2023.05.28 21:12 Stoner4s3 Not sure if this fits
2023.05.28 18:41 MrsCCRobinson96 Niko is still available & looking for his forever home.
Please note that five people (families) who've been interested in taking Niko and that have even filled out an application have all backed out at the last minute even before meeting Niko hence my frustration at this point. I had to create a new post because I wasn't able to edit his previous post. Please share and comment with any helpful information. I passed on the information already to Niko's owner from the original now deleted post. Thank you everyone for commenting. ❤️
Update: Niko is still available!!! Please if you are going to consider adopting Niko please ensure that all steps have been taken prior to filling out an application and setting up a meeting such as discuss having an additional pet with your significant other. Backing out at the last minute is completely unacceptable and unfair to Niko not to mention the time, energy and effort that people such as myself are putting into finding him a forever home! Thank you!!
Please keep in mind that re-homing a pet is a process that takes time and Niko is significantly running out of time! Dogs have emotions and need time to adjust and adapt to changes. Please consider this fact if interested in Niko. Please apply through his adopt a pet profile. It's simple, quick and easy. Thank you.
Original post: Owner of Niko has exhausted her efforts to try to re-home Niko.I have tried everything that I can to help find Niko a new home but life has gotten the best of me and I have a lot of things on my plate at this time.
Niko needs to be re-homed ASAP! He might be good with cats. This is unknown. He probably would be good with other dogs his own size or larger. Preferably not any smaller than medium size dogs. It is unknown how he would interact with children therefore households with children under 8 are not being recommended. The only way to know for sure is by scheduling a meet up.
Niko has a very short time to find a home. This shy boy needs a home ASAP. His owner is moving in a week or so possibly two weeks tops. Basically, as soon as she situates her house is situated.
Here is his adopt a pet profile 👇👇👇
https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/37930925-copperas-cove-texas-shepherd-unknown-type-mix Niko is a Thai Ridgeback/Belgian Shepherd Dog mix per the shelter that she adopted Niko from. To know for certain he'll need a DNA test. It's URGENT that Niko finds a new home, a foster or a no kill shelter. He will be taken to the nearest city animal control location if a home is not found for him however his owner is looking for alternatives to a local shelter as well. As we all are aware majority of them are kill shelters and the no kill shelters are maxed out!! His rehoming is of no fault of his own. It's a circumstantial re-homing. His adopt a pet profile is ☝️☝️☝️.
*Please Note: I am not the owner of Niko. I am not the responsible party who has ownership of Niko! I am volunteering my time and services to find him a loving home! The facts are that most shelters locally (within a 80 mile radius are kill shelters) and the facts are that many rescues are at full capacity and there is a shortage of Fosters. None of which are my fault by any means! So please refrain from rude comments that are off topic. The topic is helping find Niko a forever home and he sure could use all the help that he can get at this point. Thank you!!! *
Meet Niko!!! Meet Niko!!!
With full permission from my neighbor (his owner)...she's asking me to post Niko on Nextdoor & Facebook in hopes that he can be re-homed into a loving forever home. He's a shy playful boy that has some social anxiety. There is a possibly that when he was a smaller puppy he might have been neglected or abused. She rescued him from a shelter about a year and half ago. The shelter is at full capacity again and cannot take him back. He was roughly 6 months old when she rescued him. He's about 2 years old now.
Niko is neutered and is potty (house) trained. He is friendly but shy as well as shows signs of anxiety therefore it is recommended that he is the only dog or one dog amongst a small pack of other dogs' about medium/large size within the household. She recommends that he is re-homed with a family that has a decent sized yard and kids over 8 years old or no kids. Retirees would be preferred or a family with kids in middle school, highschool or college.
Niko is complete and up to date on all of his shots and vaccines. She has all the the adoption paperwork, veterinarian paperwork, microchip paperwork and he is microchipped. He prefers to be outdoors most of the time but he is an indoor dog too. He loves night time cuddles. He does bark sometimes when there is a reason to bark but aside from that he's a really chill dog that loves his toys. He loves playing with his toys and interaction. He's just shy, curious and displays signs of anxiety.
Niko comes with his toys, food, treats and anything else. All she is asking is that he has a good loving home with a yard. She is currently in the process of dealing with a domestic violent situation with her soon to be ex-husband and she needs to move ASAP to her Mother's house in Austin. She cannot take Niko with her which she is devastated about. She wants him re-homed as soon as feasibly possible. The rehoming fee is $20.00 but negotiable which is more than fair. Please private message me so I can pass her information on to you or yours on to her.
Location: Copperas Cove, Texas/Austin, Texas.

2023.05.28 17:34 beastlives I had laparoscopic mesh bilateral right-left inguinal hernia repair surgery with a bonus vasectomy
Hi, five days ago I had bilateral laparoscopic mesh inguinal hernia repair surgery with a bonus vasectomy, and I want to share as much info about the procedure as I can recall while everything's still sort of fresh. Reading Reddit experiences was very helpful in my preparation. I'm just going to scribble down the basics for now, but I'm happy to edit and respond to any particulars and changes over time...
PRE-SURGERY. I had a routine colonoscopy early this month, and the prep for that was definitely way worse. The day before surgery, I packed my hospital bag for an overnight stay (slippers, chargers, devices, cables, food (unnecessary) and a pillow (glad I had it)) My surgeon called to confirm I wanted the vasectomy and hernia repair on both sides. I got all the last-minute questions answered, too — do I need to show up ready to pay something (no), is there a chance I'll be catheterized to pee (miniscule). Great. My left hernia was more of a weakness than a proper hernia, I wondered if I should wait until it got worse to come back... maybe the mesh and lapro tech will be better in 5 years? Surgeon said no, probably not worth banking on that, so I said sure to bilateral. Then I ate some Thai food and went to bed early.
DAY OF SURGERY (DOS): Left home at 6:30 a.m., got to hospital before 7 a.m., went very quickly through intake, changed into gown, took a painkiller (Novalgin/metamizole, didn't know what that was). Then was wheeled off to a little pre-operating room with anesthesia people. Nice woman asked if I picked out some good dreams. They strapped me down. I don't know what happened after I left that room but I was likely in the O.R. by 7:30 a.m.
About 9:45 a.m. I came to in post-op, lower abdomen had been totally shaved, I had three small bandages and my mouth was dry. They monitored me and within an hour my hospital bed was wheeled up to my room. The room was reserved for two nights, but my surgeon said I'd probably only be there for one. They took my pulse, blood pressure, and temperature again, this was done pretty regularly, every hour or two. So far no pain, I felt pretty good. They wanted me to fill a jug with urine, no problem doing that.
Around noon I ate some potato soup or something and a piece of bread. I drank about a liter of water that afternoon. For dinner I had two pieces of bread, a little soft cheese, and a yoghurt. Lots more water. Pain level was like a 1-2 on the 1-10 scale. More discomfort than anything, because I had like zero muscle power from belly button to hips. It's wild.
Surgeon came, said it was all a success. Left hernia was way worse than expected, so good thing I got it done. "Oh, by the way, don't be alarmed if your testicles swell up and turn blue or purple, totally normal!" Er, okay... He said tomorrow I'll feel like I did 10,000 situps. Anyway, I was cleared to stand up with a nurse. No problem there. I went to the bathroom in my room very slowly a couple times. Nurse cleared me to walk the floor with hydration fluids attached. No pain, was glad to be mobile. Nurse cheered me on, said it was important to move. Next nurse emphasized taking it easy, so no consensus there.
First night, I slept a normal amount of time, but it was in shifts. Maybe three hours on each side, another hour or two in some other position. It was hard getting comfortable, but wasn't painful, just felt like pressure.
This whole time I was only taking half my pain pills and stashing the rest. Turns out they were just metamizole and acetaminophen, but I didn't know that at first.
DOS +1: I was seen by surgeon and discharged by about 8:30 a.m. Took a shower first without any help. I took the bus home so I could stay standing. Sitting in a car would have been hell, let alone getting in and out. Couldn't carry anything at all. Came home and managed to lay down in bed. So far pain still in the 1-3 of 10 range. I had been expecting worse. Getting up and down from a bed was not easy but walking around and eating a little normal random food was not hard.
Twice when taking steps after getting out of bed I experiencing searing pain like 4-6 on the 10 scale. It was momentary, but I had to stop moving and take deep breaths. I attributed that to some kind of gravity settling things.
Ice packs on my abdomen felt GREAT. Again, slept through the night in shifts, moving carefully from side to side to get comfortable.
Took maybe 3-4 Advil this day. My leftover metamizole was awesome, pain totally vanished with that. I took two all day.
DOS +2: Mostly still in bed, a couple sharp stabbing pains again when standing after being in bed. This time 4-5 on the 10 scale, so already less alarming but I was still holding the wall for support for a few seconds. I worked on a computer for a few hours, standing for most of it. Still very weak in the midsection, getting in and out of bed using arms and legs. I was getting freaked out about constipation, only eating liquids, oats, and prunes. Sitting on the toilet didn't feel comfortable. They tell you not to strain, but it wasn't really an option, still no abdominal strength at all. Took 3-4 Advil just to stay ahead of any pain.
DOS +3: A friend was in town from overseas, so I sucked it up and got up and hobbled around town for a few miles. Drank a beer. First bowel movement since day before surgery came mid-afternoon, HUGE relief, after that I was over the hump I think. Went out for dinner. Winced a lot but wasn't really painful beyond a 3 at most. Took 2-3 Advil for the day.
DOS +4: Tried to take it easy. Two Advil all day. Felt one disorienting rush of discomfort but smaller still. Otherwise recovery seemed to be progressing. All new to me.
DOS +5 is today. Definitely still hammered but my midsection can handle motion again, getting in and out of bed quickly. When I put my hands on my belly it feels tender but not alarmingly swollen or damaged. I think I'm healing. Already I feel like I'm exiting the experience, though. I can pick things up from the floor, that wasn't remotely possible two days ago.
And that's my story so far. I hope the numbing details help you sleep. I hadn't stayed in a hospital for my own care since I was born, so I didn't know what to expect. I don't know if I'm still fertile, hopefully not, but I do know as far as the hernia repair I already feel like I'm better held together, even if my lower abdomen is hamburger for the moment. Good luck with whatever you're in for!

2023.05.28 17:00 Affectionate_Crab773 Food just doesnt taste good anymore
While I am grateful for the weight loss on Oz (40 pounds since September), I am sad that very little food tastes good anymore. It isnt just that I have no appetite (which I don't). Foods I once loved have no appeal--pizza, thai food, fondue, chicken, salads, etc. Yesterday, I ordered an italian sub sandwich & after a few bites, just lost all interest. Did nothing for my taste buds. (A sandwich I once loved!) Anyone else missing actually liking to eat?!

2023.05.28 15:16 gasman4life Let's Talk Marin Grocery Stores!!!
Ok, let me get your opinions - quality, quantity, and $$$ (looking for something a step above Wegman's with similar pricing). I'm looking for freshest produce, fish, chicken, etc.
From my research it seems like best produce goes to: United Market in San Rafael.
Organic produce - is the way to go: Good Earth, prices are obviously higher than other markets but seems to be average, if not slightly below average, for other organic produce.
Poultry: Seems like you can pick up Rocky or Mary's at United, Safeway, Nugget. Looking for air chilled premium chicken.
Red meat: Don't eat much of it...I'm guessing Nugget is the way to go...or is there a local butcher?
Fish: Does anything compare to just getting delivery from the port in SF? I'm thinking
https://oneoceanseafood.com https://fishmongerdon.com Perishables: This one I am caught up on - looking for good quality Vodka Sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, sun dried tomato pesto, basil pesto, Indian sauces (Tikka), Thai red curry, etc. What compares to Wegman's? The only thing I can think of would be a Safeway - but I'd be hard pressed to every step in a Safeway (terrible quality for atrociously high prices).
Bottomline:
-It seems like a majority of the best produce and poultry shopping can be accomplished at United Market - is this the BEST PRICE to QUALITY market in Marin????? Is Nugget Market superior in quality and/or price though?
-Is fish delivery service from the pier worth it for best quality?
-Aside from finding like Felipio Berio sun-dried tomato pesto is there any need to every step food in a Safeway? Can I find good quality and not extremely overpriced sauces at other grocery stores?
-It seems like the top tier markets are Nugget, United, Good Earth, and Lucky in Novato. Then there is Whole Pay Check, Trader Joe's, and Sprouts - not sure where they rank in the equation?
-Overpriced and not worth it seems like: Andy's, all Safeway derivatives, and Woodlands.
-What is the role of the Farmer's Market and Marin Community Farm Stands & CSA (MCFS)? Is this better quality/price?

2023.05.28 07:07 No_Jackfruit_890 Some questions about living in Bangkok
Hey guys, just moved back to Bangkok after not having been here for awhile. I am staying in the Emquartier area and just wanted to ask some questions that maybe you could help me with. I would google them, but if you have used google recently you know how (un)reliable their search results have become and how much time I would waste trying to get up to date info.
I see Grab is here now, but you can't order a motorbike? Isn't that what Grab is.... Anyways, is there any app to order motorbike rides? Preferably one where the driver will have a helmet?
Anyone else have trouble signing up for Food Panda? I spent 2 hours trying to get it going and it was just constant buggy roadblock, I had to enter a 4 digit code and put it in correctly and it said incorrect, then it said re-send code and no new code ever arrived... I could go on, but I tried with 3 different emails and on both my phone/laptop and never accomplished it.
Any tips on finding a month to month apartment? Any reliable sites or property management companies with an office I could go to? Not a fan of signing leases and being tied down, particularly when its not even guaranteed Thai will let you return after your visa run
What grocery store has the widest variety of foods? I am looking for some healthy stuff like high protein no fat/sugar yogurts or puddings, quinoa, black beans, malt powder.... anyone ever spot any of these? I have found some high protein low fat products, but they aren't an exact match for what I would prefer (though I can go with them if its all I've got)
I assume that there is no cheap ATM to use around right? I have Schwab, I just don't like making them pay that exorbitant rate on withdrawals for the long haul if I decide to stay for awhile
I can give you one tip from my short time here, be careful buying any bongs/bubblers... lots of those that have no clear holes or that have other defects clearly got dumped on the unknowing Thais, pay close attention before you buy

2023.05.28 02:25 p_terrydactyl First Time Trip 5/25-5/26
First time trip to Cedar Point! Me and the GF had gotten gold passes for my local park last year and this year decided to get the platinum pass and make a trip. I also travel for work so I've been fortunate to hit a handful of other CF properties so its been tremendous value already and summers just begun!
Was able to ride all coasters for credits and do a few laps on my favorites. Friday was pretty busy but not unmanageable. Few thoughts on the rides:
Maverick (4x rides) - This was the first thing I rode, and might actually be my favorite in the park. Wow. This really captures the feeling of being bucked around by a horse. Staying low the the ground and the quick side to side transitions really sold it for me. Second launch was also excellent! I keep wanting to compare this to velocicoaster. I really liked that rides features more, but this one is a bit more intense. If I was being objective I'd say they're equal, but I tend to prefer airtime, which makes Veloci eek out a win. The GF liked maverick more. Either way, excellent ride. Got to lap it a few times right a close!
Steel Vengeance: (4x rides) - Along with Maverick this also might be my favorite in the park? It also muddies up my top coasters list a bit... The ride just does not let up and I love it. Excellent airtime, I love how the ride will buck you one way then very quickly roll the opposite. The little hills at the beginning really set the ride off on the right foot too, letting you know it doesn't mess around right from the start. I loved how alot of the ride is hidden in the woodwork of the ride so you don't see everything while waiting in line and much of it was a surprise on the first ride. I think Maverick had higher high points, but SteVe is just more consistently excellent.
Millennium Force: (1x ride (but was row 1)) - I appreciate what Millennium Force is, and the context of when it was built. Its a record-breaker and feels like it! My only issue was I rode Fury 325 literally a few days prior and I just really enjoyed that more. I liked the narrower trains, and the cable lift hill up was nerve-wracking. Getting hit by bugs at 92 MPH was less fun. This ride definitely deserves the reputation it has!
Valravyn (2x rides) - I couldn't get super into this one, but I also wasnt able to get a front row ride. Was my first Dive coaster, but I feel like this type of coaster doesn't particularly cater to my preferences. My local park is supposed to be getting one of this next year, maybe more rides will change my opinion. It still was fun though!
Magnum XL-200 (2x rides) - GF hated this thing. We have a very similar looking coaster in our local park and she was excited because we both like that. I told her it was likely going to be much rougher since it was an Arrow and she didn't believe me until after we got off...The arrow jank wasnt too bad IMO, and I liked the steep banking on the turnaround, and the tunnels.
Gatekeeper (2x rides) - I was really excited for this and was a little dissappointed. Once again it wasn't bad or unfun, but just wasn't what I personally prefer. I did really like the near miss elements though, those were very creative use of the coaster type.
Raptor (1x ride) - Actually the longest wait we had, and probably my least favorite. It was kinda meh? I also had just ridden Afterburn early in the week which absolutely blew me away. My GF forgot we rode it entirely. B&M inverts normally are usually not my favorite (not bad just not my absolute preference), and I kinda prefer the one in my local park.
Rougarou (1x ride) - Not bad. I liked the second half, and I liked its position in the park, being surrounded by trees and over the water. The dip between the lift and the first drop was pretty neat.
Blue Streak (1x ride) - Solid woodie. Nothing to note, but was a solid time.
Gemini (2x rides) - Track type was interesting on this one. Racing aspect of this ride is what made it memorable, as people in each train interacted with each other and cheered.
Iron Dragon (2x rides) - This one was a fun low-thrill coaster! I liked flying through the trees, and never had ridden that type of coaster before. GF saw a turtle in the ride queue and I think she got more excited over that than the ride haha.
Wild Mouse (1x ride) - This was a surprise! We got a lot of spin on our car so we were constantly whipped around and it was a lot of fun. Wasn't expecting to like this one much.
Corkscrew (1x ride) - The lift attendant was very vocal about how this ride was better than valravyn (probs sarcasm?). Standard arrow, wasn't as jank as Carolina Cyclone so it was decent.
Mine ride (1x ride) - I rarely ever ride these, but had a decent time. Not much was super memorable, but the scenery around it was nice.
Few other comments - Food was surprisingly great, the all day dining plan was a great deal. My GF said the food (particularly backbeat, and also the thai chili tendies) was better than Disney (I've never been). We had a drink bottle, as our park has bins on every coaster, wasn't expecting to have to rent a locker for the bottle, it was kinda a pain having to constantly worry about it. Overall was a great trip, I'm excited to visit again when Dragster is back!
Edit - removed some redundancy

2023.05.28 02:00 forgertful1111 29[M4F] #New Jersey -Just looking for someone who into Anime and Games
Hey I am looking to connect with someone who has similar hobbies as me I figured if we have a passion for games and anime that would be a perfect start ! I’m interested to know what you are watching and what you are playing and maybe we can play together or watch a new show together.
I do not want to rush things I am looking to build a connection based on the stuff we enjoy and move on from there .
A little about me:
I’m 28 and try to keep myself in shape by actively going to the gym 5 times a week. I’m not the biggest fan of cardio but will try and do some running at some point in this year lol. I’m also 6ft, white and work as an experience Aerospace engineer. I enjoy anime and ps5 games along with some pc games, which include the glorious league of legends . I am big into trying new foods and hanging out with friends and playing Nintendo games along with board games . I have been trying to get into volleyball but that’s another one of my goals
You:
Honestly if anything of this vibes with you just give me a chat and tell me about yourself. It’s important to me that we enjoy the same activities so we can enjoy each others time.
Would eventually like to meet up in NJ or nearby area, but does not have to be right away

Just came back from Thailand and the best food I’ve had there was Pad Kra Pao. Basically spicy basil minced pork with an egg on top. Most Thai places I’ve looked at don’t have it in the menu. Any places you guys recommend?
