2023.05.25 21:14 ILovePistachioNuts Help with using Wunderground weather station
I have MY OWN weather station on my roof (Ambient WS5000 if it matters) setup in my Rachio app and really don't understand the purpose. It seems to do nothing to control weather realated watering, Maybe I am missing something in the app to set it up?
I constantly get "Next Schedule cancelled" delays because my set number of inches (1/2") of rain is PREDICTED within 24hrs. 90% of the time it NEVER EVEN drizzles.in the next 24hrs. That is "normal" here in central FL. It could, and has, poured 3 blocks away but the sun shines here with zero rain.
However what NEVER happens is when we get one of those Florida 2" of rain in 1 hour" afternoon storms every few days during "rainy season" (now) which my rain gauge clearly shows 2" of rain in my app(s) does the next morning's schedule get' canceled.
Isn't the purpose of setting up a weather station to use "real time" data to, among other things and not water 4 hours after a 2" of rain deluge?
What am I missing?

2023.05.21 13:55 ThirdhandTaters Trying to fix an app broken since at least January
For reference I am talking about Wunderground.
For anyone that doesn't use the app, There is a feature that allows the weather info to be quickly viewed in the notification shade. Not this past update on Feb 16 of this year, but the one before it broke said notification in that it now appears to be in a separate window/bar(?) inside of the notification bar, the refresh function barely works, and one used to be able to tap on that notification to open the app in full to see more detailed info and a forecast but doesn't do that anymore. This app is owned by IBM... IBM!! Rant: I find it pathetic that one of the largest computer tech companies cannot or will not fix this 93 MB program!! Question: Since IBM won't fix their own mess how could I do it myself? Please, I ask that you not tell me how hard it can be to look through code for errors, especially when I don't have the working code, but can I please get some advice or program names that can look through Android app code to edit. Maybe I can fix the issues and present them to IBM to show that a single person could do what their hundreds of thousands of employees couldn't.

2023.05.12 15:51 Semaphor TL;DR of Dew Point + Temperature + Wind Speed = Frost?
Looking at the 10-day weather forecast, I see a dew point line. I was wondering what should I be looking at w.r.t. temperature, wind speed, and dew point, so that I can determine if frost is likely? (My smooth brain can't parse these endless blogs about this subject, so a tl;dr is welcome)
