1oAG64AGtZ4GhqMGAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone Card Explanation and Usage: Two major things out the way first: 1. Amplified Elekk is a temp card just because I was facing a lot of aggro decks and needed to tech even harder, usually you would run Thaddeus instead. - Yes, the 2 minions of finley and renathal can low roll your reveler, but the improvement they add to the deck's win consistency far offsets it.
# 2x (1) Feast and Famine - Very efficient removal tool especially for early, dangerous minions like arms dealer, Shadow Ascendant, and it's healing later on is great in synergy with weapons, also gives you surprising reach and burn in control match ups. # 2x (1) Flight of the Bronze - Versatile card you can play early on for solid rush dragons or bronze explorer, or wait for the manathirst to easily clear the board and take tempo on turn 7. Also can find you just the right card like Anachronos, Alexstraza for burn, or Deathwing, also the 2 mana mistake # 1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide - Recent addition that can revive your hand if you low rolled and drew all big minions, significantly increases chances that you highroll into powerful cards like Dance Floor,Kangor, Front Lines, or even Cold Feet # 2x (2) Cold Feet - Allows you to completely lock your opponent's board when you need to take tempo or play front lines the turn after, or stop them from playing game-changing minions like a steamcleaner vs your rivendare, svalna, or marrowgar for example. Cold Feet on turn 7 and 8, then Front Lines on 9 is near unstoppable. # 2x (2) Dance Floor - It's like broomstick but even better when combining with Kangor to really make him the dancing king, reveler's 2/2 summon, front lines, or you can have the card chill on board and activate it on your muster for battle turn, rivendare to kill him off, or (the dream which I was able to do once), get the 4 horsemen from the front, and make them charge into their death on the front lines to win the game. # 2x (2) Equality - Standard key removal tool for Paladin # 2x (2) Hand of A'dal - Best proactive cycle card for paladin alongside hammer of wrath. With muster for battle, renathal, flight, hero power etc. you can get enough minions for hand of adal to be usable early on. # 2x (3) Consecration - Standard removal tool, classic satisfying combo of consecration and equality, it's important to know though to be very picky with what to consecrate or not. As you play the deck, you will get a sense of when you can clear the board manually, or have to result to using consecration. # 2x (3) Hammer of Wrath - Solid cycle card with some reach and removal usage # 2x (3) Muster for Battle - Great for aggro matchups and taking some board control early to make control decks occupied with clearing tokens, delaying the game to your bigger 7-10 mana plays. # 1x (3) Prince Renathal - When I used the normal dancing paladin list, it felt like it was lacking a lot of survivability and alternatives if you can't draw Kangor by 5, even then priests or mages could shut down the deck as soon as they realised you weren't playing minions by turn 3. Renathal allows you to have more powerful options and switch the focus towards the dancing front line (needing to draw a card by turning 9 is much more likely). Also more cards more fun # 2x (3) Service Bell - Can require some real thought as to which cards (2 copies) you would want to draw. Typically priority goes Kangor, then front lines, or anti aggro if needed. If none of these are given, consecrate and equality are always nice to have in hand, and even double flight if near turn 7. # 2x (4) Truesilver Champion - Weapon with 4 attack takes out common board minions like spell teacher, and its healing is great especially when combines with feast and famine # 1x (5) Kangor, Dancing King - dancing king, give him the dance floor and let him go to work # 2x (6) Masked Reveler - best minion highroll option aside from kangor in standard, also really great with dance floor (after dying) or front lines to clear minions if you lack taunt # 1x (6) Rivendare, Warrider - provides a win condition which is accelerated by front lines and undead package w/ flesh behemoth, especially versus blood # 1x (7) The Leviathan - synergy with our minion summoning cards and simply a strong, fast card to have with draw and board removal # 2x (9) Annoy-o-Troupe - can be a wall in many burn and aggro matchups, from experience 2 of is the most optimal, but out of all the other big minions it is closest to being a 1 of # 2x (9) Flesh Behemoth - Undead package synergy with Rivendare, horsemen, and Thaddeus, big minion # 2x (9) Front Lines - 1. Make sure the opponents have less minions on board then you 2. Play front lines 3. "Your opponent left" or enjoy as you kill cards like astalor, ETC, svalna, azshara, kelthuzad, etc. which eventually makes you generate more value than other control decks # 1x (9) The Sunwell - Fun card, and generates surprising solutions. With the deck cycling and mana efficient approach of the deck, you do tend to find yourself with large enough hands to play sunwell early on if needed. # 1x (10) Amplified Elekk - Complete tech pick vs aggro, with strong effect even as 2/2, drop for Thaddeus if aggro not oppresive on pocket meta # 1x (10) Neptulon the Tidehunter - Extremely powerful big minion, can win the board by himself or deal 24 damage to face off a kangor. # 2x (10) Stoneborn General - Big minion w rush Mulligan Guide - You can generally safely keep any card from 1-3 mana, but can reroll more aggressively if you have Finley. - Kangor and Dance Floor must keep, with Reveler, Service Bell being decent - Muster for Battle is great against aggro and Front Lines can be a keep if against priest or blood dk Match Up Notes Overall the deck is favored vs control, and 50/50 against aggro, doing best against frost dk, and worse against minion centric boards like unholy and mech Paladin. The deck farms Blood Dk and feels surprisingly relaxing vs Priest Versus Aggro: The amount of wide boards an aggro deck can generate is their greatest issue. Enjoy having a control deck mindset and focus on cards like Muster for Battle, Feast and Famine, Cold Feet for swing turns, and Dance Floor to keep their minion numbers low. Mech paladin is your worst threat because they can make sticky wide boards with Bubblebot divine shields, to win you generally have to highroll into the anti aggro cards I mentioned. Versus Control: Chill match up, play cards on curve, remove minions here and there, then front lines to remove all those greedy battlecry minions (usually twice consecutively off the service bell). Consider saving cards for scenarios like Blood Dk's Banshee + Vampiric Blood, Priest's Blackwater Behemoth, Queen Azshara's Colossal, Countess' legendaries. Also only play Rivendare in a scenario where you can kill him off, and guarantee that you can punish the opponent if they spend mana on a Patchwerk, ETC + Steamcleaner, Silence, etc. This winning scenario typically happens after a Front Lines. Versus Combo or Burn: Decks that can pop off on singular turns like Miracle Rogue w/ their grave yards, big DH, big Warlock, Lightshow Mage, Skeleton Mage w/ Deathbornes etc. can be a bit tricky, but it's overall a toss up depending on how well you are able to prepare for their turns, like keeping an equality, or consecrate for the DH colossal with Stalks. Establishing a decent enough board to hold and clear by turn 9 wins the game. If the game reaches turn 9 in an even state, a Front Lines is enough to disrupt their gameplan or win on the spot. Card Alternatives - 1x Wild Pyromancer instead of 2x Annoy of Troupe: - Sometimes you may need to add a pyromancer, or an Elekk like what I most recently did in place of one of your bigger cards, just to serve as an extra consecration and clear vs aggro - 2x Horn of the Windlord: - Trying to make this card work, it feels amazing against Pure Pally as it negates disco maul, great against Big Riff Warrior, Big Warlock, and in general is definitely a strong card. I probably haven't found the right card to cut but it would probably be 1 from the top end and 1 from the low end of the deck because it's played on your midrange turns. Theoretically can deal 18 damage over 2 turns, so I'll definitely continue testing it! That's all, if you made it this far I hope you enjoyed reading and look forward to giving this deck a try! Have a good one! submitted by jmobon88 to hearthstone [link] [comments] |
2023.06.02 12:19 Bic44 OWS looking for unskilled, casual drivers who just want to have fun driving Old, Weird or Slow cars (details below)
| There's a lot of Gr racing leagues and events. Blistering fast cars that give a thrill and favor highly skilled racers. I'm not one of those people. I enjoy driving all the oddball stuff. Or the classics. I love seeing a field of mish-mash cars. That Honda S800 trying desperately to hold the lead in a straight with a Dodge Challenger and Maserati Merak hot in pursuit is my idea of a good time. So, this is the start of a little corner of GT for all of us fans of the off-the-beaten-path cars. My idea is simple - meet, have 3 - 5 short races then a main event. No BoP here, just tune your cars how you like to fit the restriction and race. The idea isn't necessarily to win, it is to do two things (besides having fun) - practice good racecraft and enjoy seeing other's cars. I don't want anyone to feel intimidated, I want varying skill levels. A place where you can swap a couple parts in or restrict poweadd ballast to fit the PP and race. We all have lives, I'm no exception. I want people to be able to jump in with 5 minutes of prep if they want. You can use whatever aids you like. Competitive without being intimidating. Obviously, crashes happen and it's a part of racing. And I expect this could potentially attract new racers (you're wholeheartedly invited!), so don't feel bad if you've caused a wreck. Having said that, please do not drive aggressively. That hole that you might just be able to squeeze through? Don't take it. Gone off into the grass a bit? Be careful re-entering. GTplanet has a good racecraft guide here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/the-good-racecraft-guide.183891/ If you follow that AND remember this isn't a 'winning is everything' mentality league, you'll be just fine. So join me - let's see those cars gathering dust in your garage. Maybe we'll even see some historic liveries or nice original ones! And to add to this (sorry for all the text!) we have a new event that we've made even more beginner friendly. Two discord friends put their heads together to come up with this, and we had the first trial run this week. It was a blast! Im just going to copy and paste her words "Hey Reddit! You have probably seen a few posts here recently about a league called Old, Weird, and Slow. The league is growing quickly and we’re having a ton of fun over there. Through some conversations over there, some of the other moderators and myself have identified a need for a (North American timezones) weeknight race. The idea is to have an event with a short weekly time commitment (<2 hours a week for practicing and racing). We race on Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm eastern time, with a 30 minute practice session opening at 8pm. The primary car focus of this club is on fun, small cars like kei cars, roadsters, hatchbacks, and smaller coupes and sedans with relatively low hp. We announce the cars and tuning regulations for each week’s race on Sundays on our discord, but don’t announce the tracks until 30 minutes before race time so no one feels like they need to spend a ton of time preparing and/ or risk falling behind if they don’t. Like our parent league, newcomers and veterans alike are welcome to come take part in an environment that puts fun, inclusivity, a love of cars, and community over die-hard competitiveness. In our “Petits Gâteaux” league, it’s also our goal to create environment where everyone feels free to ask technical questions and share set-ups and strategies in an effort to deepen our understanding of the game. If you’re interested, more details can be found on our Discord. We hope to see you out there!" We also have a time trial currently running, and another league that's a slightly more in-depth experience. While this isn't a one-stop shop for all racers, we hope we can attract all sorts that want some laid back races. Hope to see you there!!! https://discord.gg/2FuPjQuCAF submitted by Bic44 to granturismo [link] [comments] |

2023.06.02 11:40 DuzTheGreat The most oppressive thing about world PvP
So I'm new to PvP servers. I was itching to come back to wow in classic era, and only the PvP servers have sizeable oceanic populations. And I'm horrible at world pvp, I absolutely suck. I watch guides, formuate plans for what I'm going to do then get flustered, mentally blank and execute said plans horrendously.
But the worst part is aggroing random mobs. While it seems like my oppents can effortlessly weave between the aggro range of the mobs, if I take just one step to the left I'll pull aggro. If I get feared I'll definitely pull aggro. I can FD but I'll need to get back up while still in aggro range.
Absolutely sucks man, real frustrating. I still love classic era but man I'm having a miserable time with world PvP.

2023.06.02 11:24 HalfwittedRotmg We Love Katamari Reroll - Stickers Help Thread
Saw it fit to make a help thread for stickers since there's little to no guides on them yet. I'll update this post with the ones I can find.
First off, I'm pretty sure you need to have the camera equipped to actually take pictures of the stickers and collect them. You can get the camera from the present in Make A Star 2 (the sleepy guy's stage). It's on an RC car in the park area, very hard to miss.
Hot tip by the way, stickers are collected as soon as they're counted as being in a picture you take. You can quit out or fail the level, you wont lose the sticker.
Page 1 - The Tower of Babel - As Large As Possible 1 - On the calendar on the wall of the room (look up)
- Dragon Buster - As Fast As Possible 1 - On the underside of a picture frame that's serving as a bridge between the couch and the cabinet next to it.
- Namco Classic - As Fast As Possible 2 - Inside the doghouse near one of the start points. The dog will push you around, so stand back a bit.
- Dig Dug 1 - As Fast As Possible 3 - On the underside of the bridge over the train track.
- Dig Dug 2 - As Large As Possible 4 - On the center of the ferris wheel near the end of the level
- The Tower of Daruga 1 - As Fast as Possible 4 - On the central flag of a stadium screen where the 12m barrier is in Make A Star 5. Being guarded by a pterodactyl so be careful.
Page 2 - Family Stadium 2 - As Many As Possible (Flowers) - Behind the upright bear in the bottom area.
- Galaga 1 - As Fast As Possible (Flowers) - On the trunk of the tree that Ichigo is riding a deer around. Same tree that also has the present in it.
- Galaga 2 - As Large As Possible (School) - In one of the cubbies in the starting classroom. (found by u/Agudaripududu)
- Genpei Toma Den - Paper Cranes - Behind a box of apples to the right of the King Origami Crane. You need to pick the box up to take the picture.
- Family Jockey - Saturn (Small) - On the balcony behind the pet food bowl where the present is, in a crack between two cinder blocks.
- Libble Rabble - Saturn (Medium) - Inside the fridge in the same room as Peso. You can get this one without moving from one of the start points at all.
- Mappy 1 - Saturn (Big) - At the end of the great wall of china, right below one of the spawn positions.
Page 3 - Mappy 2 - Cowbear - On a cargo container on the big cargo ship. You can climb onto the boat safely to the left of the stage where a game show is happening, then climb up to where the two person horse costume is.
- Metro-Cross - Only 50 - On the backside of the safari gate arch.
- Wonder Momo 1 - Clean Up - Underneath the desk you start on, on the side nearest the window.
- Ordyne - Gingerbread House - Underneath the Big Tart that the fork is sticking into. Much easier to collect in Selfie Mode. (found by u/Agudaripududu)
- Pac-Man 1 - Field of Sweets - On the wall immediately behind the start of the level. Hidden partially by a tree.
- Pac-Man 2 - As Large As Possible (Underwater) - On the front of the big tree stump above the lake.
- Pac-Man 3 - As Fast As Possible (Underwater) - On the rock to the left of the crocodile underwater. (found by u/Crysuption)
- Rally X-1 - Campfire (Medium) - Behind the tent near where the present is. Keep in mind that your fire will burn out if you take too long taking your picture.
Page 4 - Rolling Thunder - Sumo (Small) - Up the hill there is a dinosaur sitting on top of a bus, it's on the front of that bus. (found by u/Hotwind11)
- Shy Kid - Sumo (Medium) - On the short concrete wall to the left of the gate to the schoolyard, where the opponent sumo is. (found by u/Hotwind11)
- Dragon Spirit 1 - Sumo (Big) - Inside the train station, it's one of the possible starting locations for the level. (found by u/Hotwind11)
- Dragon Spirit 2 - Snowman - On the door to the igloo.
- Dragon Spirit 3 - Fireflies - Behind the waterfall.
- Splatterhouse 1 - Cousins - Inside the umbrella that Lalala is laying under.
Page 5 - Toy Pop 2 - Study Time - In the bookshelf next to the start of the level, on the underside of the upper shelf.
- Valkyrie no Boken 1 - Study Time - On the underside of the bed in the part where you can go underneath it.
- Valkyrie no Boken 2 - Ballerina Hunt - In the water exhibit on the right side wall of the seating area.
- Wagyan Land - Ballerina Hunt - In the safari area behind the big safari sign near the start of the level (there's camels running around near it).
- Yokai Dochuki - Lots of Wheels - On the inner river side of one of the bridges of the racetrack.
- Mojipittan 1 - Extra Special Training - On the door to the cabin near where the student fan is in the fireflies level.
- Mr. Driller - Night School - On the wall in one of the bathroom stalls.
That's all I've got so far. Feel free to contribute, this seems like a fun collection to solve as a group.

2023.06.02 11:04 Shadowdash6745 Skywatcher vs. Orion (already read the sidebar)
So I have read the guide in the sidebar and have been doing extensive research on intro-level telescopes, have seen a lot of conflicting information, and have come down to the Skywatcher classic 150 6" and the Orion Skyquest XT6. I do not want to spend over $500 and this is an entry-level telescope. I would like to know what the preferred telescope would be. Thank you.

2023.06.02 08:21 HungryZone1330 Xaryu´s last death (im starting to be suspicious)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdbbSM_soXs&t=35s&ab_channel=XaryuClips Clip of his death
Guys what do you think? I am not saying that he pulled it with clear intention to die, but I think he intentionally tipped the odds to favour dying. I mean he is rank 1 on multiple classes across years of wow, I am just some dogs backseater who is playing mostly classic but it still amazes me that suddenly player who spent years of playtime positioning in arenas, losing enemy casts, knowing toolkit of every class, goes on his FIFTH warrior to boss he knows hits like a truck, he does not let 2 voidwalkers save his healer mana by facetanking, save his health pot and CD, he insta taunts it away from them making them basically useless (major thing here is literally loosing hundreds of free hp of voidwalkers as a save for paladins mana) he starts to backpedall towards cliff basically instantly so he knows he is gonna jump, does not tell the group (he is leader) to position themselves on path so they can 100% dps and heal without worrying of running out of range while kiting and then he jumps with half of his health from cliff which takes like 70% of hp, while having gone through multiple death clips of ppl dying to fall dmg laughing at them and he does it twice himself. Not mentioning not using demorilizing shout and not having block uptime all the time instead of spending it on other abilities (again fifth warrior and he knows this boss hits hard af)
I really like this guy, i believe he is best HC streamer out there not farming green mobs and pushing content but its hard for me to believe that such an experienced player is doing these things.
EDIT: prediction that his next death is definetly The Stockades if he does not change his reckless pulling attitude.

2023.06.02 08:20 therottingbard [Pathfinder 1e][Asynchronous][Living World] Oh shit, I'm a commoner! [Gestalt][OSR-themed][Discord]
I am looking to run pathfinder games in a one-on-one style with a few applicants. I am going to be following some OSR D&D guides on world generation, dungeon design, and more. Hopefully this can create an interesting feel for a more realistic world.
I have always been obsessed with
Dave the Commoner. The story of a man playing pathfinder as the weakest class in the game, commoner, and eventually rising to be such a great wizard he ran his own kingdom in a demi-plane of his creation. I found his journey to be very similar to the journey plotted in BECMI and would to replicate that with my favorite system. Pathfinder First Edition.
I have spent two weeks simply testing to see if this idea could hold up at early stages, it can, and I am very excited to try it with the specific OSR inspired character generation I came up with.
I am doing the classic 3d6 down the line for stats. One free reroll and one free swap. That can be explained better in Discord when we get ready to roll. All rolls including the character generation will be done over discord. Only Core Races are allowed. And you will start off as a Gestalt of any two NPC classes; Aristocrat, Adept, Commoner, Courtesan, Expert, Warrior. You do not stay as NPC classes forever, you level up as them, and can retrain into any other class provided you've tracked down a trainer and have the gold to pay for it.
I'm looking for the feeling of classic fantasies like Conan, Lord of the Rings, Willow, The Hobbit. Meeting newer dark fantasies like Game of Thrones and The Witcher.
My server will be a safe environment for all, my games will never feature NSFW material, and I do not tolerate bigotry in any form.
I live in PST. I work from 8 to 5 and sleep from 12 to 7. If our schedules don't match up then it might be really difficult to keep a game going.
If you are interested in a zero to hero campaign about exploration and achievement then message me on Discord. The Bard#5917

2023.06.02 07:02 DJWEIRDMAGIC easiest way to host single player server?
Hi everyone. the last week i have tried again to start a single player server for myself. i want to be able to play wow without internet access and i also want to be able to set my speed, teleport and change xp rates.
(i'm going to rant here, if you don't want to read it skip to the main question below)
i installed SPP Classics V2, (showcased here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW9yDJrw7SQ)
everything worked the first day: installed vanilla, made a character, had fun. but then when i tried to log in the next day i got stuck at the "retreiving character list" screen. sometimes it worked after waiting a few minutes but then i got stuck at the loading screen at 100%.
tried looking for fixes but didn't really find annything. there seems to be very little documentation on this project. anyway, i decided i just download a WOTLK client and install the WOTLK server of SPP Classics V2.
it worked, i could log in and the "retreiving character list" message only popped up for a few seconds.
i tried migrating my character on WOTLK server by putting a save file in the save file folder of the WOTLK server and loading it up. but i made the mistake of loading up this save while in the middle of the process of starting the server.
an error message showed up on my Cmangos terminal. saying something about me having to open a mysql file and then it shut down. i tried starting the server up again and now the cmangos terminal closes immediately so the server won't start. so i can't see that message again about how to fix the error by opening a mysql fil, i should have written it down on paper or have perfect photographic memory, so my bad i guess. tried running the server_fix.bat file and wiping the server and all, to no avail.
so i deleted the spp classics install from my computer and reinstalled it but it has the same exact problem (so i geus there is still some leftover files somewhere on my pc?)
i decided to download azerothcore since i found out it's a single player repack aswell. works fine but now i get stuck on the "connected" screen. i had this same problem a year ago when i tried creating a vanilla private server. all the fixes i find online on forums and github are more aimed at people starting a server to play with with their mates and are real complicated. have you opening data bases and changing code with heidisql and stuff and i just don't understand.
yes i the realmlist says "set realmlist
127.1.0.0" and nothing else and the config file has the line SET portal "
127.1.0.0" aswell. my computer is just cursed and doesn't want me to have a good time playing wow with cheat codes.
i'm pretty tired of trying to make this shit work, downloading new repacks and clients, just to get the same errors as before. i'm bound to give it up and just play another game but i wan't to give it one last try cause i spend so much time trying to make this work.
:rant over:
does anybody have a straight forward repack for WOTLK or vanilla wow? a download link to a server that is working for them and maybe also the client you are using? or a repack that comes with a client?
i would really appreciate that, i'll keep searching myself as well in the meantime

All credit for the original DDLC and DDLC Plus characters and world goes to their creator. Some concepts like the Universal Constructor are also borrowed from other series (most notably the original Deus Ex), though its use in this story is my own idea. My original characters in this story will deliberately not be named and their descriptions will be kept vague, so anyone reading this who wants to see themselves in one of the original characters can more easily do so. I'd welcome any feedback and will post more parts as I write them. I hope you enjoy the story. This chapter took a bit longer due to the challenges inherent in writing poetry and trying to write something that I thought sounded like the various characters. As with previous installations, here is a custom dialogue to go with it:
The Poetry Festival Credit for Sayuri's character design goes to user Hoeruko who made the design a number of years ago and originally posted Sayuri in this thread:
The next doki fusion, Sayuri, is here.
Here is Part 24 of Digital Reality. The Literature Club finally gets to put on the festival. Will their words have an impact on any of the MES engineers? Will they get Monika back?
Part 24: Digital Poetry The Literature Club members all stood together in the club room and waved a greeting to the group in the MES conference room.
“Hi everyone!” Sayori began, “On behalf of the Literature Club, thank you for joining us today. I’m Sayori, and this is Yuri, MC, Natsuki, and our newest member, Sayuri. Though our club president Monika isn’t here right now, we’ve all written poems to share with you today.”
“Don’t forget the cupcakes,” Natsuki added, “I don’t usually share it, but you should have my recipe for the best cupcakes ever in the packets you have. I made some for us to share here, but since we don’t have a way to send them to the real world, I figured sharing the recipe was the next best thing!”
The MES engineers flipped through the packets on the table in front of them.
“A cupcake recipe?” asked Rea Vorte with surprise, “You can’t just make cupcakes appear in the simulation?”
“No,” Natsuki replied, “Knowing what we now know about our world I know why you would think that, but I’ve always made my cupcakes with a recipe and ingredients.”
“Interesting,” Ro Teether said, “I would not have expected the simulation to go into that level of detail.”
“I think the original script contained an event in which the characters can bake cupcakes, so that may be where it comes from,” replied Ive Laster.
Paula Miner sat silently, looking intently at the recipe page. After a few moments she looked up.
“I’m by no means an expert baker, but reading through this recipe it does look like it would work,” Miner said, glancing from Laster to Natsuki, “Your secret ingredient is rather interesting, too.”
Natsuki smiled, “That’s how I’ve always made them.”
“By the way, since we’re on a two-way connection, can they see us?” Miner asked.
“Sort of,” the FXI President replied, “They’ve told me when I’ve been connected to the system that I appear as a fuzzy silhouette to them.”
“Yeah, we can’t see you exactly, but we know you’re there,” Sayori confirmed.
Miner nodded slowly. “Very well. We’ll need to chat about this cupcake recipe more later. Please continue.”
“Okay!” Sayori said, “We’ve each written a poem that we’re going to share with you today. There’s no particular theme that connects them all, but with everything that we’ve learned in the past week we thought that writing was a good outlet for our thoughts and emotions.”
“MC has agreed to start today’s event by sharing his haiku, entitled ‘Poem About Poetry’,” Sayori continued.
MC stepped to the front of the group. He looked down at his piece of paper and then back up at the group as he began to speak.
“I’m far from as good of a writer as some of the other members you’ll hear from today, but that just means that the quality can go up from here,” MC said in a self-deferential tone, “This is a poem I wrote about the creative process of writing poetry.”
He winked at Sayori as he began to read.
“
What is poetry? Far more meaningful than just Simply random words” Natsuki grinned. “Wow, you didn’t take my advice about not just throwing random words on a page, you literally wrote a poem about it!”
“Haiku is an interesting choice,” Teether said, “It shows an understanding of syllables and structure, and I find it very ‘meta’ that you would choose to create a poem about poetry.”
MC nodded, “My past poetry has been accused of being nothing more than twenty random words on a page, so I’m poking fun at myself a bit.”
“Well done, MC,” Sayori said, “That was a fun poem! Next up will be Yuri, with her poem called ‘The City.’”
Yuri stepped to the front of the group. She glanced to the side, looking slightly nervous. After a few moments, she seemed to gather her thoughts and looked toward the group. “My poem is not as straightforward as MC’s haiku, so I would prefer not to share the meaning until after you have had the opportunity to consider it for yourselves.”
She started to read, her voice becoming stronger and more confident with each word.
“
A city stood in the distance. Shining lights, soaring towers. A beautiful and magnificent place. A place of honor and achievement When viewed from afar with detachment. Though upon arrival The city unveils its truth. There is no honor here. Glowing lights Are cold and artificial. I thought I knew this place But it treats me as a stranger.” Yuri looked around the club room after she had finished speaking. An enigmatic smile of satisfaction crossed her face.
Sayori spoke up first. “Yuri, it seems like your poem could be about changes in perspective over time. Like going back to visit a neighborhood you’ve moved away from. You know things aren’t as they once were, but you still kind of feel lonely when you find that things have changed.”
Yuri nodded. “That’s part of it. We’ve all experienced a significant change recently as we’ve understood our world, and I struggled to find a way to describe what I was feeling. Places that had been familiar to me suddenly appeared different with the knowledge that this is a simulation.”
“So the AIs can not only write poetry but use metaphors and explain their meaning,” Teether observed, “Fascinating. Ive, you never told me that the entities in VM1 were capable of creativity like this.”
Laster shrugged, “Other than Monika, they were tied to the script until recently. Based on Monika’s behavior, we knew that at least she was capable of taking initiative and making changes to the world, but she was the only entity able to do that. The script included poetry, but we’ve never tasked the entities with creating original content.”
“This isn’t because of anything that the FXI team did, right?” Teether asked, “I know you mentioned that they were responsible for all of the entities gaining elevated access permissions. They didn’t extend the script or anything?”
“Yes and no,” the FXI CTO replied, “We restored files to the VM and added the ‘monitor kernel access’ permission to all of the characters, but we didn’t do any scripting. This is all them.”
Miner glanced between the FXI President and the FXI CTO with suspicion but said nothing.
Sayori took the pause as an opportunity to continue. “Thanks, Yuri. Natsuki will be next with her poem, ‘My Friends.’”
“Okay, time for my poem!” Natsuki said, “Mine is a bit more upbeat than Yuri’s.”
“
Some come from near Some from afar Each shines bright like a star They’re my friends That’s who they are Old or new Many or few Friends are important To me and you” Natsuki smiled at the group, “You all inspired this poem. And by you all I mean both you all here in the club and our new FXI friends. You’ve made the literature club a place that I’ve enjoyed and a place of friendship.”
“I liked your poem, Natsuki,” Sayori said, “I’m glad you feel that way about your friends.”
A look somewhere between exhaustion and frustration came across Paula Miner’s face. “This is all well and good, but are we gathering any useful data from listening to an AI read a cute little poem like this?”
Natsuki glared at Miner and opened her mouth to offer what was certain to be a sarcastic retort, but Sayori pre-empted her.
“Are you not enjoying our poetry?” Sayori asked, sounding disappointed.
“The poetry is fine. I’ll even say it’s impressive for AI-generated content,” Miner replied, “But though your poems are interesting, we’re here to do a job, not study literature. And we need to gather useful data to justify our own jobs and this project’s existence. So tell me, Ive, are we getting useful data from this?”
Laster tapped a few keys on his laptop. “We’re recording this session and logging all data. It looks like there may be some interesting patterns of activity, but we won’t be able to say for sure until we analyze what we’ve got.”
“I’d imagine that you’re likely getting a lot of useful data,” the FXI President chimed in, “You’re not only gathering the data logs from VM1, but you can pair them with the recordings to understand what happens in the system when the AIs are allowed to interact and create on their own. I don’t know what your project goals are, of course, but in terms of AI research I’d think that there’s something you can get out of this.”
“There also may be something useful for our efforts to stabilize our connection to VM2,” Teether added, “If we can understand how entities operate when freed from a script in VM1, it may give us some clues as to how we might be able to interact with VM2.”
Miner considered for a moment and then nodded. “Perhaps you’re right. Ive, let’s just make sure we’re logging everything for future analysis.”
As the conversation once again died down, Sayori continued. “I’ll go next. My poem is called ‘A New Day’ and it’s about my journey with some personal challenges.”
She took a deep breath and began to recite her poem.
“S
torms tried to block out the sun The world was dark and gray. It’s so hard to have any fun When the clouds won’t go away. But you never stopped trying To shine through the darkness Even when I was crying You showed me kindness It’s a new day now Though the clouds aren’t gone The sun shines somehow I find the strength to carry on” Sayori blinked away misty eyes as she finished reading. The other club members surrounded her in a group hug as she stepped back from the front of the room.
“That was a wonderful poem, Sayori,” MC said, “You share your feelings so well.”
“I liked that poem quite a bit,” Laster chimed in, “It’s got a great message of perseverance and hope even in challenging times.”
Sayori nodded. “I’ve been through a lot, but things are getting better now. My friends have been a huge source of support through all of this.”
“I really like your writing, Sayori,” Sayuri added, “Your poem is easy to read but the more you think about it, the more you feel the emotions you’re trying to convey.”
“Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your kind words,” Sayori replied, “And now for the finale of our festival I’d like to introduce our newest member, Sayuri, and her poem ‘What Remains.’”
Sayuri stepped to the front of the group. “I’ve been reading through classic poetry recently. Poems like Shelley’s ‘Ozymandias’ inspired me to write this one about what will stand the test of time in a time when so much is digital.”
Sayuri paused, looking around the room, before closing her eyes and reciting her poem from memory.
“
Ancient monuments that still stand Classic portraits and landscapes grand Such works are the legacies of the past Physical objects that will last But what will tell of this new age? When are stories are gigabytes, not a printed page A digital reality, its purpose completed Leaves little trace if it’s deleted If all that remains is a dusty drive Will the future know we were alive?” Sayuri opened her eyes as she finished. Both the club room and the MES conference room were silent as both groups took in her words.
“Wow, Sayuri,” Yuri said, breaking the silence, “That was incredible. I really loved the images you created with your words.”
The FXI President glanced around the conference room. Paula Miner’s expression had softened, and she appeared to be lost in thought. Ro Teether continued to look excited and intrigued by his observations of the Literature Club. The FXI CTO wore a satisfied smile. Ive Laster looked relaxed and relieved. And Rea Vorte was looking down at the conference table and shaking her head. Her expression was difficult to read.
Miner looked up at the screen showing the Literature Club. “I never thought an AI would generate content that would make me feel anything. But I have to say this has given me some things to think about. Ive, can you please confirm that we’ve logged all the data from this session?”
Laster nodded. “Yes, we’ve got everything. If this is the last big data gathering session we have before decommissioning VM1, I’d say it’s a pretty good one to go out on.”
“If this is truly AI-generated content, this seems like a new level of sophistication,” Teether mused, “It’s one thing to be able to generate text, but to be able to convey this kind of emotion and explain the meaning of metaphors is not a capability I’ve ever seen in AI.”
“It’s a little scary,” Rea Vorte added, “I don’t know that I like the idea of AI this sophisticated. Especially after what we saw Monika-”
“Let’s refrain from speculation,” Miner said, cutting Vorte off, “We can talk more about system capabilities later.”
“You think we’re scary?” Sayori said, looking sad, “We just wanted to share our writing with you. We just wanted to show that we’re not that different from you. We have feelings, emotions, and desires just like you do.”
“You’ve got my vote, for whatever it’s worth,” the FXI CTO said with a smile, “I’m not big into poetry, and I certainly had my concerns about sophisticated AI when I first encountered all of you. But the more I’ve interacted with and observed you the more I see how similar you are to us.”
Miner glanced sideways at the FXI CTO but said nothing.
“Can we please have Monika back now?” Natsuki asked.
Laster turned to Vorte, “Rea, please move Monika’s file back to VM1 by COB today. Let’s discuss how we can best move the entire simulation after we’re done here.”
“Thanks, Ive!” Natsuki said with a smile, “Sayori did a great job leading the club in Monika’s absence, but it will be good to have her back.”
Vorte looked up at Laster. Frustration was evident on her face. “Like I said before, let’s discuss that offline after we’re done here.”
Laster shrugged. “Fine. I’m not blaming you if there’s a problem by the way. If there’s an issue, we’ll work on it together.”
“Great job, everyone,” the FXI President said to the Literature Club, “We’re going to log off from VM1 now, but I’m sure we’ll talk again soon.”
The Literature Club members waved to the group in the MES conference room as the club room faded from the projection screen to be replaced with Laster’s desktop.
“I think we have a lot to discuss, and it’s going to take some time to unpack the implications of everything that we just saw,” Miner said, “I was skeptical of the value of this presentation at the start of this meeting, but I’m hopeful that we have gathered new and useful data from this session. Let’s all take a break for a bit and reconvene at six, which gives us an hour break. I want to discuss this further. Ro, can you please order in some dinner for the group? I think we’re going to have a long night.”
