I’m coming to UB as an exchange student this Aug and I’ll be staying till around April. I’ll be staying on campus. I have a license but where I’m from it doesn’t snow AT ALL so I’m kind of worried about driving in those conditions (also used to driving on the other side of the road but that’s a different issue altogether).
I’m wondering if it’s actually a good idea to get a car, considering that I won’t be there for very long and might not be able to drive during winter regardless? How difficult is it to go around and get necessities from and around campus?

I’m currently looking for a sporty affordable car and I’ve been debating on a 350z or a Hyundai Tiburon (fyi it’s really hard to find these cars that are under 10k) and I just saw a 2003 nissan 350z for 8.5k AUD in FB marketplace, The car looks unkept, and there are some slight exterior and interior damage, and the engine body have done 200xxx km but it has been replace with a vq35 engine which is sitting on 100xxx. Do you guys think I should get it?

I live in a small apartment. I'm assuming the standard average dimensions for a small room and I only own an Arc currently. I have been super content with it ever since I got it but for the longest time, I've been looking to add to my surround system like I always wanted but finances were definitely a factor on why it has taking me plenty time to cultivate my setup in my bedroom. I initially was eyeing the One SLs as my go to surrounds until the Era's were released. And for what it provides, I'm definitely considering getting the 300s since they provide spatial audio for Atmos content which I do watch from time to time. However, I recently saw that there is currently a sale going on for Father's Day and I noticed that the Sub Gen 3 was 25% off, $159 off to be exact and honestly, that is very much a deal I can get behind. I know that the next addition to a home theater would be the surrounds as I've heard that it is typically what comes second after getting a sound bar, at least from what I've heard multiple people recommend. But since it's cheaper currently especially compared to a pair of 300s, I'm heavily considering getting that Sub. People have stated it's overkill especially for a small room but EQ and volume can always be lowered or tailored to what works for my setup and from what I've looked into, it's recommended with the Arc significantly. I guess I'm wondering for those that possibly own a similar or complete setup, I'm curious to know how the sound experience is for those that added a sub first before adding surrounds and if the placement I suggest would work, which would be in the corner, in the first image. Would Era 300s also work in my living space?

2023.06.05 11:44 tomtom_37 Am I entitled to a courtesy car?

My car is under warranty and booked in with the dealer to have a fault investigatedtowards the end of June. I (with my very limited mechanical knowledge) suspect the problem is a broken or damaged wheel bearing. Although my car is perfectly drivable (apart from the really loud hum caused by the issue), I have read that this type of issue can cause significant damage to the car if driven significantly before repair.
I was hoping for some advice from those of you who have dealt with similar or generally just have more knowledge than me on the topic. My thinking is that I should get a courtesy car because the car is booked with the dealer, under warranty and continuing to drive the vehicle until repair could cause more damage. On the other hand, I don't think it would be unreasonable for them to decline a courtesy car as the car, for now, runs and drives fine apart from a noise and that the damaged part (if my diagnosis is correct at least) is likely caused by pothole damage rather than a manufacturing fault. Any advice is appreciated

Big disclaimer up front: I am not looking for medical advice. I've got that covered. Thanks.
Horror doesn't faze me, and jump scares never used to. I've never been a particularly jumpy person, and I can see most of them coming from a mile away, but of course I'm not immune. I've developed a heart condition, and sudden spikes in heart rate can make be rather sick. My family knows not to sneak up on me, but video game designers and movie directors? Not so much.
I've been told it probably won't kill me, but it's not exactly good for my health and it can take hours or even overnight before I feel normal again.
I've accepted I might have to give up on actual horror-focused games and movies, at least for now. But I'd like to be able to at least enjoy content that has very occasional jump scares, and, well, believe me when I tell you there are plenty of accidental things in life that can startle even a "non-jumpy" person like me, so let's just say I am surrounded by motivation. lol
Is there anything I can do to dampen the effect? It's usually OK if my heart races a little bit. Reminder, I'm not looking for medical advice; I am being followed by a cardiologist, but they're understandably more interested in keeping me alive than keeping me entertained, so they haven't had much to offer besides "try to avoid those situations, but if it happens, you'll probably be on your ass for the rest of the day". The most common advice seems to be "get jump scared a lot," and that's advice I can't safely follow, plus I've been jump scared plenty before getting this diagnosis. It's OK if it's not too severe, but the weaker, the better.

2023.06.05 11:44 Kenajovski Deep breathing and breathlessnes in a teenager

It's a very annoying problem I've been having. I'll make it quick and to the point.
17M; height: 176cm; weight: 56kg; white. I take Magnesium (100mg) in tablets, B vitamins (B1 0.45mg; B2 0.45mg; B6 0.33mg; B9 150μg; B12 0.9μg) pills, vitamin D (1000 UI) in capsules, vitamin C (120mg) in tablets. All of these every day. I do not smoke or drink, and I do not take any form of drugs. I am from Poland, EU. I experienced the death of my father pesonally in 2020 and he died due to COVID. I consider myself a stressful person, but I am working on improvement. I exercise a lot (although without a gym becuase there is no gym where I live) at home.
First, something that happened that might or might not have influence over my issue. When I was a little child I went with my dad to drive electric go karts on a race for kids, and I remember I hit myself really hard in the chest with the driving wheel because we crashed against another kart. I had an ache in that area for about a month I remember, then it was gone. I didn't tell my parents about that.
NOW THE ACTUAL ISSUE:
CONTEXT: As of writing this, I'm experiencing it. I don't know if it's breathlessness, but what it is is I just have to take a deep breath or yawn every 1-2 minutes. Besides that I'm pretty groggy and tired/sleepy. As of writing this, I have been experiencing this for over 12 hours (started yesterday 3pm). I have no other symptoms.
It is worth mentioning that I had infectious mononucleosis AND COVID consecutively last year's summer and I experienced breathlessness several times AFTER COVID, not during it. I've become very stressed about my health since then.
I've been to a pulmonologist and to a cardiologist regarding these issues several times (I actually booked another appointment with another pulmonologist). I was not diagnosed for any issues with both of the systems. I was deemed healthy, with suspicions of being depressed or anxious. I took an X ray photo of my chest as well (immediately after COVID) and it revealed nothing to be worried about (healthy lungs and heart) [on the photo there was a black spot next between my heart and lungs, but my pulmonologist deemed it an error on the photo].
ISSUE: Like I said, I don't know if it's random breathlessness (even if I don't feel anxious) or what, but I feel air hunger and the need to take deep breaths almost every 1-2 minutes. I have no other symptoms besides that. I am experiencing it right now, I experienced it last week for 1-2 hours two times, other than that last time I had it was in december last year. It really bothers and concerns me because it feels really uncomfortable.
Something I wanted to add and that has been bothering me a lot as well, but this I've been experiencing my whole life. DEEP BREATHING. It is hard to describe but I will try my best:

I take one, filling deep breath. If I try to take another deep breath right after, the next one is not as filling - it feels like only my chest gets air.
If I try to force myself to breathe in more, I don't get more air and I get an urge to yawn.
When I yawn, I either cannot take a full deep yawn or I can. If the FIRST happens, I keep the urge to yawn and try to yawn again afterwards. I don't yawn, I try to sigh or just take several shallow breaths, and the urge goes away.

VERY IMPORTANT thing: it feels as if I have a blockade around the trachea area and no matter how much air I try to inhale, I feel it. The trachea blockade feels like a mild "pain" (it feels the exact same way something heavy is put on your body).
I am really bothered by these things. This is my first post here so please don't judge harshly. I will provide any information you need below if you ask me. I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE IF ANYONE TELLS ME IF I SHOULD BE WORRIED OR NOT. I WILL APPRECIATE YOUR ANSWERS.
