Leaving Family Law and What Comes Next
2023.06.06 20:30 Discount_Mithral Leaving Family Law and What Comes Next
I'll try to keep this short, but I'll have a TL:DR at the end.
I work for a single attorney practice that has recently transitioned from family law practice to GAL work. We still have a few FL clients, but are not taking any new FL cases on, and are also at capacity for our GAL work, though my attorney keeps saying yes to new matters in a way that makes me think money is an issue. We are booking for end of July to August at this time due to trials, client load, and general attorney availability.
Based on that unavailability, I've been struggling to get my attorney to even review things I've drafted, such as a Notice of Unavailability that should have been filed 2-3 weeks ago and has been revised three times now by me to keep it up to date. It's to the point I want to just copy her signature over from another document without her permission just to get the damn thing filed. We have clients that could be done and resolved if she'd just put in an hour or two of time on their case, but she either flakes off, is too busy, or has personal things planned that take priority over work agreed to. (I'm talking spur of the minute trips to Hawaii during weeks we should be getting ready for trial or have reports due.)
I have clients emailing in weekly asking for updates, yet I can barely get an answer on basic things from my boss who's constantly working from home and leaves me on read. It's finally become apparent I need to leave. The guilt on this is giving me huge anxiety, but the guilt I feel for our clients is even worse.
The issue is I don't want to stay in legal necessarily, and am looking for a remote administrative or executive assisting position. My current work/life balance is my ideal, and I want to maintain that above all else. Has anyone made a transition out and been happy? Or moved from one sector to another and found it to be their happy place? Any advice as I get ready to make this move is greatly appreciated.
TL:DR: Attorney is overwhelmed and leaving clients in the lurch, I'm tired of it and ready to move on. Tell me about how you did it or advice you have.

The Race
It all comes back to Le Mans. A century ago, people asked ‘Could a car continue to drive for 24 hours straight?’, an event was made to test that theory, and a legacy in racing, motorsport, and motoring was born. The 24 Heures du Mans is the holy grail of endurance motor racing, and brings up its Centenary edition this year. In its 100 year history, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is recognised as the most prestigious and gruelling test for innovations and improvements in motorsport technology. Technologies such as disk and air brakes, streamlined bodywork, fuel, oil, and lubricant improvements, improvements to engine efficiency and longevity, even things as simple as LED lighting and windscreen wiper blades have been trialled and tested at Le Mans. The normally hot conditions in the middle of June stretch the limits of reliability, with all the teams knowing that in order to beat their competitors, they must first beat the event. A variety of different engine configurations, displacements, positions, fuels, and hybrids have won over the history of the event. So far, petrol-fuelled traditional piston engines have been the most successful. Mazda managed to win using a Wankel Rotary engine in 1991 with the Mazda 787b (oh god listen to that sound!), while Audi was the first to win with an alternate fuel, taking victory in the diesel-powered R10 TDI in 2006. 2012 ushered in the era of the Hybrid, with Audi taking victory in the R18 e-tron Quattro, featuring a flywheel hybrid engine.
Qualifying
The Qualifying format for Le Mans is unique to the event, and called Hyperpole. In this format, all classes are permitted to use the track in the 1 hour qualifying session on Wednesday evening. The top 6 cars from each of the 4 classes then progress to the Hyperpole session on Thursday night, which sets the top of the grid for each class. This means that each class will be segregated on the final grid.

The Circuit de la Sarthe covers 13.6 kilometres of the French country side. It combines the permanent race components of the Ford Chicanes, the pit straight, under the Dunlop Bridge and through to Tertre Rouge as well as the normal everyday roads of the Mulsanne straight through to Indianapolis and Arnage. The track has gone through many iterations over the years; originally, the cars raced into the heart of the city, turning just before the river Sarthe, before hurtling down the 8.6 kilometre straight. In 1932, the circuit removed the journey into the city, and more closely resembled the track we see today. Here’s a video of Mike Hawthorn touring the circuit with a camera and microphone attached in 1956, one year after his involvement in the Le Mans disaster. The addition of the Porsche Curves and the Ford Chicanes in 1972 added an extra dimension to the high speed, fast flowing track. In the late 80’s, the Group C prototype cars would reach over 400km/h, achieving average speeds of almost 250km/h in qualifying for the entire lap. This is an onboard of Derek Bell’s Porsche 956 in 1983, showing the ridiculous speeds on this configuration of the circuit. This configuration remained relatively unchanged right up to 1990, until FIA mandations required that for the circuit to be sanctioned, it must not have a straight longer than 2km. The 6km Mulsanne straight was cut down into three relatively equal length portions by two chicanes, giving the iteration of the circuit used today. Allan McNish takes you on an onboard lap of the 2008 circuit in this video. McNish is one of the gods of the modern prototype era, winning Le Mans 3 times; once with Porsche and twice with Audi. For a more comprehensive focus on the track, John Hindhaugh’s track walk takes you on a 30 minute exploration of the track, with in depth focus on corners like the Dunlop Esses, Tertre Rouge, Mulsanne Corner, and the Ford Chicanes.
For some modern on boards, check out the fastest ever lap in the Circuit de la Sarthe: Kamui Kobayashi's 3:14.791 in 2017 Q2, and last year’s Hyperpole lap, by Brendon Hartley, setting a 3:24.408
The Dunlop Bridge
The iconic Dunlop Bridge has been a part of the Le Mans track since 1932, making it the oldest Dunlop Bridge at any track. This part of the track requires a good launch out of the first chicane before cresting the brow of the hill, and plunging through the esses out onto the Mulsanne straight. As the LMP cars are much more maneuverable, caution must be taken passing the slower GT traffic, as Allan McNish discovered in 2011.
Tertre Rouge
Tertre Rouge is the corner that launches the cars onto the long Mulsanne straight. Maintaining momentum through this corner as it opens on exit is imperative to ensure maximum straight line speed heading down the first part of the Mulsanne. The undulation in the road makes for fantastic viewing at night, with some magic images of the Porsches throwing up sparks on the exit in 2014. Finally, this was the location of Allan Simonsen’s fatal crash in mixed conditions in the 2013 Le Mans. The Danish flags will fly at the corner in his memory.
Mulsanne Corner
After the incredibly long Mulsanne straight, the Mulsanne corner nowadays features a subtle right hand kink before the tight 90 degree turn. Here, the cars decelerate from 340 km/h down to below 100 km/h, resulting in a brilliant opportunity to overtake. Again, care must be taken overtaking slower traffic; unaware drivers have caught out faster cars attempting to pass through the kink, such as Anthony Davidson’s spectacular crash in 2012 resulting in a broken vertebra for Davidson.
Indianapolis and Arnage
The Indanapolis and Arnage complex is one of the most committed areas of the track. Hurtling down the hill from the Mulsanne Corner, the road suddenly bends to the right, a corner which only the bravest prototype drivers take flat out, followed by a beautifully cambered open left hander taken in third gear. A short sprint leads the cars into Arnage, the slowest point on the track. The tight right hander was the scene of heartbreak for Toyota in 2014 when the leading #7 broke down and had to be retired after an FIA sensor melted and shut off the electronics. Kazuki Nakajiima was unable to make it to the pits, leaving him stranded on the circuit.
The Porsche Curves
At a terrifyingly high speed, the Porsche Curves is the most committed part of the lap. Getting caught behind GT traffic in this section can mean losing phenomenal amounts of time. This was the site of Loic Duval’s horrific crash in practice for the 2014 event. Keeping momentum through the flowing right-left-right handers that lead into Maison Blanche requires 100% commitment and ultimate precision, with severe punishment for getting it wrong. The exit of the Porsche Curves underwent significant change in 2020, with additional run-off added in the middle part of the section. This has turned the treacherous and claustrophobic sweeping left-hander into an open and sweeping corner, encouraging every little bit of road to be used on the exit. What it hasn’t changed is the terrific consequences for making a mistake
The Ford Chicanes
The final chapter in the 13.6km rollercoaster that is Le Mans is the Ford Chicanes. Two tight left-right handers with massive kerbs are all that separates the driver from the finish line. Watching the cars bounce over the kerbs in beautiful slow motion is certainly something to behold, but 24 hours of mistreatment can lead to suspension and steering issues. The drivers have to be attentive until the very end, lest they throw it all away in the last minutes of the race.
The Circuit de la Sarthe requires over 85% of the lap on full throttle, with the cars accelerating from less than 100km/h to over 300km/h five times each lap. The challenge of having a car finish Le Mans is in itself, an achievement.
The Classes
The WEC consists of three classes on track at once, resulting in three separate races on track each in their own battle for 24 Hours. The classes are split based on their car type, with LMH and LMDh machinery facing off in the Hypercar class, purpose built prototypes with a spec engine and gearbox battling in LMP2, and GT machinery racing in GTE. Each class has its own set of regulations, driver requirements, and relevance for the Le Mans event.
Hypercar
The current top class of endurance sportscars is Hypercar, combining cars built to Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) and Le Mans Daytona (LMDh) specifications. Fighting it out will be LMH machinery from Toyota, Ferrari, Peugeot, Glickenhaus and Vanwall, while Porsche and Cadillac will be racing in LMDh cars. The LMH cars are bespoke sportscars, designed to a strict set of requirements dictating maximum power, drag coefficient, and weight, amongst other parameters, intended to limit the cost of the category. LMDh machines on the other hand are based on the future LMP2 chassis offerings, with manufacturers able to develop their own engines and bodywork, aligning with the power and drag coefficients of LMH. As part of cost-cutting, the Hypercar class is also subject to a Balance of Performance (BoP) formula, to level the playing field and ensure good racing! Hypercars are a little slower than their LMP1 predecessors, with lap times around the 3:24 mark for the Circuit de la Sarthe, which is on par with the 2014 LMP1 cars.
LMP2
The second prototype class is LMP2, and provides an excellent platform for endurance racing on a budget. The LMP2 class features a spec drivetrain and gearbox, using a Gibson V8 producing 400kW, and a selection of three chassis to choose from, of which the Oreca 07 has been the chassis of choice. This ensures that the competition in the class is very tight, and often comes down to the drivers and the team’s performance instead of just having the best car. While LMP2 was capable of 3:25 lap times in years previous, part of the ‘stratification’ of classes with Hypercar’s inclusion, the LMP2 class has lost some power and had some weight added. This should put LMP2 at the heels of the Hypercar pace, but with laptimes outside the 3:28 mark.
LMP2 is the first class that must feature amateur rated (FIA Silver or Bronze) drivers. The Amateurs must drive for a minimum of 6 hours in the car over the course of the race. This means that there's an element of strategy of when to use your amateur driver throughout the race, as the amateur driver is generally slower than the Pros. The pro drivers in this class range from up and coming talent, former F1 drivers, and some of the best sportscar pilots in the world, and with 24 cars in this class, LMP2 is sure to be a hotbed of action over the 24 hours.
LMGTE-Am
GT class cars are cars that are derived from production models, and feature some of the most iconic cars and brands battling it out at the top of the field. The GTE cars are on the border of aero dependency, and can lap Le Mans in around 3:45 in a professional driver’s hands.
This year is the last year of the GTE class, and features 21 cars in a Pro-Am category, with cars from Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Chevrolet on the grid. Despite the lack of a Pro category, the driver quality in GTE-Am is still incredibly high, with factory drivers, young stars, experienced champions and every level of experience in between on the grid, with each car featuring one Bronze and one further Bronze or Silver rated driver. With two amateur drivers, the strategy considerations multiply. While GTE-Am might be the class focussed on the least over the course of the race, the stories that come from this class are phenomenal, and it's well worth following.
The GT classes feature a range of different cars and configurations, and to equalise each of these against each other, the class goes through a process called 'Balance of Performance' or BoP. The organisers can adjust each individual car's weight, fuel tank, air restrictor, turbo boost pressures, and aero performance to alter performance levels to enable the different cars to race competitively. This can sometimes be contentious as every team will feel hard done by, but it is a necessary evil to having the variety of cars on the grid.
Innovative Car
Each year, there is the option for an Innovative Car, with untested or innovative technology, allowed to enter in it’s own category. In years past, this has allowed for entries from the Deltawing, or a modified LMP2 to allow amputees to race.
This year, the Innovative Car entry is a modified Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Next-Gen NASCAR, run by Hendrick Motorsports. The Next-Gen NASCAR features modifications to allow it to run safely on the Circuit de la Sarthe, and will be driven by multiple NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, and Le Mans Overall Winner Mike Rockenfeller.
The Legends
Part of the allure of the Le Mans 24 Hours is the history, and the legends steeped in history over the course of its 88 previous editions. The race has had many headline battles in its history - periods of time where two or three teams went toe to toe for years, with the drivers, cars, and brands embroiled in these battles given the chance to elevate themselves above the rest, and show their prowess.
In 2019, we at /WEC, took our normal Le Mans Legends celebrations to a new level; each week, members of the community have been writing reviews on some of the closest, most fascinating finishes in Le Mans history! You can check out these reports below!

The early races were dominated by the Bentley company in their Speed 6, who won 5 of the first 7 races. Cars were separated into classes by their engine displacement, and the overall winner was based on distance covered. If two cars had finished with the same number of laps, the car with the smaller displacement was declared the winner. The race wasn't run during the second world war, and comparatively very little information is available on the stories of the early days of Le Mans.
After the second world war, teams such as Jaguar, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin became the dominant teams. This era featured the legendary Jaguar D type, the Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, and the Aston Martin DBR1. Jaguar won 5 times between 1951 and 1957, followed by an era of Ferrari dominance. Drivers such as Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, and John Fitch became household names as Le Mans became a battle between German engineering and British "garagistas".
Ferrari and Ford was the story of the 60's, with Ferrari winning 6 times straight before Ford won four in a row with the GT40 Mk II, taking their first win in 1966. The story of their rivalry is legendary in it's own right - Henry Ford had almost successfully bought out the Ferrari motor company, only to be knocked back by Enzo himself at the 11th hour. In retaliation, Ford planned to hurt Ferrari where it mattered most; on the track. The Ford GT40 was so comprehensively dominant that it won the 1966 edition 21 laps ahead of the next car back - a Porsche 906/6. None of the Ferrari 330P3's finished the race. This battle gave drivers like Bruce Mclaren, Dan Gurney, and Jacky Ickx their first Le Mans victories, and propelled them to the forefront of motorsport stardom at the height of motorsport's popularity.
The 1970's saw the dawn of Porsche, with the 917k taking the brand's first win in 1970, with the same car winning the following year in the hands of Helmut Marko (yes, that Helmut Marko). It would be 5 years before Porsche would win again, with Matra taking 3 victories in the interim, each at the hands of Henri Pescarolo. Porsche returned with the 936 and the 956/962c dominating the race for the next 20 years. In fact, from 1970, Porsche won 12 times in 18 events, including 7 in a row, and they miiight have been a bit cheeky about it. Amongst these 12 wins, there were 4 for both Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell, and two for IMSA legend Hurley Haywood, as well as the first win for the Joest team in 1984. This era coincided with the introduction, and subsequent destruction of the Group C sportscar formula, widely regarded as the best Sportscar championship regulations of all time. Porsche’s dominance was eventually ended by Jaguar in the XJR-9LM, at the height of Group C’s magic. Ickx's 6 wins at this stage had earned him the nickname 'Mr Le Mans', a fitting title for one of the best drivers in the world at the time.
GT cars became a force to be reckoned with at the end of the Group C era, with classes being split into LMGTP and LMP. McLaren and Porsche had wins in GTP cars, in the F1 GTR and the 911 GT1 respectively, while Porsche, BMW and Peugeot scored LMP wins. 1997 saw the first win for Tom Kristensen, while the following year Allan McNish took his first victory, starting their journeys into the legend books of Le Mans.
The 2000’s ushered in the era of Audi, with all 13 of their wins coming since the turn of the century. GTP was disbanded due to safety issues, being replaced by GT1 and GT2. Audi picked up wins in the R8, the R10, the R15, and the R18, often dominating the might of the Peugeot 908. Audi's dominance elevated not only their drivers to legend status, but also their team managers, car designers, and race engineers. People like Reinhold Joest (team manager), Dr Wolfgang Ullrich (Audisport director), Ulrich Baretzky (engine designer), Leena Gade, Howden Haynes (race engineers) behind the wall and Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello, Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer have become household names in the sport not only for their wins, but their longevity and domination. Audi's dominance was only broken by a win for Bentley in 2003, running basically an Audi under a British racing green skin, and Peugeot in 2009, before being ended for good by Porsche in 2015. After both Porsche and Audi left the top class, Toyota rose to dominance, taking the last 3 Le Mans events in a row!
Between 2015 and 2017, Porsche added to their victories, now holding a record 19 overall victories at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Audi trail with 13, with Ferrari, Jaguar and Bentley holding the next three positions. Toyota finally took their first overall victory in 2018, and have won every year since. Tom Kristensen is has the most victories at Le Mans, with 9 overall victories over his career with Porsche, Audi and Bentley, inheriting the title of Mr Le Mans.

Make sure you check out Ziombel_444's other guides at spotters.guide and support this great effort!
Endurance Chat
/WEC's podcast, Endurance Chat, will have four episodes in the lead up to Le Mans, as well as a Pre-Pre-Race show in the hours before the event. Watch this space for updates!
In addition, Endurance Chat made a series of features detailing the history of sportscars in the late 60’s and early 70’s, at the transition point of GT and Prototype machinery. The series details some of the machinery, events, and drivers in one of the fastest and most dangerous periods in racing history. You can find a playlist to these features here!
Streaming and Television
In the past, the FIAWEC Broadcast has started from Qualifying Practice. We are awaiting confirmation if that is the case this year – Streams for non-FIAWEC sessions after that point will be subject to the organisers of those series broadcasting those sessions.
- Official stream OUTSIDE US ONLY - The Le Mans package gives you access to all WEC sessions (Practice, Qualifying, Warm Up and the Race) with a choice of on boards, cross platform compatibility, and up to 5 devices connected at once. Additionally, replays of the event are free after the event. Official comms headed by Martin Haven, Anthony Davidson, and Graham Goodwin, who in my personal opinion properly nail the tone of the event. Has been known to get overloaded and crash however
- Eurosport will likely be broadcasting the event in a variety of locales throughout Europe. This will be updated when confirmed
- Radio Le Mans will be streaming live radio for every session
For American audiences, unfortunately the Official stream is geoblocked for your area. American and English-speaking Canadian audiences can access coverage through Motortrend On Demand
- [Official TV Broadcast distribution](COMING SOON) Find out how to watch in your region!
Any further updates on TV or Streaming distribution will be added as they are released!

If you're looking for more interaction, you can find most of the teams, drivers and commentators on Twitter, giving you instant interaction with those in the midst of the event.

2023.05.27 13:08 kittehgoesmeow What A Day: The Mock-Us Caucus by Julia Claire & Crooked Media (05/26/23)
"You know, I wasn't exactly a pale pastel. I've been bold colors." - Charisma machine Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on Newsmax Editor's note: We will be off on Monday for Memorial Day - see you back here on Tuesday! Ceiling Sick
What is left to say about the debt ceiling? Unfortunately, too much! - Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told lawmakers in a letter on Friday that the U.S. government will run out of money on June 5 if Congress does not raise the debt ceiling. This is an update on the projections Yellen had previously given Congress, which were at the time “as soon as” June 1. But the Treasury’s new estimates provide more specificity and more urgency for GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to stop fucking around with the global economy.
- President Biden and McCarthy have reported “progress” in the past few days on a deal to lift the debt ceiling, but as of this afternoon, no agreement has been reached, and the two sides seem to still be far apart. Why? Because Republicans refuse to do a clean debt ceiling raise (something they agreed to many times under disgraced former President Trump) without cuts to “discretionary spending.” Medicare and Social Security are off the table, as are cuts to defense spending (come on) which leaves a wide swath of necessary government services that disproportionately aid financially-disadvantaged Americans that Republicans want to hack away at.
- We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Republicans do not actually care about reducing the federal deficit. They famously want to make the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations permanent, which would add trillions of dollars to the deficit year over year. It’s the same “socialism for the rich, and rugged individualism for the poor,” that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke about so many decades ago.
So where do negotiations stand? - The tentative agreement in the works would raise the debt ceiling for two years (a key White House priority), freeze government spending on domestic programs, but slightly increase(!) military spending, according to sources close to the negotiations. The deal will likely rescind some of the new funding for the IRS (which by the way, was extremely successful and allowed the agency to function properly after years of austerity, which is why conservatives hate it) but House conservatives are split on their support for the deal. House Democrats, by contrast, have been remarkably united in their approach to the deal, maintaining the position that the Biden administration started with, which is that it would not negotiate with economic terrorists.
- The clown car that is the far-right House Freedom Caucus seems to be upset with the deal too, calling it “watered-down” because I guess it doesn’t hurt poor people to the extent they wish to see. Even as avaricious as McCarthy’s current deal seems to be, divided support in his caucus could ultimately cost him the Speakership, which, you may recall, he only achieved after a record 15 votes.
Late Friday, President Biden said a deal to resolve the debt ceiling crisis was “very close” at hand. A “compromise” may be able to be achieved, but it seems that no one would be happy about it, because any compromise involves Republicans getting the spending cuts targeted at essential programs that they want, and weakening the IRS. It seems that the majority of concessions made will be from the White House, because Republicans would rather start a global economic disaster than see anyone except the wealthy receive government subsidies. Happy Memorial Day weekend!

On Thursday night, the Indiana state Medical Licensing Board voted to reprimand Indianapolis physician Dr. Caitlin Bernard for “violating a patient’s privacy” when she told a reporter last year that she performed an abortion on a 10-year-old rape victim from neighboring Ohio, where the state’s laws prohibited the girl from getting an abortion in the wake of the Dobbs decision. However, the board rejected accusations from Indiana’s Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita that Dr. Bernard violated state law by not reporting the child abuse to Indiana authorities, nor did they agree to Rokita’s request to suspend her medical license. Dr. Bernard has been consistent in the defense of her actions, and she told the board that she did indeed follow Indiana’s reporting requirements and hospital policy by reporting the child abuse to the hospital social workers. The girl’s rape was already being investigated by Ohio authorities. Conservative news outlets and Republican politicians falsely accused Bernard of fabricating the story, until a 27-year-old man in Columbus, OH was charged with the rape. Dr. Bernard’s attorneys maintained that she gave no identifying information about the girl that would have violated privacy laws. Thursday’s hearing lasted for 13 hours, and Bernard rejected the claim that her public discussion of a case (in which she included no identifying information) led to the misconduct allegations, saying, “I think if the attorney general, Todd Rokita, had not chosen to make this his political stunt we wouldn’t be here today.”
What Else?
A GOP-led committee in the Texas House of Representatives recommended that state attorney general and fellow Republican Ken Paxton be impeached on Thursday for a wide range of abuses of office. Paxton denounced the proceedings as “political theater” and invited his supporters to protest at the state Capitol tomorrow. January 6: Texas edition!
The Nixon Administration’s former National Security Advisor and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger will turn 100 years old this weekend. 150,000 Cambodians will not. He is the last surviving member of Richard Nixon’s cabinet.
A Russian missile hit a psychiatric clinic and a veterinary clinic in eastern Ukraine on Friday, killing two people and wounding 30. The British Cycling Federation has barred transgender women from competing in the women’s category, and the “open” category will allow male athletes, transgender women and men, and non-binary cyclists. President of Microsoft Brad Smith said that his biggest concern regarding artificial intelligence is deep fakes, or realistic but false content, particularly videos. A South Carolina circuit court judge temporarily halted the state’s six-week abortion ban from going into effect until it is reviewed by the state Supreme Court. What In The World?
In the West Bank, more than three million Palestinians live under Israeli military occupation, where deadly raids have long been carried out with regularity. But now, under the most right-wing government in Israeli history, incursions have increasingly been executed during the day and in densely-populated urban areas. According to the United Nations, 108 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as of May 15, twice as many as at the same point last year, and at least 19 were children. One of the most shocking recent attacks occurred on March 16, just days before the start of the holy month of Ramadan in the city of Jenin. That day, undercover Israeli forces carried out an operation targeting two Palestinian militants, but also killed 14-year-old Omar Awadin, who was one of at least 16 Palestinian civilians in the area, none of whom were armed. After
The Washington Post viewed footage from multiple area security cameras, the raid appears to violate the international ban on extrajudicial killings. The Post shared its findings with international law experts, all of whom said the raid qualifies as a violation of extrajudicial killing prohibitions.

2023.05.19 19:19 scorrieal Need help making f45 worth it
I live in the Tampa Bay, FL area with three F45 locations nearby (Trinity, Clearwater and Oldsmar). I used to be a member at one of them, but couldn’t justify the $150 price tag for my 8 monthly classes. I’m out of town often for work, which is why I do 8 classes instead of unlimited. Most of the time I can’t make all 8 and the owner of the club charges a ridiculous $15 “freeze fee” to pause my account for a few days.
Anyway, I’m trying to figure out if there are any deals at these clubs that are reasonable for people who can’t/don’t want to go every day. I’m in decent shape, I don’t need to lose any more weight (6’0, 175lb male) and I’m not necessarily interested in the challenges, etc. More than anything I like the vibes and the idea of an occasional group class as part of a balanced wellness routine.
I’m annoyed that there isn’t any monthly package for less than 8 classes and find the $25-$35 drop in fees for my local clubs to be absolutely absurd, given the short lengths of the classes and general lack of coaching. I also don’t get why F45 hasn’t provided a way for people to use their memberships beyond one individual club. Just about every other gym chain I’ve been to allows you to use your membership elsewhere.
I think $10 would be a fair price to charge for drop-in, and I’d be willing pay up to $15. Do deals like that exist anywhere for F45? Or are all of the clubs expensive like the ones in my area? Better yet, how does F45 attract clients and stay in business with such high prices, given the amount of other gyms and workout options out there? Would it be correct to assume that most of their members are high-earning professionals or family members?
TL;DR: I’m wondering if there are any f45 clubs anywhere that offer $15 or less per class. For drop-ins or any packages that aren’t the unlimited one. I find anything more than $15 to be absurdly expensive, given it’s a 40-min group class with minimal “coaching”… my membership to LA fitness is $15 for the entire month!

2023.05.16 15:52 kittehgoesmeow What A Day: More Like CRUDE-y Giuliani by Nick Turner & Crooked Media (05/15/23)
"Florida's getting out of that game." - Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), on his state's education agenda Wagner?! I Hardly Knew 'Er!
Ukraine is fighting a war for its survival and it’s getting a lot of help from the riled West. - President Volodymyr Zelensky took his roadies on tour in Europe this weekend and got pledges of more, more, more. Rivaling the schedule of The Amazing Race, Zelensky hit up Rome, Paris, Berlin, and London all this past weekend. He met with leaders in each country who pledged more and continued support of Ukraine in its war against the unluckiest men of Russia. The U.K. pledged new long-range drones, and France will train and equip several battalions with armored vehicles and light tanks. The new long-range drones will supplement a haul of Western arms for a counteroffensive against Russian invaders.
- Previously unreported U.S. intelligence documents from the Discord leaks reveal that top Wagner Group mercenary Yevgeniy Prigozhin offered to supply Ukraine with the locations of Russian troops if they agreed to back off of Bakhmut, where the Wagner fighters were suffering huge losses. Prigozhin has long maintained that the Russian Defense Ministry has not given his fighters the ammunition and other resources they need to succeed. It's incredible that Putin and Prigozhin still seem to be friends but it means that Prigozhin is simply too important to push out of a window like his other enemies. But guess what, assholes? Even though the deal was never made, Ukraine is winning in Bakhmut now anyway. Russia has even acknowledged that its forces have fallen back.
- Now that Ukraine has recorded its first substantial battlefield advances in six months, what about those reports that Zelensky was planning attacks inside Russia? Officially, that is untrue. Zelensky clarified that such planned attacks are only in Russian occupied regions of Ukraine, not Russia proper. But that’s still an improvement, and only the party line, who knows, Moscow might get some more explosions they are unable to explain soon.
Of course, the news is never ALL good. Ukraine hasn't come out of the weekend unscathed.
A war with this many moving parts means that gains are almost always met with bad news somewhere else, but it's not getting any easier for Putin. Especially since his country was kicked out of the Eurovision Song Contest when the Ukraine war began.

Under The Radar
Toot toot. The Mormon Church has a whistleblower. Former investment manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints David A. Nielsen has claimed a stockpile of over $100 billion that was intended for charity work was actually just a clandestine hedge fund. Nielsen insists the charity funds were spent on for-profit initiatives as a tax dodge, alleging that, “Once the money went in, it didn’t go out.” The church collects tithings that are intended to be 10 percent of the earnings of the church’s 17 million members—which amount to about $7 billion dollars per year. The good news is they’ll have plenty of money for lawyers.
Nielsen was a devout Mormon recruited from Wall Street to work at Ensign Peak Advisors, a Mormon-run “nonprofit fund” created in 1997. Now worth $100 billion, the fund is twice the size of Harvard’s endowment or The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Nielsen told 60 Minutes “I thought we were gonna change the world. And we just grew the bank account.” He resigned from his position in 2019 after links were revealed between church members and shell companies that held billions of dollars in stocks and bonds that were actually controlled by Ensign Peak. The Securities and Exchange Commission has said that the church went to great lengths to hide the size of its investments through shell companies and fake office addresses.
What Else?
Uh oh, America’s decayer, Rudy Giuliani, is in the news again. Former employee Noelle Dunphy has filed a 70-page harassment lawsuit detailing how he sexually exploited her. Allegations against Giuliani include forcing her to work naked and making her perform oral sex on him while he talked on the phone, sometimes with Donald Trump on the other line. She also says Rudy bragged that he and Trump were selling pardons for millions of dollars (!) and splitting the money (!!!).
The digital director for Rep Paul Gosar (R-AZ) turns out to be a prominent follower of neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes. Gosar, who gave the keynote last year at the Nick Fuentes-hosted America First Political Action Conference must be SHOCKED.
Religiously indoctrinated parents had a meltdown after a 5th-grade teacher showed the 2022 Disney movie Strange World which boasts a gay character. Their worry? Indoctrination, of course.
The U.S. border has seen fewer migrant-crossings than expected after Title 42 expired. Officials claim there’s been a 50 percent drop in asylum seekers since the days before the border restriction policy ended.
The most hated man in football that isn’t named Aaron Rogers, Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder, loses his death grip on the team. Without clicking the link, you already know the new owner is another white guy.
The Supreme Court rejected Alabama's bid to execute a death-row inmate by lethal injection, leaving in place a lower-court ruling that his preference for lethal gas is a viable alternative method. President Biden has selected cancer surgeon (and patient) Dr. Monica M. Bertagnolli, who has led the National Cancer Institute since October, to be the next director of the National Institutes of Health. America’s Next Top Kyle Rittenhouse has a new winner. Donors have kicked in over a million dollars for Subway Choker’s defense fund. An American citizen charged with spying in China has received a life sentence. While we were focusing on brain injuries in the NFL, a Colorado Rockies pitcher suffered a fractured skull after being hit with a line drive this weekend. Krysten Sinema is running marathons and a grift, simultaneously, using her attendance at races to raise a little money and get heavily pampered. College graduates are leaving coastal cities. I guess they have to go to wherever their parent's basements are located.
Be Smarter
While the world’s richest weirdos are focused on escaping to outer space as the world melts, the world’s smartest weirdos are focused on living underwater. After all, that’s where all of this is headed, right?
U.S. researcher Joseph Dituri has broken a record of 73 days of underwater living and doesn’t plan on surfacing until he hits the 100-day mark. He’s staying in Jules’ Undersea Lodge (named after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea author Jules Verne) at the bottom of a 30-foot deep lagoon near Key Largo, FL. Dituri says it's been pretty chill but he eats microwaved salmon down there so you be the judge.
The previous record was achieved in the same lodge by two professors in 2014.
It’s not just a vacation as he has continued to teach classes online. The goal seems to be more of an effort to raise awareness than to actually build a real-life Atlantis, although that is something the professor would like to see. “The idea here is to populate the world’s oceans, to take care of them by living in them and really treating them well,” Dituri said. It's pretty refreshing to see some educational benefits from a stunt like this. It’s as if a David Blaine “magic trick” actually had scientific merit. You can follow Dituri’s countdown to his resurfacing on
his website. The thing he’s most excited to see upon his return to land? The sun. Makes sense but a salmon-cooking oven was probably a close second.

2023.05.16 11:29 metalbraces09 Orthodontist in Coral Springs, FL
| When it comes to achieving a straight, healthy smile, residents of Coral Springs, FL, are fortunate to have access to a wide range of dental specialists. Among them, orthodontists play a vital role in correcting misaligned teeth and jaw irregularities. If you're looking for an Orthodontist in Coral Springs, FL, you can rely on John Orthodontics; they have the expertise to transform your smile and boost your confidence. In this article, we will explore the importance of orthodontic treatment, the services offered by orthodontists, and how they can help you achieve the smile of your dreams. What is an orthodontist? Orthodontists are dental professionals who specialize in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental and facial irregularities. After completing their general dental education, orthodontists undergo an additional two to three years of specialized training to gain expertise in orthodontics. This training equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to correct issues such as crowded or crooked teeth, gaps, and malocclusions (bite problems). Services Provided by Orthodontists Here are some of the key services provided by orthodontists: - Comprehensive Orthodontic Evaluation: During the initial consultation, orthodontists conduct a thorough evaluation of the patient's teeth, jaw, and facial structure. This assessment may involve X-rays, photographs, and impressions to accurately diagnose orthodontic needs. Based on the evaluation, the orthodontist creates a personalized treatment plan.
- Traditional Braces: Traditional braces are a widely known and effective orthodontic treatment. They consist of metal brackets and wires that gradually move teeth into their proper positions over time. Orthodontists use advanced materials and techniques to ensure the best results. While metal braces are visible, they are highly efficient in correcting various dental issues.
- Clear Aligners: Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, have gained popularity in recent years due to their discreet and comfortable nature. These transparent, custom-made aligners are worn over the teeth and gently shift them into alignment. Clear aligners offer the advantage of being removable, making eating and oral hygiene easier.
- Retainers: After completing active orthodontic treatment, orthodontists provide retainers to maintain the achieved results. Retainers help prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions. Depending on individual needs, retainers can be removable or fixed. Orthodontists guide patients on how often to wear retainers to ensure long-term success.
- Orthognathic Surgery: In some cases, orthodontic treatment may involve orthognathic surgery. This procedure corrects severe jaw irregularities and misalignments that cannot be addressed solely with braces or aligners. Orthodontists work in collaboration with oral and maxillofacial surgeons to plan and execute surgery for comprehensive treatment.
- Early Orthodontic Treatment: Orthodontists recommend early intervention for children to identify and address potential orthodontic issues. Early orthodontic treatment can guide jaw growth, create space for permanent teeth, and correct bite problems at an optimal stage. This proactive approach often leads to more successful and shorter orthodontic treatment in the future.
- Oral Health Education: Orthodontists play a vital role in educating patients about oral health, hygiene practices, and how to care for their braces or aligners. They provide guidance on brushing, flossing, and maintaining good oral hygiene throughout the treatment process. Patient education helps promote long-term oral health and overall well-being.
What to Expect During Orthodontic Treatment Orthodontic treatment typically lasts 12–24 months. During treatment, you will need to visit your orthodontist for regular checkups and adjustments. The frequency of your visits will depend on the type of orthodontic treatment you are receiving. In addition to your regular visits to the orthodontist, there are a few things you can do to help make your orthodontic treatment as smooth as possible: - Brush and floss your teeth regularly. This will help to prevent plaque buildup and gum disease.
- Avoid eating hard or sticky foods. These foods can damage your braces or aligners.
- Wear your retainer as instructed by your orthodontist. Your retainer is essential to keeping your teeth in their new positions after treatment is complete.
Conclusion When it comes to finding an orthodontist in Coral Springs, FL, John Orthodontics is the trusted choice. With state-of-the-art facilities, a comprehensive range of services, a personalized treatment approach, and a compassionate team, they are dedicated to transforming smiles and boosting patients' confidence. Whether it's traditional braces, Invisalign, or other orthodontic treatments, Dr. John and his team are committed to delivering exceptional results. Coral Springs residents can rely on John Orthodontics for all their orthodontic needs. 2023.05.03 19:01 CruxHub The Citadel Empire, revisited. Let's review prior findings, new information, and see why, besides Ken Griffin’s connection to GameStop, he and Citadel are emblematic of greater issues around transparency and influence of the billionaire elite.
| Hey Apes, Crux here. I’m here to talk about what I call the Citadel Empire: the network of business entities built by, and the people surrounding, the now infamous Kenneth Cordele Griffin. https://preview.redd.it/cg2ar1c19nxa1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ed1273eb8225b14e73e35e2f95bea87850a3119 It’s a tangled web. I will recap some prior DD’s, show you a few new pieces of information I’ve found, and talk about some bigger issues that I have become aware of through this research. Original DD I became very interested in Ken Griffin’s companies when a post by “behavior girl” on "Aviation Backed Securities" revealed a company owned by Ken, KP Holdings LLC, which his private jet was registered to. I wanted to see what else was in the public record, and I started digging. I will not rehash all my posts in detail here; each has been an evolution of my research to understand Ken Griffin’s businesses. My first posts in August 2021 began with developing a network map of the Citadel Empire, and I figured out Ken Griffin was a butterfly lover and maintained a family office, despite the internet claiming otherwise (check the pinned posts on my profile, it was in another sub). I continued digging. I began researching Ken’s real estate deals and I found Citadel was taking new loans from major banks, just like they had in the 2008 financial crisis. Things got spicier. I discovered Ken gave £1M to a member of the UK Parliament through shell companies, which is potentially a crime under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), a law which prohibits US citizens and companies from bribing foreign government officials for their benefit. I even found a household manager Ken Griffin employed, linking him with Leslie Wexner and Mort Zuckerman, two fellow billionaires implicated in Jeffrey Epstein’s sordid affairs. They’re being subpoenaed in the US Virgin Islands v. JP Morgan lawsuit. Source 1. Source 2. Earlier this year I posted a list of 500+ entities linked to Ken Griffin, all from public records. In compiling this list I found that the structure of the Citadel Empire has changed since I started my investigation over 18 months ago. What We’ve Learned Citadel has evolved since its founding by Ken Griffin in 1990, though the general structure of its two business lines, a hedge fund and a market maker, have been in place for over 15 years. Combined with Ken’s personal holdings this is the highest-level, most basic depiction of the Citadel Empire I could come up with: https://preview.redd.it/b6rrzeuw9nxa1.png?width=634&format=png&auto=webp&s=171ceca4255ac9127f2507dafa17643f8e5595b7 Citadel Advisors (the hedge fund) is almost wholly owned by Ken Griffin. This ownership structure is disclosed in various corporate records filed with FINRA, the SEC, and elsewhere. Let’s work from their Form ADV filed with FINRA. First, the “direct” owners: https://preview.redd.it/5wfzxiyy9nxa1.png?width=1136&format=png&auto=webp&s=89de63e532071873d8295994ebea9ac4902df0c4 https://files.adviserinfo.sec.gov/IAPD/content/viewform/adv/Sections/iapd_AdvScheduleASection.aspx?ORG_PK=148826&FLNG_PK=03D2E09E000801CD029D8E4104433A21056C8CC0 And the “indirect” owners: https://preview.redd.it/e4ovpn70anxa1.png?width=1122&format=png&auto=webp&s=ff2085053e0ba499e6411088b6512505bfa4a39d https://files.adviserinfo.sec.gov/IAPD/content/viewform/adv/Sections/iapd_AdvScheduleBSection.aspx?ORG_PK=148826&FLNG_PK=03D2E09E000801CD029D8E4104433A21056C8CC0 This is how these two tables of word salad combine into one visual: https://preview.redd.it/nkto4ys1anxa1.png?width=664&format=png&auto=webp&s=aad8eb449f7806cd8bea965b5cfd9e5e347881a5 Citadel Advisors is the portfolio manager to a series of funds, which in turn are feeder funds or pooled investment vehicles, which are made up of US-based LLCs, and offshore-based companies so foreign investors don’t get hit with US tax liabilities… My eyes are glazing over just writing this, let’s move on. Sidenote on “offshore” companies: Having subsidiaries in “offshore” jurisdictions is not illegal; rather institutional investors and corporations have the resources to hire the best tax lawyers and accountants to do everything possible to legally minimize their taxes. A 2017 study found 73% of the Fortune 500 had subsidiaries in tax havens, holding over $2.6 trillion in accumulated profits offshore for tax purposes. However, the use of tax havens to evade taxes and hide wealth from taxing authorities is becoming more widely known since the release of the Panama Papers, Luxembourg Leaks, and other investigations by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and their partner news organizations. Another aspect of Citadel Advisors I found interesting is their fee structure, which differs from the industry standard “2 & 20”, or 2% of assets (a management/overhead fee) and 20% of profit (performance fee). Instead, Citadel Advisors charges more. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2009 that, prior to the financial crisis, the firm charged a 6-9% management fee, plus the 20% performance fee, plus another 0.25% fee for back office work performed by another Citadel subsidiary. It was reported in 2017 that “pass-through” fees were 5-10% of assets, plus the 20% performance fee. Separate companies provide these “services” that are passed through as fees to the funds. For example, Citadel HF Management (Europe) LLP’s latest accounts filing in the UK show it charged $2 billion in service fees to related parties in 2022 for "investment management activities." amounts are in thousands Citadel Securities (the market maker) has a similar ownership structure as Citadel Advisors, with extra layers. The firm’s profile on FINRA ( https://files.brokercheck.finra.org/firm/firm\_116797.pdf) provides equally confusing disclosures, which I won’t post in full here. https://preview.redd.it/c2k65sk9anxa1.png?width=492&format=png&auto=webp&s=7d10430f117b03dd3a386981533e6b18b0bc386c Here is the ownership structure visualized: https://preview.redd.it/cjksez3fanxa1.png?width=815&format=png&auto=webp&s=c7514fce8eb927c9d82871242d6fe7a21301efdb I won’t dive further into Citadel Securities; there are further subsidiaries for Citadel Securities Americas, Citadel Securities Europe, clearing, back office services, etc. Griffin’s Personal Holdings This is where I find things get really interesting. I mentioned KP Holdings LLC at the start of this post; it was my entry into the Citadel Empire. At the end of 2022 Griffin converted KP Holdings LLC, an Oregon company, to KPRE Holdings LLC, a Delaware company. https://preview.redd.it/75nu1nuganxa1.png?width=899&format=png&auto=webp&s=994817524e38c271d634d1766321c0eb2fb54ccf KPRE Holdings’ most recent filing in Florida revealed a new authorized signatory. https://preview.redd.it/n721nanianxa1.png?width=693&format=png&auto=webp&s=fd4f89414aab90e4d1c8db95047d0b2bed05f971 Very interesting! I have rarely seen anyone besides Gerald Beeson on Ken Griffin’s personal business filings. (Gerald Beeson joined Citadel in 1993 and currently serves as COO, everything I have seen points to him being Ken’s right-hand man). Looking into Tom Waller, I found that not only did Ken Griffin’s Citadel displace Ray Dalio’s Bridgewater Associates in 2022 as the most successful hedge fund of all time, but Ken hired a 9-year veteran of the Dalio Family Office too. https://preview.redd.it/woldb7c79nxa1.png?width=370&format=png&auto=webp&s=1ea502d2947fb6f65938a02c5a7b2821ac43f145 So, Ken is adding an official family office manager to his roster. Ken structures his personal holdings similar to Citadel Advisors and Citadel Securities. There are several “top level” entities which hold similar types of assets. For example, KPRE Holdings / KP Holdings is the “top level” entity which holds Ken Griffin’s real estate. A quick search of Florida’s business records show the many LLCs it holds. I won’t detail the underlying real estate held by these entities in this post. https://preview.redd.it/53dk6mqlanxa1.png?width=604&format=png&auto=webp&s=307c568dd2396f4f15cc769b4ca2348f57cedb80 https://preview.redd.it/fjg9c5ymanxa1.png?width=616&format=png&auto=webp&s=b1e050c62fab21df1d763b8e4d8e1e8f746cedd5 Tip: Are you interested in checking out some of these records yourself? Search the Florida Division of Corporations records here: https://dos.myflorida.com/sunbiz/search/ Type kp holdings or kpre holdings into the “Officer / Registered Agent” search to get the results above. Note results may change over time as new filings are recorded. https://preview.redd.it/ow8vrg6oanxa1.png?width=579&format=png&auto=webp&s=3942567f097bcd098b5097f9e88aeaf9442e5c9e Ken’s jets are registered to KP Holdings and other personal entities - not any Citadel entities. I would assume Ken charges Citadel any time the company uses them. Part of those “pass-through” fees getting charged to mom ‘n pop pension fund holders that Ken is so, so, worried about. Like Citadel Advisors and Citadel Securities, there are “service” companies used to manage the various personal assets. GFS LLC (f/k/a Griffin Family Services LLC) is the primary service company Ken uses for US-based matters. This entity employs nannies, household managers, etc. Another entity, GFS II Limited, is based in the UK and appears to run the $120 million house Griffin owns in London. Despite the apparent separation between business and personal, there is commingling. One example is the work a former Citadel IT executive describes in their LinkedIn bio (I won’t name them here). https://preview.redd.it/4b5ylva99nxa1.png?width=655&format=png&auto=webp&s=0b6f7d9bf7b6a03c687cedc710511c5e5c2ace5a So not only did this guy do work for Citadel and Griffin Family Services, but he also worked for: - Anne Dias Griffin’s hedge fund
- Galaxie Financial, a company owned by Frank C. Meyer, who gave Ken his start in Chicago
- Ken and Anne’s charitable foundation
- Reboot Media (a/k/a Reboot Illinois), a political journalism website formed by Anne Dias in 2012 and sold in 2016
- GreenLeaf Funds (haven’t been able to confirm the relation to Citadel)
I wonder if mom ‘n pop pension fund investors were paying this person’s salary too? Another fun fact: Griffin Family Services also charged over $230k to The Kenneth and Anne Griffin Foundation between 2013 and 2014. Hmm… 2013 2014 Source: https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/364747915 The attachments noted the payments to Griffin Family Services were “Reported as authorized under IRS announcement 2001-33.” Given the relatively small amount I’ve not dug into what this means, but thought it was interesting nonetheless. The list goes on. My prior posts linked above, or in my profile, have many more details. Feel free to ask about any of them. Here’s where the rubber really meets the road I’ve learned a lot over the last 18 months. Not just about Ken Griffin, Citadel, or the markets, but about the massive influence the uber-wealthy exert on the world. Billionaires use their money to impact elections, change (or keep stagnant) regulations, and shape the mainstream media (MSM) narrative to keep public perception in their favor. You’re probably saying right now, “No shit, Sherlock.” The Citadel Empire is just one example of this influence, and in the rest of this post I will tie some of what I’ve found researching the Citadel Empire to the tactics used by billionaires to exert their influence. I am always open to other points of view, feedback, and of course tips that can lead me down news rabbit holes. And I’ll leave some extra materials in the comments. Why This Matters Today / How This Applies Today A common criticism in my prior postings on Ken Griffin and the Citadel Empire is, “how does this apply to GME?” This is a fair question, and my responses could have been better articulated so I will address that here. Besides Ken Griffin’s obvious connection to GameStop through the House Financial Services Committee hearing, Citadel as a short seller of GME prior to the January 2021 squeeze, and Citadel Securities the designated market maker of GME, the Citadel Empire can be representative of, in my opinion, a far bigger issue. Transparency in the United States’ stock markets is a focus of this subreddit. Transparency has an impact on not just the shareholders of GameStop, but all market participants (especially individual investors). Dark pools, naked short selling, fails to deliver, etc… i.e. price discovery. These are big issues, and I applaud individual investors in and outside this sub who advocate for change. I am also an advocate for other transparency issues, which are more wide-ranging than the stock markets. I am speaking specifically of transparency (and lack thereof) around the world which leads to tax abuse, dark money political contributions and money laundering that enables worse crimes like human trafficking. An elite class of billionaires control much of the world's resources. In 2020 it was found that just 2,153 billionaires have more wealth than 4.6 billion people on the planet. But this wealth inequality is hard to measure, due to the laws shielding disclosure of the true beneficial owners of companies across numerous jurisdictions around the world. And in many instances the tactics used by these billionaires to acquire and hide these assets are legal. Does that bother you? Tax Justice Network ranks the United States at the top of their Financial Secrecy Index, “a ranking of jurisdictions most complicit in helping individuals to hide their finances from the rule of law.” https://fsi.taxjustice.net/ Delaware is one of the worst offenders, “a state that has fewer than a million residents… But it has 1.6 million companies registered there...” Source. Transparency is a real-time battle. Just last week the United States’ Federal Elections Commission voted to no longer confirm or deny even the existence of complaints anymore. Political contributions by hedge funds are on the rise: https://preview.redd.it/ug8z7wgf9nxa1.png?width=681&format=png&auto=webp&s=95afd903b59dcbe78b6c6cb26fea7b533b120234 This is just what is reported. Are there other “dark money” contributions also being made? An example of dark money flowing into politics is Jeffrey Yass, who doesn’t get enough attention on this sub. In this post I dissected an article written by investigative journalist Nettanel Slyomovics published by Haaretz in March 2021, showing how Yass and his friends are behind the scenes and obscure their contributions to Israeli politics by abusing paperwork loopholes. Billionaire Harlan Crow is wrapped up in a scandal involving Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas, who traveled with Crow on vacations and sold property to Crow, amongst other previously undisclosed transactions. (Crow is also reportedly a dual citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis, another tax and secrecy haven.) Media control is another major issue. We’ve seen first hand the constant stream of “sell GameStop” articles, or more major breaking news stories from “reputable” news organizations like the Wall Street Journal that break stories on GameStop based on “a source familiar with the matter”, that happen to coincide with other, positive events for the company. Last year The Guardian published a list of billionaires who “use their wealth in the hope of extending their political influence” though it has also been found that the 100 wealthiest US billionaires stay almost entirely silent on political issues, instead resorting to other means of “secret influence” like those discussed above. See more on this secret influence and “stealth politics” here. Now you may be asking yourself, “Crux, this was supposed to be a post about Ken Griffin. Is he doing anything shady like this?” I’m glad you asked. Let’s walk through a few stories and you can decide. But first, let’s start with a quote from Griffin. In 2012 he told the Chicago Tribune’s Melissa Harris that the ultrawealthy “have an insufficient influence” on the political process. In the interview he also “reveals how the fallout from the 2008 financial crisis changed his industry's relationship with government — and not to his liking.” Griffin has “responded by giving millions of dollars to candidates and political groups that support his belief in limited government.” Ken’s interest in politics began even before his trading career started at Harvard in 1987. In 1985, then a senior at Boca Raton High School, Griffin attended a balanced-budget focused City Hall event which included a Q&A session with Florida's U.S. Senator Lawton Chiles. Griffin reportedly questioned Senator Chiles, “whether bonuses could be awarded to federal agencies spending less than their allotment.” Senator Chiles said it was a great idea but he would have to do some research. Griffin reportedly left disappointed; feeling the senator was unprepared and earlier budget exercise at the event “did nothing to increase Griffin's respect for our elected leaders.” Source from the Sun-Sentinel, including quotes from Griffin. I was also able to clip from the print edition of Boca Raton News, another local news outlet that covered the event. Though the event was taped on C-Span it appears to have not been maintained by the National Archives. https://preview.redd.it/28k6djnj9nxa1.png?width=666&format=png&auto=webp&s=ad18fa4f4a2d065cb9a79d88f483c4c6547e65f4 Did the 2008 financial crisis really change Griffin’s relationship with government? - - - Ken Griffin’s massive political donations are well publicized. Less well publicized is his long-running association with conservative like Charles and David Koch. In the 2012 interview linked above, Griffin disclosed he had contributed $1.5 million to the Koch’s organization Americans for Prosperity, and he “[has] tremendous respect for their intellectual and financial commitment to embracing a set of economic policies that will give us global competitiveness.” A tactic used by the Koch network is to fund political think tanks that then produce research favorable to their point of view. It’s not just Kochs or conservatives, there are a host of these think tanks across the political spectrum. And Griffin might be doing the same. In this post I detailed evidence that Ken may be forming his own “Griffin Catalyst” political think tank. - - - Griffin supported Bruce Rauner’s winning 2014 campaign for governor of Illinois, reportedly spending $5.5 million and giving free use of his private plane. Rauner was a client of Griffin’s at the time, investing in two Citadel funds: https://preview.redd.it/4h7ux0hn9nxa1.png?width=517&format=png&auto=webp&s=a486bb81c63ddc77ef6f72fefd2caf84e6aa50f4 Source: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/841890-gubernatorial-candidates-statements-of-economic Rauner maintained his investments during his tenure as governor. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4911720-Rauner-2018-Economic-Interest-Form https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4117223-Bruce-Rauner-Economic-Interest-2017 Is this a conflict of interest? Perhaps. At least it was disclosed. But does it make you uncomfortable? - - - The “ revolving door” is an issue of regulators leaving the government to work directly for the companies they have regulated, as lobbyists for those companies, or for the law firms and other consultants who are hired by those companies. The issue has been covered somewhat on this sub, so I will show you only briefly how Citadel is a master of it. Citadel hired Ben Bernanke, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, as a senior advisor in 2015. Janet Yellen, who Citadel paid $810,000 for speaking fees, is now Secretary of the Treasury. Yellen and Bernanke both currently serve on the Advisory Board of Yale’s Program on Financial Stability. Perhaps, through this relationship, Citadel can get some “early thinking” on Treasury’s agenda, or perhaps Bernanke can “suggest” agenda items of his own. There are other examples of Citadel hiring regulators: - Heath Tarbert, former CFTC Chairman and Chief Executive
- Daniel J. Grimm, former CFTC Senior Counsel to the Chairman
- Gregg Berman, former SEC Associate Director, Division of Trading and Markets
- Stephen Luparello, former SEC Director, Division of Trading and Markets
Probably nothing. - - - One company under Griffin’s personal umbrella is the generically named “Media Holdings LLC”. Though boring in name, this entity is anything but. Media Holdings LLC is the shell company through which Ken Griffin passed £1M to a member of the UK Parliament. The third person involved in this business is Sir Lynton Crosby, an Australian political strategist who now works in the UK and elsewhere, including through CT Group which he co-founded. Crosby and CT Group are deep into UK politics. The Guardian reported in June 2022 that Crosby, “has been attending Boris Johnson’s 8.30am meetings in No 10, showing he is more involved in the prime minister’s decision making than previously thought.” The next month Claire Rewcastle-Brown, who runs Sarawak Report, (she broke the 1MDB scandal) reported on Crosby’s plan for Boris Johnson to “pack the house of lords,” dubbed “Project Homer.” The Guardian also reported in October 2022 that Mark Fullbrook, formerly of CT Group (when it was CTF Partners) still held a stake in the consulting firm while simultaneously working as chief of staff to Liz Truss, who took the PM role after Boris Johnson resigned. CT Group is no stranger to pushing misinformation through social media: CT Group was also involved in a series of unbranded Facebook pages that appeared to be a grassroots campaign for a hard Brexit in 2019. The campaign, which involved spending up to £1m of money from an unknown source on Facebook adverts, helped push Theresa May out of power and sow the seeds for the election of Boris Johnson as prime minister. The company has previously set up a network of websites that appeared to be independent news outlets but were actually lobbying fronts paid for by clients. Reuben Solomon, the CT Group employee who administered some of the apparent news pages, is now a special adviser to Truss and runs Downing Street’s digital campaigns. All of this begs the question: what the fuck is Ken Griffin doing in business with these people? - - - Ken Griffin recently gave $300 million to Harvard, bringing his total donations to the private university to over $500 million. Interestingly, Harvard’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to the university found he was involved in the same Graduate School of Arts and Sciences which Ken just donated to. As to Epstein’s appointment as a Visiting Fellow, the initial appointment occurred in 2005, before Epstein’s arrest. The Visiting Fellow designation is now, as it was in 2005, granted to an independent researcher registered with Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as a graduate research student. Surely just a coincidence. But one has to wonder: what is the calculus going on in Ken’s head to make this specific donation, versus others? Is the renaming of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences worth $300 million? Why does he want his name in the news about this donation at this time? Are there other ways $300 million could have supported the arts and sciences, besides an elite graduate program at Harvard? Perhaps Griffin heard the negative publicity, as he just made a donation to his now local Miami-Dade College… for $20 million, or 1 / 15th the amount he gave Harvard. - - - There are wide range of topics around issues of transparency, and they go much deeper than what I can describe here. I do not want to distract from our focus on GameStop or the important goals of market structure reform and creating an even playing field for individual investors. However, there are intertwining issues, led by the same elite billionaires, which I believe must be understood and considered in this massive, multi-dimensional chess game. You may want to shout “CRIME!”, but what feels to us like crime is also the overly complex system of regulations with their esoteric exceptions and exemptions these people have set up that allows this to legally happen. If this makes you feel uncomfortable then I hope you consider learning more, gathering facts, and shedding light on these systems that you feel are wrong. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to this discussion. submitted by CruxHub to Superstonk [link] [comments] |
2023.05.02 14:40 kittehgoesmeow What A Day: Bank Shot by Julia Claire & Crooked Media (05/01/23)
"Abraham Lincoln was just vilified. Now they say Trump got treated the worst of all." - Disgraced former president Donald Trump talking about how a guy who was murdered in office had it better than him Don't Bank On It
I know, I know: The economy. Again. - The World Economic Forum held its annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland last week, where all of the globe’s leading scary-rich people gathered to talk about what’s supposedly in store for the global economy (a.k.a. which demographics they’ve decided are wholly expendable). Their report, released on Sunday, estimated that employers will create 69 million new jobs by 2027 and eliminate 83 million, for a net loss of 14 million jobs, or two percent of the current global workforce.
- There are several competing factors behind these projections. The ever-accelerating shift to renewable-energy systems will continue creating jobs at an impressive clip, but those effects will be offset by persistent inflation and slower economic growth in other sectors. Artificial-intelligence tools present a double-edged sword: Companies will need workers to help implement and manage the technology, but the proliferation of A.I. will also put an untold number of jobs at risk. According to these projections, there could be 26 million fewer administrative jobs by 2027. But the “Will workers be replaced by robots?” debate is as old as industrialization itself, and it’s important to remember that technology is not in the driver’s seat. Humans control technology, and any changes it makes to employing will reflect choices by those in power.
- Adding to global fears of rising unemployment is the knowledge that in the United States, Federal Reserve officials are on track to increase interest rates yet again at their meeting this week as part of the fastest rate-raising cycle in 40 years. How close we are to the end of the line for these staggering rate hikes is a matter of internal debate within the Fed. Should interest rates increase by another .25 percent, it would take the federal benchmark to a 16-year high, up from nearly-zero in March 2022.
Compounding the gloom hanging over the global economy? Honey, it’s the banks. - Well, it’s a few banks in particular. Following its failure back in March, regulators officially seized First Republic Bank and sold its assets to JPMorgan Chase on Monday in order to limit federal losses from the largest bank failure since the 2008 financial crisis. Major banking institutions like JP Morgan already enjoyed a boost after First Republic and Silicon Valley Bank’s failures, when droves of depositors panicked over the prospect of more mid-sized banks collapsing, then again last week when the public learned that First Republic saw more than $100 billion in outflows in the first quarter of this year.
- What we’ve known for months now based on the failures of Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic, then the faltering of Credit Suisse in Europe, is that the ground is not stable. Former Goldman Sachs executive and Donald Trump’s NEC director Gary Cohn (so, you know, take the following with a grain of salt) said, “There will be other issues out there in the banking world,” and many experts see even tighter credit conditions ahead that will continue to weigh heavily on consumer spending, which comprises 68 percent of all economic activity.
These developments will fit into a fuller context by week’s end. Between the Fed’s interest-rates decision, a highly-anticipated earnings report from Apple, and a new monthly employment report from the Labor Department, we might soon know whether the Davos plutocrats are on to something or (once again) talking out of their asses.

Documents obtained by the Associated Press show that two hospitals that refused to provide an emergency abortion to a pregnant woman who was experiencing premature labor put her life in jeopardy, violating federal law. The documents stem from an unprecedented investigation by the federal government in the wake of last year’s
Dobbs ruling and represent a shot across the bow of hospitals around the country as they struggle to reconcile barbaric state laws that ban or severely restrict abortions with the federal mandate that doctors must provide abortions to patients at severe health risk. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said of the case, “Fortunately, this patient survived, But she never should have gone through the terrifying ordeal she experienced in the first place,” and promised to “investigate and enforce the law to the fullest extent of our legal authority, in accordance with orders from the courts.” The case centers around a Missouri woman whose water broke early at 17 weeks of pregnancy, and even though doctors at both hospitals (in Missouri and Kansas) told her that the fetus would not survive and that she was at risk of developing a serious infection or losing her uterus, they would not terminate the pregnancy because a fetal heartbeat was still detectable. Ultimately, the woman was forced to travel to an abortion clinic in Illinois. This case echoes stories that have poured in from women across the country who have been turned away from hospitals for abortions, despite doctors telling them that continuing their toxic, unviable pregnancies untreated would put them at additional risk for infection, or could even be fatal.
What Else?
Welp, a new estimate from the Treasury Department anticipates that the U.S. government could default on its loans “as early as June 1” unless Congress raises the debt ceiling. Thanks, Kevin McCarthy! Great stuff!
A new study based on a Chinese rover suggests that water may be more widespread and recently-available on Mars than previously thought. Federal Judge Greg Guidry has decided to recuse himself in the New Orleans Roman Catholic Church bankruptcy case after it was revealed that he has donated tens of thousands of dollars to the archdiocese and consistently ruled in favor of the church in a case involving nearly 500 victims of sexual abuse at the hands of the clergy. State and federal authorities still have not captured a Texas man who killed five of his neighbors with an AR-15 style rifle, all of whom were Honduran immigrants. At this time, the killer is believed to be 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza.
Florida’s Disney oversight board, a group hand-selected by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), is counter-suing Disney in state court, after Disney sued the state and accused the DeSantis government of illegally using its powers to punish the company for its vocal opposition to the “Don’t Say Gay” law, further escalating tensions between the two powerhouses. The Allied Pilots Association (APA), representing 15,000 American Airlines pilots, said on Monday that its members have approved a strike mandate ahead of the summer travel boom to put pressure on the airline for higher salaries and better working conditions. Film and television studios are running out the clock trying to avert a worker strike in the Writers Guild of America, which would be the first such action by the WGA in 15 years. Studios are making record profits and most writers are working at minimums and can’t afford even middle-class lives—seems pretty simple to me!

Dr. Geoffrey Hinton is sometimes referred to as “The Godfather of A.I.” because of his pioneering work in artificial intelligence. Back in 2012, Hinton and two of his graduate students at the University of Toronto created the technological foundation for the A.I. systems that have already begun revolutionizing the tech industry.
But on Monday, he announced that he quit his job at Google, where he has worked for over a decade, so that he can freely voice his concerns about risks he sees in the technology. Like something out of a sci-fi novel, industry insiders believe releasing generative A.I. into the wild has already proven dangerous. A.I. as it exists currently can be used for misinformation. It could soon pose a serious risk to a huge swaths of jobs, and some believe it could even pose a true risk to humanity down the line. In March, more than 1,000 technology leaders and researchers signed an open letter calling for a six-month moratorium on the development of new systems following OpenAI’s release of ChatGPT. Days later, current and former leaders of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence released their own letter warning of the risks of A.I. Among them was Eric Horvitz, the chief scientific officer at Microsoft, which has already deployed OpenAI’s technology across a wide range of the company’s products.
Following Hinton’s departure, Google’s chief scientist Jeff Dean released a statement saying that the company remains “committed to a responsible approach to A.I.” and is “continually learning to understand emerging risks while also innovating boldly.” Dr. Hinton and his collaborators received the Alan Turing Award in 2018—a distinction often compared to the Nobel Prize in the computing world—for their work on “neural networks.” But now, Hinton says he regrets some of his life’s work, and believes that in the immediate future, A.I. will flood the internet with false photos, videos, and text, and the average person will “not be able to know what is true anymore.” He believes global regulation is needed right away, and that the technology should not be scaled further until scientists understand whether or not they can control it. Since no for-profit industry has ever been successful in self-regulating, governments will have to step in before it’s too late. Okay happy Monday!

2023.04.28 13:42 Andre3000RPI Yahoo Morning Briefing
Friday, Apr 28 What we're watching - A check on the American consumer's spending habits: After a flurry of earnings reports this week, personal income, personal spending, and the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment numbers come out Friday, providing more color for consumer companies' outlooks.
- A few more big names to report earnings this week: The week has been largely shaped by Big Tech's strong earnings, but more is still to come. Exxon Mobil (XOM), Charter Communications (CHTR), Chevron (CVX), Colgate-Palmolive (CL), Gentex (GNTX), New York Community Bancorp (NCYB) all report Friday.
Follow all the action throughout the day on the Yahoo Finance Markets Blog. What we're reading - Why big banks are reluctant to rescue First Republic again: The embattled San Francisco lender is trying to persuade JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Bank of America (BAC) and other giant financial institutions to help First Republic survive another crisis of confidence. One option is to purchase some of its underwater bonds at above-market rates. That means big banks would absorb the losses. What would they get in exchange? It's complicated.
- Netflix loses 1 million users in Spain amid password sharing crackdown: Netflix (NFLX) lost more than 1 million users in Spain as it rolled out its password-sharing crackdown in the country, according to new research from market analytics company Kantar. The data, which examined subscription trends from the first three months of the year, found that out of the 1 million-plus users who left the platform, two-thirds were sharing passwords, with the number of cancellations tripling compared to the year-ago period.
- Mark Zuckerberg says AI boosts monetization by 30% on Instagram, 40% on Facebook: Further integration of A.I. helped drive Meta’s first revenue increase in three quarters, the company said this week. Reels monetization is up over 30% on Instagram and over 40% on Facebook on a quarterly basis as A.I. plays a larger role in the platforms.

Note: Data is as of the time of opening this email. To view real-time markets data click here. Why the market loves food stocks right now Today's Takeaway is by Brian Sozzi, Yahoo Finance's Executive Editor. Follow Sozzi on Twitter @BrianSozzi and on LinkedIn. There is one trade being devoured by investors right now — and no, it's not shorting First Republic (
FRC).
It's the food trade.
From
restaurant stocks such as Chipotle (
CMG) to servers of soda in PepsiCo (
PEP) to hawkers of chocolate like Hershey (
HSY), the market has fallen in love with food stocks. These have been some of the best-performing stocks this week.
And investors are correct in bidding these names up, judging by how the first half of the year is shaping up for the sector. Consider some of the tailwinds for the food space:
- Inflation is slowing for input costs, which is great for margins.
- Resistance to rounds of price increases has been generally limited, which is also great for margins.
- Recovery stories are playing out in China for multinational names such as PepsiCo.
"You may not be able to go out and get a new car," PepsiCo vice chairman and CFO
Hugh Johnston said on Yahoo Finance Live (video above). "You may not be able to go out and get a really fancy piece of technology. But you can afford a bag of Doritos, or you can afford a Gatorade Zero after you workout, or you can afford an energy drink in the morning."
Good point by Hugh. Do you ever look at how much you just spent on a bag of chips at a 7-11 or WaWa? Maybe, maybe not. But I would bet that bag of chips today is more than 10% higher in price than at this point last year. Maybe 20%, depending on the flavor.
You may not have even realized it, but the CFOs of consumer food companies did, and their shareholders are loving it. Expect more price increases from these giants this year in part because consumers don't appear to care.
Then there is another aspect of the food trade that is getting overlooked. While I will get ridiculed by my colleague
Julie Hyman for this statement, I believe we are in the golden age of food innovation.
The aforementioned Hershey is selling
Reese's snack cakes. Where was that 20 years ago? Meanwhile, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola (
KO) are in active rollouts of
ready-made alcoholic drinks after years of avoiding the space. Beer company Molson Coors (
TAP) has started to
sell whiskey with success. And Conagra Brands (
CAG) has made
frozen food taste great for maybe the first time ever.
Then there's McDonald's
rethinking how they cook a burger (thank goodness), Starbucks selling drinks with one inch of thick "
salted caramel cold foam," and Papa John's
launching a giant hot-pocket-like product this week that has a Doritos Cool Ranch coating. Even my local pizza joint just started selling "hot honey" chicken pizza. I went to a whiskey distillery last week and they are serving up whiskey infused with roasted coconuts. You may be laughing at all this as it's not similar to innovations at Tesla or Apple. But it is in fact innovation that helps drive higher price points on food and, over time, fatter profits and stock prices. Combine that with cooling inflation, and you have one heck of an earnings power story in the food sector.

2023.04.20 14:00 autotldr The violence ‘epidemic’ in Brazil’s schools: More than 1,200 cases under investigation
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 73%. (I'm a bot)
Brazil is experiencing an "Epidemic" of violence in schools, according to the Brazilian government.
At the meeting, Justice Minister Flávio Dino reported 225 people have been arrested in cases related to violent acts or plans to attack schools in just the last 10 days.
Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes linked the insurrection with the scourge of violence at schools, claiming they share the same modus operandi since social media has created a "Lawless land." One of the central ideas from the meeting was to tighten regulation online in a bid to prevent hate speech and to root out profiles that allow aggressors to grow a wide supporter base.
The Brazilian government was recently upset by the attitude of Twitter executives in Brazil, who showed little interest in moderating or removing content likely to encourage violence at schools.
The government announced that it will invest 3.1 billion reais to combat attacks in schools, with the focus on tracking and removing online calls for violence.
More than half of that amount may go to infrastructure to reinforce security at schools.

2023.04.04 04:06 hypermanatee1398 Does anyone think there's a case to be made for Nick Mira being the best producer of all time?
*Finally, was able to edit this, so to clarify like I said in the comments, this post is strictly taking into considering the best 21st century producers. Therefore, older producers like Dr. Dre, J Dilla, and more are excluded (hence why they were not brought up below).*
For context, I had an argument with my friend the other day talking about GOAT producers. His were people like Mike Dean, Zaytoven, etc. And, mine were more Taz Taylor, Sidepce, etc. For our ultimate GOATs, he said Metro Boomin, and I said Nick Mira. Now, don't get me wrong I 100% think that Metro Boomin is a more talented producer than Nick Mira. I think if you put them up in a beat battle together, they'd both make some great stuff, but Metro would ultimately win. However, what I was saying is a still believe that Nick is a better producer overall. The reason for this is because talent is not the only quality I believe should measure a GOATed producer. What I said was that Nick Mira in all probably has more placements than Metro, more reach in the underground (and just in general), and more people have definitely heard Nick Mira's music and instrumentals than Metro's I'd say. I know this might seem contradicted by that fact that Metro has two diamond certified songs to Nick Mira's one, but Nick has more platinum & gold records in total I believe (Nick has the quantity to Metro's quality imo). Despite this higher quantity, Nick Mira's beats are still heavily melodic, ambient, and beautiful sounding every time he opens FL studios it seems. He also has blown up more underground artists into the mainstream (he gave us people like Juice Wrld, Lil Tecca, Trippie Redd, XXXTentacion, Iann Dior, Poorstacy, 6ix9ine, and many more). If not for him, so many of these artists might not have made it, whereas Metro has focused almost entirely on making songs with already established artists. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just think Nick should get extra credit for his networking and executive producing and A&R skills as well. Nick Mira also is a label exec now with his Mira Touch label, and is actively trying to give back to the community (with still free beats posted on some of his sites, YouTube tutorials consistently, Twitch streams where people can watch him cookup, etc.). Not that Metro isn't doing this, but to a much smaller extend.
Anyways, the point I'm getting at is although I do think that Nick Mira is not as talented of a producer as say Zaytoven, Timbaland, Mike Dean, Metro, TM88, and other major established producers in the industry. I think he serves a unique purpose, and serves it so well that despite this moderate talent differential, he is still the greatest (or at least one of the greatest) producers of all time. However, I want to get other's opinion on this as well. What do you guys think, and does anyone else agree or disagree, and why?
*For those of you are a lot older than I expected, Nick Mira is a RIAA diamond certified producer (this is a milestone only about 50 producers have ever achieved, so you should at least know who he is). He has been one of the most influencing / driving forces in the past 10 years of modern day hip-hop / mainstream music. Him and his labels Internet Money and MiraTouch have signed artists that have amassed over billions upon billions of streams, and he currently holds the title of most streamed song on SoundCloud (which for those of you even older guys who may not know, that's a major music streaming service (probably one of the top 5 to top 10 right now)). He won producer of the year in 2020 just 5 years after he started producing, and has produced songs for artists like Drake, Future, Juice Wrld, Lil Tecca, and so much more. If you haven't even heard of him before, I would recommend at least checking out some of the songs he has produced, as well as his influence before slandering him here, thanks.*
