We just had them here, they picked 29 pounds of loquat from one of our trees! This is not something our small family could have ever eaten.

This listing is near my house. I was curious, so I looked up the images. Nothing too bad. Until I saw the extra staircase they added. How is this even legal? I feel like I should call up the city zoning department before someone gets killed. The house just sold, with this staircase. So I wonder if the new owners are going to remove it.

TLDR Version.
On the same exact trip the Rivian arrived home with 44% SoC and 127 miles remaining on its GoM.
Lighting SR would have arrived at 44% and 100 remaining on the GoM (conservative estimate) if not for a +13% DCFC test 20 miles from home.
Conditions were the same wind wise, the Rivian trip was much cooler in Borrego at ~75F vs todays trip ~95F in the lightning. Traffic was the same and driving speeds were the same.
Long version-
Left home at 99% SoC - GoM and Trip 1 Reset, showing 230 mile range.
AC on Auto at 72F + Drivers Seat on Cool-3
Crested Palomar Mountain at 70% SoC and 2.1 mi/kWh and started the 4,000ft decent
Arrived in Borrego Springs at 76% SoC and 2.3 mi/kWh
Temperature in Borrego was 92F-98F
Used remote start and cooled the cabin for 10 min after lunch. Then drove the kiddos to the sculpture park and through the state park.
Departed Borrego Springs at 71% SoC and 2.3 mi/kWh
Crested Palomar Mountain at 57% SoC and 2.1 mi/kWh after climbing 4,000 ft
Stopped in Valley Center for a kids bathroom break. They had a DCFC so decided to test fast charging since the truck is new. Charged from 50%-63% and averaged 107kW on a 120kW charger.
Arrived home with 2.7 mi/kWh average over the total 153 miles and 57% SoC. So I would have arrived with ~44% SoC without the quick +13% DCFC test. I estimate I also would have had ~100-104 miles remaining on the GoM
AC was running on Auto at 72F and driver seat on Cool-3 for the whole trip.
Drove like normal with traffic, did not granny it. Speeds range from 30MPH-60MPH on twisty back roads. BIG elevation changes over shot distances.
Without the quick fast charge stop I was on track to hit 235 miles to empty.
SUPER impressed with the range and efficiency.
I drove my now sold R1T on the same trip last year. The Rivian arrived home with 44% SoC and 127 miles remaining on its GoM.
I sold the Rivian because of too too many headaches dealing with Rivian support. Amongst several things they couldn’t get the wheel alignment right after 5 attempts and kept telling me it was “road crown”. Each alignment would improve then get worse over time. Total BS, I’ve never had road crown issues in my 10 other cars I’ve owned and driven on the exact same roads over the years…Lightning tracks dead-straight right off the lot…anyways, I digress. Rivian is an amazing machine and I hope they succeed, but unfortunately I ended up with a lemon. It happens.
Seems like the Ford may be a little more efficient with its power. Perhaps the Rivian has improved with software updates. I hope the Ford will unlock a little more range or improve efficiency, but I suspect Rivian will have Ford beat in the software improvements department.
