just skipped an exam worth 55% of my grade so i could b/p mcdonald’s and cake in a public bathroom. instead of preparing for the exam i spent hours planning my shopping list for my binge today
less than a month ago i was in hospital for a binge that almost killed me but it didn’t change my mindset at all. it actually just made me want to get worse
i’ve ghosted all my friends and literally only ever leave the house for work and uni because i feel too disgusting to be seen by other people. i have zero desire to connect with people and my best friend is my cat (who is lovely and i have no idea what i’d do without him). i have no hobbies or interests, my favourite pastime is straight up just browsing grocery stores online. the only thing i care about is food. i literally was too stingy to pay $100 for a training certificate for my job but was more than eager to spend $50 to binge on some soggy domino’s
i have absolutely zero quality of life but i’m CLINGING on to this disorder for some fucking reason. as much as it is the reason for my problems it’s also the only thing i have left in me. i don’t know who i am if i’m not trying to lose weight. i’m only 19 and these are supposed to be the best years of my life but i barely even feel like a person anymore.

So this dream was a transition from another dream, a stupid one at that, where my brother was pregnant and a charger gave birth for him. It starts in a train station during the Golden Age and a little girl with her father are walking towards a train, before a vampire comes up to them and attacks them, making his kind's first appearance in human history.
Time skip a bunch of decades later, there is a very edgy boy I'll name Ko that was recently assaulted by a very beautiful, tall appearance. He lives in a world similar to ours where secret societies of humans fight evil vampires and is shown writing very edgy messages on long bricks then dropping them on people passing by at night. Or maybe vampires. Ko is doing that from the 10th floor of a building belonging to this secret society, and there is an announcement from the HQ telling him to stop throwing fucking bricks out the window or they'll send backups. He then quickly runs in the hallway, where he meets a group of girls who debate on how to stop them vampires once and for all, and how there might be a traitor between them, in this building of anti-vampires. A new member walks up next to Ko and gives him a thick lock of her own precious long bright blue hair, which is said to repel vampires, saying he can find a way to stop this war. The group of girls turn their heads and beg Ko for at least one little strand of it. Again, Ko makes a run for it and finds his best friend. They brainstorm together ideas about how they could protect people from vampires using that fistful of hair, while remaining anonymous. Then they remember how grocery stores like Kaufland give kids small packages of collectable toys and pictures after every purchase of 50 dollars, so they decide to sneak that night in a factory that produces this stuff and cut up the strands of hair into pieces and put each of them in a bag, writing on the back of the packages that it's magical mermaid hair. The idea surprisingly works, and kids keep that stuff in their pockets.
Then there's a cut that shows us the royal family, where there is a quiet little prince who steals the hairs and uses them to fill up a ginormous fishbowl, knowing the true nature of the hair and also being terribly afraid of vampires, so he stocks up on that shit. Ko finds out and that kid is like "Oh, you got me. Take all these hairs except for like a dozen.".
In the last part of the dream there is a cut to a fight scene in a dark grocery store. A big middle-aged guy with a goatie is covered in blood and tries to talk sense into a tall, scarily beautiful vampire, saying that she can't go on like this forever and how she's been causing problems for centuries for fun. The woman smiles and hits him with the final blow. SHE TURNS OUT TO BE THE HQ OF THE ANTI-VAMPIRE GROUP!!

I am 23 years old, I have always been an introvert and never really wanted to put myself out there. I always thought of it as just being shy, but I recently accepted the fact that I overthink a lot, some nights I can’t sleep because all I hear in my head is a voice freaking out about everything in my life. I want to possibly get on medication, but I don’t want to get on medication if I don’t need to… if anyone could tell me what your symptoms were and if you chose to get on medication. we're currently traveling through Denmark by bike and before we leave odense tomorrow and go into more sparsely populated areas, I need to stock up on oatmilk. Which grocery stores sell Oatly or Alpro Oat Barista? I only know of Irma selling them in Denmark but I just realised that there is no Irma around here.
Also, is there any place that's selling cliff bars in Odense? They're our go to snack while on the bike and we just ran out.

I work part-time at the grocery store. I've worked there for a few months but I've been told I'm doing really well. My coworkers are helpful but my boss is different. He seemed nice, but he harassed me for a while, asking me to work extra hours even when I said no and stopped before doing it again towards the end of the month, texting me about work after hours (he did this a few times and has since stopped), paging me about missing tags even while I was doing it, telling me to make sure to make tags for any resets that day (which was either taken care of already or I was printing out tags for them), and asked me to do something and tried taking me to another aisle while I was replacing tags (I was removing tags so if I left the aisle and came back I would've made a mistake. I simply told him I would get to it afterwards but he didn't listen).
It was annoying at first but after a while it just made me uncomfortable. One day he kept harassing me to do tags despite the fact that 1) I have to do signs first 2) The tags came in yesterday and I spent 2 1/2 hours separating them while he kept harassing me over random tags and signs 3)there was a box full of tags and only one person helping me and 4) he didn't lift a finger to help. He even bothered me when I was taking a break (I was entitled to a 15 minute break). He asked me what I was doing and why I wasn't doing tags. He claimed I was “making him nervous” because apparently the tags are to be placed by that day (he even tried to get me to work full time just to complete everything). I ended up with a migraine and seconds from crying, so I left early.
It took me reporting twice to the union leader, talking to my store manager, and a conversation between me, a trusted coworker to support me, and my boss to get him to mostly leave me alone. Even then he tried breaking our agreement, so I left the room. Later on, my coworker came to me and apologized but said he would leave me alone from now on.
He stopped telling me about missing tags but would still greet me every day and even this would bother me. The store manager also spoke with me and told me that he didn't want me to leave the store and wanted me to feel comfortable, but said he was my boss and we needed to communicate.
At this point I'm just sick of it and I'm up right now so I don’t have to wake up and go to work.

So I live in Ontario, and anyone who lives here now knows how incredibly high rent is right now. We’re averaging at about 1800 a month for a 1 bedroom, at least it’s like that in the city i’m from. Basically i’m due to have my baby any second right now, and our apartment has been infested with german cockroaches for a few weeks, i’ve seen them in the fridge, bathroom and basically everywhere but the bedroom.
Me (24f) and my husband (25m) have been on the building managers ass about this saying its urgent to get this fixed but they just kept delaying things until they eventually got someone to come a few days ago which somehow made MORE cockroaches come out because they’re “escaping the poison”. We got this lease takeover almost 2 years ago and we’re paying 1000 for a building which the price is amazing but the place honestly isn’t the greatest, only pro is its a 2 bedroom. 2 bedrooms are going for about a minimum of 2000 right now where I live so I sound so ungrateful. But It has no in suite laundry and no ac/furnace which has been hell especially with a baby it’s gonna be even harder. We asked multiple times for them to change the fridge since we’ve seen these roaches of all sizes come out from the vents inside so we suspect they laid eggs there, they continue to ignore me which is seriously stressing me out cause what if I need to store milk for the baby and can risk contamination.
I also have a serious freaking phobia of insects so my whole body itches at the thought of one so imagine when I see one here what that does to me. Unrelated and TMI but I also woke up gushing blood thinking i was going into labour the other day, turns out it’s an infection that they can’t pin exactly where it’s from so things have been so incredibly stressful. I’m worried I ate something contaminated so we just have been eating takeout and avoiding the kitchen all together.
I go to the washroom stressed every 5 mins cause i dont know if i’m gonna see blood again or a roach in my face crawling super fast. The advice I need is basically my husband and I have been considering moving asap cause this roach situation clearly isn’t going anywhere and if it is we have to beg the building managers non stop which I have no tolerance for rn. Thing is a 1 bedroom is averaging at like 1900, and the apartment we’re interested in moving to at is small af for 1700 but it has in suite laundry and a balcony which we don’t have right now and have always desired. Space will be tight inside (its open concept though which ours isn’t right now) also the location is so perfect. It’s between my moms house and his parents so I won’t feel entirely alone and will have a lot of support with my first baby when my husband is at work with the one car we have and I will always have a place to walk to or be cause as of right now everything is so far so when he’s at work I stay home all day, its also next to grocery store gym and everything the location couldn’t be more perfect.
Only issue is i dont know if we’re being impulsive even though I looked at rent day and night and the prices are so ridiculous we can’t afford any of the 2 bedrooms. What I wanna know is are we being impulsive wanting this one bedroom for 1700 cause I feel so set on it I can’t think of any cons other than the extra expense that we could be saving. I just wanna run away from this apartment. The 1700 is a clean luxury building and the one we’re in now is super ghetto with cracks everywhere it just feels so old. We have no in suite laundry or AC/heating.
We aren’t really well off so saving the money would be ideal, my husband makes about 3200 a month and with mat leave I’ll be bringing in about 1500 a month. We don’t have much saved right now and again aren’t well off at all. Together we can probably make it work in that building but we just don’t know if it’s a smart or impulsive decision. We can save so much staying here (800/mo) but is it really worth it if we’re this uncomfortable right now. I dont even know how we’re gonna bring the baby home to this in the meantime.
Also apparently roach infestations can’t actually go away forever, even with treatment they find their way back whether a few weeks to a month from now. I personally don’t mind a smaller space if it’s a clean and brand new building which that one is. I cant tell if i sound like i’m trying to convince myself or if these are actually valid points. Someone who isn’t as maybe blinded as me please give it to me straight lol
Also side note: i’m an extreme clean freak so the infestation didn’t happen out of my own negligence i can guarantee you that, its a building wide issue right now I’m pretty sure since the pest control crew always seems to be “booked”

This is not my first post on this subreddit. And just to let you know, this might be a bit of a long post, I'm not sure yet, I'm just making this up as I go along and writing this as a way to conceptualize my way forward. I'm not going to make this post graphic or anything like that because I do not want to trigger anyone and moreover, its just not that necessary in some respects. Here's the truth, I think I am done with counting days, I think I am done with different "methods" , I'm tired of watching guide videos on youtube that I think are going to give me that golden key, that piece of information that is going to change everything for me. No, what I am going to do is read and watch Gary Wilson lectures and educate myself.
My story is pretty typical. I saw a magazine cover in the grocery store as a preteen. This was basically the first time I had ever seen and really registered something like that. I took note of the model's name and quickly began looking up the name to find images online. It started with these static images. I would look at these. Slowly, I began to take note of and search other models and actresses I came across on magazines, very brazenly displayed in the grocery store I might add. Now, I'm not here to make a lecture about how porn or sexualized images should be banned or anything like that, however, it is very concerning that it is so easy for anyone of any age to glimpse that material.
Anyway, moving forward, I stuck with the images for maybe 2-3 years. I never M or O ed at this point. I was constantly worried about somebody finding out, I painstakingly hid all evidence. I would feel miserably guilty about this and go stretches of time without engaging in that material. Unfortunately, no one ever caught me. If someone had caught me this might have ended much sooner. But I guess props to me for being crafty enough to keep it all hidden (that's right, we keep our senses of humor around here).
Next, I found the videos. It was pretty vanilla nude videos. Nothing hardcore and bizarrely harmless now that I think back on it. Still no M or O ing at this point, but I felt extremely guilty about how much time I was wasting away from friends and family on what I had already begun to see as a filthy part of my life. I think it was also this point when I started to feel extremely conflicted about my religious upbringing with this habit. I felt like I should do something about through religious means, but I was scared to talk to anyone about it, and in some ways I still am although, definitely less so. Now we are getting up to the middle teenage years if that wasn't clear by the way.
Time goes on, I'm still relatively in the same place. I watch these videos, do not m or o and still go long periods of time without consuming. Occasionally, I was looking at resources about how to quit, but not officially looking at nofap or anything like that. I honestly wish that this had been the end. I wish that I had found the courage and the power and the self-governance to call it quits on this habit and never look back. However, as you probably can assume I did not.
Here I go. Late teen now, this is when the hardcore stuff starts to come up. Around this time would have been when I had started watching the hub and other such websites and the mainstream fetish type material one sees on there. I am happy to say that at least I have never been one to even engage with some of the weirder and darker fetishes though, so that it was positive thing I have had control on. Still had never m or o ed. I am much more successful at going long periods of time without engaging in the material. I think I was probably using p every two months or something like that. Again, I was just watching it.
Naturally, I moved to the next stage of my life, young adulthood and early college. This is the first time I ever PMO all together. Seeking out hardcore videos to get the job done became my regular go to activity. I was still trying to fight it and going long periods of time without engaging in it, however, as time went on, my usage was becoming more and more frequent. I had often told myself throughout all of this "when you hit the age of X you should have grown out of this and should leave it behind" I just kept shifting the goal post. So now, we are just about caught up.
Now through all of this, I have intentionally not had a long term girlfriend because I have been afraid of her finding out or feeling enslaved to the screen. I have lost so much self esteem and wasted so much precious time which really hurts me. I often feel like I have betrayed people who tell me I am good person when I relapse and I feel like I have betrayed myself because I know and feel that this habit and porn as a whole is bad for me and has many negative aspects to it. I know I need to forgive myself. I see that I must just stop this action. That's all there is to it. I don't want to do it, I don't need to do it, it makes me feel worse, it has held me back in life, it has wasted my time, it has driven a massive wedge through who I am and who I want to be. I know this is easier said than done and in the moment things feel different. But I feel like I am ready. Not ready for 30 days, not ready for 60, not ready for 90 days. I am ready for today, believe me, I have know idea what is going to happen tomorrow, but I know what is going to happen today (or should I say not happen).

Look, dating hasn't been going great these past few years - I wouldn't say I have any horror stories, but it is difficult to find that genuine connection for my balance of grounded, quirky, shy, anxious, fun-loving, creative, loving, and occasional self-loathing that I embody. In terms of typical qualities, I gotta be honest: I'm not an ambitious, travel-loving, type-A grindset kind of guy. I'm a comfortable bug, happy at home or walking in empty spaces with music in my ears, listening to my friends' problems and then watching shows or playing games with them online, looking forward to cooking something simple yet tasty so I can have leftovers the next day kind of guy. I think I can be exciting and challenging, and I'm willing to do a lot for a person I like but you probably won't find a jet-setting whirlwind romance here, sorry.
In terms of hobbies, I love learning about history, cooking, trivia, engineering projects, scientific discoveries, how things work, why things are the way they are. I play a lot of games in my free time, and I'd like to play games with you (although the sweaty PvP ones I might sit out unless we REALLY hit it off). I collect and read tabletop RPGs and board games, and enjoy comics and webcomics as well. Of course I watch shows and often the same shows - I would really enjoy introducing some of my favorites to you. In general I am very passionate about discussing the little nerdy intricacies of things that I am into and in equal measure I'd love to hear you geek out about your favorite stuff as well. My taste in music covers the entire gamut but my top most-played for 2022 included a lot of theatrical rock, shoegaze, prog/jazz fusion, indie pop, and heavy metal/hardcore - I wish I went to more concerts. Horror movies are cool but I'll watch anything if there is someone to talk to during. I don't write much as a hobby these days since doing it for work but running a good tabletop game will get me motivated in a heartbeat.
I also have a cute little chihuahua/terrier who is afraid that every stranger wants to ruin her life, I exercise regularly, and I enjoy hiking/biking/bouldering for more active activities.
Socially, I am very introverted. Physically, I must apologize on my behalf - I am excessively average in appearance. 5'8", brown haibrown eyes, dad bod although I have been working consistently to reach a more fit figure and would consider that a realistic goal for me. I have a big bushy beard and looong hair down to my tailbone, although I have no particular attachment to it and would let any potential future partner have a strong voice on if it stays or if it goes. I've never tried to dress for anyone else but myself - I tend to wear a lot of grey or earth-tone khaki pants, button-down shirt over t-shirt, and a jacket if it is cold. Title says it all. Got up to grab something from the nearby grocery store and came back to some of my programs unresponsive and attempting to restart my pc led to me forcefully turning it off and on, then getting stuck on a loading screen despite attempts to put my pc in recovery mode. I decided to try unplugging each drive and discovered that windows 11 pretty much won't let me use my computer if my 4tb Seagate Barracuda HDD is plugged in. I plan on getting a sata to usb adapter and hopefully another HDD of similar size and wanted to know if theres anything I can maybe troubleshoot in the meantime? I'm afraid its done for but at the same time i'm holding out hope that I can somehow retrieve the data from it since I had so many important programs and files. I tried a different sata port and cable for it but no matter what windows wouldn't boot with it, even with a different ssd with a fresh install on it.
