2023.06.05 11:20 Various-Tough5637 A Way Forward (MSF Ideas)

I’ll start with saying I love this game.
I took a year and a half away from the game out of frustration with Scopley but couldn’t stay away permanently because at the end of the day the game is amazing…and after being back for about 3 months there needs to be some major changes for the long term health of the game because while the game is amazing...but the team that runs it seems to have the combined IQ of a rock. So instead of just complaining I wanted to present some ideas to help.
First and foremost are changes needed by Scopley….as the organization running MSF.
  1. Get QA - this is the change that will make the most impact. Think of all the drama that’s been plaguing the game lately. 90% + has been caused by lack of game quality. This s*** is difficult to develop and implement no doubt…but HOLY HELL please help yourself and test this s*** properly.
  2. Don’t dismiss player feedback because you don’t like it and don’t ignore / go quiet. We get you won’t fix every issue (even if you cause it). Just own it and move forward….hint hint just tell use we aren’t getting the lvl 5 ISO from your f*** up and let it be done. At least there will be clarity and closure. Even if it’s the wrong thing to do.
  3. For the love of God don’t run off your content creators…so fix that. They are a tool for both the community and studio. So instead of making them quit…utilize them and utilize them properly. They can be a source of marketing, QA, and even dev help (looking at Tauna…oh wait you ran him off) all in one.
Second…ideas for changes to MSF
  1. Stop the hoarding events…or at least remove the hoarding benefits of these events. For example this Ruff Riffs event. Just remove the gold orb portion of the event and scale the milestones accordingly. The company can still provide offers that provide additional points in the web store but at its core the event should be about what points can be earned in that time period (intergalactic orbs or whatever).
1B. Event ideas (just ideas so Reddit..just relax):
Dark Dimension Destroyers: Win fights in Dark Dimension to gain points towards the milestone event. Each fight in the varying dark dimensions have a point value assigned. This will encourage players to build their rosters (spend money) to move through content to gain more points. Access to all levels of commanders. Supply restock (daily): Purchase items in the supply store to gain milestone points. If you really want commanders to buy gold…then try this. You can give bonus points for cores spent to refresh and this would be great as way to get players to buy GT 18 items. This also leads into the next piece of game change..
  2. Scaling the Gold economy correctly…we get it. You aren’t here to make a player friendly game. You’ve made that clear and that money is your first and ONLY priority. Well…news flash…if players can’t level up their characters…or buy supply store gear…they won’t buy the characters. I’m sure there is a group that just purchased a game studio recently that might be upset if numbers start to decline and they look like idiots for there new billion dollar investment because the operating team couldn’t figure out a simple solution to a major issue. So do some simple math on percentage of gold needed for gear and character level up since the gold orb was updated. Take that percentage change and apply it to a gold orb II. That way hoarders don’t have an advantage, scopely can sell new orbs, and more gold can be obtained by players.
Just a few thoughts of my thoughts…I’m sure I missed some but hopefully this isn’t too pointless or crap.

If your agency is making between $10-30k per month, you’re sitting on an absolute goldmine and you have no idea.
After running my agency for 4 years, delivering over $100M worth of value to my clients, and generating 8 figures in total revenue, I’ve realized that any agency can be a massive business with the right mechanisms in place.
When I began building my agency in 2018, it was a good business for me and my partner.
It put food on the table, and we were able to help to grow other businesses that we were passionate about.
We didn’t realize at the time that the only thing keeping us at the mid-6-figure per year mark was our own mental blockages.
Just about any agency can be an 8-figure a year endeavor, especially if you do it the way that we’ve done it.
Most agency owners in the $10-30k per month range operate within a freelancer mindset.
You struggle with hiring, you struggle with building processes, and you struggle with scaling.
You do not have a demand problem.
For every agency, there are at least 500 potential clients with a problem that your agency can solve, and they’re willing to pay good money for you to do so.
With the right offer, 100-200 clients will be enough for you to have an 8-figure a year company that will sell for a multiple that could be in the range of 6-12X.
This course consists of 10 modules with text and video, plus 3 bonus modules that outline everything you need to know about:
  • Building systems for scaling fast
  • How to diversify your lead generation to never have an empty pipeline again
  • Assembling a team of people who care about your company’s vision as much as you
  • Remaining profitable as you scale
  • Avoiding mistakes at the intermediate and advanced levels with your business
  • The steps you need to take to sell your agency for 8+ figures
As long as you have an offer that’s proven to work in an industry that’s likely to continue to exist in 10 years, you have a multi-million dollar opportunity at your fingertips.
At the $10-30k a month level with an agency, you’re currently working harder than you will be at $100k a month.
The good news is, you’re only a few months away from hitting that target profitably if you do exactly what I outline in this course.
After thousands of mistakes in the building process, I know exactly what I’d do if I had to start from zero.
If you’re just starting, you have the opportunity to build everything right and avoid 90% of the mistakes that we made in the early days.
Instead of taking 4 years to scale to ~8 figures like my team and I did, you could potentially do it in half the time.
Before you buy, you need to understand this.
This course will work for any agency in the digital space, but it is not for beginners.
This is not to show you how to land your first client and find your niche.
This will only work if you have at least 2-4 clients and you already understand your offer.
My strategies for client acquisition, client retention, offer structure, team building, and systems will only work if you already have the foundations in place.
If you’re above $60k a year but below $1M a year, this will work for you.
Inside, I also share information about my agency that I’ve never shared before.
I do a deep dive into everything that’s allowed us to scale from high-6-figures in 2019 to high-7-figures in 2021.
Everything from the way you need to think about things, to the way you need to execute things.
I leave nothing out of this.
If you’re ready to scale your agency from $10-30k a month up to 6 figures a month, click below to get access to everything you’ll ever need today.

2023.06.05 11:09 YOtomyself How do TransCurators Help Content Writing Beginners?

TransCurators has been experimenting in numerous fields in order to realize its full potential and aim of being the largest content cloud. We began with three individuals in a room, grew to a staff of 25 devoted authors, and now have a pool of 200+ experienced and specialized writers that are fluent in their fields and languages.
You should be proficient and perfect whenever you apply to any article writing agency or organization, right? The content writers we hire at TransCurators, however, are novices who are eager to work hard. Our team of Project Managers and Quality Analysts is committed to training each writer, preparing their analysis report, conducting weekly feedback calls, and ensuring their growth as we work to scale up along with them.

Why Choose TransCurators as Your Partners in Growth?

TransCurators is a content cloud that gives content writers access to a variety of niches, genres, and languages. It is not only a content writing agency. Among the causes are:

Specialization:

We provide content creators complete freedom to select their domain, specialty, and genre and curate content that reflects their interests or areas of expertise. This aids in their ability to conduct more effective research and comprehend client needs.

Personalized Training:

In our opinion, neither a writer nor a piece of material is ideal. Edits, revisions, and corrections can bring great material to a close, and they can also shape a content writer to produce high-quality content. To encourage our content writers, we offer regular follow-ups, weekly comments, and monthly best performers.

Diversification:

By giving novice content authors a wide range of possibilities, we make the process incredibly simple. TransCurators is not limited to any single market or sector since we recognize that, as providers of content writing services, we must serve a wide range of sectors. TransCurators offer top-notch material in a variety of niches, including:

Streamlined Payment Process

We adhere to a hassle-free approach of payments to all of our content writers in order to avoid hassle and maintain trust. Before you begin working, you are given a “Writer Contract” that outlines all of the requirements and the transparent process. In order to prevent fraud or loopholes, we follow a methodical cycle in which all payments are made and appropriate documentation and verification are carried out.

What Kind of Services Do We Provide?

A competent writer must be able to explore their interests and diversify. We offer a range of services for both our clients and writers to pick from:

Website copywriting services:

The craft of copywriting involves shaping your words and creating concise, clear information. Writing concise, straightforward, yet attention-grabbing information is a skill that content writers must master. One such area is copywriting, where we encourage you to let your creativity shine through in the form of words. Even writing for blogs, SEO, SEO copywriting, and website content are catered to by copywriting.

Article writing services:

An article is a piece of material that gives the authowriter the freedom to express their thoughts and opinions as well as key information about a given subject. A compelling takeaway, personal recommendations, an attention-grabbing headline free of grammar mistakes, and a steady flow are all essential components of a good post.

Services for guest posts:

Every business wants to be promoted, but it’s important to realize that this is different from advertising. An advertisement is something where a business advertises its goods and services, whereas a guest post service generates material to advertise the goods and services of other businesses. A web content writer is knowledgeable on how to drive traffic with SEO copywriting. A excellent guest post that is written as web content for the organization must drive traffic and aid in building brand awareness.

Services for Blog Writing:

For any blogger or business, it’s critical to maintain a connection with their audience; this is where blog writing comes in. Blogs enable businesses or website authors to communicate verbally online. As a content writing company, we comprehend how crucial it is to often publish blog posts to maintain your audience informed about changes and developments pertaining to their particular industries and services.

Translation and Localization Services

As English content dominates the market, we should also appreciate the value of our regional tongues and support brands in reaching a wider audience by curating material in these tongues and giving each piece of content a unique personal touch. Our team of writers and editors expertly and gracefully translates English content into more than 25 different languages as part of the translation services we offer.

Summary

It is crucial for all businesses, websites, and people to learn the art of content curation in the digital sphere, where the internet is the new hot sector and trend. This is because it directly reflects their brand, services, convictions, and long-term goals.
We must realise that, as AI’s strength increases, it has the potential to be a clever and practical tool that will reduce the time and effort required of every content writer. Although technology can be used to curate content, a writer’s original research, knowledge of the world, and creativity are still incomparable.
By developing captivating narratives with TransCurators, you can unleash the power of branding and use it to inspire success and spark connections. Book your services right away to join India’s burgeoning content cloud enterprise.

2023.06.05 11:04 Yooustinkah UX design future for contractors (UK)

Hi everyone,
I’m a UX content designer who made the move from employee to contractor last year.
While the market is generally quiet at the moment, and there are still a few contracting opportunities, in your experience, do you think companies and gov departments will start to favour hiring permanent UX employees rather than hire contractors? And if so, what sort of time scale do you suspect?
My plan was to save like crazy as a contractor for the next couple of years for a house deposit, then reduce the hours slightly to help get a side hustle off the ground. I worry going back to perm would make this take a lot longer…

2023.06.05 11:04 Dr_Apperpixion If You See It, It Is Too Late

I never met my birth parents. They both died on a job when I was a baby, and I went into foster care. I didn’t have any interest in knowing anything about them; my adoptive parents are the ones who raised me.
However, everything changed a week ago when a group of men came knocking at my door. They wore what looked like military uniforms, but instead of the usual green, they wore a distinct red color instead. They loaded me, along with my foster parents into an unmarked matching red van. We were rushed to a farmhouse on the opposite side of Washington where the facility was heavily guarded with intimidating men and unfamiliar machines that appeared like they required several men to operate.
Being an IT major, I had no knowledge nor interest in these things. I’m not a runner, fighter or a strategist, so I couldn’t fathom what they wanted from me.
They relentlessly interrogated me for three days, bombarding me with questions and then, when they concluded that I was blissfully unaware, intimidated me with frightening information. Dumbfounded, I soaked in every ounce of knowledge they offered me. The new knowledge I gained made me see my parents in a new terrifying light. I couldn’t help but feel more resentment, adding on to the existing resentment I harboured. My parents not only betrayed themselves, but me as well and part of me feared that I would never be safe again. I couldn’t help but feel manipulated. They were long gone, but their past still controlled my fate.
I was eventually uprooted to a secondary protective facility, one in which I was not permitted to know the location of. For my own safety, they assured me. Once settled, they supplied me with new electronics and destroyed my old ones. They warned me that I was to stay under the radar, completely untraceable. Again, for my own protection. I was confident that given my knowledge of IT, software engineering and cyber security, I would remain unseen and untraceable to anyone who might be hunting me.
Now that I am sure I am safe, I can finally write this message and warn anyone connected to the initial bloodlines involved. It is crucial for my message to reach you.
The story begins with my biological grandfather. He worked for a branch of the government closely related to NASA. Following the moon landing there was a great deal of classified developments that the population was oblivious to. The department my grandfather worked for protecting the world against extra-terrestrial threats or extra-terrestrial terrorism as they described it.
Paranoia gripped them after the moon landing and they took drastic measures to prepare. Five years later, they deciphered the first communications and signals from frequencies previously unknown to them. These signals were so powerful that they destroyed entire systems, disrupted the power grid and took down entire radio stations. This special branch of government discovered they could tap into these signals which revealed that our galaxy has been under constant surveillance. This was ironically discovered by extra-terrestrials working within this branch, tasked to monitor and prevent extra-terrestrial terrorism on a much larger scale.
At this point in their story, the soldiers were reluctant to divulge more. Insisting that they already revealed too much. But I demanded full transparency, refusing to cooperate with their equivocation. It was essential that I know my involvement in these matters. So, they continued, placing a huge box in front of me, overflowing with papers. They swiftly unveiled its contents to me, Stacks of documents and old tapes they tossed onto the table, one after the another.
The documents contained, amongst others, details of weapons the organisation, known as ESA were crafting and testing along with formulas to create immensely powerful weapons. They used advanced calculations to try and manufacture better equipment that could be sent up to space. They were doing this undisclosed, to monitor and learn as much as they could.
The ESA spent millions designing and building a spacecraft to contain their equipment, if the situation ever called for it. It is still a work in progress. All of this is actively happening, the documents and footage stamped up until a week ago.
I opened a document with a list of classified individuals who had this information. Presidents, EU members, a handful of the rich and powerful, who used this information to design and construct underground bunkers, granting that, if anything were to ever happen, they’d be prepared. These aren’t a new concept though, the extremely rich and powerful have been known to publicly sponsor new technological advancements. Well some may think this gave them the upper hand, it eventually proved their foolishness.
The following is what I saw in the most crucial videos:
Video 1: dated 1975 The video opens in an empty cell, appearing to be a reinforced holding chamber. At first, the room is dark, then the spotlights switch on, illuminating the centre of the room. Now in the light, I could clearly make out what looked like a reinforced metal wall with chains protruding from it. The focus shifts to the back of the room where a large door opens and something is dragged in a sheet, concealing its identity, and tied down with thick chains. The video ends.
Video 2: June 1975 I saw about 20 armed men entered the room and start to unwrap the sheet from what they hauled in. After several minutes of unwrapping, the identity of the thing they brought in is revealed.
There seemed to be a glitch in the recording, at different points in the video the screen was covered in static. The sound was muted, and the figure was hard to make out. It appeared that the creature was attempting to change shape, vibrating as if to phase into a different shape. Despite its best attempts, it remained unsuccessful and reverted back to its original form. .
Video 3: the very next day wnd June 1975
The video opens with the creature fully in focus. Within the 18 hours of footage, the creature is constantly seen attempting to change form. It fails every time, but that doesn’t prevent it from trying again. It looks like a blur, occasionally a second head or what appears to be a human hand. It’s apparent the creature has shapeshifting abilities.
The next 200 videos are identical. To the naked eye, it seemed like a loop. But it wasn’t. The creature was, however, relentless in its attempt to free itself or escape.
Video 204: October 1975
This time the alien appeared to be asleep, head limp and no movement. This video had sound, but it was accompanied by a high pitch buzz that made my ears hurt. At the six-hour mark, the faint cry of a baby can be heard before gradually escalating into full-blown screaming.
At first I suspected that one of the scientists had brought their child along, but the agents assured me the crying was coming from the creature. As the video progresses, the cries grow louder and more demanding, eventually accompanied by a deep voice. Close to the end of the video, 22 hours in, multiple voices begin to scream simultaneously, causing everything to shake.
The documents show that, after this incident, the cage was reinforced. The next few videos are static, proving that the creature has the uncanny ability to manipulate video and disrupt frequencies.
Video 340 February 1982
The creature, with its brown discoloration, possessed crocodile like scales and an eagle like head, but it was entirely reptilian in nature. It stood at a whopping 12 feet tall and was covered in an unknown slime like substance.
The chains were substantially thicker than they were years earlier, and the cage has been fortified. It looked like a different room altogether.
The agents explained that the creature got loose and attacked 12 soldiers, absorbing them into itself instead of merely killing or eating them.
The creature was taken to Nevada, close to the desert, where a strong armoured underground structure had been constructed, far from civilization. The facility has been equipped with high level security precautions which allowed sections of the building to be sealed off and rigged to explode, guaranteeing that, if necessary, the building would collapse in on itself, trapping the creature within its cage, underneath the rubble.
The creature mirrored the image I conjured up in my head when I pictured the devil; brown, scaly, a demonic voice. The eyes were its most terrifying feature, shaped like that of a reptilian, but blood red. I counted 4 horns on its head, and it bore a pair of nasty fangs. Its feet bore the resemblance of a dinosaur, but it lacked a tale. Once the creature was no longer phasing in and out, it settled on a more consistent appearance, one that was easier to recognize.
Video 341 February 1982
This video marked the first appearance of my grandfather. He entered, along with four other men in lab coats, carrying a large syringe, approximately the size of my arm. He stuck it into the beast’s heart, causing it to instantly fall into a deep sleep. He proceeded to connect various machines onto the slumbering creature, attaching electrodes to its head and chest which were linked to a sizeable computer or something that resembled a computer. The video cuts off after this, leaving us to guess what occurred next.
Video 343 February 1982 The lights in the room were far brighter than before, and it once again lacked the presence of sound. The reason for this remained unknown.
Within the room stood a table filled with an assortment of equipment that appeared to be severely damaged. The lights flickered at intervals, and the creature began to phase in and out once more. This made it difficult to distinguish its appearance amid the static moments and blurred movements. The scientists observed the creature a safe distance away.
The scientists were relying on a certain frequency they discovered to keep the creature at bay. It seemed to produce positive results for the next few videos.
The videos that followed held a similar pattern. The creature remained silent, wired to machines while people came in and out taking notes or the occasional blood or slime sample. The creature remained composed, not once attempting to shift or escape again.
According to the agents’ records, everything proceeded as planned. My grandfather welcomed his first son, my father in 1975, he subsequently resumed his project until his resignation in 2008 when he was 55. A year later, he had a fatal heart attack, my grandmother following soot. My father was 34.
My father and his younger brother began working for ESA in 2004, when they were 28 and 24. New technological advancements introduced better cameras and electronic equipment for testing purposes. Since the technology became so advanced, their visits to the cage became as infrequent as once a week, or even less often. With new needles, enhanced equipment and upgraded data collection, the project transferred to electronic records ushering changes in the filing system.
While we waited for my transportation, they shared more classified documents. According to the notes, the once wild and violent creature was now unrecognisably tame and responsive, even answering questions. It remained unclear whether they had intentionally provoked it or stumbled upon a means to subdue it.
The circumstances surrounding my birth were strange. My dad impregnated a college classmate, and they made the mutual decision to put me up for adoption since neither of them had the desire to raise a child. My mother was studying biology and my father, a young genius physicist that found it hard to understand basic human interaction as it was. According to my foster parents, I was born in 2000, but the data I was presented proved I was born two years prior. This revelation had a more profound effect on me than anything else I’d seen.
Regardless, I was immediately given up for adoption and my existence was all but forgotten about. My adoptive parents moved to Iowa, and that’s where I lived up until 2018 when I left for Harvard. I always wondered what my birth parents were like. My adoptive parents told me I was a genius and speculated that I inherited my brain from somewhere. It’s an uncanny feeling; the knowledge that every aspect of my life was monitored.
The videos documenting the creature continued for the next 6 years. It became routine, apart from the indistinct chatter from the observing scientists and other government employees. There were no other sounds, incidents or noteworthy occurrences.
The tests revealed that the creature’s biology was predominantly alien, with no genetic material in common with humans. The scientists highlighted the alarming fact that the creature’s DNA was ever changing, resulting in frequent sample collection and analysis.
They concluded that, the creature was still a baby at the time of capture, which made it easier to contain. They did, however, underestimate its shocking growth rate which resulted in the deaths of the 12 soldiers’ years prior. At the time, it was still in its adolescent phase. Further research uncovered that the creature had the unique ability to absorb the genetic material of the men it came into contact with. The more humans it absorbed, the more diverse its gene pool became. A portion of the genes obtained gradually became more similar to those observed in humans. It’s as if the creature dove into an immense pool of genes and, as it absorbed more humans, its genetic makeup gradually began to adopt more human like qualities. Although difficult to comprehend at first, the basic explanation is that with every absorption of genetic information, the creature’s genetic composition seemed to evolve, storing human qualities within its own gene and gradually becoming more human-like That is my understanding of it.
Which brings me to the final video they have. Prepare yourselves.
Video: mov5078436b The creature behaved normally before viewing was disrupted by static. Among the sudden legion of voices, it echoed my father’s name, simultaneously expanding in size which causes the surroundings to convulse. Alarms resounded, piercing the silence as the creature tugged at its chains, cracking the floor ceiling in its attempt to break free. An ear splitting roar escaped its mouth as hordes of armoured soldiers rushed the cage, massive tasers in hand. They zapped the creature at maximum voltage as it continued to roar, lights flickering excessively. The camera feed is interrupted again by bouts of static.
A second group arrived, armed heavily with guns, increasing the crowd to a total of 30. The gunfire was so severe that it affected the video’s audio. One of the chains bound to the roof of the cage had already broken loose by the time the third group of soldiers arrived. This group carried a machine emitting bursts of fire, which had no effect on the creature aside from antagonizing it. It releases a powerful blast from its hand, causing the room to tremble which shattered the bulletproof glass into millions of pieces and sent the men flying across the room. Both of the creature’s hands were now free, and it began to morph.
Finally, a third group arrived in heavily armoured suits, unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. They wielded lasers and what appeared to be a concentrated lightning gun. I was grateful they hadn’t made use of nuclear weapons which would have wiped everyone out. After every attempt, the creature remained standing. Now it was his turn.
The creature freed itself from the remaining shackles and unleashed a blast with both its hands. All that was left of the solders was a gruesome mess of blood where they stood. The air filled with a haunting scream that echoed throughout the halls. The creature released a menacing growl in the form of words that sent chills down my spine, “Dennis McCarthy”, my father’s name.
Right before the camera blacked out, I could have sworn he was in the brink of morphing into a human form, but the recording was cut short by the thunderous detonation of explosions that sent the building into destruction, burying the truth within its rubble.
The scientists, including my dad, were taken by the ESA (extra-terrestrial security agency) and hidden in a heavily guarded underground haven. They were issued new identities and relocated, which isn’t a new concept for the government.
As far as the drones’ visual feed could capture, the entire operation was terminated, leaving behind the collapsed and buried ruins of a facility that was once fully functional. It was under strict surveillance for any signs of life, but as the years rolled by, complacency set in, compromising their once strict security measures.
My father, uncle and the rest of the scientists assumed new lives and identities. As far as the rest of the world was concerned, they were dead.
In 2010, an unexpected interruption occurred. Reports indicated that the drones simultaneously malfunctioned, and the video feed erupted into static. A team arrived at the site to find it disrupted, all the drones lay in scattered heaps across the landscape.
Before anyone could investigate or react, all communication with the agents safeguarding the scientists was abruptly terminated. One be one, the connections were severed, leaving them permanently unreachable. When they reached my father’s safe house, they were greeted with his spine-chilling absence. He had vanished without so much as a trace that he had ever been there to begin with—no signs of struggle or any shred of evidence left behind. He was lost in an infinite void of mystery. The only indication that something was amiss was the eerie blue glow invading the monitors moments before blackout. The only accurate word for it would be ‘suction’, leading the team to believe that they had been absorbed. It remained a speculation, though plausible enough to send waves of panic up their spines.
As we speak governments around the world have been swept up into the desperate search to locate the alien as well as training an elite group of drone pilots and soldiers in an attempt to confront and defeat the elusive entity. Furthermore, every effort at locating surviving relatives of the missing scientists, including my father, had fallen short. They too had vanished into an infinite cloud of mystery, not one left unscathed to provide answers.
Considering the site’s altered state, the complete destruction of the drones and the fact that the creature they had held captive was constantly evolving, they were profoundly aware of the unravelling truth.
I am the sole living descendent of the scientists that worked for ESA. The creature has made it his mission to eliminate any and all traces of their existence. This is the sole reason I was upended from my life and relocated to a heavily guarded facility, and this is the reason I feel compelled to share their stories.
I couldn’t comprehend why the creature would hunt me since I didn’t share the sins of my father, but I felt paranoid and vigilant regardless. I couldn’t help but feel compelled to look into the disappearances myself, perhaps due to some lingering hopes that the information was wrong. My pursuit for answers turned up nothing, not even social media accounts. It was as if any trace of their existence was utterly obliterated, there was no digital footprint left.
The reason I am now convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that my life is in danger is because I have started catching glimpses of subtle movements in my peripheral, a shadowy figure lurking around the premises, disruptions in the signal of my appliances, even the phone I am using right now.
Call me foolish for even relying on the very technology that might lead to my demise, but I felt compelled to warn anyone else who might be a descendent of the team that worked for ESA: project corrosion.
If you’re aware then heed my words and flee. If you are unaware, observe the news for any sudden or unexplained disappearances, and I regret to inform you but, if you come across the creature then it’s too late.
Stay safe my friends

B1540 - Corporation Tax (Non-Resident Companies) Bill - Second Reading

A
B I L L
T O
make provision for further anti-avoidance measures in relation to overseas companies making sales in the United Kingdom.
BE IT ENACTED by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Section 1: Definitions
(1) A “Non-resident UK Company” is a company which is not registered in the United Kingdom under the Companies Act 2006.
(2) An “Associated Group Company” is defined as any overseas company under common control of a non-resident UK company with at least 51% shared ownership or control.
(3) “Sales of UK origin” means either;
a. The customer is in the United Kingdom, or b. The customer is resident in the United Kingdom and the risks and rewards of the transaction arise in the United Kingdom, or c. The delivery of the good or the service is in the United Kingdom, or d. The sale is paid through equity raised through UK capital markets, specifically or largely for the purposes of the transaction, or e. The sale is paid through debt originating from the United Kingdom, specifically or largely for the purposes of the transaction
Section 2: Taxation of Non-resident UK companies
(1) A non-resident UK company and its associated Group companies shall fall under the scope of this Act if the entity has any Sales of UK origin.
(2) A non-resident company shall be liable to corporation tax on its worldwide profits net of any overseas corporation taxes paid, on the highest percentage of the terms in (a) and (b) multiplied by the applicable corporation tax rate.
a. The percentage of the companies’ worldwide sales which are sales of UK origin; b. The percentage of the companies’ worldwide profits which are arising from sales of UK origin (sales of UK origin, less allowable expenses arising in the United Kingdom)
(3) If a non-resident UK company is paying corporation tax under the terms of a “Permanent Establishment” under the Corporation Tax Act 2009, these amounts shall be fully deductible to the liability arising under clause 2).
Section 3: Commencement, Short Title and Extent
(1) This Act will come into force on the 6 April 2024
(2) This Act will extend to the entirety of the United Kingdom.
(3) This Act shall be cited as the Corporation Tax (Non-resident Companies) Act 2023
This Bill was submitted by His Grace Sir Rea-wakey KCT KT KD KCMG KBE MVO FRS, Duke of Dorset, Secretary of State for the Home Department, on behalf of His Majesty’s 33rd Government.
Opening Speech:
Deputy Speaker,
It has long been known that the United Kingdom is a haven for companies and individuals wishing to avoid paying their rightful share of tax. This is the first of 3 pieces of legislation that I wish to bring forward to the House in my role as Home Secretary and Treasury advisor.
This Bill’s aim is simple - to capture all revenue-generating transactions occurring in the United Kingdom as generating taxable total profits, therefore ensuring that all profits earned in the United Kingdom are taxed in the United Kingdom. This Bill broadens the scope of transactions which are taxable under the Corporation Tax Act to include those in which either the risks or rewards of the transaction occur in the United Kingdom, as well as transactions funded through the UK equity and debt markets.
This simple measure will make it harder for non-resident companies to claim that profits that are generated in the United Kingdom are only taxable in lower tax-rate affiliated companies overseas, thereby avoiding scope of Corporation Tax.
In combination with the other two pieces of anti-avoidance legislation I will be submitting to the House, these measures are collectively expected to raise £3.4 billion. This proposed revenue generation and these Bills were raised at Her Majesty’s Budget Committee and unopposed. My thanks go to my friend the Right Honourable Phonexia2 for their assistance in costing.
I urge the House to rally behind this Bill.
(M: These costings are calculated as 40% of the tax gap for “Evasion” and “Non-payment”, given the difficulty of calculating the actual revenue generated from these measures).
Lords can debate and submit amendments by the 7th of June at 10pm BST.

2023.06.05 11:03 Dr_Apperpixion If You See It, It Is Too Late

2023.06.05 10:58 LeoPantheraOfLagos How do you ensure compliance with various local labor laws for distributed teams?

Ensuring compliance with various local labor laws for distributed teams is a complex but crucial part of managing a remote workforce. Here are some strategies and steps you can take to ensure compliance:
  1. Understand Local Laws: The first and most fundamental step is to understand the labor laws in each location where your team members work. These laws can cover a range of issues, including minimum wage requirements, overtime pay, working hours, health and safety regulations, data protection rights, and more. In some cases, you may need to engage local legal counsel to help you understand and comply with these laws.
  2. Employment Contracts: Ensure that employment contracts or agreements comply with local laws. Each contract should be tailored to the location of the employee, addressing specific local requirements.
  3. Consistent Policies: Develop clear and consistent policies that reflect the need for compliance with local laws. This might include policies on work hours, leave, pay, data security, etc. Ensure these policies are easily accessible to all team members.
  4. Hiring Practices: Your hiring practices should also comply with local laws. This includes non-discrimination laws, verification of work eligibility, and privacy laws when collecting personal data from applicants.
  5. Benefits and Compensation: Understand and provide mandated benefits in each jurisdiction, which can include health insurance, social security, pensions, and more.
  6. Payroll and Tax Compliance: Ensure correct payroll practices, including timely payment, proper tax withholding, and provision of necessary documentation like pay slips and tax forms.
  7. Data Compliance: With remote teams, data is often transferred across borders. Be aware of data protection laws, such as GDPR in Europe, to ensure you're handling employee data properly.
  8. Compliance Training: Provide training for your employees, especially managers and HR staff, on compliance issues. This can help prevent violations and foster a culture of compliance.
  9. Regular Reviews: Regularly review your compliance policies and procedures to keep them up-to-date. Laws change, so regular check-ups with your legal counsel can help you stay compliant.
  10. Use of Technology: Use compliance management software to streamline and automate your compliance processes. These tools can help you track regulatory changes, manage risks, and ensure that compliance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Remember, the cost of non-compliance can be high, resulting in penalties, damage to your company's reputation, and loss of trust among your employees. Therefore, investing in effective compliance strategies is well worth it.
As each situation can be unique, it's always recommended to seek professional advice when managing international compliance issues.

2023.06.05 10:47 Fit_Expert7745 Wealth Management to an Execution Trader

Hi there, I currently work as a an junior advisor in a large wealth management company, looking at an internal move to an Execution Trader
The role involves no order entry into the wealth management systems, but involves placing trades into the market across all asset classes except FX. The transactions will mainly be vanilla, but as the size of clients in the WM department are very large a lot of them do Futures/Options and Derivatives trades.
When I interviewed for the position, the head of the team mentioned if I done this for a while, he would be more than happy to help me move into a full S&T role internally.
My long term goal is to get into the IB as in the UK WM does not seem to pay the same £ as the IB.
Would this be a good stepping stone to get closer to markets? Also, if a S&T job did not become available internally, I wonder what the prospects would be for moving to a trading job elsewhere…
Is this a good move long term?
FYI the Execution team currently sit in the IB

Role Of a Data Scientist In BFSI And How To Become One – 2023 Guide

Data Science

Data science is a unique combination of computer science, mathematics, and statistics. It has been in demand from the BFSI sector for years now as more and more businesses have realized the importance and value of data for their growth plans. While data scientists have begun to emerge in science parks, BIGDATA, and open innovation platforms, it's still a name many people aren't familiar with.

Who are Data Scientists?

Data scientists are people who deal with numbers in an everyday manner. They must process complex data into manageable pieces that normal human beings can understand. This is done by applying mathematics, statistics and computer programming skills. They may need to use different tools such as SQL databases, spreadsheets, and graphics.
However, there are different kinds of data scientists – investment bankers use data experts to crunch numbers on stocks and bonds; e-commerce companies may hire big data analysts to work with customer behavior; pharmaceutical companies may hire statisticians or quantitative analysts for their research projects; and marketing firms hire market researchers who study consumer behavior based on online sales patterns.

What does a data scientist do?

What are the daily tasks of a financial data scientist now that we have a general understanding of how data science in the finance industry developed (and why it is so crucial)? In fact, these are often very wide. Several versions exist based on the industry they work in. These are in the areas of:
  • Risk Management

2023.06.05 10:45 GoddessWriting The Hero & The Retiree [Retired Hero Listener] [Hero Speaker] [Former Sidekick]

Summary: Sometime ago your mentor and idol retired from the hero scene, citing that they were too old to continue on with their duties. Behind the scenes though, you and a select few were notified that your mentor had lost their reason to continue fighting. You, being closer than others, knew why; You refused to tell anyone about it, after all, maybe, just maybe you could convince your mentor to return to the thing that you knew made them happy.
Roles:
- Major:
> Scene: Apartment, home of retired mentor
[There’s a series of knocks on the door, some seconds later, the door opens]
H: (Cheery) Hey there! Shocked that it’s me again? (Pause for 3 beats) No? Well, I can’t blame ya. I’ve been in ya hair so often as of late, it would be odd for me to not show up today too; Well is there any chance that uhm I can come in? (Slightly desperate) Please?
[Multiple steps out of sync are heard, before the door creaks closed, then with a click, it is locked shut.]
H: (Relieved) Thanks for having me…okay, I may have lied; I mean, not really, maybe just a bit. However I really did come here for a social call, the extent of the whole truth is that I need a place to relax, my place is kinda packed with fans trying to see if they can get my autograph, or picture, or whatever. You know how it is with fans. I mean, I remember when I would visit your old place and you couldn’t even walk on the sidewalk, all those people trying to get a glimpse of you, it still boggles my mind. But, I know how you feel when I start talking about those days, so I won’t. (Pause for 3 beats, pensively) While we’re on the topic of the old days, there is something else I want to bring up with you…
[The hero’s sentence was cut short as a teacup and its accompanying saucer is gently placed on the wooden table]
H: Oh! Is the tea already ready? (Pause for 2 beats) What am I saying, if you were waiting for me, of course the tea is going to be ready to serve. So, thank you, for the tea, and everything else; (Pause for 2 beats, pensively) Also, if my visits get to be too much, please do let me know. Last thing I want to do is take too many of your spoons away. (Pause for 3 beats) I know, I know that you were my mentor; That doesn’t take away from the fact that you’re still human and sometimes that means that you need your own space to recover and have some, you time; I get it, I have those days too. (Pause for 3 beats) Anyways, before I continue to ramble on, I just appreciate everything you’ve done for me; As both a mentor and a friend, I can never repay you. (Pause for 3 beats) Right, sorry, didn’t mean to begin to ramble on.
[The teacup is lifted from the saucer as a sip is taken]
H: About that other thing that I wanted to talk to you about. And before you give me that face, it’s not me trying to convince you to put on your suit again; I know the boundaries you’ve set and I have no intentions of betraying your trust; Besides, I’ve already voiced my opinions on your retirement; (Pause for 3 beats) Let me stop beating around the bush, I’ve actually come to get some knowledge out of you.
[Once again the hero takes another sip of their tea]
H: Okay, if you’ve seen the news recently, I’m sure that you’re noticing that a lot of, as we call them at headquarters, Golden Age Villains are suddenly finding themselves out of retirement and back on the scene. And it just so happens that they’re doing so when half of our own Golden Age Heroes are retired, or in the process of retiring; And with them, their in-depth knowledge of those Golden Age Villains going with them as they do so. But you don’t need me to tell you this to you, I mean you’re a First International after all, the baddest of all badass hero ages. (Pause for 2 beats) Well yeah, we’ve been reviewing old combat footage and after action reports between you all and them, but, something’s changed in them, they don’t fight like they used to. (Pause for 3 beats) No, I don’t mean that they’re older and their attacks are slower, I mean that their styles have changed entirely, even how they use their abilities has as well.
[The hero takes another sip of their tea, before putting down the saucer and cup]
H: I’m talking about, uhm, (finger snap) remember Devastator!? (Pause for 2 beats) Yeah, the one with earthquake causing powers; Used them more like a sledgehammer, battles would usually end with tons in collateral damage every single time. (Pause for 2 beats) Yeah him, well, recently we had to investigate a series of jewelry store break-ins. The odd thing about them was that they all happened during an earthquake. And after an investigation, as it turns out, Devastator used the earthquake as cover to break storefront windows. But because the break ins happened during an earthquake, the police chalked it up to earthquake damage. Which made the response time a lot longer than what it should’ve been. This of course allowed our old friend to empty out the stores with plenty of time to even steal from the registers, and well it goes without saying that if the store had a safe, those were emptied out as well. Very uncharacteristic of Devastator. (Pause for 3 beats then with a bit of a laugh) Yes, he did get an outfit change. I’m not going to lie, I do like their new outfit, it’s sleek and modern, not like that dreadful Golden Age outfit; (Nervously) I mean, yeah, there’s something to be said about classic outfits, sure, but this new outfit of theirs. Ugh it’s just so much more tasteful and easy on the eyes, Devastator absolutely called a designer to make their comeback outfit, cause yes. Ramblings aside, think you can help out?
[A series of sounds from distant cars honking can be heard before they’re eventually drowned out by an airplane passing overhead]
H: The way you can help is rather easy actually. I was hoping you could tell me the names of your rogues gallery, and anything personal about them that you can recall; I’m talking about hobbies, if they had a family, who they hung out with, anything and everything. If it wouldn’t be that much of an issue, could we go over your rogues gallery before I became your sidekick first; After that, maybe we could cross reference the villains that you and I faced, that way we could also make a rough timeline of when each villain showed up to the scene, and when was the last time that they appeared in public. (Pause for 2 beats) Why? Well, there’s a debate, some say that it’s simply old dogs learning new tricks. However, there are others, like myself, who believe that perhaps they haven’t learned new tricks, but rather that they have someone else pulling their strings. Maybe mind control, or cloning, it’s difficult to give any definitive answer yet; (Pause for 2 beats) Come on now, how could you think that we wouldn’t start at the beginning, we’re combing through the Golden Age Heroes in order to see if there are any villains with the ability to mind control others, barring that, maybe there was a villain with hyper intelligence and the resources to be able to create clones on a whim. And, just like you and the old timers taught us, the best place to look for said villains would be within the groups that our lovely Golden Age Villains associated themselves with.
[The teacup makes a noise as it slightly clanks against the saucer, as it is picked up, and the last bit of the tea is sipped up]
H: (Pensively) Profiling? Mmm, I don’t think you could consider it profiling, suspicion by association absolutely. However we have to begin somewhere, and well you all pretty much hammered it into our skulls. (Pause for 3 beats, happily and excited) You’ll help?! That’s wonderful! Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! And I know the other heroes at headquarters will also appreciate it. Mind if I step outside real quick? I need to make a quick phone call.
[There’s the sound of a chair scraping against the ground, along with the steps that lead to a door; Said door opens and closes. As soon as the door closes, a phone is taken out and a phone number seems to be dialed]
H: Yeah hey! It’s me! Good news! They’ve agreed to help! Yeah! I’m going to go get as much of their rogues gallery written down as possible. Maybe if we’re lucky, it’ll also be the catalyst for getting them back into the action. I mean they’re still in good shape, and I can definitely see the spark still being there in their eyes. We just need to jump start it. And this just might be the spark to get them going. Though, we may have to help them get over the incident. (Pause for 2 beats) yes ma’am, I know ma’am, I’m aware it’s a delicate subject; I was there ma’am, so I know how hurtful it would be if I brought it up before they’re ready.
[The sound of a few people passing by can be heard, they stop for a quick second, whispering among themselves]
H: (Away from the phone) Hi, yeah, uhm sorry I’m not doing autographs or pictures right now. I’m kinda visiting an old friend of mine, and I’m also on the phone with Sunspot. (Pause for 3 beats slightly bored expression) Yes, The Sunspot. (Pause for 3 beats) Thank you for being so understanding. (Pause for 2 beats) Okay, yeah, maybe next time. (Back towards phone) Eh, don’t worry about it, just some fans, or maybe just people who have seen me in that one famous magazine I did recently. (Pause for 4 beats) Yeah that one! Well I guess the sister publication…no, not the teen version, the hero version. Yeah Hero Mania Magazine; Regardless, they were very understanding of what I was currently doing. Oh! The people I just spoke to also say hi. (Pause for 3 beats) Yeah, don’t worry, my mentor knows that I stepped out to do this call. Though I’m not going to be able to stay on the line for much longer, I’m seeing more and more eyes on me from the people passing the hallways. Yes ma’am, don’t worry, my mission priority is to get the information out of them first, then I’ll be heading to headquarters before doing anything else. Alright, I’ve got to go, bye.
[The hero hangs up their phone, then proceeds to open the door and walk back over to the chair; After closing the door.]
H: Alright, thank you so much for letting me make the call, I really appreciate it; (Pause for 3 beats) Oh, it was Sunspot, just giving her a status update on my mission, and how it’s coming along. (Pause for 4 beats) Sunspot is doing well—at least as well as someone can be after having their new position imposed onto them—(Pause for 3 beats) Yeah don’t worry, she doesn’t fault you for that, she knows the circumstances of your retirement. Sides according to her (mocking in a friendly manner) Ain’t no bemoaning what’s already happened; Only thing yah can do now is ride the horse or get off the saddle. (With a little laughter) Besides, don’t tell her I said this, but I think she likes the attention. I mean it would make sense, what with her being from a family of rodeo stars and whatnot. But uhm where were we? (Pause for 2 beats) Oh right! Your rogues gallery, give me a second to take out a pen and a notebook…and, now I’m ready to write down the info, so let me hear them all. (Pause for 3 beats, thoughtfully) Okay so there’s Plague, Gamma Vortex, and Wraith to begin with, and who would you say was the first one to show up?
[The teacup clanks against the saucer as it is once again lifted and drunk, the scene slowly fades to nothing as the last bit of the final line is spoken and softly disappears, ultimately ending the scene]
> Scene: Headquarters
[The sound of a pair of mechanical doors opening is heard, followed by the sound of some steps making their way in]
H: And according to the information that we’ve gathered, we can surmise that…(Pause for 3 beats) huh? (Pleasantly surprised) Hey! Look who’s out of the apartment!? (Pause for 3 beats then with a slight laugh) I kid, you know it’s fantastic to see you here, especially after all of these years. (Pause for 3 beats) Oh, you noticed the remodel and, well, everything. Yeah, we brought it into the modern age! Or at least according to the New Internationals we have. You know how young heroes are; You let them breakout of their sidekick roles and suddenly they think that they’re all that. Calling into question your design choices, your outfits; (Pause for 3 beats, in denial) What? Nope, what are you talking about, we were never like them. (Pause for 3 beats, still in denial) That’s an utter lie, I did not question your own outfit when I broke out. (Pause for 2 beats) Yeah, well, you don’t have any sort of evidence to back up this claim of yours, soooo, take that.
[The Hero addresses the console, after hearing that there was snickering being heard through the screen]
H: (Shocked and embarrassed) Oh gosh, I can’t believe I just did that in front of everyone. I won’t be able to live this down. Now I have to retire, change my name, and never be a superhero again. (Pause for 3 beats, then continue with some laughter) I’m kidding, let me mute myself though, I don’t want to have a hot mic incident again, and also it lets all of you on call right now to discuss among yourselves the information we’ve gathered up.
[The Hero turns back to their mentor, after the snickering from the computers turns into murmurs of discussion]
H: (Nervous laughter) New hero candidates, am I right? You know the headache that they give you when you’re trying to get them used to working within an organization like ours. But I don’t have to remind you of that fact. (Pause for 3 beats) Okay, and? So what if my generation is three-fourths former sidekicks, the point still stands, the other fourth was still difficult to integrate once they passed the grace period, weren’t they? (Pause for 2 beats) Exactly, thank you for agreeing with me.
[The Hero walks a bit around the room, their steps being heard before the sound of a sliding door overtakes the noise]
H: Walk with me, yeah? (Pause for 3 beats) Sorry if you were looking forward to meeting some old friends, and former sidekicks. Unfortunately, most are in different outposts, it’s recruitment season and the marketing department wants our most recognizable heroes out there at the outposts to increase the numbers of potential candidates that we can reach; So you can imagine how stretched thin we are right now, but hey, if we couldn’t multitask, then what kind of heroes would we be?
[Another door opens up as the steps continue going towards their direction]
H: (With a slight surprise) Still, this is your first time stepping into the HQ in a while, right? (Pause for 3 beats) Oh yeah, internal security thought it was a good idea to beef up our systems, to prevent you know, shapeshifters from waltzing in, or telepaths who are mind controlling heroes from infiltrating and causing some chaos; So sorry if the security people were being a bit difficult, I see they gave you a visitor’s pass though; (Whistle) Level Five clearance, there’s only one other person in this building authorized to give that out, which means that you were able to catch Honor Guard just before they had to leave for their own outpost assignment, right? (Pause for 3 beats) Figures, I went out to get drinks with them one night, and they would not stop telling old battle stories that they had with you. Though to be fair we didn’t know each other that well at the time, so it was an easy commonality between the two of us. We went back and forth in sharing stories, so it wasn’t completely one sided. They're a really great person, and honestly, I’m glad that we got to talking with each other. (Pause for 3 beats, pensively) While we’re on the topic of internal security, let me know if you want to put your information into the system, just to avoid any discomfort with the security in case Honor Guard isn’t able to help you.
[The sound of two sets of steps walking are heard, though they come to a stop as soon as they hear the sound and sight of construction going on. Mostly hammers, saws, welding torches, and drills.]
H: So catching up aside, what’s going on? What brings you here? (Pause for 2 beats, surprised) Oh? You want to help a bit more? Uhm yeah we won’t turn away help, especially from a seasoned veteran like you. Minus any field work, we could always use more people to help comb through the archives; If you wouldn’t mind working there that is. (Pause for 3 beats) Wonderful! Great, uhm we’re actually not too far from it. (Pause for 3 beats) Yeah you’re entirely right, this was The Memorial Atrium, though we’re renaming it to…well we’re not sure yet, we have a pool going on across the entirety of the organization. So far it looks like The Resting Garden is winning. (Pause for 3 beats) No, we didn’t get rid of The Memorial Atrium, we just moved it. Actually that’s me lying, now it’s called Memorial Hall, it will have an atrium by the same name, and a plate that gives information to visitors. (Pause for 3 beats) Yeah, with all the heroes that announced their retirements, we figured that the atrium was going to quickly fill up; So we allocated some funds to build a new building, nothing fancy, but enough to host memorials to our heroes for a long while before needing an expansion.
[The sound of two sets of feet moving again are heard, as the sound of the construction slowly dims into silence]
H: I can’t even begin to tell you how much your help will do for us; (Pause for 3 beats) Oh no don’t worry, you’re not going to be the only person in the archives, we have some of the more eagle eyed and brainy sidekicks in there. We put them on intern duty and have them looking over the films and records. I’m sure they’ll benefit from having someone in there to guide them on what entries to pay attention to and which not to. (A bit excited) Although, I would feel pretty bad if I didn’t try to warn you about the fact that there might be some fans of yours in that group. (Whispering) If I had to give my own opinion, it wouldn’t surprise me if the others gained an interest in you from all the archive entries they’ve been going through.
[The walking stops, as the two stand in front of the room, there’s the muffled sound of old battle reels playing, and some clattering of heavy boxes coming from the other side of the door.]
H: Welp this is your room, again, sorry if you get swarmed in there; You know how sidekicks are…well, you know how I was when I was your sidekick. (Pause for 3 beats, then laugh a bit) Hey! What did you expect!? First of all, I was a huge fan of yours, and when you selected me as your sidekick I was over the moon. Second of all, I was just a kid back then (pause for 3 beats) Okay so maybe sixteen isn’t technically being a kid but you know what I mean.
[The Hero pounds in a code on the pad, the beep of the lock opening signifies that it was the right code; Which leads to the doors sliding open.]
H: (Leaning into the room, and slightly away from the mic) Hey everyone! Uhm I’ve got a special guest for all of you. They’ll help you the best they can, and I really respect them, so take very good care of them; Most importantly of all, listen to them because you’ll come to find out that this particular guest of mine has an incredible amount of experience. So, say hi to my mentor!
[The sound of people getting excited and even murmuring spilled out into the hallway, while the battle reels still very much were playing.]
H: (Normally) Well, I hate to introduce and run, however I do have a meeting to finish up, and then after that, I gotta go and check out some tips we got, I think a few of them could be the big break we’ve been looking for. (Pause for 3 beats) Yeah, don’t worry, I’ll be safe… I mean, you did teach me to keep myself safe first and foremost. Anyways, thanks again for coming down and helping out. If memory serves, some of the other heroes are due to return today, so I think a lot of them would love to see you walking the halls again, even if it’s just for your visit; It’ll be a huge morale boost, especially with some of the old timers you used to pal around with. (Pause for 3 beats, then once more with laughter) So what if I know most of those old timers (playfully cocky) Just because y’all were the first heroes to establish this group, doesn’t mean y’all are on top anymore. We could totally run circles around all of you; Some of us literally (Pause for 3 beats, playfully laugh) oh, experience beats raw power any day does it? That’s what you forget my dear friend, we’re not inexperienced sidekicks anymore, we’re full blown heroes in our own right. (Laugh again) Anyways, banter aside, it really will boost the mood around here to see one of the founding members walking around. I’ll catch you later okay? Can’t keep the others waiting.
[The sound of the Hero walking away, their steps getting quieter and quieter as they do is one of the last things heard before the door to the archives closes]

2023.06.05 10:40 alex_wolf12 How to Write My R Programming Assignment to Achieve a Perfect Grade

Are you struggling to write your R programming assignment? Do you want to ensure that you secure a perfect grade? Look no further! In this blog post, we will provide you with valuable tips and strategies to help you write a top-notch R programming assignment that impresses your professors and helps you achieve that coveted perfect grade.

1. Understand the Assignment Requirements

The first step to writing a successful assignment is to thoroughly understand the requirements. Take your time to read and comprehend the assignment prompt. Identify the key objectives, the expected deliverables, and any specific instructions provided by your professor. If you have any doubts or questions, don't hesitate to seek clarification.

2. Plan Your Approach

Before diving into coding, it's crucial to plan your approach. Break down the assignment into smaller tasks or milestones. Create a timeline or a schedule to manage your time effectively. By organizing your work, you'll have a clear roadmap, which will help you stay focused and on track.

3. Research and Gather Resources

Research is an essential part of any successful assignment. Familiarize yourself with the concepts and techniques required for the task. Make use of textbooks, online resources, tutorials, and relevant documentation to gather the necessary information. Understanding the underlying principles will enable you to write high-quality code.

4. Start Early and Allocate Ample Time

Procrastination is the enemy of perfection. Start your assignment early to allow yourself enough time for each stage: research, planning, coding, debugging, and documentation. Adequate time allocation will reduce stress and enable you to produce a well-crafted assignment without rushing through the process.

5. Break Down the Problem

Carefully analyze the problem statement and break it down into smaller, manageable parts. Identify the main objectives and outline a logical structure for your code. This approach will help you tackle the problem systematically and ensure that you cover all the required aspects.

6. Write Clean and Readable Code

When writing your R code, strive for clarity and readability. Use meaningful variable and function names, follow a consistent coding style, and add comments to explain your thought process. Well-structured and easily understandable code will make it easier for your professor to evaluate and appreciate your work.

7. Test and Debug Your Code

Don't forget to thoroughly test your code to ensure it functions correctly. Use sample inputs and compare the results with the expected outputs. If you encounter any errors or unexpected behavior, debug your code systematically. Remember to remove any unnecessary print statements or debugging code before submitting your assignment.

8. Document Your Work

Writing clear and concise documentation is often overlooked but crucial for a high-grade assignment. Describe your approach, algorithms, and any challenges you faced during the development process. Provide instructions on how to run your code and any additional details your professor may expect. Documentation demonstrates your understanding of the problem and showcases your professionalism.

9. Review and Refine

Once you complete your assignment, take the time to review and refine your work. Check for any logical errors, code inefficiencies, or areas where you can improve. Seek feedback from classmates or colleagues, as fresh perspectives can help identify areas for enhancement. Aim to submit your best work possible.

10. Follow Submission Guidelines

Before submitting your assignment, ensure that you adhere to the submission guidelines provided by your professor. Pay attention to formatting requirements, file naming conventions, and any additional documentation or files that need to be included. Following the guidelines demonstrates your attention to detail and professionalism.
As a statistics assignment helper, I offer assistance for any statistics-related needs you may have. I can help you write your statistics assignment at an affordable price. Please feel free to contact me for further details.

2023.06.05 10:39 YuliangJones Use circuit breaker plugs for life protection

Use circuit breaker plugs for life protection
The circuit breaker plug is an important part of electrical appliances, which can help us protect the home circuit, so as to ensure the safety of family life. Without a circuit breaker plug, electrical accidents such as overload and short circuit may occur when using electrical appliances, and even cause fire. Therefore, it is very important to choose and use the circuit breaker plug correctly.
First of all, different electrical appliances need to choose a suitable circuit breaker plug. At the same time, during the installation process, it is also necessary to pay attention to the rated current value of the plug to ensure that it can withstand the current load of the electrical appliance.
Secondly, the correct method of use is also very important. When plugging and unplugging the circuit breaker plug, the appliance should be turned off first to avoid tripping or even burning the circuit breaker due to excessive current. At the same time, regularly check the connection and fixing of the circuit and plug to ensure good contact between the electrical appliance and the circuit breaker plug to avoid danger.
Finally, proper maintenance and care is also key to extending the life of your circuit breaker plugs. Regularly clean the surface of the plug and the connection port to ensure that the surface is clean and unobstructed to reduce the occurrence of electrical accidents. At the same time, it should be properly kept when not in use for a long time.
In short, the circuit breaker plug is related to the safety of household electrical appliances, and its correct use and selection are very important for our life security. Let's focus on home safety together, starting with circuit breaker plugs.

2023.06.05 10:34 JarJae17 How do men manage to be so stupid?

(This is a wild rant, to blow off all the steam buckling up right now. I can't talk to anyone but I need to get this out.)
I know. I know- what a rough title. But honestly, I am so fed up.
I (18f) will finish the highest educational level in Germany soon and I have an apprenticeship at a bank with a pretty good wage. But I need to move into my own apartment. A little backstory: My parents made a saving account for me. It ranged to 10k now and it was always meant to pay for my very first apartment.
However, plans changed when I got a boyfriend (whom I dearly love but he should start believing in some gods that I won't strangle him). He (19m) will move in with me, which should have made things a lot easier. Well, so I thought. But oh man, I was so so wrong.
Because of him, I got us a bigger place for a good price. As planned, we used the saving account to purchase furniture. It just became a little more due to the second head in the new household. I had no issues with it, of course. But before we began to purchase everything, I did talk to him about finances because I like to scheme everything out.
We would have to live at least one month prior to my starting date at my new job in order to get accustomed to the place and the new life. And since this apartment had a good location (with supermarkets and all reachable within a minute walk) I knew we had to get this. Sadly, the owner said we could rent the place but we had to move in a little earlier. Which leads to us moving in in at least two weeks. A few months ago I picked up two jobs in order to start saving money and pay some furniture with it. Because the other half of my savings will go into investments and I am adamant to not change that. I paid of the deposit of the new apartment, all the contracts run in my name.
And whilst I will happily pay half the rent and for the living costs, I cannot do such in the first two months. I will get my first paycheck near the end of august. I told my boyfriend that we had to be depending on his job, his savings. I told him five months ago to stop purchasing stuff so we won't end up in a financial crisis.
Of course, this man went to buy a PC, a new lego set, expensive jackets and shoes and whatnot. I didn't say anything as I do agree he needed a new PC. And I told him it was fine as long as he started saving a bit. He didn't. Of course he didn't. He buys some skins for games, battle passes, expensive gifts for his family... Thank you, my dear. Thanks for listening to me.
We move into his city. And whilst he lived only five minutes away from a train station, we now live twenty minutes away from it. Though it is only ten with the bus. Meaning, he has every goddamn chance to reach the train station and get to his old job.
But you know- silly me for believing he knows how to think.
This week he quit his job. Yes. We will move into the apartment in approximately two weeks when all my finals are through. Yes, he is very much aware of that. But does he care? No. He did apply to a new one and I told him to wait until they called him back. Yeah, why listen to the stupid woman? Of course! Let's go and quit without even having a new job.
I can't. If I'd tell you steam comes out of my ears, better believe I am not joking.
He explained to me, though, that he has all the finances sorted out. I am laying back then, you know. But today was the tip of the cake. He texts me saying the state doesn't pay him this sort of loan when there are holidays. And you know when we move in and have to depend on exactly this money? In the holidays, correct!
Now I write application after application to get another job. Because why not? Someone has to pay the rent at the end, right?
And then he proceeds to admit he had an offer from his dad's job this weekend to help out for at least 300€. Might not seem much but in the end it would have been. And now that he is jobless we depend on any offer. Sure, it is a bit under the minimum wage but in the end, he'd have to help out for three days only. Instead of THNKING "Oh, yeah. We might need those 300€." this man straight out said he was too lazy for this and declined. Now the offer is gone.
I can't. I just- what is he thinking? I won't empty my entire damned saving account just because he doesn't have his life under control. If I'd known this, man, I would have let him stay at his parent's house and get myself a nice, smaller space.
And now we are in this mess. He won't do any other work because he, and I quote, "doesn't want to do a job where he actually has to work." My guy, if you don't start working soon you will have far bigger problems. I understand everyone has a preference but please- for two months? You can do it for two months.
And now he has the audacity to say I can't get another job because "what of our time together?" Boy, if you don't shut up. We can have time together. I'd love that. But not under a bridge! I paid for everything up to this point. He had to pay 70% in the next two months whilst I would have only been able to contribute 30% of the money. But now it seems I have to take up these 70% as well. Who quits a job without having another whilst in the middle of the process of the first ever apartment?
The worst part is that I talked about the finances over and over again. He only went "Baby, I know. You've said it five times already." I should have said it a sixth and seventh time apparently ! He didn't get it. I told him how expensive living is nowadays. And he didn't listen. Now I have to smooth his stupidness out and fix this mess.
Thank you, my love. Thank you.

2023.06.05 10:28 Better-Protection-23 Why Wealthy Americans Love UBS, The Secretive Swiss Banking Giant.

March 24, 2023, 12:35 AM UTC
Credit Suisse Group AG and UBS Group AG are among the banks under scrutiny in a US Justice Department probe into whether financial professionals helped Russian oligarchs evade sanctions, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Swiss banks were included in a recent wave of subpoenas sent out by the US government, the people said. The information requests were sent before the crisis that engulfed Credit Suisse and resulted in UBS’s proposed takeover of its rival.
Subpoenas also went to employees of some major US banks, two people with knowledge of the inquiries, said.
The Justice Department inquiries are focused on identifying which bank employees dealt with sanctioned clients and how those clients were vetted over the past several years, according to one of the people. Those bankers and advisers may then be subject to further investigation to determine if they broke any laws.
Credit Suisse and UBS both declined to comment.

Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine resulted in expanded sanctions, Credit Suisse was well-known for catering to wealthy Russians. At its peak, the bank managed more than $60 billion for Russian clients, who generated between $500 million and $600 million a year in revenue for Credit Suisse.
At the time it discontinued its business with individual Russian clients last May, Credit Suisse held about $33 billion for them, 50% more than UBS, despite the latter’s larger wealth management business.
The Justice Department last year launched its KleptoCapture task force to enforce sanctions on wealthy Russians who are political allies of President Vladimir Putin. The US government has since seized a number of yachts, private planes and luxury properties.
Last month, the US moved to seize homes in New York, Florida and the Hamptons owned by sanctioned oligarch Viktor Vekselberg.

A number of individuals have also been charged with helping oligarchs hide assets — British businessman Graham Bonham-Carter was arrested in October on charges that he illegally transferred $1 million to maintain US properties for sanctioned billionaire Oleg Deripaska. A former senior Federal Bureau of Investigation agent was also charged with helping Deripaska violate sanctions in January.
Banks can face serious penalties for violating US sanctions. BNP Paribas in 2014 agreed to pay nearly $9 billion after pleading guilty to US charges for processing transactions for sanctioned Sudanese, Iranian and Cuban entities. In 2019, Standard Chartered Bank agreed to pay more than $1 billion to settle a Justice Department probe, in which a former bank employee pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate US sanctions on Iran.
As the Credit Suisse rescue plan emerged over the weekend, UBS expressed general concerns about taking on its rival’s potential legal liabilities. The Swiss government has said it would guarantee up to 9 billion francs ($9.8 billion) in losses to UBS from the deal.
US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco in early March said the Justice Department was responding to the “uncertain geopolitical environment” by beefing up its national security division, which enforces sanctions violations.
“Corporate crime and national security are overlapping to a degree never seen before, and the department is retooling to meet that challenge,” Monaco said.

One solution: Buy GME, DRS from the brokerage to BOOK, and wait for the short squeeze of a lifetime.
If they still make hit piece about the GME chairman only a day before the earnings after years of "it being over" and push out a piece shilling a bank that bought the burden of Credit Suisse (the same Credit Suisse who had Archegos baggage and shorted GME) then they are fukd.
