6/3/2024 - $100+M REV Q4 & Other Nikola Thoughts

2023.06.03 20:18 Jordykins850 6/3/2024 - $100+M REV Q4 & Other Nikola Thoughts

If you take the monthly end user sales for BEV in Q1, you get around 11/month. Which is growth, plain and simple, and you pump that up even the slightest.. we could possibly start seeing 25/month by Q4. That's $35m right there.
The FCEV orders are going at a 39/month clip, throw in a little FOMO after production begins and it's easy to believe that # could go up. another 40 in June and that gets order book to around 220 as they enter production.. 125 produced and sold in q4 should be the guidance goal, leaves some room to the downside and upside.
75 BEV + 125 FCEV = a $100m quarter, folks. PLUG trades around 25x most recent quarter rev.. 25x100 = 2.5b cap. very hard to believe that the company wont be trading at that level, if it does survive, sometime between Q3 report EOY and Q4 report early next year.
I honestly don't understand why the company is not pushing these numbers because it's merely just putting known BEV sales (and sales growth) together with growing firm/hard FCEV orders + the fact that despite all woes, serial production still starting next month. I do understand company is held to high bar (externally and internally) when it comes to these sort of forward-looking statements.. but, still, they have the sales & orders in hand to make a statement like that. It would make stock price shoot up as well so that fact makes it all the more strange that they don't just say it to get that needed share price pump.
What do we get instead? We get robo articles about reverse split that's 300 days away.. but not the giant rev growth that the numbers within the same talk alluded to?? So, so strange. Here I am, watching Faraday up 50+% off bottom because they're about to finally release something, even though in every comparable category they're in worse shape than Nikola (from product, product market, partnerships, cash, production, even probability of delistment/reverse split). Beyond obvious to me now that something very negative, fraudulent, manipulative is/has been attacking the company from the outside. Those robo articles dominating narrative post-CEO chat were sort of the last straw for me.. I'm not one to believe in that sort of tinfoil hat BS, I always want to believe we're better than that as a society, but the writing is on the wall at this point. I don't know if it's because they're so far ahead of their competitors, O&G, connected short sellers or what.. but someone/multiple someones working very hard to destroy company before FCEV deliveries make it out the door. Which, btw, feel as though they can not be stopped at this point. If the robo articles were the last straw in getting me royally upset.. Lohscheller reiterating serial production in one month was what locked me in as a believer. Truth be told, part of me went into talk dreading what seemed like the inevitable "cash constraints are forcing back production start." BUT NO, the doom & gloom within me was stomped out for (hopefully) good.
I'm almost to the point where I'd grab a big sign and march around my downtown area begging anyone who cared about climate change to pick up their smart phone, hop on whatever app they've got and throw $5-$10 dollars at it. The company is meaningful. The company is important. It is the most meaningful & important company at these prices since Enphase was tickling a $60m market cap! If you actually care about what they're doing.. you need to hold, you need to keep adding and you need to tell others to do so. Hell, I've started posting in truckers to try and push product! Started a twitter to push, although I also post about other green tech.. It's to the point where we need to be actively doing whatever we can to help them make it over this last hump. It very well could be a lost cause.. but even if that is what happens, at least I (plus some family and friends I've told to buy since sub-$1) lost money on something I not only believed in, but actually knew was good and did my part fighting against the blatant corruption that they're up against now.
Nikola has gone from the black knight to the white knight and he's off his horse, wounded af and weaponless.. we must remain supportive. Support the company & the product and the share price will one day reflect that accurately. I honestly believe that, but then I'm an eternal optimist. If Nikola can change from rolling truck downhill to pump price to a company that holds themselves so rigorously accountable that will not even give realistic positive guidance that would pump stock.. it's my belief that they can also overcome the unfair market they find themselves at the mercy of.
hope everyone has a great weekend. transmission over.

2023.06.03 20:17 ScopioKisses1986 Home Inspection- how likely is it for the seller to do the repairs

So I’m currently in the process of buying y first home. I’ve always said that I liked older homes because the rooms are bigger and they seem more spacious.
So I had my home inspection done and my inspector was great. He allowed me to walk around with him and ask questions. He was actually excited that I was there and involved. So here’s the bad part. We found some foundation issues and a leak. I did have a list of things that I told my realtor that I want fixed. There were about 9 safety hazards that he pointed out. When I talked with my mom, she said they might not fix it because that would be expensive. They would need to fix the deck and the foundation in the basement that’s under the front of the house. They marketed it as move in ready but that’s a no go for me. Has anyone ever had a seller refuse to fix foundation issues?

2023.06.03 20:17 Background_Pepper_50 Learning German and Moving to Germany from Scratch as a Doctor

Hello everyone, I have just graduated from medical school abroad and have decided to start my journey to becoming a German-certified doctor and just wanted to know if any of you have learned German from scratch and how did it go? My home country has intensive courses but they say that it will take me 6 months for A1 and 6 months for A2. Seems like a long time given the fact I need to reach B2 eventually. Does that mean it will take two YEARS? lol If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

2023.06.03 20:17 Gjallock Do realtor fees affect capital gains tax?

I’m selling a house that I bought 9ish months ago because I got a significantly better opportunity in another city. Don’t want to be a landlord at this stage of my life.
I purchased the house for: $275,000
I am selling for: $295,000
Realtor fees: 5% (around $14,750)
I am bringing $5,000 in down payment assistance for the buyer. Not sure if this impacts anything either.
So…how does this work? Is the amount I’m taxed based on the full $20,000 profit of the sale? Or the full amount that I personally received in profit from the sale after all other parties skim theirs? Information online is conflicting and I’m not sure how much to be setting aside for tax season.
Help greatly appreciated, TIA!

“Book Club The Next Chapter” Streaming or in Theaters?
There’s something special about gathering around with friends to discuss a good book. Whether it’s dissecting the characters or debating the plot, it’s a great way to spend an evening. But what if your book club decided to take the next step and discuss a book that’s currently streaming or in theaters? There are a few things to consider before taking this dive. First, is the book still relevant? If it’s a classic novel that’s been adapted to the big screen, then there’s a good chance that the film is still relevant. However, if the book is a more contemporary release, the film may not be as widely-
seen. Second, how well do the film and book compare? In some cases, the film can be a completely different experience from the book. This is often the case with adaptations of best-selling novels, where the film may leave out important plot points or characters in order to condense the story. If this is the case, it may be difficult to have a meaningful discussion about the film. Finally, is there a way to watch the film together? If not, is everyone willing to watch it on their own time? If you’re planning to discuss a film that’s still in theaters, you’ll need to make sure that everyone is able to see it. And if you’re planning to discuss a film that’s streaming, you’ll need to make sure that everyone has access to the streaming service. Taking all of these things into consideration, there’s no right or wrong answer as to whether your book club should discuss a book that’s streaming or in theaters. It’s entirely up to you and your group to decide what you want to do.
“Book Club The Next Chapter” Be Available For Streaming?
Book Club The Next Chapter was one of the first book clubs to be available for streaming. The concept was simple – members would meet online to discuss a book, and then share their thoughts and opinions. It was a great way to connect with other book lovers, and to keep up with the latest releases. Now, with the popularity of streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, it seems like everything is available for streaming. So, is Book Club The Next Chapter still relevant? There are a few things to consider when evaluating whether or not streaming book clubs are a good idea. First, there is the issue of time commitment. It can be difficult to commit to watching a show or movie when you have other obligations, like work or family. With a book club, you can usually read at your own pace and then meet up with the group when it’s convenient for you.
Another factor to consider is cost. Most streaming services require a monthly subscription fee. While some book clubs may have a membership fee, it is usually much lower than the cost of a streaming service. Additionally, many book clubs have options to borrow books from the library, which can save you even more money. Finally, it’s important to think about the quality of the content. When you watch a show or movie on a streaming service, you generally know what you’re going to get. But with a book club, the book selection can be more hit or miss. Sometimes, the book will be great and you’ll have a lot to discuss. Other times, you might not be as impressed and you might not have much to say. So, is Book Club The Next Chapter still relevant in the age of streaming? It depends on your personal preferences. If you’re looking for an easy way to connect with other book lovers and to stay up-to-date on the latest releases, then a book club might be a good option for you. But if you’re looking for a service that offers a more reliable quality of content, then you might want to stick with a streaming service.

I mean…not bad, right? When I started this series I didn’t know how Wyoming would fare, but they certainly exceeded my expectations. 23 of 40 seasons with at least a .500 record is very good at the Group of 5 level, and they’re very close to becoming the first 40-year G5 team with a winning record on this list. The only conference title season that didn’t make the top 5 is 1993 at #9, when Joe Tiller led Wyoming to an 8-4 record and a 3-way share of the WAC crown. The All-Americans include the great Dallas Cowboys TE Jay Novacek in 1984, WR Marcus Harris in ‘96, and DB Brian Lee in ‘97. Surprisingly, the highest ranked Josh Allen team (2016) only comes in at 7th, which shows the high quality of teams Wyoming’s produced over the last 4 decades.

Top 5 Seasons

Worst Season: 2000 (1-10 overall, 0-7 Mountain West)
Armed with a new coaching staff led by Vic Koenning, Wyoming’s defensive coordinator for one of the better 3 year stretches in Cowboy football history, Wyoming was full of confidence for the turn of the century. After predictably losing games to Auburn and Texas A&M, Wyoming rebounded to beat Central Michigan 31-10, and had a 21-7 point lead over Nevada, looking for their second straight win. The season ended there, and everyone went home happy. Kidding, Nevada scored 21 straight points to pull off the win in Laramie, and Wyoming didn’t win a game for the rest of the year. The closest loss was by just 12 points, and shutouts included 0-34 to San Diego State and 0-34 to Utah. But the Cowboys were certainly not without talent! Tucked away as the backup QB was Casey Bramlet, who would throw for 3000+ yards in each of the next 3 seasons and is an all-time great Wyoming QB. The receiver room was also loaded, with future NFL WR Malcolm Floyd (5500 receiving yards at the next level), and future CFL veteran WR brothers Brett and Brock Ralph. Brock won 2 Grey Cups, and Brett was a 4 year starter for the Calgary Stampeders.
5. 1999 (7-4 overall, 4-3 Mountain West)
Get ready for a history lesson, because each season in the top 5 predate the 21st century. 1999 was the first official year of the Mountain West Conference, formed by some of the longtime members of the WAC. Wyoming was known as a solid team around this time, but the class of the conference was clearly LaVell Edwards and BYU, who had won 18 of the last 25 WAC titles. So late in the season, when #15 8-1 BYU rolled into Laramie to face 5-3 Wyoming, the Cougars were heavy favorites to win the game and clinch the Mountain West in its inaugural season. The Cowboys had other plans though, and held BYU to just 29 rushing yards in a 31-17 upset. The fans stormed the field and tore down the goalposts, and Wyoming was right back in the conference title hunt. With a win in the final week they would’ve shared a 4-way title with Utah, BYU, and Colorado State, but lost 7-39 to San Diego State to finish 7-4 and 4th place in the MWC. Despite a winning record, they weren’t invited to play in a bowl either.
4. 1998 (8-3 overall, 6-2 WAC)
Conversely, this was Wyoming’s last year in the WAC. And they had a damn tough defense to play against. After beating Montana State 17-9 in week 1, the Cowboys flew to Athens to play #12 Georgia, and held them scoreless in the 2nd half in a 9-16 loss. Wyoming forced 4 turnovers, and could’ve even pulled off the upset if Georgia didn’t have one of the better defenses in the country. Fast forward later in the season with just 2 weeks left to play, Wyoming still had just 1 loss, to Georgia, and was 8-1 and ranked #25, with wins over .500 or better teams Louisiana Tech, TCU, Colorado State, and Utah. That set up a matchup with #23 Air Force for the WAC Mountain Division title in Laramie. In a battle of the top defenses in the WAC, Air Force did enough for the 10-3 win. Wyoming just needed to win their final game against 3-7 Tulsa, and Las Vegas Bowl representatives were so confident in a Wyoming win that they attended the game, ready to invite the Cowboys after the final whistle. Tulsa played their best game of the year though, in a 35-0 upset, and Wyoming missed out on a bowl.
3. 1996 (10-2 overall, 7-1 WAC)
As the season kicked off, Wyoming celebrated the 100th season in team history. This would be coach Joe Tiller’s last season at the helm before going on to success at Purdue. A 9-0 start came with its up and downs. An opening week 40-38 win over Idaho was too close for comfort, and Wyoming trailed Iowa State 23-38 with just half the 4th quarter remaining, before miraculously coming back to win 41-38 in OT. The defense started to find its stride afterwards and the offense kept clicking, averaging 43.3 PPG in the 9-0 start. A surprise 24-28 loss to 5-2 San Diego State ended the perfect season, but after beating Colorado State the Cowboys were headed to the inaugural WAC championship game to face BYU. A record crowd of 41,238 showed up to Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas that day, for the bout between #6 BYU and #20 Wyoming. BYU QB Steve Sarkisian was the most accurate passer in the NCAA, and their offense was top 5 in the country. Holding a 25-20 lead with just 3 minutes to go, Tiller elected to take a safety instead of punting deep from their own end zone, but BYU would go on to tie it 25-25 before eventually winning 28-25 in OT. Wyoming surprisingly wasn’t invited to a bowl game, but finished #22 in the country.
WR Marcus Harris was the best in the country, earning consensus All-American honors with 109 catches for 1650 yards and 13 TD, also finishing 9th in Heisman voting (the only WR to finish top 10). Harris finished his career as the NCAA’s all-time leading receiver with 4518 yards in just 3 years of starting. S Brian Lee was arguably the best defensive back in school history, ranking 2nd in the nation in interceptions with 8. A year later in 1997, he’d repeat with another 8 INTs, this time leading the country, and earned a consensus All-American spot because of it.
2. 1987 (10-3 overall, 8-0 WAC)
After coach Dennis Erickson left for Washington State following the 1986 season, Wyoming’s athletic director, Paul Roach, hired himself to double as the head football coach. Fans and media members weren’t sure of the move, but would quickly come to enjoy the fruits of his labor. An opening 27-13 win over Air Force was a big one; the Falcons had gone 12-1 just 2 years prior. After dropping a game to Washington State + Erickson and Oklahoma State, a few weeks later the Cowboys were 4-2 heading into BYU. Down 0-14, the Cowboys headed into halftime in front of a record BYU crowd of 65,291. 29 straight points later, Wyoming was up by 15, and would hang on to win 29-27, the game now known as the “Silence of the Cougars”. BYU fans, who just 3 years ago had watched their team win a national title, filed out of the stadium in stunned silence. Wyoming players believed they’d run the table after that and they did, going 10-2 and winning the WAC with a perfect 8-0 record. Wyoming faced Hayden Fry and #18 Iowa in the Holiday Bowl, and the Hawkeyes needed a blocked punt return for TD, pick six, and blocked FG to eek out a 20-19 win. Wyoming QB Craig Burnett was top 10 in the nation in passing yards/TDs with 3131 yards 21 TD 16 INT. RB Gerald Abraham was also top 10 with 1305 rushing yards. The year set up nicely for the 1988 team that would end up being Wyoming’s best team in the last 40 years…
1. 1988 (11-2 overall, 8-0 WAC)
Was the win over BYU a fluke? Going 8-0 in the WAC a farce? The 1988 team set out to quell those doubts. Armed with a new QB in Randy Welniak, Wyoming faced off against BYU in the season opener, a grudge match with the Cougars out for revenge. This time, Wyoming left no doubt. A 24-14 win was even more dominant than the score looked, with Wyoming intercepting 4 passes, recovering 3 fumbles, and racking up 9 sacks. Freshman BYU QB and future Heisman winner Ty Detmer was just 9/26 for 133 yards 1 TD and 4 INT. After that, things were just easy for Wyoming. 44-9 over an 8-3 Louisville team. 38-6 over Louisiana Tech. 55-27 over San Diego State. 61-18 over Utah. Late in the season, ranked #10 and matched up with 8-1 UTEP for the WAC title, Wyoming put on their best performance of the season, beating the Miners 51-6 and winning the WAC title for the 2nd straight year in the process. Wyoming entered their bowl at 10-1, with the only loss to Houston and Andre Ware, who’d win the Heisman a year later. Unfortunately this is where the fun ends, as the Cowboys faced #12 Oklahoma State in the bowl. Do you remember who was on that Oklahoma State team? Yeah, Barry Sanders ran for 222 yards and 5 TD…and sat out the 4th quarter. Oh you thought I was talking about Mike Gundy? Yeah, he had a good game too, 20/24 for 315 yards.
But the focus is on Wyoming. An unreal year. They averaged 39.3 PPG (4th best in the nation) while giving up just 21.5 PPG. 6 wins were by 30+ points. QB Randy Welniak had one of the best seasons by a quarterback in school history, throwing for 2791 yards 21 TD 11 INT with 415 rushing yards and 16 TD. Welniak was 2nd in the country in TDs with 37, and won WAC Offensive POTY. DT Pat Rabold won WAC Defensive POTY. Paul Roach hiring himself as head coach in 1987 turned out to be a shrewd move in hindsight, and would go back to being just AD in 1991 after going 35-15 in his 4 years as coach.

5th Quarter

What is your favorite Wyoming player, play, or game? Do you think Josh Allen is the best player to play at Wyoming, or is someone being overlooked? What does the future hold for the Cowboys in an NIL world, as the premier team in a small state? And what’d you think of their teams in the 80’s? What is The Little Mermaid About?
The official synopsis for The Little Mermaid by Walt Disney Studios read:

“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. There is not much mystery in The Little Mermaid’s plot. As seen in Disney’s many other live-action remakes, it is anticipated that the film’s plot will largely stick to the original. With the well-known song “Part of Your World,” in which Ariel sings about her wish to be a part of the world beyond the water, i.e., the human realm, the teaser already alluded to Ariel’s fascination with the human world. Fans will get to see Ariel and Prince Eric’s romance as they deal with the challenges posed by their differences

You’ve also both been part of projects with color-conscious casting before, but this one elicited some particularly ugly feedback online. How was it watching Halle Bailey walk through that, the reaction to a Black mermaid?
DIGGS: Halle is, I am convinced, the only person in the world who could have played this part. To watch her navigate the world post the announcement — that would’ve probably broken me, particularly at her age. I mean, so much excitement is already one thing, and then also that kind of intense racism just being fired towards you, it’s insane. But I think her performance is so undeniable. The best way to silence a hater is to just be great.
The movie does seem to evoke some really powerful reactions, because of all the attachments to it.
AWKWAFINA: People have told me that they were crying from like, the second that Halle started singing “Part of Your World,” then never really stopped.

DIGGS: I am one of those people. I was right behind you, trying not to cry audibly.

AWKWAFINA: I think the really cool thing about the best kinds of adaptations is that they truly do bring people back to whatever their relationship with the movie is. When I was young, it taught me so many themes about life and storytelling and character that still really hold true in this new one.

2023.06.03 20:16 DesperateCoat3881 Leaving a Fairytale

Three years ago before getting into university, my life in high school was all perfect. Perfect in education and unimaginably, in society as well. I had never ever thought of support from anyone except myself, literally accepting no one to interfere with my life at that time. This was because my background from my former school where I had been being raised since I was in kindergarten by some ill-mental teachers, like being mocked of my feminine voice in front of my classmates, despite the fact singing is my self-admitted hobby, until for a period of my life, I had forced myself to sound low as a boy should, detaining me alone every day because my handwriting was not as beautiful as the standard one, and teaching me that all kinds of love except love for family are ought not to have the beginning of them, and its unreasonable strict rules, like not talking in the class (literally) if you don't want to be hit by any wooden or sometimes mental rulers roughly in the end of the day (some of my classmates were hit so often that they didn't even feel painful and laughed instead, no exaggeration) and not bringing any electronic devices to the class, which seemed agreeable but made me never have idea of having conversation with friends outside the class (this results in lack of attaching importance to friendship and also having no friends). All media just exposed the school and some of its other affiliated ones 3 years ago, and some other student cases that were harmed by teachers there either mentally or physically began to be reported since then. The schools are still now available, but they really are not a choice of most parents for their child education anymore. Before all of the truth was revealed, at first my parents, whom I love so much that I have pretended to be insensitive and independent all the time for fear of worrying them, wanted me to have life in high school there, but my one and only favourite English teacher, the one who first expands my vision of a language, especially English, told my parents not to let me stay there because she already knew that the entire school itself was hell in both education and management and took pity on my being and English skill if I had had to study there. On the strength of her advice, they encouraged me to enrol at a new school after that, and here was a start of a sense of perfection in my life.
I decided to enrol for the French-English programme, and it was the best decision in my life. I met two mesdames (French teachers, but we usually call each of them madame despite the fact we speak Thai). They really saw that I had a problem socialising with others, mindset one, although my French skill was top. At that time, I was unaware that all I had been through was unconventional because no one told me that the former school did wrong to me, and I just thought that it was its duty to "rectify" and "perfect" me in their way. Madame, instead of persuading me to focus on study, several times told me to hang out with others. I was so lucky that there were five classmates who first asked me to tutor them English and also French, and they began to reach out to me to socialise with them. It was the first time that I was given a birthday present, homemade cookies, from one of them and had someone, not my own family, say "Happy birthday" to me. It was the first time that I had my own mobile phone to play social media and share Youtube videos with someone. It was the first time that I was able to feel myself letting my guard down and dare to sing a little together with someone in spite of this feminine voice. Last but not least, it was the first time that I hung out with someone.
Somehow, two of them seemed to go out with someone, and another one had a crush on our classmate real hard. All of a sudden, I desired to know what love was. Admittedly, I was great at English because of chatting with online people on one application, and by chance, there was one online person who I had often had conversation with and who came to me and confessed me. I didn't reciprocate his feelings at all but was just curious about love. Of course, it lasted like three months, and the conflict was that I tended to express low self-esteem and repeat that I felt not so valuable as others. In the end, he was perhaps depressed by me and was gone. I admitted that it was the first time for me to feel a little heartbroken very briefly, but in a nutshell, all was well with me.
Personally, it was true for me to spend time on online conversation most because it was the only place where I could perhaps be valuable and feel helpful. And, I did observe that the application I was on had many online people who had a tendency to escape from their reality to there perhaps due to such problems in real life as dysphoria, financial problems, familial ones, and etc. It was certain and knowing that I was as runaway as those, but never had I had bad attitudes towards them.
As if to look at the mirror, someone then burst through the dark there. He appeared to be a boy and talked about stuff that I wasn't used to at all, but all I knew was that he had some secrets and covered his background, very enigmatic. It wasn't love at first sight at all. In the beginning, I urged to make him happy and also copied his vocabulary and speech style to practise my English. He then introduced me to asexuality, and I was so positive that I was in this term. Until... staying up late together with him echoed my reverie. I realised that something unusual grew within me. I imagined more. I talked more. I overthought more. I linked all to him. I felt connected... Then I confessed to him casually for the first time. It ended up with his exemplifying the situation where he used to get confessed by others and rejected them. By nature, I was so stubborn and thought that perhaps both of us might not be that deep at the time. Well, I began to plan to "make something happen." I had long wished that I would have had someone countdown with me on the 31st of December. I knew that he was the one I needed to cling onto that day, so I swayed him into doing it for me or perhaps dragged him into it. I admitted that it was pretty exhausting to prepare to materialise everything in my mind to show him, like the written lyrics at my own website and the painting of him despite the fact that I don't like painting because I'm not good at it. The second confession went on, and the response seemed the same, but he gave me his details on love more. Platonic love. "What is it?" I had no idea of it at all and still have not comprehended its definition up until now.
For those who can explain me what platonic love is and how it works, please read my questions on this subreddit:
https://www.reddit.com/aromantic/comments/13z1sjh/platonic_love_what_criteria_do_you_conside?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
All I knew was that he had impacted my life so much that I felt impressed and lost in his aspect. When I was in the French storytelling pair competition at the national level, I had to go and describe a random picture in French to French judges, and I luckily got a picture of a cosy fireplace with an ornate Christmas tree. So, I imagined to myself what I would want to tell him if we both sit next to each other at the fireplace at Chirstmastime. I taled all the judges about the warmth when with him and somehow made them laugh in a positive way. Abracadabra! I got a gold medal in French storytelling pair competition at the national level.
The feelings for him connected me more to all five friends of mine in a way that I almost dared open up to, most R&B and love songs in a way that I had no doubts anymore why a songwriter loves to write a love song most, and those Facebook posts about love in a way that a teenager seems to press the like button. I understood and visualised life full of colours, not only interested in spending all hours reading dictionaries or academic textbooks at home. Perfection, never had I imagined or been told before. My mother always noticed my smile and wondered why it appeared in my sleep every day. And, I saw only him in my vision, refusing those who confessed to me without hesitation or fear of depressing anyone, which I really did break a group of my online friends for this reason.
Perfection. It was like a drug. I was addicted to it and realised that it brought me back to life. When I was at the former school, I only hoped to survive each day. Study was never in my sight, nor did I homework. I left behind my class, and it seemed that I had no right to grab anyone's attention at all. This led me to think if I had had enough wisdom to impress him and also five friends of mine, they would have given me more attention. So, I made up my mind to live up to him. And the result was the worst decision. I was under pressure to impress him with my knowledge of everything; however, he was always ahead of me no matter how much I did research into various topics. I was really moody every time I saw him, his paintings and writings. Envious of his skill, I misbehaved towards him, and somehow he turned into my rival. Expecting myself more than anyone, I felt disappointed at myself and felt no values for anyone to love or take care of me. Then it was the first time that I... had an urge to criticise and judge him. Plus it was time for university admissions, and I admitted that I wasn't in a state of determination at all.
Eventually we were drifting apart, and he slipped away without farewell while I was still competing with him for perfection. Realising that I was all alone then and we were growing apart, I felt dead inside, a heavy heart to zone out for about 4 lockdown months without talking to any people around me. I blamed myself for all so much that I began to feel myself unable to differentiate between a dream and reality and oftentimes vomited when something about languages including alphabets and vocabularies reminded me of him. I hated myself more and more that I leaned on interpersonal relationships although I had never depended on such a thing at the former school. I never told all of these to my parents because I believed that no one wanted to be seen weak, did they? So, I pretended all the way although my mother did see something different from my usual traits such as a pitch change in my voice, insomnia, loss of appetite, and a lack of interest in reading. It was that time I tried to find his background on the Internet to somehow threaten him? It did seem possible for me, but this contrasted with my personal values, disgusting myself more and more. I ended up with myself, the root cause. I didn't think of self-harm, but with having nummular eczema for 8 years, I always woke up in the morning, covered in blood from scratching all severely inflamed skin subconsciously. This is from stress and allergy to my own immune system. For some reason, I couldn't stand it anymore and messaged one of my five friends and pretended that I just conflicted with one online friend. She did accompany me and really did remind me of my childhood memories influenced by my elder sister whom I haven't talked to since she got into university many years ago, like listening to Vocaloid and Kagerou Project songs, old Japanese songs, especially Utada Hikaru, anime (Cardcaptor Sakura, Kamichama Karin), and immaturity (RPG Maker horror games). I felt that I didn't have to be in a hurry to be an adult. Perfection does not have to lie in only wisdom but also liveliness? It was the first time that I got to play online games with my five friends and understood that it was okay to consult someone and call for help. I kept in mind that when Covid-19 was completely gone, they all had to grow apart as well as him to start their university lives. I wished that I could have frozen the time right here and rested in the moments of immaturity a little longer.
It was hard to control myself not to write and think of him. There were only fragments of memory, but didn’t memory of someone make them themselves? The linguistic exams, the last part was to explain relationships of phonology, morphology, semantics, and syntax, and I wrote answers with examples of pandas and names. I topped in linguistics. I should have forgotten. Him. But, the memories weren’t gone at all. Even in academic writings, there were several times when I made an intention on a connoted meaning. December, it was a month that I’ve loved less since then, while a choir teacher seemed to love it most because of the Christmas spirit to carol at the mall. It was the first time I felt that a dream about touching snow in December would be more possible than before.
Until...

2023.06.03 20:15 ariasd2006 Portland homes (and surrounding area) re-listing for double the price

I’ve been looking at homes in and around Portland and have noticed a crazy trend with homes being purchased in 2021-2022 and being re-listed for sale at double the price or more than double. Is anyone else seeing this trend in the area or other housing markets? It’s hard for me to imagine that anyone would pay those prices for homes after seeing it was bought just a year or two ago for much lower prices. Also, most people can’t afford the prices I see listed and interest rates are super high, leading to buyer demand being very low. I know inventory rates are low, but is anyone buying these homes for those ridiculous prices are are they forever sitting on the market until they start making price cuts? My guess is that something will trigger an economic crisis and people will start having to list their homes for sales eventually, which would put these over ask sellers in a bad position. I think it’s stupid to be so greedy and make it tough for regular home buyers to get a home.

2023.06.03 20:14 ukfan758 Tire recommendations for 235/40 R19?

I live in central Florida (Orlando) where we get heavy rain every afternoon for about half of the year plus hot temperatures from May to October. I also travel home at winter time where temperatures are usually well below freezing and snow/ice occurs. My budget is $1,200 and would prefer a tire that performs great in the rain, good stopping distances, and has good durability (preferably 50k+ since I’m a high miles driver). Thanks!

2023.06.03 20:14 throwRA5674839 Am I nitpicking my boyfriend's room cleanliness?

Me (21f) and my bf (23m) have been together for 4 years. we both live at home and have frequent sleepovers at each others houses. He started actually taking care of his room when we started dating and would always have it clean for me when i came over as I do for him to this day. Lately, things have been changing for the worse and I really need outside opinions on what I should do or if im overreacting.
His room used to be upstairs, then he moved into the basement bedroom. To simply describe this room, its like a dark musty cave. From first glance everything looks fine, nothing is on the (CARPET) floor besides the pile of clean clothes in the corner that sits there for months on end. One time I folded this pile for him, and the clothes were all stale and musty smelling, and some of them even felt wet. Any clean feeling his room had got ruined in 2021 summer. He had a portable AC in his room. This ACs pump/drain was unknowingly not working and was slowly leaking water onto his carpet for probably months. His solution was to just throw towels down to "dry the carpet" but then would leave the wet towels on the floor for weeks at a time. He also put a literal gallon bucket under the drain to catch the water which also over flowed and spilled several times.
He finally got a new AC now which is better. But he never did anything about his carpet. I can only imagine the fucking mold that grew under there and under his bed. He is aware his carpet is probably nasty and there was a plan in place with his parents to rip it up and put fake wood flooring down but that never happened. He also never vacuums. Also those clothes that i mentioned that felt wet were probably absorbing any moisture left in the rug as they are in the same spot as the leak. Also, he hasn't cleaned the dust filter in this AC since he got his almost 2 years ago and theres a thick layer that I noticed.
He also leaves garbage and dirty dishes and wrappers in his room until I come over, then he cleans it up. He even tells me to wait outside his room sometimes cuz its so nasty he needs to clean it quick before I see it. He also somehow loses pillow cases and then never replaces them and just sleeps straight on the pillow. His family told me when he was younger he didn't have sheets on his bed for months and just slept straight on the mattress.
At this point im getting grossed out even going there. I keep my room clean and would never let mine get like his. Like i said, from first glance it *kind of* seems clean. So when I bring up certain gross things I see in his room he says im nagging and nitpicking and sound like his mom. Which annoys me. This is the only thing that Im starting to have an issue with. He is amazing and great to me in every way, which makes it harder for me to make a big deal of this. My step dad thinks if I don't nag him and talk to him ab this now it won't get better. My bf just has no sense of urgency at all with this stuff and I want him to. I just don't want to breathe in dust and mold in a humid basement. How do I bring this up without sounding like an annoying mom? Am I over reacting? Is he too old to be like this? Help

2023.06.03 20:13 Hairy_Sentence_615 My current vinyl setup

My current vinyl setup
Story:one day while shopping with my mom i saw suitcase record players(ricatech rt220 to be specific)for sale
I asked her if she could buy it and she said yes
We went home and Set it up in my room
And my dad got some of his records from the attic and i had fun playing them
after a while however my interest for records came to a halt and the player and records we're put away
But then a while later i became interested again(mainly thanks to youtube)
And what also helped is that one day me and my family went shopping in the city and we visited a record store
There i bought multiple vinyl records(mostly white label dance records)
And ever since then when we went shopping in the city we visited them frequently and i bought vinyl records there(mostly dance music from the 80s/90s/00s
And eventually i upgraded to my dads old turntable(skytec tec 3300)
And with this upgrade i also got an amplifier(onkyo a-06) and a akai hx-26w cassette deck(not vinyl but still cool)
And i got 2 speakers with it(pair of wharfedale linton 2s)
But my brothers turntable(yes he owns vinyl too)became defective so he got my turntable for a while
While my dad was looking for a new turntable for me(my brother eventually got a new turntable aswell)
Then he found a new turntable(technisat techniplayer sl300)
Which is the turntable me and my brother have currently have and we're happy with it
End of story.
So my current vinyl setup is
(Turntable:Technisat techniplayer sl300)
(Amplifier:onkyo a-06)
(Speakers:wharfedale linton 2)
(Cartridge:audio technica at3600L)
Bonus ⬇️
(Cassette deck:akai hx-26w)

2023.06.03 20:13 TheDoomedHeretic 25[F4R] Wisconsin/Exclusively Online Disco Elysium enthusiast searching for RP partner, mostly for Star Wars, Dragon Age, Warhammer, and a few other fandoms.

As the title mentions I'm an advanced-novella RPer looking for GMs or offering myself as a GM for various text-based RPs. I've provided a sample down below and will ask the same of anybody that reaches out. Outside of writing I tend to spend most of my time on games like Knights of the Old Republic 2, New Vegas, and, indeed, the Hobocop Game. I'm an Associate at Amazon with an otherwise unimpressive social life, occasionally leaving the house to play WH40K Tabletop.
Discord is more-or-less required for me to be interested; sample incoming.
The boar is not dead, though to all the other hunters’ senses it is. It lays motionless on its side within the sled, tied down by rope with two arrows sticking discordantly out of its hide like seams of broken bone. Frozen blood pools in the cracked stomach of the sled, collecting rather than leaking now that red ice has sealed the wood. Poison leaching out of the arrowheads keeps the boar docile, and its breathing so light that only Trapper can see. An ovate in too-thin robes shivers as she ties a garland of rosemary around the beast’s neck, murmuring prayers to the ancestors that they might find the kill worthy.
Winter has seized the land in its vise, its unending waves of cold and snow having transformed the Barony of Marlas into a crueler scape, one Trapper doesn’t quite recognize. Tranquility abounds along the driven snow, all through the clearing, hiding the buried world and the woes of man but unable to snuff them out. Trapper knows well what a mirage it is, the oppressive winters of his homeland no less savage than the bloodletting summers. The numbing cold does not soothe his aches, for he knows they’ll be worse come morning, come the thaw. Too soon this clearing will melt, its river gone from white to red, the whole Septima Line thrust back to war.
Baron Orys refuses to yield to midnight season, to accept its peace, and so from his great warhorse’s saddle he brazenly belts out a mixture of drunken lyrics and commands, determined to master this hunt even if he does not partake. An entourage on horseback spreads out in his orbit, ranging from eager young footmen to grizzled junkers, all in varying states of inebriation at his command. Their braying is nearly louder than the hounds’, who hungrily stalk between the sled and the hole they pulled the boar out from. Teased by the hunt but yet unrewarded, they’re too unruly to be kept in check by the kennel master.
On foot slog the unfortunates who actually have to take part in the hunt, Trapper among them. They huddle into their hemp canvas cloaks, glancing up at the moody afternoon sky threatening to crack open with another snowstorm. Dark clouds sweep in low from the south like a riptide, a single vast current swept in from the mountains already menacing the Oldwoods. Its furthest gales reach them as tongues of vengeful cold, flecks of whipped-up snow biting into Trapper’s exposed skin.
By the boar’s nest leans a typical Mallean, one of Trapper’s two erstwhile comrades. Sigorn is tall, pale, broad, with the close-set, wide-boned features of a commoner, and a shock of red hair grown out to protect against the elements. Beneath his cloak he proudly bears his blood-flecked armor, each dent a Darkman put into it a point of dear pride. He’s not the only one, either, the clearing filled with dozens of youths whose first blooding ended in victory amid a blizzard. Baron Orys, deep into his cups after six days of nonstop celebration, saw a break in the storms and gladly called a hunt. When informed he could not go on account of his shattered knee - he simply grinned, and ordered himself tied to his saddle.
Trapper remembers the moment his lord fell from the saddle, burned into his nerves. The screaming of horses, skidding hooves catching on the frozen ground. On the edges of his vision a rider smashes into a branch in the din, others don’t move at all for fear of the blizzard. His spurs dig, his borrowed steed whines, and he races for his lord - only for another to reach him first.
“What a woman.” Sigorn sighs beside Trapper, craning his neck to look at one of their lord’s companions of honor. Susannah Oye, junker unlike the others, a pretty, willowy noblewoman well into motherhood, with the lean, ruthless look of a ranger. Her two poisoned arrows are what struck the boar down, and her pride curls off her body like steam. Sigorn’s face cracks into exaggerated appreciation, and then he turns to their lord’s other honored companion. Another woman, this one as young as they are, haughtily-built and leering with none of Susannah’s refinement. Many of those looks are reserved for Trapper, forced to slog on foot as just another hunter. “Anya too. I think she fancies you, eh?”

2023.06.03 20:13 vivaelteclado [WTS] LiteAF Ultra Curve 20L M (16.4 oz/466 g), Garcia Backpacker's Cache Bear Canister (43.8 oz/1240 g), S2S Nano Pyramid Net (3.2 oz/92 g), Nemo Fillo Elite Pillow (2.8 oz/78 g)

Miniature gear closet cleanout here. Just getting rid of a few things that are lightly used or not really used anymore. Free CONUS shipping on all items except the bear canister. Let me know if you have any questions.
VERIFICATION PHOTO FOR ALL ITEMS
FULL ALBUM OF ALL ITEMS

1. LifeAF Ultra Curve 20L, medium size (19-20.5" torso), black Ultra, 16.4 oz/466 g, $195 shipped.
2nd owner of this pack and my first Ultra fabric pack, but lightly used with light signs of wear and no real damage. When you spec this out on the website with the included accessories (shoulder pockets, bottom pocket, back pad shock cord), it comes out to $285, but this is 2022 vintage so it doesn't have the 2023 LiteAF updates. Also including an extra sternum strap. It occupies a weird space in my kit in that it's a bit too large and featured for a day pack but too small for multi-day trips. However, it might work for your needs. The thick shoulder straps and the curve shape are the real deal.
2. Garcia Backpacker's Cache Bear Canister, 10L, 43.8 oz/1240 g. $35+shipping.
So this is an oldie but goodie. At one time, I think this was the backpacker's choice for bear canisters, but times have changed. It's still a decently lightweight can for 10L of capacity, but it really can't beat the BV series in terms of capacity to weight ratio. I got this at a REI Garage sale over a decade ago and barely used it since I moved back east. Not sure what a good price for this is, just want to move it quickly for somebody that needs a decent bear can. Have to ask for shipping because it will be over 3 lbs. to ship.
3. Sea to Summit Nano Pyramid Net with Insect Shield, Single size, 3.2 oz/92 g (including stuff sack), $30 shipped.
Got this a couple years ago but never really used it, so condition is still great. Was hoping to use it for short trips as a minimalist shelter but I prefer to just use a proper shelter most of the time. I think this bug net is more suited for someone more adventurous than myself.
4. Nemo Fillo Elite pillow, Sapphire Stripe, 15x11x3 inches, 2.8 oz/78 g, $25 shipped.
This is used condition, so it does have signs of wear, but I have washed the cover and the pillow stays inflated. Full disclosure, in true ultralight style, I cut out the internal stuff sack to save a few grams and it has the old-style Nemo valve. I originally got this because it has a lower inflated height than most pillows, but found I need about an extra inch and settled upon a Sea to Summit pillow. I think this is great pillow for those that prefer a lower height backpacking pillow.

2023.06.03 20:11 Impossible-Project69 Am I doing the right thing ?

Whatever it is you might say if you have to ask then probably not! Anyways let me give you some context. Please be patient with the long post. Never been really sure about my relationship, always felt like I could have done better and I could do better, but this is something I have always felt in every relationship I have been! I knew my wife 5 years ago working at the same job and she immediately caught me eye and started talking and everything and I guess what I really liked about her was her being honest and kind and a really loving and caring person! She has all these kind treats and continuing to have them, respectful towards me and my family, she works, she can do any work just to bring income at home, she does house work and everything! The thing that actually disturbs me is she has no goals whatsoever in her life. She doesn’t know what she wants to do or become, she has no interest in learning new skills, for everything I have tried to show her different hobbies and things to do and she would agree on everything and shows interest in trying new things but is not consistent in that! I’ll give an example: she started learning a new language, she would only go to classes and wouldn’t work independently at all. Once I ranted about that she would get upset started studying and in a couple days same thing! If I ask her what do you want to do in life she says I don’t know she just wants to have a job, probably an office comfortable job but she doesn’t take any necessary step to move forward! I always try to show her different jobs and career opportunities and she feels bad because she doesn’t have any specific skill in any area, she is not very school oriented lets say, she sucks at math and logical problems but at the same time she doesn’t show any great social skills or whatever! Me on the other hand, I am always learning new things, currently studying and working at the same time, always have this ideas of having a company and so, have made decent money for the past 5-6 years or so! So all this being said my question is, am I to obsessed with this or is there something really going wrong here ? I don’t know if I will ever accept this “not willing to improve” mindset, like if I tell her to take yoga classes and become a yoga instructor she would that, or if I tell her to learn piano and become piano teacher she would do that also but she has no ideas of her own! Now my biggest fear recently is we are planning on having kids and I am scared they might come out more like her than like me, I would definitely love them to have some of her traits but ambition and character is something very important to me! I don’t know if I will ever settle for this, or If I love her enough to tolerate this!

2023.06.03 20:10 FightKnight22 A series of unfortunate events....Suic*de seems the best option now ... please read the whole thing

educational_info: Ruined (currently in 11)
A series of unfortunate events…..This was not supposed to happen…what should I do now
Before beginning I'll let you know that I'll miss a lot of details which may be irrelevant intentionally or unintentionally
Hi everyone, my name is X. My parents are both govt employees and we are a very well to do family. So from childhood I have been into coding, computers etc. I used to code games in class 8 on visual basic, etc languages and from childhood (lower nursery std) I was introduced to the world of computers. My passion was coding and aim was to do something in CSE or coding. Last year in class 10th I came to know about IIT-JEE, and thought of preparing for it. I was always passionate about my career and hardworking. I came to know about the concept of dummy schools in November, December from an elder brother of mine, who went through non-schooling and got 97.7%ile in Jan attempt. Serious about my career, I thought it would be best to get enrolled in that school which my mom and I did in January after pre-boards. To inform you all I live in Kolkata, and the culture of dummy school is not prevalent here. After board examinations in March I went on a trip to Darjeeling which was the best week in my life. After that everything turned upside down. When I came back in April, I went to my first classes in Aakash (weekend batch). It was awesome. I was supposed to attend the dummy school on the first day which was 12th of April, and then not attend it anymore at all except the midterms and finals. So I went there. The school was actually not affiliated to CBSE but they apparently have a tie up with some bigger affiliated school. During practicals and boards we are supposed to go there to give the exams wearing that school's uniform. Looking at the conditions it cannot be called a school actually. I attended the school and the environment was shit. 3 people behind me had apparently failed in grade 6, people were all failures or something and the teachers were absolute scammers whom I can't even determine have proper degrees or not, they were pure scamsters. And the whole experience was extremely traumatic. I came back home. 13th April: I started doubting a 100 things. One thing that came to mind was how could I actually give the class 12 board practical exams if they didn't even practice any practical with me. I posted about all this on reddit days after days coming to know in places like Kota or Delhi NCR coachings like Allen teach the students practicals some weeks b4 the exams. For practicals here, what they do is they send these students to that big school with that school's uniform and make them copy paste/cheat from a sheet of paper despite an invigilator being near. This made me highly anxious and worried, everything was uncertain. Actually the whole dummy school system was integrated with the coachings in these states. In here places like Kolkata that culture is absent. These non affiliated but tied up schools basically run illegally. Anyways…14th April: My birthday, everyone wishing me on WhatsApp the whole day and I'm worried about this school shit……I understood I have come to a wrong place and need to shift to a proper school, after interaction with the people properly I understood they were frauds. 15th - 25th : Pure hell, no studies only researching for schools, roaming around in the streets in car with mom who was getting extreme harrasment and as a result beating the shit out of me which is fine. Finally I landed a school which was taking in admissions but they were about 1 hr away from my house and it was not possible…so mom said no. In May first week my father who works in Ladakh (all India services) got severely ill due to sugar fall and went into ICU in Leh hospital. My mom went there to my dad on flight. For a whole week I stayed at the house of my school friend, still doing nothing with such mental condition. On 14th May my ICSE results came out and I got 91.8%, while everyone congratulated I was traumatized, (in between lot of things happening, irrelevant). I again contacted schools whom I knew would open up after board results. Got one top level school who were still taking in admissions in Science stream….my dad and mom returned on 16th May ig….then my dad admitted me to the new school with the following subjects - PCM, BIOTECHNOLOGY, BENGALI ( the school had already started and they forced 6 subjects down my throat, physical education was not available nor cs…if science then only this combo). The school was not giving science to the people who were trying to get admitted after boards but they readily gave it to me looking at my board marks. Their tests would start by the end of June and their school would resume at 12th June….I had done almost nothing till then and biotechnology+vernacular would be a horrific combo for a JEE aspirant. With such a combination, shortage of time and the vast syllabus already covered in 1½ months, i knew I could not cope up. Switched my stream to commerce on 29th May. Btw getting de-admitted from that fraudster school is a different story so skipping since irrelevant.
I was a dedicated student, from childhood I wanted to be into CSE, made a lot of projects and stuff, but now my identity, fate, etc everything got ruined because of one bad decision that was to go to that dummy school and that too from a good intention. My life is ruined, my aspirations, goals, everything. My mom and dad has faced so much harrasment the last two months mentally, physically, financially (loosing a lakh in Aakash). I'm from a well to do family and all this wasn't supposed to happen, everything got ruined because of one wrong step. Now that after so much bullshit I have come to commerce I feel terrible that I can never get into coding….but I'll try my best to excel in this field. My dad even after so much harrasment is staying positive and saying to focus on IPMAT, and for backup target eco hons. colleges like SRCC, Delhi school of economics, Xavier's, St Stephen's and then MBA with CAT+ try to get 98+ in boards now that it's commerce.
I'm feeling ruined from inside because my dream of going into USA, my identity as a techie, coding skills, dreams of being a coder, start-up,etc everything is crushed for some stupid reason which only happened with me alone ….why me??? I watched shows like Silicon Valley, Bojack Horseman, friends, big bang theory, Rick and Morty, South Park, Seinfeld, etc and dreamt of USA. Ok no issue with that being ruined….but my identity as a coder, a techie? My career? Last two months I couldn't eat properly, study, watch shows, every moment just reimagining myself singning up in a proper school in 10th, calling 100s of people, feeling like a vegetable doing nothing in such a mental state, etc everything. Travelling school to school in burning heart in my car, getting beaten up by mom, then worrying for one week when my mom was not there and my dad was extremely sick in ICU. I'm just 17 why is this happening with me.
Can anyone tell me what to do now, any consoling words? Is there any possibility I can grab a coding job if I do something right from now? Dropping from school? Or should I forget coding and my passion CSE and focus on building a career in management. Is there hope in MBA if I can do it from top institutes like IIM, XLRI, any kind of career guidance would be great. I'm doubtful whether there are good career prospects in commerce stream (and I'm absolutely not interested in CA,etc). And if I can't go back into CSE, I want to get into the top of the game in commerce and want a pathway to earn most money in future and get to the top (people like Ajay Banga, etc) as a compensation to what happened with me the last 2 months. I think I'll have diabetes now. Why did this had to happen? I'm completely drained physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. I've considered sui*cide a lot of times, do you think that can be a viable option from here? What should I do? Btw if you check my reddit history it's filled with related questions in last two months. I want peace now. The thing is such unique turn of bad events has never happened in anyone's life I Guess. I'm confused with who I'm, my identity. And btw so much worse shit has happened in between but I had to skip them else it would be too long to finish and coming to the point.

2023.06.03 20:09 theginger99 [Excerpt] Leman Russ first appearance

Just for fun, I thought I’d post the first appearance of Leman Russ in both “Thousand Sons” and “Prospero Burns”.
It’s often claimed that the books are intended to tell two sides of the same story, and they’re often criticized for doing a pretty bad job of it, so I thought it would be interesting to look at the way Russ is initially presented in both books. The depictions are different on some pretty major ways, but also similar in a lot of ways as well. It’s clear to me that the authors coordinated on how to present Russ physically (he had red hair!) but his character is subtlety different in each scene.
Apologies for the length. I tried to quote the minimum amount of text that I felt did each scene justice, but it’s still a fair bit.
“Thousand Sons” (This is also Russ’s first ever appearance in the heresy series)
Context: the Space Wolves and Thousand Sons are fighting together to bring the world of Shrike to compliance. Ahriman and his “friend” Othere Wyrdmake are going to meet the Wolf King.
Leman Russ: The Wolf King, the Great Wolf, Wolf Lord i Fenris, the Feral One, the Foebane, Slayer of Greenskins. Ahriman had heard all those titles and more for the master of the Space Wolves, but none of them came lose to capturing the sheer dynamism of the towering wolf in human form that set foot on the cracked stones of Raven's Aerie 93.
A pack of wolf-clad Terminators armed with glittering harpoon spears followed the Primarch of the Space Wolves, a towering warrior forged from the ice of Fenris and tempered in its freezing oceans. Magnificent and savage, Leman Russ was the power and violence of the Space Wolves distilled and sharpened to the keenest edge. A black-furred wolf pelt encircled his broad shoul-ders, and clawed fetishes adorned a wolf-stamped breastplate and hung about his neck. His battle-plate was the grey of a thunderstorm's heart, its every surface scratched and gouged as though he had recently wrestled the two mighty, blade-shouldered wolves that prowled at his side, one silver and one dark as night.
Ahriman's skin shivered at the presence of Leman Russ, as though an icy wind whistled through his armour. The primarch's hair was a resin-stiffened mane of molten copper, his piercing grey eyes cold and unfor giving, forever moving and on the hunt. A mighty blade, fully a metre and a half long, was sheathed at his side, and Ahriman saw its hilt had been rune-bound with symbols to draw the frozen ice of winter to its edge.
It seemed impossible that any foe could stand against this warrior. Ahriman saw wild, unchecked power in Russ, a recklessness of spirit that jarred with his own strict discipline and dedication to duty. Leman Russ blazed with incandescent white fire, his aura filled with unnameable colours So forceful was it that Ahriman shut himself off from the aether, the primarch's searing presence in the Great Ocean like the first moment of a supernova.
Ahriman felt his body move of its own accord, and the mighty primarch seemed to stretch towards the sly as he knelt before his primal glory. The cold of the mountain air intensified as Russ approached, striding with the easy confidence of a warrior who knows he has no equal. Russ's swagger was arrogant, but it was well-earned.
Ahriman was used to being in the presence of his Primarch; they shared a bond of brotherhood attained through their scholarly mien, but this was something else entirely. Where Magnus valued understanding perception and knowledge acquired for its own sake, Russ cared only for knowledge that helped him better anni hilate his foes. Ahriman was not intimidated, but being so dose to Russ immediately made him feel acutely vulnerable as though an unknown nemesis had revealed its true face
Russ returned his attention to Ahriman. The Wolf King was not looking at him as an individual, but as a target for his aggression. The primarch's eyes darted over Ahriman's armour, identifying weakened joints, areas of damage and points of entry for a blade. In an instant, Russ knew his physique better than he knew it himself, where his bones could most easily be broken, where a sword might best penetrate or where a fist would break open a protective plate and sunder internal organs
”Prospero Burns”
Context: Kasper Hawser has been brought o a secret “quiet room”, filled with Sisters of Silence beneath Nikea to wait with Russ while Magnus is put on trial.
The distinctive wet leopard-growl of the Fenrisian Astartes haunted every syllable of his words. Hawser was mesmerised by the primarch's size. Every physical dimension exceeded that of an Astartes. It was like meeting a god. It was as though one of the great and perfectly proportioned statues of classical antiquity, one scaled fifty or seventy-five per cent bigger than human standard, had come to life.
The Wolf King was also seated on a stone bench. He had a deep silver lanx near to hand, brimming with mjod. His armour appeared almost black, as if it had been scorched and tarnished in a smithy, but Hawser felt that was just the way the gloom of the firelight played upon it. Under an open sky, he thought, it would be tempest grey. The armour was by far the heaviest and most marked power plate Hawser had ever seen. It dwarfed the formidable suits of the Terminators. It was notched and gouged, and the damage was as much decoration as the knotwork and tooled etching on the main plates Around his shoulders, Russ wore a black wolf-skin. The pelt seemed to surround him and clothe him, like a for est beards a hillslope or a stormcloud smokes a peak His face was shaved clean, and his skin was white like marble. Close to, Hawser could see light freckles on it.
Wolf King's hair was long. Thick plaits of it hung down across his chest plate, weighted at the tips by polished stones. The rest of it was lacquered into a spiked mane. Hawser had heard many stories about the Wolf King from the men of Tra. They had all described his hair as red, or the colour of rust, or of molten copper. Hawser wasn't so sure. To him, the Wolf King's mane looked like bright blond hair stained in blood. Russ watched Hawser take his seat. He sipped from his lanx. He was panting still, through parted lips, like a large mammal made uncomfortable by the heat but unable to shed its fur.
Russ smiled. It was an odd expression. He had a long philtrum and a heavy lower lip. These, combined with the high, freckled cheekbones, made his mouth into something of a muzzle, and his smile into a threat display of teeth.

2023.06.03 20:07 KIASeth 2024 Telluride Order Books Are Open

Hello everyone! For all of you who ordered a 23 that never got picked up by KIA or are waiting for the next years model to order, I'm happy to relay the news that the 2024 order books are open for the Telluride.
As a dealership we only have 37 orders for the 2024 placed so far which is about 10% from last year when the 23 books opened. This is great news because this means production is moving much faster than the 22-23 transition and anyone ordering, hypothetically, should get allocated quite quickly at our dealership and maybe, just maybe, more dealerships will fall in line with us and sell them at MSRP.
If you'd like to get an order placed for a 2024, please feel free to email me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Again, all orders are MSRP guaranteed + taxes and fees($799.50 doc fee, $31.64 temp tag). Out of state customers are welcome! We can provide quality transport services, or reimburse up to $400 for a single one way economy flight to Denver so you can sign in store and drive it home.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped me have such a successful year selling the 2023 Tellurides, whether you were a customer or someone who kindly referred me or both, I sincerely appreciate you. It was an absolute pleasure serving many of you all over the US in getting one of the greatest vehicles in America and I hope you all are well.
