Just as the title suggests, i think im made a huge mistake. Ive "graduated" from manga/manhua etc to novels 10 months ago when i re-read reverend insanitys manhua for the 3rd time , and feeling sad it was axed on a chapter before i even saw what was in the flower monks inheritance ,i decided to finally start reading novels and start with this one. 2334 Chapters later i have to say i loved this godamn novel so much. Now after seeking all of the novel recommendations by others here and reading

I have to say... that i view all new novels as boring ,i keep noticing plot holes(because i overanalyse every line in a novel and try to predict what will happen -still RI almoast never let me down with that), it just doesnt hit the same as RI, i feel like RI has spoiled me too much regarding the lack of plot holes, world building, side characters, splendid writing,philosophy, mythology(legends of ren Zu),ACTUAL POLITICS (on a small scale with the clan rules and the super clans late ron ) etc...
that i now except every novel to be like that, i wish i wouldnt have read RI and just kept it as the last novel i would ever read.
Personally i just think that the bar for Xianxia is set so incredibly low and that people just consume the novels mentioned above and write reviews on webnovel . com calling them "masterpieces" and allowing the authors to continue with this, instead of trying to innovate. The only novels i exclude are Reverend Insanity and LOTM(though lotm just isnt for me ) that manage to break the usual bs of Xianxia (op mc, cheats , young maste courting death , plain cultivation systems like gOd rEaLm, never losing battles, or pulling a trump card we have never seen before last minute before he loses the fight -Im really happy that in RI the author just lays down everything for you to see and not using bs not mentioned before without us seeing it)

Despite still being on duty, as Daniel stepped foot onto Olinath Orbital, he felt a wave of relief and relaxation, finally free from the weight of the recent events. He looked to his side as Oprin stepped into the station, who began to look around in wonder at the much larger structure that didn't feel as tight as either the ship or the bunkers. She continued on forward, watching some of the Navy personnel out of the window as they worked, performing initial checks and maintenance on the exterior of the Trailmaker. The pair continued to walk down the docking arm until they reached the main body of the station, where things began to open up further, with many wide and long corridors allowing large groups of people to travel easily, with some smaller ones branching off, allowing access to some of the less busy areas.
Most of the people walking around were Navy personnel, either services the docked ships or the station itself, though there was the odd group of Langan exploring their new temporary home. The pair continued on past them though, heading towards the centre of the station where they were both needed. Daniel guided Oprin to the nearest treadmill, which they both hopped into, speeding up their walk down the long corridor as they made their way to the central hall, stopping a short walk away which they walked unassisted.
As the pair entered the room, they were greeted to the sight of a large crowd, bursting with activity, that upon further inspection turned out to be a few hundred Langan, conversing with a number of UPC officials and three Deities, the first being Celenamartra, but the other two being Deities that Daniel had never met before, though he could identify them by their appearances matching their pictures well.
"I know Celenamartra, but who are the other two?" Oprin asked.
"The large Blue Dragon is Liathock, the God often popularly worshipped by those interested in space and exploration, history, and the mysteries of the world around us, and the Elven woman is Valan'srah, the Goddess often associated with trade, commerce, and powerful magic," Daniel explained.
"Are they nice like Celenamartra?"
"From what I've heard, all the Deities are nice, though they sometimes work in confusing ways that don't always make sense that can leave some people frustrated and annoyed."
"I see…" she replied, getting slightly worried about their reason for being here.
"It's been a long time since any number of them were together in public off of Earth though. Either they wanted to give you a really warm welcome, or they're planning something," Daniel concluded.
"Like what?"
"I have a guess, but I don't want to get your hopes up."
“So you think something good will happen?” Oprin asked.
“Most likely. They tend to only act to do good. It’s usually when they don’t act that people can be disappointed.”
“I see…” she trailed off, looking at some of the people in the crowd. “I don’t recognise everyone here, and some of them look quite healthy…. Did we wake some of them up? Excuse me a moment.”
“Of course,” Daniel replied as she headed into the crowd. He then began to look around, quickly spotting Captain Harris standing at the side of the room on her own, so he headed over, making sure he was still easily spottable to Oprin in case she started looking for him. “Captain.”
“Lieutenant Commander,” Captain Harris replied. “How are you finding things so far?”
“I’ve admittedly only just arrived. Had a report to write and some drama around the sleeping quarters to deal with.”
“Sergeant Richards?” the Captain asked.
“I don’t know his name, but I know he works in engineering. Tall and quite muscular, but I get the feeling he does heavy lifting and not the bulk of the thinking.”
“Thanks for setting him straight before the other senior officers descended on him.”
“You’re welcome, Captain. On another note, am I correct in thinking that some of the Langan here were from cryo pods?”
“Mhm. 187 pods failed in transit, and the occupants woke up.”
“No deaths?”
“None,” she confirmed.
“Those pods are something else….”
“They’re very simple, and Langan biology seems particularly resilient to rapid freezing, though it’s evidently a random quirk rather than an evolutionary advantage given how quickly they need to be frozen to survive.”
“They’re very lucky then.”
“Indeed,” the Captain agreed.
“So, what happens now?”
“Overseer Tenmus and a few Langan politicians that have been woken up are working out some finer details that were put as delayed negotiation points on the original offer to join the UPC. Political structures and integration targets, that sort of thing.”
“Do you think there’s going to be any issues?”
“That depends on the old politicians. The government they were a part of was an oligarchic meritocracy, and we’re a social capitalist democracy. It’s going to cause some integration pains if they stick to that, but given that the old government doesn’t exactly have a lot of power, and a lot of the Langan that are awake don’t exactly revere them, things might change.”
“What about the sleeping ones? Do you think they might have a lot of their elite still frozen that will disagree?”
“They were in Bunker 02. There were no intact pods in that one, despite being designed to be the safest of the lot.”
“Ah, yes, the one with too much concrete to shield them,” Daniel replied, remembering the video of the improperly supported ceiling resting on top of thousands of smashed cryo pods. “I wonder how many bunkers would have survived if they’d figured out the importance of rebar.”
“Nine bunkers were lost due to structural failure. There’s no guarantee that they wouldn’t have succumbed to any of the other many issues the other bunkers did, which some likely would have, but they might have made it,” she replied. “There’s also no guarantee that the rebar they would have used would have been suitable for weather that cold. It could have caused uneven contractions that might have caused cracks to form faster.”
“Maybe…” Daniel sighed, trying not to focus on the loss of life.
The room suddenly grew quiet as one of the doors to the room opened, and four Langan walked in, one of which was Overseer Tenmus, as well as a number of UPC officials, including the President of the UPC: a tall male Human who was noticeably aged, but Daniel knew was undergoing immortality treatments every so often. A microphone was presented to the Overseer, and he cleared his throat as he prepared to speak.
"Welcome all in attendance. It is with great privilege that I can declare that the Langan people have officially joined the UPC," Overseer Tenmus announced, gaining cheats from the crowd of Langan, and claps from everyone else in attendance. "There will be some changes, but given what we've all been through, I'm sure you'll all agree that change is most welcome. Going forward, we shall be changing how we decide who is in charge, and nominating people into the UPC's political forms, of which we currently have a seat in both the two main bodies to ensure fair representation, with more seats available once our population increases so that we are no longer a minor colony. These positions will be filled by a vote of all people on our new home. These votes will happen shortly after the celebrations.
"We have also decided to switch our local government to a similar system, with a transitional period of ten years from the current leadership to ensure the initial stages go smoothly, with votes occurring every five years after that. A technological enlightenment program has been established, and the plan is for students in schools to be taught about the new technologies, while analogues for what we have been used to will be made available so there isn't a harsh transition. Learning about the new technologies is encouraged however, as they provide many benefits. All other details of the agreement remain unchanged, and the vote on naming our new planet is still planned to be held once everyone has been woken up. With that, I thank you for listening, and I will now hand over to President Finley."
There was another round of cheers and clapping as the Human President stepped forward, quickly shaking hands with the Overseer as he took the microphone.
"Thank you, Overseer Tenmus," the President began, glancing at the camera at the back of the room. "There has been a dream from long before the peoples of the UPC reached the stars that one day we would find that we are not alone out there. We knew there was a strong chance we weren't, but despite us looking, the Universe was always silent. Today, however, we now know that we are not alone, and I am proud that we can stand hand-in-hand with people from another world, and that we can work together to make the Universe a better place. The UPC stands fully committed to supporting the Langan people as they grow, and our hand is outstretched so we may stand side by side as one people. Today marks a turning point in history that will be remembered for millennia. Thank you all for listening."
There was an awkward momentary shuffle as the three Deities walked over to the microphone, positioning themselves in front of the camera, the size of the two Dragons forcing it to be tilted upwards so that a window overlooking the planet below was in shot.
"Greetings, everyone," Celenamartra began. "Today, the three of us have met with many of the Langan people, heard their plights, and listened about many of their woes. Their world was far outside our jurisdiction, and I am saddened to see what happened because of that. However, the Langan people now have the full support of all Deities."
"We all agree that we should help them," Valan'srah added. "They have lost too much to start over with no help from us."
"And I'm sure many of you feel that you'd want to help in any way you can after what they've been through," Liathock took over. "Too often do tragedies happen, but their entire home becoming uninhabitable through no fault of their own is an unspeakable tragedy."
"Which is why we're committed to doing what we can to help them," Celenamartra continued. "During the rescue efforts, a number of plant seeds and animal eggs were recovered from their home, and the plan was to use them to slowly terraform their new home. There’s not enough to restore the full biodiversity they were used to, but there is enough to create a stable biosphere. It would be a slow process that would have left the Langan people station-bound for months or likely even years, and would take decades to complete. The UPC has already brought the planet into a position where the process can start, so we thought we ought to do our part."
The crowd began to murmur in disbelief as the planet behind the Deities began to turn greener and greener, until the once rocky surface was completely transformed into a lush forest that spanned almost the whole planet, only stopping at the oceans, frozen poles, and a thin strip of desert near the equator. Daniel couldn't help but smile to himself as his earlier guess proved to be right.
"We are now equally committed to the Langan as we are to any other people, and we will ensure that they get the help they need. Thank you for listening," Valan'srah concluded, heading off camera with the other two Deities.

"Hey, so, do you think they're expecting us to worship them now?" Oprin asked Daniel as they headed towards the hangar they had been directed to.
"Probably not. The Deities have never been ones to ask for worship, and have even discouraged it at times," he replied, checking which shuttle they were on. "At most they'd like to be respected as Deities, or an equivalent that is suitable in your culture."
"I think they will get that," Oprin assured him, entering the hangar.
Daniel led her over to their shuttle, which was a medium sized cargo shuttle that had a small prefabricated house attached to its cargo mounting point. After they boarded, a few more Langan joined them on board, and the shuttle took off, sliding out of the hangar and immediately heading for the planet. The ride was relaxingly smooth compared to the ones from the Langan's old home, and before too long, they reached the green plain near a large river that was destined to be where the first Langan settlement was established. The house was dropped off at its designated spot, where a waiting team quickly installed it, and the shuttle then landed to let its passengers disembark.
As Daniel and Oprin stepped on onto the grass-like plant growth beneath them, Oprin took in a deep breath of fresh air, and sat herself down, looking up at the sky as shuttles flew past, delivering people, supplies, and more buildings. She watched as a particularly large ship floated down to the nearby river, depositing the foundations of a water treatment plant, which it then began to construct properly. She then watched as a freighter dropped off a series of large buildings, with a hospital, a school, and a UPC embassy being the three dropped off close enough for her to make out.
"It's really over now, isn't it?" Oprin asked.
"Yes, it is," Daniel confirmed, sitting down next to her. "It might take a little while for things to properly settle into the new normal, but you're not in any danger anymore."
"I'm not wasting your time, am I?"
"No, my current duty is to help the person who helped us. Basically, you've got me for a few days to help you with whatever you need."
“So I have a servant?”
“I guess,” Daniel shrugged.
Oprin let out a small chuckle before watching more buildings be installed. “I’m surprised by how many buildings you have already if this wasn’t something that the UPC planned to happen today.”
“The station in orbit is designed to quickly churn out most buildings needed for the early colonisation phase. All you need to do is feed the factories with the right resources, and the prefabs can be churned out in a few dozen minutes. The prefabs aren’t exactly as good as properly built structures, but they are still pretty good. I don’t know the resource situation, but I doubt we’ll get everything needed to wake up all the cryo pods before the stockpiles run out and more have to be shipped in.”
“It looks like there's more than enough for a thousand people already though.”
“Ture, but bear in mind there will be some other people from the UPC living here to work in the power plant, water treatment, hospital, and so on. We can’t just dump foreign tech on you and expect everything to go smoothly, can we?”
“I suppose…. Hey, do you think my new house is installed yet?” she asked.
“No idea. Wanna find out?”

I like meeting new people a whole ton. One of my greatest gifts is my silver tongue. It sounds super cheesy, but I have a real fun time getting men & women, party-goers & teetotalers, monarchists & communists alike to open up and chat with me about whatever they're excited about.
Some make for better conversationalists than others. Old people and kids are great talkers. Foreigners are also very insightful and curious about new surroundings. The coolest people though are the ones that never smothered their childlike wonder as they grew up.
It's the people that spend their time changing their own little world through cooking and writing and painting and proving and making something with their own thoughts and imagination; They are the ones that also see the world as endlessly malleable to their hands.
So send me the fruits of your labor. It can be recipes you've cooked or corny websites you wrote or soundcloud links to your garage band or rebuilt motorcycles or any other creative endeavor you wanna show and tell.
Don't worry about sharing something too small or difficult to explain, but please do share something as an intro though. You get way more color out of someone's creativity over nonsense smalltalk.
That's an awful lot for a stranger to ask though. I wanna share a bit of a "progress report" on some projects and hobbies to equal out the potential friend debt I'm putting on you.

Some things I like:

Math – Most of the math fun I've been having has been through trying to retype my notes into a readable LaTeX guide for others. TBH, being a real math tutor this year showed me just how brutal real math education is to students. I do hope to cheer myself up this summer though and use my awesome new (used) blackboard to finally prove the FTC.
Reading – Some books I'm reading/have read: Siddhartha by Hesse, Kafka on the Shore by Murakami, Mythology by Hamilton, The Passenger by McCarthy, and Antifragile by Taleb. I want to read some real philosophy this summer as I figured out how to get free books on my ereader now. Tabién voy a tratar de leer más español porque todavia sigo medio tarugo leyéndolo.
Linux/Coding – As part of my quest to make my dependencies in life comprehensible to me, I've been daily driving Linux/Vim/dwm/posix compliant shell/anything that can increase my computer knowledge/pretension. Right now, my old ThinkPad is completely disassembled with a Pomona'd pi ready to Libreboot... but I'm too anxious that I'll mess up my bios chip, so it's still just sitting there :/ I'm also teaching myself C to undo matlab & excel "coding" I learned in college.
History – I don't really dig the HOI4-Sabaton axis where history is just cool lore like LOTR or Star Wars. To me, "tangible history," i.e. history that's a lot more personal either as allegory or as direct cause to the present matters so much more. One of my favorite albums, Deceit does this perfectly for it's Cold War politics present. I've read my third Chomsky book and will finally read Manufacturing Consent once I finish How to Hide an Empire. I also got myself a bunch of old Israeli shekels, Soviet rubles, Austrian schillings, etc.

Other things I like:

• Rock N Roll (beatles, king crimson, fleet foxes, simon and garfunkel, elliott smith, brian eno)

Hi, everyone!
In no way does this post need urgent replies as I am a recent high school graduate starting my undergrad at the University of Chicago in September. However, I would like a feel for the steps I need to take to get into a great grad school so I can keep them in the back of my mind as I go through the next four years.
Just so you know, I've been considering majoring in variations of statistics, polisci, and compsci in hopes of whether becoming a political analyst or quant. Ideally, I would like to attend an HYPSM (mainly MIT and Harvard) for graduate school
I'd really appreciate it if y'all could answer these questions and give any other advice that comes to mind:

1. What were your academic stats and how did you remain academically competitive?
2. What were your ECs
3. What did you do in your summers?
4. How did you build relationships with teachers for rec letters/ how did you know who to ask for recs/ do I even need recs for grad?
5. How important is research?
6. Do I need time before my bachelor's and grad? What did you do during this time?

Hi I am a curious tamil movie lover from a different state. When I was a kid I had watched few movies of Vijaykanth, never knew his name at that time. Tired of people spreading that toxic positivity: “you can do it!” Or “take life in your hands!” While they watch you suffering from the sidelines as if your life is some kind of telenova and they’re gonna need some popcorn for it. [insert Michael Jackson eating popcorn gif here] It’s like sorry, but even if I can do it, I’m not gonna be able to do it alone.
I feel like if you can’t get your basic needs met, there’s no way you can reach to the top. It’s like what came first… the chicken or the egg? You can’t really get a good job when you’re filthy and can’t function well if you’re lacking sleep, and can’t really build connections if you’re lacking that self esteem from love and belonging. Meanwhile, you can’t really get your physiological needs met if you don’t have a job. Kind of like jobs not hiring you unless you have experience, but you needing a job in order to gain experience. It all starts with a little help and compassion for others.
And it also hurts when people criticize you and say you must be a lazy, alcoholic, addict, etc, “and that’s why you’re in this position” when you’re not and have never touched a single drug in your life, but you’re the product of addicts and never really had that support network or “unconditional love” that you needed in your life, and now you’re homeless and people are just condemning you for it left and right as if it’s all in your control, as if your early disposition in life has nothing to do with it. I like meeting new people a whole ton. One of my greatest gifts is my silver tongue. It sounds super cheesy, but I have a real fun time getting men & women, party-goers & teetotalers, monarchists & communists alike to open up and chat with me about whatever they're excited about.
Some make for better conversationalists than others. Old people and kids are great talkers. Foreigners are also very insightful and curious about new surroundings. The coolest people though are the ones that never smothered their childlike wonder as they grew up.
It's the people that spend their time changing their own little world through cooking and writing and painting and proving and making something with their own thoughts and imagination; They are the ones that also see the world as endlessly malleable to their hands.
So send me the fruits of your labor. It can be recipes you've cooked or corny websites you wrote or soundcloud links to your garage band or rebuilt motorcycles or any other creative endeavor you wanna show and tell.
Don't worry about sharing something too small or difficult to explain, but please do share something as an intro though. You get way more color out of someone's creativity over nonsense smalltalk.
That's an awful lot for a stranger to ask though. I wanna share a bit of a "progress report" on some projects and hobbies to equal out the potential friend debt I'm putting on you.

Some things I like:

Math – Most of the math fun I've been having has been through trying to retype my notes into a readable LaTeX guide for others. TBH, being a real math tutor this year showed me just how brutal real math education is to students. I do hope to cheer myself up this summer though and use my awesome new (used) blackboard to finally prove the FTC.
Reading – Some books I'm reading/have read: Siddhartha by Hesse, Kafka on the Shore by Murakami, Mythology by Hamilton, The Passenger by McCarthy, and Antifragile by Taleb. I want to read some real philosophy this summer as I figured out how to get free books on my ereader now. Tabién voy a tratar de leer más español porque todavia sigo medio tarugo leyéndolo.
Linux/Coding – As part of my quest to make my dependencies in life comprehensible to me, I've been daily driving Linux/Vim/dwm/posix compliant shell/anything that can increase my computer knowledge/pretension. Right now, my old ThinkPad is completely disassembled with a Pomona'd pi ready to Libreboot... but I'm too anxious that I'll mess up my bios chip, so it's still just sitting there :/ I'm also teaching myself C to undo matlab & excel "coding" I learned in college.
History – I don't really dig the HOI4-Sabaton axis where history is just cool lore like LOTR or Star Wars. To me, "tangible history," i.e. history that's a lot more personal either as allegory or as direct cause to the present matters so much more. One of my favorite albums, Deceit does this perfectly for it's Cold War politics present. I've read my third Chomsky book and will finally read Manufacturing Consent once I finish How to Hide an Empire. I also got myself a bunch of old Israeli shekels, Soviet rubles, Austrian schillings, etc.

In my community (I'm from an Eastern European country) and online there's a lot of talk of the incoming Bitcoin crackdown by. government and how they are going to ban it and price will go down a lot.
Some peeps are saying "No way, the government isn't going to stand for this Bitcoin revolution." But, babes, that's not quite right. This mindset is kinda treating governments as these huge, unified, do-it-all machines. But are they, though?
When you really get into it, governments are basically just groups of people with shared interests. It could be money stuff, trading, similar cultures, or even political ties. They're not this one big economic monster that some anti-Bitcoiners are making them out to be. And what's really holding them together? Their share in this old-school power system: gold.
But check this out, as the services these government bodies offer become more meh compared to what we're paying, more and more people are gonna want out. They'll be like, "Why am I sticking with this monetary monopoly that's just not cutting it?" This will start a trend, and we'll see a massive #BitcoinExit.
And, babes, it's not just us, the regular peeps. The big shots—cops, judges, regulators—they're gonna feel the heat too. Unless they're totally clueless or way too gung-ho about their loyalty, they won't be able to ignore the vibe to leave the old money system.
Once those with some serious influence in the government start sliding into the Bitcoin DMs, they'll begin to vibe with its success. This could totally shake things up, disrupting the power dynamics in every government from the inside out.
Bitcoin is like this irresistible trend that just can't be tamed, a total financial storm that no government can weather. Everyone wants to take control of their own lives, and Bitcoin is the trend that's giving us a voice. It's about us stepping up and owning our financial futures. I mean, Bitcoin is basically the new #FinancialFreedomChallenge.

MP Sean Fraser - (MP from Central Nova), recently gave an anecdotal note in an interview suggesting clinics and businesses in his community in Nova Scotia were closing due to lack of people. However, majority of immigrants entering Canada in our generous immigration program settle in Ontario, Quebec, and BC. In 2022 for instance, 227,235 new immigrants settled in Ontario, 83,200 settled in BC and only 13,816 immigrants settled in Nova Scotia.
Immigrants come to Canada in search of better opportunities and want their children to fulfill their potential. When one weighs up their options, it becomes clear why NS has been dealing with brain drain for decades. There is zero reason for an ambitious young family to settle in Nova Scotia. There are no internationally renouned universities like U of T and McGill, no major sports franchise, high living cost, lack of opportunities, etc.
Meanwhile, due to surge of new immigrants, uncapped international student population, and low housing starts, homelessness is record high in Ontario and BC, young people cannot find affordable dwelling, and the healthcare infrastructure is on the brink of collapse.
Atleast what is clear is that other provinces are brim full of people and Nova Scotia is not. Have there been conversations around increasing competitiveness of Nova Scotian economy? Have any measures been taken? I do apologize if this comes off as offensive, but federal votes by Nova Scotians affects other Canadians and I think this is a conversation worth having.

Hello! It's evening here right now, I had a long and busy day - I moved one week ago, but slowly everything is starting to fall into place. I had a great and productive day, slowly making this apartment my home :) I'd love to have some company - but, who am I? I am 22 and graduated university a while ago. I'm relaxing with a tea right now, sitting on the balcony while dusk starts to set in, would you like a Tea, too? I have coffee as well!
I enjoy travel and have been to thirteen different countries so far. Lately I mostly travel to different cities that are close by! I love taking public transport and listening to music during it - then again, I pretty much always listen to music. Exploring is another great thing and my biggest passion is probably photography (especially when combining all these things).
I read a lot and enjoy writing, too, as well as editing photos I take. I am a bit of a creative person and am also very much into self-improvement! I am learning French, cook and bake and like to cycle a lot. There are lots of other topics that interest me, like urban planning, technology, history, horror, politics and... Just a whole lot more. I also have a fable for fancy lighting and radios!
So... If any of that sounds interesting to you, why not reach out? We might have a pleasant conversation or might even become friends! The Big 3 have always had a problem with rushing redemption stories, they rushed Hawk in S4 giving him way less time than he deserved for a redemption arc and an AVT champion arc, and they rushed Robby making him a yesman to Johnny in Mexico and destroying his independent, rebellious and lone-wolf nature. In Season 6 they have to write Tory’s and Kenny’s redemption arc and I feel it might be a disappointment again. They shouldn't sideline redemption characters like Hawk or Tory nor give them a reduced role but the opposite.
So I have decided to write a fanfic focusing on redemption characters arcs (whether failed or sucessful) and their rivals, specially Hawk-Demetri, Tory-Sam and in a minor way, Robby-Kenny (because they’re master and apprentice, not rivals). I’ve given less protagonism to Miguel and Robby on purpose because this is supposed to be only the first half of the season, and as they are the two main contenders for winning the Sekai Taikai, I want them to give room to other characters in the first half of the season and then Miguel and Robby could be the focus on the last part of the season. I also don’t want the Sekai Taikai to be the main narrative drive in the first half on the season, it should only be focused on the last part.
I've left multiple paths open so the readers can choose their favourite scenarios in a "make your own adventure" way, but I've still develop more the one which I prefer because I can't develop everyone.
Hawk should have a conflict over Robby being Daniel's favourite student, and Hawk should complain to Daniel that he's not being fairly treated as he tried to save Miyagi-do and is the male champion in S4 AVT while Robby was in CK trying to get Miyagi-do banned. Daniel won't realize he's playing favourites by prioritizing Robby- Daniel and Hawk had barely had any interaction in S4 and S5, compare this with Daniel close connection with Robby in S1, S2 and reopening the dojo in S5-.
Hawk could have two arcs, one (worse) that regresses his character into being jealous and reignites his rivalry with Robby and one (better) in which Hawk is more mature and he's instead disappointed with Daniel lying to him or denying he has favourites, in both of them Hawk could join Johnny's Eagle Fang, quit karate or maybe even joining Kreese's CK if he's demoralized and manipulated (specially if he's jealous).
Demetri could have a mediator role, trying to improve the relation between Hawk and Robby, as he's friendly with both, may try to keep Hawk in Miyagi-do, attempt to convince Daniel to spend more time with Hawk
Also, Demetri is the moral compass and the most Miyagi-like on the show so he could have also an unique conflict arc with Daniel, opposing the idea of joining the Sekai Taikai with the only purpose of stopping or destroying Cobra Kai once and for all, pointing out to Daniel that joining a world tournament to destroy another dojo -change CK name for Topanga Karate or Locust Valley- sounds insane or evil and having his first mayor fallout trust with Daniel as Demetri consider Daniel is going against Miyagi-do principles.
And maybe feeling disappointed with Daniel and Hawk conflict, or by his own conflict with Daniel, Demetri could end quitting karate with Hawk (at least for a time), which could cause Daniel to rethink and reflect on his ways.
Tory should try to redeem (and possibly fail, a failed honest redemption attempt would be new and interesting) herself and join Miyagi-Fang, but Amanda should tell her in a conversation that she only learned about her family situation in S4 thanks to Kreese. So Tory would be on a quest to find about Kreese whereabouts and would be loyal to Kreese, not because she's evil, but because she's grateful for all Kreese did for her. Tory would be the first to find Kreese and 3 scenarios may happen: that Kreese let her go and join Miyagi-fang, that Kreese recruits her into Kreese's Cobra Kai and she openly abandons Miyagi-fang or that Tory joins Kreese in secret and acts like a mole in Miyagi-fang trying to recruit some members.
This plot influences and interacts with each other, and everyhing is linked. Maybe Tory subverts Hawk, who no longer believes in Daniel, and fills him with more doubts regarding Miyagi-do (most interesting scenario), maybe she fails and get exposed. If Tory is raising any suspicion, Sam would notice it and be extremely paranoid, so I could see Sam trying to expel Tory out of Miyagi-do
Sam trying to expel Tory out of Miyagi-fang and getting into a "purge mode", trying to find all potential CK moles and casting shadow and putting blame on old CK's like Kawk, Robby or Kenny.
Tory gets expelled by Sam so Tory openly joins Cobra Kai, which causes an argument between her and Robby, with Robby threatening to break their relationship. There are three options here, whether Robby breaks with her again, Robby decides to keep their relation secret and pretend they’ve broken in public lying to the Miyagi-fangs or Robby stays with her. I’d prefer the second one, because it opens two other options, whether Robby is discovered or not. I prefer a paranoical Sam in spy mode discovering Robby for the sake of the story, but maybe the audience has any other preference.
Silver should be out of jail, he only got exposed of bribing a ref, and that's no major crime to end-up in jail. They have no evidence on Silver being behind the burning of Barnes furniture store and Stingray testimony isn't reliable. Silver should try to rebuild Cobra Kai and he could blackmail Kenny telling him that he can free his brother Shawn Payne from juvie using his lawyers if Kenny becomes a mole at Miyagi-fang and steal Miyagi-secrets and Miyagi’s medal of honour. (Silver had an interest about it in his first encounter with Mr. Miyagi in KK3.)
Kenny goes to Miyagi dojo, but watches Robby training Anthony, so he decides to go back, when in that moment he collides with Hawk. Hawk ask him what is he doing, if he's spying or has any trick upon his sleeve. Kenny apologizes to him for calling him Fauxhawk and tells him that he came to talk to Robby but he found Robby training Anthony LaRusso, who was his bully.
Hawk tells him that Kenny was acting like a bully the last few months, Kenny replies to him that he got corrupted by Cobra Kai, which leads to Hawk showing empathy, telling Kenny that he was also in CK, that he trashed the dojo and that he stole Mr. Miyagi’s medal of honour and tells Kenny a lesson about forgiveness, about how you must forgive your own enemies and they will show forgiveness to you. Hawk tells Kenny that he should talk with Robby Keene as he’s always cared about him and he’s worried about Kenny’s future.
Kenny talks with Robby in an emotive talk, thanking him for being his teacher and apologizing to him for failing him and Kenny joins Miyagi-fang, but Silver reminds him of the deal they made and Kenny feels forced to steal the medal of honor in a night training session with Robby. Kenny uses his stealth and in a moment Robby goes to drink or to the bathroom and he steals the medal.
The next day, everyone realizes Mr. Miyagi’s medal is missing and Sam, who thinks that Hawk was arguing with his father because he’s reverting to his defiant CK ways, publically accuses Hawk of stealing the medal of honour, and this causes a massive uproar. Miguel tries to descalate the conflict between his best friend Hawk and his girlfriend Sam but his efforts are useless and fails. Miguel is in a hard spot in the crossfire between them.
Hawk doesn’t feel trusted nor wanted at Miyagi-do, so he gets angry and quits, which is the moment Tory uses to tell him to give Kreese a second chance as Kreese’s a changed man and convince Hawk to join Cobra Kai. Kenny feels absolute regret and he’s completely remorseful after realizing what his actions have caused, so he thinks about confessing his secret to Robby and asking him for help, here there are two options, whether Kenny tells Robby in exchange for Robby keeping his secret and helping him (which it’s the one I prefer) or Kenny doesn’t say anything to Robby.
Demetri trust in Hawk’s innocence, but he feels desolated when Hawk’s defect and tries to get Hawk back into Miyagi-fang. Hawk tries to assure him that everything is alright, that “despite everything, you will always be my Binary Brother” and that being in opposite dojos doesn’t mean their friendship had to end but that he’s not going back to Miyagi-fang. Demetri is still not convinced, and he’s scared of Hawk getting manipulated by Kreese and could be reverting to his bully ways and end up breaking his arm again. Demetri also feels that he failed Hawk by not clearing his name and by letting him slide into CK again. Demetri also realizes that Sam is becoming way too overzealous.
Miguel is extremely disappointed at Hawk, says to him that Kreese has got into his head again. Hawk tries to defend his innocence and says that Kreese’s not in his mind nor he stole the medal of honour but Miguel trusts Sam’s words as he’s blinded by love and under Sam’s influence. Hawk also recriminates Miguel to be bonding with Robby more that with him and replacing him with Robby as his new best friend, so Miguel thinks Hawk is jealous and in the end Miguel leaves to avoid any conflict, stating Hawk is no longer his friend.
Hawk wants to ensure to Demetri and Miguel everything is alright and tries to persuade Kreese to make peace with Miyagi-fangs stating that they must first deal with Silver CK and that “the enemy of my enemy is your friend”. Kreese only agrees because he’s in inferiority (only has Tory and Hawk) and he sees the "peace as nothing more than a lull between battles" that could allow him to reinforce his position and gain time. They go to Miyagi-dojo to make the offer, but it gets rejected because Daniel doesn’t trust Kreese and Sam says it’s all a trick so they lower their guards. Demetri sees this as another abandonment of Miyagi principles and is worried on the negative effects this rejection and the continuation of hostilities may have on Hawk.
Hawk wants to talk in private with Demetri to ask him why are they rejecting the peace offer, and convinces Tory to stay a little bit longer, but he gets gang- surrounded by Sam and the Miyagi-fangs including Robby. Hawk point to Demetri that this is gang-assault and that if he’s gonna help him defend or side with his attackers, and Sam will say that if Hawk wants to escape unwounded he only have to give back Mr. Miyagi’s medal of honour, that’s very important for her, and that she will let him go. Hawk replies he doesn’t have the “fxcking medal, princess” but Sam doesn’t believe him as Hawk and Toryin Kreese’s CK, so Sam is going to attack him. Tory tries to intervene and gets ready to fight against Sam, but...
Demetri tries to stop Sam by talking and asking her if this isn’t too extreme, but Sam’s replies something like “Radical situations need severe punishments” and tries to attack. Robby thinks (or knows) that Hawk didn’t do it as he was training that day and knows Hawk isn’t stealthy enough due to his previous experience, and wants to stop any fight from happening because he still has feelings for Tory and Tory might get wounded, so Robby has four options: Robby could say that Hawk wasn’t stealthy enough and that he was training alone to protect Kenny and keep his secret, but it would put him as the main suspicious target, as Robby has no alibi and her girlfriend Tory is in Kreese’s CK; Robby could say that Hawk wasn’t stealthy enough and that he was training with Kenny, putting a massive target on Kenny and Kenny could feel betrayed and maybe falling even more under Silver influence; Robby could say that he’s sure that Kenny did it as he confessed, which would guarantee Kenny feeling betrayed, getting expelled out of Miyagi-fang and completely falling into Silver influence or Robby could remain in silence.
If Robby decides to say nothing, Demetri would face three options: siding with the Miyagi-fangs and attacking his Binary Brother therefore betraying Hawk trust and fully throwing him under Kreese’s influence, defending his Binary Brother and betraying Miyagi-fang, therefore getting expelled of Miyagi-fang, or pretending “Not be there” therefore doing nothing. But there’s a more important Miyagi-do principle above “Not be there”, which it’s Miyagi-do Rule number 1 “Karate is for defense only”, and because pretending “Not be there” is apathy and “Apathy is death” (let’s see who catches the reference of the original conundrum a long, long time ago in a faraway story).
Miguel isn’t at the scene at first, but he could appear in any moment if the conflict drags and could try to mediate between Sam and Hawk, but he didn’t believe in Hawk but Sam, what could he do to solve the conflict? Miguel faces two options which are like Demetri’s: siding with the Miyagi-fangs and attacking his ex-best friend therefore betraying Hawk trust and increasing Kreese’s influence or defending Hawk and betraying Sam and the Miyagi-fangs, therefore getting a massive conflict with Sam and risking ending their love relationship.
After that, I’ll leave it with a “to be continued” because I’ve left a lot of possible routs and doors open, but whatever it happens, the mid-season should be focused in the conflict between Kreese’s CK and Silver’s CK in the CK civil war they’re having. Kim-da-eung could be conflicted and maybe she’ll play both sides, supporting both and will only choose siding openly with whoever ends up being the winning side. This should happen in the mid-season breaking-point to see who will triumph, absorb the other CK and represent CK in the Sekai Taikai. My personal preference is Silver, he has more resources than Kreese and the Sekai Taikai was his idea and his project, but I want to know your opinion.
The way I see it, a full unhinged "cocaine" Silver traps a vengeful Kreese by luring him into a meeting at Coyote Creek in a picnic like area, makes his CK (Shawn and Kenny) climb the trees and remain hidden and once Kreese’s CK arrived they throw Molotovs at them. Kreese, Tory and Hawk find cover under a stone bench, Silver makes them a phone call them asking them to voluntarily betray Kreese if they don’t want to end being burned alive and shouts with a maniac and sinister laugh “Do you remember the napalm days? Back to ‘Nam, Kreese, back to ‘Nam oh I liked that John, I liked that”. Kreese’s Vietnam PTSD is triggered massively, and he has a breakdown while he and his students are at risk. Tory is able to snap him back to reality and Kreese advises them to fully cover in mud to avoid major burns and thinks in giving up and surrender himself in order to save Tory (and Hawk, but mostly Tory), I leave the ending of the mid-season open here, use your imagination.
Something you may have noticed is that none of the CK kids are evil, Hawk is a dovish peacemaker who wants to keep his friendship with Demetri and Miguel, Tory joins CK due to loyalty to Kreese, not due to revenge or any evil intention and Kenny is forced to join in order to get his brother out of juvie. This is done on purpose so they can fully redeem in the second part of the season and leaving the door open to the teens to be able to redeem Cobra Kai, specially Tory after Kreese's sacrifice to save her. I've decided Kreese to sacrifice to save Tory and not Johnny because Kreese had a toxic relation with Johnny in which despite loving him, he choked him twice, and Johnny wants to close CK in S5 "Cobra Kai is the problem" but Kreese has never been violent or dangerous towards Tory on purpose, so I think any Kreese's redemption/sacrifice should focus on Tory.
See, that is how you write a compelling story for at least half of season 6 at without not focusing on the Sekai Taikai, because the ST shouldn’t be the main drive of the plot of S6 at least until the very end. If this season is going to have 15-16 episodes, as some people speculate, the Sekai Taikai shouldn’t become the main narrative focus at least until episode 10.

So this just happened this morning.
There was a protest on my street that I went to opposing the building of some high rise condos that would be a really bad thing for the community in terms of traffic density and so on.
There's lots of people there and this guy walks up to me, whom I've never met, and asks what the protest is about.
English wasn't his first language, and so I was being polite, making sure he understood what was going on and answered a few questions for him. I thought that was it and turned back to the protest to hear one of the city councillors speak.
He stood next to me and kept talking to me, indicating he lived in one of the buildings nearby and hoped the proposed condos wouldn't be built. I said yeah me too and went back to listening to the speaker. I gave this guy all the body language that I was not interested in talking more.
I really thought that was it. And after this many years on the planet, I should know better. Next thing I know, he's touching my arm, asking me personal questions and asking me where I live and do I like to party. I mean what? Party?
Right then, the speaker finished speaking and everyone clapped and essentially the protest was going to wrap up, my queue to leave.
I didn't even make eye contact with this guy and started to walk away. I got a few hundred yards and then he's asking me for my name and what I do for a living and did I want to hang out and so on... I said no thanks but he kept following me.
I ended up crossing the street and jumping on a bus (even though I was across from my own building but didn't want him to know where I lived) and went a few stops and then walked back.
Dude, I was polite to you, it was NOT in any way an invitation to touch me, invade my personal space, AND follow me. And he lives near me, chances are I'll run into him again.
This was just a vent because not a day goes by without SOMETHING from someone who thinks they are entitled to my info, to touch me, to follow me, to come onto me, to ask for my number... or worse.
This is why I prefer my own company, and I stay home.

Hi, i'm recently out of a relationship and really having no luck meeting anyone in my area. I'm 5'10, have a beard and a bit of a stomach but not too over-weight, blue eyes, brown hair and I'm really just wanting someone to come home to. I'm very touch-oriented, I like to sit together, cuddle, and give back rubs the whole nine yards. I'm not overly religious and i'm smack dab in the middle of the bible belt. i'm also politically centrist with left-leanings in a very VERY right-wing part of America. I live in a one-room loft that would be big enough for two people as long as they were willing to be intimate, I'd be willing to support my significant other. I'm here because i'm spending time with my father, who has cancer and not long left, so i'm not really willing to move away yet. I just don't want to be alone anymore.

The AI apparently now blocks the comment before it's made. Earlier, I had seen it recommend me not to say such things, but now it outright won't let me write them.
Of course, I agree, "it's their platform." But my concern is that if they are willing to pre-censor almost all comments like this why wouldn't they start faking the results of like/dislike to what they want?
And of course, it doesn't even have to end there. It can get far worse, with the demand for digital ID to authenticate "real humans."
We've had a huge mess on our hands, it's not going to get better soon. This is not new, but I was reminded of how bad it's going to get and how fast it's potentially going to go there.
