So I've just moved away from home for a job near-ish to London. I thought it was what I wanted, but now I've fully moved I'm having a hard time settling in, and the loneliness of moving to the city on my own has been tough.
I could really do with a distraction, just someone to talk to, to keep me company while I power through this.
I've also just started Sertaline which might be why I'm struggling at the moment.
A little about me, I really like travelling, being outdoors and in nature (I know, why did I move to the city?!). I exercise fairly often and I've been thinking of taking up photography to get me outdoors more, I'm just saving up at the moment for a camera.
Other than that, I'm a very people orientated person and get a lot of fulfilment out of spending time with others. Unfortunately I'm on my own for now.

First and foremost, thank you for taking a moment to read my advertisement here. I'm typically running games, so I'd really just like the chance to play once again. With that in mind though, I do have a few preferences for a game.
 

• I am only looking for games over Voice. Sorry, but play by post or text based games are not for me. Or I should honestly say, I am not for them.
  
• In terms of games, my preference goes: Mage the Ascension, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Exalted (I have not played 3rd, so I know nothing about it), Changeling the Lost, and then a VAAAAST gulf of distance. Vampire. Honestly, it's safe to assume that I'm borderline just not all that interested in Vampire. The rest of the splats... Maybe Wraith?
  
• I am not interested in starting as mortals. I want to be a Mage. Or a Werewolf. Or whatever! I want to dive into that head first.
  
• I am very, very, extremely interested and biased towards playing mystical characters. Again, a Mage. Or a Theurge. A Twilight Exalted. Things of that nature. I want there to be magic, mysticism, other realms. I want to explore them, delve into all of that fun. Do rituals, make deals and contracts with spirits or umbrood, etc etc.
  
• And finally, I have a distinct and large preference towards sandbox style games. I just love having a world to really get into, have fun with, and work with the group to come up with our own fun. Set our own goals, and work from there.
  

 
I know, I know. All of that is a rather large ask. I know my chances here are slim, but they are zero if I post nothing at all.
About myself: I'm in my early 40's, been playing since I was a teen. I'd say that I am an experienced dabbler. I've never gone too deep into the lore of any of the White Wolf games, so I am completely open to whatever you might throw at me! I am LGBT+ friendly, open minded about most things (I try at least), and ultimately? Gaming is about fun. We should aim to have fun, and if it gets to where things aren't? Either course correct or part ways.
I promise that I will show up a good 90% of the time. Cannot promise 100%, as life happens. However anytime that I must bow out, I will give notice a good bit beforehand. I pay attention, take notes, embrace my character's personality (both positives and flaws), and do my best to be a team player.

So this just happened this morning.
There was a protest on my street that I went to opposing the building of some high rise condos that would be a really bad thing for the community in terms of traffic density and so on.
There's lots of people there and this guy walks up to me, whom I've never met, and asks what the protest is about.
English wasn't his first language, and so I was being polite, making sure he understood what was going on and answered a few questions for him. I thought that was it and turned back to the protest to hear one of the city councillors speak.
He stood next to me and kept talking to me, indicating he lived in one of the buildings nearby and hoped the proposed condos wouldn't be built. I said yeah me too and went back to listening to the speaker. I gave this guy all the body language that I was not interested in talking more.
I really thought that was it. And after this many years on the planet, I should know better. Next thing I know, he's touching my arm, asking me personal questions and asking me where I live and do I like to party. I mean what? Party?
Right then, the speaker finished speaking and everyone clapped and essentially the protest was going to wrap up, my queue to leave.
I didn't even make eye contact with this guy and started to walk away. I got a few hundred yards and then he's asking me for my name and what I do for a living and did I want to hang out and so on... I said no thanks but he kept following me.
I ended up crossing the street and jumping on a bus (even though I was across from my own building but didn't want him to know where I lived) and went a few stops and then walked back.
Dude, I was polite to you, it was NOT in any way an invitation to touch me, invade my personal space, AND follow me. And he lives near me, chances are I'll run into him again.
This was just a vent because not a day goes by without SOMETHING from someone who thinks they are entitled to my info, to touch me, to follow me, to come onto me, to ask for my number... or worse.
This is why I prefer my own company, and I stay home.

The front door lock broke with the key in it, getting the key stuck in and the door stuck locked in the process. I tried contacting the 24/7 emergency number given in the contract and on a noticeboard in the house, and the call didn't even connect. I called every number I have for the letting agents and no answer (obviously on a Saturday), so I sent an email and a left a voicemail stating I had contacted them with every method given to me and was unable to get hold of anyone, and then called out an emergency locksmith.
I did this as I don't want to leave the key in the front door on the street until monday, and need to be able to use the door tomorrow (I had to climb over the back fence and use my backdoor key to get in, nearly giving myself a vasectomy in the process).
I need to get this paid back, it's a lot of money to me, and I'm expecting a fight when they are finally reachable again on monday. Can I expect to get the money back? Do I have any ground to stand on given the 24/7 number they gave doesn't work and I repeatedly attempted to reach them before calling in a locksmith?

I’ve got lupus. I live daily with severe joint pain. I’ve also been prescribed tramadol for nearly 20yrs to alleviate the joint pain. I take about 100-200mg tramadol per day (so 2-4pills each day). Lately (read for many years now) the tramadol is just not doing its job. And I’m getting pretty tired of being dependent on it tbh. I ordered some Kratom and it will be delivered on Monday. But I’m nervous to make the switch. Will I just be swapping my dependencies? Kratom will be more expensive for me than the tramadol is as I have an rx with good insurance. But as I said, it’s not working anymore and I personally refuse to up my dose or try a different medication. I guess what I’m looking for is success stories from those who’ve made a switch like this. What are the advantages? Any advice too…

Users have sometimes stated that it is difficult to express their sorrows or misfortunes on this sub because they do not want to feel burdensome or unwelcome in what is normally a very happy-go-lucky environment. And so, this thread is to encourage furs to open up with their issues, not only on here but on the sub as a whole. If grief has been on your mind or something has been bothering you as of late, big or small, please leave a comment for myself and others to see if we can be of any help, or at least lend a sympathetic ear.
Alternatively, if you feel pretty nice about yourself today, don't be afraid to browse any existing comments and see if you can make somebody's day a little better. Is there going to be another conquest era? Its kind of freaking me out. Well the Western Hemisphere remains 99% Americans, Canadians and Indians, I meant Hispanics, as well as some Asians, also not too many Oceanians, Europeans or Africans for some reason. But.... Considering many recent European and Asian movies no longer speak their native anymore, they now speak English because for one thing the Spanish fantasy Mummies has all English people actors and little to no Spaniards, what actor doesnt speak English? What happened to Algonquin, Spanish, French, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Swahili, Japanese, Aztec, Russian, etc. being the language of their country? The English language came from UK people and their arrival in America(thinking at first it was India)alongside Spanish and French people was the reason the "Indians" were driven to near extinction and so were their languages, I bet if I go to Mexico, Japan, Russia, Spain, The Congo, Italy, Germany, etc for vacation I might hear more English than a native language. When I went to Disneyland a couple months ago, I heard a lot of people speaking Spanish, I wasnt sure if it was still the key language of Indians, Central Americans I mean, and Anaheim's streets were 99% Centrals and when I went into Angelos, Spanish was being spoken by all the people in there while nobody was Spanish, so where else is English rare? Also if an interview vid has a person talking in Japanese or whatever, there will be a voiceover in English, like seriously, cant we just listen to their languages? I'm running my first ever campaign (woohoo) while simultaneously playing D&D for the first time ever, so there's a lot I'm not super familiar with.

The players were running through the Seagrow caves and doing quite a marvelous job of handling the encounters/talking to the NPC Myconids. My issue started when they got to the crystal cave. They agro the Fume Drakes as intended, but during the fight they mistakenly assumed that the nearby crystals were spawning/powering the Fume Drakes.
Here's where I might have messed up. I got scared that they would release the Fire Snake early. Now for some groups that might have been OK, but my players are as new as I am and were getting their butts kicked. So when the fighter runs up to the egg I had her roll perception and sort of implied that breaking the egg would be a bad idea (hoping to stop them from breaking it during combat) they took this as "Breaking the crystal will cause you all to die!" And so now they're scheming on how to get the crystal out without destroying it.
They actually went about this in a really smart way. They decided to leave the caves and ask around the cloister to see if anyone had tools for stonework. As luck would have it, the module specifically mentions that the Kolbold Tinkerer has mansonary tools. After a nearly crit success on a charisma check they now have the tools in their possession and are hoping to get back to the caves on our next session.
So here's where I need some advice. Do I let them carve the egg out and bring it intact with them, or should I have it break while they're trying to get it out? And if they do keep the egg, is it game breaking to let them keep it as a pet? All my players are still lvl 1. I know it would be easier to have them fight the Fire Snake, but their solution is so creative, and I really want to reward that behavior somehow.

I(26f) just had celebrated my birthday. I have 3 best friends mike(25m), Anna (24f) and Rose (25f). So on the Facebook invite I said drink at the bar and just see where the night takes us.
During the Uber ride Anna, rose and mike started discussing about possibly taking md. I get randomly drug tested at work. So when they asked me if I wanted any I reminded them I get tested. I was worried that they might pressure me to go to nightclubs when that may not be the direction I’d like to take the night. So I said “just remember this night is about me” and they said “yeah why wouldn’t it be about you?” and we just kind of left it at that.
At around 10 they said they gonna go get their md and they’ll meet me at a club. I say that I’m not sure we’ll end up at a club. They were a bit shocked as they thought we were going to clubs and I said we’ll see where the night takes us on the invite. I was also a bit annoyed because it felt like they just wanted to ditch me to go clubbing. They reassured me that wasn’t the case and they’ll come right back and keep in contact with me via a friend Alex (30m)there just incase if I haven’t check my phone and all that.
Around 2 hours later, alex still hasn’t heard anything, I get a message from rose when the bar is nearly closing up asking where I am and I respond that I’m still at the bar and waiting for them. Rose responds “let’s go to this nightclub” I say “nah” and she’s asking “why not. come and party” I responded with “you said you were going there and coming straight back”
Rose starts to say that they’re on their way back now but at this point I said not worry about coming back as I felt it shouldn’t have taken them this long. Rose kept saying that it took them 20minutes to get to the club but I said well even if it took you 20 mins there the times still didn’t add up to how long they had been gone for.
She then asks if I’m upset and I said that from the start they were hinting at clubs and that they can go to clubs any time they wanted on any of the weekends they usually go, why couldn’t tonight just be what I wanted with the bar and why did you all feel the need to go get drugs in the first place. I also expressed that I felt upset that work friends were more concerned with me having a good time on my birthday and it felt like my friends thinking about getting high and going to nightclubs.
A friend from work ended up taking me home and I asked for their opinion on it as I felt I overreacted. They said my best friends shouldn’t have abandoned me on my birthday and that it seemed like they were more concerned about how they were going to have a fun time from the start when it should have been about you. She also brought up the point that if they were really going to go there and back why did all 3 of them need to go why couldn’t just 2 of them go and 1 stay with you
I feel I was the asshole because I said they can go and get the drugs and over reacted.

Hello again, lovely people of Reddit. It's me again, the crazy lady from this post who's been trying to find friends for her husband.
First, I want to say thank you, seriously, from the bottom of my heart. The husband had been feeling really down lately, and just seeing all of the responses and support and suggestions from this community really helped. Knowing there are others out there also experiencing the struggles of making friends as an adult meant so much to him. He read through all your comments once I finally admitted what I'd done, and I haven't seen him smile like that in a long time. I can't express how happy that made me. And now, like Zhu Li, I have done the thing. On Saturday 6/10/23 at 1 PM, the husband and I will be having a picnic in Jacobson Park near abouts to Shelter 6. We will be bringing some board games, some food, maybe a frisbee, anything else we can think of. Suggestions for what to put on the sign are welcome. Currently I'm leaning toward "Don't Panic" because it's amusingly appropriate. I have a laptop that can badly play 2160p60fps youtube video but the video is always very choppy and the grey circle keeps spin loading in the middle of the youtube video. Videos are unwatchable because of these poor choppy, loading performance. Fan is louder than a race car when I start and watch 2160p60 videos. I think the laptop will explode it gets so loud for so long when clicking on 2160p videos. Its not internet speed because the horizontal-replay-time-bar is a third loaded already, the internet is super fast.

weight, size, battery life, GPU since I don't play computer games
Please suggest some to me. I prefer no GPU card since I read GPU in unnecessary for watching 2160p60fps youtube videos. And I don't do gaming.

I (26f) have a great aunt, M, who is in her 60's I think and a son, J, in his 40's. She has another son who is mentally handicapped. And they have 3 out of 6 of J's kids, 3 of her nephews kids, and my niece living with her. My niece went through a traumatic event and is with her until my sister can find housing near where my niece wants to be. My sister (32f) and I drove the 2 hours to go see her daughter, but M and J were not there. All of the kids were. Only one of the kids is 18 and she was not involved in any of this. There is a 13 year old girl, O, there that honestly she acts like a wannabe gangster. She acts tough and every time she had seen me in the last 5 years had called me a cow... so I don't really want anything to do with her to begin with. Anyways we got there and my nerves were already shot and I hadn't eaten all day which had made it so much worse. I had tried to talk to my niece and O kept trying to interrupt and pull my niece away from me and the caught a whole attitude when my niece stayed with me. Then I had went outside because it is beyond chaotic in that house. While I was walking away O in a snobby voice said bye, and I had responded that I was going to smoke I wasn't going anywhere. I'll admit it was sharper than intended. Well we were told to wait in my car. When M and J pulled in M jerked the car to a stop, called my sister inside, and told J to "handle me." Instead of asking what my deal was which I would have said sorry to, J starts screaming at me to get in my car and that those kids deserve respect. Then J, O, and all of the other kids accept the 18 year old begin flipping me off every time they walk by my car. O keeps running her mouth telling me to take my car off the property and shut my door and what not. When we got home I was honestly heart broken. I grew up around these people and I ended up blocking all of them, except my niece. I know I'm going to get an earful come Monday, but I just want to make sure, AITAH?
