Hi. I am a recent finance grad currently working in consulting at an HCOL area. I just started working 2 months ago. Here is my current financial profile

Salary: $88000 (eoy bonus will be somewhere between $5-$10K)
Current assets
- Checking: $1k
- Emergency fund: $10.5k (5 months of expenses)
- Roth IRA: $11.3k (have not contributed to 2023 yet)
  - All VTI
- 401K: $1k
  - Employer does matching (up to $4k) which i plan to do
Current liabilities
- Student loans: $3.5k (saving next 3-4 paychecks to wipe this out before interest kicks back in)
- No other debts
Income
- 6.9k gross, 5.1k net, save around $2-2.5k (25%-30% savings rate)

Goals
#1. Probably my longest term goal is to retire around 50-55. I don't want to completely retire but able to take my feet off the gas pedal (work less than 40hrs a week) around that time would be nice. My number would be around $1.7m-$2.2m.
#2. My immediate short term goal is to attend grad school 3-4 years down the road. While I did study finance, my true interests lie in international relations which I plan to get a masters in. I want to combine my interests in both finance and IR and work in the development finance space. My top options just tuition wise cost around ~$110k ($55k/yr for 2 years) in tuition only (ouch). I plan on having at least $60k-$70k saved up. While not guaranteed, one of my top options is generous with aid so may get minimum $20k/yr if i build up strong work experience plus test scores. If push comes to shove, my parents are willing to loan me for some of costs w/ 0 interest. I'm willing to loan a max $50k for this.
Questions
Are these goals compatible? If not, how can I make it compatible?
While I have ran the numbers and built in different scenarios in a retirement model (being a finance major really makes you neurotic lol) it sorta works out. Would like to hear your thoughts though
How do you reconcile a financial decision that may not make sense w/ roi but gives personal fulfillment?
I was originally going to study IR in college but my parents talked me out of it and told me to get a more practical major. While I am glad they did that, I truly want to pursue my true passion which is IR and combine it with what i studied. After doing some research, starting salaries in development finance is roughly the salary I have currently. However, I feel as if i do not pursue this, I'll end up regretting it in the long term but the thought of shelling out a pretty penny for this unnerves me at the same time.

This is a long one so bear with me, but this is my wild idea on how Roman can lose once and for all.
Roman continues to build heat all the way to Wrestlemania. The bloodline feud gets us to Summerslam and he has one or two main roster feuds between SS and WM, but he becomes more and more absent from TV. This sparks a non-ring feud with HHH. HHH brought in the world championship for Seth so they would have a “fighting champion” which was a dig at Roman. HHH takes it one step further and starts openly criticizing Roman for his lack of title defenses. All the while, Cody is building up a Sami-esque presence opposing Roman indirectly and getting increasingly over.
This brings us to Wrestlemania. HHH, being fed up with Roman but obviously not stepping into the ring with him, creates a new match. He calls it an Iron Gauntlet, and it’s for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.
The rules are as follows. Roman has one hour to defend his title from anyone and everyone in the locker room in a No DQ match. If Roman is pinned at any time in the hour, he’s done as champion and the that person must survive the rest of the hour. The person who’s champ after the hour is up is crowned the new champion. Since it’s no DQ, Roman can have whatever bloodline is left there to defend him. However, if someone tries to pin Roman (or the current champion) and they kick out, that opponent is eliminated from the match.
The match plays out as a who’s who of vanquished opponents from Roman’s 1,000+ days as champ all coming for one more shot. Drew, Cena, Edge, Rey, Finn, KO, etc. with some other faces sprinkled in. It would basically be a smaller royal rumble type match with surprise entries for the first 45 minutes.
In this scenario, Jimmy is on the outs with the bloodline, Solo is in and Jey is on the fence. Solo and Jey have been helping Roman defend the belt the whole match until Jimmy’s music hits. Jimmy ends up taking out Solo. Jey is about to take out Jimmy, but Sami arrives and saves him, giving Jey one last Helluva Kick for old times sake, not even going for the title. Roman ends up taking out Jimmy with minutes left in the match when Cody’s music hits! With no bloodline left to protect him, Cody ends Roman’s Reign with seconds to spare, becoming champ. Heyman is shocked and leaves the arena, and a new era begins with Cody.
I’m either insane or incredibly bored today, so let me know your thoughts. I had a scenario where Jey actually won but I’d rather the bloodline lose all titles here.

I've looked everywhere. Google, amazon, petco, pertsmart, lfs. Every fish tank stand I see is made of hollow metal or particle board. I just cant realistically see how stuff like this can withstand the weight if a fish tank. Especially over time for years to come. I want to get a 70 gallon tank but cannot find any stand that I would remotely trust to hold the weight. I don't know how to build a stand myself. I feel like a metal stand would be best to stand the test of time. Where do you all get your fish tank stands from?

This feels so strange to explain, but has anyone else had similar dreams to this? I've been having dreams for over a year that take place in the same universe but in different locations. I've had so many of these dreams that I've remembered the places in them almost by heart at this point and it's not like they're amazing places only the mind can think of. Anyway, here are the dreams.

Dream 1. My mom, grandma, and I were going to eat at an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. This restaurant was located right next to a huge building with a bunch of windows on it, kinda like an office building. The restaurant itself was in a complex of sorts right next to a Walmart. The restaurant itself was nice and everything, but at one point a strange woman walked in. When she did, the lights went off and her eyes turned black and started oozing black stuff. I woke up after this. I know this dream is crazy, but a lot of them aren't this crazy, most are just normal.
Dream 2. Me and my mom went to a Dollar General next to Walmart. I can't really remember if the huge office building was there or not but I'm pretty sure this was in the same location as the first dream. We went inside and were just shopping around. I don't remember what we got but I remember that when we walked out something just felt off. I don't remember a lot from this dream but I remember it being in first person in the beginning.
Dream 3. This one was short. My mom and I were driving down the road that lead to Walmart. I know it was the same road because I remember looking out the window and seeing the Walmart there but at this point, I can't remember if I saw a dollar general or not. I know the office building was there though. Anyway, we drove past an area that had a bunch of restaurants and shops together. My mom pointed one out and suggested one day we should go there and I agreed. It's important to note the layout of this area. There were two restaurants in front and one in the back from what I could make out. There were also other places but I don't know what the places were.
Dream 4. My mom and I went to try this restaurant but it had been closed down at some point. The restaurant right next to it was still open though, so we decided to go in there. They had these cakes that they made from strawberry lemonade expressos and we got two of them. While we were sitting at our table, I remember noticing something strange outside the window but I don't exactly remember what it was but I remember commenting on how strange it was. A turtle also crawled across the window ledge we were sitting by and we were both weirded out by it but didn't leave the restaurant. Finally, out cakes were bought out to us and they looked good but as soon as the waitress set mine down ants started crawling out of it. They weren't like monster ants and there weren't a ton but there were maybe two or three but of course, we were disgusted. I woke up after then fell back asleep again and had a dream that I was drinking something from the same restaurant while I was on the phone with my mom. I remember her saying in the dream that it was gross to drink anything from a restaurant that served food like that but I remember telling her that it tasted good.

That's really all I can remember for now. I'm very aware that nobody is going to read through this all because even I wouldn't, but I wanted to post it anyway. Goodnight Reddit.

I (29 female) am paying an investment fund that is sort of a mixture of a 401k but also life insurance for both my bf(30 male) and I. I don't live in the US but this type of future investment funds are very rare in my country. It is a fund through a US insurance company that takes a fee from my account and through compound interest accumulates capital through out the years. The thing is that you can benefit from it only after 20 years of contributing, I pay $216 USD per month to contribute to both my and my bf's fund. We enrolled in the fund just 3 months ago but now my bf hates the idea and it's become a constant topic of discussion between the both of us. My boyfriend and I have only been dating for 9 months, I know it's not "enough" time but from the moment we met, I knew he was special, and I do love him and see my future with him, no doubt. However, this seems to bother him beyond our normal disagreements. He says he feels pressured by me for having insisted so much that he sings the paperwork so he would also have a contribution toward his own fund. We both ended up opening our funds at the same time, but I said I was going to pay for both of our funds because I am the one who receives a higher salary than him and he has other bigger economic responsibilities in his life at the moment. We both agreed that it's a smart move to invest in our futures while we can, although he said he would rather wait a bit, but honestly I would have felt bad if I only paid for me and left my bf without some sort of economic security for his future. He has had a very tough life and he has gone through a lot of hardships in the past. He could not graduate from university because he could not afford it any more and he had to take care of his family so he has been working since a young age while I have a master's degree and have more stability job wise. So I insisted he joined me and I will cover it until he finally said yes. The plan is that in 20 years we both would have saved 96k individually and maybe retire or buy a house. However since we are not US citizens and our account is in US dollars he feels that the current economic crisis is going to ruin our future investment and with the BRICS thing he says that investing in dollars was the worst option. He says that the current political and economic crisis is going to devaluate the dollar and we will loose money at the end. Plus he says that he is not sure we will be together 20 years in the future because I will l leave him as everyone in his life including his mom has in the past. But of course I won't I'm sure if that, I know I want to build a future with him that's why I did that. He thinks it's because I'm pressuring him and saying that I made a bad economic desition and put us both in a bad situation. He says that we could have invested the money better and that eventually I will resent him for giving him something and I will then guilt him into doing something for me now. To both of his issues I always say that number 1 is my money and I decide how to spend it, and if the dollar falls it will be my loss not his... And if he is not sure he wants to be with me anymore he can leave and I would never charge him for the money I'm paying on his name. If anything I will continue to pay for that extra account and maybe see if I can put it under my sister's name if we do brake up. So I really don't see how I'm pressuring him or damaging him in any way.... Also if on the flip side if the dollar does not crash as he thinks it will, we might have saved near 200k by age 50...
I can see what he means with the BRICS situation and I know that 9 months might be too soon for a commitment like that, but I promise I only did it with good intentions and I swear I didn't do it to keep him or to make him owe me anything, plus I am more hopeful on the US economy than him.
The first entire year of contributing on both of our names are already payed in full... If I do cancel the contract on his name I would have lost more than 1k on his name and that would bug me.....but if that's the only solution for our problems and I was the a*hole all along I would do it so we all are fine and can feel safe. That's my ultimate goal.

Hi everyone,
I have acne-prone and eczema-prone skin (how lovely!). I recently started going to a skin clinic to help with fading some PIE on my cheeks. While there, she recommended that I start incorporating retinol into my routine and using a mild one to build up skin tolerance. I had a chat with my doctor who also recommends starting retinol too, but slowly (once a week) to get my skin used to it. I'm currently also using Elidel, which is a medication to maintain my eczema. My doctor has assured me that I can use this alongside my mild retinol. In summary, I have the green light to incorporate retinol in my routine.
Anyways, please give me some recommendations for a mild retinol! I've never used something like this before, so I'm honestly kind of scared. I heard you can purge from it and I'm scared to be confronted with the congested crap that could be lying under my skin haha.
If you have any tips too or what you can expect from retinol use for a complete beginner, please share!
My current routine:

AM: Wash face with Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser, apply Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, apply sunscreen (currently alternating between Good Molecules Sheer Mineral Sunscreen and EltaMD UV Facial)
PM: Wash face with Garnier Micellar Water Gel (if wearing make up), wash face with Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser, apply thin layer of Elidel on affected areas (medication - I cycle through this - 3-4 days on, 2-3 days off), apply Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

ANDREW IMBESI is CEO of Boge Group, which promises to get you over $100,000 in 0% financing for your business. I paid $500 toward $9000 as a success fee, which I am familiar with. The first thing my Boge counselor Oscar did was refer me to their 'outside' partners to raise my credit score.... to the tune of $5000.
I very unhappily told Andrew that I was already paying his company $9,000. He agreed the $5,000 was too much, and referred me to the In-House credit assistant....who wanted to charge me $2,500 for the same credit repair. I was really insulted. My personal credit scores were 620, 670, and 680.
Over the next several weeks, I went back and forth with them, and in the interim, my personal coach Oscar unsubscribed himself as my coach without and discourse, nor reason.
Problems. Contract.

I was hoping to connect with another funding coach, because I know Oscar is dealing with his father's passing; and when I informed him that this link goes directly to your Online Youtube ad Andrew, and please send the link to the actual trainings, I never got the correct link from him. 📷 The above link goes directly to Andrews Youtube Ad. 3. I also can't find the coaches on Discord.📷 4. I still haven't located the training videos. 5. So, over a month into the contract, I still don't have:1. a. Personalized Action Plan.2. The only referral Partner I spoke with of your wanted to charge me $5000 to remove the late payments, and your contract mentions nothing about the extra-outside charge. Even your in-house guy wanted to charge me $2000. 3. a. Where are the training videos? b. I have no CPI sheet, and my coach Oscar literally stated that your Credit Polishing includes removing late payments. It was after this Voxer comm that Andrew told me the credit polishing does not include removing late payments. This is a deceitful business practice. c. I'm already LLC'd. d. Where is my Student Journey Map?4. I can't find anybody from Boge on Discord.5. My "Guaranteed" 1-on-1 Accountability & Support is non-existent. I've asked Oscar to send me the direct link to the videos more than once, but I still don't have that info; Oscar only replies when I Vox him first. The last I heard from him was on April 1st, an entire week ago. He hasn't responded to my voxers since.Andrew and Oscar have contradicted each other contractually regarding the credit polishing, which is a contract breach; and you even have credit repair in-house! For $9,000, I expect a much higher caliber of service and performance. You deceived me. Please do not scam me. Alex Martino scammed my family out of $40,000 working capital last year, which is why I am seeking funding. You can read all about what he did in my book. I have a social media campaign to accompany this book, that is launching very soon. Please don't make me take to social media with reviews regarding BogeGroup's non-performance of the contract. I'm very friendly and understanding, however, this is how I respond to being scammed going forward. You already have a very shaky scam detector score. I already sent a letter to the 3 bureaus and the CFPB, demanding the late payments be removed.
This is what I will accept to resolve the many problems that I have elucidated above. 1. As confirmed by Oscar that your Credit Polishing includes removing late payments, you will take this over in-house.2. You send working links to your training videos.3. You assign Carole Thomas as my Coach, and we zoom to create my Personalized Action Plan, and assist me with Discord.4. You cease sending these ridiculous daily emails....we're already under contract! I received a call from Andrew the next day, and he said his service was really nothing more than referring his clients to his outside connection (who charge a fortune), and really nothing more than that. He added that he had already closed my contract and refunded my $500. Shameful. Don't do business with people whose ads are splashing all over the internet. Andrew's ads will stop running shortly.

Me and my friend were playing BG3 for the first time in a multiplayer playthrough and we got to Ethel's small hut after killing everyone in Goblin Camp. I was roleplaying as a Rogue who wants power by interacting with devils, genies and witches bc he thinks too high of himself. My friend was playing as a Druid who knows not to f with Hags and Devils.
So I accepted Ethel's deal thinking I would have a powerful eye and all it left me is with a ton of permanent debuffs and I was wondering how I can get rid of it.
Pls help me 🙇‍♂️ my Sneak archer build is fucked with those debuffs. Is there anything that can get rid of it. I heard volo can help but I killed him bc I thought he was annoying 💀
