The Walt Disney Company once again invites audiences to travel under the sea to see Princess Ariel's story unfold like never before. Featuring direction from veteran musical filmmaker Rob Marshall and other roles inhabited by major Hollywood stars like Melissa McCarthy as Ursula the Sea Witch and Javier Bardem as King Triton, the film is bound to be a bona fide hit at the box office.

Though the upcoming and highly anticipated film will have stiff competition against two stand-up comedians on the weekend it releases, The Little Mermaid is destined to show that life is better down where it's wetter under the sea this Summer movie season. To find showtimes and streaming information on Disney's latest big-budget reimagining of an animated classic, here is where you can watch The Little Mermaid.

The new Little Mermaid is diving into theaters with a sparkling live-action look, three new original songs and a total treasure trove of a cast. Starring Halle Bailey as the fiery-haired Ariel who swaps sea for sand, Melissa McCarthy as the iconically villainous half-octopus Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and the delightfully odd coupling of Daveed Diggs and Awkwafina as Sebastian and Scuttle, the live-action remake of the 1989 animated classic Disney Princess film is certainly going to make a splash. Longing to be part of Ariel’s world? You won’t need to bargain with a sea witch to make it happen. Here’s how to watch the new Little Mermaid, plus where to stream the classic Little Mermaid movie, The Little Mermaid sequels and more.

What Is the Release Date for The Little Mermaid?

Ariel's quest to go from a mermaid into a human begins anew when The Little Mermaid premieres this Memorial Day Weekend on Friday, May 26th, 2023. The film will be going up against not one, but two stand-up comedians and their films that weekend, with Sebastian Maniscalco's About My Father and Bert Kreischer's The Machine premiering on the same day. That said, The Little Mermaid will almost certainly be the choice for younger audiences and families.

While some Disney films are heading straight to Disney+, The Little Mermaid will first be shown exclusively in theaters.

Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

How to Watch The Little Mermaid

There's been no official announcement regarding The Little Mermaid's streaming release date, though we know it will eventually be released on Disney+, rather than Netflix or HBO Max.

It's difficult to guess when to expect The Little Mermaid on Disney+, as the company hasn't been consistent with its streaming-release cadence; its past five live-action reimaginings were released directly onto Disney+. The company has brought the last few Marvel movies to streaming within two-three months, however, which potentially puts The Little Mermaid on Disney+ between July 26 and August 26.

The Little Mermaid will be shown exclusively in theaters. We expect the movie to come to Disney+, but based on Disney's past release models, the film won't be made available to stream before 45 to 90 days after its theatrical release.

Will The Little Mermaid Be in Theaters or on Streaming?

Unlike several of Disney's other live-action remakes such as Pinocchio and Peter Pan & Wendy, The Little Mermaid will be exclusively in movie theaters first with tickets available for pre-sale now.

After The Little Mermaid has completed its exclusive theatrical run, the film will be released on the Disney+ streaming service. Based on Disney's past release models, the film won't be made available to stream before 45 to 90 days after its theatrical release.

When will The Little Mermaid be streaming on Disney+?

The Little Mermaid Disney+ premiere date is tentatively estimated to be August 30, 2023.

While no official Little Mermaid streaming date has been confirmed by Disney, most of its major movie releases drop on Disney+ following a minimum 90-day period, and typically premiere on the platform on Wednesdays, making Wednesday, August 30 the most likely date for Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action streaming release.

Will The Little Mermaid Be Streaming On Disney+?

The 2023 version of The Little Mermaid will only be in theaters initially. After The Little Mermaid has completed its exclusive theatrical run, it is likely to stream on Disney Plus. You can also watch the animated version of Hans Christian Andersen's 1837 fairy tale of Ariel on Disney Plus now.

While you will only be able to catch the new "The Little Mermaid" in theaters starting next Friday, you can still sign up for Disney+ now to refresh yourself on the characters, song, plot and magical fun from the highly anticipated film. The 1989 version of the movie was a catalyst for Disney's animation renaissance throughout the '90s and it still holds up today.

An ad-supported Disney+ subscription starts at $8 per month, but you can get an ad-free access to the service for $11 monthly or bundle the Disney streaming service with Hulu and ESPN+ starting at $13 per month. Disney+ boasts a huge collection of movies and television series, including Marvel and Star Wars content. If you add in Hulu and ESPN, you have nearly unlimited entertainment at your fingertips.

Is The Little Mermaid streaming on Netflix?

No, The Little Mermaid will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available to stream on Disney+.

Will The Little Mermaid Be On HBO Max?

No, The Little Mermaid will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is The Little Mermaid Available On Hulu?

Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie The Little Mermaid on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

2023.06.03 19:50 Magellan292 What Am I Missing?

This has to be one of the most bizarre stocks I’ve ever encountered. And Friday’s price action further proves that something appears broken.
All valuation techniques (precedent transactions, comparables, DCF/multiples) indicate that the company is not only undervalued.. it’s astonishingly undervalued.
Add in the fact that two of the smartest financial minds in the world are now involved (Buffett, Trott), which is the closest thing you’re going to get to activism in a family-controlled company.
Fully diluted market cap = $10.3B
Debt = $16.4B Convertible Preferred = $1.0B Less: Cash = $2.1B Less: Simon & Schuster = $2.0B Less: 51% of BET = $1.5B
EV = $22.1B
We know that they rejected a $6B bid for Showtime a few years ago. We also know that streaming will stop bleeding cash next year.
The entire EV of Fox Corp (FOXA) alone is roughly $19B. It has similar financials - and similar doomsday “cord cutting” narratives - to CBS. Just look at the numbers, it’s all there.
So for roughly the same price as Fox Corp, you get CBS, Paramount, Showtime, Miramax (49%), BET (49%), MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount+, Pluto TV, a fairly sizeable amount of real estate (the studio lot is damn near iconic and a trophy asset), and a commitment by the company to stop the bleeding in streaming.
What am I missing?
At these prices, refusing to repurchase shares is actually destructive to shareholder value. And if it isn’t, the company needs to come out and make the case that it isn’t. Bakish needs to do better here.
I made a big bet on Apple in late 2018 purely by fluke, but I remember vividly walking into my office (Big 4 audit) and hearing people talk about the end of the iPhone. Yes, you read that correctly. One of the partners whipped out his iPhone and said, “You see this thing? It’s dead.” I thought to myself…. f*ck me, I’m screwed. I just sold my condo to put every penny in Apple stock and this guy - this authority figure - is inadvertently telling me I’m wrong.
Thank God I didn’t listen.
I feel the exact same way with PARA as I did back then. The market has priced this thing for dead and no one wants to go anywhere near it. It’s cheap and ugly. It’s not like Apple in the slightest, but the sentiment is damn near the same.
The market is truly inefficient and irrational.

How to Watch The Little Mermaid

At the moment, you can watch The Little Mermaid at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, The Little Mermaid is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Little Mermaid is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see The Little Mermaid on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for The Little Mermaid, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for The Little Mermaid, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for The Little Mermaid to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for The Little Mermaid to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special The Little Mermaid Live!. Enjoy!

What is The Little Mermaid About?

The official synopsis for The Little Mermaid by Walt Disney Studios read:
“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
There is not much mystery in The Little Mermaid's plot. As seen in Disney's many other live-action remakes, it is anticipated that the film's plot will largely stick to the original. With the well-known song "Part of Your World," in which Ariel sings about her wish to be a part of the world beyond the water, i.e., the human realm, the teaser already alluded to Ariel's fascination with the human world. Fans will get to see Ariel and Prince Eric's romance as they deal with the challenges posed by their differences.

Do you see us? Do you read us? Can you hear us? RA is waiting. But you ignore him.
Everything felt wrong. Of course, piloting a Pegasus made you feel that, but at this point Echo thought he would be used to it. “Dawn, Mech status?”
“Mechs structure is fine, but the hull is banged up a bit.”
“And the Ushabti?”
“It’s still stable… for the most part.”
“Well, we better check in.” Echo opened themselves to the omninet, they felt around only feeling the six mechs around him. “Dawn… I Can’t” they stutter.
“Me too Echo. I can only feel us and the others.”
“How are the idiots in shard doing?” they stutter
“The Sisyphus responded with the whole I know everything, and nothing deal. And the Osiris was still in storage. And Lono was still singing.”
“At least one of them is still stored. Weapon and system status?”
“The Fusion Rifle is at 78% power. The Autogun is at full functionality. The Mimic gun is angry. The smoke mines and grenades are fully used up”
Echo got up and started to pull out a choker and a thermal pistol. They climb out of the cockpit and update their hair from dark black to a lighter brown with a green fade. Flexing their metal right arm and cybernetic left leg. It’s clawed toes scraping at the metal floor. “Let’s get out of Fragment, dawn.”
“Cap! It’s on fire and we need to leave! We are under attack! Come on!”
Righ bolts up. His head is pounding, he shakes his head. “God where am I?” He walks over to his cockpit. “Better run a system check.” He mutters to himself. “let’s see, Thermal rifle at full power, Laser Rifle at 45% functionality?” “The prototype is at 35% functionality?” “Apocalypse rail at 100%. Hull at 32% Structure at 75%! Shit shit shit!”
He springs up faster than a man at his weight should. He downs his heavy hardsuit. As his helmet locks into his main suit, he grabs his handheld printer ready to do basic repairs. As he climbs down to the modified storage room he sees the stored mech suit is banged up a little but not so much that Echo would kill him.
As he climbs out the storage hatch, he notices three things; one that is a hole the size of him in his mechs left side. Two the air is breathable. And third that the stars are not the same as the ones he last saw. “Well, where are we, and how do we get here?” he asked to no one in particular.
“Piper you can’t keep doing this!” “I have too!” “You don’t and you know this!” “See you later Pip.”
Pip is in pain. He feels himself being pulled to sleep by the pain. He grabs around his cockpit until he feels his medicine bag. He feels through it until he feels one of his stims. Pulling it out,.
“Kick huh. That works.” He mumbles. He injects it feeling is body burn for a few moments as his body forces it’s self-wake. “Oh, that hurt. Oh, that always hurts.” He sits up leaning in his seat.
“let’s see. Vijaya rockets silo full. Charged blade at 36% power. Need to charge that. And the Variable sword as normal is at 100%. Fade cloak ready. Hunter logic online. Singularity contended ready to be exposed. EVA auto powered off. Planet side huh. Jump jet at 29%. Powering that off to prevent more damage. Flight system ready for action. Heat levels low. Reactor stress... high. Ok, need to get Echo to fix that. Oh, I am rambling to myself again.”
He sighs and pulls out a dagger and rifle. Pulling out an armored hardsuit he puts it on. Clicking his medicine bag to the outside sheathing his dagger and holstering his rifle. He climes out of his mechs cockpit and into the open air. The sky smells of ozone as he sees Echo get out the belly of their mech and Righ is using his handheld printer to repair his mech piece by piece. ‘Well Wind. Let’s deal with this” he whispers to himself.
-----{Two hours later}-----
That looks unstable. Are you sure that is going to work? Oh, dear that’s gone all so wrong.
“Righ your mechs internal systems are low. Your stabilizers are jammed, along with your Flak launcher targeting systems being offline.” Dawn’s ‘voice’ coming from his suits comms.
“We can work on that when I don’t have a hole in my mech. This is going to take a while to repair.” He grumbled “We only have my handheld printer right now so we can’t do much at the moment.”
There’s a crashing sound as the smell of burning plastic and flesh starts to drift downwind.
“Can Basher move or is the hole to much?” Pip called to Righ
“They can move but a bit slower.” Righ responded.
“I think we should check that out. There are people at crashes. Could tell us where we are.” Echo said.
“Everyone suit up and get ready. We are moving out. Prepare for potential hostiles. Echo, you go after me, Righ your last.” Pip called out. As everyone climes up into their mechs they start to see the smoke rise as unfamiliar screams sound in the distance. “Update hostiles almost confirmed. Prepare for combat.” Dawns ‘voice’ calls from the mech intercoms.
-----{One hour later}-----
As the mechs come over a hill they see a crashed ship with human and strange bodies everywhere. “Those aren’t all human. But they got weapons.” Pip stated.
“No shit Pip. What are those?” Echo says as one of their mechs four clawed talons reaches up and points to reptilic humanoids eating the bodies. The reptilic humanoids notice them and start to point weapons at them.
“Well shit. Time for combat.” Righ activates his stabilizers only for an error message to pop up. “Shit. Well, no rail today.” He climbs out of his mech as the things start to fire at him. Pulling out a scope he reads their distance at about 120 feet. He dashes back to the cockpit. “Out of range they are 120 feet out. Counting 60 hostiles” He calls out.
“Understood! firing Mimic Gun!” echo shouts over the intercoms as the flat rounded face of their mech pulls apart as an ever-changing weapon emerges from the split in the face. It fires a bolt that explodes on contact with the ground.
When the dust clears seven bodies lie on the ground. The mech runs 30 feet closer to the hostiles. The mechs back armor opens up revealing a spine like object with what looks like nerves coming off deeper into the mech and a blackhole appears over a disk shape at the back of the mech as it fires a bolt of something killing one of the hostiles. A different gun raises from the spine, fires and folds back in the spine as two more bodies fall. “Nine hostiles down 51 to go.”
“Loading Rail, Pip your up.” Righ broadcasts.
Wind runs 70 feet towards the hostiles as they start to flicker before disappearing appearing next to the hostiles instantly. They slice at the things with an impossibly thin blade that’s now covered in red blood. As two bodies fall over. They slash with a thick blade that was in its sheath a moment ago as six hostiles fall over sparking from the energy that just ran through them. Two rockets fire from its shoulder and two of them explode. The mech holds the thick blade in a guarding pose. “17 down.”
The hostiles move as one get slashed from the mech. They fire and Wind just takes it. They then charge 40 feet at Basher and Fragment. Wind looks scratched. “19 down.”
“Ejecting, mechs locked down.” Righ says before as they jump out with a mini gun and their heavy hardsuit, a large sword clamped on his back. They walk 20 feet closer to the hostiles. They start unloading the mini gun at the hostiles killing two before stopping and holding his ground.
Fragments runs 30 feet at the hostiles. The mimic gun fires killing four more in an explosion. And then a fourth gun unfolds from the belly of fragment shooting a bolt of lightning frying two of the hostiles. “27 hostiles down 33 to go. Opening the Eye of Horus. I SEE EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING SEES ME!” echo screams.
Wind flickers and reappears in the middle of the hostiles. Before slashing eight of them with the thin blade as they pick them apart with expert detail. They slash with the thick sword missing. As two rockets fire and hit two of them. “37 down.”
Righ moves 30 feet closer as he unloads his mini gun, killing six of them. He prepares to hold his ground. The hostiles charge the last 30 feet between them. As the hostiles start to slash at him, they can’t breach his armor. Two of them shoot him but it misses. He pulls out his sword and cuts through them. Killing three. “that’s forty!”
Fragment moves into the hostiles. The gun reemerges from Fragments spine as all four guns unload killing eight more. Fragment’s legs are coated with blood as Echo is cackling. Wind’s thin blade flicks as four more fall as three rockets fire killing three more. The last five of the things fall to Righs blade.
“That’s all of them. Let’s take ten and look at that ship.” Righ called. He turned around as the mech lifts it’s hand as he starts doing repairs on the armor. Pip climbs out of Wind and starts cleaning the blades of blood. Echo quiets his cackling as he climbs out and starts looking at the bodies.
“These things are alien, same with their tech. It’s all code me and Dawn can’t make sense of.” Echo starts fiddling with some of the weapons on the bodies. “Looks like their claws and teeth are their main weapons, the guns are an afterthought.”
“Can you not pick at the dead Echo?” Pip mumbles.
“Nope. By the way your blade is out of power.”
“Already knew that.” Pip grumbles as he starts climbing back into Wind. “let’s look at the ship and then we can deal with our mechs. Don’t want to get jumped by more of those things.”
“I agree. The faster we are the sooner we can find survivors.” Righ climbs back into Basher as the mech starts to turn to the ship.
“I still want to mess with the bodies.” Echo mumbled as he climbed back into Fragment. All the guns sunk back into Fragment as the back armor closes up, and the split in the face seals. The group starts to run to the crashed ship.
Wind appears next to the ship. Pip climbs out and starts to check the non-eaten bodies. Fragment arrives as Echo ejects out landing on the top of the ship. Basher arrives and picks up a small part of the wreak. There’s a creaking sound as the area where Echo is standing falls.

Folks, it's time to dive under the sea once again. Over the last few years, Disney has recreated their top animated musical films into live-action movies. The Little Mermaid is no different, and viewers can't wait to swim into theaters to catch a glimpse of how the movie will stand up against the original version.
Walt Disney Studios has established a remarkable trend of making live-action remakes of its classic stories. One after the other, all the fairytales of the past era are being brought to life by the studio in an attempt to tell the magical stories in a new light of living characters. With the live-action Peter Pan & Wendy due out in April, Disney will continue their string of live-action remakes a month later with The Little Mermaid.
Get ready to go "under the sea!" The latest of Disney's hugely successful line of live-action remakes, Ariel (Halle Bailey) is set to return to theaters for the first time in almost thirty-five years with The Little Mermaid (2023).
Actress Halle Bailey as Ariel, the iconic mermaid princess who longs to be part of the the mysteriously world housed above the ocean floor. When she saves the handsome Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) from a shipwreck, she makes a deal with the sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) in order to gain human legs and go on land to impress him. But there's one catch to the transaction: Ariel must trade her voice in order for her to try and see the things she's after. But as fans of the original 1989 film know, this comes with a series of consequences that threaten both her existence and the lives of those she loves.
Before we ask if you're interested in seeing this, we know you are. But like us, you're probably wondering how to watch and stream The Little Mermaid online. Luckily, we have some clues and it's likely to land on a major streaming site very soon. So climb aboard, because here's where to watch and stream The Little Mermaid online.

Where To Watch The Little Mermaid Online:

As of now, the only way to watch Fast X is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on May 26, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.

Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

How to Watch The Little Mermaid

Enjoy!

The Little Mermaid Cast and Characters

The Little Mermaid was written by David Magee and directed by Rob Marshall. It stars the following actors:

2023.06.03 19:23 HAYD3R Character idea

Character idea
A charcter idea that popped into my mind
A heavy character with a very high health and armor
Have a slow movment speed
Have a bigger size than other character
He have a mini gun
His basic attack works like olis robot (when you press the attack button he stands still for a moment to hold his gun up)then he starts shooting and his fire rate speeds up the longer he holds the attack button
His dodge will be a shoulder pump and it will be made of two parts (when you press the button he will step forward then shoulder pumps in the direction hitting the enemys) if you pulled the movment stick backwards during the dodge he will instantly switch to the other side
Since he is a very slow character he will have a passive unflinchibilry means he is unflinchible without the need of items
Some abilitys that i thout of:
Ability 1
Turning on this ability will make him stand still in his place increasing his attack speed and crit hit rate by alot pressing the ability again will disable it
Modifire1
Giving him a surrounding shield that can tank one hit completely and regenerates ones you score a crit hit (similar to elfs first ability from soul knight) this could be from the original skill not a modifier
Modifier 2
Grants an aim laser to aim on by moving the toggle stick and increasing crit rate to 70%(also similar to elfs ability)
Modifier 3
He shoots at a stable shooting speed for example (if his basic attack starts wih 20% fire rate and speeding up till 100%) his fire rate will start at 60% and do not speed up)
Ability 2
Throwing a grenade that can be stacked
Modifier 1 Throwing a molotov instead
Modifier 2
The skill have much higher cooldown and does not stack up but it has much higher damge and area
Here's some other ones that could work but the arent that good
Switching to melee witch will increase his movement speed and giving him a strong heavy blows and maybe giving him a new moves for the melee mode (changing the secondary skill)
A single rpg shot with hight cooldown and high damge when you press the ability he gets his rpg out shoot one shot and get back to his mini gun
Yeah thats it for the design he should be something similar to the first picture but a bit bigger more muscles with a bullet chain from his nick to his hip and a grenade belt or maybe switch them
His design in game should be some thing similar to the enemy rocky
I thought about giving him the same chain ball on his leg so he could use it as skill that makes him use it as a weapon as a melee mode
And maybe a bullets magzing so he will reload every once in a while but it dosent seem like a good idea
For his name i thout about calling him jabbar😂
The third picture is a minigun in case you dont know it

2023.06.03 19:23 Halperwire NOW Cocoa Powder vs CocoaVia Cardio Health Falavols

First why I'm making this post; There is a huge discrepancy in price between these two products. $0.83/ounce vs $5.88/ounce.
Nutrient Facts
I'm basing this off 1 scoop CocoaVia since that has the called for 500mg flavanols.
10 cal Via, 25.6 cal NOW
0 fat Via, 1.28 NOW
4 carbs Via, 2.56 NOW
3 fiber Via, 2.56 NOW
1 protein Via, 2.56 NOW
Via then lists 420mg flavanols, 80mg epicatechin, and 1150 Cocoa Extract
Note that NOW does not have any specific values for the extract or flavanols but they do claim non-alkalized, sun dried instead of roasted to retain nutrients, and states has naturally occurring polyphenols and flavonols.
Also the only ingredient listed in NOW is organic Cacoa Powder so I'm thinking the only possible difference is how it's being processed.
In summary, the price Via charges seems to be unnecessarily high. Likely super high margins for them. NOW has the correct ingredient and basic process down to retain the flavanols but doesn't claim anything specific. What do you think? Worth paying 7x more for Via or is there another option?
Edit; Screwed up the title.... I've now compared 3 products with listed flavanol content with varying serving sizes in grams. The only real ingredient is cocao powder and when adjusted the serving size of flavanols is basically the same. So whatever process they are doing yields roughly the same flavanol amount. This makes me more confident that NOW would have similar numbers.

New Mexico finds itself below the playoff line again. But the club also has at least a game in hand vs everyone in the West; including El Paso. But New Mexico is also eight points behind El Paso. So this match needs some fireworks.
El Paso is on a six match win streak. They have scored 18 times this season and have been been scored on 12 times. New Mexico has scored 16 times with a conversion rate of 22.2%. I think that conversion rate needs a slight asterisk due to the lack of shots we are taking. What do you all think about that conversion rate?
New Mexico / El Paso matches tend to get fiery. In part thanks to Yuma. The 37 year old defender hasn't played in El Paso's past two matches, so will we even see him tonight? If we do, what minute do the boos start up?
What are your expectations for this match? Are you attending? Remember, it is Devon Sandoval Night! Will he stand with the supporters behind the goal? Will we light up the the score board? Will Old El Paso Salsa be as disappointing as ever? Red cards, get your red cards here?!
Let's get fired up!

Ways to watch/listen:

2023.06.03 19:15 subeam My mom thought raising me with "tough" love was the best move and now I'm dealing with the backfire in my adulthood

I'm pretty much no-contact with my mother and all of the things I wish I could say to her I'm choosing not to. Partly because I have no desire to reinitiate contact and partly because I know she'd just get defensive and angry and start the whole abusive cycle all over again. I want a mother in my life, but she seems determined not to change so I'm dealing with it by being no-contact.
When I think about my mom's actions and reasoning for raising me the way she did, it makes me so angry. She was my first (and only) bully. She always put me down. She would call me stupid, threaten to ship me off to my aunt all the way on the other side of the country-- even made me pack my clothes and bags as a scare tactic once or twice; she didn't care that I was an elementary school kid bawling my eyes out while packing my sneakers. As punishment, she would make me kneel on the ground with my hands straight up in the air for an hour or more. She wanted me to "feel how I feel every day at work while you're misbehaving." It took me until adulthood to realize that a good parent doesn't want a literal child to experience the harsh physical pain of an adult laborer. If my hands drooped or I started sitting because my knees hurt so much, I'd get in more trouble.
Other times I would be grounded for days at a time, but it wasn't the typical go-to-your-room grounding. I had to sit on a chair where she could see me. I had to sit there the whole day-- I wasn't allowed to go to my room or do anything else. Just had to sit there from morning to night and watch the rest of the family watch TV. I couldn't see the TV, of course, the chair was faced for the extra torture of watching them watch TV .
She constantly made fun of me for wearing jackets all the time. I just liked to keep my arms covered because I felt exposed and panicked when my arms were out. It didn't seem like such a big thing to be constantly ridiculed and mocked for. She nicknamed me FedEx specifically because "it's the weird kid from Cheaper by the Dozen, just like you." She also loved to tell me I chew food like a cow. She'd even do exaggerated facial expressions to show me what I looked like. I am still incredibly self-conscious eating in front of people I don't know well.
She did so much shit like the above, but that's not the worst part. The above I've mostly come to terms with and have worked through in my adulthood. The worst part was her "philosophy" of education. She was a typical immigrant mother who pushed education above all else. I wasn't allowed to get low grades-- and in her mind, anything less than a 90 was unacceptable. She would whip me with a belt for "bad" grades. She would chase me all over the house with the belt in her hand, screaming and cursing at me while I ran crying. An adult woman hunting down a young child.
One time, she whipped me so bad I had marks. And guess what? When we got to the parent-teacher conference, the teacher apologized for giving me an incorrect report card. The "C" that made my mom go berserk? Actually an "A". I was so relieved that at least the punishment would end; I never blamed the teacher because even back then I knew my mom's actions were not okay. That running around the house trying to catch your sobbing, terrified child so you could whip them with all your might was not normal. When we left the parent-teacher meeting and got back to the car, she didn't even turn to look at me in the backseat. She sat stiffly in the passenger seat, stared straight ahead, and just muttered an insincere "Sorry" through a clenched jaw. Exactly the kind of apology she would beat me and extend my groundings over (she had a whole methodology of how to "properly" apologize to her. If she deemed my apologies not sincere enough, I'd get in even more trouble and would later have to try again. I always felt like I was approaching some mighty king when I was summoned to her bedroom to deliver my apology.). Honestly, that parent-teacher conference still sticks in my memory because I was so stunned I got any apology at all. Fuck, my heart rate is going up and I'm getting anxious just remembering how I felt in the backseat of the car. I was just a 2nd grade kid-- I didn't deserve any of that.
My mother was, in general, a draconian "teacher". One of her "teaching" methods was to make me read books for hours, then I would be forced to stand in front of her while she flipped through the books and asked me specific questions. Mind you, she hadn't read the books so the kind of questions she would ask were very specific. I hated doing that shit. If I got any answers wrong I would have to go back and re-read the book until I could answer the questions. This could go all day depending on what I read. Her method of "correcting" me was to yell at me and get angry. This was her method for everything. Math, science, English, washing dishes, laundry, cleaning, talking, being. I was just constantly getting screamed at for every thing. Looking back, I know that kids need to be taught things-- as an adult now, I don't expect children to be dishwashing prodigies or cleaning gods. We get better over time, with practice, She never cared for that-- just wanted me to be good immediately.
As an adult, everything she "taught" me is backfiring on me and I'm holding the potato. I have so many issues surrounding failure because she spent 15 years of my life banging it into my skull that failure is terrible, failure is not an option, failure means you're stupid and bad and shouldn't be liked by anyone. I'm also dealing with the breakdown of her idea of discipline. She raised me to obey external authorities/drivers, not generate or indulge in my personal curiosity and motivations. What I learned from her I reinforced in school (never exploring things on my own, waiting for the instructor to hand out projects and prompts, only going as far as was asked of me, etc.) for k-12. That's a long time to build a bad habit. She always told me "I'm teaching you to be disciplined" but now as an adult I can clearly see she raised me to be an object waiting for someone else to put me in motion.
Yeah, that's actually exactly how I've felt for my entire childhood and into early adulthood. An object waiting for someone to put me in motion. And I hate that so much. I have no internal process or habit to accomplish what I want to. I start projects, meander, and then never get them done. I never went further than the surface level at school so, although I excelled, as an adult I feel like I don't know much. For a long time I didn't even know what I liked. I was just this husk of a person, this thin surface of a person, who just molded myself into whatever my mom wanted so I could escape trouble.
It's weird because I was also, in my own way, quite rebellious. Yet a lot of the ways I acted were defense mechanisms to save the important part of the thing I called my "self." It was like protecting a tiny flame from a terrible wind. When I could've been feeding the flame of my self into greater and greater expressions, I was instead spending all my time and energy keeping it alive, my small and flickering self.
Anyway, this got really long. I didn't realize I was keeping so much of this inside! I feel better having written it out. Even though I can't tell my mom any of this shit, at least I've told it somewhere. If you've made it this far, thank you, sincerely, for listening. I'm so proud of where I am today because I know where I came from and how much I've had to drag myself through the muck and the mire. I feel hopeful-- realizing all the above means I know the shape of the problem, right? Now that I know the shape, I can mold my issues into something more positive. I still have a lot of time to change my habits and find out what I like. Not too shabby for a kid whose only real question and goal for 15 years was "how the fuck do I survive my mom?"

Dyson v15 and v11 battery Difference??
I just got a used v15 without the batteries and charger. So I decided to buy open box batteries that fits my v15. When i received the batteries, I found out that they are for v11 (screw in). They are pretty much the same size as the proper batteries for v15 but the pugging in mechanism is very different. At the end im stuck with v11 (screw in) batteries and im having a hard time selling them on marketplace. I attached the pics of the v11 and v15 batteries. Top picture is v15, the bottom is v11

Art Challenge #7: The Endless Possibilities (Voting Pt. IV)
Salutations everyone here is the fourth and final round of 'The Endless Possibilities' Art Challenge! We've had some some submissions all around but three stood above the rest!
The winner of the first round was u/politelylurking with their entry, 'Standing Up To Kronos!' I found this piece so dramatically epic, the full force, the raw and utter power of the King of the Underworld encapsulated in one portrait! Excellent job, u/politelylurking, you gave us a scene many of us were craving for in the Kronos arc, good luck!
The winner of the second round was u/WearyOutcome with their entry, 'Be MY Wife!' I found this submission to be so terrifying, the look of paranoia and desperation in Hades' eyes clashing with the fear and revelation in Persephone's eyes is just fantastic! Spectacular job, u/WearyOutcome, you captured a terrifying scenario that Demeter feared, good luck!
The winner of the third round was u/Nelumbo-lutea with their entry, 'An Oceanic Sized Confrontation!' This multi-paneled piece was amazing because it offered us a meeting of the queens! Without words, the panel perfectly conveys the standoff between Amphitrite and Persephone! Fantastic job, u/Nelumbo-lutea, you gave us a scene where Persephone faces the consequences of her most recent actions, good luck!

2023.06.03 19:05 thesysadm Issues w/ Remote Access

Hey Folks,
I am having a unique issue that I can’t seem to solve with Google.
Had a friend notify me that they were unable to watch a movie, it had a never-ending loading screen and then told them they were offline. I was watching Plex locally at the time so I knew the server was at least up.
I disconnected my phone from WiFi and opened the app and it told me I was offline. I opened my browser from my phone and Plex worked that way (still on LTE). I switched on my hotspot, moved my laptop over to the hotspot and Plex worked.
I did the same hotspot for my TCL Roku, offline. My friend has an AppleTV, offline. Another friend verified their LG SmartOS also reports as offline. Same friend verified it works from their Mac.
My network appears fine, the fact I can get to Plex from the outside via a browser indicates to me that we are good on that front.
Plex isn’t kicking up any logs and reports I’m fully up to date. Status page also shows no issues.
Does anyone have some ideas that I can drill into? I’m lost. :(
Thanks!

2023.06.03 19:02 schwee22 I am actually losing my mind

This is going to be a long post but I’m absolutely spiraling right now and don’t know what else to do. I first discovered my boyfriend’s porn addiction 4 years ago when I borrowed his phone and saw he was looking up legging try on/workout videos on YouTube. We’ve had multiple D-days since then. I continually have tried to set boundaries and he has continually broken them and fed me the same excuses each time. After the first D-day, I told him I was uncomfortable with his porn use and asked him to stop (lol). A year or so later, I borrowed his phone again and saw he had been watching porn. We have our first big fight over porn, he says he’ll stop (again, lol). Then, I catch him looking at girls on Instagram. I asked him to delete Instagram and he did. A few months go by and I started having that suspicious feeling again. One night I caught him in the shower with an incognito window open on his phone. I had no definite proof but he admitted he’d been looking at porn after I interrogated him. Another big fight. Not even a week later, I catch him sneaking off to the bathroom at 3 AM to look at girls on Snapchat. At that point, he agreed to start therapy and allowed me to install accountability software on his phone. That was about 3 weeks ago. Well, he somehow got around the accountability software and looked up nude scenes from TV shows, “female athletes showing too much,” and watched multiple videos of girls in bikinis/leggings, just like he was 4 years ago when I first caught him. He had even installed the Reddit app to try to get around the blocks and had Googled “secret browser PS5.”
When confronted, he told me “I’m not perfect! I’m trying but I’ve gotten better!” And he says it was just incidental thumbnails that pulled him in but I can literally see his entire browning history and he was also searching for deliberate ways to get around the blocks. I just cannot keep justifying his slip ups when the actions and words afterwards never change.
I am absolutely numb. I cannot believe this is still happening. He has seen me sob with pain, physically unable to stand up because of his betrayal. And every time he feeds me the same line of “I’ve gotten better compared to XYZ time, I’m sorry, I’m not perfect” and I just can’t hear it anymore. I know he is not getting better. The fact that he was looking at girls in Spandex again tells me has not because that was exactly the same shit he was watching when I first caught him, literally FOUR FUCKING YEARS AGO.
It breaks my heart because every other aspect of our relationship is perfect. He makes me laugh, brings me breakfast in bed, gets along with my friends and family, and is someone I can talk to for hours. But I cannot deal with this anymore. My feelings towards him have changed so drastically. I am disgusted by his face. When I remember his browsing history I get a sick feeling in my stomach and literally just start sobbing. This happened two days ago and I literally still feel so sick. And I feel like none of this was my decision. This has all been forced on me and I feel like nobody understands. I’m so scared to tell anyone because I feel like it’s so humiliating. I honestly don’t know what to do.
Breaking up seems so daunting. We live together and I couldn’t afford to live by myself. The logistics of it all are so overwhelming and I feel like it’s contributed to me having stayed with him in the past. And again, I don’t even want to break up. I still love him, even as much as I hate him. I want things to be normal and for him not to be a porn addict. He has destroyed my self esteem and any sense of trust in myself or him. I’ve been constantly anxious and on edge because of his addiction, scared when he’s in the bathroom for too long or even that he’ll wake up in the middle of the night to watch porn. It’s almost laughable that there is truly not a single moment of the day, not even while sleeping, that his porn addiction isn’t actively ruining my life. But, even with all that said, I don’t want to hate him or to be sitting here crying while typing this because I feel so torn about our relationship. This all just really fucking sucks.

2023.06.03 19:00 stillworkin Home audio system suggestions for a total budget of $15k - $20k

Hi all,
I'm looking to seriously upgrade my home audio system. I almost exclusively listen to Spotify (but will upgrade to Tidal), but I also love vinyl and have building up my collection over the past 6 years (~100 records), so I hope to start listening much more to vinyl once I have this new system.
Budget and location - Ideally around $15k but if $20k would make a significant improvement, I could be convinced. I live in the Boston area.
How the gear will be used - Home audio in a designated, medium-sized room that'll serve as my music/library room (no theatre; never owned a TV).
New or used - only interested in new gear, as I'm a huge proponent of "but-it-for-life" (I realize I may upgrade select components once every 3-5 years). But generally for all purchases (not just audio), I like to over-research for the initial purchase, take extensive notes, then enjoy not having to think about repairs/upgrading for as long as possible.
Past gear experience - Currently own an entry-level system due to existing space constraints and budget, neither of which are constraints anymore. Specifically, I'm using:
  • turntable: Orbit Custom; Walnut wood, cue lever, acrylic platter, ortofon 2M red ($460)
  • receiver: Onkyo TX-8270 Stereo Network A/V Receiver ($450)
  • passive speakers: Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-5000F 2-way Floorstanding Speaker ($650 for the pair)
  • subwoofer: SVS PB-2000 Pro Series ($1000), which is my most recent purchase. I know this is overkill for my current speakers; I purchased this subwoofer to be the first piece of my upcoming complete rehaul of the system.
Current Considerations I am considering the following pieces of gear but would love to hear other suggestions, too:
  • turntable
    • Rega Planar 8 w/ Apheta 3 MC Cartridge ($5k)
    • Technics Direct Drive SL-1210G-K without cartridge ($4.3k)
    • ClearAudio Concept AiR w/ MC Cartridge ($2.9k)
  • network player
    • Naim ND5 XS2 Slim Chassis Network Player ($4k)
    • Cambridge Audio CXN V2 Network Player ($1k)
  • integrated amp
    • Pass Labs INT-25 ($7.6k)
    • McIntosh MA5300 ($6k)
    • Yamaha A-S2200 ($4.5k)
    • Rotel RA-6000 Diamond Series ($4k)
    • Parasound Halo HINT 6 ($2.8k)
  • speakers
    • Klipsch Heritage Forte IV ($5k)
    • Wharfedale Elysian 4 ($5k)
  • subwoofer
    • keep my current SVS PB-2000 Pro Series 12" ($1k)
Question #1: Given that I'll be listening to Tidal ~80% of the time, and vinyl ~20% of the time, am I considering the correct components, or should I change things? (e.g., not an integrated amp but a pre-amp and power amp)
Question #2: Do you have any suggestions for other items to consider? Of these components, I've mostly researched speakers and amps, and it seems the Forte IV's and Pass Labs' amps are highly acclaimed by many
Question #3: Please let me know, specifically, which items you'd select (not restricted to my considered items above) to create a system for ~$15k - $18k
Also, I gladly welcome any other general tips or suggestions. For example, I have a pretty extensive plan to blind test ~4 pieces, tournament style, once I've narrowed down 2 options for 2 separate key components (e.g., 2 speakers and 2 amps).
Thanks, all!
